BLAME MY YOUTH Charges Into Heartbreak with New Single “RUNNING”

Los Angeles, CA – Breakout alt-rock sensations, Blame My Youth, are back today with the next step in their sonic evolution, in the shape of brand new single, Running”.  Co-written and produced with Joey Moi (Nickelback, HARDY, Morgan Wallen) and Julio Tavarez (Bob Moses), the new track arrives hot on the heels of previously released single,"The Break", which dominated editorial playlists across streaming platforms and hit the Alternative radio airwaves this week. The two tracks are now packaged together on streaming platforms and can be streamed HERE. Fans can watch the official music video for “The Break”  HERE and watch the visualizer for "Running" below..

Running” is a track that encapsulates the turmoil of self-inflicted heartbreak, underscored by the band's seamless blend of raw emotion and anthemic rock energy, demonstrating what you can expect from their debut album coming later this year. Speaking on the inspiration behind today’s new release, Blame My Youth frontman and songwriter, Sean Van Vleet shares,

“We wrote “Running” as a homage to the kinda heartbreak you do to yourself when you leave someone you know is way too good for you. They wanna stay, you wanna stay, but you fly too close to the fire lit by your own demons. I guess 'I stay running', to me, means you’re always chasing a feeling with someone rather than something real.”

After spending last year on the road with HARDY, 311, and AWOLNATION, Blame My Youth will be hitting the road this May for a string of dates across the US supporting Kid Kapichi. Beginning in Dallas, Texas on May 6th, the tour will hit a further 9 cities, including a show in the band’s hometown of Chicago on May 14th, before culminating in Washington DC on May 26th. Tickets for the tour are available now from www.blamemyyouth.com/shows

About Blame My Youth:

Lightning rarely strikes the same place twice, especially in the music industry. There are exceptions, though, and Sean Van Vleet is one of them. He formed Blame My Youth in 2020—a move that was solidified when the band’s first single “ Right Where You Belong” was selected as the closing credits theme on the GRAMMY-nominated soundtrack of Bill & Ted Face the Music

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, follow-up single “Fantastic picked up millions of streams and hit the Top 30 on the Active Rock radio charts. Their 2023 single “Prizefighter” rode high on US Alternative radio and their most recent single, “The Break” officially hit the airwaves earlier this week. It’s an incredible start that demonstrates just how well Van Vleet’s songs connect with people.

That all came after a prolonged period when, following the demise of his previous band Empires, Van Vleet was writing a lot for other artists (All Time Low , Oliver Tree, PVRIS)—as well as over 200 songs in TV shows, high profile ad campaigns and video games—but rarely for himself. That changed when he began working closely with Billboard Top 100 Producer of 2023 (and Big Loud Rock co-founder) Joey Moi. Whereas before their working relationship was divided strictly between songwriter (Van Vleet) and producer (Moi), in the studio one day the pair inadvertently began writing together and realized how much they loved the process. The result was “The Break ”—the first of a number of songs Van Vleet and Moi have written together. Though infectious and upbeat, it’s also much more vulnerable and heart-torn than anything he’s ever made before, and signifies the start of what Van Vleet considers a brand new chapter for Blame My Youth

With 18 million cross-catalog streams and 9 million YouTube views to date and a debut album on the way later this year, it’s only going to get better and bigger for Blame My Youth from here.

A new generation of thrash metal youngsters has risen from the ashes of a club of titans like SlayerExodusKreator, and many more. Greek ambassadors supreme Suicidal Angels are one of the most jaw-dropping representatives of the injection of new blood. At the dawning of this coming spring, this four-piece of energetic thrashers will release their eighth studio album Profane Prayer four years after their previous attack Years Of Aggression. It marks their return to the Nuclear Blast family. ‘It feels like a homecoming’ confirms composer Nick Melissourgos (vocals, guitars) who started the band in 2001 when he was 16 years old.

Suicidal Angels went through a step-by-step development since their humble start in 2001. Not earlier than in 2007, they entered the studio to record their striking debut album Eternal Domination which caused a stir in the Hellenic scene. They were invited by Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ to do their first EU tour. This was only the beginning of a long era of growing popularity. Another milestone was supporting Kreator, resulting in a long-time friendship with Mille Petrozza. In 2010 Suicidal Angels even opened up for the Big Thrash 4 in Athens at Sonisphere and at the beginning of 2014, they finally undertook their first independent headline tour throughout Europe. Every two years they released new albums, continuing to tour widely. In the meantime, they conquered Asia, South America, and Europe and there is more to come.

SUICIDAL ANGELS are:
Nick Melissourgos | vocals, rhythm guitars
Gus Drax | guitars (lead)
Angelos Lelikakis | bass
Orfeas Tzortzopoulos | drums

Thunderstorm Artis Releases "Don't Let Me Let You Go" via ONErpm

Singer-songwriter Thunderstorm Artis, who rose to fame as a finalist on Season 18 of The Voice, is releasing a new single, “Don’t Let Me Let You Go,” today via global music giant ONErpm. Listen Below.

Written by Hawaii native Artis—who recently moved to Nashville after spending time on the Portland, Ore., music scene—Dakota Striplin (The Voice Australia) and singer-songwriter Phoebe Kathleen Scott, “Don’t Let Me Let You Go” is heartache in a song. Full of quiet moments that build in intensity, underscored by lush instrumentation, “Don’t Let Me Let You Go” is essentially an extended metaphor for a relationship that has lost its rudder:

I don’t wanna lose you to find me
And I know you’re tired of fighting
I wish that my words said enough, but they don’t
So don’t let me let you go

As Artis explains it, “In every relationship and friendship, you’ll find yourself at a crossroads where you just feel like giving up and throwing in the towel, but real love is a choice,” adding that in his own life, “I’m thankful for the special people who, when I was pulling away, just pulled me closer and held onto me and who made me realize we can’t change the past, but we can make a better future.”

Artis, who joined Train for the band’s summer tour, has also recently opened for the Zac Brown Band and will embark on the Don’t Let Me Let You Go Tour this spring. For dates and tickets, visit ThunderstormArtis.com.

He plans to release a second single on ONErpm next month. For more information follow Artis on Instagram and TikTok @ThunderstormArtis, Facebook.com/ThunderstormArtis1 and YouTube.

NYC's Otherworldly Things release striking 'Heavy Dream Cycle' EP via Magic Door Record Label

"A tantalising upbeat British beat offering for discerning music connoisseurs and lay-men alike... High-energy feel-good music, this is as infectious as The Kinks and The Monkees ever were... loaded with new vigour and vitality, coupled with classic power pop stylings, synchronous drum-guitar sequences and tight delivery" ~ The Spill Magazine

NYC rock outfit Otherworldly Things presents their 'Heavy Dream Cycle' EP, an irresistible 5-track offering released via Montclair, NJ-based Magic Door Records. This comes hot on the trail of the lead single 'Time Turns To Memories', a song inspired by old photo albums, missing loved-ones, and missed opportunities to better know your family.

Formed in 2014, Otherworldly Things would deliver their debut concert in great company, opening for Buzzcocks at New York City's Irving Plaza in April 2015, even before releasing their debut album. This four-piece is made up of Jim Browne(guitar, lead and backing vocals, violin), Matt Revie (guitar, keyboards, glockenspiel), Jason Binnick (bass, backing vocals, keyboards, cello) and Travis Harrison (drums, percussion).

It's been a few years since the band's first full-length album 'Beeline to the A-List', released in 2017 with some of the material recorded at Brooklyn's legendary BC Studio, run by Martin Bisi, Like many artists, Covid and its lockdowns put a dent in any tangible plans for the band. Additional material was recorded by bassist Jason Binnick and former drummer Kevin Hudson, who ended up moving out of New York during the pandemic. The band ultimately went on hiatus... until now..

As the world began to return to normal, Jim Browne spearheaded the effort to record new material at Serious Business Records in Brooklyn with Travis Harrison (Guided By Voices, Built To Spill), who also joins the band on drums and percussion, adding some notable pizzazz. This EP was mastered at Listen Up Studios by Jamal Ruhe (Guided by Voices, Phoebe Bridgers, Death, Jimmy Eat World, Misfits).

"I wrote 'Tired of Monsters' in 2020 when you couldn’t turn on the news without seeing one form of monster or another. I wrote 'No Use' shortly after. We first recorded those two songs, along with 'Work Out Right', which I had written much earlier. On this song, I play a repeated note on the very violin that my grandfather bought with him when they moved from Ireland to Harlem in 1926," explains Jim Browne.

"Having just three songs recorded, I thought to myself that this is neither a single nor EP. Then I wrote 'Time Turns to Memories', a big sounding recording that we pulled out all the bells and whistles for. I had the song 'Escape' kicking around for a long time. I recorded it live to tape at Jason’s and said it needs some ambient noise added. Jason picked up a cello, which I didn’t even know he owned and laid down a great track.  That’s when I knew we had a complete and really good EP."

As of February 16, the 'Heavy Dream Cycle' EP is available from fine online music platforms, including Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon.  The full EP can be ordered directly from the band.

High On Fire announce new album 'Cometh the Storm'

Iconic U.S. rock band, High on Fire , will release its new LP, ' Cometh the Storm ', on April 19 via MNRK Heavy. The GRAMMY Award-winning group, celebrating its 25th anniversary, recorded ' Cometh the Storm ' at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts with producer Kurt Ballou. The 11-song effort -- the band's ninth studio album -- marks the release of the first new High on Fire music since 2018's 'Electric Messiah' and the first to feature drummer  Coady Willis (Big Business, Murder City Devils), alongside bassist Jeff Matz , and guitarist/vocalist Matt Pike .

'Cometh the Storm ' is advanced by the lead track, "Burning Down", and a haunting, fever dream video, directed by Lars Kristoffer Hormander.

“Burning Down” kicks off with a classic Pike riff,” says  Jeff Matz . “I think this song harkens back to the early High On Fire sound, but infused with fresh, new elements. It has a killer groove that you can really sink into. The body of the song took shape in our PNW rehearsal space, and we came up with the bridge/solo section and finalized the arrangement while we were at GodCity. Kurt Ballou’s input as a producer was also hugely helpful. His keen ears and fresh perspective were invaluable in making this album.”

PRE-ORDER

“I think this band’s always had a really good drive,” states Matt Pike . “It’s a different entity. It’s its own thing. Which, I think, makes all of us very proud to be a part of it. It’s not an average band.”

“Being a fan of each other’s bands for a long time, it feels like all bets are off and anything goes which is a liberating feeling,” shares Willis . “That feeling of making something out of all of these imperfect parts and it becomes this magical, weird, new idea that none of us ever anticipated. Against all odds. That’s the joy of it.”

“It’s interesting, whenever there’s a lineup change in a band,” offers producer Kurt Ballou . “It can take a little while to rebuild. But it’s also an opportunity to reinvigorate the band and I think that’s what’s happened here.”

THE HELLACOPTERS | Release Documentary 'Let's Talk Grande Rock Revisited'

Swedish high energy rock 'n' roll legends The Hellacopters have released a documentary called 'Let's Talk Grande Rock Revisited' in which they share interesting background information on the double album Grande Rock Revisited that's out today via Nuclear Blast Records

(the digital album has a reversed order with Grand Rock Revisited followed by Grande Rock (remastered))

Swedish high energy rock and roll band The Hellacopters released their eighth studio album titled Eyes Of Oblivion on April 1st, 2022. It marked the first full-length since the release of their temporary farewell record Head Off in 2008, and was met with massive acclaim from fans and media alike. Charting #1 in Sweden, #3 in Germany, #6 in Finland, the band celebrated a triumphant return culminating in a show with the mighty Iron Maiden in Gothenburg in July 2022, and gigs with Ghost in Germany in June 2023.

On February 16th, 2024 they will now release not one, but two stunning versions of their classic Grande Rock album. Entitled Grande Rock Revisited it has been remastered by Henke Jonsson, and furthermore has been completely remixed by Michael Ilbert at Hansa Studios, Berlin using the original multi-track tapes and reanimated with a whole lot of additional layers of rock! The result showcases how the record could have sounded in a parallel universe with Dregen being in the band at the time, and with a more balanced mix, something the band had been pondering about for quite a while. “We all love loud guitars”, Nicke explains, “but not at the expense of drums and bass, which is pretty much the gist of the original mix. It’s ALL guitars”. So whether you do not want to spend way over 100 Euro for one of the rare original LPs or are excited to hear a revamped, re-rocked new mix of Grande RockGrande Rock Revisited gives you both plus a double-album-cover design by singer/guitarist Nicke added as visual treat on top. The Hellacopters make Rock Grande again!

Make Sure to Release New Album "June" on 4/12, Share "Infinite Rail"

Auburn, Alabama's Make Sure, the project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Aubrey Jackson, will release the sophomore albumJune on April 12. Pre-order it here.

Today, the Alabama-based artist has dropped the new single "Infinite Rail." Listen below

If you are a child of the '80s and '90s, you will want to listen up and pay attention to this one!

"'Infinite Rail' is a nod to an old cheat code featured in the Tony Hawk skateboarding video games," the artist says. "You could turn it on to make your character have flawless balance. I thought that was a tongue-in-cheek way of talking about maintaining healthy behaviors in my own life."

On his second record for Tooth & Nail Records, singer/songwriter Joshua Jackson provides another helping of spiritual and conversational indie rock in his latest offering June. Following his label debut, 2021's Ninjutsu, Jackson returns with a more expansive sonic palette without sacrificing the emotional vulnerability and intimacy that has defined his work for more than a decade. Balancing an evening-drive-with-the-windows-down soundscape with yearning lyrics, these songs work from the understanding of hurt, but in spite of it, they speak "I can still get up and try." From end to end, June is filled with deeply empathetic songwriting and marks Jackson as an artist of great heart and talent.

Lightworker Announce New Album "How the Beautiful Decay" + Share "First Light" Video

San Francisco's Lightworker Joe Calderon [vocals], Grayson Hurd[guitar], and Ryan Johnson [drums]  will drop their new album How the Beautiful Decay on April 19 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the video for "First Light." Watch it below.

"As a band, each member hit a rough patch at least once the last few years," Lightworker explain. "The song broaches on those struggles with unflinching honesty about where our minds went. However, no matter how vivid and intrusive those thoughts became, hanging on for a glimpse of the next day was a simple yet powerful reminder that life is a gift of peaks and valleys worth experiencing."

"When we were first discussing the musical direction and what the record would be about, the title How The Beautiful Decay popped into my head and stayed there," shares Hurd about the album's overall vibe. "'Decay' suggests changing and withering over time. Often, you don't notice until years down the line that it started a long time ago. We noticed the decay happening in our own lives slowly but surely during the pandemic — we couldn't see friends and family and we were stuck in our homes for a period, not sure what to do. It wasn't until we had begun writing the record when we really noticed the effect this change had taken on us, for better or worse.

"The title encompasses what we were going through and had gone through over the prior two years. The record is about recognizing the beauty in the world, but still acknowledging the darkness without fear and doing whatever you can to find a way through it."

Lightworker first emerged with the Resilience EP in 2017. Their signature sound cemented on 2020's full-length debut, Fury by Failure. It tallied over a million streams powered up by the likes of "Empyre," "The Willing Martyr," and "Words Dissolve" [feat. Ryan Kirby of Fit For A King]. Meanwhile, a 2021 cover of the Hoobastank hit "Crawling in the Dark" maintained their momentum. During 2022, they recorded How The Beautiful Decay with Beau Burchell of Saosin in the producer's chair. The musicians made a conscious decision to let their heavier impulses lead the way in the studio. As a result, How the Beautiful Decay is a master class in beautiful brutality.

Morgan Wallen Bringing 6-Story This Bar to Downtown Nashville in 2024

One of the most recognized entertainers of today and Tennessee native, Morgan Wallen, announces he will open a one-of-a-kind six-story venue, called “This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen” in 2024.  It will be a bar, restaurant and live music concept in downtown Nashville’s iconic Lower Broadway district.

Wallen, who The New York Times calls “the biggest country star of the 2020s — and one of the biggest stars in pop, period,” has partnered with trusted Broadway owner and operator TC Restaurant Group to bring his vision to life and deliver an experience true to himself and unique to the market.

“I sing about finding myself in ‘this bar’ and now it’s coming to life. This venue will hold true to everything I love and is inspired by my fans and the way they have embraced me and my music,” said Wallen. “We’re designing a menu around some of my family favorites, so it brings a piece of East Tennessee to Music City. I hope This Bar is a place you’ll want to find yourself in and make memories with your friends and family and celebrate the way country music has brought us all together.”

Since launching his career, Wallen has primarily shared his music and stories with fans directly on the road at his live shows, and This Bar is an extension of the boy from East Tennessee’s life. Paying homage to growing up in Tennessee, This Bar will incorporate pivotal elements that shaped Wallen’s life, with each level showcasing photos and memorabilia from his childhood as well as some of his most notable performances to date.

This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen is designed and built from the ground up to deliver a unique experience on 4th Avenue adjacent to the historic Ryman Auditorium just off Broadway in the heart of Music City. The venue will be approximately 30,000 square feet and feature three live music stages, six bars and an open-air rooftop.

The menu will be curated by Wallen with Chef Tomasz Wosiak, Vice President of Culinary Development for TC Restaurant Group, and feature southern delectables, bar bites, Tennessee favorites and some of Mama Wallen’s own recipes.

The venue will also feature a gift shop with exclusive Morgan Wallen merchandise offerings and, yes, even an homage to his favorite Tennessee team.

“Morgan Wallen is one of the most sought after stars in the music industry, and we are thrilled that he has trusted us to deliver a concept that will bring him closer to his fans, hold fast to his roots and enshrine his name among an exclusive group of artists who can claim international stardom with a Lower Broadway destination fans all over the world seek out,” said Adam Hesler, President at TC Restaurant Group.

Stay tuned for more updates on social media @mwthisbar and @morganwallen and at www.mwthisbar.com.

About Morgan Wallen:
When 11-time 2023 Billboard Music Awards-winner and Top Male Artist Morgan Wallen released his third studio album One Thing At A Time in 2023, its instant success left The New York Times proclaiming Wallen as “one of the biggest stars in pop, period.” One Thing At A Time has remained atop the all-genre Billboard 200 chart for 18 non-consecutive weeks, tying Garth Brooks’ Ropin’ the Wind with the most weeks at No. 1 for a Country album, and was the most-streamed album of the year on Spotify. The album’s 6x-Platinum single “Last Night” reeled in over 1.5 billion streams globally, becoming the most-streamed song of any genre in the U.S. across Apple Music and Spotify, and the longest running No. 1 solo song in Hot 100 history (16 weeks total).

With 11 chart-toppers at Country radio, Wallen recently wrapped his 5 countries/3 continents 57-show One Night At A Time World Tour stadium tour. Playing to over 1 million fans in 2023, Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour was named Pollstar’s Country Tour of the Year, surpassing attendance records in numerous stops; including Ohio Stadium, where Wallen became the largest weekend ever for the venue, shattering records previously held by George Strait and Taylor Swift. Resuming this April in Indianapolis, Indiana, the 2024 extension of One Night At A Time takes Wallen to 29 additional stadium-plays. Wallen donates $3 from every U.S. ticket sold to his Morgan Wallen Foundation.

Darius Rucker Shares Life Story Through Song With Memoir "Life's Too Short" Out May 28

“If I look back at my life and try to see into my past, everything seems blurry. But then I lean in and start to hear something. Melodies. Chords. Harmonies. Lyrics. This book is the story of my life as told through twenty-three songs that took me away, soaring, starting at ground level, living in a poor but happy home, never wanting for much more, enjoying what I had, even when times got tough, because I had my escape, my refuge, my music.”
—
Darius Rucker

This May, LIFE’S TOO SHORT: A Memoir by Darius Rucker, a raw, heartfelt memoir from the three-time Grammy Award–winning, multi-Diamond-selling lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish and country music sensation arrives via Dey Street Books.

Raised by a single mother in Charleston, South Carolina, Rucker co-founded Hootie & the Blowfish with three classmates at the University of South Carolina in 1986. What began as a party band playing frat houses and dive bars quickly became a global rock pop phenomenon through their Double Diamond-certified debut album Cracked Rear View, featuring the era-defining hit songs “Only Wanna Be With You,” “Let Her Cry” and “Hold My Hand.” Rucker has since also charted a pioneering path as a solo Country music artist, with Diamond-certified hit “Wagon Wheel” plus timeless anthems such as “Alright” and “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” while sharing the stage and a mic with the likes of David Crosby, Al Green, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Adele, Taylor Swift, and more.

Now multiple decades into his illustrious career, Rucker tells the story of his life through the lens of the music that made him, including songs by everyone from Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder to R.E.M., KISS, Prince and, of course, his own music with Hootie and as a solo artist. He recounts the unlikely ascent of his band and wild tales of his road-hardened life—one filled with stumbles, missteps and battles with demons, but ultimately resulting in triumph. Candid, entertaining, and moving, LIFE’S TOO SHORT is a classic story of a man and his music.

On "Dark -2.-2", Darkspace defy the conventional boundaries of black metal. Fractal electronic samples slice through layers of extraterrestrial drones. Glitchy murmurs - like whispers from the outer reaches - are swallowed deep inside the band's vast, unknown aura.

Season of Mist reissued all of Darkspace's catalogue on CD and vinyl this year. Listen from Dark Space -I to Dark Space III I and hear how their hypnotic and otherworldly sound has influenced modern black metal.

Georgia-based UK avant-pop artist NICK HUDSON unveils 'Khevsureti' single, previewing new album 'Kanda Teenage Honey'

“Beautifully written, recorded, produced and arranged... all complimented by vocal that lives up to the same standard. No cheating, no fronting, just honest crafted musicality”  ~ Billy Gould (Faith No More)

"Kanda Teenage Honey is shockingly emotional, thoughtfully orchestrated and wonderfully curious lyrically. It is a record for true music lovers" ~ Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu)

"There isn’t really anyone making music like Nick Hudson“ ~ The Quietus

“Nick Hudson is a unique talent. His song writing and performances are breathtaking.  He is long overdue being heard by a wider audience. This solo album is a peak in an already stellar career” ~ Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai)

"Scott Walker channeling Coil” ~ MOJO Magazine

"Genius” - BBC Radio (BBC Introducing)

British alternative pop artist  Nick Hudson presents 'Khevsureti', the second single from his forthcoming album 'Kanda Teenage Honey', following up the lead track 'For My Silence'.

Recorded largely in Georgia under the shadow of the Ukraine war, featuring some incredible Georgian musicians in a huge former Soviet movie studio, this album was recorded and engineered by Ilya Lukashev at Leno Studio and Sano Studio in Tbilisi. and then mixed by Toby Driver and mastered to analogue tape by Paul Pascoe at Church Road Studios in Hove.

"I started writing 'Khevsureti' the day I arrived in Tbilisi in 2021; early January, as icicles dangled from the cliffs by a frozen waterfall. It was the last song to be completed. Khevsureti is a mountainous region in Northern Georgia by the Chechen border. I try to repair here as often as possible to escape the chugging white noise of the city. The whole area thrums with a pagan energy that balances nature’s serenity and brutality in the true essence of the sublime," says Nick Hudson.

"Despite being ostensibly an Orthodox country, animal sacrifices are still performed here on sacred pagan days.  There is a necropolis right by the Chechen border – one of the most intense sites I've ever visited.  Every time I visit the region, I encounter some mode of profundity. I wrote a lot of the album up here, often in dreams and visions infused by the mountain air, hallucinating bears and taking long midnight walks into a night unsullied by light pollution. So this song is a secular hymn of gratitude to the region for being kind to me in moments of grief and providing glimpses of Herzogian ecstasy in spells of joy."

Directed, filmed and edited by Nick Hudson, this video was filmed in various locations in Georgia: Korsha, the Abudelauri Lakes, Roshka, the Datvisjvari Pass, Shatili and Tbilisi.

A prolific figure on the UK music scene, Hudson released his latest album 'Font Of Human Fractures' in 2021, followed by the 'K69996ROMA:EP' later that year. His band The Academy of Sun had released their opus album 'The Quiet Earth' the year before.

Nick's vast output also encompasses painting, film, and a novel. Hudson has also collaborated with Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Matthew Seligman (Bowie, Tori Amos, Morrissey), members of Kayo Dot, David Tibet (Current 93), Asva, queercore icon GB Jones, as well as Massive Attack's Shara Nelson. Apart from touring 3 continents, highlights include shows with Mogwai, Toby Driver and Keith Abrams (Kayo Dot), and Timba Harris (Mr Bungle, Amanda Palmer).

Hudson also just released his book 'The Land Exists So The Seas Don't Argue'. Limited to 50 numbered and signed copies, this is the first volume of his lyrical output over a decade, encompassing five albums plus ephemera  – satellite poems that inhabit the same world as each of the primary cosmologies. This collection embodies a searing intensity and unity of vision - paganism, queer love, grief, death, ecstasy, radical politics, social satire, hymns to nature, her rhythms and forces. The book also features a foreword by renowned Scottish author Chris Kelso.

On February 15, the 'Khevsureti' single will be available on Bandcamp, followed by other platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music. The full album 'Kanda Teenage Honey' will be released on March 15.

Includes 200-page Carl Palmer ‘Fanfare For The Common Man’ autobiography book with rare photos

Exclusive Blu-Ray video documentary ‘The Rhythm of Life’

RELEASED BY BMG ON APRIL 5th, 2024

Carl Frederik Kendall Palmer was born on March 20th, 1950 in Birmingham, England.  His upbringing was far from smooth, his real father passed away when Carl was only two years old. Raised by his step father in a very music minded family, Carl Palmer received his first drum on his 10th birthday and thus began a 60-year career that has seen Carl appear on a staggering 50 million selling albums.

Now, BMG are proud to bring together Carl’s impressive career across a 3 CD and 1 x Blu Ray Box Set featuring music and visuals from the Carl Palmer Band, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Asia and various other Carl Palmer affiliated bands & artists among them- The Craig, Chris Farlowe, Atomic Rooster and Mike Oldfield. The Blu-Ray disc ‘The Rhythm of Life’ is an audio-visual documentary, narrated by Carl Palmer with live & exclusive behind-the-scenes footage featuring: ELP, ASIA, Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Carl Palmer Band & ELP Legacy. Also included is a 200-page autobiography which is wonderfully illustrated with photos from Carl’s personal archive.

Growing up in 1960s Birmingham to a soundtrack of Elvis, Gene Krupa, Dave Brubeck and Buddy Rich, it was a really innovative and exciting time for young Carl. He joined his first band The King Bees when he was just 15 and, after renaming themselves The Craig, Carl got his first taste of chart success with the explosive freakbeat single ‘I Must Be Mad’ which thankfully appears in this collection. From that point on, Carl never looked back and after stints with Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds, the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Atomic Rooster which Carl founded with Vincent Crane, in 1970 he joined forces with the Nice’s Keith Emerson and King Crimson’s Greg Lake and ELP were born. ELP ruled the 1970s with classic albums such as ‘Tarkus’ and ‘Works’, but the trio stopped working together in 1979. Carl then went on to form yet another supergroup, this time joining forces with Steve Howe and Geoff Downes of Yes alongside King Crimson’s John Wetton to form ASIA. ASIA scored big with huge selling tunes such as ‘Heat of The Moment’ the ruled the FM airwaves and the then newly launched MTV.

After his success with ASIA, Carl reunited with Keith Emerson and with vocalist Robert Berry under the name ‘3’ and two of their songs, ‘Desda La Vida’ and a prog-pop version of the Byrds’ psychedelic classic ‘Eight Miles High’ also appear in this collection. In 1992, ELP reunited for 3 albums and several tours before making their final live appearance at the 2010 High Voltage Festival held in front of 30,000 adoring fans in London’s Victoria Park.

Between 2001 and 2021, Carl Palmer has played in his own trio with Paul Bielatowicz on guitar and Simon Fitzpatrick on bass/Chapman stick. Under the name ELP Legacy they have continued to reinvent the ground-breaking work of ELP which features throughout Disc 3.

Carl Palmer is currently on tour in the USA, with the acclaimed RETURN OF EMERSON LAKE & PALMER show, which combines rare footage of KEITH EMERSON and GREG LAKE from ELP’s 1992 Royal Albert Hall shows with Palmer and his Legacy band live on stage all playing together. Tickets available at http://www.ELPTickets.com  and hopes to bring it to the UK and other countries in the near future.

As Carl Palmer approaches his 74th birthday, he shows no sign of resting on his laurels. Aside from all his ELP related work, Carl continues to make innovative art through his Carl Palmer ‘Art Of Giving’ foundation, raising large sums of money for charity in the process.

This fine collection is everything you need to know about the boy from Birmingham who rose to the very top through hard work and dedication to his craft. A true Fanfare For The Common Man.

Disc 4: Blu-Ray Video The Rhythm of Life
Carl Palmer discusses his career featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and images featuring Frank Sinatra, Carmine Appice, Buddy Rich, Tommy Iommi, Alice Cooper and more.

Boston Manor Share "Container" Video

It marks the first new music from the band in 2024 as they make their return in impassioned and ambitious mood. Full of thrust and intention, "Container" is rich with depth and groove, offering an early signpost to where their sound is taking them next: from parallel universes to personal growth, vivid dreamscapes to raw grief.

Lead singer Henry Cox says, "'Container' explores the idea of second chances, the panic that sets in knowing you need to change your world before it's too late, and you get swallowed up and lost forever. It's about the stagnancy of life creeping up on you and how that can bring about change."

Change is a color that Boston Manor wear well, and "Container" signals the first step in a bold and inspiring new journey.

Working with long-time producer Larry Hibbitt, alongside engineer Alex O'Donovan, the band switched recording from London to the leafier pastures of the home counties. "Because Larry lives out in the countryside now, it was a way different environment and way different experience recording this time," lead guitarist Mike Cunniff remembers.

There's a brightness to "Container" that feels like purposeful about-turn from the darkness of [2022 album] Datura.

As a band known for using their music to make bigger statements about society, "Container" is by contrast a look inwards, as they harness the uplifting power of their music and the communion it creates.

Cox concludes, "I think it's really important to write something that people can be immersed in and find some sort of solace in."
