Comeback Kid Release Video for 20th Anniversary Version of Classic Song "Wake the Dead"

Winnipeg hardcore band COMEBACK KID are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal album WAKE THE DEAD.

The band is releasing a re-recorded version of the title track of the record.

"The title track of our album Wake The Dead, which that we released two decades ago, provided us with more opportunities and brought us to more places around the world than we could have ever imagined," remembers singer Andrew Neufeld with fondness for how the album impacted the band's life and that of fans. "The song lands as the biggest moment in every single set that we've played — from Asia through South America to Europe, Africa, and North America."

He continues, "We wrote and recorded the song while I was still playing guitar in the band. After 19 years of being the vocalist, and singing the song every night, we would like to celebrate and commemorate a song that gave us wings that we never knew existed by re-recording it with our current lineup and with a fresh mix provided by Will Putney."

Watch the video for the re-done version of the song Below:

Neufeld finishes, "We will be releasing the single alongside an unreleased B-side from the original 2005 Wake The Dead recording sessions on 7", along with a number of variations of the full length re-pressed with new packaging!"

The 20th anniversary edition of the song was recorded by John Paul Peters and mixed and mastered by the aforementioned Putney.

Comeback Kid are also embarking on the album's 20th anniversary tour later this month. They will of course play the album in its entirety. It's no coincidence that the first show is in the band's hometown on the date of the original's release — February 22.

Poison the Well Return + Drop First New Song in 15 Years With "Trembling Level" Video

POISON THE WELL released the definitive album The Opposite of December... A Season of Separation in December 1999 and it went on to become a benchmark of the genre that has inspired a generation of bands. The album was chosen as one of the "15 '90s Metalcore Albums That Still Resonate Today" by Brooklyn Vegan; as one of the "21 Best U.S. Metalcore Albums of All Time" by Kerrang!; as one of the "25 Best Metalcore Albums of All Time" by Loudwire; and as one of the "Top 60 Best Hard Rock Albums of All Time" by Revolver. Its influence is indisputable.

But the band is not content to rest on the laurels of its past achievements, as mighty as those achievements are.

Instead, PTW are looking forward in 2025 by releasing their first new song in 15 years with "Trembling Level."

Watch the video below.

"Trembling Level" finds Poison the Well in top form. Harmonics pierce the armor of a thick riff, and a guttural groove tosses and turns beneath Jeff Moreira's hard-hitting screams. The barrage subsides on an arresting bridge anchored by a dramatic drumroll. A final melodic warning, "Don't you let the silhouettes lead you to the ocean floor," gives way to one last pit-splitting breakdown.

"For me, I was trying to figure how to effectively incorporate elements from our whole discography into one song," guitarist Ryan Primack reveals. "We ended up with this, and it has a little bit of everything we've done throughout the course of our existence."

"Lyrically, it's about tackling a fear," says Moreira. "I tend to write based on personal experience. You're approaching something you're scared to do, going through it, and realizing the hardest parts are actually the ones you should be looking towards because those will lead you to success.”

In other Poison the Well News, the band has signed with SharpTone Records. More new music is expected, so stay tuned. The band also fortifies its ranks by officially welcoming bassist Noah Harmon and guitarist Vadim Taver into the fold. Both musicians have played with the group for
years. Now, they round out the lineup.

Last year, PTW announced a massive 25th anniversary tour celebrating The Opposite of December... A Season of Separation this spring.

PTW will be playing the beloved album in full every night, making it show not to be missed.

Glassjaw, Better Lovers, and Teenage Wrist will serve as support. New dates have been added in Mesa, Arizona and Lawrence, Kansas.

All dates are below and in the graphic. Get tickets here.

"For me, The Opposite of December... represents everything I absorbed as a teenager: the shows, the music, the raw energy of hardcore and punk. I never imagined that record would still resonate 25 years later. Seeing people continue to connect with it inspires me every day, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities this band has given me," says singer Jeff Moreira. "This upcoming tour is so much more than just a series of shows. It's a celebration of that record, its impact, and the journey we've shared together. We've worked hard to make it special in every way — from the lineup, featuring Glassjaw, Better Lovers, and Teenage Wrist, to the merch, the setlist, and the production. It's all about honoring The Opposite of December... and the listeners who've supported us through the years."

He finishes, "For this to be our first tour in 15 years feels unreal. I can't wait to celebrate with everyone in April. Open the door for your friend."

No Cure Share "The Basement Beneath the Fountain" Video

NO CURE — comprised of Blaythe Steuer [vocals], Aesop Mongo [guitar], Kyle Ray [guitar], Jake Murnane [bass], and Duncan Newey [drums] — recently announced their signing to SharpTone Records. The quintet, who released their debut EP back in 2022 and has been touring relentlessly ever since, will release the new concept EP I Hope I Die Here on December 6. Pre-order the eight-track EP here, which will include a limited run of double 7" vinyl, cassettes,  and a CD.

On the EP, the band delivers an inimitable hybrid of gritty basement-bred hardcore boosted by death metal proficiency and explosive unpredictability.

The EP features guests on every track, including Daniel McWhorter from Gideon and Matthew Hasting of MyChildren MyBride, among others. All features are highlighted in the track listing below. "Every track features someone that has made an undeniable mark on Alabama hardcore over the years," the band explains about inviting so many of its friends to contribute to the release. "We do not expect you to recognize every name on this record, and that's the point."

Today, they have dropped the new single "The Basement Beneath the Fountain." Watch the video below.

The song features Kayhan Vaziri of Wretched Blessing + Yautja.

"This is a normal song," says Steuer. "Don't worry about it. There is no reason to be alarmed. That’s just what it sounds like. 33.50074° N, 86.79610° W."

As for the EP as a whole, the band reveals, "I Hope I Die Here is a love letter to Alabama and the Southeastern experience. It is an acknowledgment of suffering, and a proclamation of strength. This record is conceptually driven and more musically diverse than our previous EPs, on purpose. There is a distinct reason for each song to exist. We approach many topics, including what it's like to grow up under the boot of religion, fraternity culture, the dark side of a beloved landmark, local ecological exploitation, and more. We do not believe the world needs any more songs about how craaaaaazyyy of a guy you are, how much you hate your town, or how your ex was such a *checks notes* bitch for breaking up with you because you cheated on her."

Clearly, No Cure did NOT come to play.

VUKOVI Share Video For "MISTY ECSTASY" — WATCH

VUKOVI have returned with the second single from their upcoming album, MY GOD HAS GOT A GUN, which is set for release on January 24 via SharpTone Records.

Watch the video below.

"MISTY ECSTASY" is a vibrant statement of sexual empowerment and a shining beacon of the joy that it can bring. The track arrives alongside a Saltburn-inspired music video that pairs the sensual-yet-self-assured nature of the song with an almost supernatural eeriness and unquantifiable sense of danger.

Janine Shilstone reinforces the sentiments of the song by saying, "The most fun/tongue-in-cheek song we’ve created. We wanted to put out something that could cut through a very dark and uncertain time for this day and age. Sex should be fun and safe without judgement. OUR BODY OUR CHOICE."

Pre-order and pre-save MY GOD HAS GOT A GUN here.

ABOUT VUKOVI:
As the world waited with bated breath for new material, VUKOVI embarked on their first co-headlining tour across the United States with brethren Calva Louise, supported metal titans Babymetal across the UK, and conquered a number of major music festivals such as Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple, Download Festival, Rock For People, and Graspop (to name a few). How they found the time to crisscross the globe, leaving a trail of electrified audiences in their wake, remains a mystery.

Some say that when VUKOVI takes the stage, the air hums with a strange electricity, and time itself seems to bend, as if the band is channelling something otherworldly.

We asked the band for comment, but were offered no answers, only more questions.

Their songs tell stories that are both intensely personal and universally relatable, exploring themes of mental health, love, and the human condition with a sharp edge. Yet, beneath the surface, there's always an undercurrent of something darker, a sense that the music is a portal to a world just beyond the veil of our reality.

As VUKOVI continue to carve their path through the rock landscape, one thing is certain: they are a band unlike any other, a force of nature that refuses to be tamed or fully understood. They invite us to join them on their journey, to explore the uncharted territories of sound and emotion, but they do so on their terms. In the end, perhaps it's the mystery that makes VUKOVI so compelling — a reminder that in a world where everything seems knowable, there are still secrets worth keeping

Caskets Share "Better Way Out" Video

NEW ALBUM REFLECTIONS OUT AUGUST 11 VIA SHARPTONE RECORDS

Yorkshire melodic metallers Caskets, who recently announced their new album Reflections for an August 11 release on SharpTone Records, have today released an affirming new single "Better Way Out."

Watch the video
below.

Speaking of the track, frontman Matt Flood says, "'Better Way Out' is a song that relates to suicidal thoughts and tendencies. It's a song about noticing and understanding the trials and tribulations of life, about rising above the feelings of depression and anxiety and knowing your self-worth. To have somebody say that they see you and they hear you, or to have a community by your side while you go through these daily battles, isn't something afforded to everybody. So many of us can blindly walk through the barriers that we build inside our heads, alone without a shoulder to cry on or a friend to lend an ear."

He continues,"No matter what you've been through and might still be going through... there are always routes out of your situation. You are strong, you are beautiful, you are loved, and you are enough. Don't walk that road alone. We all need each other."

There's an art to looking back. For Caskets, it could have been easy to plough forwards regardless, riding the wave of success from their breakthrough debut Lost Souls (over 80 million streams to date), that opened tours up across the United States and mainland Europe, and secured appearances at landmark festivals Download and Slam Dunk. But having swapped the bedrooms that fostered album number one for countless hours on the road, reflecting on that journey and the decisions that led them down certain paths quickly became unavoidable.

If Lost Souls was primarily driven by Flood's personal experiences, Reflections delivers a wider picture of Caskets as a whole, borne out of the usual interpersonal differences that all bands face at least once in their career. For some it marks the end, but for others, it fosters a collaborative environment that pushes the music well beyond what has come before.

The result reflects each individual member of Caskets, with Matt joined by guitarists Benji Wilson and Craig Robinson, bassist Chris McIntosh, and drummer James Lazenby. The record has more upbeat moments that carry impactful melodies, upping the ante from Lost Souls with considered force, while the powerful ambient moments play out with real finesse.

In a step away from the singular retellings of Lost Souls, the Dan Weller (Bury Tomorrow, Enter Shikari, Holding Absence)-produced Reflections is a series of individual lessons, looking back at a specific moment in one of the band member's lives; a thought, feeling, or events, and how that moment shaped the present.

"Reflections shows how much more we can get out of the band musically if we all put our heads together a bit more," Flood beams, positive about a record that not only showcases Caskets as a full entity but represents the impressive range of influences that have soundtracked the five piece's times on the road and in the studio, helping to rapidly expand their sound. "It's always about the music, that’s the whole point of being in a band," he concludes. "If we can fit as much into our sound but it still sounds like us, that's my lifelong goal with Caskets."

The band have launched pre-orders of a very special run of vinyl, limited to only 1000, featuring an exclusive layout with a 10-page booklet available now from iamdarkbloom.com. Fans can pre-save the album HERE.

Today's announcement is highlighted by the release of brand new single "Plagued" and its accompanying visualizer. Stream the track HERE and watch the visualizer below.

Speaking on the highly anticipated news of the release of their new album, We Came As Romans guitarist, Josh Moore shares

Speaking on their brand new track, "Plagued", We Came As Romans guitarist Josh Moore shares

"We are so excited to finally be able to announce the release of our next record Darkbloom. This will be our first record in five years, and we want to thank you all for being patient with us as we were figuring out if we could, and how we could continue moving forward as a band. We wrote this record about all the feelings we felt, and all the emotional places we lived in, navigating the loss of our brother Kyle. Every song is about a different part of our lives over the past few years, an insight to the struggles we had, and how we were able to make it to where we are now. We hope you all can take a deep dive into these songs and connect with us - and if you're feeling any of the ways we did, we hope these songs can help you push forward.

This record is dedicated to Kyle - we'll never forget you, and we will never stop saying your name."

Speaking on their brand new track, "Plagued", Moore continues

"We've been waiting forever to release this song, and we're stoked to finally put it out! We finished writing Plagued in January 2020, so it's great to finally share it with our fans. My friend who I do a ton of writing with, Nick Sampson, texted me a little video of this idea for a riff he was working on - and I loved it. So I drove over to his place and we finished the song together - and then our friend Ryan Leitru came in and we all sat down and wrote the vocals to it. Over a year later, when we were in the studio recording the album with Drew Fulk - we smoothed out just a few parts and the song was done! And now here we are - over two years later, able to share Plagued with you!

Lyrically, Plagued was about a part in the grieving process we all went through - feeling like the anguish you're dealing with, then anger you're dealing with, is turning you into a different person. That you're watching yourself change into someone you don't want to be - being consumed and overwhelmed by your grief. It's an incredibly difficult thing to live with, and I hope this song can help anyone who's feeling the same way."

Kingsmen Drop 'Trial By Fire'; Brand New Track & Official Music Video

Providence, RI quintet, Kingsmen, have dropped bombastic new single and accompanying music video - "Trial By Fire" today via Sharptone Records. Exhibiting a slight stylistic shift from the band's previous output, the new track exhibits arena-conquering riffing and a phenomenally catchy-but-powerful vocal, courtesy of the clean stylings of frontman Tanner Guimond.

Speaking on "Trial By Fire", Kingsmen frontman Tanner Guimond shares:

"Trial By Fire" was created after we took a full band trip to Gettysburg the day before entering the studio. In December 2020, the world and especially our country seemed extremely divided and tense. Learning about our history and understanding what our past generations of brave men and women endured gave us hope for our future. With that hope, we had an idea. We wanted to create a song that speaks about tension and how tough times can lead to a better future if we can all find a way to come together.

"The music video is full of colors of Red & Blue. We did this to subconsciously highlight that no matter what side of the political/social or economic spectrum you belong to; we all need to merge and come together to create a better future."

"Trial By Fire" is Kingmen's first new, original release since their 2020 debut album, 'Revenge. Forgiveness. Recovery' which spawned popular singles "Nightmare" and "Until I've Departed". The new track marks the beginning of the next era of Kingsmen and sets the scene for their upcoming new album, their second on Sharptone Records - keep it locked for more news on that in due course.

ABOUT KINGSMEN

Setting their sights on achieving what they’ve dubbed a “big metal sound that fills up your whole brain when listening to it between the headphones,” Providence, RI 5-piece, Kingsmen are back with first new single, in two years, "Trial By Fire". Ushering in the dawning of a new era for the band.

Returning with new influences, locations, producers, and creative process compared to their 2020 debut, 'Revenge. Forgiveness. Recovery", things were naturally bound to change. The point of a successful evolution is becoming the best version of oneself. And to do so, remaining true to one’s core elements is a vital factor. As a result, the band didn’t aim for a trend, they made a point to return to their roots. Reflecting on his classical training, frontman, Tanner Guimond even found himself rediscovering a singing voice he felt he had left in the past long ago, but was destined to revisit.

Choosing to return to their roots, the band embrace the fighting spirit at the core of Kingsmen, connecting with listeners through universal themes and lyrical stories ranging from championing positivity to coming together in the face of adversity. Shining light and hope into all they do is something the band has no intention of changing. As Guimond eloquently puts it,

“To be a kingsman is to be someone that has the courage to endure the worst, but still reflect the best parts of humanity. So, with all of our songs, that’s what we try and showcase. There’s no way that anyone will go through life without experiencing some terrible things. But to grow from that… to become a better person after the fact is, we believe, one of the true purposes of life. Maybe someday we’ll do something wild like a concept album with ogres and elves. But we really believe that when you’re conveying your emotions through music, it comes across when you’re being honest. So as often as we can, and as many different ways possible, there’s no doubt that you’ll see a lot more of that kind of attitude through our music in the future.”
