Singer-songwriter Dan Marshall releases his new single “Middle Man” , a grounded, blue-collar anthem that leans into the perspective on which country music has always been built. The new single, on Red Van Records, is out now.
Written by Marshall alongside Walker Wilson and John Stephens, “Middle Man” captures the pride, grit and resilience of everyday Americans. Built around boots to work before sunrise, putting food on the table and getting back up when life knocks you down, the song paints a clear picture of a life lived somewhere between tradition and survival, or as the chorus puts it, “somewhere between Jesus and Jones.”
“I grew up and my values are somewhere in the middle, working hard, figuring it out as you go,” said Marshall. “That’s been my story since I moved to Nashville. ‘Middle Man’ felt like the right way to say that and hopefully connect with people who see themselves the same way.”
“Middle Man” finds Marshall leaning into a sound that feels both classic and current, pairing plainspoken lyrics with a steady, singalong chorus that speaks directly to the genre’s core audience. It is a song rooted in identity, one that recognizes the value of hard work, community and the people who often go unseen.
A Virginia native, Marshall began his musical journey on piano at age 12 before teaching himself guitar at 18. He started sharing original music in 2021 and quickly found traction with his authentic voice and storytelling. His 2023 releases “She Wants A Ring” and “Heaven’s Honky Tonk” marked early milestones, with the latter generating more than one million views on TikTok.
Since moving to Nashville in the fall of 2022, Marshall has become an active presence in the songwriting community and was named one to watch by Country Wire in 2024 alongside Ella Langley and Zach Top.
With “Middle Man,” Marshall continues to carve out his space, delivering a song that feels lived in and familiar, while reminding listeners that there are still plenty of stories left to tell from the middle.
“Middle Man” is available everywhere.
ACM SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE BLAKE PENDERGRASS NOTCHES FIFTH NO. 1 WITH “AIN’T A BAD LIFE”
ACM Awards’ Songwriter of the Year nominee Blake Pendergrass notches his fifth No. 1 single with his co-penned “Ain’t A Bad Life,” recorded by Thomas Rhett featuring Jordan Davis. The achievement follows a string of recent chart-toppers, including Jelly Roll’s “Heart of Stone,” Morgan Wallen’s “20 Cigarettes,” “I Got Better,” and “Just In Case,” with the latter holding the top spot on country radio for four consecutive weeks.
Tonight, Pendergrass will celebrate his first CMA Triple Play Award for “Just In Case,” “Heart of Stone,” and “I Got Better.”
“This entire last week has felt surreal,” says the man Wallen praised as “one of the best songwriters in Nashville.” “So many of my mentors, heroes and friends have experienced these firsts, and I’m fortunate to have such great champions in this town who continue to give me great advice along the way. The latest being: to sit in this moment as the kid arriving at Belmont with just two songs ever written to his name.”
Pendergrass’s momentum is palpable, with another hit penned by the North Carolina native sitting inside the Top 10, “Brunette,” recorded by ACM Top New Male nominee Tucker Wetmore, while also ranking inside the Top 5 of MusicRow Magazine’s Top Songwriter chart. The Tennessean praises Pendergrass’s “stunning run,” while Billboard recognizes the young writer on its Hot 100 Songwriters and Country Songwriters charts. His hits have now amassed more than one billion streams.
His recent work includes writing credits on seven tracks from Jelly Roll’s GRAMMY-winning album Beautifully Broken and contributions to two 2025 CMA Album of the Year nominees, including 15 songs on Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem and Lainey Wilson’s award-winning album Whirlwind. Pendergrass is also a 2025 MusicRow Awards nominee for Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year and was named Country Credits’ Songwriter of the Year 2025.

KEVIN JONAS SR. TO RELEASE “KEY OF YOU” ON MARCH 13
On March 13, Kevin Jonas Sr. will release “Key Of You,” a heartfelt new song written by acclaimed Grammy Award-winning songwriter Marcus Hummon and Bryan Simpson. The deeply personal love song is dedicated to his wife of 40 years, Denise, and reflects a lifetime partnership rooted in music, faith, family and perseverance.
Long before he became known as the father of global superstars the Jonas Brothers, Kevin Jonas Sr. was a musician and songwriter himself. While he has spent decades guiding his sons’ careers and building businesses of his own, he rarely steps into the spotlight as an artist. “Key Of You” was different. Available on Red Van Records, you can pre-save/pre-add the song HERE.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Marcus Hummon, and I’m honored he trusted me with this song,” says Kevin. “Denise and I are celebrating 40 years of marriage this year, and this is really my anniversary gift to her. We’ve been through so many changes, ups and downs, celebrations and pain. I’m fortunate to have someone who believed in me, who saw not just where I was but what I could become. She tolerates my quirks, and in spite of me, she’s still here. I’m still amazed and grateful I get to celebrate this life with her.”
The song captures the steady, enduring love the couple shares, a relationship that has carried them through every season of life, including Kevin’s battle with colon cancer.
In 2017, Kevin was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer after initially ignoring early warning signs. Fortunately, doctors caught it before it spread. Today, he is cancer-free and committed to using his voice to encourage others not to wait.
“I should not have ignored the signs,” Kevin shares. “I was blessed they caught it early. Getting tested is simple, and it can save your life. If sharing my story helps even one person go get checked, it’s worth it.”
The timing of “Key Of You” is especially significant, arriving during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March. Through this release, Kevin hopes not only to celebrate enduring love, but also to raise awareness about the importance of early detection.
At its core, “Key Of You” is a love song. But in this season of reflection and awareness, it also stands as a testament to resilience, gratitude, faith and the gift of love and life.
As a songwriter and musician, Kevin passed his passion for music on to his sons, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jr., helping lay the foundation for the success of the Jonas Brothers. Today, that same spirit of family and purpose continues through Jonas Group Entertainment and his family restaurant, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen.
“Key Of You” will be available on all digital streaming platforms on March 13.

The Band Light Returns with Cinematic New Song "Worlds" and Four-Track EP
Rising pop-rock group The Band Light continues to build momentum with their new single “Worlds,” out today, January 23, on Red Van Records. The track marks the band’s first release of the new year and signals a deeper, more atmospheric turn in their evolving cool, immersive and emotionally charged sound. Listen to the song below.
Written by Konnor Dolberry, Trevor Young, Garrett Goodrich and Jack Glenn, “Worlds” focuses on the gradual shift that happens when two people are no longer on the same page. With cosmic imagery, the song captures distance forming without fully letting go.
Working with legendary producer John Fields, “Worlds” is built on moody textures, restrained intensity and a slow-burning chorus that captures the push and pull of a relationship drifting out of sync.
“‘Worlds’ is about realizing you’re orbiting the same person, but no longer landing in the same place,” shares the band. “It’s that moment where you’re fighting the silence, fighting the distance and wondering if coming back down is even possible.”
The song is also the title track for their new EP, also available today, and includes the recently released songs “All I Need,” “Dreamboat” and “Turning Red.” The Band Light continues to sharpen its identity as storytellers. Known for blending emotional depth with modern pop-rock sensibilities, the band has already surpassed one million streams on independently released music and toured nationally, opening for Quarters of Change and New Hope Club.
With its cinematic scope and visual-forward storytelling, “Worlds” positions The Band Light as a group unafraid to lean into vulnerability while expanding their sonic universe – one emotional orbit at a time.

The Band Light Unveils Hypnotic New Song "Dreamboat" Out Now via Red Van Records
Pop-rock group The Band Light returns with their infectious new song “Dreamboat,” released today on Red Van Records. Written by band members Konnor Dolberry and Trevor Young, and produced by multi-platinum hitmaker John Fields (Jonas Brothers, Switchfoot, Demi Lovato), the track captures the messy magic of infatuation with lyrical bite and sonic sparkle. Listen below.
Fronted by Konnor Dolberry (lead vocals), alongside Jack Glenn (bass/vocals), Garrett Goodrich (lead guitar/vocals) and Trevor Young (drums/vocals), The Band Light formed through a high school music production class and quickly found undeniable chemistry both on and off the stage. Since then, they’ve built a dedicated fanbase and amassed over one million streams across platforms.
Built around a hypnotic groove and late-night confessions, “Dreamboat” captures the messy thrill of desire and emotional chaos. With lines like “So call me up / When we’re both drunk / And fill my cup / I’m all stirred up,” the song mixes raw vulnerability with tongue-in-cheek charm – an intoxicating cocktail of heartache and hookiness. Dolberry and Young blend their lyrical edge with crisp, shimmering production, giving “Dreamboat” a sound both familiar and new.
“‘Dreamboat’ lives in that blurry space between bad decisions and irresistible connection,” the band shares. “It’s equal parts moody and playful – something we think a lot of people can relate to.”
Fans can catch The Band Light live this summer at Musicians Corner in Nashville’s Centennial Park on June 13, joining a season lineup that includes Brittney Spencer, Noah Gundersen, Sixpence None The Richer and more. The group will also perform as special guests for Switchfoot on July 13 at the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater in Illinois.
With “Dreamboat,” The Band Light continues to carve a distinct lane in the pop-rock landscape with infectious energy, sharp musicianship and irresistible charm.
BLAKE SHELTON’S FOR RECREATIONAL USE ONLY — OUT NOW
Hot off his 30th career No. 1 with the twangy, swagger-packed “Texas,” Blake Shelton drops his new album For Recreational Use Only — a 12-track dose of country grit, charm, and heart available now via BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records. Listen Below.
“I can’t believe it’s been four years since we released an album, and I’m excited to get the whole record out there,” said Shelton. “I’ve always been someone who wants to collect great songs but sometimes the hardest thing to do is to find something that hasn’t been said or written before or a melody that we haven't heard. I’m always on the search for that. I look back over the years, and I’m just proud because some of those songs don’t sound like anything else. And I think we did it again with this album.”
To celebrate the release, Shelton performed “Texas” on the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards and he will take over national television next week. On Tuesday, May 13, he’ll perform live from the Today Show Summer Concert Series stage at Rockefeller Plaza before stopping by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later that night. He’ll close out the week on Friday, May 16, with a reunion on The Kelly Clarkson Show, joining his former Voice rival and longtime friend.
One of the most personal cuts on the record is “The Keys,” a melodic slow-burn co-written by HARDY that Shelton says hit him straight in the gut. “You know, I’m not the kind of guy who hangs on to a lot of stuff, but I’ve got this weird habit—I don’t throw away old keys,” Shelton explains. “Apartment keys, truck keys, padlock keys—I keep them all. So this song really got to me. The story, the melody, the way it wraps up at the end... I couldn’t shake it.”
HARDY, who also co-wrote the already released fan-favorite “Let Him In Anyway,” sent Shelton the demo with him specifically in mind. “This one’s more in my lane than his,” Shelton says. “It’s got the feel of those mellow, romantic tracks I’ve done through the years—like ‘Drink On It.’ Songs like this are why I still love making records.”
For Recreational Use Only marks Shelton’s first studio album in four years and his debut on BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. With guests including Gwen Stefani, John Anderson, and Craig Morgan, the project is a rowdy, reflective ride through heartbreak, backroads, and the kind of Southern wisdom you only learn the hard way. “TEXAS” SIZED No. 1 FOR COUNTRY SUPERSTAR BLAKE SHELTON
Country music superstar Blake Shelton has often said that all he ever wanted was to sing country music, have his songs on the radio, and maybe—just maybe—have a No. 1 hit. He achieved that dream with his 2001 debut single “Austin.” This week, he does it again for the 30th time in his career with “Texas,” the lead single from his forthcoming album For Recreational Use Only, out Friday, May 9. The song also enjoyed eight weeks at No. 1 in the U.K. and a two-week run at No. 1 in Canada.
“It’s been a few years since I’ve had a solo No. 1 single, and I’m super fired up about this one,” said Shelton. “I had no idea if ‘Texas’ would be a number one song, but the first time I heard it, I knew that it was something different and it sounded like nothing else I'd ever done before.”
Produced by Shelton’s longtime collaborator Scott Hendricks, Texas was written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr, and Lalo Guzman. The track marks the first No. 1 single for Clawson, Sturrock, and Dorr, and the second for Guzman.
“I'm excited for these songwriters,” Shelton continued. “I know it's some of these guys' first number one song, and anytime you have a situation where someone's getting their big break and you can be a little tiny part of it, it makes it extra special.”
Shelton joins a small country club of artists who have 30 or more No. 1 country singles, including Country Music Hall of Famers George Strait, Alabama, Kenny Chesney, and Ronnie Milsap (based on R&R plus Mediabase statistics kept since 1973). The milestone has him reflecting on the road that brought him here. “‘Texas’ marks my 30th number one as an artist. Thirty is a lot of anything, and to have 30 number one songs is unbelievable, and I’m really trying to take it all in,” he said. “I have to thank the fans and the industry for their support throughout these years.”
“I’ve always been a nerd for stats and things like that in country music,” he added. “I’m always looking up artists’ stats, whether it’s Ronnie Milsap or Alabama or George Strait or Reba, and just to see how many albums they've sold or how many number-one songs they’ve had, and because of that, the idea of me having 30 number one singles, it blows my mind. I can’t even wrap my head around it because I know how long it takes to get there and how hard it is, and how blessed and lucky you have to be to get here.”
Also arriving this week is For Recreational Use Only, Shelton’s first studio album in four years and his debut onBBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. The 12-track collection spans the full spectrum of life—grit, heart, swagger, and soul—showcasing Shelton’s unmistakable voice, vivid storytelling, and emotion-rich performances.
With this release, Shelton reinforces his place as a cornerstone of modern country. For Recreational Use Only is a personal yet universally resonant body of work that celebrates love, endurance, and staying true to your roots.

The Band Light Debuts With Powerful Single "All I Need" Via Red Van Records
Rising pop-rock group The Band Light makes a bold entrance with their debut single “All I Need,” available now via Red Van Records. The track marks the group’s first release since signing with Red Van Records, Jonas Publishing Group and Jonas Group Entertainment in late 2024. Listen to the song below.
Produced by John Fields, the multi-platinum writer, producer and mixer known for his work with Switchfoot, Jonas Brothers, Jimmy Eat World and Demi Lovato, “All I Need” blends timeless rock influences with fresh, modern energy. Of the new music, Fields said, “I had a blast creating studio magic with TBL.”
Formed in Spring Hill, Tennessee, The Band Light – featuring Konnor Dolberry (lead vocals), Jack Glenn (bass/vocals), Garrett Goodrich (lead guitar/vocals) and Trevor Young (drums/vocals) – came together through a high school music production and quickly found chemistry both on and off stage. Since then, the band has amassed over one million streams on their independently released music and spent early 2024 touring across the country, opening for breakout acts Quarters of Change and New Hope Club.
“All I Need” was written backstage during a high school theater production by drummer Trevor Young, capturing the tension and introspection of growing up in a hyperconnected world. The song explores the relationship between youth and technology – personal yet universal in its message.
“Excited, determined, and grateful don’t begin to describe how I feel about this release,” says Young. “There’s a magic in this song that’s connected with our fans from day one. ‘All I Need’ was born out of a moment of real emotion and change, and we hope listeners feel that too. It represents a new chapter for us.”
With emotionally rich lyrics, soaring harmonies and a nostalgic sound that echoes the best of the ‘60s and ‘70s, The Band Light brings rock credibility and raw charisma to every note. “All I Need” is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey for the Nashville-based group.

The sold-out run kicked off Thursday night at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY, before rolling into Knoxville, TN, and Greensboro, NC, where fans were treated to a one-of-a-kind experience blending classic hits, new favorites, and legendary collaborations.
From the moment Shelton hit the stage, the energy was electric. “Blake Shelton Pours Out The Love To Country Heroes,” raved the Lexington Herald-Leader, while the Knoxville News described it as an “epic country party.” Fans sang along, raised their glasses, and reveled in a night that honored country music’s past and present.
Opening act Emily Ann Roberts set the tone with a high-energy 25-minute set before Shelton stormed the stage with his latest No. 1 hit, “Pour Me A Drink.” Welcoming the crowd with his signature humor, he joked, “My doctor’s got me on medication, and now I only care about three things: drinking, having fun, and country music!”
