Written by McBryde with Chris Harris and Patrick Savage, “Ain’t Enough Cowboy Songs” emerged from a shared feeling of loss and a desire to reconnect with timeless principles, longing for meaning and clarity in a changing world.

“In the last several years, we’ve all been feeling like something is missing. I noticed it in myself and then noticed it in most people I came in contact with. And we don’t always know how to articulate it,” McBryde admits. “For us, this song helped us do that. We are all starving to reconnect with the things that made us who we are. Sometimes that comes as our sense of justice and duty, maybe for some of us it’s work ethic, for some of us it’s a sense of community.
 
“When we got together to write, the three of us realized the cowboys we looked up to growing up made us want to be the way that we are – the music associated with them and the lives they lead,” she explains. “Those things fully embodied what I am starving for. There’s no substitute for hard work, resilience, kindness, standing up for and with folks in their weaker moments. There’s no substitute for knowing when to take it on the chin and when to give it. And no matter what else we may try to fill that hole with…there ain’t enough of it to ever resemble the real thing.”

BLAKE SHELTON TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “TEXAS” ON NOVEMBER 15

Country superstar Blake Shelton is set to release his new single, “Texas,” on November 15. The fresh and addictive song captures the classic theme of lost love with a twist and nod to George Strait, who knows best where all the exes go! Pre-save/pre-add/pre-order the song HERE.

“The thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself,” said Shelton. “I think there’s something really special about this record and important for me.” 

The song finds a man left in the dust by a free-spirited woman who has no clue where she has gone but speculates that she’s probably in Texas. It’s wrapped up in classic Texas charm, with a catchy call-and-response that invites listeners to sing along.

Cheatham County's Preston James Releases White Trash From Way Back EP on Friday

Twenty-four-year-old singer-songwriter Preston James is releasing his debut EP, White Trash from Way Back, Friday, Nov. 1 on all platforms . With his long hair, blonde scruff and dark eyes, the Cheatham County (Tenn.) native certainly looks the part, but it’s his soulful vocals and the storytelling quality of his lyrics that will convince you to put these tracks on your country/southern rock playlist. 

James, writer or co-writer on all but one track on White Trash—the high-octane, instrument-laden “Heartbreak’s on You” (Go on, break my heart; tear it up like a letter/Put the pieces on the burn pile; it’ll hurt, but I’ll feel better) featuring the song’s writers, Jaren Johnston and John Osborne—has previewed three singles off the EP for fans. In addition to “Heartbreak,” he has released “Fences” (written with Steve Moakler and EP producer Logan Wall), an autobiographical love letter detailing James’s relationship with his fiancée and fellow Season 11 Voice alum Charity Bowden, and his rowdy debut single, “Deal with the Devil,” written with Jason Saenz and Alex Kline. 

“Working with Preston over the course of this EP has been such a creative palate cleanser,” Wall says. “Preston is a massive talent on the rise, and I feel lucky to have been involved from the ground floor. As a producer, my role is always to make sure the artist’s voice is heard and their story is told truthfully.”

New cuts include the bittersweet, acoustic guitar–driven “Take Me Back” (written by James, Wall and Joybeth Taylor) and the solo-written title cut (I’ve never known nothing but them katydids buzzing some sad ol’ mountain sound/And the smell of that rock burning holes through my poor hometown…It’s where I’ll die when I’m old and feeble/I’m getting by fine with my white lightning still/Cause I’m White Trash from Way Back in these Tennessee hills). Every song showcases James’s passion for storytelling as he moves effortlessly from small-town love song to hillbilly headbanger, narrating the goings-on of rural life.

“White Trash from Way Back sums up me,” James says, “where I’m from and the music I love, in about 18 minutes. I hope y’all have as much fun listening as we did making it!” 

After being offered his first publishing deal at 18, James is carving out his place on the Row with this EP, signing with publishers King Pen Music and Warner Chappell Music and inking a booking deal with the Neal Agency, whose artist roster includes hitmakers Morgan Wallen, HARDY, Chase Rice and Riley Green, among others.

Brian Carothers and Evan Kantor, both agents with the Neal Agency, are firmly in James’s corner. “Preston is sitting on an unbelievable debut EP,” Carothers says. “I’ll never forget the day he played it for everyone here. The excitement in the room was special, and we’re all thrilled to be working with him.” Adds Kantor, “From the moment we heard the music, we were all sold on Preston’s talent. What’s been even more exciting is seeing how incredible his live show is. We are honored to be a part of bringing that to the masses.”

Blake Shelton to release "Go Tell It On The Mountain" For Lionsgate Studios 'The Best Christmas Pagent Ever' Film

Country music superstar and proud ambassador Blake Shelton has recorded a rocking and jubilant arrangement of the traditional carol “Go Tell It on the Mountain” as the end credits song of director Dallas Jenkins’ highly anticipated family comedy The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The film, from Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company, is in theaters November 8.
 
Available October 18, fans can pre-save/pre-add the song here. Jenkins will announce it today at Chosen Con, the annual gathering for fans of Jenkins’ breakout television series, The Chosen.
 
“Hearing that Blake would do a new recording for my film was pretty exciting, but the song exceeded my expectations,” said Jenkins. “It’s not only perfect for the film, but I’ve listened to it a couple dozen times in my car.”
 
The traditional holiday spiritual is produced and arranged by Scott Hendricks, with an assist from Shelton on arrangement. As a fun fact: Credits also include gospel star Gordon Mote on piano and organ and Wendy Moten on background vocals. Moten joined Team Blake on Season 21 of The Voice, finishing in second place. 
 
“I love everything about Christmas, especially music that makes me feel as good inside as the holiday itself,” said Shelton. “This movie is fun and heartwarming and captures the true holiday spirit. So we wanted to record a song that expresses reverence and faith and puts a smile on your face. ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain’ does all of that and I hope our version and the movie become a new Christmas tradition.”

Maryland Guitarist Wes Anderson Releases New Single "Goodbye" featuring Stephen Richards of Taproot

Maryland guitarist Wes Anderson will release his new single "Goodbye" featuring TAPROOT vocalist Stephen Richards this Friday, August 30th on all digital platforms, in collaboration with THC MUSIC (Taproot, American Head Charge, Simon Says).

Says Anderson, "I've been a massive Taproot fan for literally decades, and pretty much grew up on them. Working with Stephen on this is a huge notch on the belt for me, and he absolutely brought his "A" game to this song. I've always loved his ability to seamlessly go from beautiful harmonies to guttural screams in the same phrase, and this song showcases that rare ability. Scotty McCreery to Join Callista Clark for "Gettin' Old," Out Aug. 9

Callista Clark hasn’t slowed down writing, recording and touring since becoming Country radio’s most successful new artist debut of 2021. Through her new relationship with Dreamcatcher Artists, she will release the powerful duet “Gettin’ Old” featuring Scotty McCreery on August 9, 2024. Pre-save HERE. 
 
“Scotty was my first choice for a duet partner on ‘Gettin’ Old,’” said Callista. “I’ve always loved his voice and how he approaches his career. He absolutely nailed this song.”
 
Callista wrote “Gettin’ Old” with Averie Bielski and Karen Kasowski. Joey Hyde and Frank Rogers share production credits on the song, which will be released on the Dreamcatcher Artists label and distributed by STEM.
 
“I’ve been a fan of Callista and her talent for some time, especially after having her out on my European Tour a few years ago,” said McCreery. “I loved this song from the first time I heard it, and was honored that she asked me to sing it with her.”  
 
The two shot a stunning music video conceived, produced and directed by award-winning film maker Roman White for Red Mill Productions in Nashville on July 28, which will be released in the coming weeks.  
 
Callista released “Bless Your Heart,” her first single for Dreamcatcher, earlier this year. It was immediately added to the cover of streaming giant Pandora’s popular Top Country Hits playlist and received substantial editorial and organic support at all major streaming platforms. She followed with “Reckless” and a haunting version of CCR’s “Have You Ever Seen The Rain,” culminating in a fan and industry facing live show on September 10 in Nashville and an EP release on September 27. 
 
McCreery is currently rising up the country charts with "Fall of Summer," his second single from his critically acclaimed album Rise & Fall.  The first single from the album, "Cab in a Solo," was McCreery's sixth No. 1 hit.
