Loverboy’s Paul Dean Touts Release of Rare 1971 Album Featuring His Band The Fox (Then Canada)

Loverboy guitarist Paul Dean is excited about the recent release of the long-lost debut album by his band The Fox (later changed to Canada-Fox), formed in 1969 in Vancouver, a full decade before Dean would co-found Loverboy with Mike Reno and Doug Johnson.

The other members of Canada-Fox consist of organist/lead vocalist/writer and arranger Clyde Harvey, bassist Brian Newcombe and writer/drummer/vocalist Billy McBeth. The previously unreleased album has been picked up by Sony Music for distribution to all streaming services.

Ten songs were originally recorded by the group in 1970 in a Toronto studio after getting picked up by RCA Canada, an event Dean only recalls by seeing pictures of them “signing something” with the label boss. The band was dropped after two singles were released, leaving the original lacquer acetates of the album with drummer McBeth, who copied it onto a CD and sent it to Paul. Dean then isolated the vocals and instruments from the original two-track stereo. “I polished those suckers for literally months, restoring them with these new software programs, much the same way the Beatles reconstructed ‘Now and Then.’ It was a great learning experience, and yeah, I’m a real tech nerd”, says Dean.

“I was blown away by these songs that I hadn’t listened to in over 50 years, and then I dove right in, looking for ways I could update them, from a technical point of view. I wanted to clean up all the little flaws, rebalance the instruments, make it loud and clean with no outside noise, so-on with my producer/mixer hat.”

Remixed and remastered, Canada-Fox offers a compendium of blues, soul, R&B, funk and psychedelia that both recalls those halcyon times, but also remains timeless and modern, sounding as if it was recorded yesterday. Highlights include a spirited mash-up of

The Beatles' “Day Tripper” and James Brown’s “Licking Stick,” which has Dean aping that classic George Harrison guitar lick, then taking it to the bridge. "That's my favorite track on the record,” says Paul. “It’s just so funky, and Clyde really nails it.”

“Coochy Coo” is a blues-rocker with a cheeky, sensuous backbeat, while “Livin’ My Life” has a country feel and a classic Paul Dean guitar solo. These, along with a gloriously funky take on Sly Stone’s “Sing a Simple Song”, were recorded in 1971 in Vancouver and Edmonton, respectively. Dean's sole writing and lead vocal credit, “Mr. Tall,” shows him vamping like his idol Jimi Hendrix, which can also be heard on the heavy instrumental,

‘The Fox'. “We‘d listen to Hendrix on our PA system, which we unpacked and set up in the basement of our band house,” says Dean. “In fact, we used to cover ‘Foxy Lady’ and ‘Voodoo Child’ in our set.”

The Fox toured extensively through the country, making a name for themselves opening for Steppenwolf in Calgary, then at the Orange County Rock Festival in Edmonton.  The band also appeared at the local Calgary date for the famed Festival Express, the train-touring music event which crossed Canada featuring Janis Joplin, The Band and Grateful Dead.

To mark the occasion, the band’s manager Lou Blair, who later went on to the same position for Loverboy, suggested the boys cut their long hair as a publicity stunt, which was duly noted in the local paper to mark their three-night stand at Calgary’s Apollo club. “They gave us these pointy sideburns, which was even more ridiculous,” laughs Paul, “Lou turned it into big news, but the downside was all the people who knew us thought we were [undercover] narcs.”

As for what’s next, Dean says, “Everyone is still alive and kicking. My manager Jonathan Wolfson suggested putting the band together and touring, and well, maybe. It was a pretty rockin’ band back in the day.”

“But for now, we want to put this album out as a service to our fans, who might find some interest in what we were doing more than 50 years ago. It’s a labor of love really, a way to say thanks for the decades of support.”

ABC has enjoyed a glittering career to date. They are one of a number of groups who came along and kick-started the 80s with their own brand of pop for a “new decade”. On its release in May, 1982, their debut album THE LEXICON OF LOVE crashed straight into the UK album charts at number one. Showcasing the soulful voice of lead singer Martin Fry with such hit songs as “Poison Arrow” and “The Look Of Love” and produced by the legendary Trevor Horn, it was voted by many as the best British album of the decade. More hits would follow with subsequent albums including “How To Be A Millionaire,” “Be Near Me” and “When Smokey Sings”. ABC has released nine albums to date and has sold upwards of 20 million albums worldwide; they continue to thrill audiences globally with their live show.

Haircut 100 released PELICAN WEST in 1982 to worldwide acclaim. That cherished LP contained their trademarks "Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)," "Love Plus One" and "Fantastic Day," all UK top ten singles in the 1982-83 season. Soon they added a fourth, "Nobody's Fool," by which time, PELICAN WEST was already platinum certified in the UK, only three months after release. The album spent 11 consecutive weeks in the British top ten and twice reached No. 2. It also charted in the US, Australia and beyond, after which frontman Nick Heyward left for a distinguished solo career. Heyward’s solo efforts included another top ten title, his debut solo album, NORTH OF A MIRACLE, in a collection of nine LPs in his own name to date.

ABOUT DARYL HALL

Daryl Hall is a modern-day renaissance man, an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the star of his very own award-winning web series, Live from Daryl’s House, as well as a successful venue owner with “Daryl’s House,” a restored venue and live music space in Pawling, N.Y.

The Philadelphia soul man is still achieving career milestones more than four decades later, continuing to perform with his band to sold out venues everywhere.

It’s been quite a decade for Hall, including the opening of “Daryl’s House,” a combination world-class restaurant and performance venue, which he kicked off on October 31, 2014. The popular venue also serves as home base for his multi award-winning Live from Daryl’s House. The show, which began as a “light bulb” moment for Hall when he launched it in 2007 as a free webcast, has set the standard for artist-initiated projects. The groundbreaking series provides a mix of legends and the next generation of superstars. “Live From Daryl’s House” streams on Daryl Hall’s YouTube channel.

Previous episodes of Live From Daryl’s House have featured a diverse mix of veteran and new performers from rock, soul, country and R&B including rock legends Sammy Hagar, Joe Walsh, Cheap Trick, Tommy Shaw, Kenny Loggins, Todd Rundgren, Nick Lowe, Dave Stewart and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top; soul and R&B artists The O’Jays, Aaron Neville, Aloe Blacc, Kandace Springs, Elle King, Wyclef Jean, Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green, Booker T & The MGs, and Sharon Jones; big-league singer/songwriters such as Ben Folds, Rob Thomas, Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Goo Goo Dolls’ John Rzeznik and Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump; country artists such as Shelby Lynne; and has helped break new acts like Fitz & The Tantrums, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Neon Trees, Johnnyswim, Parachute and Anderson East. The latest episodes of the show feature Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook, Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr, Andy Grammer, Lisa Loeb, Robert Fripp, and Howard Jones.

Daryl Hall has come a long way, and he’s still got plenty of mileage left in a career that’s taken him from the streets of Philadelphia to the halls of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The best is yet to come.

CHERRY RED TO RELEASE “CELEBRATE IT TOGETHER: THE VERY BEST OF HOWARD JONES 1983-2023” COMPILATION OCTOBER 6TH

In celebration of his 40-year career, Cherry Red Records will soon release CELEBRATE IT TOGETHER: THE VERY BEST OF HOWARD JONES 1983-2023. Due out on October 6th, the very special compilation will be available in three different formats: 4CD, 2LP or 2CD. This is the first anthology that looks at his entire catalogue, from the original version of “New Song,” all the way to a 2023 Elephant Talk remix of it that recasts it within a modern electronica context. It includes songs from his classic Warner-era catalogue, as well as work from his independent Dtox label and features the comprehensive collection of hit singles, remixes, key album tracks, live versions and alternative recordings.

For CELEBRATE IT TOGETHER, Jones personally chose to group the songs into four categories: “Popular Hits,” “Electro,” “Chill,” and “Curiosities.” He wanted to elevate this selection of songs beyond the typical chronological approach and create themes that mix and match different pieces from different eras, with the overall listening experience top of mind. The deluxe 4CD box set version contains 64 remastered tracks and includes 4 previously unreleased tracks and a further 6 tracks previously unreleased on CD. Please see below for the respective CD track listings. To access cover art, please click here. To pre-order CELEBRATE IT TOGETHER, please click here.

Daryl Hall’s ‘BeforeAfter’ Compilation on Vinyl for First Time

Daryl Hall’s ‘BeforeAfter’ Compilation on Vinyl for First Time

With more Todd Rundgren Tour dates, Joining Billy Joel in London’s Hyde Park

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Daryl Hall has an exciting summer lined up on a solo tour with longtime friend and fellow Fame inductee support act, Todd Rundgren, featuring a sold-out gig at the Eventim Apollo in London on July 9 after performing with headliner Billy Joel at the historic American Express BST Hyde Park two days earlier.

BeforeAfter, a three-disc compilation of his solo work, from 1980’s Robert Fripp-produced Sacred Songs through 2011’s Laughing Down Crying, co-produced with his longtime musical director, the late T-Bone Wolk, will be released for the first time on vinyl as a three-album set by Friday Music on May 19.

Compiled and sequenced by Hall, BeforeAfter features 30 tracks spanning all five of his solo albums, featuring six never-released performances from the pathbreaking web and television series Live From Daryl’s House, including a recording of the Eurythmics classic “Here Comes The Rain Again,” performed with longtime Hall compatriot, Dave Stewart, a harmony-laden version of Ruby and The Romantics’ “Our Day Will Come” and “Can We Still be Friends” with tourmate Todd Rundgren.

“I picked this collection of songs from my solo albums because I feel they encapsulate certain periods of my career.” says Hall. “It also shows the diversity of working with collaborators like Robert Fripp or Dave Stewart. And, having some tracks from LFDH on it, really makes the compilation complete.”

Hall’s solo tour gets underway May 24 at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ, and includes those two sold out shows in the U.K., one joining Billy Joel at Hyde Park, the other with Todd Rundgren at Apollo Eventim.

“So glad to be back playing in London,” said Daryl Hall. “I always have the best shows there.”

Wrote Jeremy Holiday in his BeforeAfter liner notes. “More than a chance to work ‘alone,’ Hall’s individual pursuits have granted him license to be more eclectic in his choice of collaborators and to push further outside the expected bounds.”

FOREIGNER The Farewell Tour with special guest LOVERBOY Kicks Off July 6th, 2022 in Atlanta, GA.

FOREIGNER

THE HISTORIC FAREWELL TOUR

WITH SPECIAL GUEST LOVERBOY

KICKS OFF JULY 6TH IN ATLANTA, GA

TICKETS GO ON SALE NOVEMBER 18th AT LIVENATION.COM

“I Want To Know What Love Is”, “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Urgent,” and no less than five more Top 10 hits. Today, FOREIGNER, the band behind these iconic songs announced the launch of their Farewell Tour with special guest LOVERBOY.

The tour is set to launch on July 6, 2023, at Atlanta’s Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, the area’s largest outdoor venue. For the first leg of the US Live Nation tour, FOREIGNER will be joined by LOVERBOY, one of the 80’s biggest hit-makers. The spectacular show will thrill audiences with stellar performances of more than 20 combined chart-topping songs. Tickets go on sale on November 18, 2022 at LiveNation.com. The full routing can be found below.

FOREIGNER will continue its long-term initiative with the GRAMMY Museum Foundation to invite choirs to open the show with a live a cappella ‘Pitch Perfect’ performance of Classic Rock songs. FOREIGNER will join radio partners across the country to create a contest for local choirs to win donations to their music programs. One winning choir will be selected at each show, and that choir will receive a grand prize of new musical equipment.  For more details please go to foreignerchoirs.com.

Leader and founder of FOREIGNER, Mick Jones said, “Many years ago, I wrote a song called ‘Feels Like The First Time’ and today we are launching one last worldwide tour.  We will be presenting a show that I know will have the same enthusiasm as our very first appearances.  The tour will start this summer in America and we hope to get to every place that we have played over the last several years.  While I’m sure our fans will have mixed feelings about the end of the road for the band, I know our shows are going to delight audiences everywhere.”

Says FOREIGNER lead singer Kelly Hansen, "The time has come. We have more or less lived our lives on the road for almost eighteen years.  We have always strived to give you our best and we intend to finish this the same way. Foreigner has a brilliant and increasingly demanding catalogue of songs to sing and I refuse to give them less than they deserve. So, we’re going to finish strong. I want to make it very clear how grateful and appreciative we are to our audiences all over the world who have supported this band.  I’m sure there may be occasions when we’ll do some special appearances, but I think the time is coming for us to live off the road. Thank you all so much!”

"I remember how cool the last time we toured with Foreigner was in 1982.  We played to massive stadiums - New Orleans, Kansas City, Day On the Green in Oakland, JFK in Philly - and we’re back together again, 41 years later.  It's going to be the Tour of Summer ’23!" said Paul Dean of LOVERBOY.

"It’s not very often you get a chance to play on the same stage as one of your all-time favorite bands...and how many hit songs can you play on the same stage every night of a 2023 Summer tour?….. it’s going to be amazing…. I can’t wait." Said Mike Reno of LOVERBOY.

Mick Jones continues to elevate FOREIGNER’s influence and guide the band to new horizons with his stylistic songwriting, indelible guitar hooks and multi-layered talents while lead singer Kelly Hansen, one of rock’s greatest showmen, has led FOREIGNER into the digital age inspiring a whole new generation of fans. Bassist Jeff Pilson; Michael Bluestein on keyboards; guitarist Bruce Watson; Chris Frazier on drums and guitarist Luis Maldonado provide an unprecedented level of energy that has resulted in the re-emergence of the astounding music that speaks to FOREIGNER‘s enduring popularity.  FOREIGNER has an extraordinary streaming and radio audience.  Click here for an overview of Classic Rock artists’ stats.

With more Top 10 hits than Journey and ten multi-platinum albums, FOREIGNER is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 80 million.  Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” FOREIGNER still rocks the charts more than 40 years into the game with massive airplay and continued Billboard Top 200 album success.  Streams of FOREIGNER’s hits are approaching 15 million per week.

With their trademark red leather pants, bandanas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows, LOVERBOY has sold more than 10 million albums, earning four multi-platinum plaques, including the four-million-selling “Get Lucky,” and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983’s “Keep It Up” and 1985’s “Lovin’ Every Minute of It.” Their string of hits includes, in addition to the anthem “Working for the Weekend,” such arena rock staples as “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “The Kid is Hot Tonite,” “Notorious”, “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over,” “Heaven In Your Eyes” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts.”  The group still features the original line-up of vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, drummer Matt Frenette and keyboardist Doug Johnson with bassist Ken “Spider” Sinnaeve replacing the late Scott Smith.

Loverboy Flying High as Top Gun Maverick Sends ‘Heaven In Your Eyes” Streams Skyward With REO Speedwagon/Styx T

Multi-platinum rock group Loverboy’s “Heaven in Your Eyes,” a song featured on the original chart-topping Top Gun film soundtrack, first released by Columbia Records in 1986, is seeing streams more than triple since the premiere of the Tom Cruise-starring sequel, Top Gun Maverick. The band just embarked on a summer-long, 46-date U/S. tour with supporting acts REO Speedwagon and Styx on May 31 in Grand Rapids, MI, concluding Sept. 18 in Bangor, ME (listed below).

“When [Top Gun producers Don] Simpson and [Jerry] Bruckheimer call you for a song in their movie, you better deliver,” remembers Loverboy vocalist Mike Reno, who formed the band in Calgary after being introduced to lead guitarist Paul Dean in 1979. “We met them on a Monday, and they needed the song by Thursday, and we made it happen. It was ‘heaven in my eyes.’”

"It was the craziest thing,” adds guitarist Dean. “We all went to the movie expecting to hear the song ‘Heaven in Your Eyes’ in the movie itself and figured for sure it’s going to be the one at the jukebox, but [the Righteous Brothers’] “You’ve Lost That Lovin Feeling” plays instead. Well maybe it’s going to be in the one on the back of the motorcycle. Nope, not that one. Well then for sure it’s going to be in the credits…wrong again. But you know we did a live video with Tom Cruise in it, and it went to something like #2 on MTV, so yeah, it’s all good!"

The original Top Gun soundtrack, featuring Loverboy’s “Heaven in Your Eyes,” along with Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away,” which won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song, topped the charts for five weeks as the best-selling soundtrack of the year and one of the best of all-time. Other notable tracks included Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” and “Playing with the Boys,” Miami Sound Machine’s “Hot Summer Nights” and Harold Faltermeyer and Steve Stevens’ “Top Gun Anthem.” Deluxe editions of the soundtrack with additional songs came out in 1999 and then again in 2006. Ironically, Loverboy tour-mates REO Speedwagon’s “Can’t Fight This Feeling” was included on the 2006 reissue.

Loverboy, Canada’s major rock ‘n’ roll export, has four multi-platinum-selling albums, including the four-million-selling Get Lucky, and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983’s Keep It Up and 1985’s Lovin’ Every Minute of It. Their string of hits includes, in addition to the arena-rock anthem “Working for the Weekend,” such staples as “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “Heaven in Your Eyes,” “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts.”

Compiled and sequenced by Hall, BeforeAfter features thirty tracks spanning all five of his solo albums, from 1980’s Robert Fripp-produced Sacred Songs through 2011’s Laughing Down Crying, co-produced with longtime Hall compatriot T-Bone Wolk, who sadly passed before the album was released. Additionally, the collection features six never-released performances from the pathbreaking web and television series Live From Daryl’s House, which Hall launched in 2007 with the then-novel idea of “playing with my friends and putting it up on the internet.” One of those performances includes the recently shared recording of the Eurythmics classic “Here Comes The Rain Again,” performed with that song’s co-writer Dave Stewart. Other guests on the Live From Daryl’s House tracks include Rundgren, Monte Montgomery and more. Taken as a whole, BeforeAfter draws unexpected and satisfying connections between the esoteric and accessible sides of Daryl Hall’s creativity.

Loverboy Returns in 2022 with New Single, “Release” and tour with REO Speedwagon and Styx

“Like millions of others around the globe, we’re ready to rock again,” says Loverboy guitarist/co-founding member Paul Dean about their return to recording and the concert stage in 2022.

The band’s new single, “Release,” slated for release in mid-January on all digital streaming platforms, is a full-throttle rocker Paul had been working on, at first intended for an unnamed metal band which approached him as a songwriter/producer to work with them. But when that didn’t pan out, Dean decided to reach out to the other members of Loverboy to gauge their interest in recording it as their next single, which became “Release."

“It started out as a frustrated call to action, after months of lock down, and morphed into a metal anthem about the loyalty and commitment of that audience,” said Dean, with lyrics inspired by Sam Dunn’s 2005 documentary Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. They could well apply to Loverboy itself, going strong more than four decades after forming in Calgary in 1979.

“The communal aspect of heavy rock is almost like a religion,” says Paul. “I’ve always been a big metal fan; My son and I have seen many of those bands in concert.”

Paul started with no music, just the phrase, “I need a release,” and eventually finished writing it, before soliciting the other members of Loverboy, starting with lead singer Mike Reno, who contributed vocals and some evocative lyrics like “It’s a frontal attack/It’s a matter of fact.”And when he continues, “Thinkin’ bout me and you/Couldn’t stop if we wanted to/It’s a bond that can’t be broken/Never broken,” Reno could be talking about the long-term relationships within the band or with their own steadfast fans. Paul recorded Mike’s vocals in a single afternoon at Reno’s Vancouver home studio. “Mike always provides that great energy,” says Paul.

Doug Johnson then added his trademarked keyboard riffs. "He’s such an amazing player and an essential part of the band,” acknowledged Dean. Then, drummer Matt Frenette and bassist Ken “Spider” Sinnaeve, who joined the band in 2001 when original member Scott Smith drowned in a boating accident, provided the always-solid foundation, making “Release” a potent Loverboy anthem in the style of “Working for the Weekend,” “Hot Girls in Love,” Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” and "Turn Me Loose.”

Working remotely, Frenette sent Dean seven different possible drum “takes” for the track. “That was amazing,” said Paul. “It totally blew me away. And Matt was very helpful in putting the video together as well, he had some great ideas."

Dean adds, “Looks like we’re finally going to get that “Release” this January, when we play together live for the first time in nearly 2 years!”

Loverboy’s upcoming tour dates include January 23 with Rick Springfield at the Ilani Cowlitz Ballroom in Ridgefield, WA and headlining shows March 3rd and 4th in Windsor and Sarnia, ON. Loverboy will then join fellow rockers Styx and REO Speedwagon for the Live Nation promoted “Live & UnZoomed” tour that kicks off May 31, 2022, in Grand Rapids, MI at the Van Andel Arena.

Loverboy has four multi-platinum albums, including the four-million-selling Get Lucky, and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983’s Keep It Up and 1985’s "Lovin’ Every Minute of It." Their string of hits includes, in addition to the arena-rock anthem “Working for the Weekend,” such staples as “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,”“Heaven in Your Eyes,” “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over," “Heaven In Your Eyes,” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts.”

Legendary Rock Musician John Oates Joins Forces With Brass-Playing Sensation Saxsquatch to Reimagine the 1982 Classic Hit “Maneater” on Monstercat

Stream - https://monstercat.ffm.to/maneater-9aje

In an unlikely fusion of two musical greats, the iconic John Oates of Daryl Hall & John Oates has teamed up with the viral sax-playing star Saxsquatch, to transform the original chart-topping hit “Maneater” into an electro-spun classic. Injected with club-inspired grooves and dance-floor worthy basslines, the duo put a modern spin on the Daryl Hall & John Oates #1 record, fit for new audiences across eras and genres.

Out on Monstercat today, the remake comes with a visual journey into each artist’s stomping grounds, from Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville, to the depths of the bountiful forest. Grooving their way through the psychedelic animations in the video, John and Saxsquatch are the pair you didn’t know you needed.

John Oates shares, “I've had a lot of otherworldly experiences in my career but none as mystical and magical as this collab with the amazing, soulful Saxsquatch. He brings the funk out of the forest and puts a smile on the face of the world. Meeting him in the woods to shoot the video was a life changing moment. As soon as we began recording, I knew we had something special. The mark of a good song is that it can be reimagined in lots of ways and this is without a doubt the coolest version I've ever heard.”

Saxsquatch adds, “I like music that gets people's big feet tapping along. It's been a tough year for everyone. We could all use music and stories that help us dance and feel less alone. I know a lot about feeling alone.”

Tomorrow (March 20), John Oates will also host Oates Song Fest 7908, a charity livestream benefitting Feeding America. Alongside his co-host Saxsquatch and bandmate Daryl Hall, a slew of pop and rock icons will perform including Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Sammy Hagar (Van Halen), Sara Bareilles, Gavin DeGraw, Jewel, and others. Tune in here.

Saxsquatch is one of the biggest live streaming musicians in the US, with 300k weekly views, and Facebook's #1 recurring music show, 'Live From the Woods'. His unique blend of saxophone, electronic music, and Bigfoot folklore has catapulted him to viral fame, earning 1.5M followers and recognition from instrumentalists around the world.

John Oates’ legacy precedes him as a solo artist and half of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted duo, Daryl Hall & John Oates. Since forming in the early ‘70s, the duo have gone on to record 21 albums, which have sold over 80 million units, making them the most successful duo in rock history, best known for hits like "You Make My Dreams (Come True)", "Rich Girl," and "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)".

"Since being homebound during the pandemic I've been recording at home using Apple's Garage Band on my computer. For me it's therapeutic and a great way to pass the time. I chose to record the Mel Torme Classic " The Christmas Song " playing all the instruments myself and giving it a little more of a bluesy feel. A great song doesn't need much...simplicity is beautiful. I hope you all enjoy it."
