Laden with electronic hues, glossy grit and shimmering darkness, "THE GREAT DEPRESSION" marks the first new music from the Adelaide group since unleashing the commanding track "WRAITH" in 2022, alongside the news of the group signing with Resist Records in Australia, and SharpTone Recordsfor the rest of the world.
"'THE GREAT DEPRESSION' is about the ever-growing cases of anxiety and depression in the world," shares alt. vocalist Daniel Cullen-Richards of the group's latest release. "Social media and the pandemic are playing huge rolls in the decline of mental health everywhere. Some people are looking to death to end the suffering in the war against our own mind."
Produced, mixed, and mastered by Callan Orr at Avalanche Studios, "THE GREAT DEPRESSION" is a scintillating step into 2023 for alt., showcasing their depth and technical breadth in equal measure. And fans can expect to witness this brand new single live in action this Autumn, with alt. set to join American rockers Saosin on their Australian tour this March, visiting some of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth's most iconic venues.
