In Theory has just released their new album Retribution with special guest Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper/ Hollywood Vampires/Crossbone Skully) on the title track which landed on the Apple Music New In Rock playlist and as Henriksen explains, “In Theory is a band that Mike and Tony have created and I was thrilled to be part of the track “Retribution” it’s a canvas of passion and attitude, where every chord strikes the heart of Rock n Roll.” The album also featured Black Sabbath/Dio drummer Vinny Appice who simply states, “It’s so good, I am speechless.”

The first single “Since I have been Loving You” which was released in April featured special guest Eric Gales in tribute to one the greatest Rock bands Led Zeppelin. As Mostert states, “We created a unique dark, dramatic version of a classic with tension, passion which takes the listener through an emotional journey that transcends the body and soul”.

The song landed on both the New In Rock and Breaking Hard Rock playlists on Apple Music and the Gibson Guitar Rock playlist. Covino continues his thoughts on the track, “A passionate remake of a classic song for the modern era filled with blazing guitars from two powerhouse players.10 out of 10!”, and Gales adds, “I am very proud and honored to be a guest on this rendition of such a legendary song, done by my guy Mike Mostert. Smartpunk Records' power pop darlings, Virginity, have a double-whammy of new music for your listening pleasure. Today, the band unveils their EP "Live At The Shroyers" featuring six live tracks paying homage to their roots as a band creating music in their bassist, Jordan Shroyer's, living room.

Speaking about the new EP, Virginity says, "Bad Jazz began with the four of us building these songs in Jordan's living room and so we all thought it would be very fitting to take those songs back to their birthplace and perform them in their finished forms. We looked to our friend Jason Kupfer from The Pauses to fill in some of the production gaps for the live session and we enjoyed it so much it seems that he's going to stick around with us for a bit. These tunes were built to be played live, and were recorded that way for the album, but it was important to us to do it for real for posterity to show the energy they possess and how they don't need any studio glitz to work just as effectively. This EP is a snapshot in time. This is what Virginity sounds like live at this exact moment. You can look at our Audiotree from 2021 and see how much better we've gotten and we're all so proud of that fact. We hope to keep producing live work every so often and to continue documenting our growth, not just as artists producing the best records we can, but as live performers."

Virginity’s “Fidelity Castro EP” was originally supposed to be a way to release the leftover scraps from the Bad Jazz recording sessions, but as the band continued to finesse the recordings, the EP morphed into something entirely different. It took on a life of its own, and taught the band it can operate more loosely than it ever has before.

Featuring 5 original tracks and a cover of one of their favorite Shins tunes, the EP shows the band finishing three partially developed concepts from the Bad Jazz sessions as well as 3 demos of songs that never made it to the studio, but showed just as much promise as anything that landed on the album. And while the basic tracks of the demos were recorded live and raw, they show another side of the band’s abilities and yearning to experiment with lo-fi production (a la a recent obsession with Guided By Voices) and attempt to not overthink something that already rocks ass. 

Push Puppets present 'Shake It Like You Mean It', an anti-inhibition hymn for free expression

Chicago-based indie pop-rock outfit Push Puppets present the single 'Shake It Like You Mean It', a lighthearted Spanish-tinged rocker about lowering your inhibitions, showcasing their fourth multifaceted album 'Tethered Together', released via Flowering Tree Music. After sharing a few reasons why it’s better to let it all out, that attitude is personified in a playful guitar solo that dances it’s way to the final choruses where the string quartet and the wall of vocals make it hard to not shake along

Push Puppets creates songs with earworm melodies and shiny production that belie often-bittersweet sentiments. This is the creative outlet for singer-songwriter and guitarist Erich Specht (lead vocals, guitar), who is joined by a core of Steve Frisbie (backup vocals, guitar), Kyle Magnusson (keyboards), John William Lauler (bass) and Greg Essig (drums).

"For such a simple little song, I enjoy how each verse explores a different facet of why it's best to express yourself fully," says Erich Specht.

The video is presented like a silent movie, featuring footage of pie fights, magic, and of course dancing hard dating back to the period 1894-1927. Produced by Scott Thieleand Sebastian Gonzales with video editing and animation by Tcomas Studio, Push Puppets are joined here by a string quartet, comprised of Stephanie “Sly” Young on violin, Katherine Andrick on viola, Molly Rife on cello and Kelly Jozwiak on violin (note: Janis Sakai performs in the audio recording).

Produced by Doug McBride (Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Silversun Pickups, Cheap Trick) and Erich Specht, ‘Tethered Together’ was mixed and mastered by Doug McBride at Gravity Studios in Chicago. Most of the songs on this album also involve a string quartet, with a horn section on one.

With impeccable songwriting that shines with lush harmonies, angular guitars, dramatic keyboards and strings backed by a smoking rhythm section, Erich Specht muses on relationships, loss, and the weight and joy of life. Poetic and seemingly effortless, his lyrics fit to the melody like pieces of a puzzle. Wearing his vulnerabilities like a badge of honor, this music takes us on a journey to unexpected places.

Push Puppets recently shared 'Launching a Satellite', a brilliant hymn on insecurity with its striking interplay between strings and electric guitar.  Other album highlights include 'This Whole Endeavor' with the ebb and flow of a past relationship set to a memorable piano riff, the arena-rock anthem ‘Similar’, exploring universal connections, the super-catchy 'Hearts Aren’t Souvenirs', the AM-friendly anthem 'Probably', and 'All Together On 3', highlighting the strength found in unity.

After a lighthearted interlude with the retro rocker 'Tell Colleen to Calm Down', the album delves into the pain of lost love in the Americana-influenced'Hearts Are Fragile' before reaching a powerful and dramatic conclusion with 'The Logical Conclusion', driven by intense strings and piano.

The 'Tethered Together' album is out now, available on CD, digitally on fine digital platforms. It can be obtained in either format directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

George Strait and Vaqueros del Mar's "Strait To The Heart" Raises $6.25 Million & Counting for Hill Country Flood Relief

On Sunday, July 27, George Strait and his Vaqueros del Mar partner Tom Cusick hosted “Strait To The Heart,” an intimate benefit dinner and concert at Estancia at Thunder Valley in Boerne, Texas, raising $6.25 million and counting for those affected by the catastrophic flooding across Texas’ Hill Country.
 
As a sold-out crowd of 1,200 guests gathered for a night of music and giving, Texas Jamm Band, featuring members of Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band, kicked off the evening, followed by performances from Kyle Park, William Beckmann, Hudson Westbrook and Ray Benson.
 
Strait and Cusick took the stage to welcome attendees followed by a prayer and remarks from Pastor Max Lucado.
 
“I have a bookmark that a friend gave me that’s embroidered,” Pastor Lucado shared. “On one side, it’s nothing but irregular threads. Different lengths, different colors, a lot of knots. But if you flip it over, the message embroidered says ‘God is love.’ Facing a tragedy is learning to face it from the right side. One side is irregular – it’s just knots, it doesn’t make sense. And during a time of tragedy, it’s essential that we do our very best, as difficult as it may be, to see everything from God’s perspective.”
 
Cusick then introduced a special guest, Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
 
“There’s a saying that we’ve all repeated many times: pray as though everything is going to be taken care of by God, but act as though everything is up to you,” Governor Abbott remarked. “While we have prayed endlessly, I want you to know that we have acted endlessly also. Texas first responders have rescued or evacuated more than 1,000 people. Lives were saved because of those first responders. Give it up for our fearless first responders.”
 
To raise additional funds to support the victims of the Hill Country flood, a live auction was held ahead of performances from Wade Bowen, Randy Houser, Dean Dillon, Riley Green and Jamey Johnson.
 
Strait then began his set with “The Weight of the Badge,” and was then joined by surprise musical guest Garth Brooks for “The Fireman,” honoring first responders. Johnson collaborated on “Give It Away,” and later, Strait enlisted longtime friend and co-writer Dillon and his son Bubba Strait for “Here For A Good Time.”

The Archives Nashville Raises Over $31,000 for the CMA Foundation with Second Annual CMA Fest Artist Closet Sale

eb The Archives Nashville, a premium digital archiving and storage company specializing in musicians’ wardrobe, celebrates $31,292.39 as the final fundraising total from the second annual Artist Closet Sale during this year’s CMA Fest. Fans enjoyed an exclusive opportunity to shop from their favorite artists’ closets knowing a portion of the proceeds were earmarked to support the CMA Foundation’s mission to provide students with access to high-quality music education and equip educators with the resources needed to sustain thriving programs.
 
The Artist Tag Sale included wardrobe items from a star-studded lineup including Lauren Akins, Dierks Bentley, Jordan Davis, ERNEST, Riley Green, Tyler Hubbard, Wynonna Judd, Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Megan Moroney, Thomas Rhett, Jelly Roll, Alana Springsteen and Bailey Zimmerman.
 
“We’re blown away by the response and generosity of both the artists and the fans,” shares The Archives founder and longtime celebrity stylist Tiffany Gifford. “To have raised over $62,000 in just two years is something we’re incredibly proud of and we can’t wait to raise the bar again in 2026.”
 
With the vast wardrobe that musicians acquire over the years, Gifford realized there were no viable wardrobe archiving solutions, so she created The Archives to help clients not only store their wardrobe safely and securely, but to offer a digital solution to keep all things organized, searchable and accessible to her clients and their respective teams. The Archives functions by taking inventory and digital photos of the desired wardrobe to be archived, giving teams the option to store pieces in their facilities or integrate their system into current storage locations. RFID tracking technology programmed into each piece allows for tracking movement of each garment with the online inventory showing all pieces and their location while allowing movement as needed.

Swiss post-metallers Abraham unveil "Suurwäut," a hypnotic single that offers another glimpse into their new album's kaleidoscopic chaos.

idsungwüssä, to be released on September 26 via Pelagic Records, is the third and final chapter of a series of ambitious concept albums.

Still staged in the gritty atmosphere and philosophical weight of post-metal, sludge, and ambient noise, idsungwüssä sees Abraham march even further into dissonant and defiant territory.

"The three albums are clearly linked together thematically," the band comments. "Although, rather than an additional chapter, idsungwüssä is more like a parallel narrative to Débris de mondes perdus. The latter was a jump in time after Look, Here Comes the Dark!, whereas idsungwüssä is a jump in space, a journey away from Earth. It should be the final piece of this little jolly ride."
 
This album isn't just heavy — it is absolutely drenched in delicious filth, and yet by embracing even more the melodic interludes and melancholic passages, they create a devastating contrast to the wall of power coming from stacked guitars, catastrophic drums, and raging, sharp vocals delivered in Swiss-German dialect.
 
"The album was recorded between November 2024 and February 2025, all while handling our day jobs and in a period that was, on a personal level, not the easiest for some of us. It is only in the last two weeks of the recording process, right before sending it out to mixing, that it sort of came together and started to feel like a coherent album, an album that we could be happy and proud about. For an album with change/transformation as an underlying theme, this is sort of performative!"
 
This urgency and duress bleeds into every song, an hour-long journey that moves from the grim to sublime, from melancholy to raw destruction — evoking ruined civilizations and the last wails of fractured psyches. Yet there is something less bleakly human, more ethereal at moments, as if glimpsing beyond the constraints of the body and its wheel of flesh and death.

Strewn throughout the record are appearances of Farfisa Louvre organ — prominently featuring on an Abraham album for the first time. The band were also joined by Kevin Galland (Coilguns), who added additional Moog and piano parts. 

The band continues, "Our approach to recording guitars was different than what we did before. Instead of having one guitar on the left playing a part and one on the right playing another part, we decided that left and right guitars were to play the same part, and the center guitar was to play another part. We just stacked more guitars whenever we needed. And oh did we use a lot of reverb, too!"
 
The structures and movements of the songs found within idsungwüssä are unique and fresh. A balancing of themes and emotions that is both intoxicating and unsettling, it is an immersive journey that rewards deep listening and challenges the boundaries of genre. From the patient grandeur of coming extinction, to the chaos and fevered urgency of the aftermath, in idsungwüssä Abraham move forward from prophetic lamentation to an elegiac visceral response. The emotional closure of this expression is felt, something final that will leave you speechless and with only one real option: Listen to it again.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he puts his skills to the test to create the music for a story he had been working on for 9 years. The debut EP called Myrewood released late 2023, with its written short story partner, Myrewood Part 1, published in May 2024. The following EP, Sword Of Virné arrived in the summer of 2024. Musically, CHRONICLER OF ARDUL draws from the likes of SHADOW OF INTENT and MENTAL CRUELTY in the metal world, while also taking inspiration from Japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu.

Beyond Creation Announce 15th Anniversary Tour

Before appearing out of the Canadian woodwork back in 2011, Beyond Creation had already undergone multiple permutations. But with the band's full-length debut, the Montréal four-piece quickly revealed themselves as the next evolution in technical death metal. With microscopic precision, The Aura splices together classic brutality and prog's insatiable curiosity with a refreshing knack for melody. The resulting triple helix has been encoded in the genre's DNA ever since. 

As they prepare to return to the recording lab for the first time since being nominated for a JUNO Award, today, Beyond Creation are announcing a special tour to commemorate the 15th anniversary of The Aura. This tour marks the first time that the band will perform the entire album in full.

Howard Jones’ groundbreaking 1985 album, DREAM INTO ACTION, peaked at #2 in the UK charts and cracked the US Top 10. "BOTTOM SHELF" is one of our favorite songs to date. Not only does it encapsulate our satirical perspectives as writers and musical artists, but it’s a true story about growing up. It just always felt like we were on the bottom shelf. 

Stylistically we were able to capture the essence of our influences, (ADTR, Pierce the Veil and Weezer) and mold it into our newly developed sound. To me it feels like a strong representation of what 2025 is; the next generation of music with a nod to nostalgia.

KAMI KEHOE has never been one to sit around and wait for permission. After teasing a new rendition of his Keith Whitley-inspired “Miami” in The Magic City itself during his walkouts at Hard Rock Stadium on July 11 and 12, Morgan Wallen’s remix featuring rappers Lil Wayne and Rick Ross is available now. Listen Below.
 
Wallen first tossed the idea of featuring a rapper on the Charlie Handsome produced song during his interview with Theo Von in April, stating at the time, “It seemed like it could use a rapper on there. I didn’t end up using a feature… it’s one of those songs where it wouldn’t be surprising if we got a remix and did that once it’s out.” 
 
“Miami” is track 35-of-37 on Wallen’s fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, released in May. I’m The Problem remained atop the Billboard 200 chart for eight consecutive weeks in the US and Canada, and has already yielded four No. 1’s at Country radio, including “Just In Case,” which is on its third week at No. 1, and the title track, which remained at No. 1 for eight weeks.

Set for August 4 at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, the event will feature performances by Wetzel plus Kolby Cooper, Casey Donahew, Ray Wylie and Lucas Hubbard, Pecos Hurley of Pecos & The Rooftops, Mike Ryan, Shane Smith of Shane Smith & The Saints and Dylan Wheeler.

All net proceeds from ticket sales plus funds raised through partnerships, the on-site silent auction and additional fan donations will benefit the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund via Wetzel’s foundation, Koe’s Kids. "American Idol" Winner Iam Tongi Announces Headlining Tour for This Fall

Following a whirlwind year of landmark achievements, heartfelt performances, and rapidly growing fan support, “American Idol” Season 21 winner Iam Tongi is heading out on the road for his first full national headlining run. The Iam Tongi Fall Tour will bring Tongi’s signature blend of emotional storytelling, island soul and acoustic warmth to fans across the U.S. this October and November. The tour comes on the heels of several major career milestones for the 20-year-old Hawaiian singer-songwriter, including being featured on Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch soundtrack, delivering a fan-favorite version of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride;” a performance of his latest single “Unbreak My Heart” on The Kelly Clarkson Show; a surprise plaque presentation for over 100 million career streams during CMA Fest week, where he made his debut; as well as a debut on the famous Grand Ole Opry.
