Poland's kings of extreme metal, BEHEMOTH, have unveiled a stunning music video for their new single "Lvciferaeon."
Filled to the brim with iconic, blasphemous imagery, the video for "Lvciferaeon" follows the tradition of cinematic and spectacular music videos for which Behemoth have always been known.
Similar to "The Shadow Elite," the last single from their highly anticipated thirteenth studio album The Shit Ov God, "Lvciferaeon" encapsulates both the band's raw black metal roots and the vicious grandeur of modern-era Behemoth.

Mawiza Follow the Moon on New Video
While still ascending on the metal scene, Mawiza are empowered by their indigenous roots.
The Chilean band hail from the ancestral territory of Wallmapu, which belongs to the Mapuche Nation. By proudly embracing ancestral instruments, traditional chanting and the Mapuzungun language, their style of groove metal has brought them international acclaim. They've won a Chilean Grammy and performed alongside Mercyful Fate, Mastodon, Slipknot and Gojira. Having now signed with the French label Season of Mist, this year, Mawiza are releasing their spirited third album, which RollingStone named one of the 15 Latin Albums that they can't wait to hear.
As this band of warriors prepare to set up on new horizons, today, Mawiza are releasing a new video. Though the song reflects how their culture has changed, "Killari" beams with the strength that they draw from their native land.

Mawiza have shared a stage with metal's biggest influences, but the band are guided by the spirit of nature. In English, "Killari" means "Moonlight". Much like its namesake, the song reveals its transformative energy in phases. Double bass scampers under the cover of darkness as a clean, somber guitar melody is plucked like stars from the sky. "Chomü rayen teyfükan (Destroy the withered flower)", the band howl in unison. "Taiñ mongen ñi afkülekan / Re rükükan mew (End our existence / Out of pure selfishness)".
At home, Mawiza have seen the Mapuche Nation endure troubling times. Trees on their land have been cut down by developers. Many people from the tribe have been forced to move into the city. "My mother taught me to respect all life", says the band's vocalist and rhythm guitarist Awka. Between its scraping dissonant riffs and the flowing proggy grooves of bassist Zewü, "Killari" waxes and wanes between sorrow and anger. But by following the moon, the band find strength in transformation. "Wenu peaymi / Look to the sky!", Awka shouts with both his spear and axe raised as the drums circle into a thunderous breakdown.
"You can feel low in the night", says Awka, who identifies as non-binary. "Our people have often witnessed oppression against those deemed 'deviant', 'nefarious' or 'diabolical' for not fitting into the concept of man and woman. In ancient times, masculinity and femininity were respected and understood as real forces in constant communication, prayer and movement. But as time passed, through way and the loss of the Spanish crown, the image of the Mapuche man became idealized as virile, strong and an overwhelming warrior, while the woman was seen as the source of future heirs.
"If there is one concept that we as young Mapuche embrace, it's total decolonization", he continues. "As wentxu or 'men' of the Mapuche people, we need zomo newen or 'feminine strength' to exist in a permanent state within each of us. We protect our Epu püllü or 'two spirits' with songs like 'Killari'.
"I feel a deep connection to the moon and how it influences all cycles of nature, including the transformation within ourselves", says drummer Txalkan, who wrote the music for "Killari". "The song weaves together rhythms and claves from various Latin American percussion styles. When I play it, I try and reflect that sense of movement and evolution through its variations".
The video for "Killari" also reflects the changing forces within the Mapuche Nation. "In popular culture, Indians are often shown wearing dirty clothes or being covered in mud", the band says. "We wanted to look like kings". To make this fashion statement, they collaborated with three of the most prominent trendsetters in Latin America. Their stylish outfits were designed by Matías Hernán (@matias_hernan), Ceremonia (@ceremonia_) and Labios Enfermos (@labios.enfermos).
Even the filming location for "Killari" was chosen after an artist's own heart. What was once an abandoned underwear factory was converted by Chilean artist Beatrice di Girolamo into a woodworking studio. It's here, in this re-imagined space, that Mawiza uncover a modern piece of Mapuche artwork in the climbing light of Karü's guitar solo. "Killari" first appeared on the band's previous album Kollong, which in English means 'mask'. While kollongs are traditionally carved from wood, by adding bits of moss and industrial plastic, this new version pieces together all the current aspects of Mapuche culture.
"Naq uwamtuymi ta lüq pelom / Feel the white light descending", Awka chants. As he dons the mask, Mawiza becomes the sworn protectors of this illuminating ceremony.
"Some ancient Mapuche concepts are impossible to translate" Awka says. "It would be easy to say that our society was inclusive with non-binary and gender-fluid people. But it is far more complex. Our words are not static. Our weavings are not tied with blind knots. Our ruke or 'house' are made to be disassembled.
"Our machi have always embodied this from the most visible perspective", he continues. "The body is a vessel for forces. The feminine force of küyen is crucial to our understanding and daily lives as Mapuche. Look to the sky and you can find the strength of your mother".

In 2023, Mawiza released the single “Txükur” with the Mapuche rapper MC Millaray and a tremendous and very particular version of Metallica's “Battery”, which they adapted to Mapuzungun.
In August 2023, Mawiza were invited to record a live session by Joe Duplantier, leader of Gojira and owner of Silver Chord Studios in New York. They also visited West West Side Studio, owned by renowned producer Alan Douches and performed an acoustic concert at Selva Gallery in Brooklyn.
At the end of 2024, Mawiza re-released Kollong. This version includes new recordings of vocals done entirely in Mapuzungun and drums re-recorded by Txalkan.
This year, Mawiza will release their third album on Season of Mist.

British Rock Icons SKUNK ANANSIE Release New Single "Lost and Found" + Music Video
Today, British rock icons SKUNK ANANSIE have released their new single "Lost And Found," following its worldwide premiere on BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq show. Opening with Skin’s lone vocal before a staccato piano motif starts to accompany her, "Lost and Found" is a striking example of the beauty and drama contained on the band’s forthcoming album 'The Painful Truth,' out on May 23rd via FLG.
The video for "Lost And Found" was scripted and directed by Skin. Shot in Munich by the band and India Fleming, the video tells the story of Skin splitting into two personalities after bumping into a demon (Mark Richardson) disguised as a human. The story is told backwards starting with ’Lost’ Skin bloody, bruised and broken, intermingled with her as ‘Found’ Skinperforming with the band.

“We wanted to evoke the loneliness and desperation that can occur in a split second by one tiny mistake. Any of us at any time can lose the security built up over a lifetime whether it be via an accident, or a sudden twist of fate.”

'The Painful Truth' is a truly mesmerizing, provocative, powerful and emotional album demonstrating a band at the absolute peak of their powers, yet with everything to prove.
“I don’t care that we were big in the Nineties,” states vocalist Skin. “Creatively it’s irrelevant because in my rock bible the first commandment states, 'If thy rest on them laurels thy shall wither up and die artistically, musically, mentally. And then financially.'”
And for Skin, the past counts for nothing. Even when you’ve been a band for 30 years and history seems on your side. 'The Painful Truth' is the sound of SKUNK ANANSIE facing up to who they are and what they want to become. It is more than an album title. It is a reality that they have lived through.
A combination of parenthood, illness, and the departure of their longstanding manager seemed to conspire against them and add to their uncertainty, forcing singer Skin, guitarist Ace, bass player Cass and drummer Mark to question their place in the world as a band, as well as their own personal ambitions. For a while, they came close to calling it a day.
Unsure of what to do, and failing to write on zoom, the four-piece retreated post-Covid to a farmhouse in Devon where amid frank conversations and home-cooked dinners, they slowly began collating their feelings into songs.
“When we write it’s just the four of us in a room with no outside distractions or interference, getting to know each other again. We’d done the Greatest Hits tour and we realized that things needed to change. If we didn’t do something fresh and forward thinking, we couldn’t really be a band anymore. We’d just be doing SKUNK karaoke,” says Skin bluntly.
And 'The Painful Truth' is anything but SKUNK karaoke. Produced by David Sitek of TV On The Radio fame, it’s a fresh, frank, uplifting, and textured album, with the band’s knack for writing big pop songs remaining defiantly undiminished. If anything, their hooks this time around are sharper and sink in quicker.
The first single, "An Artist Is An Artist", is proof of that; a witty, provocative, pulsating slice of spiky, new-wave brilliance has been greeted with a rapturous reception from fans and media alike, proving a radio smash with playlists on BBC6Music, Kerrang Radio, Planet Rock and Absolute alongside being championed by Jo Whiley on Radio 2. And, today's brand new single "Cheers", which rides along on a deeply infectious, pulsating rhythm and boasts a truly euphoric chorus, demonstrates once more the sheer quality and ambition of the new album.

Despite the title, the song is a dreamy, beautifully lazy slow burn. Woods sings the poignant lyrics, his voice drenched in emotion. "Full Speed Ahead" escalates in the choruses, giving full-on The Beatles' vibes alongside '60s-inspired harmonizing. It's like six songs all rolled into one.
"I wrote 'Full Speed Ahead' during quite a confusing time in my love life," Woods shares, laying his emotional cards face up on the table. "Being someone who has endured deep pain and trauma from past relationships, moving on, and healing is a very long and difficult process."
Woods continues, "I had quickly developed deep feelings for someone and the fact that they were reciprocating was thrilling, yet it also scared me to death. I felt like a deer in headlights, looking upon a train moving 'Full Speed Ahead.' My once-pure and beautiful feelings were now poisoned by fear and daunt. How excited I was to love somebody! But will they set me free or rub salt in my wounds?"

Written in motion – on the road, in hotel rooms, and across continents – it reflects the raw energy of their return to the global festival circuit after an 11-year hiatus. UNATØNED was recorded at Robb's Jam Room, Sharkbite Studios, and Drop Of Sun Recording between July 2023 and December 2024. The album was produced by Robb Flynn as well as Zack Ohren who was also responsible for the engineering. The mixing and mastering was handled by Colin Richardson and Chris Clancy at Audioworks UK and the mastering of the record was handled by Ted Jensen and his assistant Justin Shturtz. The only exception was the track 'LANDSCAPE ØF THØRNS' which was produced by Flynn and Joel Wanasek who was also in charge of mixing the single alongside Zack Ohren. A quintet that seemingly never sleeps, they shared videos for the EP's high-energy title track and it's only ballad 'Stroll With Me', just a few weeks ago.
Throughout June, Ecce Shnak (pronounced Eh-kay sh-knock) will be touring with platinum-selling legends Spacehog and EMF, hitting the U.S. West coast. Kicking things off in San Jose, California on June 14, the tour wraps up on June 28 in Las Vegas.
Frontman David Roush is composer, bassist and one of two singers, joined by Bella Komodromos (vocals), Chris Krasnow (guitar), Gannon Ferrell (guitar), and Henry Buchanan-Vaughn (drums). If there’s a fine line between wild-eyed, inspired genius and utter, irrepressible insanity, that’s where you’ll find Ecce Shnak, teetering on a neon tightrope.
Released via Record Man, Records, this EP showcases incomparable ingenuity and limitless invention, the NYC quintet delivering a sonic experience that blends art-rock and punk energy with some unexpected twists. Running the gamut from slow-burning meditations on love’s indispensability to mockery of the web from the perspective of a time-traveling poet, this EP is an intricately constructed, methodically fashioned, and undeniably offbeat... as serious and logical as it’s entertaining.
Recorded and produced by Jeff Lucci at the Art Farm (NY), this EP was mixed by Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, The Fiery Furnaces, Dirty Projectors, Wild Nothing, The War on Drugs) and mastered by Grammy award-winning sound engineer Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, The Weeknd, Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend, FKA Twigs, Twenty One Pilots).
Ecce Shnak subverts notions of style, playfully but reverently embracing multiple forms across the spectrum, while addressing weighty themes and notable trivia with striking articulacy. 'The Internet' is an eclectic gem that makes a fine mockery of the web from the perspective of a time-travelling poet. 'Prayer on Love' is a downtempo groove-inducing opus and the lead track 'Jeremy, Utilitarian Sadboy' is a hammering 150-seconds about 19th Century English philosopher Jeremy Bentham, combining math-metal, post-rock and choral anthems. Folk gem 'Stroll With Me' weaves classical guitar into a ballad about a beloved friend who chose to leave this Earth.

Justin Kellerman, founder/guitarist/composer of EMPYREAN SANCTUM, alongside vocalist Albert Rybka (Katagory V), formed the project in 2007 with a shared love and passion for progressive music.
The debut album was released in 2013 featuring Fabio D'Amore (Serenity, ex-Pathosray) on bass. This 71-minute concept album explores a person's search to find the EMPYREAN SANCTUM, using fantasy as a metaphor for personal struggle. With its double meaning, EMPYREAN SANCTUM represents one's purpose in life and escape from the harsh truths of reality. For Justin, music is his EMPYREAN SANCTUM.
For this follow-up release, Justin has recruited drummer Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Triptykon, Eternity's End, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) and bassist Alex Weber(Revocation, Exist, ex-Obscura) to pack a punch of technicality and precision in the rhythm section. The album also features guest appearances from Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry, ex-Meshuggah) and Gabriel Riccio (The Gabriel Construct).
Mixed by David Castillo at Studio Grondahl and mastered by Thomas "Plec" Johansson at The Panic Room, 'Detachment From Reality' offers a much more sophisticated sound, taking listeners through an emotional journey packed with twists and turns. The subject matter deals with personal struggle and the reality of the human condition. This densely layered, cinematic experience is packed with musical complexity, catchy melodies, and dynamic variation. 30A Life Record's Bradley Gaskin Joins TKO for Booking
Duck Springs, Ala native, Bradley Gaskin, has signed with The Kirby Organization (TKO) for global booking representation. TKO, one of the industries premier boutique booking agencies, boasts a diverse roster with offices in New York, Los Angeles, London and a Nashville office with veteran booking agent, Michael Kelley.
Kelley says, "As soon as I heard this record, saw the 'live' show and met the team behind Bradley, I knew we had to be involved." He adds, "We are looking forward to being an instrumental part of this project's development."
The flagship artist for upstart 30A Life Records released his Keith Stegall–produced new album, aptly titled Unfinished Business, last week on all platforms [Listen HERE]. In celebration, Gaskin performed the entire album to a full house at AJ's Good Time Bar. The lead single, “Accidentally Drunk”—an anthem for all the barstool fools shedding tears in their tequila—is "top 10 most added" to country radio.

About Bradley Gaskin
When Bradley Gaskin finally picked up his Gibson J45 after a decade of self-doubt, he was responding to an inexorable pull he could no longer resist. Gaskin had left Nashville behind but couldn’t quite shake the feeling there was something there for him. Upon garnering the attention of a Music Row exec in 2008 after posting a rough demo of a self-penned song, Gaskin quickly signed a publishing deal, then a record deal. Poised to release his debut album in 2011 once his first single became a Top 40 country hit, everything came to a halt when his label deemed him too traditional. After Gaskin was released from his contract, he packed away his guitar, picked up his toolbox and headed back to Duck Springs, AL, to resume real life—which is where Jack Cole, a seasoned businessman and longtime fan, eventually found him. Offered the deal of a lifetime, Gaskin jumped at the chance to get back in the studio with the promise of recording the kind of music he wanted to write. True to his word, Cole started 30A Life Records, signing Gaskin as his first artist and brokering a deal with legendary producer Keith Stegall to produce Gaskin’s new album.
American Metalcore Band Woe, Is Me Set to Release New Single April 11th via SBG Records
American metalcore band Woe, Is Me is set to make a powerful return with the release of their new single, “Here’s to Me (A Story to Tell Pt. 2),” available everywhere April 11th via SBG Records.
Produced by Scott Seigel and Corey Bautista, the new track serves as the first official glimpse into the band’s upcoming full-length effort.
The band states, "As far as 'Here’s to me(a story to tell pt.2)' we feel like this is the perfect first single. It pretty much has a little of everything that you can expect from this album and the direction we are going. We’re excited about the future and stoked to finally release new music."
The official music video is set to premiere on Metal Injection and the audio will premiere on Idobi Howl this coming Thursday, April 10th.

Woe, Is Me has officially addressed lineup change:
"First and foremost, we want to state officially that the band has parted ways with the Ferris brothers. Despite what you may or may not have read before now, decisions like this are never easy. We have no ill-will towards Ben and Cory and wish them the best, but we do want to explain things from our perspective. We have worked extremely hard over the last year on this new album. The amount of dedication and passion for the music has been our driving force, because that’s what brought us here to begin with; the love of music. Without going into detail about their involvement in the creation of this album, we’ll simply say that the album would’ve sounded the same whether they were in the band during the writing process or not. The lack of interest and participation in something the rest of us sacrificed so much for ultimately led to deciding to continue on as just the five of us."
The band also addressed recent rumors regarding canceled shows in Japan:
"In addition to this, we’d like to clear up some things we’ve seen circulating about our canceled dates in Japan. Most importantly, we absolutely hated canceling the shows and apologize emphatically to everyone who was negatively impacted. But to dispel any rumors, from the time these shows were booked up to now, the band has had no direct contact with the promoter of the shows. Furthermore, the narrative that the band stole/kept money from the promoter is 100% false, as we never actually received any money, including any form of a deposit. This lie has unfortunately been perpetuated by individuals who know it isn’t true, and it is extremely disappointing. Again, we apologize for canceling."
Woe, Is Me is confirmed to perform at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY on Saturday, September 20th.

COSMOSQUAD ANNOUNCES MIDWESTERN TOUR DATES, REUNITING FOR FIRST LIVE SHOWS IN 5 YEARS FEATURING THEIR CLASSIC LINEUP
Veteran progressive rock fusion trio Cosmosquad has announced a highly anticipated Midwest tour for April 2025, marking the band's first live performances in over five years. The tour will feature the group’s classic lineup, including guitarist Jeff Kollman, drummer Shane Gaalaas, and bassist Kevin Chown.
Formed in 1997, Cosmosquad pioneered a distinctive blend of metal and jazz fusion, drawing from the worlds of shredding metal riffs, intricate jazz chord structures, and improvisation. Over the years, the band has released five acclaimed albums, including Cosmosquad (1998), Squadrophenia (2001), Acid Test (2003), Live at the Baked Potato (2010), and their 2017 concept album The Morbid Tango, which received critical praise for its innovative fusion of genres. “Born from the vibrant Los Angeles music scene of the ‘90s, Cosmosquad has always been a project that allows us to break free from the musical confines of our other high-profile session and touring work,” said Kollman. “We’re excited to reconnect with our fans and bring some fresh energy to our live performances after such a long break.”
Cosmosquad has remained a musical outlet where the trio merges their roots in classic rock with their shared love for jazz fusion. Despite each member’s extensive touring careers, the band has maintained their unique chemistry and a commitment to pushing musical boundaries.
Guitarist Jeff Kollman is known for his signature tone and fearless guitar work. His recent solo album, 2023 A.D. (released in 2024), features a guest appearance from Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith on the single “Tongs & Thongs.” Kollman continues to tour with Alan Parsons, alongside performances with legends like Chris Isaak, Lou Gramm (Foreigner), and many others.
Drummer Shane Gaalaas, originally from Canada, has built a legendary career through his long association with Japanese rock superstars B’z and has worked with notable artists including Glenn Hughes, Billy Idol, Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, and Uli Jon Roth. Gaalaas’s ability to blend rock attitude with jazz sophistication has earned him recognition as one of the world’s finest drummers.
Bassist Kevin Chown is a prominent member of 90s rock band Steelheart and has previously toured with artists such as Sebastian Bach, Paul Gilbert, Tony MacAlpine, and Tarja Turunen. Chown has also contributed to multiple solo and collaborative projects, including The Bombastic Meatbats, alongside Jeff Kollman and Chad Smith.
Cosmosquad’s music continues to resonate with fans and critics alike, with glowing praise from industry legends such as Steve Lukather of Toto, who said, “Some of the best, most inspiring stuff I have heard in a long time! Dopelord is a Polish doom metal band formed in 2010 in Lublin. British Rock Sensation INGLORIOUS Announces New Studio Album “V” Out June 6, 2025 via Frontiers Music SRL
Acclaimed British hard rock band Inglorious are thrilled to announce the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, “V”, out on June 6, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
Following the success of the latest single “Testify," the band shares the new single and accompanying visualizer video, “Devil Inside," available now.
Talking about the new single, bassist Colin Parkinson said:
“This song came about via experimentation with lower tunings. I had the riff for a while but couldn’t really find anything to go with it. That was until I watched a Metallica documentary and approached it again. Nathan came up with the verse pretty much straight away and we tried a few chorus ideas before settling on a more melodic approach. I love the song - It’s an impactful, weighty tune that’s also direct and very catchy. Enjoy!”
Regarding the new album, he added:
“I am extremely happy to be returning to INGLORIOUS after a while away. It’s the right time to get some kickass new music out there for the fans and to focus on the future. Writing and recording with Nathan again has been the easiest it’s ever been; it all flowed so well. We’ve all played and sang our asses off on these songs and I know the new album will not disappoint!”
Lead singer Nathan James stated:
“In the summer of 2023, I sent a message to Colin and asked him if he wanted to come for a pint. A few meetings and writing sessions later, we had more than an album’s worth of great material and I can honestly say I've enjoyed every second of creating this album with him and the new line-up. INGLORIOUS returns with frontman Nathan James and original bassist Colin Parkinson. Nathan James, who founded the band in 2014, has been singing professionally for 20 years. He has performed/recorded with artists such as Ginger Baker, Uli Jon Roth, and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
More recently, he has appeared in Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War Of The Worlds, Steve Steinman’s Vampires Rock Symphonic, 80’s Classical, and Zeppelin Symphonic. Nathan also fronts Supergroup Iconic, under the Frontiers roster featuring Michael Sweet, Joel Hoekstra, Marco Mendoza, and Tommy Aldridge.
In 2022, after a lengthy UK tour, INGLORIOUS announced a hiatus. After seven years of non-stop touring with bands such as The Winery Dogs, Steel Panther, The Dead Daisies, Last In Line, as well as their own international tours and festival appearances, recording four original albums, a live album and a covers album, everyone felt it was the right time to take a break.
Nathan is now back, looking forward to unleashing his powerful voice, and he joined forces once again with original INGLORIOUS bass player and main co-writer Colin Parkinson, who co-wrote and released the first three albums with the band: 'Inglorious,' 'II' and 'Ride To Nowhere.'
Joining them is renowned guitarist Richard Shaw, best known for his work with English extreme metal band Cradle Of Filth, as well as NG26, Emperor Chung, and Plague Of Angels. Richard brings exceptional musicality and a fresh energy to the band’s sound.
On drums, longtime friend of Nathan, Henry Rogers, completes the lineup. A celebrated musician, Henry has played with Touchstone, Mostly Autumn, Mia Klose, and Mark Kelly’s Marathon and has earned accolades such as “Drummer Of The Year” in Classic Rock Prog Magazine and Rhythm Magazine’s list of influential progressive drummers.

It's quite the title and quite the song!
Poulsen shares the origin story, saying, "I had so much fun writing these lyrics. It's about the outcasts and fallen angels of God — all the angels that were cast out of Heaven. And I'm being told to collect them in this big wagon and bring them to a barn."
He continues, "There's a ritual going on where the fallen angels are being sacrificed to Satan's spawn to create soldiers for a new dark kingdom. So, instead of inviting my lady out to go to the cinema, I say, 'I have something better. You have to see what's going on in this barn... we've been invited to see the birth of Satan’s spawn and watch the world go down. How about that?"
He admits,"I think some people will read the lyrics and go, 'What’s wrong with this dude?' But, it's all for fun. It's like a silly horror movie. Or is it?"

I can start with a chorus or do songs that are just a bunch of verses stacked on top of each other. Anything goes.' That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album."
Poulsen's excitement to thwart convention is palpable throughout God Of Angels Trust, a punchy, crunchy album that's undeniably Volbeat, yet marches to a fresh new metallic and melodic energy.
Poulsen started working on songs for the follow-up to 2021's Servant of the Mind in the summer of 2024. Volbeat was taking a year-long break from touring to give Michael a chance to recover from throat surgery and to tour with his death metal band, Asinhell. Driven equally by his excitement to record a new Volbeat album and by his determination not to follow convention, Poulsen worked on songs for a mere three weeks with bandmates drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. Amazingly, they worked on a new song at every rehearsal. Three weeks into the process, Volbeat had arranged half of God Of Angels Trust. That's when Poulsen decided that having no rules meant he could follow his muse wherever it took him, and he veered off on a different path. He and the band still wrote and rehearsed two songs a week, but they started composing more familiar rock songs that drew from traditional elements.
The band entered the studio with their longtime producer Jacob Hansen in the fall of 2024. As with the songwriting, Poulsen wanted to work quickly and rely on instinct, so they just plugged in and started to play. To keep the music sounding urgent and immediate, Volbeat recorded live in the studio, playing as few takes as possible before moving from one song to the next.
When it came time to add lead guitar, there was no question that Volbeat would tap Flemming C. Lund, who currently tours with the band and worked with Michael in Asinhell. A mere 13 days after they started working with Hansen, Volbeat were finished.
As impressive as it is that Volbeat wrote and recorded an entire album in about five weeks, what's more incredible is that God Of Angels Trust sounds as fleshed out, eclectic, and fulfilling as albums that have taken 10 times longer (or more) to create. In the end, creating such a strong album so quickly was a tremendous challenge that demanded Zen-like calm, a joy for exploration, maximal creativity, and razor-sharp concentration to pull off.

Volbeat will return to the road on the "Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide," beginning in June and running throughout 2025. The tour begins in June with a co-headline Canadian run with Three Days Grace and special guests Wage War, which will be followed by headline treks in the U.S. with special guests Halestorm and The Ghost Inside, and Europe and the UK with special guests Bush and Witch Fever, iincluding today's newly-announced second show at Copenhagen's Royal Arena on September 20. Rotting Christ Release New Live Album
ROTTING CHRIST have stood the test of time. Over the past 35 years, Sakis Tolis, his brother Themis and their brothers-in-arms have risen from Greece's blackened catacombs to become one of metal's most reliable forces.
Backed by a legacy that has both defined and defied black metal, last year, the Greek legends carved out a new set of dark, melodic scriptures with fresh rebellion on the unbreakable Pro Xristou.

This two-hour set was recorded at the Lycabettus Hill Theater in the band's hometown of Athens. Replaced by Robots releases debut album 'The Experiment' with three audio-visual gems
Indie rock outfit Replaced by Robots has released their powerful debut mini-album 'The Experiment', along with three fun and slick colorburst videos for 'All The Lonely Nights', 'Are We Falling in Love or Am I Just Losing My Mind' and 'The Laboratory'. For this record, they worked with legendary producer Paul Q.Kolderie (Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Throwing Muses, Radiohead) and Josh Hager (Devo, The Elevator Drops), with mastering by Terry Palmer.
Made up of Goolkasian, Heather Joy Morgan and Adam Wade, the band formed as a sound and vision laboratory, where they search through the wreckage and noise of modern life to find unusual combinations and create moments of beauty.
Flashback to 2024: Goolkasian (The Elevator Drops, The Texas Governor, Lovesick) and Heather Joy Morgan initially met up with stellar guitarist Adam Wade (Funeral Party, The Uprisers) at a secret Chameleons UK show in their living room, a fateful meeting that led to the musical chemistry we see here in Replaced by Robots.
"We got to work with Paul Q. Kolderie, who instinctively did a lot of weird things. He pushed the bass and guitars to the max, giving this record an undeniably glam-era feel and a rhythmic pulse, driving songs like 'All The Lonely Nights'," says Goolkasian.
"We also worked with producer and creative compatriot Josh Hager, who produced 'Are We Falling in Love or Am I Just Losing my Mind?', recalling the Buzzcocks, T-Rex and a million other things but is still, defiantly, its own bird due to the electric and impassioned vocal delivery".
This album indeed feels like a fun experiment, relishing their stature as obsolete bohemians, experimenting and combining our influences until we find something unique and inspiring. The band is clearly enjoying following the creative spirit wherever it leads, from the first surf-inspired drumbeats of 'The Laboratory' to the instantly catchy 3-part vocal harmonies in 'All The Lonely Nights' to the wall of noise on the final track 'Since You Broke My Ouija Board'. It's glam and it's glorious.
"'Laboratory' kicks off with the jangle of a raucous surf guitar and percussive vocals that form a curious rhythm and intermittent wail. It's going to be some kind of party. 'All the Lonely Nights' is an exuberant commercial advert in sparky 3-part harmony for the ennui and sorrow that plagues you up to the very instant that you make a magical connection with the right person. 'The Air of Uncertainty' is an instrumental interlude, a pause to welcome the spirits," says Goolkasian.
Heather Joy Morgan adds, "'Since you Broke My Ouija Board' is a spontaneous expression of grief and longing to connect, for Goolkasian broke my antique oujia board, hurling my spirit telephone into oblivion. And I can't talk to ghosts no more. 'Are we Falling in Love or Am I Just Losing My Mind?' is about seeking true love in the dystopian night, a modern world with uncanny robots and fake people. Is it live or is it Memorex?"
No stranger to chaos, Goolkasian formed the notorious prankster trio The Elevator Drops (Arista / Timebomb) in Boston with Garvy J (Devo) & Fitts. Their songs 'Elevator to Heaven' and 'Beautiful Junkie' earned them touring slots with Echo & The Bunnymen, Garbage and Pulp. Leaving that behind in 1999, the early 2000’s Goolkasian brought new inspiration with Goolkasian now recording as The Texas Governor and touring with pals Future Islands. In the mid-2000’s, Goolkasian & Morgan teamed up with recording engineer Terry Palmer to create “a masterful dream-pop version” of their classic tune 'Beach Foam', inadvertently forming the trio Lovesick.
Hailing from Berlin via the NJ Turnpike, Heather Joy Morgan has a Masters degree in painting from Yale. A compelling wraith with visual flair, she classes up the joint, both on stage and in video. From the pyres of the Funeral Party and The Uprisers, Adam Wadehas always been a goth-punk at heart. His guitar is always too loud and that is how it will remain!

Chicago's Evidence of a Struggle blasts sonic warning on 'Le Caution' ahead of sophomore album
Chicago alternative rock outfit Evidence of a Struggle presents their new single 'Le Caution', along with its dark and brooding video. This is the third offering from their sophomore album, out May 9 via The Glue Factory and The Orchard, following the lead tracks 'Eddy Derecho' and 'Give Us A Kiss' - some pushback against incentivized control by media, government, religion, business, pharma, banking and mass media
Centred around the musings of multi-instrumentalist W P C Simmons V a.k.a. Rev. Billy Simmons, Evidence of a Struggle has grown since releasing their 2023 eponymous album to also involve Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, of1000faces, Garbage, Filter) on drums, synths and bass, and John Airo, who provides visual art for the projects. The new album is a lyrical departure from Evidence of a Struggle's 2023 debut instrumental album.
With recording, mixing and final production by Sanford Parker (Voivod, Russian Circles, Yob, Eyehategod, Wovenhand, Darkthrone), this album sees notable contributions by bassist Alan Berliant (Chris Connelly, Mavis Staples, Saint Asonia)and Solomon Walker (Liz Phair, Bryan Adams, Morrissey) with Grammy-nominated sound engineer Chris Gelin (Smashing Pumpkins, Trent Reznor, RZA, Tom Morello, Korn) handling post-production and mastering.
"For 'Le Caution' again, we wanted to utilize more AI-assisted generative video, as some would say — it's a horrible curse, as others would argue it's a surreal blessing," says Rev. Billy Simmons.
"This video is another disturbing observation, a dreamlike looking glass into everything affecting us, travelling within the same currents as the other songs or videos are flowing, such as religion, money, war, inequity, inequality, pain, suffering, anger and, at the end of it all a visual statement of a profound change in our surroundings. Welcome back to the uncanny valley. Le Caution".
Known for creating lush, cinematic, beautiful and sometimes chaotic compositions, Evidence of a Struggle spent most of 2024 weaving a dense tapestry of sonic, musical, lyrical and "visual observations” of what’s happening in our world now, in the past and what may happen in the future. Rooted within the chaos of our world, it is a loud and thoughtful sonic exploration of our unique ability as a species to harm, destroy, thoughtlessly marginalize, and discard with reckless disregard for anyone or anything outside of our immediate orbit.
Transforming into a musical chameleon at night, Rev. Billy's day to day entails running Rev. Billy's Chop Shop, a salon with a creative space that regularly showcases artists' work (declared by Chicago Reader as the city's best gallery). The forthcoming 'Eddy Derecho' album is a lyrical departure from Evidence of a Struggle's debut instrumental album.
Rev. Billy previously collaborated with notable artists, such as RCA artist Ké, Urge Overkill, Touch and Go, and major labels like BMG and Universal. In 2020, he returned to music in the midst of lockdown boredom, allowing him a continued creative outlet. Playing every instrument and recording his debut album at The Glue Factorystudio, he then joined forces with Sanford Parker.
'Le Caution' is out now, available from fine digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. On May 2, The full 'Eddy Defecho' album will be released on vinyl, CD and digitally.
