Rotting Christ have stood the test of time. While their name has caused plenty of gatekeepers to clutch their pearls, Sakis Tolis and his brother Themis have ascended from Greece's blackened catacombs to one of metal's most formidable bands.

In the dimly lit catacombs of extreme metal, one name stands as a monolith: ROTTING CHRIST. Sakis Tholis and his brother Themis started this band together back in 1987. In the three decades since, these Greek titans have left their blackened imprint all over the metal world. They’ve released 13 studio albums and played more than 1,300 concerts around the globe. Underneath all this hard work, Rotting Christ have but one vision – an urge to not only push the boundaries of extreme metal, but to keep reinventing themselves along the way.

Rotting Christ’s evolution has unfolded across several distinct chapters. After starting out closer to the barely controlled chaos of grindcore, they went on to establish the iconic sound of Hellenic black metal. Their albums often embrace refined gothic soundscapes, only to plunge back into the depths of blasphemous fervour. Each chapter marked another, further exploration, and an unwavering commitment to push boundaries.

But the real turning point came in 2007, when Rotting Christ signed a pact with Season of Mist. They unleashed a series of albums for the French label that defied any and all expectations. From the piercing Theogonia and the symphonic grandeur of Aelo to the ritualistic intensity of Κατά Τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού, the cinematic experiences created by Rotting Christ became a spectacle of bombastic atmospheres, mesmerizing choirs, and neo-classical arrangements. The unexpected is their modus operandi, with the use of various languages (Latin, Arabic, Greek, English) as well as the extensive use of famous poetry woven into their music, like Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ on The Heretics.

In 2019, Rotting Christ’s epic journey continued with The Apocryphal Spell compilation, which offers fans an intimate glimpse into unreleased and rare material. This allowed them to gather strength, preparing for the release of their next, highly anticipated, 14th full-length studio album: Pro Xristou.

Pro Xristou (‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. The album encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ’s signature style – melodic, yet harsh at times – reinventing themselves yet again, while remaining rooted in their 35-year legacy.

New York-based garage rock purveyor Dmitry Wild presents a fiery new video in support of his latest 2-track single 'Rock-n-Roll Is My Business / Son of a Gun'. He earlier shared the video for the B-side 'Son of a Gun', full of swagger in a bright, eclectic reflection of the song's alluring "world is my oyster' message.

Recorded at the Amsterdam Castle in upstate New York, Wild impersonates the hardest working figure behind the music business in a kind of “A day in the life of…” as Diablo rides to work in a black mustang, signing contracts, playing vintage guitar and dancing around with the cast. The Rockstar is played by Jesse D. Leach (Killswitch Engage) and The Father is played by Byron Frayne, who also recorded the B-side 'Son of a Gun'. The video also features burlesque dancer and upcoming singer Tryst La Noir and Purple Goddess, who was the top pole dancer appearing on tour with Snoop Dog.

Produced by Dmitry Wild, 'Rock-n-Roll is My Business' was mixed and mastered by Will Hensley (Coldplay, Travis, Dream Theater, Ben Folds, Shakira, My Morning Jacket, The Wombats), the title track beingrecorded by Andy Cass at Sleeper Cave Records in Western Mass, MA.

'Rock-n-Roll Is My Business' was inspired by an experience Dmitry Wild had at a business convention. When asked “What is your business?”, he understood he was at odds with the other business people and specialists in attendance, ultimately answering "Rock-n-Roll Is My Business'.

Most recently, Dmitry Wild released the single 'New York Stones', a rock ballad dedicated to New York City, in July, following up his 2002 album 'Electric Souls', which presented a clever blend of 70’s vintage rock, 80s synths, garage rock, bluesy swash and post-punk DIY ethos.

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like Bad Company, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Delving into the intricate realms of the human psyche, "My Episode" takes listeners on a poignant first-person odyssey, shedding light on the challenges of navigating life with Bipolar Disorder. In the haunting lyrics, vocalist Travis Bacon articulates, _"'My Episode' is a first person journey about living with Bi-Polar Disorder. Richmond war metal duo ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE will release their third full-length, 'Vengeance of Eternal Fire,' on April 19, 2024 via Profound Lore Records! Japanese rockers Crossfaith have returned with a roaring new single titled "ZERO." Watch the video BELOW.

The song comes out of the gates swinging, throwing hellacious haymakers from start to finish. It finds the band continuing to cross-pollinate metal and industrial music into a DNA-distinct blend.

The accompanying visual finds the band performing with a fierce fire in its belly that is utterly impossible to extinguish.

"After approximately one year of hiatus, we're finally coming back in the game," the band states. This song is filled with primitive energy, showcasing our distinctive style to the fullest. It becomes a music full of the desire to tear through the dark abyss with our own hands and be reborn anew."

"Since July 2022, I have been playing on many stages with Crossfaith as a support member, and I am delighted to announce that I have officially joined Crossfaith as a guitarist. Venrez Release New Single "Sip the Cup" via Wake Up! Music Rocks!

Formed in 2009, Venrez has been making a name for themselves with their high-energy live performances and powerful music. The Venrez rock band is comprised of Ven (as he is known to his friends) on lead vocals, Jason Womack on guitar and backing vocals, who has played with such acts as Fuel and Juliette Lewis and the Lick’s; Victor Singer on drums who provides the powerful beat; and Gabe Maskaon bass whose undeniable talent has resulted in him becoming a fixture on the Sunset Strip.

As one of the more popular hard rock vocalists in the genre, NYC native Ray West’s distinctive and powerful vocal style defined a niche that he has reigned in for the last 3 decades. As the lead vocalist of Spread Eagle, West’s signature sound propelled a number of mainstay hard rock bangers such as “Switchblade Serenade,” “Scratch Like A Cat,” “Devil’s Road,” and “King Of The Dogs." Having partnered with his longtime musical collaborator, bassist/producer/songwriter, Miami’s own Miguel Gonzalez, the pair have dug deep and brought forth some of West’s most autobiographical music to date. The album drops on March 9 via Deko Entertainment, and the band will celebrate with a record release party at Cagney’s House of Rock n Davie, FL (5981 University Drive) on March 9th. There will be a complete album play through starting at 9pm, followed by a short set with the band. Additionally, the band will be selling CD's and merchandise at the show.

The show will also serve as a really big homecoming weekend in Ft. Lauderdale. Ray was in a band called Defiance in South Florida in his late teens, and he was truly a beloved local legend before he went off to join Spread Eagle in New York.

"SupaFly's music is on the heavier side," explains West. "It’s got an urban groove, emotionally-charged lyrics that come from a place of strength, and much vulnerability. And since I’m an open book, that’s cool with me.”

SupaFly released a cover of the KC and The Sunshine Band classic “I’m Your Boogie Man” for Halloween, and immediately connected with fans (with the song's video getting over 30K views upon release). This was followed up by one of Ray’s most personal tracks, “Hypothermia”, about a talented musician with dreams of stardom, who ultimately becomes disillusioned with the life he’s chosen. The accompanying lyric video finds Ray hitting his old stomping grounds – including a stop by the iconic Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ.

'The Vibe' drops the night after West and Spread Eagle perform at the very same venue, fresh off the Monsters of Rock 2024 appearance. West is excited to be able to play these shows in a place he has called home on and off for much of his life.

"It’s a beautiful thing to have the opportunity of playing back to back shows in Fort Lauderdale with both of my original projects, and I am extremely grateful. After stepping off the MORC2024, Spread Eagle will play 3/8/24, and then my SoFlo based band SupaFly will play our album release party on 3/9/24. It’s a chance to converge my past history with my present , and to have all my friends there to enjoy the live vibe and I couldn’t be more excited!”

About Gvllow

GVLLOW's sound is an eclectic tapestry woven from the rich influences of '80s new wave, SoCal punk rock, and the iconic beach sounds of legends like Dick Dale and The Beach Boys. Born and raised in the vibrant punk scene of Riverside, California, he began his musical journey playing drums and immersing himself in the local live music scene, absorbing the energy and ethos of acts like Dr. Know and TSOL.

After a stint as a DJ in the underground rap scene for artists like Ghostemane and Lil Peep, and touring with City Morgue, GVLLOW emerged with two solo albums that spotlight his diverse talents. NITA STRAUSS + TOP GUITARISTS IN THE WORLD RALLY AROUND FELLOW LEGEND JASON BECKER TO CREATE "SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE JASON BECKER SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST

"Some Assembly Required" is a collaboration project conceptualized by Josh Villalta and Nita Strauss, combining some of the top guitarists in the world to do something incredibly special in tribute to this once-in-a-lifetime musician — Jason Becker.

Utilizing an unreleased demo of Becker's, Strauss, along with Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Chris Broderick, Phil Demmel, Jennifer Batten, and many more, came together, lending their hearts and souls into what's become an unforgettable, unmissable display of guitar mastery.

"Some Assembly Required" has quickly turned into a powerful display that is equal parts a six-string love-story and a call for action for us all to take a closer look at what can be done to help others suffering from the same degenerative disease that took hold of Becker.

"The original idea Josh put forward was to to work together on a song for my own album," Strauss shares. "We poured through lots of Jason's demos until we landed on this track, which was originally recorded with Gregg and Matt Bissonette. However, as the idea materialized, we realized this could be a much bigger project and more importantly, have a bigger impact to help Jason raise awareness and funds. From there, it took on a life of its own! The incredible Billy Sheehan came down to the studio and played bass, and we reached out to tons of Jason's friends and peers, from all genres and eras, and amassed an army of friends to trade solos on this track. We left Jason's original demo solo where it was, where it shines to this day alongside so many of the players that love and look up to him. We were able to send this video to Jason on Christmas Day and bring some holiday cheer to him and his family! He loved it and christened it with the name we have today — 'Some Assembly Required.'"

For those who may not know of Jason Becker's legacy, we'd have to travel back to 1985 when 16-year-old guitarist, Becker, partnered up with Marty Friedman as the duo Cacophony. His success at such an early age was no coincidence, his metal mastery becoming a talking point amongst his peers, going on to support some of the biggest names in rock including David Lee Roth and create some huge guitar moments as a solo artist.

As Becker's career began to blossom, Jason was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 1989 — at just 20 years old. As the disease progressed, Jason no longer could hold on to the instrument, but the urge to continue pushed on as he, amazingly, engineered his own way of writing music, a technique using "eye geometry" and chin movements, described further in the documentary on Becker's journey.

KORPIKLAANI - Release Brand New Single & Video, 'Aita'

Finnish folk metal superstars KORPIKLAANI are happy to unleash 'Aita', the second single from their upcoming new studio album, Rankarumpu, which is due to be released on April 5th, 2024.

'Aita' keeps up the full-speed ahead approach from the previous single, 'Saunaan'. The dizzying pace, a catchy chorus and a masterful violin/accordion duel make 'Aita' an absolutely irresistible tune that bears all trademarks the Finns are universally known and loved for. Folk metal at its best!

Composer Olli Vänskä commented:
"'Aita' was actually composed as an instrumental track, or that was at least the intention. I sent a demo version to Jonne and when I was asking about it a week later, he told me "hell no!" and gave me the lyrics he wrote. And good lyrics, too! I'm very satisfied about the violin riff and how the folk interlude turned out as well. Lots of interesting stuff happening there!"

Front man Jonne Järvelä added:
"I got a very cool demo song from Olli to which I riffed with a guitar. Then a theme started to form in my head that I transformed into a song which was easy to write words to.
In the lyrics, the main person meets an old familiar village man who has been on the road as journey man for a long time and returns to his home village. The man asks his friend all sorts of questions about what he has seen around the world, but the journey man only answers vaguely, but with wise lessons."
