LAINEY WILSON & JELLY ROLL REACH NEW MILESTONES WITH THEIR 2023 CMA AWARDS WINS

Broken Bow Records' Lainey Wilson and Stoney Creek Records' Jelly Roll took home a total of six awards and delivered three stand-out performances and show stopping acceptance speeches at Country Music's Biggest Night, the CMA Awards at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. In the 57-year history of the awards, Lainey Wilson shattered glass as the first female country artist in over a decade to capture "Entertainer of the Year," joining a class of iconic trail blazers Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, The Chicks and Taylor Swift. Premiering the television broadcast performance of her next single "Wildflowers And Wild Horses" from her "Album of the Year" winning Bell Bottom Country, Lainey Wilson ignited the stage with a fiery delivery solidifying her recognition as the most awarded artist at the 2023 broadcast.

As Jelly Roll’s monster smash hit “
Save Me” featuring Lainey approaches the top of charts, this "New Artist of the Year" winner kicked off the broadcast with a soulful/gospel rendition of multi-format hit "Need a Favor" with the iconic Wynonna Judd.  Closing out the broadcast with a show-stopping message of love and unity, Jelly Roll was joined by K. Michelle for "Love Can Build a Bridge" featured on BMG's "A Tribute to The Judds" available now here.

View full details on their wins below.

Lainey Wilson wins:

  • Entertainer of the Year

  • Female Artist of the Year (Her second consecutive win in this category)

  • Album of the Year - Bell Bottom Country - Producer: Jay Joyce; Mix Engineers: Jason Hall, Jay Joyce

  • Music Video of the Year - "wait in the truck" Hardy featuring Lainey Wilson

  • Musical Event of the Year - "wait in the truck" Hardy featuring Lainey Wilson

Jelly Roll wins:

  • New Artist of the Year

Wiping away tears, Lainey shared the following as she accepted the win for "Entertainer of the Year." "I guess nine might be my lucky number. That's how many times we were nominated for the CMAs this year. It's also the year [age nine] I wrote my first song, the year I got my first pair of bell bottoms. It's the year that momma and daddy brought me to Nashville for the very first time and took me to the Grand Ole Opry for the first time. It's the year that my momma and daddy brought home this horse named Tex. The horse was wild. It needed breaking and they put me on the back of that thing and said, 'You better hold on, you better ride.' There were times that I was crying and I wanted to get down. I'm like, 'Let me off the back of this thing.' Every time it would start bucking, I'd hold on little bit tighter. I think that right there is one of things that prepared me for this ride. Because, it is wild. Thank y'all for letting me be me and giving me this opportunity."

Jelly Roll received an electrifying standing ovation for his first CMA win as "New Artist of the Year." "There is something poetic about a 39-year-old man winning 'New Artist of the Year'. I don't know where you're at in your life or what you're going through, but I want to tell you to keep going. I want to tell you success is on the other side of it. I want to tell you that it's gonna be ok. I want to tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview for a reason! Because what's in front of you is so much more important than what's behind you."

About Lainey Wilson:
As the most nominated artist at the 2023 CMA Awards with a record-breaking nine nominations, and five wins including Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson has earned the enthusiasm of the industry. Critically acclaimed and touted as a top “artist to watch,” to being the leading female nominee and winner at the 2023 ACM Awards and CMT Music Awards, the Louisiana native has made a name for herself in the industry as one of music’s hottest and most buzzed-about new artists. Landing her first No. 1 with her PLATINUM Certified ACM Song of the Year, “Things A Man Oughta Know,” nearly 10 years to the day after leaving her small farming community in a camper trailer to chase her dreams, she has won over legions of fans with her signature Bell Bottom Country sound and aesthetic, which blends traditional Country with a modern yet retro flare. A prolific and sought-after songwriter (having co-writer credits on songs by artists including Luke Combs, Flatland Calvary, and more), Lainey is a fresh, fierce voice in Nashville, delivering CMA-nominated album of the year with her label debut, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’. With a rockstar stage presence, her artistry has taken her across the globe, performing for sold-out crowds throughout the US, UK, and Germany with notable names like Jon Pardi, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, HARDY, Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde, and more. After topping the country radio charts for a second time with the two-week No. 1 hit, “Never Say Never” with Cole Swindell, she recently achieved her third and fourth No. 1 song with “Heart Like a Truck” and HARDY collaboration “wait in the truck”. Her current single “Watermelon Moonshine” topped the Country charts marking her fifth No. 1 single and making her the first female artist in two years to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country airplay chart. Her critically acclaimed album, Bell Bottom Country, reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart, quickly rose to No. 1 on iTunes charts, and has amassed over 650 million streams to date. Wilson made her acting debut in Season 5 of the smash hit series “Yellowstone” as a musician character named Abby, where she premiered her original “Smell Like Smoke” as well as showcased other hits off her recent album including “Watermelon Moonshine” and “Hold My Halo”. Adding to her growing list of endeavors, Wilson was honored at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards with the Rulebreaker Award, and most recently joined forces with Wrangler as the face of their 2023 fall/winter women's collection.

Kenny Chesney Unlocks the Secret of Life: “Take Her Home” Arrives Midnight on November 10

Kenny Chesney defined his place in American music by distilling the best part of being young, alive and seeking what the world has to offer. It’s that ability to recognize great songs that’s made him the country artist with the most No. 1s on the Mediabase Country Singles chart – and that reflection of how real people actually live has always been important to him.

In that spirit, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year releases “Take Her Home,” a loping rumination on the butterflies that flutter when you see “the one” through all the phases of falling in love, getting serious and building a life that makes you so much more. It is the essence of everything that is so easy to miss, but creates the biggest blessings and greatest happiness people can experience.

“When I heard ‘Take Her Home,’ I just laughed,” Chesney says of the song. “It was everything life is made of in less than four minutes. It’s true, honest and all the stuff that’s easy to forget. All those details and little moments? The deep cut Cheap Trick, the black-and-pink suitcase in the back of the truck, a 7 pound, 5 ounce baby? That’s what makes these kinds of life changes what they are. And it’s funny: no matter what stage you’re in, you really are always scared. That’s how you know it’s gonna be worth it.”

Like “There Goes My Life,” which also traces life through so many stages, “Take Her Home” passes through many chapters of life – and reminds listeners that it’s not one massive moment where it all falls together. It’s the accumulation of everything done, the hope of what one wants and the fact that “sometimes God paints life like a dream...”

“It’s amazing how simple figuring life out can be,” Chesney says. “I look around, and I see people in every state of this song every day. It’s part of the miracle of being alive. Even when it’s not happening to you, it’s happening to someone you love – whether your friend, a brother or sister, co-worker – and that feeling comes right back. I can’t wait to hear people singing this one back to us, because it’s going to be one of those moments. I just know.”

The chiming acoustic guitars, bouzouki-accented and electric guitar-twined celebration of the good stuff life is made of is everything that makes Chesney one of modern country’s most progressive artists. Slated for a radio world premiere at midnight, Nov. 10, “Take Her Home” will also be available via digital and streaming services at the same time.

“Every now and then, you find a song that just feels right,” Chesney offers. “There’s an honesty about life that you can’t just churn out. Finding songs that ring true? When you hear one, you grab it – and that’s a lot of how this song happened. We were trying to decide what to lead with, and someone sent me this demo... and I knew. No more discussion. We had the song – and a great time turning it into a record. Real life? There’s nothing like it.”

HELGA Release Melancholic New Single "Alive Again"

A vast exploration of sonic textures present themselves on HELGA's premier album Wrapped in Mist, as chugging riffs, spectral strings and imposing drums converge into one.

The third single, "Alive Again" presents the pains of struggling with mental health in a haunting and introspective piece. Subtle guitar riffs and austere percussive patterns eloquently make way for Helga Gabriel's chilling vocals to shine through.

Watch the video for "Alive Again" below.

"I've had my fair share of battles with mental health over the years," says vocalist Helga Gabriel. "It's in those moments that I need music the most."

For Helga, 'Alive Again' is a product of such a dark moment in her life, and it gives her the space to express the emotions felt through such a difficult period.

A beautifully animated music video created by Yevheniia Vynokurova (

Hailing from the Swedish hinterlands of Dalarna and
Halifax, West Yorkshire, HELGA amalgamated in 2019 in
York, North Yorkshire. United by singer, Helga Gabriel, the
quintet delve into a musical alchemy on their pursuit of
darker manifestations.

“We draw on many different influences from Swedish folk
to progressive metal to post-rock to black metal to pop.
Distilling this into a single style is a challenge.” -Cai S.

Summoning this plethora of layers and genre, HELGA
culminate their premier album Wrapped in Mist into
dirgeful lamentations of mortality and mental health,
punctuated by formidable drumming, spectral strings and
chugging riffs.

The album’s opening track, Skogen mumlar (The Forest
Murmurs), transcends forthwith into emotive dreamscapes
that leave hairs trembling, Ennio Morricone echoing as the
intro’s muse.

But as the journey through Wrapped in
Mist transpires, songs such as Farväl (Farewell) reveal
HELGA’s black metal and darker sensibilities. Bewitching
through this myriad range, the album’s waltzing coda flirts
with a melodic baroque that crescendos with Opeth-esque
climax.

The inception of Wrapped in Mist promises to plunge
HELGA deep into the spotlight of mesmerising live
performances following release. From the hills and forests
of rural dwelling, this is a band destined for a journey worth
following.

DIMMU BORGIR - RELEASE COVER SONG OF DEEP PURPLE´s 'PERFECT STRANGERS'

Today, DIMMU BORGIR releases their cover of DEEP PURPLES's 'Perfect Strangers'. The song is featured on their upcoming cover album Inspiratio Profanus which will be released on December 8th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Silenoz states about the cover of 'Perfect Strangers': "The idea of doing Perfect Strangers came about quite a while before we actually got around to recording it. It’s a known song by a very well-known band that has influenced many to pick up an instrument. I mean, is there anyone who doesn’t like Deep Purple?! We incorporated our little twist to it while at the same time wanted to stay close to the original. But perhaps it is the more obvious aspects that come to mind when hearing it; the integration between the main musical elements that we also made use of since the beginning like keyboards and guitars."

Silenoz comments about the album Inspiratio Profanus: "We’re pleased to announce the Inspiratio Profanus release! We thought it was about time to finally compile the cover songs we’ve done over the years and give these renditions an updated mastering, all in one package, highlighting some of our many influences!"

About DIMMU BORGIR:

As they conjure new, dark compositions, DIMMU BORGIR take a retrospective look back, celebrating the band's 30th Anniversary and the seminal artists that left a defining imprint on their sound.

Conceived in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, DIMMU BORGIRquickly broke free from the boundaries of the genre, daring to combine a traditional raven black sound with opulent symphonic orchestration. They became pioneers within their own field, forging groundbreaking albums such as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997), Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999), & Death Cult Armageddon (2003), invading the entire world with headline tours and eventually turning into the most influential act of their genre after nine full-length studio releases.

After their last two successful albums Abrahadabra and Eonian and the remixed version of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, DIMMU BORGIR herald their 30-year legacy by releasing, together for the first time, a collection of their cover songs. Inspiratio Profanusfeatures a cover of 'Black Metal' (VENOM), the genre-defining 'Perfect Strangers' (DEEP PURPLE), fan-favorite 'Burn In Hell' (TWISTED SISTER), and electrifying renditions from the legendary CELTIC FROST, as well as other immensely influential artists!

NONEXISTER Share Video For "A Promise In The Air" — WATCH // Band Announces "Demons" Out 3/15

Zürich-based band NONEXISTER release their new single "A Promise In The Air" today.

The single is accompanied by an extraordinary video. Watch it
below.

NONEXISTER have also announced their debut album Demons, which will be released on March 15 via the band's own label (distributed by The Orchard) digitally, as CD and as 2xLP gatefold vinyl (180g), including a bonus track.

After dropping "Your Pain Up My Veins," "Drowning In the Void," and "How Do You Dare," the last of which was released in September, "A Promise In The Air" is the fourth single release from the now-announced debut album.

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Marco Neeser says about the new single, "'A Promise In The Air' is the antithesis of a pop song. It is long, it builds up slowly, it leads the listener astray by beginning with a pulsating synth line and seductive, intimate vocals, and then finally dissolving into an epic finale of guitars."

Singer Nik Leuthold adds, "The song is about the raging night of an impossible love, about two people who burn brightly when they get close to each other, but each burn in this fire. Now, they meet again and try to keep control this time and escape the maelstrom. But once again, they are each other's drug and plunge into this maelstrom, powerless and yet open-eyed, surfing through the night in a mixture of frenzied desire, overwhelming happiness, and deep despair. They know where it will end and yet they can't keep their hands off each other. An unstoppable tidal wave of laughter and tears, lust, hope, and despair sweeps them away, leaving devastation again in its wake."

The video was directed by Natasha Vavrina in Italy. Leuthold says, "Natasha Vavrina has done a fascinating job. First of all, by convincing us to make a dance video, which was certainly not our first thought. But based on other dance videos she's done and a wonderful concept, we understood what it could be, and dance is a great vehicle for this storm of emotions that the song is about. Madoka and Gil are incredibly great dancers and Paleta's choreography wonderfully brings out the moods of such a desperately lustful night. The place where the video begins and ends is the ruins of a club somewhere in the sticks of Italy, abandoned for 20 years and long since overgrown by nature. I came across a photo of it on the internet. It's a perfect location for this story, because that's exactly what it is: big emotions in ruins."

NONEXISTER thrive on the interplay of electronic energy and hard catharsis. As if they were soundtracking an after-hours club in the middle of nowhere, the Zurich band, consisting of Marco Neeser (electronics, songwriting, production), Nik Leuthold (vocals, songwriting, production), Reto "Fu" Gaffuri (bass), Siro Müller (drums, backing vocals), and Silvan Gerhard(guitar, backing vocals), swings like a pendulum between moments of industrial ecstasy and moshpit-ready outbursts.

On March 15, the debut album Demons will finally be released.

Leuthold says, "I am beyond happy that our debut album Demons is finally ready to be released in spring 2024. It has been a long journey to get there and I am very proud of the result. The collaboration with Marco is a great fortune that brings us both to worlds where we wouldn’t have got by ourselves. And so many great people helped shape the final product, tweak every detail, so that the baby is now a true beauty."

He continues, "Demons is a journey through the unfathomable depths of human nature — that's what the lyrics are about and that's how it sounds. It is dramatic, possibly disturbing, sometimes ironic, and now and then, quite surprising. There are many pumping grooves, perfect for the moshpit, but there are these eerie, strange things as well, that gnaw on your brain. The lyrics orbit all around human behavior. They are often socially critical, but sometimes as well just poetic and personal views on the abysses in our heads."

The album was recorded at Marco's home studio and at New Sound Studio with producer Tommy Vetterli, known as the mastermind of Coroner and member of legendary thrashers Kreator, adding another dimension to the production. Vetterli also composed the backings and adlibs together with Leuthold.

Dark, lush and elusive: San Francisco's OCTAVIAN WINTERS present 'Velveteen' from debut EP 'The Line or Curve'

"Capturing progressive sounds and thoughts, weaving them together in a dark and lush tapestry of near-classic post-punk, oscillating between shadow and shimmer. Reflecting the troubled times that we live in, sublime dark sonic delight" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Feels like it was recorded in a studio deep beneath the earth, drawing power from subterranean caves and bubbling magma. There’s tectonic thunder in the pounding drums and rumbling bass... Such power, strong and true, a voice that scales the wall of sound beneath her with ease" ~ Joyzine

"A dark musical weave forged of post-punk and gothic strands. A sonic web that is a neat blend of pulsing bass grooves and shaded ethereality, dark and delicious guitar slashes, and haunting sound washes" ~ The Big Takeover

"Seriously compelling incitement, which Aursjoen’s tones and the electronically atmospheric mists around her only escalate" ~ Ringmaster Review

San Francisco post-punk outfit
Octavian Winters presents their new video for 'Velveteen', created by David Kruschke. Lifted from their debut album 'The Line or Curve', recently released via Stratis Capta Records, this feels like a getaway song from an imaginary sonic spy novel with its driving rhythm and 80’s vibe.

Born into the ghostly isolation of San Francisco in 2022 and drawing from darkwave and post-punk traditions, Octavian Winters dives into the ethereal, their layered music counterpointing edged grooves alongside lush synth textures and soaring vocal harmonies. In the lead up to the album, the band released the singles
'Undertow'. 'Ondine' and  'Surreal'.

Recorded in San Francisco by
Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated) at OW Studio and Room 5 Recording, this EP was produced by Octavian Winters and William Faith (The Bellwether Syndicate, Faith and the Muse, Christian Death, The March Violets), whose credits include Jarboe, Clan of Xymox, Bootblacks and Autumn, Faith also mixed and mastered the album at 13 Studio in Chicago.

Octavian Winters is guitarist Stephan Salit (Thrill of The Pull), drummer Randy Gzebb (Thrill of The PullLove Club,), bassist Jay Denton and Ria (Amenti) Aursjoen on vocals and keyboards. Together, they weave their visceral and ethereal sound into a texture all its own – of stories once told but half-remembered, under a dusk of shadows and stars, in an abandoned city under the winter moon.

Randy Gzebbexplains the tone of this song: "Racing down a gloomy freeway on a grey evening, you walk up an alleyway and duck into a smokey casino, filled with like-minded people, an intense air of anticipation building as everyone gets ready to turn themselves loose, their insecurities, anxieties filled with emotions with driving drums and bass with serrated guitars, desperate vocals playing in the background,

"We had just started working up the music for what would become Velveteen in the summer of 2022 and I was out in Vegas for a few days. I had driven out into the desert, musing on inspiration for lyrics, and was on my way back into the city when the signs for the casinos, shows and strip clubs started popping up. The idea for the lyrics coalesced then -- there was an air of desperation in all the lights and billboards, a false lure to feel... good. To indulge in fantasy.  The lyrics are about people trying to claim their dreams through escape, by avenues that lead down a rabbit hole of despair," says Ria (Amenti) Aursjoen.

This album is about coming to terms with isolation and loss in various forms, touching on themes that the whole world has dealt with face to face for the past few years – feelings and repercussions that have left a deep imprint on all of us. The music and lyrics are a natural extension of these emotions and thoughts, bubbling under the surface.

Each member of Octavian Winters brings their own rich musical tapestry to the collective and have shared the stage with many iconic acts over the years, includingNine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Lords of the New Church, Savage Republic, Christian Death, The Frozen Autumn, Everything Goes Cold and Black Tape for a Blue Girl.

'The Line or Curve' EP is out now and available digitally from fine music platforms, including via
Apple MusicSpotify andBandcamp.

New single 'Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In' from THE NOISE WHO RUNS' (IAN PICKERING of SNEAKER PIMPS)

"Ian Pickering is among the most relevant songwriters of this generation, with topical subject matter, sharp lyricism, a relatable attitude and music that is addictive as F*&@. The same spunk as the progenitors of punk and orderly chaos of early post-punk" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Beguiling... anthemic yet accessible, gothic, grand and graceful, delicately dance-driven and dark, coiled and ornate, slow and seductive" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Poetic brutality... the anthemic grace and stature of something by The Sisters of Mercy: it has an Arctic chill through which a lyrical, passionate heat radiates" ~ Backseat Mafia

"Ethereal electronic intimation. Light and dark entangle... true splendour and prowess" ~ Ringmaster Review

UK-France duo
The Noise Who Runs presents ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’, their second single from the forthcoming ‘Come and Join the Beautiful Army’ EP. Sound almost familiar?  This is a majestic, thumping piece of raw synth-pop, all fat chunky beats and circling keyboards with a thudding, insistent bass, inspired by the 1960s mantra that defined the Hippie counterculture espoused by Timothy Leary - “tune in, turn on, drop out”.

The Noise Who Runs is the brainchild of songwriter
Ian Pickering (of Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly), who also co-authored such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. Upon relocating from northern England to France, Pickering launched this project with Brazilian-French guitarist Felipe Goes.

As with the first single 'One Scratch Each', ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’ - the mirror opposite of Leary’s statement - continues the more stripped-down sound both musically and lyrically. Felipe Goes’ guitars create a disenchanting counterpoint to the overall electronic charge, while Ian Pickering’s lyrics are loaded with a sense of contradiction, confusion, and straddling the line between sharp cynicism and optimistic critique.

Felipe Goes says, “With all these songs, it seemed better not to try and force it, and with ‘Tune Out’ it was quite complete but lacked something unnerving and off-centre, so the guitars needed to be almost imperceptible as guitars, but somehow add another layer of meaning or interpretation to the feel - something slightly jarring and disorientating. They’re coming from the exact opposite of a rock approach, more just able to change and confuse certain parts of the overall mood of the keyboards, rather than dictating and overpowering the sound."

The guitars are used sparingly but specifically to highlight certain points in the lyrics and to lift the music when it’s needed. ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’ is just over four minutes but has the vibe of a much shorter pop song you'd want on constant repeat. Lyrically, the song is an update of the original 60s slogan nearly 60 years on, possibly refuting it completely, indicating the appropriation of the counterculture to result in the polar opposite of what was originally envisaged.

“Of course it failed on the most utopian level but it’s undeniable that without the upheaval and countercultures of the 60s, there wouldn’t be that liberation of behaviour and mentality that seemed stuck in the hypocrisy of the Victorian age. It strikes me as a total rejection of a tired establishment and that sense of respectability on the surface, keeping up appearances, toeing the line, doing as you’re told, obedience to the values of your elders and so-called betters," says Ian Pickering.

“But equally the overarching idea of the original phrase seems to be that introspection and dropping out of mainstream consumer culture would offer the solutions. And maybe they would have. But, as with any counterculture, once it’s been identified by the establishment, they take back the hard yards you’ve struggled to gain and they take back more than they ever relinquished and beef up the fortress around it so it can’t happen again. And then they get the marketing and advertising people on the case and sell it back to you with a cheap cover-all, shortcut to thinking logo and slogan.”

The lyrics for ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’ are relatively sparse and simple with repeated phrases, a result of wanting to keep them in line with the ‘pop’ ethic of the song as a whole.

“All this social commentary stuff is Ian's field of expertise. I don't like thinking about the world. In fact, I don't think I like thinking. Thinking is for smart people which I'm not: I'm a salesman by day and a musician in the evening. Thinking about the world we live in only serves to make us sad or angry,” says Felipe Goes.

Pickering adds, “I’m not sure it’s my field of expertise. Maybe my field of Hippie dreams. If we build it, they will come.”

The full ‘Come and Join The Beautiful Army' EP was mixed and mastered by Colin C at
The Cell Studio, whose clients include CBS, FOX, NBC / Universal, Showtime, HBO and Lionsgate Films and such artists as Front Line Assembly and Danny Saber (Black Grape, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Madonna).

As of November 8, 'Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In' will be available across fine music platforms, including
Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where this and the ‘Preteretrospective’ album can be obtained directly from the artist.

Banks Arcade Share "Change" Video

They say a change is as good as a holiday, and for Melbourne's Banks Arcade, a hypnotic diversion is just what the doctor ordered with their brand new single "Change," out today via UNFD.

Watch the video below.

It serves as the second new Banks Arcade single for 2023 and follows the recent blazing track "
Worship the Internet."

"Change" offers a glamorous, dark, and downright scintillating stylistic pivot from the Melbourne group, alongside a brand new music video.

With lush textures, undulating beats, and seductive vocals set against sharp and glossy production, "Change" flits between simmering verses and tempestuous choruses as vocalist Joshua O'Donnell declares, "Please just walk away / Safe to fight another day / I don't want you to stay tonight / But you could change my mind."

"Change discusses an unhealthy obsession with success, and a fleeting relationship driven by lust that is held back because of it," the band offers about the track.

A band that always wanted to make history, Banks Arcade bring passion and potent execution to their myriad of influences and creative ideas. Formed over a shared love of music with a razor-sharp avant-garde aesthetic, Banks Arcade have  teetered on modernity, their gaze ever-fixed just beyond the horizon via their flourishing sonic wiles. From their 2018 debut EP Endnote to its 2020 follow up Fever Dreams, the group's head-turning singles like "Sick" and "Drown" have gone on to amass over a million individal streams, while their explosive single "Chosen" was chosen by Ubisoft as the official theme song of the Rainbow Six Siege Oceanic Nationals in 2022.

Releasing their full-length Future Lovers in 2022, an LP initially devised as a concept album that evolved into a vessel of personal self-discovery, Banks Arcade cemented their future-facing trademark style while also turning heads courtesy of their emphatic soundscapes, searing metal and hip-hop additions.

Alluvial Share "Fogbelt" Video

ALLUVIAL — Kevin Muller [vocals], Wes Hauch [guitar, vocals], Tim Walker [bass], and Zach Dean [drums] — recently announced their new EP, Death Is But a Door. It arrives on January 12 via Nuclear Blast.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Fogbelt." Watch it
below.

It's a live performance video and it will make you feel like you are front and center, moshing at an Alluvial show. The video was shot and edited by
Randy Edwards. (Instagram: Here)

"'Fogbelt' is a song that came from a movie about human cloning," the band says. "Kevin inspired that main riff that starts the song, and everything fell together pretty quickly after that. It's big, dumb, and gross. It turned our toenails green and we hope it turns yours green, too."

Alluvial are currently on the final stretch of their Fall tour with TesseracT. All remaining dates are below.

ALLUVIAL ON TOUR:
WITH TESSERACT:

11/8 — Austin, TX — Emo's
11/9 — Houston, TX — Warehouse Live
11/11 — Tampa, FL — The Orpheum
11/12 — Atlanta, GA — Buckhead Theatre
11/13 — Nashville, TN — Brooklyn Bowl

Darkness and despair are a breeding ground for creativity in the right hands. Since their inception in 2017, Atlanta-based band Alluvial have embraced the grim and gloom that the world has to offer through an intricately balanced blend of rapid-fire polyrhythms, haunting, sludgy atmospheres and tightly wound grooves. The band takes a stab at creating an even more sinister sound than their previous album, Sarcoma, Death Is But a Door.

"We wrote about 13 or 14 songs this summer, but we wanted to do this EP between Sarcoma and our next full-length. These songs align with the vibe we want to go for. We will always find a way to be darker from record to record in the same way that South of Heaven was heavier than Reign In Blood and Seasons In The Abyss was heavier than South Of Heaven," says Hauch. "It was that concept of chasing the dragon to find a way to top the message and vibe on the last record while finding a way to do it that made us excited."

After releasing their instrumental debut full-length, The Deep Longing for Annihilation, the band hit the road. Although the album has racked up millions of streams, there was always an intent to add a vocalist to their following releases. Hauch had begun writing what would become Sarcoma in 2018 and recruited Muller, knowing his vocal prowess from the vocalist's time in Suffocation.

Bringing Muller into the fold immediately elevated the band’s sound, but Death Is But a Door shows the synergy that the band has developed from working as a cohesive unit over the last few years.

Although the band's mission is to drive into bleaker and heavier territory with each new release, they manage to bring balance to their sound. While they remain grounded in death metal, the band's approach finds them exploring all of their influences. From traditional thrash like Pantera or Metallica to darker grunge like Alice in Chains or Soundgarden and everything in between, Alluvial aim to keep listeners on their toes by pushing beyond the realms of death metal.

"I wanted to have a band where we can write meaningful yet action-packed songs. Something that is terrifying but breaks your heart at the same time. I think we'll always chase that, but we want to find new ways to be heavy," says Hauch.

With the band’s members being as ingrained in the death metal scene as they are — with members previously playing in The Faceless, Suffocation and more — listeners can rest assured they’ll be met with plenty of brutality throughout their music. The twists and turns into clean passages, atmospheric ambience, or any of the other musical avenues explored throughout Alluvial's music take them over the edge and invite listeners to return and find something previously undiscovered.

ABOUT VEIL OF MAYA

By channeling energy in one direction, force grows exponentially. Veil of Maya harness the individual experiences and talents of four distinct musicians—Marc Okubo [guitar], Sam Applebaum [drums], Danny Hauser [bass], and Lukas Magyar [vocals]—into airtight groove-laden metal accented by fits of instrumental virtuosity and vocal catharsis. This approach has endeared them to a devout fan base with critical acclaim and over 135 million total streams and counting (unprecedented for an outfit this crushingly heavy). The Chicago band draw on the strength of their union on their seventh full-length offering, [m]other [Sumerian Records].

Veil of Maya have consistently pushed the boundaries of heavy music by pushing themselves collectively. 2015’s Matriarchmade major waves, crashing the Billboard US Hard Rock Albums Chart at #2 powered by “Aeris,” “LeeLoo,” and “Mikasa.” The latter has gathered over 25.4 million Spotify streams and counting. In 2017, 'False Idol' saw the band return to the Top 3 of the Hard Rock Albums Chart as “Overthrow” and “Doublespeak” each eclipsed 8 million-plus Spotify streams apiece. The record also incited the applause of LoudWire, Substream Magazine, Metal Hammer, and Invisible Oranges who raved, “False Idol is undeniably Veil of Maya: greatly contrasting the band’s past, it serves as a companion and booster for their older work.” Simultaneously, they toured alongside Animals As Leaders, Upon A Burning Body, Chelsea Grin, Oceans Ate Alaska, and more. In the midst of the Pandemic, they dropped “Outsider,” “Viscera,” and “Outrun” and released their long awaited seventh full-length offering, [m]other [Sumerian Records] to great acclaim.

Active Rock Powerhouse, Blameshift, Debuts New Single "All or Nothing"

Emerging from the heart of Long Island, New York, Blameshift, a powerhouse in the world of Active Rock, has just unleashed their latest single, "All or Nothing," now available on all major digital platforms. Fronted by the dynamic and talented Jenny Mann, the band's hard-hitting sound has its roots in a decade of relentless touring, spanning over 25 national tours. This extensive journey has forged an unwavering and dedicated fan base, extending their influence worldwide.

“We are so excited to finally be able to share 'All or Nothing' with our fans. We recorded this song with our long time producer and friend, Erik Ron in North Hollywood, California. 'All or Nothing' is a testament to life’s challenges and the spirit to conquer them," says Jenny Mann.

Stream "All or Nothing" HERE

Blameshift's Jenny Mann & Tim Barbour are also the creators of Strüng, the music inspired jewelry line made from authentic guitar strings and “Born in the USA”. As the demand for Strüng continued to rise, they realized they had created something truly special that touched people deeper than an ordinary piece of jewelry.

KORPIKLAANI - Release Video For Boney M Cover Song 'Gotta Go Home'

Finnish Folk Metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI return with a very special single today, before heading out on tour through Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Accompanied by a totally fun video, the Finns proudly present their take on BONEY M’s ‘Gotta Go Home’ to get you in a party mood during the dark season of the year.

Jonne Järvelä, a fan since his childhood, added:

"When I was a kid there weren’t so many good albums in my parents' vinyl collection. But I found something I really liked: it was ”Roadrunner” by Hurriganes, which I was listening to almost every day since I was still in diapers. CCR and Boney M. were also on my very limited playlist at the time. 'Gotta Go Home' was somehow funny. Much more fun than 'The Rivers Of Babylon', which I also liked. Then our drummer Samuli came up with it and was very excited about the idea to cover it. I have the same moves in our video which I practised hundreds of times in my childhood days with my tennis racket in front of the mirror."

unpeople Sign With SharpTone Records + Share "smother" Video

unpeople have announced their signing to SharpTone Records. The four piece, who toured alongside labelmates BETTER LOVERS recently, have also revealed the video for their debut single "smother," which was debuted on Alyx Holcombe's BBC Introducing Rock Show earlier this week.

Watch the video for "smother"
below.

Stream "smother" on all platforms now
here.

Frontman Jake Crawford comments on the new single, saying, "'smother' is a song born of unfiltered introspection and sheer desperation. The intentionally prying first line 'Are you being honest with yourself?' was more of a question to myself, let alone the potential audience. Myself and [guitarist] Luke [Caley] were certainly 'feeling the pressure' at the time of the song's inception. Having come off the back of two massive breakups, one band and one personal, we were literally scrambling for 'something to live for.' Lyrically, it was a collaborative effort. Luke came up with the chorus, which I immediately connected with. It then inspired me to really dig into the suffocating feeling of being at a complete loss of direction at the time. The rest came relatively easily as we were certainly in similar boats, albeit from slightly differing perspectives."

In relation to signing to SharpTone Records, the band says, "Since the inception of unpeople, SharpTone was at the top of our list in terms of who would be our dream label to work with. We have such respect for the team and what they do. It is evident to us that they are equally as passionate about the music as we are. We are extremely excited to be part of such an awesome roster and feel very privileged to be able to call SharpTone our home."

UNPEOPLE ARE:
Jake Crawford — Guitar, Lead Vocals
Luke Caley — Guitar, Vocals
Meg Mash — Bass, Vocals
Richard Rayner — Drums, Vocals

GREEN LUNG RELEASE VIDEO FOR "HUNTERS IN THE SKY"

'Eight songs plus a spoken word intro is all this is, but it’s all that it needs to be. Welcome to Green Lung’s weird church' - Kerrang 5/5

This Heathen Land is an insanely great record, and Green Lung deserve to be massive' -  Blabbermouth 9/10

'London's stoner-doom heroes have brewed up a beguiling, surprisingly diverse concoction of killer riffs, bewitching folklore and knockout songs ... the sheer quality of songwriting edges ever upwards' - Metal Hammer 8/10

'One of the best rock albums this year, and you get the sense that they have just started to hit their stride too. A fantastic blast of occult hard rock' - Echoes & Dust

GREEN LUNG's third studio album, This Heathen Land, was released last week via Nuclear Blast Records. To celebrate, the band have revealed a new video for the track 'Hunters In The Sky', and revealed a host of UK/European tour dates for 2024 with support from LOWEN and SPIRIT ADRIFT.

Tom Templar comments "We're deeply grateful to everyone who has supported the release of THIS HEATHEN LAND over the past week, whether by listening to the album, picking it up in a record shop or spreading the word online - it's been a joy to see it connect with you all. To celebrate the album release we have one final music video to share with you all.

'Hunters in the Sky' was inspired by the Right to Roam movement, who protested the banning of wild camping on Dartmoor last summer. It's a song about standing up to the English aristocracy's attempts to control our common land, and a celebration of the beautiful Dartmoor landscape, from Wistman's Wood to Crockern Tor. We'd always wanted to write a song about the Wild Hunt, one of the most dramatic European folkloric motifs, and hopefully we've done it justice. We hope you enjoy it - and huge thanks to Billy Price for directing this and all the other videos for this album, and to Blackthorn Ritualistic Folk for dancing in the video and supplying some incredible folk costumes, especially a truly majestic replica of the Dorset Ooser, who you might see on stage with us soon.."

Autarkh Streaming New Album

Autarkh already sounded like the future on their debut. But the Dutch contemporary metal band have pushed their distended view of the digital age to further extremes on their new album.

"It is even safe to say that the Autarkh that exists on Emergent is not the same Autarkh that existed on Form in Motion", writes
No Clean Singing. "...right when you're able to put a pin in why you're enjoying a particular segment of Emergent, Autarkh propel themselves off in a completely different direction with joyous abandon".

Emergent
comes out this Friday, November 10.

Autarkh are known for hard-wiring extreme metal with glitchy electronics. Emergent still bristles with melodic dissonance and programmed beats. Lead single "Strife opens with drum pads that pound quietly, only to escalate into a towering chorus that's spiked by a thousand megawatts of industrial-sized riffs.

But Emergent reveals a new and improved Autarkh. This album is bigger andbrighter. "Open Focus" courses with hammering riffs, pixelated drum breaks and even an unfettered bass groove. After headbanging through another avalanche of a chorus, "Refocus" breaks into a crystal-clean vocal that's backed by radiant harmonies.

There is a darker side to Emergent. "Duhkha" seethes with ominous sound effects that could've been ripped out of a slasher flick. "Clouded gaze, clouded aura / Left behind with my past self", Nienhuis screams with vein-popping intensity, paying homage to former Dodecahedron band mate Michiel Eikenaar, who passed away in 2019. But through this battle with their inner demons, Autarkh find inner peace. Over a chugging beat and sky rocketing power chords, the band lift their voices to glistening new heights: "Remember all ye that existence is pure joy. Into the light".

Autarkh might be from the future. But they're still human after all.

"We are really happy that our new album Emergent is finally about to be officially released!", says Autarkh. "We feel this is a next step in our artistic development – Emergent has a more open, diverse and radiant imprint and offers increased versatility compared to our debut Form In Motion.  We sincerely hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it!"

Dutch contemporary metal adventurers Autarkh are back with their sophomore full-length album Emergent. Michel Nienhuis, founder of Autarkh and Dodecahedrom, teamed up again with guitarist/producer David Luiten (Inferum), bassist Desmond Kuijk (Dear Mother) and electronics wizard Tijnn Verbruggen to create the follow-up to their highly acclaimed debut album 'Form In Motion', released by Season Of Mist on 12 March 2021. Monica Kendrick (Chicago Reader, US) on the relevance of the group’s debut:

"And I’ll call it now: given the time to flourish and sink into the ears of an audience, Autarkh will become highly influential on the next generation of extreme metal."

'Emergent' is another testament to Autarkh’s imagination and creativity. It delivers increased versatility and contrast, and sees the band expand towards more uplifting and consonant territories. Form In Motion explored the boundaries of sonic extremes; on 'Emergent', Autarkh broadens its horizon and shows diversity and nuance while preserving its intense and razor-sharp edge.

With nine tracks, 'Emergent' is a sonic exploration of the inner universe where all things light and dark can be encountered. The listener is lured into an "Open Focus" (a meditative state of mind) in preparation for an inward journey along the physical energy centers. From the thumping synth basses of "Strife" and the menacing sludgy melancholy of "Duhkha", we move into the bewildering blasts of "Trek", where stellar harmonies will eventually burst through the oppressive atmosphere. The trip continues with the crushing downtempo groove that enforces "Refocus", as well as the mind-bending a capella interlude "Aperture" and the frivolous "Eye Of Horus" and "Countless Kaleidoscopes", to finally deliver all-encompassing enlightenment with Ka.

Composers Nienhuis’s and Luiten’s statements and states of mind capture the same capriciousness and unease of 'Form In Motion', this time leaving a more open, diverse and radiant imprint. With exciting vocal harmonies, bold contrasts and a vivid imagination, Autarkh sheds a bright light on the inner self and exposes it to the world with intensity and conviction. That makes Emergent an evocative release with a multilayered yet crystal-clear production that promises a bright future for Autarkh.

Following her first release for Benny Brown’s Stone Country Records, singer/songwriter Annie Bosko’s sultry “Neon Baby” is the third most-added song at Country radio today, Nov. 6. Listen to the track, along with recently released “Boots On,” HERE.

“I’m so excited ‘Neon Baby’ is my radio single,” shares Bosko. “It’s such a feel-good song, and I think it’s a different sound and message, especially coming from a female. I loved embracing my romantic side and featuring the dreamy lap steel guitar. It’s got a lot of soul and a little throwback with a modern twist.”

Written by Bosko with Jeffrey Steele (Rascal Flatts’ “What Hurts The Most,” Tim McGraw’s “The Cowboy In Me”) and Bridgette Tatum (Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country”), and working with producers Derek George and Mickey Jack Cones, “Neon Baby” entices listeners with the California native’s flare for neo-traditional twang, a fitting conduit for its playful and flirty lyrics:

      I’ll be your neon baby
      I’ll drive you midnight crazy
I’ll hit your lips like whiskey
When you lean in to kiss me
Put that whiskey down and kiss me again and again
      Turn me on
      I’ll be your neon, baby

Bosko made her Grand Ole Opry debut Sept. 30 among dates opening for Tim McGraw and Dwight Yoakam and is set to perform at several prominent festivals in 2024. With her radio tour well underway, she has shared her “fearless” pure-country sound and edge-of-your-seat songwriting with stations across the country.

Among recent visits, Ashley Morrison from WFUS-Tampa Bay shared, “When you meet Annie and spend time with her voice you’ll wonder where the heck she’s been – I learned she’s been spending years with other impressive creators but her vocal range and musical abilities leave you wanting more. I’m excited that country radio and listeners are being introduced to her. She’s incredibly personable and exudes the confidence you’d expect from an artist who’s been in the spotlight for decades.”

Having performed the National Anthem countless times for events across NASCAR, NFL, NBA, MLB and more, Bosko will sing the anthem next month on Dec. 11 for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

About Annie Bosko
With a voice that beams like a ray of California sunshine, Stone Country Records/Brown Sellers Brown singer-songwriter Annie Bosko pairs a sound anchored deep in the organic twang of ‘90s country with simple songs told from the heart, preaching equal parts healing and honky-tonk hope. A student of legendary crooners like Patsy Cline with added inspiration from Shania Twain, George Strait, Dwight Yoakam, The Beatles and more, the Golden State native broke out in 2014 with the SiriusXM/CMT hit “Crooked Halo,” bucking the bro-country trend for a traditionally flavored anthem that has now amassed more than 3 million streams. She went on to write songs recorded by Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson, tour alongside Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton, sell out the famed Troubadour and perform on the Grand Ole Opry and at Ryman Auditorium – the fabled Mother Church of Country Music – while also becoming an in-demand studio vocalist and earning the title Artist to Watch from Rolling Stone Country. After a series of standout collaborations with country icons Vince Gill, Dwight Yoakam and Raul Malo, she is now embracing her true nature for a creative rejuvenation. Working with producers Derek George and Mickey Jack Cones, a new batch of music pairs unapologetic twang, clever wordplay, and deep compassion with her longstanding downhome-diva vocal, capturing the full range of a timeless American art in its purest form. In 2023, Bosko released the powerful-yet-tender ballad “Dandelions” in memory of the victims of Nashville’s Covenant School shooting – a track written alongside Danny Myrick which has now become a beacon of community remembrance and faith. Lost in grief and capturing the reverberating shock of that day’s unfathomable loss, the track has been embraced by the Covenant School families themselves, with all proceeds from being donated for their benefit through ACM Lifting Lives. Looking ahead, Bosko will continue to release sharp-yet-simple, pure-country songs written or co-written with hit makers like Jeffrey Steele, Bridgette Tatum and more, all aimed at uplifting, inspiring or just singing along with women and country-music lovers everywhere.
