A LIGHT DIVIDED Release New Single "RAIN" to all major platforms!

A LIGHT DIVIDED released their latest single "RAIN" to all major platforms today, August 11, 2023. The single was produced by Kile Odell (Nita Strauss, Motionless in White, Saul). In support of the single, the band will hit the road this August with Rise Among Rivals.

“The concept of 'Rain' originally came about in 2021 but it never felt quite right. After a series of reworks with longtime producer Kile Odell and Zach Williams, we decided to strip it down and put all the focus on the vocals and the message. For me, that was the most important part. We also liked the idea of hiding these dark, sarcastic lyrics inside an upbeat song. Lyrically, 'Rain' is about the silent suffering of battling a depressive episode while simultaneously seeming okay to to the outside world,” says the band's vocalist Jaycee Clark.

A Light Divided is led by the powerhouse vocals of front woman Jaycee Clark with instrumentation from drummer Adam Smith along with guitarists Doug Weichbrodt and Scott Vallina. Together, they create a unique blend of rock and metal with a pop sensibility.

Through their electrifying live performances, A Light Divided has garnered a devoted following, steadily growing their underground army of fans. Their high-energy shows have earned them coveted spots at major festivals such as Vans Warped Tour, Blue Ridge Rock Fest, and Cadott, WI's Rock Fest. Additionally, they have shared the stage with esteemed national acts like In This Moment, Motionless In White, August Burns Red, Lacuna Coil, Diamante, 10 Years and many more.

In addition to their successful touring endeavors across the country, their most recent single “Inhale/Exhale” impressively climbed to #9 on the billboard top singles chart beating their previous single “Radio Silence” debut at #55.

A Light Divided has also achieved over 2.8 million Spotify streams, won the "Best Rock Video" award at the 2019 Carolina Music Awards for “Scars of You”, and was hailed as a band you need to know by AltPress. Jaycee Clark further showcased her versatility by lending her voice to AEW wrestler Leyla Hirsch's entrance theme, "Legitimate," as seen on TNT.

As they gear up for their next chapter, A Light Divided released their highly anticipated new single, "RAIN," today, August 11th. This track promises to showcase their evolution as musicians and further solidify their place in the music industry.

Dead Icarus, Feat. ex-Atreyu Singer Alex Varkatzas, Signs to MNRK HEAVY + Drops "Sellout" Video

Dead Icarus, the new project of former Atreyu lead vocalist and Gold-selling artist Alex Varkatzas, has officially signed a worldwide deal with MNRK Heavy.

To herald this exciting news, Dead Icarus have shared the video for the new single "
Sellout." Watch it below.

The track is a hyperkinetic slab of fast-paced, face-ripping metal with layered vocals and a pit-clearing breakdown. The song shows off a different side of the artist's musical personality. It hits hard, but it's also infused with a melody that just won't quit.

This is the first taste of new music, with a full-length project slated for Spring 2024.

Scott Givens, MNRK’s SVP of Rock & Metal, says, "Alex's new project has our whole Heavy team excited. He has put together an incredible project with an amazing group of musicians."

Alex says, "I am beyond excited and grateful for DEAD ICARUS to be joining the MNRK Heavy family. MNRK understands my musical vision and has provided me with free reign over all aspects of my musical journey. I cannot wait to share what has been created as a result of this unadulterated trust. This is the most honest, painful, angry, and optimistic music I have ever created. This is my road to redemption and the truth."

A staple of Ozzfest in the mid-2000s with two gold albums, Atreyu is one of the defining bands of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, alongside groups like Avenged Sevenfold and Lamb Of God. Metalcore classics like The Curse and A Death-Grip on Yesterday were powered by Alex's distinctive scream.

here. After racking up over 100 million streams and receiving praise from Billboard, Rock Sound, Alternative Press, and more, the band crafted an album that addresses the end of various things and situations in life. It was a way for the members to expunge some negative things from their lives through their art. With this record,The Plot In You stared down years of negativity, soured friendships, disappointment, and mistakes and catalyzed those experiences into hammering distortion, towering melodies, epic production, and unapologetically cathartic lyrics. Founded in 2017 by vocalist Lacey Crowe and guitarist Jason Clark, Bourbon House are a modern rock ‘n’ roll band whose music is heavily inspired by their timeless predecessors Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Bad Company, to name a few. Following up their first album was Wild Abandon (2018), Into The Red (2021) and their most recent release, The Fourth Album (2023).

Managing themselves under their own label, Steel Jacket Records, Bourbon House have been on an upward trajectory since their debut. They made Classic Rock Magazine's "Hot List" with a full page feature, were named one of 15 Rising Rock Bands by acclaimed music journalist Matt Wake, climbed Matt Pinfield's Weekly Rock Countdown, and have been invited to perform at several music festivals this year.

At the center of Bourbon House's music are Crowe's unique blues-rock vocals and Clark's gritty, bluesy guitar riffs. Their music is honest and their love for the human aspect of pure rock 'n' roll, as well as the desire to create an escape within their music, is the driving force behind their prolificity.

With more music to follow the release of The Fourth Album, festival slots, and their need to be in a continuous mode of creation, Bourbon House are poised for a strong presence in 2023.

In the summer of 2023, Bourbon House signed to FRETBAR RECORDS.

Morgan Wallen Foundation & MLB-MLBPA YDF Donate $500k Each to Habitat For Humanity of Greater Nashville's Parkwood Ballfield Project

Academy of Country Music Male Artist of the Year Morgan Wallen, through his Morgan Wallen Foundation, along with Major League Baseball & MLB Players Association Youth Development Foundation (MLB-MLBPA YDF) and other local funders have partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville to lead the community revitalization of the historic Black baseball and softball complex, Parkwood Community Club, in north Nashville. Together, MLB-MLBPA YDF and Morgan Wallen Foundation have joined forces to donate $500k each, totaling $1 million invested in the project.

“I started the Morgan Wallen Foundation to support youth in two areas - sports and music. When I heard about Parkwood, right here in Nashville, I knew I wanted to help. Every child deserves a chance to play ball and be part of a team, and I truly appreciate this opportunity to be part of Parkwood’s next inning,” said Wallen. “I can’t wait to come back out here and see the park once it has been renovated.”

Access to sports transformed Wallen’s life in ways he never could have imagined growing up as a child in East Tennessee. Wallen’s first love was baseball and he had aspirations of pursuing a baseball career until an injury halted his baseball dreams and brought him back to music. Wallen credits team sports with teaching him the values and benefits of discipline, hard work and commitment.

Serving the community’s needs since 1966, efforts to renovate the Parkwood ballfields are part of a broader mission to maintain the complex’s historical integrity and rebuild the Parkwood-Haynes-Trinity neighborhood. Led by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, contributions from the MLB-MLBPA YDF, Morgan Wallen Foundation, and many other partners support a broader $2 million-dollar fundraising goal to complete Phase 1 renovations of the complex, which entails renovation of two of the four baseball and softball fields.

The MLB-MLBPA YDF is a joint initiative by Major League Baseball and the Players Association to support efforts that focus on improving the caliber, effectiveness and availability of amateur baseball and softball programs across the United States and internationally. YDF has extensive involvement in the funding of field renovation projects in underserved communities to help revitalize existing baseball and softball fields, including the Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx and 100th Development Park at Reedbird Park in Baltimore, MD.

In the Metro Nashville area, more than 100 elementary and middle schools, and seven out of ten Metro high schools, don’t offer baseball and softball programs due to lack of fields. Located in Davidson County District 2, the Parkwood Community Club serves a predominately underserved Black/African-American population with the lowest median household income of Davidson County’s 35 Districts at $34,000.* Through the revitalization initiative, Habitat and its sponsoring partners aim to provide youth and families in the Parkwood neighborhood with enhanced field and recreational offerings.

Key Partner Quotes:
“In visiting the historic fields, I instantly felt the significance of Parkwood to Nashville’s baseball and softball community,” said Jean Lee Batrus, Executive Director, MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation. “These sports have the power to strengthen lives and communities. YDF is thrilled to team up with Habitat for Humanity and other partnering organizations who are equally passionate about empowering youth access to baseball and softball.”

"The Nashville Sounds utilize the power of baseball to positively impact our community,” said Adam English, General Manager, Nashville Sounds. “Through our participation in "The Nine" program, this project is a great way for us to make an impact in giving all kids access to the best baseball facilities possible. My hope is that renovating these fields will yield a new generation of great ball players in Nashville, just like six-time MLB All-Star Mookie Betts.”

“Our mission is to build homes, communities and hope by partnering with the Parkwood Board and all our funders who understand this is an important community investment, we will not only save a vital community landmark, but also add quality-of-life resources to an underserved community,” said Sherry Stinson, Parkwood and Collaboration Project Lead and SVP of Brand Engagement for Habitat of Greater Nashville.

Habitat of Greater Nashville continues to seek funding for a community collaboration to restore the historic baseball park, the establishment of a proposed 59-acre Metro Park that adjoins the Parkwood Community Club ballfields, and to build 26 new affordable Habitat homes in District 2.

Alternative folk-rock troubadour Fred Abong (Throwing Muses, Belly) unveils 'Fear Pageant' title track from seventh album

“Purity and honesty in his approach that gets more and more intense with each track... like you’re riding a wave of energy” ~ Higher Plain Music

“Thoughtful, minimalist. The ghost of Syd Barrett watches over everything... ‘another sonic leap forward” ~ Real Gone Rocks

“An almost painful intimacy to his words despite the oblique phrasing and imagery he conjures” ~ Isolation Records

“An ascent out of singer-songwriter folk territory into something bordering on punk and psychedelia” ~ Fatea Magazine

“Beautifully raw, uncluttered and quite cinematic... Melodically infectious and lyrically mysterious ~ Newport Naked

New Orleans-based alternative folk-rock artist
Fred Abong presents his latest single 'Fear Pageant', the title track from his new 'Fear Pageant' album - his seventh to date. Released via Seattle label Disc Drive, on this album, Abong upholds his reputation for creating music that is a blend of “ragged Replacements and lyric-driven Bob Dylan” and “Elliott Smith with balls”.

“I have a habit of writing the title track for an album last, which is what happened with previous albums
'Homeless', 'Pulsing' and 'OMOPH', and now again with 'Fear Pageant'. I think it must be something about being steeped in the mood/vibe of the collection of songs that have slowly revealed themselves that makes it possible or even inevitable that a summation or capstone song would show up at the end," says Fred Abong.

"In any case, though somewhat short, the song 'Fear Pageant' distills the various elements of all the tracks into a little nugget of mystery, romance, dread, and groove. The video is less realized - light as a feather and kind of thrown together and spare - but I still think it works as an ephemeral companion to the song."

Fred Abong got his musical start in the 1980’s as a drummer, bassist and guitarist on the Rhode Island hardcore punk scene. In the early 1990s, he played bass for Throwing Muses and then Belly. He then put music on hold for academic pursuits, earning a PhD in Humanities and teaching at various universities for eight years before returning to music. Now back as a solo artist, Abong also plays bass in the Kristin Hersh Electric Trio.

A Filipino-American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Abong's music has a raw and unpolished production aesthetic with an overall direct, though deceptively imaginative and oblique, presentation. Abong has also been a
practicing Vedic astrologer for the past 20 plus years.

"This album started with the love of a new guitar I had recently purchased - a gold Gretsch Rancher Penguin. As with all my guitars, I immediately adjusted it to baritone tuning and began writing. Pretty quickly, I had enough songs for a record. I knew these songs were going to get a fuller production treatment than previous efforts though. The main reason for this is that, like a good commie, I was finally in possession of the means of production, having been gifted a Mac Workbook, upon which to load my DAW of choice. With the aid of a keyboard MIDI controller, I could finally do everything myself, which has always been my dream. Fear Pageant is thus my first attempt at a truly DIY solo effort," says Fred Abong.

"Outside of these technical details, the songs are of course rooted in the same existential and romantic hangups as usual, i.e., in an ongoing anxiety about my tenuous place in the world and in the lives of intimates. Taken together, the subject matter of the songs struck me as a kind of never-ending personal drama, one that others might also identify with, of course, but one that feels incredibly ostentatious and elaborate ‘on the inside’. Like a one-man Fear Pageant, in other words."

In the lead-up to the album's release, Abong also released the lead singles
'Father' and 'My Way'. The new album itself follows Abong's 'Yellowthroat' album, released in 2022 and recorded with Rob Ahlers (50FOOTWAVE, Kristin Hersh Electric Trio).

His songs are existentially and romantically focused, poetic, and slightly off-kilter. Detuned guitars, unconventional song structures, and a raw and unpolished production aesthetic characterize the overall sound. Fred’s hypnotic, sometimes gravelly voice adds to the effect.

'Fear Pageant' is out now and available across fine music platforms, including
Bandcamp. The record is available on vinyl or as a digital download.

EXTINCTION A.D. Call Out False Allies with New Single "Morality Bait"

New York metal heathens Extinction A.D. are returning with another blistering slice of their signature metallic hardcore punk in the form of new single "Morality Bait". Listen to the new track, out via Unique Leader Records below.

Serving as a scathing callout of performative activists, "Morality Bait" focuses Extinction A.D's impeccable combination of groove metal, thrash and hardcore in to a furious riff-storm overlaid by a pointed lyrical evisceration of those exploiting morality for personal gain. Vocalist Rick Jimenez elaborates:

"Exploitation of moral causes is nothing new but it has never been more prevalent and transparent as it's been recently. No surprise that people talk out of both sides of their mouth when there is profit to be made though. "Morality Bait" is a powerhouse song that takes the frustration with false allies and rallies for their destruction with the weightiest Extinction A.D. riffs yet."

"Morality Bait" is just the beginning of the next chapter of Extinction A.D. Keep it locked for big news coming soon.

ABOUT EXTINCTION A.D.

For almost a decade, Long Island, New York’s Extinction A.D. have been bringing an intense and ferocious approach to metal. The frenetic energy and power of their live show is now matched on the brand new track, "Morality Bait" and the new era of the band it heralds, following the band's 2022 full length release, Culture Of Violence.

So many different worlds shaped this band; from writers like Alan Moore and George Orwell; lyricists like Wreak Havoc and Chuck D; to directors like Tarantino and John Carpenter. But musically, Extinction A.D. hook up a tube of early 90s era of metal into their veins. Not just bands like Pantera and Machine Head, but the often overlooked 90s offerings from Testament, Sepultura and Slayer.

Thrashing just as hard as their predecessors, the band also break their surroundings down and deliver some heavy as hell riotous mosh; hitting that all-important sweet spot mixture of 80s thrash, 90s extreme metal and New York hardcore, all encompassed into one.

KIMONO PAT RELEASES “DEMON SLAYER” Urban Pop Meets Japanese Melodies: Kimono Pat's Music Redefines Genre Boundaries

Multi-talented powerhouse and rising star in the music industry, Kimono Pat, has released his new single “Demon Slayer,” today. This captivating song, inspired by personal experiences and influenced by anime and Japanese culture, promises to resonate deeply with listeners around the world. "Demon Slayer" was born from Kimono Pat's relentless pursuit to connect his personal journey with the struggles that people face every day. The song embodies the emotional rollercoaster of hopelessness and hope, exploring the constant battle between feeling defeated and triumphant. Drawing on instruments such as piano, drums, guitar, and shamisen, the track's eclectic mix creates a mesmerizing fusion of urban pop and Japanese culture.

Recalling the genesis of "Demon Slayer," Kimono Pat revealed, "I got the idea from watching an anime with the same title, but I wanted to find a way to make it relevant to my experiences and the challenges we all face in life." "Demon Slayer" is set to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving listeners inspired by the message of resilience and the drive to embrace personal evolution. As Kimono Pat himself asserts, "Music is always evolving, and it's essential to stay true to your artistry, drawing from life experiences to continuously evolve as an artist." Inspired by the likes of Jaden Smith, Travis Scott, Amine, Don Toliver, Tobi Lou, as well as legendary producers Timbaland and Pharrell; Kimono Pat has a personal commitment to successfully merge hip-hop with Japanese culture, creating a one-of-a-kind musical and visual experience for his fans.

A true music aficionado, Kimono Pat's passion for music ignited at a young age, when he found solace in playing various instruments in his grandfather's church in Alabama. Growing up, Kimono Pat found refuge in video games, often losing himself in their captivating worlds. Although anime and Japanese pop culture weren't widely accepted at the time, especially in the South, his fascination with the art form persisted. "My love for Japanese culture and music are the two things that have been with me for the longest. Playing instruments in my grandfather's church since 3rd grade and immersing myself in anime and Japanese pop culture led me to the name 'Kimono Pat,' symbolizing the seamless fusion of these essential aspects of my life," Kimono Pat explained. Guided by this early devotion, he studied music education at Alabama A&M and earned an audio engineering degree at The Los Angeles Recording School. Under the mentorship of esteemed music director Charlie Wilson and through collaborations with award-winning composer Jermaine Stegall, Kimono Pat has emerged as a versatile and gifted artist. His diverse musical expertise has allowed him to craft a sound that transcends genres, merging the best of hip-hop and Japanese cultural influences into an electrifying musical fusion.

The first single, along with the pre-order for the new album, will be announced soon.

Dutch contemporary metal adventurers Autarkh are back with their sophomore full-length album Emergent. Michel Nienhuis, founder of Autarkh and Dodecahedrom, teamed up again with guitarist/producer David Luiten (Inferum), bassist Desmond Kuijk (Dear Mother) and electronics wizard Tijnn Verbruggen to create the follow-up to their highly acclaimed debut album 'Form In Motion', released by Season Of Mist on 12 March 2021. Monica Kendrick (Chicago Reader, US) on the relevance of the group’s debut:

"And I’ll call it now: given the time to flourish and sink into the ears of an audience, Autarkh will become highly influential on the next generation of extreme metal."

'Emergent' is another testament to Autarkh’s imagination and creativity. It delivers increased versatility and contrast, and sees the band expand towards more uplifting and consonant territories. Form In Motion explored the boundaries of sonic extremes; on 'Emergent', Autarkh broadens its horizon and shows diversity and nuance while preserving its intense and razor-sharp edge.

With nine tracks, 'Emergent' is a sonic exploration of the inner universe where all things light and dark can be encountered. The listener is lured into an "Open Focus" (a meditative state of mind) in preparation for an inward journey along the physical energy centers. From the thumping synth basses of "Strife" and the menacing sludgy melancholy of "Duhkha", we move into the bewildering blasts of "Trek", where stellar harmonies will eventually burst through the oppressive atmosphere. The trip continues with the crushing downtempo groove that enforces "Refocus", as well as the mind-bending a capella interlude "Aperture" and the frivolous "Eye Of Horus" and "Countless Kaleidoscopes", to finally deliver all-encompassing enlightenment with Ka.

Composers Nienhuis’s and Luiten’s statements and states of mind capture the same capriciousness and unease of 'Form In Motion', this time leaving a more open, diverse and radiant imprint. With exciting vocal harmonies, bold contrasts and a vivid imagination, Autarkh sheds a bright light on the inner self and exposes it to the world with intensity and conviction. That makes Emergent an evocative release with a multilayered yet crystal-clear production that promises a bright future for Autarkh.

Grove Street Share Tour Survival-Themed Video For "Ulterior Motives"

DEBUT ALBUM THE PATH TO RIGHTEOUSNESS OUT SEPTEMBER 29 VIA UNFD

Southampton hardcore/thrash quintet GROVE STREET have released "Ulterior Motives," the latest taste from their debut album, The Path To Righteousness, out on September 29 through UNFD.

Watch the video
below.

"'Ulterior Motives' is a song that goes through the motions of someone who is stuck in a toxic and abusive relationship with someone or something — be it a partner, friend or substance, or even a vice like gambling — and cannot find a way out. They keep getting pulled back into the situation at hand; they're in love, addicted, and can't see the impact of damage that's being done to them, because they've got rose-tinted glasses on," says guitarist Sandy.

He continues, "The second verse changes focus from the relationship/addiction itself to how people around that person turn a blind eye to what’s going on, because it's easier for many to just play ignorant to issues than to call it out or address it, which in turn just enables the problem to manifest further."

He also shares, "The outro finds the person coming to the realization that they're better off out of the relationship/addiction, and in order to live a better life they gotta move on. Musically, this is one of our favorite tracks on the record; I feel like it captures our sound as a whole perfectly; from the bouncy, hip-hop-inspired grooves in the intro that lead into the thrash feel. The outro is personally my proudest part of the record, I remember writing that and being so surprised with myself — like 'Where the fuck did that come from?'"

"The 'Ulterior Motives' video started life as a 'Tour Survival Guide' skit imagined by Sully (vocals). We were spitballing ideas in the van about all the trials and tribulations we've faced being in a touring band, reminiscing about all the previous funny ventures we've experienced together. Most of these skits are based on true stories, like the time our van got clamped in Slovenia and Joe (bass), using nothing but brute force, managed to rip it off. We hope that other bands can relate to our experiences, and it’ll also give people an insight into the touring lifestyle," says drummer Josh.

Though their origins stem from lively nights in a Southampton student house, a laugh between mates sessioning PlayStation, bonding over shared love of hardcore, metal and skate punk, UK quintet Grove Street have evolved into a fixture and figurehead of a thriving domestic heavy underground. Through years of white van grind across UK and Europe, Grove Street have sharpened their craft into a deadly weapon, one they're ready to draw.

Taking influence from the giants of '90s hardcore and metal, thrash, punk and hip hop in equal measure, the Grove Street sound is absolutely stacked with grooves, riffs, and the kind of energetic pace that’ll send you straight to the chiropractor.

Their forthcoming debut album, The Path To Righteousness, comes on like the Beastie Boys with breakdowns, Pantera with prose, Grove Street peppering their fury with a fun spirit that'll keep you grinning while riff onslaughts repeatedly thump you upside the head. But make no mistake — a joke band this ain't, their lyrics showcasing an insightful pulse and social conscience, tackling topics from police brutality to battling inner demons, beasts without and within.

"We've worked on this record for a long time," recalls Sandy, who also produced and mixed the album at his home studio. "It was a labor of love, from its inception to the DIY approach we took with the recording and mixing. This being our debut full length, we knew we wanted to level up on every front, which led us to be meticulous with every detail on every part of every song. We couldn't justify rushing it for the sake of feeding the machine. We're extremely proud of it. Every track taps into a different part of what Grove Street is."

Impure Wilhelmina Announce New EP

IMPURE WILHELMINA pull from a wide range of influences.

For 25 years now, the Geneva quarter have rolled hardcore riffs, velveteen cleans, atmospheric sludge and gloomy melodies into post-metal that's as sharp and versatile as a Swiss Army Knife. No wonder they've earned comparisons to KEN Mode, Paradise Lost and The Smiths.

Even the band's new EP casts a wide net. 'Dead Decades' includes covers of King Crimson, The Cure and Serge Gainsbourg.
Head over to the Season of Mist YouTube channel and watch as Impure Wilhelmina flip the smoky, after-dark romance of "La Javanaise" into a lovestruck indie rock triumph.

"As soon as we thought about doing covers, this song came to mind", the band says. "Serge Gainsbourg, one of the major figures of twentieth-century French music, has been around us for a very long time, even if his musical universe is far removed from our own. 'La Javanaise' is one of his greatest (and least subversive) classics, published in 1963. This heavy cover of a song written before metal even existed contrasts with the light-hearted romanticism of the lyrics. It fits perfectly with the spirit of Impure Wilhelmina. For the video, we used archive footage of Paris in the 1960s to match the atmosphere. The whole thing was beautifully edited by Guilherme Henriques and the result is stunning!"

Along with the three covers, the new EP also includes two unreleased cuts from their recent album 'Antidote'.

'Dead Decades' comes out on October 6, 2023.
Pre-order it HERE.

For 25 years, Impure Wilhelmina has been shaping a singular music on the borders of rock and metal. The Geneva quartet has never been afraid to reinvent itself and to push back the stylistic barriers, without ever losing its strong identity. Intensity, melody, power and melancholy are the key words that guide the band's discography, developing record after record a subtle blend of metal, post-hardcore, new wave and indie rock sounds.

Impure Wilhelmina has experienced many line-up changes over the years around Michael Schindl, singer-guitarist, main composer and lyricist. Founded in 1996, the group quickly built a reputation in the local, then Swiss and European independent scenes. The band has released a 7″, an EP, a split and seven full-length albums (see discography).

Impure Wilhelmina has regularly collaborated with sound engineers and producers Serge Morattel (I Can't Believe I Was Born In July – 2001, L'Amour, La Mort, L'Enfance Perdue – 2004, Prayers And Arsons – 2008) and Raphaël Bovey (Black Honey – 2014, Radiation – 2017). These five albums illustrate the constant musical evolution of the band, which from a very dark and metal base gradually incorporates more rock elements. The clear vocals occupy an increasingly important place in the compositions, reinforcing the intensity and melodic depth.

In 2015, thanks to the great response to Black Honey, Impure Wilhelmina signed with the reference metal label Season of Mist, which published Radiation two years later in 2017. Skillfully navigating between melodies and dissonances, always at the service of raw emotion, this sixth album was unanimously acclaimed by the press and the public, opening the doors to wider recognition.

In 2019, the band received great reward by being one of the four recipients of the grants for contemporary music awarded by the City of Geneva. This support has enabled Impure Wilhelmina to start working on a new album with confidence and with the will to develop their sound and get out of their comfort zone. The band put a lot of efforts in the elaboration and production of its new songs, notably by calling on Yvan Bing, producer and sound engineer, to accompany the four musicians throughout the creation process. This successful collaboration began in the summer of 2019 and continued for over a year, giving rise to Impure Wilhelmina's seventh album, Antidote. Released in may 2021, this album is a testament to the creativity and versatility of the band, which never ceases to explore new horizons without ever getting lost.

After two European tours in 2022 (with Crippled Black Phoenix and MØL, then Shores of Null), Impure Wilhelmina focused in 2023 on the vinyl reissue of their second album "I can't believe I was born in July", for its 20th anniversary, and the release of a new EP entitled “Dead Decades”, which features three covers and two previously unreleased tracks.

Pre-save or pre-order your copy of The Catalyst, here:
https://amaranthe.bfan.link/the-catalyst.a01

The Catalyst will be available digitally and in different physical formats including CD, Vinyl, and a 2CD Special Edition.

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE's storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

"We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time," Mörck grins. "In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally, the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous."

The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock, and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

BLEED FROM WITHIN | Release New Single 'The Will to Resist' Taken From 'Shrine Deluxe Edition' Out November 10th

Having completed a hugely successful debut American tour earlier this year with August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada, Bleed From Within are now currently in the midst of a colossal summer tour, taking in both headline shows, some performances with Heaven Shall Burn and festival appearances at the likes of Brutal Assault (Czech Republic), Summer Breeze (Germany) and Alcatraz (Belgium). This run is due to be topped off by a 13-date tour supporting Trivium across the UK and a visit to the USA for Blue Ridge Rock Fest.

To mark this energetic period of live shows, Bleed From Within have today released a new single titled 'The Will To Resist', taken from their Shrine Deluxe Edition which will be released on November 10th 2023.

Their stunning latest studio album Shrine
was released in the summer of 2022, marking the band's most groundbreaking work to date and staking out Bleed From Within's bold intent. The Scottish 5-piece claiming their position as the most exciting prospect in modern metal.

Ali Richardson stated,
"It's been an amazing year for us since the release of Shrine! As the touring schedule started to fill up, we truly began to appreciate the effect the album was having on our career so we put this idea in motion of releasing a Deluxe Edition for our fans. The 3 new songs that can be found here were very nearly a part of the initial release. They're all very different in their composition and many arguments were had whilst settling on our final tracklisting. "The Will To Resist" takes the lead single here as a band favorite. I'm sure its intensity will resonate with our audience. You can visit our website to pre-order your copy of the limited edition vinyl and check out the merchandise we've put together alongside it. Thanks for the support!"

Bleed From Within released their stunning studio album Shrine in June 2022. It was the most fiercely anticipated record of their career, and their most groundbreaking work to date.

Shrine was recorded at Real World Studios and at Bleed From Within's HQ, UK. The record was self-produced. Mixing was handled by Adam 'Nolly' Getgood and Sebastian Sendon, with engineering handled by Adam 'Nolly' Getgood and Bleed From Within. The Shrine artwork was created by David Provan, with layout by Simon Atkinson.

Bleed From Within have been to hell and back, but they are no strangers to enduring hardship. When a global pandemic threatened to shut down their plans, the Glaswegians collectively raised five middle fingers and pressed on. It’s no surprise that this unstoppable riff machine continues to crush forward at such a frantic pace – there's no putting the breaks on the heaviest band to ever emerge from Scotland.

The band’s reputation as one of the most formidable forces in modern metal has earned them tour slots with Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Testament and Heaven Shall Burn, to name just a few. 2021 saw them dominate the UK live scene; selling out their largest ever headline tour in November, capturing hearts on Bullet For My Valentine’s arena tour, slay a Lamb Of God livestream support slot, alongside (literally) blazing performances atDownload Festival and Bloodstock Festival.

Shrine has taken the most graft to put together of any record in their catalog, challenging their self-perception on both personal and technical levels - the culmination of two years of hard work that embodies their artistic might. Armed with the learnings of evolving their sound over the last decade without ever losing sight of their DIY roots, this is Bleed From Within at their very best. There’s no denying the band’s inevitable next steps are world domination, with Shrine a turning point moment.

Craig Gowans - Guitar
Steven Jones - Guitar
David Provan - Bass

SABATON - Introducing “Heroes Of The Great War”

Following the successful launch of the Weapons Of The Modern Age EP on September 30, 2022, SABATON are excited to announce that Heroes Of The Great War, their second EP of the Echoes Of The Great War EP trilogy, is now available and features a never-heard-before track entitled 'The First Soldier'.

The brand new Heroes Of The Great War EP focuses on some of the boldest, most courageous heroes of World War I. For SABATON, these are people whose stories need to be told and whose narratives truly resonate with the band on a personal level.

Remarking on the concept of the new EP, Pär Sundstrom says: “Those involved in conflict and war push themselves beyond their limits, both physically and psychologically, and often achieve extraordinary things. They have no choice but to be brave and have no option but to do everything they can to protect what they are fighting for. Humans are programmed for survival, and some of these heroes’ tales that we write about are jaw-dropping. This EP is our tribute to them and our way of ensuring that these stories are not forgotten and get the recognition they deserve.”

Referring to the new track, 'The First Soldier', Pär adds: “We are really excited to be releasing a new song with this EP and we are eager to see how people respond to the incredible story behind it. The song is about Albert Severin Roche, a World War I hero who believed he was destined for great things. And despite the doubts of his peers and the odds being stacked against him, he achieved the unbelievable.”

Albert Severin Roche was born in France and his father was a farmer. Roche signed up for the French Army at the age of 18. To his very core, he knew he was destined for great things, but standing only 1.58 meters tall, he wasn’t what the army was looking for, and he was rejected. Despite this, he eventually managed to enlist and was assigned to the 30thBattalion of Chasseurs. To begin with, Albert was not a model recruit and his fellow recruits and officers did not respect him. A fighter at heart with a fire for war burning inside him, he proved them all wrong. He was assigned to the 27th Battalion of Chasseurs Alpins (known by the Germans as “Blue Devil”) and became known as The First Soldier of France for his heroism and his successful missions.

By the end of WW1, Albert had been wounded 9 times and had captured over 1,180 prisoners.

Joakim Broden says: “It’s amazing to hear these World War I stories about how individuals who are often doubted and looked down on end up becoming some of the most celebrated and respected heroes in military history. The story of 'The First Soldier' is a lesson to never judge a book by its cover. People are capable of incredible things, and Albert Severin Roche’s determination and heroism are admirable. We hope people feel the same way we felt when we first heard his story.”

San Francisco singer-songwriter E.G. Phillips presents new single 'A Bridge Too Far (MacArthur Station)'

"A fabulous heartfelt confessional... A purveyor of the urban blues, Phillips offers an enthralling proposition in this beautifully wrought song" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A romancing of the senses with its noir lit contemplation and that almost boozy air to its fiery breath... a soulful engagement as off kilter and unique as it is warmly beguiling and emotively comforting" ~ Ringmaster Review
'
"E.G. Phillips channels dark singer-songwriters… Like a distant cousin of his forbearers Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and Leonard Cohen... It's always satisfying to discover something with such an old wise soul." ~ Real Gone

San Francisco-based artist
E.G. Phillips presents his new single 'A Bridge Too Far (MacArthur Station)' featuring Grace Renaud on vocals. This previews his forthcoming 'Outlaw The Dead' EP, mixed and produced by Chris McGrew and Billboard-charting producer Jaimeson Durr (Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Hope Sandoval).

Although the underlying backing track is a gentle bossa nova, there’s an undercurrent of tension and despair from the David Gilmour-esque riffs of an electric guitar and vocals that pierce through the darkness of the night as we are privy to a tormented inner dialogue.

The setting is a light rail station in the East Bay, where connections are made and missed and our protagonist is left stranded for an indeterminate nocturnal duration. With a refrain that directly quotes the title drop to a movie about WWII, a sense of conflict is unmistakable.

Last month, Phillips released the single 'It Ain't Good to Be in Love With You', a jazzy affair that showcases the Tom Waits meets Nick Cave-esque facets of his confessional songwriting.

This EP was recorded in Studio C of Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco (AKA
Wally’s HydeOut) at the former Wally Heider Studios, the same space where such legendary artists as Herbie Hancock, Santana, Grateful Dead, Green Day and Dead Kennedys recorded some of their most legendary releases.

"The East Bay train station in which this song is set is one where I've been stuck many times -- at night when you are alone in the dark, it can be a time for quiet reflection, or in this case a tumultuous inner dialogue, one rooted in conflict, as implied by the allusions to the WWII movie of the same name," explains E.G. Phillips.

A tech refugee originally from the Midwest, Phillips ultimately found greener grass on the West coast. Originally from Chicago suburbs, but having also lived in East Central Illinois and Minnesota, his musical journeys have grown more adventurous since relocating to the Bay Area at the turn of the century, especially since venturing out on the open mic scene in San Francisco -- finding a musical home of sorts at Bazaar Cafe.

With the steadfast backing of his band
Ducks With Pants, Phillips blends lyric-driven compositions with his own special blend of whimsy and cinematic imagery, offering a wry take in dealing with the longings of the heart and the madness of existence.

Grace Renaud is a vocal coach and minister of music. Currently music director at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a pianist / cantor at Grace Cathedral, she also previously served as interim music director of the Queer Chorus of San Francisco, in addition to directing Soul Shine, a jazz combo accompanied by a choir of 25+ volunteers and professionals.

As of August 9, 'A Bridge Too Far (MacArthur Station)' is available across fine music platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp, where Phillips' back catalogue can also be explored. On August 6, Phillips performed at Bazaar Cafe in San Francisco to celebrate this release
