COLIN STOUGH FIGHTS MIDNIGHT TEMPTATION IN “MAKES TWO OF US

19 Recordings/BMG Nashville artist Colin Stough battles the midnight temptation of an on-again-off-again romance in “Makes Two of Us.” Available across all streaming platforms and digital retailers, listen here.

“‘Makes Two of Us’ is about that after a breakup thing where you keep thinking about your ex. It’s those lonely moments when your brain kicks in and you start thinking about them, then you start debating on whether or not you should reach out just in case they’re thinking of you too,” shares Stough. “You find yourself wondering if they’re thinking of doing the same, even though you know that reaching out never gets you anywhere and is pretty much a horrible idea.”

Co-written by Stough with Alex Maxwell and Cole Taylor, the late-night breakup anthem of intrusive thoughts captures a conflicted heart caught in a feedback loop of heartbreak and loneliness, and about to give in just one more time. Showcasing a complex artist-writer who continues to hone his lyrical craftsmanship, its lyrics pass no judgment on who was right and who was wrong, instead zeroing in on the raw relatability of a wounded soul desperate for relief – consequences be damned.

Feeling like a gathering storm, the pitch-black production from Alex Maxwell helps put the growing urge in sonic terms – while also eclipsing the power of Stough’s Promiseland EP debut. With a heavy-handed Rock foundation, distorted guitars thunder alongside pounding drums and streaks of steel guitar lightning, but Stough weaves in tender moments to explore the emotional conflict as well – all while his volcanic Southern vocal fights confusing signals. On the one hand, he should resist what’s surely the start of another toxic cycle. But on the other, the craving for connection is real, and, hopefully, coming from both sides.

With more new music promised soon, Stough’s stacking music festival appearances this summer after headlining the past year while also supporting artists like Chase Matthew, Kidd G, and Drake White. Find upcoming show dates here.

COLIN STOUGH KEEPS THE FAITH WITH “I STILL TALK TO JESUS (ACOUSTIC)”

19 Recordings/BMG artist Colin Stough starts the new year off with a powerful message of resilience, as he offers up a fresh rendition of one of his biggest hits with “I Still Talk To Jesus (Acoustic).” Available across all streaming platforms and digital retailers, listen here.

A Country-Rock ballad of unshakable hope, “I Still Talk To Jesus” was originally part of Stough’s standout time on ABC’s American Idol in 2022. Eventually finishing third on Season 21, Stough released the aching anthem alongside his fellow Top 5 finalists, showing fans a moving example of inner toughness – and one heart’s weary-yet-determined refusal to give up on love.

Produced by Sean Rogers, Stough’s new acoustic take of the track further highlights that message. Using only guitar to back his dynamic Mississippi vocal, the rising star dials down his million-watt intensity for a captivating blend of wounded soul and falsetto grit, cutting straight to heart of one of his most popular songs. Meanwhile, a raw performance of the all-natural track – penned by Stough, Sean Thomas Rogers, and Francisco Martin – was captured and edited by Mike Rodway.

“I wanted to share this track to start the new year off right!” Stough says. “This was one of my biggest songs last year and a fan-favorite, so I hope everyone enjoys this acoustic take. It’s just one of them records where the words cut deep, and I think this version really lets ‘em shine.”

“I Still Talk To Jesus (Acoustic)” follows the recent release of “Sleep Tonight (Acoustic)” – another reimagined favorite revealing Stough’s heartfelt lyricism – and a gravelly rendition of the Elvis Presley holiday classic, “Blue Christmas.”

In October 2023, the emerging artist released his six-track debut EP,
Promiseland, and has since captured the attention of both critics and fans alike. Country Now praises, “Promiseland showcases a deep level of honesty and authenticity,” as they further named him among their Country Next: Artists To Watch In 2024 list. Likewise, Stough made Holler’s New and Upcoming Country and Americana Artists You Need to Know roundup, hailing that he’s a “singer who was born to do this,” with a voice that’s “equally at home singing grungy Southern rock as it is twangy old school country.”

Spending last year headlining while also supporting artists like Kidd G and Drake White, he’s next on deck with Chase Matthew starting in February. Find upcoming show dates

COLIN STOUGH LETS THOUGHTS RUN WILD IN “SLEEP TONIGHT (ACOUSTIC)”

19 Recordings/BMG artist Colin Stough bares a wounded soul in the stripped-down “Sleep Tonight (Acoustic),” sharing a new rendition alongside a performance video today (12/8). Available across all streaming platforms and digital retailers, listen here.

Written by Stough with Sean Thomas Rogers and Brian Congdon, the original version was part of his six-track debut EP,
Promiseland – a crunchy power-confession full of worry over the fragility of life, which helped introduce the new-school Country rocker with a high-voltage vocal.

“I actually started this one as a poem, so a more raw version felt true to where this song came from. I was really hurting after hearing about another death in my life and I just started writing,” shares Stough. “Once I took that poem into the writing room, we got our guitars and started writing, so it really did begin as a guitar-vocal. Stripping back the production lets these lyrics be the focus and makes it hit even harder since this writing is so personal to me.”

“Sleep Tonight (Acoustic)” reveals the man behind the words, peeling back a rough exterior to showcase a deep-feeling artist within, as Stough tones his raspy vocal down to a soft buzz and sings with just an acoustic guitar in support. Produced by Sean Rogers, the reimagined tune ends up highlighting the relatable agony of the young artist’s lyrics, aching over thoughts that run wild each night. Meanwhile, up close-and-personal acoustic performance footage that was filmed and edited by Mike Rodway
captures the internal struggle, as Stough sinks into emotional turmoil – before finding the strength to carry on.

Named among Holler’s New and Upcoming Country and Americana Artists You Need to Know,“Stough’s gravelly rock drawl is equally at home singing grungy Southern rock as it is twangy old school country, and Promiseland is a fitting showcase for every side of a singer who was born to do this.” “Sleep Tonight (Acoustic)” further follows the November release of Stough’s take on “Blue Christmas,” channeling a Rock icon and fellow Mississippi native for a gritty-but-still-tender version of Elvis Presley’s holiday classic.

A series of previous singles have so far racked up more than 9.4 MILLION global on-demand streams, and looking ahead, the promising singer-songwriter will continue to lead his band on stages all around the country. Spending this past year headlining while also supporting artists like Kidd G and Drake White, he’s next on deck with Chase Matthew in 2024. Find upcoming show dates

COLIN STOUGH DELIVERS A RASPY-SOUL RENDITION OF “BLUE CHRISTMAS”

Country newcomer and 19 Recordings/BMG artist Colin Stough puts a raspy-Soul spin on a classic today (11/17), letting his sandpaper vocal loose for an icy, twangy rendition of “Blue Christmas.” Available across all streaming platforms and digital retailers, listen here.

Originally written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson, the colorful Christmastime anthem became a timeless favorite in the hands of The King, Elvis Presley, capturing the all-too-common twinge of holiday heartache. A fellow Mississippi native, Stough now puts his own mark on the track – while also paying homage to his roots.

Produced by Alex Maxwell, the singer-songwriter dials his blowtorch vocal down to a warm fireside glow, letting each heavyhearted word roll out slow and lonesome – just like the Big River itself. Meanwhile, his reverb-heavy guitar captures an edgy vibe somewhere between honky-tonk and Hot R&B, with a thick bass line and a festive touch of sleigh bells joining in. It adds up to a gritty-but-still-tender take on a tune Stough’s known his whole life.

“Elvis Presley is not only a legend overall, but he's also a Mississippi boy like me. I grew up about 30 minutes from where he was born,” Stough shares. “I love ‘Blue Christmas’ and wanted to do a version of my own. It’s got this smooth, bluesy vibe which I really dig.”

Releasing just as the holiday season begins, Stough’s “Blue Christmas” follows the October delivery of his debut EP,
Promiseland – a heady collision of grungy Southern Rock and pure-Country style that introduces a rising talent.

Just 19 years old and coming off a standout third-place finish on Season 21 of American Idol in 2022, Stough has stunned fans with a freight train of full-bodied vocal rasp and his down-home blend of Hard Rock and twang, both in the studio and on the stage.

Stough has spent this past year headlining shows across the nation, while also supporting artists like Kidd G and Drake White. Next on deck with Chase Matthew in 2024, find upcoming show dates

COLIN STOUGH REACHES THE COUNTRY ROCK PROMISELAND WITH DEBUT EP

Country newcomer and 19 Recordings/BMG artist Colin Stough reaches a milestone that was once just a pipe dream today (10/20), releasing his debut EP, Promiseland.

A heady collision of grungy Southern Rock and pure-Country style featuring six fresh tracks – with all but one co-written by Stough and produced by the likes of Alex Maxwell, Sean Rogers, and Austin Shawn – helps introduce a Mississippi-born vocal flamethrower and guitar slinger with a true underdog story.

Just 19 years old and coming off a standout third-place finish on Season 21 of American Idol in 2022, Stough was still in high school until last year and had been working full-time as an HVAC technician after graduation. But once his mother convinced him to audition for Idol, that life became history.

Now based in Nashville, and mixing a freight train of full-bodied vocal rasp with a down-home blend of Hard Rock and twang, his debut EP marks the culmination of a whirlwind journey – and the start of an exciting new chapter.

“This EP represents who I am and where I’m from,” Stough says. “It speaks to my life these past few years and has become a source of comfort for me. Maybe that’s why I called it Promiseland. I hope it can be that for you, too.”

Along with preparing for the release of Promiseland, Stough has spent 2023 headlining shows across the nation, while also supporting fellow rising star Kidd G and Country-Soul troubadour Drake White. A series of previous singles have so far racked up more than 9.4 MILLION global on-demand streams, with “‘Til the Day One Does” on deck.

A brooding ballad of romantic longing wrapped in dark Western sonics and Stough’s blowtorch vocal, the low-down anthem co-written by Stough alongside Geoff Warburton, Gavin Lucas, and Austin Shawn is all about an on-the-run loner who may be hard to love – but nevertheless, holds his head high. Crunchy guitars, banjo, and whispering steel set the stage for what’s to come.

"This song is badass, man. It just feels cool, like something you’re supposed to drive around and listen to,” Stough explains. “It touches on the fast lifestyle that I’ve been forced to become adjusted to – but also, it hints at an ability to change. Something that I think we all have to do and can relate to.

WANTED: KILLED THE COWBOY MARKS DUSTIN LYNCH’S STATEMENT RECORD

There’s a high noon showdown going on inside MULTI-PLATINUM star Dustin Lynch. At 38 and single, he’s admittedly at a crossroads: Does he settle down, start a family, and lean into domesticity, or continue to carve out a life of extraordinary experiences that most people only dream of? Announcing his statement-making sixth studio album, Killed The Cowboy, today (9/8), the charismatic man in the Resistol hat bravely tries to figure that out. Celebrating the September 29 release, Lynch is now featured across Paramount’s billboards in New York City’s Times Square in partnership with CMT. Pre-save/pre-add Killed The Cowboy (Broken Bow Records) here.

“When I’m off the road and working on my farm, I have a lot of inner dialogue. It’s a boxing match inside of me, between living in the moment and enjoying where I am, versus what's the best version of me five, 10, or 20 years down the road,” Lynch explains. “What do I want to be? What do I want life to look like? Who do I want to be around? Killed The Cowboy is that back-and-forth. It’s me asking myself, ‘Am I okay? Or am I weird for not having found my person yet? And is she even out there?’ My hope is that this album finds someone who needs to hear it. I want Killed The Cowboy to embrace the single people of the world and lift them up, to let them know that you don’t have to live a ‘normal’ life to still be happy in your own skin.”

It's a stunningly self-aware series of questions not only for Lynch to ponder, but for single and newly single people everywhere. Through his 12-track journey – with five to his songwriting credit – on Killed The Cowboy, they’ll realize they’re not alone, thanks to highlights like the introspective “If I Stop Drinkin’,” the shadowy ballad “Blue Lights,” and the yearning come-on “Lone Star.” But they’ll also find a friend at the party via his raise-‘em-up anthems, from “Honky Tonk Heartbreaker” and “George Strait Jr.,” to “Chevrolet” – a nostalgic dirt road rocker with Lynch’s labelmate Jelly Roll.

Available today (9/8), the lone cowboy squares off in the brooding title track with a power strong enough to bring even the toughest man to his knees: “A girl like you.” Set to Zach Crowell’s moody production and creating a smoky, midnight-Country sound as muscular as it is wounded, theJordan Reynolds, Devin Dawson, Anderson East-penned ode captures a romantic duel where only one will walk away.
Listen to “Killed The Cowboy” and watch the visualizer below.

“When I first heard ‘Killed The Cowboy,’ I was drawn to its haunting melody, and then I got to thinking about the lyric and realized, ‘Damn, I'm this guy right now in my life,’” adds Lynch. “Relationships can come in hot and heavy and then implode. But that heartbreak, in a weird way, also makes you feel alive, to have another person move you like that. You feel that roller coaster of emotion and passion, and that sparks me creatively as an artist.”

As the much-anticipated follow-up to Blue In The Sky, Lynch’s 2022 release delivered the history-making “Thinking ‘Bout You (feat. MacKenzie Porter),” which became the #1 song on the Mediabase 2022 Year-End Chart Country and #2 on the Billboard 2022 Year-End Country Airplay Songs chart. The PLATINUM, six-week #1 collaboration remains the longest-running Top 10 single in Billboard Country Airplay chart history at 28 weeks and Broken Bow Records’ longest-reigning single at Country radio. The acclaimed fifth studio album also featured hit “Party Mode” – launching an in-demand PARTY MODE TOUR – and Lynch’s latest chart-rising single “Stars Like Confetti,” that’s currently Top 15-and-rising at Country radio.

On hand to deliver their fan-favorite “Three Favorite Colors,” the pair join a season of the All-American Summer Concert Series which has already featured 3 Doors Down, Colbie Callait, Gary LeVox, Gavin DeGraw, Justin Moore w/ Riley Green, Flo Rida and more.

Full of hand-over-heart pride and featuring LOCASH’s patented harmony blend, “Three Favorite Colors” was released in early 2023 – and follows a pair of big-name collabs in 2022, “Let It Slide” (featuring Blanco Brown and the late Leslie Jordan) and “Beach Boys” (featuring The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Bruce Johnston).

In June, LOCASH launched their “
I Love This Life Podcast,” and earlier this month they inked a new global publishing deal with Edgehill Music Publishing.

On top of a summer full of highlight appearances at the 2023 NHL Awards, the Grand Ole Opry and the Monster Jam World Finals, LOCASH toured the nation as part of Kane Brown’s DRUNK OR DREAMING TOUR, thrilling crowds with hits like their GOLD #1 “One Big Country Song,” PLATINUM breakout “I Love This Life” and GOLD #1 “I Know Somebody.”

With their loud-and-proud anthem “Three Favorite Colors” as their current release, they delivered back-to-back high-profile collaborations with “Let It Slide” (Leslie Jordan, Blanco Brown, LOCASH) and “Beach Boys” (feat. The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Bruce Johnston). LOCASH’s wild-and-free WOODS & WATER – EP (2021) marked the follow up to BROTHERS (2019), featuring GOLD #1 “One Big Country Song.” Known for PLATINUM breakout “I Love This Life” and their first #1 with GOLD “I Know Somebody,” they’ve earned eight charting singles, two successful albums, and over 815 MILLION global on-demand streams since 2015. Respected entertainers with prominent recognition, they hold a history of nods from the genre’s biggest awards shows including a Vocal Duo of the Year nomination at The 56th Annual CMA Awards.
