RED REIGN AND DEKO ENTERTAINMENT TEAM UP FOR THE RELEASE OF FORTHCOMING ALBUM "DON’T LOOK BACK" OUT ON OCTOBER 27

Richmond, VA-based rockers Red Reign take 80’s influences and steer them in a more contemporary direction – bridging the sounds of yesterday and today. The band is comprised of members singer/guitarist Carlton “Bubba” McMichael, guitarist Stevie Shred, bassist Larry Moore, and drummer Sammy Lee. Red Reign has worked with Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum producer
David Ivory (Halestorm) on both its releases: 2021’s self-titled EP and 2023’s forthcoming full-length Don’t Look Back.

Don’t Look Back, the ten-track LP is bolstered by such standout tracks as “Don’t Look Back”- highlighted by a guest appearance from guitarist George Lynch--“Here I Am,” and “No Peace, No Love.” As the band explains, “Don’t Look Back” is the favorite track as it does feature George Lynch. “It is all the ingredients for a great song: raw, heavy and melodic. It’s a song about reminiscing in the past, which were not great memories. After the reflection, this person decides to not look back any longer and one day decides to move forward with living their best life and making new, positive memories.” They continue, “Having George Lynch on a song is a dream come true. We met George through a mutual friend (Neeley from the ‘Classic Metal Show’). We asked George to guest star on a track and he agreed.”

Having already shared the stage with the likes of Dokken, Extreme, Jackyl, Lita Ford, and Tesla, Red Reign looks forward to spreading the word further with live shows in support of Don’t Look Back. The band is thrilled to join the Deko Entertainment family as Sammy Lee asserts, “We are very excited to have teamed up with Deko Entertainment for our new studio album Don’t’ Look Back. Bruce, Charlie, and the Deko team have been wonderful to work with and share our vision for promoting the new album globally.” Deko Entertainment president, Bruce Pucciarello, agrees, “With our energy bill at Deko totally paid, we are dialing up the power…Red Reign.  High voltage!”

When asked the following questions about their future this is how the guys responded. What can fans expect from seeing the band live?

“Playing live shows is the most important factor of Red Reign. We are a live band before anything else. The energy we feed to the crowd makes every performance exciting and more unique than the last. After the show, we go out and connect with our fans which makes each show special in its own right.”

Tour plans?

“Our first goal is to get the new album released. Once that is completed, we will be focusing on touring and looking to play as many cities as we can.” Don’t Look Back will be available on CD and limited-edition vinyl."

Tzarina Release New Single "HORACE" + Lyric Video to all major platforms on August 15, 2023

Post-hardcore band Tzarina is slated to release their latest single "Horace" along with an accompanying lyric video on August 15th. The single is from their forthcoming self-titled album due out later this year.

"Horace is a song that came out of another song that didn't make it to the final cut of the album. With Horace, I fell in love with the sort of darker ambient voicing of the track juxtaposed with a bluesy chorus line," says the band's vocalist, Craig William.

For songwriter Craig William, the crux of the musical endeavor powered by the band Tzarina has always been to explore the more ethereal themes evident in the mixture of metal, post-rock, and post-hardcore genres expressed in their music. This is evident in Tzarina's trail of singles, which have been seeing their release since October 2020.

It has been almost two years since the full LP was recorded, so they are slated to release their first complete work later this year. This has been a long-awaited moment for the band, who have been hard at work perfecting their sound and experimenting with various elements of their live performance.

Tzarina is comprised of Craig William on vocals and guitar, Mark Ayesh on guitar and backup vocals, Robert Scott Abrams on drums, and Michael Forsyth on bass. With the constraints resulting from the COVID pandemic, the band was forced to have a bit more of a DIY ethic, with Craig handling the brunt of the songwriting, and recording, while in isolation. This did not stop the rest of the members from contributing where they could and the result is nothing short of a sound that is distinctly their own.

This is a group that takes great pride in its artistry, and it shows in the level of care put into every aspect of their music. It is this dedication that has allowed them to continue to evolve and grow as artists.

They are known for their aggressive live shows juxtaposed with beautifully textured music and thought-provoking lyrics that explore the human experience. With heavy, driving riffs and powerful vocals, Tzarina is poised to become one of the most exciting acts coming up in the Brooklyn area.

Tzarina is a band that is constantly striving to push themselves creatively, and they show no signs of slowing down any time soon. With a new album on the horizon and an ever-growing live show, there is much to be seen and heard from this talented group of musicians. Whether you're a post-hardcore fan or just appreciate great music in general, Tzarina is definitely a band to keep your eye on.

Inca Babies' Harry Stafford and trash blues guitarist Marco Butcher take us on a 'Walk Among The Spectres', previewing new album

"Unapologetically weaving their way through varied genres, Stafford and Butcher’s bluesy story-based music is raw around the edges, while sucking you willingly inside – a sonic diamond in the rough, so to speak" ~ The Spill Magazine

"The symmetry between the two artists is remarkable... refreshing, meshing the grit of blues with an urban thematic. This is dirty but agreeable... Goes down smooth like a good shot of bourbon" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

Manchester underground music icon
Harry Stafford (Inca Babies) and US-based trash blues guitarist Marco Butcher present 'Walk Among The Spectres', the loaded first shot from their forthcoming album 'We Are The Perilous Men', coming this autumn via Black Lagoon Records.

'Walk Among the Spectres' is a cool piece of walking blues, with percussive Hammond organ and Marco Butcher’s laconic backbeat. The song is about an old friend who is fondly remembered and, in the video, our hero travels across town to put an electric piano-keyboard on his grave, discovering his own fragile mortality along the way.

Directed by Harry Stafford with cinematography by J.P. Conway, this video was filmed in the expansive Southern Cemetery in Didsbury South Manchester, which dates back to 1700 and was used throughout the Victorian era. Now a public park, people are invited to wander among the tombstones... to literally Walk among the Spectres.

Following the resounding triumph of their
'Bone Architecture' album in 2021, the duo present the second chapter of this exploration, upholding their lockdown-inspired tradition of sending ideas back and forth between North Carolina and Manchester. Creating this album unconsciously - perhaps even telepathically - their musical connection has ignited this album with an infectious energy and spirit.

Based in North Carolina, Brazil-raised trash blues guitarist Marco Butcher (Jam Messengers, Jesus and the Groupies) provides a solid backbeat, jumping with a frenetic rhythm. This foundation ranges from a mess of blues to a stumbling electro beat with Dwayne Eddie funeral guitar. His forages into dance and Hip hop see him mess with the rhythmic DNA, often inspiring the creation of a new dance shuffle at will.

“I have discovered that I spend a lot of my time knowing what I don’t want to sound like. My musical education began with punk and then, when I came to University in Manchester in the early 80s, I found myself submerged into the strange beat infused darkness of the Big city post punk music scene (Joy Division, ACR, The Fall) and I had to form the Inca Babies to make sense of it all," says Harry Stafford.

"Now 40 years later, while I have never forgotten that seismic guidance, my interests, and influence stretch so far, I need someone like Marco to constantly surprise me.”

On August 2, 'Walk Among The Spectres' will be available from fine music platforms, including
SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. The full album 'We Are The Perilous Men' will be released on September 8 and will be available on black vinyl, as well as digitally.

California-based postpunk outfit Octavian Winters present 'Undertow' single, previewing debut EP

"The track feels like it was recorded in a studio deep beneath the earth, drawing power from subterranean caves and bubbling magma. There’s tectonic thunder in the pounding drums and rumbling bass... Such power, strong and true, a voice that scales the wall of sound beneath her with ease" ~ Joyzine

San Francisco post-punk outfit
Octavian Winters presents their new single 'Undertow', a dark propulsive offering underlining an aspect of separation from the world and the darkness that comes out of it - a sort of ominous current capable of pulling someone away from all hope. The accompanying video was directed, filmed, edited and  produced by Jay Adams with design by Eric Olson and Steve Devaney.

Born into the ghostly isolation of San Francisco in 2022, Octavian Winters is Stephan Salit (guitar), Randy Gzebb (drums), Jay Denton (bass) and Ria Aursjoen (vocals, keyboards), who together weave their visceral and ethereal sound into a texture all its own – of stories once told but half-remembered, under a dusk of shadows and stars, in an abandoned city under the winter moon.

Drawing from darkwave and post-punk traditions, Octavian Winters dives into the ethereal, their layered music counterpointing edged grooves alongside lush synth textures and soaring vocal harmonies.

'Undertow' is the second single from the quartet's debut EP 'The Line of Curve', recorded in San Francisco at OW Studio and
Room 5 Recording by Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated). Produced by Octavian Winters and William Faith (The Bellwether Syndicate, Faith and the Muse, Christian Death, The March Violets), whose credits include Jarboe, Clan of Xymox, Bootblacks and Autumn, the EP was mixed and mastered by Faith at 13 Studio in Chicago.

'Undertow' is loosely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale of the little matchgirl, standing outside a window on a winter’s night, separated from all sustenance and warmth. Ignored by everyone around, and unable to sustain herself after lighting all her matches for warmth, she freezes to death in the snow.

“Could you join me here, could you find a way to melt the bones of the night?” Aursjoen sings, referencing the theme of isolation again, and the yearning for connection that will never come. “I think we have seen this dark ‘undertow’ overcome so many people in different and tragic ways during quarantine,” says Ria Aursjoen.

Octavian Winters' story begins in late 2021 thanks to a jam session that spawned from unfinished business. Gzebb and Salit, former bandmates in Thrill of The Pull, had met to discuss a film/television publishing deal for Thrill’s catalog (a four-year licensing deal has since been finalized with Expressive Artists). A subsequent jam session produced several motifs, inspiring them to meet several times over the next weeks to explore.

Gzebb invited Aursjoen, who he had met earlier via another project, to a session and the musical chemistry was immediately evident. Gzebb brought in bassist Jay Denton to round out the line up. Randy Gzebb notes, "This gave us the chance to really focus on composition and fully flesh out the song ideas”.

Octavian Winters debuted with the single
'Ondine', a song that draws from a mythical tragedy of love for a sea nymph, and the search ever after for her after she returns to the sea. The music itself transports the listener to a mythical world of sea elementals and an almost courtly love,

Each member of Octavian Winters brings their own rich musical tapestry to the collective and have shared the stage with many iconic acts over the years, including Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Lords of the New Church, Savage Republic, Christian Death, The Frozen Autumn, Everything Goes Cold and Black Tape for a Blue Girl.

Ria (Amenti) Aursjoen, who has synesthesia and has nurtured generational musical seeds planted by her opera diva grandmother Lillian, has recorded and performed in the UK and US in genres ranging from Celtic folk to progressive metal and darkwave. She left her graduate work in theoretical physics to pursue music, touring as a Celtic harpist and vocalist for several years before making her home in San Francisco.

Drummer Randy Gzebb relocated to California from Canada, immersing himself in the San Francisco and Los Angeles music scenes in various projects. He was a member of '80s gothic rock band
Love Club, who were signed by Sandy Pearlman (The Clash and The Dictators), released on MCA Records, and produced by Bill Buchanan (Fields Of The Nephilim, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Leather Nun).

Stephan Salit, who considers performing live his sacred space, has recorded and performed with a wide variety of groups including Specimen. Approaching each song as a canvas that calls for colour and depth, he views his playing as painting with sound.

Bay Area native Jay Denton, who spent some time on the road with Jack Kerouac, has had a diverse career performing classical and contemporary composers, and playing for various jazz and rock bands, including extensively with the house band at San Francisco’s famous Condor strip club. Jay has toured in London, Japan and across the United States.

As of August 2, 'Undertow' will be available from find music platforms, including
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. 'The Line or Curve' EP will be released on October 13 via Stratis Capta Records.

Armored Dawn Surprises with New Single, “Brand New Way”! Check Out DEBUT Single & Music Video for "S.O.S," Off of Upcoming Album, 'Brand New Way'!

Brazilian band ARMORED DAWN released their newest single "Brand New Way", the title track for their forthcoming fourth album, which will be released in the second half of 2023. Different from the heavy theme of the last singles, “S.O.S.” and “Tides”, “Brand New Way” brings a more optimistic view of life, of how we shouldn't let ourselves be overwhelmed by defeats or by those who want to bring us down, as there is always a new beginning and a new path to follow.

As with the previous singles, "Brand New Way" was mixed by CHRIS LORD ALGE(MUSE, GREEN DAY, NICKELBACK) and mastered by TED JENSEN (BRING ME THE HORIZON, EVANESCENCE, METALLICA), and again shows a great evolution in the band's sound. The music brings the characteristic identity that marks ARMORED DAWN's sound, expands horizons and surprises those who still don't know the band's music.

As is Armored Dawn's tradition, the new single also features a super-produced music video, directed by Rafael Agostino, also the band's keyboardist. The current lineup features Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura, and Timo Kaarkoski(guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira(drums).

Armored Dawn emerged in 2014 and became relevant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, they played tours and shows alongside great bands like Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Fates Warning, Sabaton and Tarja.

The first two albums Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by great names like Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn), Bruno Agra (We Are Harlot) and Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach).
The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, the latter a veteran producer with over 200 bands under his belt and a Latin Grammy.

Featuring a sophisticated and versatile metal, the band collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic production, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, shown in all movie theaters in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman, in 2018. “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played for around 37,000 people) add up to millions of views on YouTube.

During the pandemic, they released the single “Stronger Together”, which was very well accepted by the public.

Then, already preparing the ground for the forthcoming fourth album, “Brand New Way”, they released the singles “S.O.S.” which featured an amazing music video, and the heavy and melancholy “Tides”.

Recorded at Dharma Studios, mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), the album will be released later this year.

VeeAlwaysHere Redefines Musical Expression with the release of broken: playlist II

Producer, Songwriter and Recording Artist, VeeAlwaysHere, has just dropped the second installment of his ‘playlist’ series, titled broken: playlist II. Following the success of last year's ego: playlist I,VeeAlwaysHere continues to captivate audiences with his deeply emotive storytelling and genre-defying sound. In broken: playlist II, VeeAlwaysHere continues the

protagonist's search for love while embarking on a poignant journey of healing and self-discovery. The playlist series explores the intricacies of love, vulnerability, and human emotions, weaving a gripping narrative that leaves listeners eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

The project kicks off with the evocative track "pink roses" featuring Maria Ellis. In this soul-stirring piece, VeeAlwaysHere unapologetically refuses to seek clarity in his love life, fearing rejection and heartbreak. The raw emotions continue to pour out in track 2, "out my head," where he candidly admits to his constant thoughts about the object of his affection. However, as the story unfolds in track 3, aptly titled "broken," VeeAlwaysHere confronts the truth and acknowledges that he needs to work on himself before moving forward. The theme of self-reflection intensifies in track 4, "I don't dance," featuring Ted Park, as VeeAlwaysHere explores his avoidance and denial in a villainous origin story. Throughout the playlist, listeners witness moments of vulnerability, culminating in the heart-wrenching power-ballad "joker," whereVeeAlwaysHere realizes the detrimental cycle of falling too hard and hurting himself repeatedly. The journey concludes with "outside," where he finally prioritizes his own well-being, and "somebody," which marks a new chapter in his search for genuine love. VeeAlwaysHere's broken: playlist II stays true to the series' hallmark genre-hopping approach, showcasing his versatility as an artist. This time around, the project embraces a more grounded cinematic feel, resulting in a considerably sadder, yet deeply resonant experience.

King Calaway Releases 16-Track Sophomore Album, TENNESSEE’S WAITING

Four years after arriving with their debut project Rivers, Stoney Creek Records’ King Calaway releases their 16-track sophomore album Tennessee’s Waiting. With seven of the tracks produced by Zac Brown, and featuring collaborations with GRAMMY nominee Marcus King, ACM winner Hailey Whitters and Brown on the previously released track, “When I Get Home” — declared a “star-making release” by Billboard – the album showcases the bands’ smooth vocals and cross genre appeal.

On getting to create the album alongside Brown, King Calaway lead guitarist Caleb Miller said, “Working with Zac has been a dream come true. He pushed us to the next level and helped bring our songs to life. We’re so proud of these songs and couldn’t be more ready to share them with the world.”

Guitarist and co-lead vocalist Chad Jervis adds, “It feels pretty incredible to have a new album out after four years. We’ve been sitting on these songs for a long time, and to finally have them released in the world is a great feeling.”

Kicking off with “Best Thing About Me Now,” the upbeat track follows the group graciously acknowledging the better men they’ve become since entering relationships, as they find renewed joy in the simple things when they’re accompanied by their partners. “Let It Flow,” featuring ACM New Female Artist of the Year Hailey Whitters, continues the sentiment of soaking in the small moments with new love as they sing, “Nothing better to do but fall in love / And watch the old river flow.”

As the album progresses, so does King Calaway’s sound, as they showcase the growth they’ve experienced in the four years between projects. In their song alongside Marcus King, the band combines blues, rock and country influences as they toggle between heartbreak and temptation.

The band currently holds the opening slot on Zac Brown Band’s 2023 From the Fire Tour. "I recognized the talent this young group has and when we started working in the studio, so much more unfolded," Brown previously shared with PEOPLE. "I believe in these guys. When [producer] Keith Stegall bet on me and helped me make my first album, that was the launch of my career,” continuing, “it's great to be able to give [that same opportunity] back."

GREEN LUNG Announce New Album "This Heathen Land

The UKs finest purveyors of occult rock, GREEN LUNG, have revealed the details of their highly-anticipated third album “This Heathen Land,” that will be released on the November 3rd via Nuclear Blast Records. Alongside the announcement comes the first taste of the record, in the form of single “Mountain Throne,” a conflux of pyrotechnic guitar work and thrilling hooks.

Vocalist Tom Templar comments "We couldn't be more excited to share This Heathen Land with the world. This album is the culmination of five years of work as a band; an odyssey into the weird and wonderful world of British folklore that melds together our myriad influences - classic rock, doom, NWOBHM, horror film soundtracks, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop - and fashions something out of them that is utterly our own. 'Mountain Throne' was the first song we wrote for the album, and feels like a natural bridge from the old Green Lung to the new. We've always been inspired by the story of the Pendle Witches, and such an iconic subject required an epic rallying cry of a song - we hope that we've done these folk heroes justice!"

Pre-order “This Heathen Land” on various formats now at:

Stream “Mountain Throne” on all platforms now at:
https://greenlung.bfan.link/mtsg

“This Heathen Land” is the most complete manifestation of the band’s vision to date, fulfilling their long-held goal to, in the words of vocalist Tom Templar, “create the definitive soundtrack to the folk horror film in our heads.” On “This Heathen Land,” the band have forged a sound and identity that is entirely their own, while maintaining the Sabbathian heaviness and addictive songcraft which made their previous albums so beloved in the metal underground. From the cover art to the vinyl inserts and lyrical themes, “This Heathen Land” is a painstakingly-researched and executed heavy metal love letter to the folkloric landscape of the UK.

”This Heathen Land” was produced by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios and was mixed by Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Clutch, Ghost).

About Amon Amarth

From pole to pole and sea to sea, Amon Amarth are undisputed kings of Viking heavy metal. Formed in Tumba, Sweden, in 1992, they have forged an extraordinary legacy over three decades of thunderous, anthemic metal, all rich in the magical imagery of Viking history, folklore and culture.

From their underground smash debut 'Once Sent From The Golden Hall' (1998) onwards, Amon Amarth have been an unstoppable creative force. With a unique and unmistakable sound that combines the best of several epic strains of metal, the quintet have become renowned for their ageless anthems and explosive, theatrical live shows. Albums like 2008’s widely acclaimed 'Twilight Of The Thunder God ' and 2016’s conceptual triumph 'Jomsviking', the Swedes have been consistent standard bearers for heavy metal as a life-affirming and communal experience, armed with a seemingly endless stream of instant classic songs.

Now reaping the rewards of all those years of hard work, Amon Amarth are now regarded as one of the metal world’s most vital and imperious live acts. From headlining festivals across Europe to claiming a place on Slayer’s final tour of the US in 2019, they have honored the adventurous ethos of their Viking forebears by taking their music anywhere and everywhere.

Unfortunately, as the world ground to a halt early in 2020, Amon Amarth were in the midst of a wildly successful world tour in support of their most recent album, ‘Berserker’. Disappointed but unbowed, the band decided instead to forge a new creative path, resulting in their most crushing and heroic full-length album to date, "The Great Heathen Army".

One of the best-loved metal bands in the world, Amon Amarth are firmly dedicated to aiming high when they hit the studio. Recorded with esteemed studio guru Andy Sneap at the controls, 'The Great Heathen Army' represents another bold leap forward for the band, as their trademark sound undergoes yet another skilful, evolutionary overhaul, both lyrically and musically. From the noisily rabble-rousing "Find A Way Or Make One" and the pummelling, pugilistic "Get In The Ring", to the evocative fury of "Saxons & Vikings " and the cinematic squall of the title track, 'The Great Heathen Army' encapsulates the essence of this legendary band, while still allowing acres of space for new ideas.

Voyager reissue 'V'

Voyager have come a long way. The band just released their breakthrough album 'Fearless in Love', but they first formed back in 1999, when Daniel Estrin was studying at the University of Western Australia.

Different members have come in and out of the Voyager orbit. But by 2014, when 'V' came around, the lineup that would launch the progressive pop metal band all the way to Eurovision had locked into place.

Ashley Doodkorte has always been the one behind Voyager’s covert art, but this is their first album that features him on drums. You can feel his impact right from the jump. “Hyperventilating” tumbles through an asteroid field full of metallic riffage and proggy bass bends. When the chorus hits, the band shoot straight for pop stardom.

Today, Voyager are reissuing 'V' on CD. The new version includes two live bonus tracks. Order it from our online store
HERE.

As much as you can rely on the Earth’s elliptical orbit, you can depend on Voyager to consistently evolve. The band’s interplanetary balance of virtuosic pyrotechnics and sky scraping radio-ready hooks morphs at the speed of sound from one era to the next. In bursts of bright light, luminous keys, neon guitar wizardry, and stratosphere-shaking rhythms, they elevate hard rock to another realm. The group blast off on a signature hybrid of prog, rock, and metal possibly best described as the musical equivalent of Guardians of the Galaxy.

After piling up millions of streams, earning acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, and wowing the globe on the Eurovision Song Contest, the Perth, Australia quintet—Danny Estrin [vocals], Simone Dow [guitar], Scott Kay [guitar], Alex Canion [bass], and Ashley Doodkorte [drums]—take flight like never before on their forthcoming eighth full-length LP, Fearless In Love [Season of Mist].

“It’s progressive in the sense we’re always trying to reinvent and refresh ourselves as musicians,” notes Danny. “I want to develop musically from where we left off. We made sure Fearless In Love was melodic with some sugary hooks, but we also stayed true to our sound and delivered a few more guitar solos. It could appeal to fans of complex music as well as anybody who might want a straight-up banger. It’s a melting pot of the genres that define us distilled into the unique Voyager sound.”

This cohort of dynamic talents and personalities initially crash-landed stateside for a now-renowned performance at the 2011 ProgPower USA Festival in Atlanta, GA. Since then, they’ve unleashed a string of fan favourite albums—V [2014], Ghost Mile [2017], and Colours in the Sun [2019]—in addition to sharing stages with the likes Deftones, Leprous, Devin Townsend, Opeth, and Poppy to name a few. Australia notably handpicked Voyager as its entrant into the global Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with “Promise.” The Guardian hailed the buzzing single as “a pop number that bends the genre with trademark riffs, climactic guitars and keytar solos,” and it crashed the Top 3 of the Australian Independent Label Singles Chart. They even appeared on TODAY Australia to wave the metal flag by teaching daytime TV hosts black metal growls, as plugged by Metal Injection!

Throughout 2022, they crafted what would become Fearless In Love with engineer, mixer, and coproducer Matt Templeman. This time around, the musicians recorded live, unlocking a new energy altogether.

“Normally, we write and record our parts individually, but the whole band decided to go old school and do everything together this time,” he goes on. “This line-up has been together for twelve years, and we gel so well. It’s cool because we can play off each other like a live show with funky bass, groovy guitars, and creative drum patterns. It translates to the album.” On the single “Prince of Fire,” glimmering keys give way to a hard-hitting guitar riff as Danny’s slick vocals seesaw atop a punchy bass line.

“It’s actually one of the heaviest songs we’ve done, yet it’s got this super eighties mentality,” the front man reveals. “Lyrically, it’s about being perceived as the bad guy, even though you’re trying to do your best. You have good intentions, but sometimes you end up being the ‘Prince of Fire on night patrol’. Musically, it sways side-to-side, and then you’re crushed—which is a common theme for us.”

Then, there’s “The Lamenting.” Seventies-style sonics dissolve in a haze of riffs offset by swooning vocals and synths. Distortion drowns out the light in its final moments.

“You’re lamenting past loves and trying to let go and not wallow in those memories,” Danny elaborates. “There’s a bitter end that almost leaves you in the dark without pulling you out. It’s one of the most melancholic and sad songs on the album.”

Meanwhile, “Ultraviolet” layers a hypnotic refrain above chugging guitar as growls pierce the groove before a hummable solo.

“It’s about coping with the speed of modern society,” he states. “I like a fast-paced world, but it can be too much. You almost want to bury your head under your pillow and scream, ‘Slow down’. The expectations we have on each other as humans are just nuts. Sometimes, you need to become ultraviolet, duck under, and go, ‘No more for me, thanks’.”

The finale “Gren (Fearless In Love)” concludes the album with a climactic crescendo pushed even higher by resounding melodies and nimble instrumentation.

“When you’re in love, you have boundless energy and feelings for a person, which makes you almost invincible,” he elaborates. “There’s a huge vulnerability, because you’re not invincible at all. You’re totally susceptible to extreme hurt and letdown. There’s something beautiful about letting yourself go and fully experiencing being fearless though.”

In the end, a similar creative boundlessness drives Voyager.

“When you listen to Fearless In Love, I’d love for you to say, ‘I’ve never heard anything like this before’,” he leaves off. “Secondly, I hope you’re uplifted, intrigued, and emotional. We try take you on a journey through struggle, positivity, negativity, and a society that doesn’t always make sense. Maybe, listening to the record will make you feel better about dealing with this crazy modern world we’re living in.”

CRYPTOPSY Reveals Vile New Single/Video "Flayed The Swine"

Canadian extreme-metal legends CRYPTOPSY have revealed their depraved, merciless new single, “Flayed The Swine,” today! Found on the band’s first full-length album in over a decade, “As Gomorrah Burns,” that’s out September 8th from Nuclear Blast Records, the influential death-dealers’ latest single, “Flayed The Swine,” is an accessible yet face-melting track that takes listeners down a dark and demented path to madness. In true CRYPTOPSY fashion, the track is accompanied by a horrific, blood-soaked video that will only fuel viewers’ nightmares.

Commenting on the new single, vocalist Matt McGachy says:

"‘Flayed the Swine’ is one of the catchiest Cryptopsy songs I have ever written. It is brutal, filled with massive groove sections and extremely vulgar.

Lyrically, it concentrates on a mental breakdown, an utter loss of control. We all have dark intentions, but we rarely act upon them. The protagonist by the end of the track most certainly wishes they hadn't.”

About CRYPTOPSY:

Death metal juggernaut Cryptopsy return to pummel our collective senses anew with their new album, “As Gomorrah Burns.” Their first for Nuclear Blast, the Montreal-based quartet—featuring founding member/drummer Flo Mounier, guitarist Christian Donaldson, vocalist Matt McGachy, and bassist Olivier “Oli” Pinard—advance their signature Northern power as they celebrate 30-plus years of extremity. The merciless blasts of “Lascivious Undivine” and “Flayed the Swine” offer Cryptopsy at their most intense and maniacal, while “In Abeyance” and “The Righteous Lost” groove savagely. “As Gomorrah Burns” underscores the animus of fan-favorite “None So Vile” (1996) and the meticulous technicality of “And Then You’ll Beg” (2000) with a strikingly sinister vibe.

Formed in 1992, Cryptopsy has released eight full-lengths—counting As Gomorrah Burns—to date. Out of the gate, the Quebecers set new standards in death metal with their no-compromise attack and next-level musicality. Debut album, “Blasphemy Made Flesh,” shell-shocked all that encountered it, as follow-ups “None So Vile,” “Whisper Supremacy” (1998), and “Once Was Not” (2005) positioned the Canadians as apex predators. Throughout their storied career, the group embarked on high-profile tours, such as the inaugural Death Across America tour in 1998, the Summer Slaughter Tour in 2008, and the Devastation on the Nation tour in 2017. To date, they’ve performed over 1,000 shows across 47 countries. The release of “As Gomorrah Burns” on Nuclear Blast re-positions Cryptopsy for yet another reign of death metal domination.

“As Gomorrah Burns” isn’t merely the follow-up to EPs “The Book of Suffering - Tome I” (2015) and “The Book of Suffering - Tome II” (2018). It’s another beast entirely. Crafted over two years during the pandemic, the initial sessions took place in a cabin in the forests of Quebec. McGachy calls the horror-like backdrop “surreal,” but, as with everything Cryptopsy, the songwriting process was expectedly arduous. Donaldson was the primary motivator behind “As Gomorrah Burns.” The guitarist and producer served as taskmaster and advocate, grinding out of his bandmates in McGachy, Mounier, and Pinard eight slabs of unadulterated barbarity. If Cryptopsy were formidable before As Gomorrah Burns, they’re absolutely monstrous now.

Conceptually, “As Gomorrah Burns” pits the Biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah against the modern-day Internet. McGachy’s idea was to show how it’s both the birthplace of invention and a cesspool of exploitation. The stories are based on real-life incidences—online stalkers, cults, misinformation, isolation, and intimidation—but ornamented deviously to enhance their potency. Cryptopsy commissioned Italian artist Paolo Girardi (Power Trip, Temple of Void) to complement the old-world lyrical themes. If Renaissance masters Hieronymus Bosch and El Greco were thrust into McGachy’s modern mind, the stunning cover of “As Gomorrah Burns” would be the outcome.

As with “The Unspoken King” (2008) and the self-titled (2012), Cryptopsy enlisted their bandmate Donaldson to helm the production, mixing, and mastering of As Gomorrah Burns. Dom Grimard, of Ion Dissonance fame, also came into the production fold. McGachy says the time in the studio took much longer than anticipated, but with Donaldson directing and everyone finally in the same room again post-pandemic, Cryptopsy were able to capture newfound vigor (and velocity) on As Gomorrah Burns. Tracks such as “Godless Deceiver,” “Ill Ender,” and “Praise the Filth” demonstrate Donaldson’s death metal mastery.

Aggressive to a fault yet thoughtful in its entirety, “As Gomorrah Burns”—with songs such as “In Abeyance,” “Flayed the Swine,” and “Lascivious Undivine”—pierces mundanity thoroughly and relentlessly. This is no-quarters death metal, the kind our bellicose world needed and only Cryptopsy could deliver.

“We are back,” says McGachy. “I want our fans to know we’re more than a legacy band. Yes, we have had massive cult favorite albums—like None So Vile—but we are creating modern and relevant extreme music 30 years later. We’re so proud of As Gomorrah Burns, and we can’t wait for you to hear it!”

Ashley McBryde Releases “Cool Little Bars” from Highly Anticipated THE DEVIL I KNOW

As GRAMMY award winner Ashley McBryde gears up for the release of The Devil I Know on September 8 via Warner Music Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry member revisits her roots with the release of “Cool Little Bars,” paying tribute to the dives, holes in the wall and often locals-only establishments that shaped the early days of her career. Listen to the song and pre-add/pre-save The Devil I Know HERE.

“As y’all know, I have a huge appreciation for bars that have stood the test of time and have a lot of character,” shares McBryde. “I played them for many, many years, and I’m proud of the education I gained, and I’m proud to be able to give such bars credit for my entertainment style.

“In a time when so many of our staple establishments are being torn down to make room for far less charming, sterile and predictable gathering spaces, I thought we’d better celebrate the ones we have left and the ones we’ve yet to warm a seat in. With the help of Trick Savage and Lainey Wilson, I think we said it pretty good. So, thank you for dart boards, sticky table tops, bathrooms with broken stall doors and bartenders that can mix a drink while whoopin’ an ass. We see you and we need you. God bless cool little bars.”

Written by McBryde with Savage and Wilson, today’s release highlights what makes a place special along with the desire to see them persevere and provide a space for the misplaced:

Climbing the charts in the top 25, “Light On In The Kitchen” earned placement on Rolling Stone’s all-genre “Best Songs of 2023 So Far,” praising the lead single as a “gorgeous tribute to the women who helped shape her” with “luminous guitars and McBryde’s tender delivery,” calling it “a comfortable crash pad for anyone who might take solace in its messages of support.”

The Arkansas native followed with title track “
The Devil I Know” featuring “a big Southern-rock chorus with a blast of distorted riffage,” observes Stereogum, and “Learned To Lie,” which landed on Rolling Stone’s “Best Country Songs of 2023 So Far” noting, “When it comes to original sin, the devil lies in the details, especially when you’re a crack storyteller. Ashley McBryde tracks the lineage of an inveterate liar with clinical precision…her sneakily brilliant writing will floor you by song’s end.”

Last month, McBryde released album opener “
Made for This,” a “guitar-heavy song accented by fast-paced drums,” shares American Songwriter, “as McBryde sings about a strong desire to chase one’s dreams - and the work ethic to back it up.”

McBryde will perform at the Oregon Jamboree Music Festival 2023 in Sweet Home, Oregon this evening and will be on the road throughout the spring and summer for a slew of headlining and festival shows along with tour dates with Jelly Roll and Dierks Bentley. TREVOR RABIN LAUNCHES 'BIG MISTAKES;' DEBUT SINGLE FROM 'RIO,' HIS FIRST NEW VOCAL-LED SOLO ALBUM IN OVER 30 YEARS

Trevor Rabin, the South African guitarist, singer, multi-musician, writer and producer, recently announced ‘Rio’, his first solo album of vocal material in 34 years, set for release on the 6th October 2023 worldwide. Today he is pleased to reveal the albums first single, ‘Big Mistakes’, alongside a brand new video. Watch it below.

Trevor comments: “‘Big Mistakes’ the first single on the album, is essentially about surviving my late teens/twenties, hence the lyric: ‘We played in the fire, we danced in the rain. Up all night we made Big Mistakes’. I should have called the song ‘I Can’t Believe I’m Alive.” Trevor plays all the instruments on the track, aside from the drums which were performed by Lou Molino, and backing vocals from Dante Marchi & Liz Constantine. ‘Rio’ will be available as a Ltd CD+Blu-ray Mediabook & Ltd Deluxe Gatefold Red 180g 2LP + Blu-ray (including 8-page LP-booklet and obi strip), both featuring bonus material, 5.1 surround sound & liner notes. Also available as Standard CD Jewelcase, Gatefold 180g

2LP+LP-booklet (with etching on side D), and as Digital Album. The cover for the album was created by Trevor himself: “I dabble with digital art so I sent some images of mine to the label and was pleasantly surprised when they liked them.”.

Pre-order now here:
https://trevorrabin.lnk.to/Rio

The Ltd CD+Blu-ray Mediabook & Ltd Deluxe Gatefold Red 180g 2LP + Blue-ray also features the following bonus tracks:
1. Spek & Polly
2. Fragile (Demo)
3. Georgia

Given that his previous vocal-led solo album, ‘Can’t Look Away’, was released in 1989 (2012’s ‘Jacaranda’ was all-instrumental), Rabin has kept us waiting for more than three decades for a follow-up. Trevor admits that there was pressure from all sides, including his own family, to have speeded up the process. However, the delay is excusable. Since leaving Yes following the ‘Talk’ album in 1994 and largely as a prequel to touring as part of ARW in 2016, the guitarist entered the time-consuming world of movie soundtracks. Not just any old movies, either. Trevor’s name appears as composer for such blockbusters as Con Air, Armageddon, Remember the Titans, Enemy Of The State, Deep Blue Sea, Glory Road, and Gone In 60 Seconds and both National Treasure movies, amongst many others. “Over the past ten years I was having ideas, concepts that I couldn’t implement due to my busy schedule,” he explains, adding: “To be honest, those years flew by in a flurry. I knew that this was the time, and once I found my momentum I worked on the album 24/7.” The process proved a labour of love and as with his first and second solo records, ‘Trevor Rabin’ and ‘Face To Face’ (from 1977 and ’79 respectively), Rabin handled just about all of the instruments himself.

Stylistically, ‘Rio’– is tough to categorize. Besides guitar-driven rock-meets-pop, ‘Goodbye’ is Country & Western with an edgy drive, while ‘Tumbleweed’ begins in a burst of harmonies. No wonder its working title was ‘The Demographic Nightmare’.

“I wanted to get into many different areas,” Rabin states. “Of course there are ‘prog things’, but overall there are a lot of styles going on.”

As mentioned, Trevor plays the majority of the instruments on the record. However, on drums for a number of tracks is Lou Molino, while Trevor also contributes some drums and percussion. Vinnie Calaiuta provides drums on ‘Push’, and Rabin’s son Ryan Rabin helped out with some of the most important percussive arrangements. Along the way Trevor also drafted in a couple of friends, Dante Marchi and Liz Constantine, to sing back up on two songs.

AMARANTHE - Announce New Album 'The Catalyst' At Wacken Open Air!

This afternoon, the holy ground for heavy music, the sacred space for metal heads saw the beginning of another glorious chapter for one of the brightest modern metal stars to date. Swedish six-piece AMARANTHE announced the release of their upcoming album The Catalyst live on stage after their bedazzling performance on Wacken’s main stage.

"So at last it is official! This has been a long time in the making, and more effort went into this album than any previous AMARANTHE record. You have already gotten a taste of what’s to come on “Damnation Flame”, but as the most varied and eclectic AMARANTHE album to date, expect the unexpected! We cover a lot of musical ground on 'The Catalyst', but the core of what we are about creatively is completely intact. It will be immediately obvious that you are listening to AMARANTHE, as much as it will be immediately obvious that this is both a leap forward as well as a step up. Can’t wait for all of you to hear what we have been cooking, as well as seeing us perform these pristine new songs on the road SOON!”, guitar player Olof Mörck states about this moment.

The Catalyst will see the light of day on February 23rd, 2024, via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be available digitally and in different physical formats including CD, Vinyl, and a 2CD Special Edition.

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE's storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

"We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time," Mörck grins. "In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally, the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous."

The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock, and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

AMARANTHE is:
Elize Ryd | vocals
Mikael Sehlin I growls
Olof Mörck | guitars, keyboards
Johan Andreassen | bass
Morten Løwe Sørensen | drums
Nils Molin | vocals

New Model Army Share Video for Orchestral Version Of "Innocence"

The orchestral version of "Innocence" is the first single from New Model Army's forthcoming new album Sinfonia. It's a stellar performance together with Sinfonia Leipzig of a long-loved song which has been originally released in 1990. This unique version sets the mood for what to expect from an album that enthralls from start to finish.

Watch the video below. Listen to the song here.

New Model Army are a band who continue to thrive outside of any singular genre. Throughout their long and storied career, they have taken the road less travelled, shunning fame and instead, with each successive album, pushing boundaries of creativity.

It is the same music-first approach that has led to this year’s Sinfonia. Recorded at Tempodrom, Berlin on July 15, 2022, with Sinfonia Leipzig and conducted by Cornelius During, it may seem like an obvious evolution. However, in true New Model Army style, they have broken the barriers between band and orchestra, redefining that relationship and defying expectation. All songs have been arranged for orchestra by long-time friend and guest violinist Shir-Ran Yinon, who, in collaboration with the band, created something unique but staying true to New Model Army.

The show opens with the fully orchestral "Overture," but from the initial notes of "Devil's Bargain" to the closing of "Wonderful Way To Go," it is a journey through vital and visceral music, elevating the songs with power and sensitivity and resulting in an album subverting the expectations of the well-trodden path between rock bands and orchestras. New Model Army's music lends itself perfectly to this fresh interpretation without losing its individuality. Experimentation without compromise is a hallmark of New Model Army, and one of the primary reasons they are respected and revered.

Sinfonia will become available as a Double-CD Hardcover Mediabook, Triple 180g-Vinyl Gatefold and Digital. All live album's first print CD and Vinyl LP Editions will include the full show on DVD.

A Strictly Limited earBOOK Edition with Double-CD, DVD, Blu-ray, 80- page book and an exclusive Bonus CD with eight songs from the band's "SO36" show in Berlin on July 17, 2022, as well as various bundles will become available via an exclusive direct to consumer web shop.

#1 HIT SONGWRITER JOHN MORGAN IS HAVING A “COLD SUMMER IN SAN ANTONE”

Multi #1 hit songwriter John Morgan is having a “Cold Summer in San Antone” with release of his latest wrecking-ball track, available everywhere today. Written by John with Ben Hayslip and producer Will Bundy, the brooding new song depicts the isolation and coldness a broken heart can inflict, even during the most brutally hot season in Texas. Listen HERE.

Returning to his “Sad Boy Country” roots – a pivot from his recent anthemic releases of “Man of Few Words,” “Sorry Not Sorry” that Country Now praised as a “back-road anthem,” and the party starter “Friends Like That” that has earned over 8.5M on-demand streams and is racking in over 832k per week – “Morgan is standing apart from the rest of the Country crowd as he brings a more traditional Country flair to the Pop-Country sounds of today’s genre” (Songwriter Universe).

Having just made his Grand Ole Opry debut, John will return on August 18 for the “Opry Plaza Summer Concert Series Powered by Whiskey Jam.” Watch HERE for a special, behind-the-scenes look into his Opry debut.

Up next – John will head out on the road with Riley Green, ERNEST and Jameson Rodgers, hit renowned music festivals such as Headwaters Country Jam, Utah’s Country Fan Fest, WE Fest, Voices of America Country Music Festival and Tidalwave Music Festival, and release even more new music later this year.

About John Morgan:

With a style that’s defined by melodic grit and a craftsman’s approach to songwriting, John Morgan brings a blue-collar toughness to Country that’s pulled straight from the only life he knows. Hailing from a tiny town called Sylva, deep in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, John grew up immersed in Bluegrass tradition and even toured the festival circuit each summer in a family band, before diving into songwriting, inspired by six-string legends from Tony Rice to John Mayer. More than a year after selling everything he had to follow his dream, an only-in-Nashville story involving Uber drivers and impressive demos led to a writing session with Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy—two incredible songwriters and longtime bandmates of Country superstar Jason Aldean. That session led to the superstar cutting eight songs written by John, including his recent No. 1 “Trouble With A Heartbreak” and the GRAMMY® nominated ACM Single of the Year No. 1 smash hit with Carrie Underwood, “If I Didn’t Love You,” and Aldean signing John to Night Train Records, his imprint with BBR Music Group. The sought-after songwriter has released a slew of “Sad Boy Country” songs including his latest “Cold Summer in San Antone,” “Coldest Beer in Town,” “Right In The Middle,” and “Good With Goodbye.” Having just wrapped Aldean’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour and made his Grand Ole Opry debut, John pivots from heartbreak to party starter territory, dropping the anthemic “Friends Like That,” unapologetic “Sorry Not Sorry” and the confident “Man of Few Words,” with more new music coming soon.

THE 3 CLUBMEN (Jen Olive, Stu Rowe and XTC's Andy Partridge) offer inspiring single 'Look At Those Stars' from debut EP

"Dazzling pop, seriously good fun, and when you get musicians as outstanding as this they can make the complex layers of voices and instruments seem as simple as a bird taking flight" ~ Joyzine UK

"A warped, meter-shifting, proudly eccentric pop extravaganza" ~
The New York Times

"Equally gorgeous and inspiring, this heavenly slice of art-pop sees Jen Olive transform depression into a feeling that propels to flight into surreal feel-good territory" ~
The Spill Magazine

"Modern pop, retro glam and many sonic explorations. Not far from XTC’s aesthetics, Andy Partridge and friends continues to stun with their vibrant harmonics" ~
London Cafe

"Pure uniqueness and in no time an addiction of individuality and enlivening adventure" ~
Ringmaster Review

The 3 Clubmen - a trio made up of XTC's Andy Partridge, Jen Olive and Stu Rowe - presents 'Look At Those Stars', the latest single from their debut eponymous EP., released via Swindon's own Lighterthief label with distribution via Britain's Burning Shed.

Heralded by the debut single
'Aviatrix', this EP recalls XTC’s later pastoral period, a touch of Jen Olive’s math-pop angularity and the eclectic sound that runs through Stu Rowe’s Lighterthief back catalog. This is an avant-pop delight offering a strange, seductive blend of experimental pop, jazz and sci-fi cinema excellence.

With balanced vocals offerings, compelling delivery, infectious energy and clever lyrics is an uplifting affair. Here, Jen Olive meets in the sonic stratosphere with Andy Partridge and a fun, catchy and layered bed of magnificence created by Stu Rowe. The fantastic accompanying video was animated by Jen Olive herself.

Jen Olive explains, “With this video, I wanted to create something more like a film… an impressionistic docu-dramedy that tells our story and is fun to watch. I was actually on the brink of a serious breakdown when this song was being made. It was such a dark time. I had moved to the middle of nowhere in the desert and was just isolating, trying to ground myself. It’s born from that. It’s a simple little song but that’s what it is for me.”

The use of AI technology to create the ‘Look at Those Stars’ video breaks open the song’s mix of somber reflection and bursting euphoria to tell a dreamy, ever-shifting story filled with playful references and psychedelic symbolism.

The 3 Clubmen is the culmination of a decade of antics from these longtime collaborators (all part of the Lighterthief label family tree) - with the writing and recording of this material starting years ago. While each artist has worked with the others in some form since 2008, This is the first time that Stu, Andy and Jen have combined forces as a trio, an inevitable partnership once described as “a three-headed Frankenstein's monster dancing at a neurodivergent singles club”.

"To me, this EP is a bizarre 70s sitcom for the ears, which lies on the borders between random and structured, weird and straight, and old and new. It’s somehow come up from the strange dream-like world that exists between all three of us," says Stu Rowe.

Andy Partridge adds, "The 3 Clubmen are doing everything wrong...and it's just right."

The Clubmen saga begins in 2006, when Andy and Stu first worked on
'Monstrance'. Riding on a mutual fascination with experimental music production,  a bi-weekly ritual soon emerged, starting at Stu’s Lighterthief Bunker and ending at the local pub, which resulted in sonic explorations and improvised recordings. A series of musical sketches gradually formed, setting the stage for Jen’s later involvement.

With interest reignited during the pandemic after being put on hold and largely forgotten, the trio decided to finish what they’d started all those years ago, resulting in their debut 4-track effort.

Signing to Andy’s label
APE HOUSE Records in 2008 (after recording her 'Warm Robot' album), Jen contributed lyrics and vocals on 'Up On Hi' and 'My Dream Sea', penned by Rowe and Partridge for Lighterthief's 'Trick Picture' and 'Hard Listening' EPs (released on APE HOUSE).

In 2010, the threesome were finally able to work together in person. The chemistry was instant, the room was buzzing and the ideas flowed. Over pints at The Roaring Donkey pub, they dubbed their project “The 3 Clubmen” after the local defence volunteer groups formed during the English Civil War. Clubmen protected themselves from both armies by fighting on their own side - the name seemed to fit.

'The 3 Clubmen' EP is out now, available on CD via
Burning Shed. and digitally from fine music platforms, including Apple MusicSpotify and Amazon Music.

Kill The Lights Share "Hear You Scream" Video

Kill The Lights, which features former members of Bullet for My Valentine, Throw the Fight, Threat Signal, and Still Remains, released their debut album The Sinner, in 2020 via Fearless Records.

Earlier this summer, they dropped the new single "
Broken Bones." Watch the video here

Today, they are hurling another banger at metal fans in the form of "
Hear You Scream." Watch the video below.

The track is a flawless marriage of classic, shreddy, and finger-slicing metal riffs, galloping solos, modern, layered, and soaring vocal harmonies. It also factors in screams that sound as though they have ascended the bowls of hell and two utterly seismic breakdowns. The band keeps one foot in the past, honoring the genre's rich tradition, all the while marching forward to keep the genre as vital as ever.

"'Hear You Scream' is about being trapped in a toxic relationship and not knowing how to escape," says singer James Clark. "You convince yourself over and over that things will get better, but all along, you are being used. When the mask of 'fake love' is peeled back, the web of lies and deceit are unveiled. You slowly and strategically bide your time and exact your revenge."

Mike Mains + The Branches Share "If We Run" — LISTEN

MIKE MAINS & THE BRANCHES recently announced the new album Memory Unfixed, out September 15 via Tooth & Nail. Pre-order it here.

"Memory Unfixed is a collection of musical snapshots from 2019-2021," Mains says. "The world went through a metamorphosis at that time and I fell down into the basement of unfixed memories. Some painful, some colorful, I'm glad to report there was magic down there. I am excited to share."

Today, fans can listen to the new single "If We Run." Listen
here

"I wrote this song with an incredible writer, producer Geoff Duncan," Mains says. "It is a song written from the mindset of my teenage years when all I wanted to do was fall in love, get in the car and get the hell out of dodge."

Mike Mains & The Branches have always bottled complex emotions and relatable stories within hummable homegrown anthems. They have organically progressed over the course of Home [2012], Calm Down, Everything Is Fine [2014], and When We Were In Love [2019]. Billboard hailed the "buoyant pop" of the latter, while Atwood Magazine praised its "upbeat, energetic, feel-good pop-rock." Among many standouts, “Briggs” generated north of 4.8 million Spotify streams as "Breathing Underwater" and "Live Forever" each surpassed the 1 million-mark. After trading his native Michigan for Nashville, Mike underwent another era of transformation. Stuck at home mid-Pandemic, he retreated inward and began to understand his past and, ultimately, himself a bit more.

"Once COVID hit, I finally had the opportunity to allow some things to start boiling over," he elaborates. "I got serious about therapy, my mental health, and my well-being. I acknowledged wounds that had been on the backburner for my entire life. I've been on my own since I was 16, and I come from a family of physical and mental abuse. By living alone and crashing on couches over the years, I've cobbled together a wonderful surrogate family. Growing up, my dad was like, 'You'll never make it’.' Part of me was pleased to find success, move to Nashville, buy a home, and support myself and my wife off rock 'n' roll. Nevertheless, all of this pain came up. So, these songs are little vignettes and snapshots of not only the relationship between my wife and I but what was happening in the world with George Floyd and America's heartbreaking response."
