ABOUT VRSTY:
VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") make music as energetic and richly diverse as the city that spawned them. Assembled by band leader Joey Tyler, a Puerto Rican singer from New York City raised on R&B, pop, and Spanish music and equally inspired by metallic post-hardcore, VRSTY blends genres with fearless ambition and visceral enthusiasm. A handful of EPs preceded 2020's debut album, Welcome Home, itself followed by a three-part series of sequel EPs solidifying the band's reputation.

The band (comprised of guitarist Paul Gregory, bassist Javier Dorrejo, drummer Chris Cody, and Tyler) specializes in what Kerrang! described as "endless grooves and danceable parts, punctuated by breakdowns and completed with dark atmosphere." Meanwhile, "Massive,”"from 2020's Cloud City EP, remained the Most Played on SiriusXM's Octane for two consecutive weeks. In a 9/10 review, Outburn described Welcome Home as "effortless, fun, and above all genuine." Blabbermouth raved: "While other bands may have introduced the concept of genre-bending, VRSTY have refined it."

Genuine authenticity and uncompromising passion are crucial to everything about VRSTY. Levitate, the band's stunning sophomore set, is powered by spirited conviction and a commitment to follow their muse wherever it leads. It's an album of rich melodic hooks and headbang-inducing grooves.

Tyler co-produced Levitate with Justin Deblieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White, Lorna Shore, Fit For A King). George Lever (Sleep Token, Holding Absence, Loathe) handled mixing duties.

VRSTY commands the crowd anytime they perform, connecting with anyone who struggles with feelings of low self-worth, bad relationships, or generally feels like an outsider. It’s a feeling of shared community evident on the band's tours with the likes of 10 Years, Nonpoint, Secrets, and For The Fallen Dreams, among others. Ultimately, VRSTY aims to encourage, provoke, and inspire listeners.

VRSTY Share "The Plug" — LISTEN

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — are serving up a brand new track with "The Plug."

It's a confident track, powered by Varela's vocals, synths, and powerhouse riffs. It doesn't adhere to any genre specifications or parameters — and that's what makes VRSTY stand out from the pack.

"'The Plug' was only the song that came to me naturally, because I was literally living it as I was writing it," Varela shares, pulling back the curtain on the song's in-real-time and incredibly personal nature. "It's about convincing yourself that you're in love with the good in a person when in actuality, you're addicted to the hell they bring into your life. They essentially become the dealer of all your problems and you can't help but buy what they're selling."

The band is currently on tour with Secrets, For the Fallen Dreams, Outline in Color, and Nerv. All dates are below.

VRSTY ON TOUR:
WITH SECRETS, FOR THE FALLEN DREAMS, OUTLINE IN COLOR, + NERV:

7/1 — Thompson, CT — Capulet Fest

ABOUT VRSTY:
Welcome Home is the band's debut full length for the label and follows last year's breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles "
Shameless" and "Massive." The latter was the most played on SiriusXM's Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020. VRSTY have perfected their seamless and fearless cross-pollination of metallic grooves and R&B-influenced, after midnight vocal swagger on this 14-track offering. VRSTY aren't just offering their own take on a genre; they have authored a fusion style that is entirely their own. "Welcome Home is an incredibly personal album to me," Varela shares. "I know everybody says that, and hey, maybe they're not lying when they do. I sure as hell am not. It was definitely a task, at first, trying to figure out how to phrase or sing something without getting too personal. But somewhere along the way, I threw that idea out the window and decided to say exactly what I felt. You won't find me trying to sound cool or using any fancy wordplay. It's just me in my rawest form, saying exactly what I've felt or experienced over the years, which is what has made me who I am today. I think if anybody ever wants to get to know me, this record will give you everything you need to know. No secrets. Just me." The band has also tallied an impressive 25 million streams in the U.S.

VRSTY Share "Hush" Video — WATCH

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have shared the video for "Hush." Watch it below.

The song lives on VRSTY's new album Welcome Home, out now via Spinefarm.

"'Hush' is definitely one of my favorite songs on the entire record," says Varela. "It's also one of the most different songs simply because it's more uplifting and fun rather than dark and moody —my usual mood! Writing this song was incredibly therapeutic for me yet also super scary. Because it was so different, I wasn't sure if anybody was gonna like it. However when Welcome Home dropped, it ended up becoming a fan-favorite. I just hope it makes people feel the way it made me feel when I first wrote it."

SONG APPEARS ON NEW ALBUM WELCOME HOME, OUT JANUARY 21 VIA SPINEFARM

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have shared the new song "Closer." Listen below.

"Closer" is another banger from the band, with thunderous riffs led by Varela's smooth, R&B-inspired vocal styles and unshakeable melodies. The song explores the notion of wanting to get to know that person you meet and can't get out of your head.

"'Closer' literally came out of nowhere," Varela recalls. "It started as just a fun idea to get our creative juices flowing in the studio and ended up becoming its own thing. It's definitely one of the more different songs on the record. Lyrics-wise, it's also one of the easiest songs to connect to — if you're an adult, that is!"

VRSTY Drop New Song "Soul" — LISTEN // Release Date Moves to 2022

SONG APPEARS ON NEW ALBUM WELCOME HOME NOW OUT JANUARY 21 VIA SPINEFARM

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have shared the new song "Soul." And it's another banger that blends different styles and hopscotches across genres and results in a completely fresh style all its own. The song track, well, plenty of "Soul."

Listen to the song, which is built on galloping, western-style nuances, and urgent percussion, topped off by Varela's smooth vocals, below.

"I love this song so much," comments Varela. "It's funny because this song was written way before the idea of a record was a thing and even before Spinefarm came along. This song came from a dream I had where I sold my soul to the devil and I heard the song playing in my head as I was dreaming."

He continues, "I woke up and wrote it, and it ended up becoming my favorite thing ever. It was also the first song I shared when I started putting together the record and it was the one everybody instantly fell in love with. In a weird way it's like this song is its own person and it sucks everyone in."

The song will appear on VRSTY's new album Welcome Home, out January 21 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here. Please note the release date has changed.

Relevance. It is one of the most innate human desires; to know that we are not alone and that others go through the same struggles. This is why the Texas-based band, Kingdom Collapse, is carving out their spot in the rock world. They seek to give a voice to people who share similar troubles and crave relevancy in an apathetic world.

The world responded to a relevant theme of betrayal when their first single, “Suffer,” amassed over 7,000,000 YouTube views and 1,100,000 Spotify streams organically. The group’s 2020 hit radio single, “Uprise,” broke into the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40 as well as the Mediabase Active Rock charts for 9 weeks straight. “Uprise” went on to become Sirius XM Octane’s #1 Most Played song for two consecutive weeks and has since accumulated over 2,000,000 Spotify streams, tipping the band’s total stream count over 6.5 million.

The group features Jonathan Norris on vocals, David Work on guitar, Aaron Smith on bass and Elijah Santucci on drums. Together, with a mutual vision, they are bringing their shared experiences to the masses and looking to help as many people as they can with a feeling of solidarity.

The band’s 2021 follow-up radio single, “Unbreakable,” is an anthem that is emotionally honest and relevant to today's times. Written and produced by lead singer, Jonathan Norris and mixed/mastered by Chris Mora of War Horse Recordings, it sends a positive message to listeners by teaching that even life’s hardest moments can be a benefit. Norris writes, “‘Unbreakable’ comes from a lyrical standpoint of looking back at various struggles that life has thrown at you and coming to realize that those struggles ultimately made you stronger. We’ve all been there, and it’s about finding the silver lining in the midst of dark times.”

Kingdom Collapse has been playing stages across the US and has already shared the stage with the likes of 10 YearsFrom Ashes To NewColdRedSaliva, Nonpoint and many other hard rock heavy-hitters. In May of 2021 the band signed with one of the leading booking agencies in the industry, Dynamic Talent International, and will be announcing more tour dates soon.

VRSTY Share Lyric Video For "Finesse" Feat. Notions — WATCH + LISTEN

SONG APPEARS ON NEW ALBUM WELCOME HOME OUT NOVEMBER 19 VIA SPINEFARM

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — will drop their new album Welcome Home on November 19 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the lyric video for the new single "Finesse" (Feat. Notions). Watch and listen to the confident and rowdy track below.

'Finesse' was a fun process," Varela recalls about the genesis and back story of the track. "I think I wrote this song about two years ago and re-wrote it about three more times before scrapping it. Something always brought me back to it, though, and it was worth it, since it ended up making the record."

He opens up about the track's deeper meaning, saying, "The song itself is about finding all of my heartaches and faults to be a blessing in disguise. Sure, everything hurts at the time, but it has all made me stronger. It has also made me a little crazier. Crazy is good, though."

Varela, an admitted fan of Notions, connected with the artist online and that'show this collaboration was born. "Over the years, I watched him develop into this incredible artist and I always told myself, 'The day I get to do a full length, he ABSOLUTELY needs to be on it' And here we are. I clearly couldn't have chosen a better artist to feature on this song." Notions adds another layer of straight up vibe to this hard-hitting, album-opening song.

Welcome Home is the band's debut full length for the label and follows last year's breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles "Shameless" and "Massive." The latter was the most played on SiriusXM's Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020.

No secrets. Just me."

VRSTY have also booked several shows. All dates are below.

SPINEFARM PRESS RELEASE: VRSTY Announce "Welcome Home" Out This November

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have announced that their new album Welcome Home will arrive on November 19 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

"I must be cursed to repeat cycles because 'Sick,' much like 'Shameless' from our EP, was the very last song written for the release," says Varela. "This song actually didn't exist until a few months after the record was pretty much done. It was also an incredibly different process writing this one. Instead of my usual approach of working with [producer] Andrew [Baylis], I also got to work with Kile Odell and Zach Williams before bringing Andrew into the mix. It's also one of the few songs that I've ever written where I'm just having fun singing about whatever random story pops into my head. Sometimes, music should just be fun. That's what I went for with this — and I'm glad I did."

Welcome Home is the band's debut full length for the label and follows last year's breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles "Shameless" and "Massive." CLOUD CITY EP OUT NOW

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — released the Cloud City EP via Spinefarm Records on December 4.

The band has just dropped the video for the new track "Massive." Watch it HERE.

"The 'Massive' music video is perfect for what the song is actually trying to say," says Varela. "It's us in a dark room, performing, loving what we do, and having fun as it's always been. Just us."

Varela previously shared the song's inspiration, saying, "'Massive' is literally all of my frustrations coming to the surface. It's years of doing favors and helping other's elevate their careers — only to be told I'm just a copy of 'insert whatever vocalist here' or to be called a background player. Not this time. I remember writing 'Massive,' and the only thought in my head was, 'They don’t take you seriously — but they'll wish they did.'"

The song is currently the most played track at SiriusXM's Octane for the second week in a row.

VRSTY's music unexpectedly blends metallic grooves and R&B vocal swagger. The band has been grinding in the scene for over five years now, releasing the Lights EP in 2015 and heading on tour to earn their road stripes. They dropped Blck and Blck Deluxe in 2019, with "YOU & I" (over 412k Spotify streams), "Colorblind" (over 310k Spotify streams), and "Nola" (over 278k Spotify streams) quickly establishing themselves as indie fan favorites. The band has tallied over 2 million total streams and looks to open things up even more with the Cloud City EP, which serves as its Spinefarm Records debut.

CLOUD CITY EP OUT DECEMBER 4

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — will release the Cloud City EP via Spinefarm Records on December 4. The band has just dropped the new track "Massive." Listen HERE.

The song is currently in SiriusXM Octane's Test Drive program.

"'Massive' is literally all of my frustrations coming to the surface," Varela says of the song's powerful source of inspiration. "It's years of doing favors and helping other's elevate their careers — only to be told I'm just a copy of 'insert whatever vocalist here' or to be called a background player. Not this time. I remember writing 'Massive,' and the only thought in my head was, 'They don’t take you seriously — but they'll wish they did.'"

NEW EP CLOUD CITY OUT DECEMBER 4

SPINEFARM RECORDS is pleased to introduce its brand new signing, the New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity"). The quartet — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — will release the Cloud City EP on December 4. To celebrate the news, the band has shared the video for the new song "Shameless."

Watch and listen here.

"'Shameless' was the last song I wrote for the EP and the first song I fell in love with," says singer Varela. "'Shameless' is a song about giving into your temptations even though you know it's probably not the best choice. I think we all go through a time in our lives where we become fed up with doing things that (we believe) go unnoticed and would rather be the bad guy for a while. 'Shameless' is a 'back on my bullshit' anthem for me, and I hope it becomes that for everybody."

Regarding the band's signing with Spinefarm, he says, "It's absolutely wild. They were the label that I didn't know a lot about, but always secretly thought was killing it for their bands. Never did I think they would be interested in a tiny band like ours but I guess that's how the machine works, right? When you least expect it, it comes for you. Either way, this entire process has been amazing so far and I truly believe that with Spinefarm behind us, we're gonna do some damage."

VRSTY's music is unique and unexpected blend of metallic grooves and R&B vocal swagger. The band has been grinding in the scene for over five years now. VRSTY released the Lights EP in 2015, went on tour, and earned their road stripes.
