BLACKBRIAR - Release New Song 'My Soul's Demise'

Having refined their broody, mesmerizing vision of gothic/symphonic metal to cinematic levels, with three EPs and a full-length album behind them, BLACKBRIAR continue to set their sails towards the future. The Netherlands based band are currently working towards their second full-length album, accompanied by long-time collaborator, Joost van den Broek. Today, the band have released a brand-new song titled 'My Soul´s Demise'.

Singer, Zora Cock about the new song:

"My Soul's Demise is a song about love and pain, where you're willing to do anything for the one you love, no matter what, even if that means that it will destroy you in the meantime. Yet sometimes you wonder, would that person do the same for you? It's inspired by the medieval practice of sin-eating, a ritual where mourning families hired a sin eater to consume their loved ones' sins. The sin eater would eat food left on the dead person's chest. The food was believed to have absorbed the deceased's lingering sins. Sin eaters were paid next to nothing for their service, they were reviled, and seen as filthy people, full of sins. Villagers even avoided looking them in the eye. I learned about the sin-eater when watching an episode of Outlander, where a sin-eating ritual got introduced.

"Now it gets a bit more personal. While reading about the sin-eating ritual, and writing the lyrics, it reminded me of a story my dad once told me. A long time ago, my dad suffered from psychosis and was admitted to a psychiatric clinic. He told me a lot about his experiences, what it was like, and how his mind worked at that moment. He thought he was the devil incarnate, possessed by something dark, and he felt like everyone felt his evil presence as he walked by, everyone would flinch away from him. This made me write the bridge of the song “No one can even look me in the eye, everybody is flinching away from me as I pass by”. Somehow the story of a medieval sin-eater reminded me exactly of the way my dad explained how he felt, as if he had consumed the world’s sins and darkness.

"I read about the last known sin eater of England as well, which was a very heartfelt story. His name was Richard Munslow, and he died in 1906. It is believed that the tragic loss of four of his children at very early ages that died within one week may be the reason he resurrected the macabre ritual. This made me write the song from the perspective of willing to do anything for the ones you love.

"The songwriting process of My Soul’s Demise went pretty fast. After writing the lyrics, I recorded some of my vocal ideas a cappella. This is how we mostly start writing a new song. I then sent it to René, with a note saying that it sucks and that he could probably throw it in the bin right away. Haha! Luckily he didn’t throw it away, and he actually liked what he heard, and made the basics for the song that same night. We brought the draft version of the song to our producer Joost van den Broek, and worked on it some more. Another instrumental part was added, so I needed to come up with some more vocals for that extra part. This was the more ‘quiet’ bridge part where I am doing some weird stuff. I wanted to do something with my voice as if I just consumed so many sins that I couldn’t handle it anymore, as if it had taken over my body, sort of possessed, and got inspired by Anna von Hausswolff.

"We shot the music video at a medieval 12th-century church in the north of the Netherlands, and it took us two days to shoot it all. I always get fascinated by the atmosphere of standing in such an old building, shooting this video there felt perfect and so fitting. We were very lucky to be able to get all the freedom and time to be creative.

"Another thing that was perfect, is that the whole band portrayed a role in this story, even our ex-bass player Frank. Frank played the corpse, and it felt like we held a funeral for his bass-playing years for Blackbriar, celebrating the awesome time we spent together. A symbolic farewell. For this video, we needed some extra actors to witness the ritual. We opened up a casting call to my Patrons, so the people you see sitting in the benches are all Patrons. But not only Patrons, you can also see my parents! For me, the video story itself was more challenging than other videos we did so far. I can say that I gave it my all, and I hope that you feel something when watching it. It’s one of the more personal songs of the album."

About BLACKBRIAR:
Formed in 2012 by Zora Cock, René Boxem, Bart Winters, and Frank AkkermanBlackbriar crafted their first single in 2014 with 'Ready to Kill,' but it was 2015’s second single 'Until Eternity' that truly propelled them into the scene. A sweeping track with an equally compelling and beautiful video, it continues to draw many to the band with over 18.1 million views since its debut. Taking advantage of the growing buzz surrounding them, they independently recorded and released their first EP, Fractured Fairytales, as well as acquiring a second guitarist in Robin Koezen. This EP laid down an impressive foundation for the band’s ethereal, breath-taking sound, and brought about new opportunities, including tour dates in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and more, where they played alongside EPICA, HALESTORM, IN THIS MOMENT, DELAIN and MAYAN. To keep moving ahead with full control of their creative ideals, the band successfully crowdfunded their follow-up EP, We’d Rather Burn, and brought it to life in October 2018. This EP would be the first time the band worked alongside esteemed producer Joost van den Broek, and this fruitful collaboration allowed BLACKBRIAR’s whimsical and enigmatic sound to reach new sonic heights. Released the same day as their self-made video for 'I’d Rather Burn,' the EP showcased a stronger sense of dreamy atmosphere and brought listeners beautifully grim tales of witches, banshees, and sea sirens. Keyboardist Ruben Wijga (ex-Re-Vamp) began to take on a larger role and began playing shows, having been involved in the songwriting process since Fractured Fairytales.

A busy 2019 followed, the band released the haunting single 'Snow White and Rose Red' in May. A duet with Ulli Perhonen, their take on the Grimm’s fairy tales featured striking cinematic visuals to accompany the spellbinding track. Continuing to dig deeper into fairy tale realms, BLACKBRIAR closed the year with their third EP, Our Mortal Remains. Ever sharpening their intoxicating blend of storytelling and breath-taking musicianship, the EP brought about new live opportunities as well. Small, sold-out tours with EPICA in 2019 and 2020, as well as a sold-out opening performance for Delain’s Apocalypse & Chill release show in Utrecht followed, with future plans then put on hold due to COVID-19. Championing their continued independence, which included everything from songwriting, maintaining their web presence, overseeing merch, as well as shooting and producing their own videos and photos, BLACKBRIAR reached out to their ever-growing and loyal fanbase for assistance to make their full-length debut album a reality in 2020.

Fans fervently heeded the call, reaching the € 25,000 goal in under 24 hours, ending with a total of € 70,000. It was an impressive accomplishment for an independent act, which shows their strong internet presence, with over 214,000 YouTube subscribers and 46.1 million channel views, as well as 27.6 million Spotify streams and 150,000 monthly listeners. Entering 2021, the band relinquished a bit of control in signing with Doomstar Bookings to help properly support their first full-length album, The Cause of Shipwreck, which was released in April. It was recorded with renowned producer Joost van den Broek (EpicaAyreonPowerwolf) at Sandlane Recording Facilities, and this release showcased the band’s continued evolution into masterfully dark gothic storytelling and theatrical aesthetics. On the live front, the band launched into success with six sold-out Dutch club shows, later extending into more European territories such as Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, France, and the Czech Republic.

Despite a very successful 2021, the band still hungered for more, unleashing their latest single, 'Fairy of the Bog' in December. The track is a mixture of folklore, myth, and ancient local history in a more mystical and magical package, showcasing what BLACKBRIAR does best. In April, the band parted ways with founding member and bassist Frank Akkerman, welcoming Siebe Sol Sijpkens from The Netherlands as their new bassist. A happy and energetic performer with a lifetime of global performances, he is a welcome addition to the act as they continue to strive forward. With their vision looking firmly into the future, with a major label behind them, they’ve set their sights on 2023 to conjure their most deadly siren song yet. With accolades behind them, such as being nominated three times for ‘Best Artist’ in EuroSonic/Noorderslag‘s Popgala Noord Awards (2018, 2020, 2022), and continued fan support with current monthly streaming totals on YouTube and Spotify nearing 1 million streams, the world is primed and ready for a spectacular journey ahead. BLACKBRIAR continues to soar, ready to lure you into the sea to be swept away by addictive hooks, cinematic soundscapes, and darkly whimsical storytelling.

Society 1 Members Begin Filming Shock Rock Movie

Award winning director MATT "THE LORD" ZANE and co-director DAGON DESTROYER have begun working on a new film exploring the shock rock genre. This will be Zane's follow up to 2022's documentary "TheAltered Noise" which was about his former bandmate DV KARLOFF.

In the new film, DAGON and ZANE will be interviewing various artists as
well discussing their own contributions to the genre that they became
heavily involved with when ZANE began body suspension during the bands
performances in 2002.

In addition to interviews, ZANE's band SOCIETY 1 featuring DAGON on
drums will be followed by a camera crew when they hit the road for
next year's "Rise Of The Machine" tour with STATIC-X, FEAR FACTORY and DOPE.

"This isn't just going to be some rehash of a shock rock documentary.
Yes we'll have the interviews but it's also a story about my personal
experience with body suspension and if shock rock will be accepted in
this political climate during the next tour." said ZANE.

The movie will jump between the present and newly acquired footage of
the band during their most controversial times between the years 2002
and 2006.

"I'm making this film with Lord Zane who is arguably the most extreme
shock rocker of our generation. He suspended, over my drumset by
meathooks when I was only 18-years-old and my life was turned upside
down being subjected to such debaucherous and dangerous behavior while
we were on tour. Two decades later, we've rejoined forces to make a
film that sets out to tell the story of our lower nature and to give
people an insider look at the length performances artists are willing
to go to be remembered.
" said DAGON.

For more info go to ShockRockMovie.com

"I was 19 years old when we filmed our Nothing music video for the
album Exit Through Fear with Zane suspending over my drumset. The
tours afterward were insane. Everything about Society 1 was insane,
especially for a kid. It's surreal that we're joining forces again
after 20 years and that we're out with Fear Factory and Static-X. It's
a dream for me. These two bands are a huge part of my life." said
Dagon

A SHORELINE DREAM releases 'Loveblind' LP, a gazey-postpunk blurring of past and future

"Delicate curves and beauty... a glorious dawn" PopMatters

"Goth heaven... one of the leading lights of the neo-shoegaze movement" DKFM

"A sonorous journey – a inward looking, lush and wonderfully orchestrated sonic adventure with dark intensity" ~ Spill Magazine

"A wild and beautiful thing" The Big Takeover

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess.. reminiscent" Stereo Embers Magazine

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream have released their 'Loveblind' album via Latenight Weeknight Records. Their sixth full-length record, here theydives into recollections and past desires while looking forward in a wash of soundwaves pointing towards a blinding future.

Their first release since the Covid pandemic began, offering 40 minutes of goth-laced progressive soundscapes. The new collection was previewed by two solid tasters - lead track 'Alarms Stop Ringing' and the title track 'Loveblind'. Produced by Ryan Policky and recorded over 10 months in the Barnum suburb of Denver, Colorado, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals.

"This 'Loveblind' album is an introspective view of things building all the way up, then crashing back down - like relationships that try to rekindle, only to find that the original reason for the failure has grown even stronger. The songs and driving energy behind each represents rare moments of true passion and also those of complete devastation. Even in perceived time of feeling, things couldn’t get any better, a finality lies waiting behind the next corner," says Ryan Policky.

In 2020, A Shoreline Dream released their 'Melting' album (2020), the latest in a series of critically acclaimed releases. Formed in 2005, today ASD revolves around two original members - multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries. Their legacy is further rounded out thanks to collaborations with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers (for whom they created a remix for progressive label gods K-Scope). Also of note is the fact that the band also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

The pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being and the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times and moments of pure, unscathed lust, we long for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works, drawing from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

As of September 23, the 'Loveblind' LP is available everywhere online, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The band will also soon release their seminal 'Recollections of Memory' LP (featuring Ulrich Schnauss) on vinyl - it can be pre-ordered now.

“We knew that Blake values comfortable and ready-to-wear clothing – all elements that stand at the core of our design process at Lands’ End,” said Jerome Griffith, chief executive officer at Lands’ End. “As we eyed our next collaboration partner, Blake was a natural fit for not only our brand, but our shopper. It's really fashion for folks who want to look good and feel comfortable, no matter where they are or what they're doing. My collection with Lands’ End is about making clothes you’ll know are keepers the second you put them on. When you know, you know.”

From September 1, 2022 through September 1, 2023, Lands’ End will donate a portion of each purchase from the Blake Shelton x Lands’ End collection to Habitat for Humanity, a global housing organization that partners with people in communities in the U.S. and around the world to build or improve a place they can call home.

Kenny Chesney Opens Up Singles For Near SRO Tampa Opener

For Kenny Chesney, taking his music on the road is his way of making the promise of his songs come to life. It is how No Shoes Nation was built, and it’s the way friendships have been forged summer after summer since kicking off his true headlining life at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach in 2002.

Having been put on sale 932 days from when he will finally raise the pirate flag at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, Kenny Chesney’s Here And Now 2022 Tour will finally hit the road! With reigning Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year Carly Pearce on all dates, plus five-time Academy of Country Music and four-time Country Music Association Group of the Year Old Dominion and three-time GRAMMY-winning Vocal Duo/Group Dan + Shay on the stadium dates, it promises to be quite a summer.

“I can’t believe how long it’s been,” Chesney muses. “I close my eyes, and I can hear the roar of No Shoes Nation, but to not feel that energy in my veins. It’s been so long, I can’t wait to get back out there to see the faces, to hear the voices singing these songs – and to share the love that’s like no other.”

Three years since playing many of his favorite places for three years, the man The Los Angeles Times deemed “The People’s Superstar” wants to make sure everyone who wants to come can be a part of what so many have been waiting for. With surprisingly limited ticket returns, a hard ticket count of well over 50,000 – excluding suites – finding seats and opening up slices of the stadiums has been a challenge Chesney’s been at work on.

“I’ve asked my friends at Messina Touring to find more seats more than a couple times,” says Chesney of his shows. “We are a month out from kicking off, and I don’t want anyone who’s missed this music as much as I’ve missed them to not be able to be there. So, once again we’re less than a thousand open tickets...and a lot of them are singles, maybe a few pairs...

“But I want to throw this out there: No Shoes Nation is one of the friendliest places in the world. I can hear the tail-gating from the bus, the music and the laughter. I kinda wanna call it Club Singles, for the people who’re willing to just buy a ticket, come sit where they sit – even if they’re not with their friends – and make some more friends along the way.”

With twenty-two stadium plays, the Here And Now 2022 Tour will run straight through the summer – including stops at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High, Detroit’s Ford Field, Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field – before closing out with a two-night-stand at Boston’s Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on August 26-27.

For Chesney, the only country artist in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 25 Live Artists in 25 Years, whose “Everyone She Knows” celebrates free-spirited women blazing their own path, it’s all about celebrating the triumphs, the friendships, the new things and the songs everyone loves by heart.

“We have some surprises,” Chesney says. “We have some songs people really love. But mostly, we have all this music, all these nights, all the energy of No Shoes Nation coming together. Tampa, I can’t wait to see all of you April 23 at Raymond James Stadium.”

Starbenders Release New Single + Music Video "Seven White Horses" via Sumerian Records

Atlanta-based glam punk rockers Starbenders have today dropped a new single and music video, "Seven White Horses" (via Sumerian Records). Speaking on today's release, Kimi Shelter shares:

"The road has a way of putting you in the zone and realizations come to visit. The words of Seven White Horses rushed in during one of these road-inspired epiphanies. The song’s about rebirth, where you have to leave things behind, killing off your weaker self to rise."

This week also marks the one year anniversary of "Love Potions (Zodiac Deluxe)" which has five additional songs captured during the making of their full-length debut "Love Potions", including a Celtic-tinged, mandolin-laced interpretation of their single "BITCHES BE WITCHES" along with a trip-hop, nineties inspired remix of "Push". Watch the video for "Seven White Horses" below and be sure to watch this space for more Starbenders news coming soon.

There really isn't anyone else out there doing what Starbenders have been since forming in 2014: The intoxicating combination of '70s glitter and '80s glam with new wave and new romantic, seduced into this new decade by four thrilling musicians and, in frontwoman Kimi Shelter, one of the most exciting songwriters in contemporary rock & roll.

The band is completed by bassist Aaron Lecesne, guitarist Kriss Tokaji, and drummer Emily Moon. The band's latest album, "Love Potions", sees Starbenders moving in a more adventurous and slightly experimental direction.

Dublin's Cat Dowling announces new single 'All That I Can Do', releases 'Animals' album digitally

"Cat Dowling’s vocals, melodicism and pop sensibility are brilliant... introspective and heartfelt... passionate and liberating" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

“”An unforgettable and soothing voice and powerful delivery... easy to see why Dowling is indeed one of the artists “making it” abroad" ~ The Spill Magazine

“The strongest collection of her career. She has exceeded expectations with an LP throbbing with anger and ennui” ~ Irish Times

"A total submersion in love, pain and everything in between .On a par with PJ Harvey and Patti Smith" (Album of the year) ~ Irish Independent

“It's her incredible vocals that resonate. When mercurial, she is reminiscent of the gutsy Karen O. When the pace slows, the respectful tone evokes Kristin Hersh” ~ Sunday Times

“An artist with a lot to say and plenty of bewitching ways to say it. Excellent” ~ RTE

“Truly a talent we can now believe in” ~ Mail on Sunday

Dublin-based indie pop artist Cat Dowling will release 'All The I Can Do' on February 11, the fourth single offering from her recently released ‘Animals’via Forever In Financial Arrears Records (FIFA Records)

While a dance song, ‘All That I Can Do’ is also an intimate declaration of love. Cat Dowling notes, “All that I can do is give you my love” the songs opening line captures the meaning of this song. “Love is the greatest we can offer anyone and that includes ourselves”.

On Thursday, February 3, Cat will also be playing a very special show at Whelan’s main room in Dublin. Her special guests that night will be FIFA label mates One Morning in August. On sale now, tickets can be obtained here.

The new 11-track long-player was produced by Gerry Horan with Dowling as co-producer, and mixed by Ger Mcdonnell (The Cure, U2, Van Morrison, Martha Wainwright, Shane McGowan, Sinead O'Connor), This album was partially recorded at Crossroads Studio in her native Kilkenny with support from Ireland's Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.

Lauded as one of the most wonderful and evocative vocalists in Irish contemporary music, Dowling's beautifully dark pop songs and husky, achingly intimate vocals will grip you from the outset. The former Babelfish and Alphastates frontwoman creates well-crafted songs that inspire.

"I wrote Animals during a busy period of my life when to find those rare moments to write music meant I had to be a thief elsewhere. But it was these stolen moments that gave me oxygen and a beautiful almost supernatural energy," says Cat Dowling.

Dowling also presents a stunning video for the title track ‘Animals’, created by Irish artist, illustrator and animator Marc Corrigan, who has worked with such artists as Lil Kim, The Futureheads, I’m from Barcelona, Dr. Octagon, The Academic and Ham Sandwich. This is a song of movement, sensuality, wildness, love and freedom. A song about that beautiful part inside the human make-up that can't ever and should never be tamed.

"Animals’ is a wild song. It never stops moving. When I first heard it I could picture the ending straight away – a constant flow of wild animals morphing and twisting into each other. Once I knew that, I just had to build up to it, set up a surreal morphing world. The imagery had to move constantly to keep pace with the music. It had to suggest animal instincts in a beautiful way. It had to be a constant high energy piece that never let up and built to a crescendo. So I just kept drawing,” says Marc Corrigan.

Earlier, Dowling released the singles 'Freedom', a lush slice of soulful pop perfection with video by Alba Lahoz, featuring her three free-spirited children doing their thing on the beach. The video for the preceding single, ‘Trouble’, was created by BAFTA award-winning director Fergal Costello, recalling a dark, comedic and violent tale set outside of 1981 Belfast.

In 2013, Dowling debuted with ‘The Believer’ LP, ranked in numerous ‘Best of Year’ music polls, including The Sunday Times. The title track featured in the second series of ‘Banshee’, produced by Alan Ball (Six Feet Under, American Beauty, True Blood) and the ‘Witches of East End’ TV series, featuring Julia Ormond. The song ‘Somebody Else’ was also used in ‘My name is Emily’. Cat has also lent vocals on many collaborative projects, including for ABC’s ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ with Emmy-winning actress Viola Davis.

FIFA Records is a steadily expanding label, who have continuously worked with exciting new Irish talent (Fight Like Apes, One Morning in August, Klubber Lang, Hope is Noise, Dae Kim, Lorraine Nash), as well as releasing material from more established names on the Irish indie scene, such as The Frank & Walters, Emperor of Ice Cream, August Wells, Power of Dreams and Whipping Boy.

Currently available on CD (the limited-edition cassette has sold out), as of January 28, the 'Animals' LP will be released digitally and available via Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

DAWN OF ASHES Reveals New Single, "EMDR"

New Album, Scars Of The Broken, due Out March 18, 2022, via Artoffact Records!

Los Angeles based Industrial Metal band DAWN OF ASHES has released their newest single, "EMDR." With lyrics and music by front-man Kristof Bathory and guitars, mixing, and mastering by Angel Crowe, "EMDR" is off of the band's upcoming album, Scars Of The Broken, which releases March 18 through Artoffact Records.

“This song was inspired from my own personal experience dealing with a type of therapy called EMDR which stands for ‘ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing’. This specific type of hypnotic therapy is for helping people who have dealt with past traumatic experiences.” - Kristof Bathory

Scars Of the Broken has been one of the most emotionally difficult albums that I have ever created. All of the musical and lyrical content was straight from a place that I have been dealing with for a long time of my life. I poured out every darkest and deepest emotion into every song. Mental health is something that a lot of people struggle with and sometimes it just needs to be heard through music. I hope this album helps those that are struggling.”

The gates of hell opened once again in 2021, revealing CRADLE OF FILTH's 13th manifesto Existence Is Futile. Pieced together in isolation at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with studio guru Scott Atkins, the record is a pitch-black, perverse and at times absurdly brutal masterpiece, based around the concept of existentialism.

Diehard fans were thrilled to learn that horror icon Doug 'Pinhead' Bradley made a welcome return, lending his dulcet tones to the band's most politically astute song to date, the epic "Suffer Our Dominion" as well as the album bonus track "Sisters Of The Mist", which is the conclusion to the "Her Ghost In The Fog" trilogy, started over 20 years ago on the infamous and classic Midian.

Belched from Hell’s depths into the rustic charms of the Witch County, Suffolk, thirty long and disturbing years ago, CRADLE OF FILTH are undisputed giants of the heavy metal realm. Imperious purveyors of a perennially unique strain of dark, dastardly, and willfully extreme metal, with deep roots in the worlds of gothic horror and occult curiosity, the band led by Dani Filth has weathered three decades of tumult and trial, earning a formidable reputation as both a singular creative force and one of the most riotously entertaining live bands the metal world has ever produced.

Vampires Everywhere Release New Single + Music Video "Sudden Death"

Las Vegas-based horror rockers Vampires Everywhere have today released their latest single and music video for their new track "Sudden Death". Speaking on today's release, frontman Michael Vampire shares:

“I am beyond excited to continue my 12-year journey with Vampires Everywhere into 2022. Bringing back Vampires has inspired me and given me a fresh outlook on my music career. That being said I’m stoked to release our next single “Sudden Death”. I wanted to tackle my love for the occult and my relationship demons. This song is a direct hybrid of those elements. The music video was so fun to shoot this time. Everything was perfectly planned out and storyboarded. It’s about a girl that is trapped in her own head, toying with the idea of taking her own life. She’s been turned into a monster, a vampire by me. She’s watching me from this creepy TV HQ-type space debating her next move. She ultimately decides to destroy me to get revenge to appease her own demons. I’m excited for people to see and hear the new 2022 Vampires Chapter. I am grateful we will be hitting the road in February to play “Sudden Death” live as I’m stoked to see how it translates on a stage."

Fans will have the opportunity to see Vampires Everywhere on the road this spring on the From Hell With Love Tour along with Young Medicine, City Of The Weak, and Junexa. Watch the music video for "Sudden Death" below, and click here for ticket information for the From Hell With Love Tour.

Vampires Everywhere were conceptualized in early 2010 by Michael Orlando later known as Michael Vampire. The band started its journey in Hollywood, CA-based on the idea of bringing a fresh feel to an already saturated metalcore market. Michael has been obsessed with the 1987 cult classic film "The Lost Boys" since age 13 and wanted to start a band around his love for the movie and his passion for rock music. The band quickly gained notoriety in 2010 with their debut music video for "Immortal Love" which hit half a million views and landed on the iconic MTV Headbangers Ball. A few months later VE was signed to Century Media Records and toured with Black Veil Brides on the Hot Topic Tour around the United States. The band also landed an opening spot for X Japan's first North American run playing for over 5,000 people a night and to this day is the only band to open for X Japan in the US. After an amazing run on the 2012 Warped Tour, the band was asked by Kevin Lyman to headline Rob Zombie's Great Adventure in Pomona, CA. Vampires Everywhere have since toured with the likes of Motionless In White, AIDEN, Alesana, Orgy, Filter, Falling In Reverse, and countless others. Stay tuned for more Vampires Everywhere news coming soon.

SYLVAINE is furthermore unveiling the artwork for 'Nova', which can be viewed together with the album details below.

To speak to Sylvaine, the one-woman multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, and composer born Kathrine Shepard, is to speak to some spirit that exists beyond the veil of convention and stereotypes. This is not a woman playing to the vogue dark melodic folklorist trope that has become so prevalent in the metal scene but rather, this is a woman who is a serious and classically trained composer and arranger whose songs, that originate on unplugged electric guitars in lavender and black bedrooms, end up exploding against the unlimited conventions of what modern music can accomplish.

For some time, Kathrine Shepard has been seen as the petite pixie of the Norwegian black gaze scene but her small eleven features and lightheartedness belie the woman warrior behind Nova, her complex and personal fourth release. Following her 2018 Atoms Aligned Coming Undone release, Sylvaine (a play on the name of one of her beloved French poets, Paul Verlaine) gives us Nova, an album that is both a musical and personal reawakening of a singer/composer finding her way in this world.

The Lord of the Rings type choir arrangement heralds in the opening of her latest release as we the entranced listeners follow her to the realm of Lothlorien. The creation of this ambitious release began in 2019, before the world changed before all of our eyes. Experiencing a personal loss in a time the world was suffering a collective loss, Sylvaine composed on her guitar and wrote in her notebooks, eventually leading her into the small rooms of Drudenhaus in early 2021. Sequestered away in the countryside of France, the Norwegian native and her musical cohorts would all contract Covid. Asthmatic since birth, our heroine isolated herself in a small room to score out the different soprano and alto melodies of an actual choir to make her vision for the opening track “Nova,” come to life. Sung in an imagined language, the syllables of NO-VA continued to emerge, suggesting to the singer something linguistically symbolic and important.

“I’ve been wanting to write a choir piece since my 'Wistful' days,” she says, “Just a purely vocal piece. I love harmonies and the most personal instrument you have is yourself, your voice. I wanted to really show who I am this time around.”

Naked on the cover, which may raise some eyebrows, Sylvaine insists to her fans that this is a symbol of her own vulnerability and personal rebirth that transpired over these years of creating Nova. “Nova" in terms of language is connected to words such as nuova (Italian) or nueva (Spanish), meaning ‘new’ and speaks to a rebirth, to loss, the temporality of life, grieving as nothing lasting forever, but looking forward as new doors are forever opening.

Album tracks “Mono No Aware” and “Fortapt” are compositions in the 10-minute range, showing the progressive skills of the multi-instrumentalist’s musical mastery and magic. Taking the loud and quiet back-and-forth of the ‘90s a step farther, she manages to haunt every note with primal sincerity. “Fortapt” is a particularly unique track, paying homage to Sylvaine’s Norwegian roots. And while critics may want to pin a song like “Nowhere, Still Somewhere” in the shoegaze or dreampop category, her mysterious resonance adds something to the composition that makes Sylvaine’s work defy categorization.

Much like Joan of Arc, Sylvaine is not a one-woman army without her legionaries. Instead of enlisting members of the folk metal glitterati, she has been a bit more selective about her surprise guests on her album, choosing Scottish violinist Lambert Segura of SAOR and cellist Nostarion aka Patrik Urban, whom she met while performing a very special acoustic show in Belgium in 2019. For Sylvaine, it felt emotionally appropriate to weave classically trained instrumentalists into her work, demonstrated on the last track on the album, "Everything Must Come to an End."

Unlike so many of the pixie dream girls haunting the American metal landscape right now, Sylvaine sings but also screams from the very depths. There is absolutely no one in the metal game right now who can match her vocal range, which traverses from the elvish sounds of Enya and Lisa Gerard to the black metal Ericthro screeches of her kvlt counterparts of the land of ice and snow.

In the U.S., we have a tendency to clarify bedroom pop as music that is composed in the feminine space of one’s bedroom confines. Although orchestral and incredibly composed, Sylvaine does not shy away from admitting her songs always start bare bones—almost all of her compositions begin with an unplugged electric guitar. “A melody and a chord progression should be able to stand on its own without any effects whatsoever. The song will go on to manifest itself in different ways but that main guitar part has to be solid enough to emotionally work just by itself, “ she says.

But to this lover of Verlaine and the French Romantic poets (as well as a diehard Type O Negative fan), the written word is still paramount to her heart. After all, she explains, “Music is an attempt to avoid the words we can’t always express in life.”

SYLVAINE Premieres New Song "Mono No Aware"

Norwegian multi-instrumentalist SYLVAINE will be releasing her fourth studio album, 'Nova,' on March 4, 2021! The singer/songwriter has teamed up with Metal Injection to premiere her devastating new single, "Mono No Aware." The song can be found along with a visualizer below.

SYLVAINE comments on the track: "The moment when you appreciate the beauty of our human existence and what lies within it being completely transient, yet feeling overcome by sadness for the exact same reason, that is 'Mono No Aware.' Every Sylvaine record holds one song title that can't be directly translated into English, and this time I felt the melancholy and depth of the Japanese saying 'mono no aware' fit perfectly with the emotions that went into creating this record. Existing somewhere between nostalgia, a yearning for things lost and past times and a respect for the ephemeral nature of things, 'Mono No Aware' basically deals with how hard it is to accept that the only constant in our existence is change. Being one of the heaviest tracks I wrote to date, 'Mono No Aware' is filled with intensity in every way, pushing the borders of light and dark even further. This song also holds some of my favorite lyrics of the album; 'You need to fade away, so I can truly see you. Show me the meaning of being alive - Fading, I see you now.'"

The song and album are available for pre-saving on all other digital platformsHERE while the record is available for pre-ordersHERE.

Speaking on today's announcement, frontman Zelli shares

"This is what Paleface is all about. The entire 65mins. speaks for us: for our emotions, our style, our dedication and our PLFC-Family.

We wrote and recorded the entire record within six months not only for our fans and for us, but also for all the people out there who are struggling with dark times in their life and themselves. We want to give them a piece of solace. Music to connect with, something to gain strength, something to be happy about, something that helps you deal with the pain or just something to let all the anger out.

I am unbelievably proud of "Fear & Dagger". It is, by far, our angriest and most emotional record yet and I can’t wait to share it with the world."

Since their last album, 'Chapter 3: The Last Selection', independent outfit, Paleface have gained international recognition throughout the Deathcore and Beatdown Community. Known for their huge, aggressive riffs, brutally bombastic rhythm section, frontman, Zelli's outstanding vocals and a pinch of humor. This is Switzerland’s finest heavy music.

Their new album, "Fear & Dagger", focuses on more mature and critical topics related to the fears and struggles young people have to content with in the 21st century, most importantly, the topic of mental health. The album is a 65 minute monster, containing 16 tracks with guest appearances from members of Justice For The Damned (AUS), Traitors (US) and Landmvrks(FR) and a PALEFACE fan, diagnosed with schizophrenia, who lent his voice and perspective to the album.

"Deathtouch" follows the release of previous single "Dead Man's Diary" feat. LANDMVRKS frontman Florent Salfati. The track, released in September, has clocked up 381,000 cross-platform streams and 76,000 YouTube views.

ABOUT PALEFACE

PALEFACE was formed in Zurich, Switzerland in 2017 by vocalist Marc Zellweger (Zelli) and drummer Colin Hammond (CJ) having met through a mutual friend in 2016. After bonding over a shared love of beatdowns and hardcore, Zelli and CJ shook hands at a concert in 2017 and promised they would create the craziest beatdown band ever together.

They recruited guitarist Yannick Lehmann to the band and released their debut ‘Chapter 1: From The Gallows’ in 2018. Later that year, they brought bassist Tommy-Lee Abt to PALEFACE family. They played their first show in October 2018 and quickly grew in popularity with the song “Deprivation Method”.

In early 2019, Paleface started writing ‘Chapter 2: Witch King’ which was released in May 2019. The band started to gain international attention with the release of tracks “Human Hunter” and “Skin People”. They released the single “No Mercy At All” at the end of 2019 and started working on the final installment of the dark story they’d created with Chapters 1 & 2.

Chapter 3: The Last Selection’ was released on October 30th 2020 to much acclaim. PALEFACE released two music videos for huge tracks “Curse Us”, “The Rats” and “Skalpell” which quickly ranked high in the deadown/hardcore charts and saw the band become cover stars on Spotify’s Heavy Beatdown playlist. The released the music video for "Lights Out" earlier this year. Their releases to date have seen them clock up nearly 5.1 million streams across all platforms and 125k monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

The neutrality Switzerland is known for globally does not apply to Paleface.

They came to destroy.

ABOUT SHADOW OF INTENT

SHADOW OF INTENT is an American metal band based in New England originally formed by Ben Duerr and Chris Wisemanin 2014. The band continues to release their music independently including their first album Primordial (2016), second album Reclaimer (2017) and very recently their latest work Melancholy (2019).

The band name and lyrics were originally derived from lore from the Halo franchise and since then the band’s subject matter has become more dark and personal, while maintaining an element of fantasy and wonder. The band’s music is heavily built off of various different genres of metal including death metal, black metal, symphonic metal, progressive metal, and metalcore. SHADOW OF INTENT played their first live show at the end of 2017, which then lead to them embarking on several US tours with bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Carnifex, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Despised Icon, and more.

2021 has brought about a new era of the band bringing singles, "Where Millions Have Come To Die", “Intensified Genocide”, “From Ruin… We Rise” and a cover of Lamb of God’s “Laid to Rest”, foreshadowing the 2022 'Elegy' album release. The band further evolves their subject matter, touching on the atrocities of mankind throughout history brought about by warmongering, hatred, and greed. The signature SHADOW OF INTENT sound continues to evolve with a larger-than-life cinematic soundscape accompanying each track, bringing a sonic experience hitherto unheard.

Adam Ezra -2 New England Music Awards, and 12 Shows You Should Catch!!

Male Performer of the Year and Digital Performer of the Year!!

We are incredibly honored to have received "Male Act of the Year," as well as "Digital Performer of the Year," at this year's New England Music Awards!!  We are such an underground band in so many ways, we know that the only way something like this happens is because so many of you are out there listening, sharing, and spreading your contagious enthusiasm for this community.  Thank you so much...

During normal times, we would be touring our faces off right now, but with baby Willa filling a lot of Ad's time and heart, and our decision to ease back into playing indoor venues, we have decided to pick a small handful of shows, at some of our favorite spots in the Northeast to play at between now and 2022. The good news is that EVERY single one of these places is special, and we could not be more psyched about the shows we have!!

Friday, October 29 - Plymouth, NH - The Flying Monkey

This amazing old theater is truly one of the gems of New England.  The Flying Monkey has been working with AEG since they were an opening act here, and it is one of our absolute favorite places to perform.

Saturday, October 30 - Sydney, ME - Snow Pond Center for the Arts

This will be our second time performing here...an awesome series organized by one of our favorite promoters in New England.  Snow Pond feels like summer camp to us, and is a super fun place for a night of music.

Warning:  No band of Corinna's is going to let Halloween weekend pass us by without some kind of dress-up party, so expect a costumed second set from the bandies!  :)

After This Weekend:

New York City - Nov 1 - City Winery

Come see Adam play a solo opening set for his friend, the legendary Graham Parker!!

Cape Cod, MA - Nov 6 - The Music Room Gallery

This is a new spot for us, but we've heard great things.  Tiny space...only holds about 90 people, so if you're itching for a super-intimate acoustic night with AEG this is your show.

Pawling, NY - Nov 7 - Daryl's House

Thanks to our friends Hall & Oates this has become such a legendary spot!!  awesome place to grab din, and have the stage right there in the room with you.  Another one of our favorites!

Northampton, MA - Nov 12 - THE CALVIN THEATRE!!!

We were all set to play at one of our very favorite rooms, The Iron Horse Music Hall, but due to new Covid seating restrictions we could no longer fit!  The Calvin is one of the legendary beautiful theaters in the Northeast, and while we're way too small for it right now, we plan to have an AMAZING and SURREAL time playing to our 200 fans in this incredible 1300 person room!

Burlington, VT - Nov 21 - Higher Ground

There is not a more epic spot to play live music in New England than Burlington, and there is nowhere else we'd rather be than Higher Ground.  It's been a long time since we've had a chance to play here...can't wait to come back!!

BOSTON, MA - DEC 3 - City Winery

Not too many things make us happier than playing in our hometown, and we have a lot of great memories here at City Winery, where we recorded BTB3!  (This room will sell out, so make sure to get your tickets now!)

Shirley, MA - Dec 5 - Bull Run

Legendary spot in Central MA...honored to be back again!!

Keene, NH - Dec 17 - The Colonial Performing Arts Center

This will be a small concert in their showroom...first time in Keene for us!

Fall River, MA - Dec 18 - Narrows Center for the Arts

Built from an old industrial warehouse, the folks at The Narrows have put together one of the best listening rooms in the country.  Can't wait to come back!!

Old Saybrook, CT - Dec 30 - The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center

Beautiful theater...awesome people dedicated to creating impactful performance experiences...will be our second time headlining!!

NEW YEAR'S EVE - Derry, NH - Tupelo Music Hall

The tradition lives on...we are ready to celebrate with you!!

WINTER GATHERING - Fairlee, VT - JAN 1, 2, 3, & 4

Is it sad that this may be the highlight of our year, and it's going to be over by Jan 4th??  :)

Hotel rooms almost sold out for this, so if you want to come and stay with us on site, make sure to book now!!!
