Enter Shikari Announce New Companion Record "Dancing On The Frontline" & New US Tour Dates

Almost a year to the day since the release of their UK #1 album "A Kiss for the Whole World", Enter Shikari are announcing a new companion record "Dancing On The Frontline". The new record brings together remixes, non-album singles (featuring the likes of Wargasm, Cody Frost, AViVA and Fever 333’s Jason Aalon Butler), plus live recordings from the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show and Future Sounds shows. The record's opening track 'Goldfish (Shikari Sound System remix)' is out now. Pre-order "Dancing On The Frontline" HERE.

Talking about the new release, lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds says:

“We’re exactly one year on from the release of A Kiss For The Whole World, so it feels like the right time to present all our output from this crazy year, along with some new treats, all in one place. We’ve not had a lot of time or energy to do any Shikari Sound System mixes for a while, so it was great to be able to step back into that chair and remix 'Goldfish' and 'Bloodshot'. We tested out the Goldfish rework live on our UK & European tour and insanity ensued.”

Hear 'Goldfish (Shikari Sound System remix)' on streaming services here and watch below.

"Dancing On The Frontline" also comes with a Blu-ray of the band's headline performances at Slam Dunk Festival UK in 2023 and Germany's Vainstream Festival in the summer of 2022, with both shows edited by the band’s longtime visual collaborator Oleg Rooz.

Their much-lauded live show has since been all around the world, covering the USA, Australia, Europe, UK, Ireland and more. Audiences in the UK also witnessed the band's biggest ever headline tour to date of the country's arenas, an audio-visual spectacular that The Guardian awarded four stars and heralded as "the beginning of Enter Shikari’s greatest chapter."

In October the band will bring special guests You Me At Six out on the road with them, as they journey through North America on what will be You Me At Six's final ever shows in the continent, ahead of their split in 2025.

Talking about the upcoming tour, Reynolds continues:

"In October, Enter Shikari bring special guests You Me At Six to the states for a fresh headline run. "North America has always been difficult for Shikari, long tours, thousands of miles, and playing venues smaller than most of the other rooms we get to visit around the world. But we’ve always kept returning because there’s a real zest and passion from our audience out there, even if fewer people ‘get us’.

Recently things seem to have begun sizzling a bit more for us, with more shows selling out and more intensity in the crowds. So it’s some reward for our tenacity that we’re returning in October for what will be our biggest ever North American headline tour. And that will be made all the sweeter by being able to bring our friends You Me At Six with us for this one. We’ve known each other a long time, but somehow only ever played a couple of shows together, so the fact that they’re joining us for what will be their last ever USA & Canada tour really means something to us."

Australian pop-punks Yours Truly will also be joining the tour as openers on all dates.

Lake Malice Announce Debut EP "Post-Genesis" & Release Brand New Single "Mitsuko"

WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING:

“Lake Malice are the UK’s most exciting new alt.metal band.”

Kerrang!

“They are destined to be the talk of the town. Dark, chaotic and devilishly fun, they ebb and flow between techno breaks and towering heaviness.”

Metal Hammer

“The sound of British heaviness to come.”

Rock SoundOne of the UK heavy music scene’s most exciting prospects, Lake Malice, have today released their raging new single ‘Mitsuko’, which they describe as “the pissed off love child of Linkin Park and Pendulum, wrapped up in the unfiltered aggression of Loathe.” The track will feature on their debut EP ‘Post-Genesis’, which the duo have announced will be released 27th October via SO Recordings (Enter Shikari / Placebo / Deaf Havana). As well as being destined for a digital release (pre-save now), ‘Post-Genesis’ will be available as a limited edition 12” vinyl HERE or at the band’s plethora of upcoming live dates (from release date, and while stocks last).

Alice Guala (vocals) and Blake Cornwall (guitar/production) explain of the track:

"Mitsuko is a deeply personal and intense torrent of ‘full-on rage’, dealing with the complexities of family values, and raw emotions of a fragmented childhood. The title takes inspiration from the original ‘Battle Royale’ manga, where the character Mitsuko shares a similar struggle of family heartbreak and abandonment.”

Following extensive touring with the likes of As Everything Unfolds, Bloodywood, Skindred, Vukovi, Vended and Enter Shikari this year alone, Lake Malice are only now announcing their first ever headline shows across Europe, which will culminate in a date at The Black Heart in London on 6th December. Lake Malice really hit the ground touring in 2023, also delivering overwhelmingly energetic sets at festivals such as The Great Escape, Download and 2000trees, at which Kerrang! proclaimed they “have no right to be burning this hot already.”

Lake Malice have been assuredly unleashing a string of innovatively heavy alt-anthems for a post-Pandemic world since 2021. This year’s ‘Bloodbath’ and ‘Stop The Party’, which will also appear on the forthcoming EP, have taken things up a gear, lighting up the airwaves of BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, as well as receiving love from outlets like Kerrang! Online, Rock Sound and Metal Hammer and many more. The band’s unique splicing of hyperpop and metal also earned them two nominations at the Heavy Music Awards this year in the ‘Best UK Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Best Breakthrough Live Artist’ categories.

ENTER SHIKARI Release Brand New Album 'A Kiss For The Whole World'; Drop Official Music Video For Title Track

ENTER SHIKARI have released their highly-anticipated new album A Kiss for the Whole World today, accompanied by brand new music video for the album's title track, 'A Kiss For The Whole World x'. Stream the album HERE and watch the new video HERE or by clicking the image below.

Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds says:

"I’m so excited to let this beast out into the wild! It’s such a vibrant album, a cocktail of emotions and I can’t wait for people to delve in.

Judging on the way the tracks we’ve played live so far are going down, I think it’s really gonna connect with people.”

ENTER SHIKARI have a way with opening statements and as their new album begins with the words “Be embraced, billions” (‘A Kiss for the Whole World x’), we immediately learn plenty about the band's ambition for this album to touch people.

Its trio of whirlwind single releases to date have reignited dormant sparks '(pls) set me on fire' confronted how we measure self-worth ('It Hurts') and eyed the trappings of cyclical mistakes (‘Bloodshot’). Journeying through the new album, we are met with calls to revel in the power of spontaneity, (‘Leap Into The Lightning’), encouraged to explore (‘Jailbreak’), and - most poignantly - asked to consider the changing nature of identity (‘giant pacific octopus’).

A Kiss for the Whole World heralds the band's most vibrant, direct and life-affirming album so far.

For ENTER SHIKARI, rejuvenation, resilience and resurrection have been on the agenda as they've been introducing the new songs to huge audiences in the UK, Europe and Japan on a series of innovative live residency dates this Spring.

Next month they will hit the US to play 4 very special, sold-out album release shows in Anaheim, CA (4/30) Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10).

More about Enter Shikari and new album A Kiss For The Whole World

As the calendar now signals three years since Enter Shikari last released an album - their UK #2 charting album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible – it is useful to think back to the final question the band last posed fans: “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” Little could they know just how close to the end things would end up feeling as the events of the early ‘20s dimmed the light in the furnace of their live juggernaut, and connection to their fans. “At the time it felt like we ourselves, as musicians, were experiencing the death of our band,” says lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds.

Unsurprisingly, the key in the band’s ignition came in the form of a live show as they headlined the Download Festival Pilot in front of 10,000 fans. Where not a single new word flowed from the pen of Reynolds in the two years prior, a realisation was born that would come to define the band’s seventh LP: “I just didn’t realise that the human and physical connection to other people were so central to how I write,” he says. Enter Shikari isn’t just four people – it’s hundreds of thousands.

The album's lead single "(pls) set me on fire" sparked the next stage in the band’s evolution, and the first words we hear from Enter Shikari 2.0 don’t come in the form of a question this time, but a command: “Please set me on fire”. In other words, ignite the spark inside us and set us free. This may be a new Enter Shikari but they’ve lost nothing in their flair for bold opening gambits.

Reynolds comments on the single’s conception: "Honestly, I thought I was f*****. I’ve never felt so detached from my soul, my purpose, my f****** spirit. I didn’t write music for almost two years. The longest I’d gone before that was two weeks. I was broken. It’s almost as if my brain had asked: “What is the point in music if it cannot be shared? What is the point in writing music if it’s not to be experienced with others?” and then promptly switched itself off. ‘(pls) set me on fire’ grew out of that desperation. This song is a projectile vomit of positive energy. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free."

It was in the Spring of 2022 that the band descended to the coastal town of Chichester, and a delipidated farmhouse, to rebuild their studio setup and capture their renewed momentum on record. Using only solar power to track the album – in what Reynolds says was to “bring back some sense of naivety” – the life-giving properties and Technicolor palate of A Kiss For The Whole World were made real. Reynolds continues: “Back to basics. This band - my best friends - bundled into an old farmhouse, miles away from anywhere. Off-grid, and ready to rediscover ourselves. This album is powered by the sun, the most powerful object in our solar system. And I think you can tell. It’s a collection of songs that represent an explosive reconnection with what Enter Shikari is. The beginning of our second act”.

ENTER SHIKARI Share New Single "Bloodshot" & Announce Special Matinee Show

Enter Shikari are today sharing "Bloodshot", the third single to be taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Listen to "Bloodshot" below.

"Bloodshot" follows recent singles "(pls) set me on fire" and "It Hurts", both of which were instantly embraced with open arms by fans old and new, and received their first live outings during the band’s sensational run of sold-out February residency shows in the UK. For Enter Shikari, rejuvenation, resilience and resurrection have been on the agenda as they introduce new music to the world. However, in the arrival of "Bloodshot" the band have more questions to pose themselves, and us.

Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds explains:

“Every day, I seem to be asking myself “Is this article biased?”, “is this claim true?”, “Should I be more furious about this issue? Or less furious?”, “Am I being manipulated? Provoked? Radicalised by my own ‘tribe’?.

"Bloodshot" is about how hard it is to find truth, and how easy it is to stop thinking for yourself and simply repeat your ‘team’s’ mantras.

Everyone’s so fucking angry with everyone else and it’s exhausting. It seems like social media’s main purpose these days is to hypnotise us to hate."

Pre-order A Kiss For The Whole World here. Limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3 album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

Enter Shikari have also announced an intimate all ages matinee show at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA on April 30th, to accompany their sold out run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US. Alongside their matinee show, the band will be hitting Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10) for their special US run.

ENTER SHIKARI Share New Single "It Hurts"

Enter Shikari are today sharing "It Hurts", the second single to be taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Listen to "It Hurts" on streaming services here.

"It Hurts" follows January's earth-shaking lead single "(pls) set me on fire". It brings with it a call to switch up our worldview and reassess the ways in which we judge ourselves - all in a flurry of race-to-the-finish-line intensity. Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds explains:

"'It Hurts' came to me in a dream. Literally. Melody, chords, and fully-formulated chorus were all part of a dream that, thankfully, remained with me when I woke up. I was hiding under the duvet at 3AM, singing it into my phone, much to the bewilderment of my girlfriend.

Lyrically, "It Hurts" is about perseverance, and the importance of reframing failure as a fruitful and, in fact, pivotal route to progress. Society teaches us we should avoid and criticise failure, when defeat and honest mistakes can actually present us with insights that light our way forward.

In reality, we should be taught that simply to try makes us more than enough.

Pre-order A Kiss For The Whole World here. Limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3 album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

Enter Shikari have also previously announced a run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US. Taking place in May this year, the band will be playing 3 very special US show, hitting Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10).

ENTER SHIKARI Drop Official Music Video For "(pls) set me on fire"

Enter Shikari have dropped the official music video for "(pls) set me on fire" today. Watch the video below. The release follows the announcement last week of their highly anticipated new album, A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Pre-orders for the album are available HERE with limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

‘(pls) set me on fire is the first single from Enter Shikari’s forthcoming album ‘A Kiss For The Whole World’. The accompanying music video was conceived and directed by frontman Rou Reynolds, alongside London-based Producers / longtime friends / collaborators of the band, Kode Media.

Intended specifically as a more simple (yet extremely dynamic) video which twins with its single #2 successor, ‘(pls) set me on fire’ was filmed in one complete shot on one locked-off camera in the docklands of East London, just hours into the beginning of 2023.

On the subject of the video, Rou Reynolds said :

"I’ve not always been happy with our previous music videos, so figured I’d put my money where my mouth was and direct these ones myself. I wanted the ‘(pls) set me on fire’ video to feel minimal and uncomplicated, which is actually the polar opposite of the next video.

So, given that the main function of this video is really just to set up the next one, I think it came out fucking great.”

Enter Shikari will perform a run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US. Taking place in May this year, the band will play 3 very special US show, hitting Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10). Tickets are available in advance for one week only, to those who have pre-ordered 'A Kiss For The Whole World' from band & label stores, as well as members of the band’s fan club. General on-sale for remaining tickets will begin on Thursday, January 26th at 10am local time.

It was in the Spring of 2022 that the band descended to the coastal town of Chichester, and a dilapidated farmhouse, to rebuild their studio setup and capture their renewed momentum on record. Using only solar power to track the album – in what Reynolds says was to “bring back some sense of naivety” – the life-giving properties and Technicolor palate of A Kiss For The Whole World were made real. Reynolds continues:

“Back to basics.

Limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3 album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

As new single ‘(pls) set me on fire’ heralds the next stage in the band’s evolution, the first words we hear from Enter Shikari 2.0 don’t come in the form of a question this time, but a command: “Please set me on fire”. In other words, ignite the spark inside us and set us free. This may be a new Enter Shikari but they’ve lost nothing in their flair for bold opening gambits.

Reynolds comments on the single’s conception:

"Honestly, I thought I was f*****. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free.”
