Roadrunner United was a project organized by iconic hard rock record label Roadrunner Records to celebrate its 25th anniversary, culminating in the U.S. Billboard Top 200, UK Albums, and Australian ARIA Albums-charting original The All Star Sessions. Four "team captains" (Slipknot's Joey Jordison, Machine Head's Robb Flynn, Fear Factory's Dino Cazares, and Trivium's Matthew K. Heafy) were chosen to lead 57 artists from 45 past and present Roadrunner bands. It was truly a heavy metal family affair — and then some!

The release was labeled "a testament to Roadrunner's far-reaching impact on the genre" by MTV. Because that's exactly what it was.

Additionally, on December 15, 2005, a concert celebrating the project, album, and anniversary took place at the Nokia Theater in New York City.

Today, you can watch the live performance of the Roadrunner United original song song "The Dagger."

The performance features Howard Jones (Light The Torch), Robb Flynn (Machine Head), Jeff Waters (Annihilator), Jordan Whelan, Adam Duce (Machine Head), Paul Gray (Slipknot), and Andols Herrick (Chimaira).

"Robb wrote a monster of a song, and he knows how to showcase vocals," says Jones. "I can't thank him enough for bringing me on board! Getting to perform 'The Dagger' with him and so many talented guys was an absolute blast. That album coming to life for one evening was a real moment in time — everyone walked away with awesome memories that night!"

The star-studded event featured multiple musicians, both past and present, from Roadrunner bands — as well as musicians that did not originally perform on the All-Star Sessions album.

The set list consisted of some of the most popular and famous songs released by Roadrunner Records, as well as some of the original songs from the project's album. The "core band," which performed on the majority of the songs, consisted of the aforementioned Cazares (Fear Factory), Adam Duce(Machine Head), the late Paul Gray (Slipknot), the late Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), and Roy Mayorga(Hellyeah, Stone Sour).

Now, both the original All-Star Sessions album and the concert performance itself will be made widely available in multiple configurations on March 10, 2023. Pre-orders for the concert album, which will be available on vinyl, CD, digitally, and presented in HD for the first time, are now live here.

All details about each configuration of the live concert album and original CD are below.

ROADRUNNER UNITED: THE CONCERT (LIVE AT THE NOKIA THEATRE, NEW YORK,NY, 12/15/2005) VINYL:

We have opened the vault to bring to you for the first time on vinyl Roadrunner United The Concert (Live at the Nokia Theatre, New York, NY, 12/15/2005), featuring members of Slipknot, Anthrax, Trivium, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Sepultura, and more. Roadrunner United was a project organized by the heavy metal record label Roadrunner Records to celebrate its 25th anniversary. On December 15, 2005, in New York City. Roadrunner Records produced the metal concert to end all Metal Concerts: 39 musicians, representing 25 different Roadrunner bands, performed 25 songs from 19 different bands' repertoires. This unique and unprecedented aggregation of musicians was no jam session. Each song was studiously rehearsed and arranged, coming together with exuberant perfection, to produce a concert that can only be called legendary and iconic!

Conceived as a follow-up to the Roadrunner United The All-Star Sessions, the label recruited the core team of musicians (Dino Cazares, Adam Duce, Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Andreas Kisser, and Roy Mayorga) as the backbone of the performance.  Sure enough, as they fine-tuned the songs and rehearsed them tirelessly, dozens of other musicians boarded the performance.

This 3-LP set represents the gathering of a community of musicians that spans the heavy metal history of the first 25 years of Roadrunner Records — from King Diamond to Slipknot and beyond. Those who were lucky enough to be there experienced a night they will never forget.  For the first time as a live concert album, this 3-LP set on red, white, and black-colored vinyl is a chance to relive that special night again and again.

The concert will also be available digitally.

It is also presented in HD for the first time ever.

ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Beartooth, the band Forbes declared is "inching towards a tipping point of becoming the latest arena headliner," dropped their latest anthem "RIPTIDE" in 2022 and it saw frontman Caleb Shomo put the pain of the past in the rearview mirror as he takes the steering wheel from fate to command his own destiny. The track memorializes the struggle with mental health and self-acceptance, which has defined so much of Beartooth since its inception. Shomo started this band in his basement, playing all the instruments to challenge and purge inner darkness, purely for himself at first. As the band he assembled to play the songs traveled, they discovered how many people recognized the same demons.  As KERRANG! observed, "Caleb Shomo is one of his generation's most remarkable songwriters." It's a testament to the purity of intention manifested by the multi-instrumentalist from the start. Songs like "The Past is Dead," "Fed Up," and "In Between" have pushed BEARTOOTH past a billion streams. The band's fourth album, Below, topped the Rock, Hard Music, and Alternative charts in 2021 and found its way into Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists assembled by the likes of Revolver, Rock Sound, Loudwire, Knotfest, and a slew of like-minded media outlets. The band also graced its first Revolver cover in Summer 2021. Beartooth's marriage of colossally catchy choruses and post-hardcore-soaked-in-sweaty-metal is without rival. Its effect is evident by their deeply engaged audience; tours with Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, and A Day To Remember; and an RIAA-certified gold plaque.

ABOUT TRIVIUM:
Trivium released their tenth full-length, In the Court of the Dragon, through longtime label Roadrunner Records in 2021. The record was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur. The band has continued to receive International acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, KERRANG!, NME, TechCrunch, Kotaku, Alternative Press, Revolver, and more. That's because Trivium have been steadily building a rock solid foundation. The band released its now-canonical album Ascendancy in 2005. It was recognized as KERRANG!'s "Album of the Year," achieved a gold certification in the UK, and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. It ignited a string of six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and five straight Top 3 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, culminating on 2017's benchmark The Sin And The Sentence. That album elevated the group's total stream tally past a quarter-of-a-billion. Additionally, "Betrayer" received a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of "Best Metal Performance." They followed with What the Dead Men Say in 2020, which landed the band on several year-end "Best Of" lists. Through the years, Trivium performed alongside Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and many others and graced the main stages of Download, Bloodstock, KNOTFEST, and more. After two decades, 10 albums, hundreds of sold out shows, and nearly a billion catalog streams on Spotify, Trivium actualize the all-encompassing ambition they first set in motion back in 1999.

Trivium Share Heaven Shall Burn Cover

Grammy-nominated Florida heavyweights TRIVIUM — Matthew K. Heafy(vocals/guitars); Corey Beaulieu (guitars); Paolo Gregoletto (bass); and drummer Alex Bent — are embarking on a sold-out headline tour of Europe along with Heaven Shall Burn. The bands are marking the occasion with a twist and have come up with a clever way to give their fans some "new" music.

Today, Trivium have shared their cover of Heaven Shall Burn's "Implore the Darken Sky."

Listen to the song, now available at all DSPs, below.

The cover is featured on a split 7" that the bands are selling on the road and directly to fans while touring Europe together. Heaven Shall Burn previously released their cover of Trivium's "Pillar of Serpents," which appears on the band's first album From Ember to Inferno. Listen here.

"In the early days of Trivium, back when we were discovering the many great genres and flavors of heavy music, I knew about the classic greats, I knew about extreme metal, but never before had I heard what HSB was doing," says Heafy. "Heaven Shall Burn's Whatever It May Take album was my first introduction to their brand of metalcore. This fusion of hardcore ethos and metal sounds blew my mind."

Heafy finishes, "'Implore the Darken Sky' is not only my favorite HSB song, but the one that taught me so much about a sound that needed to be injected into Trivium."

Trivium's European tour wraps at the end of the month. The band will announce further 2023 tour plans shortly.

ABOUT TRIVIUM:
Trivium released their tenth album, In The Court Of The Dragon, via longtime label Roadrunner Records. The record was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur and recorded in the Fall of 2020 at Full Sail University in Orlando. Get In the Court Of The Dragon here. Trivium shared the album's title track, "In The Court Of The Dragon," which featured an epic intro composed and orchestrated by Ihsahn (Emperor) and was accompanied by an official short film music videodirected by Ryan Mackfall. Loudwire called out the song as "a skillful blend of dynamics. And blast beats just sound really, really good beneath Matt Heafy's soothing clean singing" while Revolver labeled it "epic." Guitar World christened second single "Feast Of Fire" as "pummeling" and "quintessentially Trivium," as Metal Injection declared it "really, really catchy." The band also shared the video for "The Phalanx" in partnership with Elder Scrolls. Kerrang! called it "huge." Heafy discussed the genesis of the track with NME. Read it here.
