Conquer Divide Share New Track "Bad Dreams" Feat. Of Virtue

Conquer Divide have revealed their latest single, "Bad Dreams," featuring Michigan metalcore heroes Of Virtue. The single drops ahead of their U.K. and European tour dates.

Listen to "Bad Dreams" here.

Watch the lyric video below.

The song combines Conquer Divide's ability to mix luscious and captivating vocals and hooks with their crushing intensity, both musically and lyrically, on this introspective slab of inner turmoil, which is complemented by Of Virtue's vocalists (Tyler Ennis and Damon Tate) melodic-turned-raging contributions.

Talking about the personal tones of the song, guitarist Izzy Johnson says, "We are stoked to bring the next era of Conquer Divide with our new song 'Bad Dreams,' featuring Of Virtue. Lyrically, it touches on the feeling of wanting nothing more than to succeed but being sabotaged by your own thoughts. Analysis paralysis is real and creates cycles that sometimes feel unbreakable, something that we have all individually experienced. Just like our other songs 'Paralyzed,' 'Pressure,' and 'N E W H E A V E N' (that also have introspective themes), we hope this song is something our listeners can relate to and find comfort in. Big thanks to the guys in Of Virtue who made the song come alive, we are blessed to create music alongside such talent."

Of Virtue's Tyler Ennis adds, "I've been a fan of Conquer Divide ever since I heard 'Messy.' It's an absolute honor being asked to bring both our bands together on their newest single and we're excited for it to finally be released!"

They recently had two recordings that are having wide success at the US Active Rock format. First, a new version of the band’s hit "Paralyzed" (Featuring Attack Attack!); which became the band's first entry on the Billboard charts, and re-release of alt-rockers 10 Years' hit "The Optimist," which featured Conquer Divide's Kia, ahead of the two bands touring the U.S. together in October.

In January 2025, Conquer Divide will return to Europe and the UK for a tour with New Years Day between the  January 21 and February 1. Right after, the band will appear with Ankor starting on February 7 in Cologne, and will call through Germany, The Netherlands, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and will finish on March 16 in Kortrijk, Belgium.

A Deluxe Edition of their most recent album Slow Burn was released digitally last September and featured an additional six recordings. Three of these are from Sirius XM Octane's Next Wave Concert Series, which are "Bad Guy," "Atonement," and "Paralyzed." Alongside "Paralyzed (Featuring "Attack Attack!)," "Only Girl" (Acoustic), and "80 Proof."

The band hailing from the U.S., U.K. and Canada have made a steady progression from their melodic metalcore inspired roots, maturing into a formidable hard rock act, nearing the end of their first decade together. In 2020, they returned to the studio with 2x Grammy nominated producer Tyler Smyth (Falling in Reverse, I Prevail) and 4x RIAA certified gold record producer Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice & Men) and began recording of Slow Burn.

SLOW BURN picked up multiple playlisting including All New Metal, Rock Hard, The Core, Heavy Queens, Kickass Metal, New Nu and more. They picked up multiple BBC Radio 1 plays alongside playlisting at Kerrang! Radio, Kerrang! TV and Primordial Radio. "Paralyzed" was one of the Metal Hammer 2023 tracks of the year with the album also being amongst the ‘Albums of the Year.’ They've picked up support from Rock Sound, Distorted Sound, Alternative Press, Revolver, GuitarWorld, SXM Octane, Loudwire and more. The album has now exceeded 40 million cumulative streams.

The Wait Is Over: Of Virtue Release 'Omen' Album and Title Track Single

Rising as an unrivaled force in metal, Of Virtue, have today unleashed their highly anticipated album, "Omen" via Arising Empire Records. Accompanying the thunderous release is its enigmatic title track single, which serves as a captivating prelude to the emotional journey that "Omen" holds. Fans can listen to the new album below.

Speaking on today's album release, Damon Tate shares:

"This record is 3 years and a whole lifetime in the making. If we had listened to everyone who told us to give up and move on - or the doubt in our own minds that can creep in - then we wouldn't be standing here today, stronger than ever. OMEN is a shining beacon that we can change ourselves for the better and attempt to provide that same light for others in the process. We did not choose to exist in this life, everyone's circumstances and situations are different. For us, it is a privilege and a responsibility to shine our light onto others, as those artists and kind human beings did for us during our darkest hours. We do not have to be slaves to past decisions, mistakes made, or self-sabotage as long as we keep putting one foot in front of the other."

Regarding today's single release, Tate continues:

"Omen was written as an open letter to my younger self. Nobody can change the past or the mistakes that were made - the only thing we can do is be as open and honest about our journey with others that may be in a similar situation so they can potentially avoid some of the harsh realities that can come along with growing up. For a long time, I bottled up the shame and guilt attached with my alcohol/drug abuse and even though I was on a road to recovery, those negative behaviors started to manifest themselves in other ways that were equally as unhealthy."

Harnessing the potent fusion of powerful melodies and emotionally charged lyrics, Of Virtue maintain a steadfast commitment to authenticity, consistently redefining the genre while staying true to their artistic essence. Beyond their musical prowess, the metal powerhouse also serve as passionate mental health advocates on and off stage. Often seen using their platform to raise awareness and openly discuss these vital issues, Of Virtue have become a source of hope and inspiration for countless fans facing similar challenges.

Mixed and mastered by none other than Daniel Braunstein (known for his work with Spiritbox, The Ghost Inside, Silverstein), "Omen" is poised to leave an indelible mark on the genre as a whole. In addition to being a testament to Of Virtue's artistic evolution, "Omen" positions them for success as they embark on a triumphant European tour and Pulp Summer Slam, where they are set to share the stage with industry heavyweights Parkway Drive and Code Orange next year.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Of Virtue news coming soon.

WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING:

"Of Virtue came to impress with the release of Omen, and they delivered tenfold. Pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of hardcore and metal, Of Virtue's Omen does not disappoint. The wide range of various stylistic influences gives every type of listener something to enjoy while highlighting the band's creativity, talent, and artistry."

Music Scene Media

"In sum, "Omen" is a captivating mosaic of modern metalcore. It's an exploration of electronic-infused melodies, thunderous breakdowns, guttural roars, and relentless rhythms. Of Virtue's willingness to push boundaries and embrace experimentation shines through, making "Omen" a sonic odyssey worth embarking on."

You Make The Scene

Of Virtue's unstoppable rise continues as they secure the coveted cover spot on Spotify's "Kickass Metal" and feature prominently on Spotify's "All New Metal." The impact of their album "Omen" is undeniable, with the record reaching the Top 20 on iTunes' Rock Chart within hours of its release and earning a place in the Top 3 of US Albums.

Guitar and vocalist Damon Tate comments, "The wise Maya Angelou said, 'When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.' This is also true of drug addiction. This disease can wear many faces and often times, we choose to ignore the obvious red flags that are right in front of us. Because of our own struggles, insecurities or reasons for wanting to drown out the pain, we allow these things to have agency over our actions and our way of life, contributing to the vicious cycle that is so hard to break. It can be easy to blame the vice or behaviors for the misery that is brought in our lives. 'True Colors' is also indicative of another hard truth: What you consume, what/who you believe you are...can become your new reality and 'true' self."

ARISING EMPIRE MEDIA ALERT: Of Virtue ,Share New Video— WATCH

Michigan's Of Virtue have released their brand new single "Sober," a cautionary tale on substance abuse taken from their upcoming full-length album Omen, out September 29 via Arising Empire.

Watch the "Sober" video
Below

On the new track, the band comments, "'Sober' is a cautionary tale about the effects that addiction can have not only on the user, but friends, family or anyone that is close to them. It is hitting that 'rock bottom' with no where else to go except for finally turning over a new leaf. It can be hard to accept accountability for your actions when it has damaged so many things and make it harder to stop the self destructive behaviour that got you there in the first place."

Delving further into the deep-rooted substance abuse culture, they continue, "The substance abuse has gotten out of control and you start to see the effects it can have on not only yourself, but the ones you care about. People often distance themselves from those who display toxic behaviours and patterns out of self preservation. The song relays that the user understands this but cannot stop themselves from their own impulses and self destructive behaviours, despite the irreparable damage they are doing. Being sober requires accountability, which is only attained by taking responsibility and accepting the truth and consequences of your actions. In the end, we want to believe that if we simply stop using that all of their problems will go away — but at the same time, using seems to be the only thing that can give comfort since there is no one left to turn to."

Omen will be available in limited colored vinyl and CD, along with unique merch options at the Arising Empire online shop, Impericon, and band shop. Pre-order Omen here.

"Three years in the making and feeling as if it's the most significant one in our timeline thus far, this album was by far the most difficult to create in many more ways than one, and one of the most emotional experience for us," the band says. "Hope that it helps you through your time of need, the way it did us."

OF VIRTUE ANNOUNCE UPCOMING ALBUM OMEN  OUT SEPTEMBER 29 VIA ARISING EMPIRE

What began as a humble, promising metalcore act born from the blistering chill and barren fields of mid-Michigan has erupted into an internationally recognized and critically acclaimed act with OF VIRTUE. Playing this year's UK Tech Fest, Full Force, Summer Breeze, Fallen Fortress, 6K Fest, and Upheaval festival and accruing a staggering 7 million plus streams on their new SINNER EP on Spotify alone, Of Virtue's growth is nothing short of jaw dropping.

Today, the band is thrilled to share some incredible news.

Of Virtue will release Omen, their most ambitious and heartfelt project to date. This album represents a journey of artistic growth, experimentation, and soul-searching. Featuring the SINNER EP with eight additional tracks in total, this brand new album is all about soaring heavy anthems to fierce ballads.

Set for release on September 29, Omen will be available in limited colored vinyl and CD, along with unique merch options at the Arising Empire online shop, Impericon, and band shop.

Of Virtue were formed in 2008 and catapulted onto the Michigan metalcore scene in 2009 with their debut EP To Breathe Again. Combining elements of melodic hardcore and metalcore into a mosh-friendly and energetic amalgam, the band became a staple within its local scene. Of Virtue issued their debut full-length Heartsounds in 2011, followed by an extensive regional touring cycle. The album found the band expanding on the sound that defined its earlier effort, with lyrics speaking of positivity and determination. It was sonically vicious, yet passionate and inspiring. In 2015, the band dropped Salvation, a sprawling and ambitious example of meticulous and melodic metalcore. Third full-length What Defines You arrived in 2019. That album marked incorporation of alternative styles into a backbone of bold, robust metalcore. Even in the setting of a global pandemic, Of Virtue continued to blossom worldwide, accruing new listeners and fans, effectively expanding their reach even in a time where live performances were all but impossible.

Of Virtue Share "Cannibals" Video — WATCH

Michigan metalcore band Of Virtue serve their new single "Cannibals" via Arising Empire.

Watch the video below.

Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (August Burns Red, Polaris, Hollow Front), with additional production by Chris Shifflett, mixed and mastered by Dan Braunstein (known for his work for Spiritbox, Dayseeker, and Volumes), this new material hits the listener straight in the face.

"'Cannibals' is set during one of the most dangerous of my road to recovery from alcohol because I was finally taking accountability," says vocalist Tyler Ennis. "Before then, I had never noticed how much my choices affected the people around me. Upon reflection, I hated myself for what I had done to them. I was lying, stealing. I was erratic and unpredictable. Overall, I felt that I deserved every bad thing that happened to me. The hardest part was that I felt more worthless in my sober state than while intoxicated and it got to the point where I believed my actions were beyond forgiveness. Because of that dark time in my life, 'Cannibals' serves to remind myself that we cannot change the past but only learn from our mistakes and that we shouldn't let them shape my our of the world in a self-loathing state."

"This song is about being uncomfortable in your own skin and being so far in your own head that you allow outside factors to break you down," says vocalist Tyler Ennis. "While you may know you need to change, not knowing how, not wanting to ask for help, not allowing yourself to be vulnerable to change — all due to the fear of the unknown, the anxiety — that's what paralyzes us. This all isn't talked about enough because of guilt or shame. The last few years have been very difficult for a lot of people, including us, for this reason. So we decided to speak up in case anyone felt the same way."
