Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation Expands "It Takes Balls" Grants on World Spay Day

In celebration of World Spay Day , Feb. 25, country music icon Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation has announced the It Takes Balls campaign will focus specifically on Central, South and West Texas this year. In 2024, It Takes Balls provided grants to East Texas, North Texas and the Texas Panhandle. The initiative, which kicked off in 2023, raises awareness for the importance of spay & neuter and offers grants to qualifying low-cost programs.

“Since we launched the program in 2023, we’ve been able to help over 80 clinics with their spay & neuter programs. We started in Tennessee, then supported programs in North Texas, the Texas Panhandle and East Texas, where I was raised,” shares Lambert. “Now we want to assist spay & neuter initiatives in other parts of my home state. It’s so rewarding to know we’re helping alleviate overcrowded shelters while creating a lasting and measurable change in the quality of life for thousands of shelter pets.”

As great as most animal shelters are, they will never replace a loving home and are not equipped to handle the high number of incoming animals each year. Per the World Animal Foundation, over 6.5 million animals entered shelters in 2023 and 690,000 were euthanized, often due to lack of space. The most impactful way to reduce those numbers is through spay & neuter.

MuttNation is inviting low cost spay & neuter programs in Central Texas, South Texas and West Texas to complete and submit a grant application to help combat this ongoing issue. The application is open through March 28

Embracing the sense of freedom and the three-time GRAMMY Award-winner’s fiercely independent spirit on display in the song’s lyrics, the video directed by Kate Rentz is out now. Watch Below.

Pulled from the archives for her latest critically acclaimed album, the solo-penned song written around the time of The Weight of These Wings found its rightful home on Postcards from Texas, with MusicRow declaring, “The thrilling, pumping production sets your pulse racing. The lyric of regret, deception and escape grabs your ear. Her voice, as always, rules your heart. “I wasn’t ever ready to perform it until now,” Lambert shared of the anthem with Kelleigh Bannen on “Today’s Country Radio.” “That’s what songs are for, and you may not be ready at that one time to sing about something really raw… but then it can come back around,” adding that the song is “an admission of human error too…It’s an apology, but it’s also a resolve.”

Filmed at Don Donnelly’s D Spur Ranch & Riding Stables in Gold Canyon, Ariz., the striking desert visuals bring the vulnerable song to life with Lambert surrounded by mirrors, wildflowers and horses—including her own horse, Cool, who joined Lambert’s stable in 2024 as she embraced a new hobby of mounted shooting.

“There is always a sense of freedom when you’re on the back of a horse with the wind in your hair, so it felt really significant to have Cool with me in this video,” reflects Lambert. “I love horses because they’re a way to run to something – or away if you need to. I started riding when I turned 30 and wanted to try more things that scared me. Now horses are such a passion of mine and mounted shooting is a brand-new way to push myself and to chase that feeling of being bravely true to yourself, which is exactly what this song is about.”

Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Teams w/ Norman's Rare Guitars for Auction Benefiting Fire-Impacted CA Shelters

The most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history and one of country music’s most passionate animal advocates, Miranda Lambert, has partnered with legendary guitar dealer Norm Harris of Norman’s Rare Guitars to help Los Angeles area animal shelters with wildfire recovery.

Harris is as widely known for his compassion and generosity as he is for his knowledge of guitars, which is well-attested to in the Netflix documentary “Norman’s Rare Guitars.” He and a close friend have each donated a one-of-a-kind Gibson R9 1959 Les Paul Reissue Custom Shop Murphy Lab guitar for auction to benefit animals.

“The fires have displaced so many people and animals, and I wanted to do something that would immediately help the overcrowded animal shelters,” shared Harris. “When my friend said he wanted to buy one of these guitars – but that he didn’t want the guitar – he wanted to auction it and have the funds go support animals, I jumped right in and said I’d donate one, too. These are two incredibly special guitars, each with a slightly different finish that I hand-selected. The guitars have a value of over $8,000 each, but this is for charity, so I hope people will be generous.”

“Although I haven’t met Norm, I’ve heard about him and his guitar store for years and the next time I’m in L.A., it will be my first stop,” said Lambert. “There’s nothing better than finding another like-minded music and mutt-loving person and I’m really honored that he chose to partner with MuttNation.”

Miranda Lambert's MuttNation-Tractor Supply "Relief for Rescues" Fund Launches Annual Fundraiser; Supports SoCal Shelters Responding to Wildfires

Three-time GRAMMY winner Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation, in partnership with Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO), the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States,, announced today the return of the annual Relief for Rescues fundraising event. The Relief for Rescues Fund provides financial support for shelter animals impacted by disasters such as floods, fires, hurricanes and tornadoes.

From January 12 through 22, customers can donate to the Relief for Rescues Fund during checkout at any Tractor Supply store location, online at TractorSupply.com or via the Tractor Supply mobile app. Launched in 2023, the Fund has raised over $1 million and has already allocated over $600,000 to support shelter animals impacted by natural disasters.

Miranda Lambert & MuttNation Foundation Create Idyllwind Award to Honor Equine Rescues

Country music icon and animal advocate Miranda Lambert announces the inaugural Idyllwind Award, to be administered by her MuttNation Foundation, honoring Lucky Break Rescue in Arizona with a $25,000 donation. The Idyllwind Award, named after Lambert’s first horse, Idyllwind Ellund, will annually recognize an outstanding U.S. equine rescue or sanctuary that rehabilitates and/or rehomes horses that have been neglected, abused or abandoned, while also educating the public about the difficult conditions these horses face.

Lambert spoke about MuttNation and the Idyllwind Award at the recent taping of the Boot Barn: VOICELESS fashion show, premiering on Roku December 15 and airing on Hulu in early 2025. Boot Barn is the exclusive retailer of Lambert’s Idyllwind clothing and boot line.

“We’re so excited to be adding this new award to our MuttNation programs,” she shares. “The strong bond that horses form with people is one of the most magical – and caring for horses that have been mistreated takes a very special kind of person. Lambert, widely known as a passionate and celebrated animal advocate, has championed shelter pets her entire life. Her deep affinity and love for horses grew more serious when she began showing in 2014. In 2024, she won a Blue Ribbon at the 2024 Oklahoma State Fair for her Gypsy Vanner horses. She currently owns 7 horses, two mini horses, two dogs, and several cats, goats and chickens.

NPR’s “backbone of contemporary country music” Miranda Lambert continues the celebration of her critically acclaimed album Postcards from Texas with today’s launch of a t-shirt collection available now exclusively on Amazon. The collection, inspired by Lambert’s latest album, features unique designs that capture the essence of each track. View the collection HERE.

Each t-shirt in the collection showcases a custom-designed postcard created by artist Jenn Perman, who also previously collaborated with Lambert on her Wanda June Home line and Idyllwind clothing and boot line. Fans may recognize these postcards as the creative Easter eggs Lambert used to build anticipation for Postcards from Texas earlier this year. Before the album’s release, Lambert mailed postcards representing each song to fans, who then shared them online to unveil the album’s track list.

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund Donates $250,000 to Support Hurricane Recovery

Country music icon Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund has made initial donations totaling $250,000 to help 32 animal shelters and organizations across multiple states that were impacted by the recent hurricanes.

“Helene hit the week before our Music for Mutts benefit concert, and it only seemed right to use the event to help with hurricane recovery efforts. Then Milton came right behind it – packing a devastating one-two punch,” said Lambert. “Thankfully, and thanks to all the animal loving supporters who’ve made donations to our MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund, we were able to quickly get help where it was needed most. We know this will be a very long recovery and we’re committed to helping our four-legged friends and the people who care for them get back on their feet.”

Music for Mutts, the 15th anniversary MuttNation Foundation celebration presented by Tractor Supply, featured a memorable night of performances celebrated by Billboard for “the vocal power and camaraderie onstage” from Lambert, Little Big Town, Dan + Shay, HARDY, Riley Green, Lukas Nelson, Ashley Monroe and Natalie Hemby, in addition to a special opening set by Jake Worthington. Written by Audra Mae, Ryan Carpenter and Evan McKeever - based on a real woman-to-woman conversation between Mae and Lambert - the song arrived as the biggest-streaming debut of her 20+ year career and is now ascending the charts at country radio. The Postcards from Texas preview initially made its debut during her headlining set at Stagecoach Music Festival earlier this year, followed by the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history performing the song live during this year’s ACM Awards show, with Billboard praising the “rocking performance of the scorching woman-done-wrong’s revenge tale, electrifying the crowd.”

Miranda Lambert Previews 'Postcards from Texas' with Surprise Austin Show

When the marquee outside legendary BBQ joint and live music venue Stubb’s Austin revealed a surprise message early Friday morning – MIRANDA LAMBERT TONIGHT AT 6PM – it didn’t take long for fans to race to the downtown establishment. With the line winding around the block and reaching capacity well ahead of the time the box office opened at noon, the lucky fans who made it there first were in for an unforgettable evening with a Lone Star icon come home.

In addition to lead single “Wranglers,” liberated anthem “Dammit Randy,” humorous shuffle “Alimony” and free-spirited ballad “No Man’s Land,” fans were also treated to an early preview of several other songs off Postcards from Texas: “Bitch On The Sauce (Just Drunk),” “Looking Back On Luckenbach,” “Armadillo” and “Wildfire.”

The event marked almost exactly 20 years to the day since Lambert played her very first label showcase at Stubb’s on Aug. 28, 2004, making for a full circle homecoming as she celebrated this next chapter in music.

“I have a brand new album, and I have the same fire that I had 20 years ago at that show,” reflected the the woman celebrated by Esquire as “consistent, but never predictable” and Rolling Stone as “country’s most ambitious artist” from the stage, adding of the setting, “I love a honky tonk. It’s how I grew up. It’s in my DNA.”

Always keeping a wildcard up her sleeve, Lambert further surprised fans by inviting fellow Texans and frequent collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall (her Big Loud Texas label imprint partner and Postcards coproducer) to join for a few songs from their GRAMMY-nominated West Texas acoustic album, The Marfa Tapes, including fan-favorite hit “Tequila Does.”

With less than a month until the Sept. 13 arrival of her Republic Records debut, recorded just across the river from Stubb’s at Austin’s famed Arlyn Studios, the intimate concert in the heart of the Lone Star State served as the ultimate celebration of the 14-song musical tribute to Lambert’s beloved home state.

Following the recent release of her tongue-in-cheek, honky tonk shuffle “Alimony,” Miranda Lambert takes a vulnerable and reflective turn with today’s release of “No Man’s Land” off her upcoming debut for Republic Records, Postcards from Texas, arriving Sept. 13.

Cowritten with frequent collaborator Luke Dick (“Bluebird,” “Actin’ Up,” “Settling Down”), the evocative ballad showcases Lambert’s unmatched ability to weave narratives of independence and self-discovery, painting a vivid picture of a woman who embodies both the wild beauty of untamed landscapes and the fierce independence of a life lived on her own terms.
