Iodine to Release Drought's Debut "EP" This June

"With a sonic palette pulling from both classic screamo and post-hardcore, Drought are clearly aiming to capture a certain spirit." — No Echo

DROUGHT believe a better world is possible.

The Bay Area band pulls inspiration from their personal lives and the spaces the members inhabit, harkening back to the intimate DIY spaces where communities are built and confessional songwriting meets crowds that take part in their emotional catharsis. Their spirited performances have fostered new fans across the West Coast.

This quintet of hardcore veterans formed in 2022, pulling from their diverse musical influences and ethnic identities to push a familiar sound in new directions. Although some members spent over a decade away from music, they were magnetically drawn back in!

Their debut, the 3-song EP, recorded with Ryan Ellery (Mom Jeans, Self Defense Family), was issued digitally. Now, it will be released in physical form for the first time ever on June 14 via Iodine Recordings. It will be limited to 300 copies. Pre-order EP here

"This EP is an ode to transformation and growth," the band shares. "None of us are the traditional preachy or dogmatic hardcore kids — we've had our own inner demons. So we wrote these songs for our younger selves. To let us know it's okay to be imperfect. And that the promise of a safer, more inclusive DIY scene is only possible if we can reflect, grow, and change. A better world is possible and it begins at home."

EP explores the struggles of loss and the rites of adulthood in increasingly precarious times. The band wrote "Oh Javelin," for instance, while guitarist RJ Rabe was battling cancer and drummer Ray Avila's father was ill, grappling with the existential question of how we spend our short lives.

Upon digital release in 2023, the three-track EP turned more than a few heads with its familiar-yet-wholly-new stylings perfect for fans of bands like Touché Amoré, Piano Becomes the Teeth, and mewithoutYou.

"When I was young, nothing felt more comforting than playing a record, poring over the liner notes and feeling less alone," says vocalist Viggy Ram. "And while releasing it digitally was exciting, it felt fleeting. When someone gets a record or goes to a show, you're actually giving your art to them—the ephemeral becomes real. With this vinyl release, we hope these songs keep you company when you need them to."

Levels Announce "Pulse" EP + Share "Siren Hymn" Video

SharpTone Records recently welcomed Central Arkansas-based quartet Levels — Kolby Carignan [vocals], Jager Felice [guitar], Jacob Hubbard[bass], and Dalton Kennerly [drums] — to its global roster.

Today, Levels are pleased to announce the new Pulse EP. It arrives on February 2. Pre-order it
here.

The band has also shared the new song "
Siren Hymn." Watch the video below.

"'Siren Hymn' tells a story about the deep affection a person can have toward a significant other," the band states. "If you've ever experienced the bliss and the feelings that come along with entering and sustaining a loving experience, then you will relate to this track. The song displays the absolute highest of highs that two souls can reach together as one."

Since emerging in 2016, Levels have consistently challenged themselves and the culture of heavy music. Following the 2018 release of the self-titled Levels LP, their signature style evolved across fan favorite singles such as "Encapsulate," "Eon," and "Chauvinist," which amassed over 649K Spotify streams and counting. Along the way, the band performed alongside everyone from VRSTY and Glass Hands to Beartooth, The Devil Wears Prada, Oceano, and more. The band also powered this rise in D.I.Y. fashion, recording, mixing, and producing the songs and shooting and even editing their own videos. During 2023, they entered KonKrete Studios with producer Jonathan Dolese to record new music. The musicians channeled inspirations as diverse as Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, The Prodigy, Poppy, and Static-X in addition to jungle, trance, and house.

THE FRONTMEN'S ICONIC HITMAKING VOICES RETURN TO THE MAINSTREAM ON NEW EP, FAMILIAR FACES

FAMILIAR FACES, produced by two-time GRAMMY-nominated Mickey Jack Cones, features three original songs, as well as three Lonestar, Little Texas and Restless Heart No. 1 hits, re-recordedFrontmen-style. The trio tag team lead vocals throughout the EP.

"We’re excited to finally get to share our new music with the world,” says McDonald. “Seems we’ve been working towards this moment for the better part of fifteen years. I guess good things do come to those who wait.”

The original songs on the project include the new track “I Need You,” alongside previously released songs “It Was Always You” and “Left Their Mark,” all hand-picked by the trio and Cones. Tune in on Monday, November 20 to iHeartRadio's Bobby Bones Show as the trio will join Bobby in studio to discuss the project.

“Since our first Navy / USO shows over 12 years ago, I’ve always felt there was something special about the three of our voices together,” explains Rushlow. “Getting the chance to finally show what we sound like collectively is a thrill. I love the authenticity and honesty in this music. Mickey Jack climbed aboard and became the fourth member as we all collaborated on this project. These songs have been impacting audiences in concert for a while, so we’re very excited to see it released.”

Classic tunes on the EP are songs most will instantly recognize: Lonestar's “Amazed (The Frontmen Edition),” Little Texas' “God Blessed Texas (The Frontmen Edition)” and Restless Heart's “I’ll Still Be Loving You (The Frontmen Edition).”

“To have this opportunity to share brand new music with music fans all over the world is just amazing,” adds Stewart. “Tim, Richie and I have created a bond in music that we can’t wait to share with country music fans of all ages. These new songs mean a lot to us and hope fans everywhere enjoy our latest new single release ‘I Need You’ along with the new re-records of our big hits on the Familiar Faces EP.”

Manchester synthwave artist Richard Evans presents retro-futuristic 'Dream of the World' EP, inspired by a close brush with mortality

"A beautiful performance" ~ The Guardian

"While new wave has been around for quite some time, Richard Evans cleverly summons all the best elements of the genre, tastefully packaging them with thoughtful lyrics in a way that is completely fresh and forever young" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Commendable, not only for its allure and catchiness (with elements of Rational Youth, Pet Shop Boys and Jean-Michel Jarre), but also for taking on such topical subject matter as technogenic disaster, environmental devastation and our skewed outlook on our dire prospects as Earth's inhabitants" ~ Ampify Music Magazine

"A standout musical event" ~ The State of the Arts

Manchester-based synthwave artist
Richard Evans presents his new retro-futuristic EP 'Dream of the World', released via Cold Star Media. Recorded at Cold Star Studios in July 2023, the inspiring title track is about remaining positive even in the darkest times, as reflected in the accompanying video.

A British-Irish electronic musician, writer and digital media artist, Evans was previously keyboardist in UK cult band
James, with whom he also co-wrote and recorded material. Previous to that, he was also guitarist and songwriter for St. Vitus Dancers.

Richard Evans' draws inspiration from real-world science, exploring biotechnology, machine intelligence and the environment. For this album, existing songs were refined and new material was written, combining the warmth of classic synths with pared-down lyrics that explore real-world subject matter.

This
3-track EP follows Evans' 2022 debut record 'Sentinel'. This electro-pop concept album explores micro-plastics, gene editing, stardust, technogenic disasters, human evolution, among other themes, this superb eight-track collection telling the story of humanity at a tipping point and a world trapped in a climate crisis.

"'Dream Of The World' is a call to action in the face of an unrelenting climate crisis and, on a personal level, it reflects on a health situation that affected me in late 2022. I was diagnosed with Miller Fisher Syndrome, a rare auto-immune disorder that impacts around one in a million people each year and is a variant of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. I found parallels between the life-threatening aspects of the climate crisis and a condition which decimated nearly all of my body’s functions," says Richard Evans.

"I literally woke up one morning in the midst of losing all muscle control. Over the course of a single day, I became unable to open my eyes, to sit, stand or walk, even to eat or swallow food. I was hospitalised for a month and for the first 10 days of this stay, there was a real risk of respiratory failure. Alongside a treatment plan, I kept going with positive visualisations, mentally depicting future times when I would be well again. If nothing else, this practice helped me find the strength to endure the most challenging experience of my life."

Evans adds, "Once I was released from hospital, music became an important part of my recovery - learning to sing and play keyboards again helped me regain control of my arms, hands and facial muscles. For a long time I had double vision and didn’t have the concentration to work on a computer. However I could play piano for short periods and was able to resume some vocal work after a couple of months. This phase created an unexpected change in my writing process, which previously was built around riffs and sequences developed on a computer. 'Dream Of The World' was composed entirely with piano and voice."

Continuing on from the 'Sentinel' album, the song
'Dream Of The World' reflects how the climate emergency is met with procrastination and indifference from most governments and corporations, as if the switch to zero carbon is somehow beyond human control. The lyrics are also about facing mortality on a personal level, with Evans singing, "I won’t bow to the hand of fate", emphasizing that we don’t always have to accept the hand we’re dealt.

With the sonically hypnotic effect of its single sequence and drum pattern,
'2084' is about those who deny science and convince others of a different reality, underscored by the lyris "Hear the priests lie that black is white".

'Motherlode' is a previously unreleased track, recorded during the 'Sentinel' sessions in 2021. It's about the phenomena of algorithmic trading - flash trades - and how ‘the market’ advances in cities worldwide each day to relentlessly exploit planetary resources.

Richard Evans' output extends well beyond the musical realm. He recently received a New Ideas Fund award from Creative UK to develop a virtual production studio. The award supports content for future stage shows and a new sci-fi short film, called 'DeepSleep', which was written and directed by Richard and is due for release in 2024.

Since the early 1980s, Evans' independent creative projects have received nine awards from Arts Council England and a separate one from Creative England, in addition to being commissioned for various projects by the University of Manchester and the Manchester Science Festival.

Evans also wrote, directed and produced
the science fiction drama 'AEON'. An author of many short stories, he also published the novel 'KOSMONAUT ZERO' (via Dead Ink), researched at Star City Cosmonaut Training Centre. He also oversaw the 'Gagarin 50' exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the first human spaceflight by Yuri Gagarin.

As of October 17, 'Dream of the World' is available
everywhere online and can be obtained directly from the artist via Bandcamp, where the 'Sentinel' album can also be obtained.

On Thursday, November 23, Richard will perform extracts from 'Sentinel' at the Prism Winter Festival at Waterside, Sale, Manchester. Recordings of the live performance will then feature throughout the festival on November 24 and 25. This first outdoor presentation of 'Sentinel' involves the visuals being projected onto the exterior of the Waterside building.

Singer-Songwriter Milky Day Releases Emotionally Charged EP Impulses

Milky Day, the talented singer-songwriter and producer known for his unique blend of R&B and soulful melodies, has released his highly anticipated EP, Impulses. Accompanying the release, Milky has launched the presale for his first Vinyl, which you can purchase here while supplies last. An EP that was primarily written during Covid isolation; Impulses is not only a reflection of internal conflict and struggles, it's also a project written from the perspective of Milky reflecting on all the craziness of the world, from the "window" of his trapped environment. As the world grappled with unprecedented challenges during the pandemic, he goes back and forth between tracks and even sometimes within a single

track, talking specifically about his personal struggles and then switching the narrative to a much larger questioning of purpose and existence. Inspired by raw honesty and life's inevitable struggles, this body of work presents a departure from Milky Day's classic themes of love, instead offering an emotionally charged exploration of life's complexities and challenges.

At the heart of this exploration is the EP’s focus track, "Temptation," which represents the above mentioned perspective within the opening line; "Waiting for better days.” The overall lyrics hint at a dialogue with oneself, questioning if he can be greater than his past self, battling the desire for growth while being trapped in a dark path. This track serves as a powerful introduction to the overarching theme of the EP - grappling with impulses and their consequences. "Aura" delves into the actions taken as a result of these urges, and it unravels the internal struggle between fleeting desires and the longing for stability and self-control. The haunting and poignant "Losing My Grip" follows, shedding light on the aftermath of impulsive decisions. Milky Day's soulful vocals resonate deeply, expressing the sense of loss and confusion that arises when one feels disconnected from life's purpose and meaning. "Rest in Peace" reflects on the transformation and growth that occurs when one decides to break free from the grip of impulsive tendencies, letting go of one's old self and embracing new beginnings. Finally, the EP concludes with the uplifting track "So Good." In this song, Milky Day explores the idea of finding peace with his mind, bidding farewell to negative thoughts, and embracing a brighter future. The song's cheerful vibe towards the end indicates a sense of hope and resolution after the tumultuous journey through impulses and self-discovery.

"Through my observations and life experiences, I realized that everyone struggles with their own inner demons in some shape or form - so I've been exploring more general themes of life struggles and suffering through my music, as you'll hear in my upcoming EP," says Milky Day, shedding light on the inspiration behind Impulses. With Impulses, Milky Day seeks to raise awareness about the shared nature of life's struggles and offer solace to those facing similar challenges. Through his candid and soul-baring approach, he aims to connect with his audience on a profound level, letting them know that they are not alone in their battles and that healing is possible.

Hailing from New Zealand and educated at Amherst College in the United States, where he graduated with a double major in Math and Music, Milky Day is a rising star in the R&B scene. His technical prowess in music production, influenced by his mathematical background, is a testament to his commitment to his craft. Simultaneously, his exceptional songwriting skills showcase his boundless creativity and ability to connect with his audience. Milky Day has released several popular tracks, including "You'll Be Alright" and "Take it Slow," which have gained significant traction on streaming

platforms, with over 47 million combined plays on Spotify alone. Stay tuned for more updates on Milky Day's musical journey and join him as he fearlessly bares his soul through his heartfelt compositions.

MULTI #1 COUNTRY-ROCKER TYLER FARR REDNECKS LIKE ME EP OUT NOW

Multi #1 Country-rocker Tyler Farr today releases his latest southern-rooted project Rednecks Like Me via Broken Bow Records/Night Train Records. Produced by Jason Aldean with his long-time band-members Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy, the country-to-the bone EP flaunts Farr’s signature raspy vocals and is a swift return to the sound that initially propelled him to redneck stardom. Listen HERE.

"This is the first project I’ve co-written all the songs on, so this is a big step in my career for me," said Farr. "I’m so proud of this album as it showcases my evolution as a singer/songwriter and I can’t wait for fans to hear it."

Heading back to his rough and rowdy ways, Rednecks Like Me features six new songs, including Farr’s latest focus track “Rednecks Like Me,” which All Country News deemed “a page out of a country boy’s journal.”

The EP includes boot-stomping jams like “Tell You ‘Bout That,” a southern rocker delivered in Farr’s trademark raspy sound, telling of his proficiency in the country boy world. “Silverado Gold” is a smoothly-delivered song that makes you want to spin around in a headlight glow and tells the story of memories that keep on shining like Silverado gold.

“First Rodeo” is an emotive track with an undeniable beat, evoking imagery of a former love riding off into the sunset. The deeply personal “Questions” is a beautifully melodious ode, offering a rare glimpse into Farr’s life as the father of a little girl.

Rounding out the EP is “true-blue country jam” (Country Swag) “Country As Shit” featuring multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll that Taste of Country declared “a summer-ready ode to windows-down, mud-crusted, beer-soaked fun in the country…offering scorching celebrations of life in the backwoods, checking off all the boxes for what it means to really party in the country.”

A professionally trained opera singer, declared “one of the best male vocalists in country music today” (Taste of Country), Farr was the first artist signed to Jason Aldean’s Night Train Records/BBR Music Group. Breaking onto the scene in 2013 with his riotous #1 hit “Redneck Crazy,” the platinum-selling artist has scored three #1s (including "Whiskey In My Water" and “A Guy Walks Into A Bar”), scored two Top 5 albums on Billboard’s 200 chart, been honored as a New Face at Country Radio Seminar and been nominated for Music Row’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

About Tyler Farr:

“One of the best male vocalists in Country music today” (Taste of Country), Tyler Farr is the first artist signed to Jason Aldean’s Night Train Records/BBR Music Group. The Country-rocker, with three No.1 songs to his credit (“Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water,” and “A Guy Walks Into a Bar”) broke onto the scene with the 2013 release of his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200. Farr’s Platinum-selling title-track “Redneck Crazy” projected Farr forward to celebrate back-to-back No. 1 singles, including his first No. 1 as a songwriter, with his Platinum-certified hit “Whiskey in my Water.” His sophomore album, Suffer In Peace, followed suit, also making its debut in the Top 5 on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums and Billboard Country Albums Charts, leading Farr to become the only solo male Country artist in the past decade to have their first two studio albums debut in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart. Known for his love for our military and his passion for the outdoors and recognized as a 2014 CRS New Faces of Country Radio and 2014 Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” nominee, the opera-trained singer quickly earned coveted slots touring with Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Combs, Brantley Gilbert and Lee Brice. The Missouri native’s dry wit, silly antics and reputation as “a no-frills musician who pours his drinks as hard as he pours his heart into his songs,” (Rolling Stone), led to the star’s riotous social following of fans eager for his next move. After releasing “true-blue country jam” (Country Swag) “Country As Shit,” featuring multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll that Taste of Country declared “a summer-ready ode to windows-down, mud-crusted, beer-soaked fun in the country,” Farr heads back to his rough and rowdy ways with his latest Aldean-produced EP, Rednecks Like Me, out now.

Jame's Elsewhere Announce "Paradise" EP + Share "Escapist" Video — WATCH

JAMIE'S ELSEWHERE, featuring Of Mice & Men vocalist/bassist Aaron Pauley, have announced their new Paradise EP, out July 19 via SharpTone Records. It's the first new material from the band in nearly a decade. Pre-order the EP here.

Today, the band has shared the new single "Escapist." Watch the video
below.

'We're thrilled to announce that we've signed with SharpTone Records, and excited to announce the release our first single 'Escapist' from our new EP Paradise," says Pauley. "This new chapter of the band has been years in the making, and we're so excited to be teaming up with the talented and creative minds at SharpTone Records to bring these songs, and this story, to our fans all around the world — both old fans and new!"

Following nine years of dormancy, Jamie's Elsewhere couldn't simply return with simply songs. Instead, they swing for the fences and speak to multiple senses all at once with the Paradise EP. The California quartet — the aforementioned Pauley [vocals], Matt Scarpelli [guitar], Chance Medeiros [bass], and Mike Spearman [keys] — expand their vision like never before with an arresting narrative set to a soundtrack of emotionally charged heavy music underscored by cinematic electronics, soaring melodies, jarring hardcore, and moments of unpredictable sonic bludgeoning. After carving out a niche and generating tens of millions of streams, the group pull audiences into an all-encompassing and entrancing soundscape.

"The concept follows a protagonist through the day-to-day grind," Pauley notes. "He discovers Paradise, which is a metaverse where you can upload your soul. It was a tongue-in-cheek way for us to label a dystopian A.I. The irony is hopping on the internet could never be a real paradise. We went really deep in terms of the story and lyrics."

Following their emergence in 2005, Jamie's Elsewhere quietly attracted a devout audience via a series of EPs and fan-favorite albums, namely Guidebook for Sinners Turned Saints [2008] and They Said a Storm Was Coming [2010]. Along the way, the band toured with everyone from Motionless In White and Memphis May Fire to Ice Nine Kills. Assuming lead vocal and bass duties for Of Mice & Men during 2012, Pauley initially parted ways with Jamie's Elsewhere. 2014 saw the group drop Rebel-Revive highlighted by "Empty Eyes" [feat. Garrett Rapp of The Color Morale] and "The Illusionist" [feat. Tyler Carter of Issues], which amassed over 6.2 million Spotify streams. On the eve of the tenth anniversary of The Said A Storm Was Coming, Spearman caught an Of Mice & Men gig, and conversations about reviving Jamie's Elsewhere began in earnest. Those conversations morphed into writing sessions and the rest, as they say, is history and here we are.

Ian Munsick Shares Stripped-Down Tracks from "White Buffalo" on "Me and a Fiddle" EP, Out Now

Whether bathed in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains or illuminated by the spotlight at CMA Fest’s Nissan Stadium, Ian Munsick is perhaps most at home when it’s just him and a fiddle. Today he shares five stripped-down tracks from his critically acclaimed album White Buffalo on the Me and a Fiddle EP (listen HERE). Intimate live performance videos of each track take the viewer to the majestic landscape of Sun Valley, Idaho alongside Munsick and violinist Tim Hayes (watch Below).

“Country music is at its finest when you strip it down. All the best songs translate the same (if not better) when all the noise is muted and it’s just a voice and one instrument. Well… maybe two instruments, cuz you know I gotta have a fiddle," shares Munsick. "I believe these five stripped versions from White Buffalo will take you right into my childhood living room in Wyoming where I fell in love with songwriting in the first place. Back where it all began. Just me and a fiddle.”

Hailed “Western music royalty” by The Tennessean, the Wyoming native earned accolades from Billboard, American Songwriter, GRAMMY.com, MusicRow and more for his 18-song sophomore album White Buffalo. Holler declared, “Through Munsick’s carefully crafted new project, you can experience the emotional ebbs and flows of the Green River, feel the highs and lows of the Grand Teton and witness the wild, free-spirited euphoria of a band of mustangs riding off into the sunset.” “Long Live Cowgirls,”the album’s celebrated duet with Cody Johnson, has earned more than 100 MILLION streams and been certified Gold by the RIAA.

Fans can see Munsick and a fiddle – and a whole lot more – at fairs and festivals throughout the summer. He will join Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour on Aug. 11 (Ohio Stadium) and Aug. 30 (PNC Park) before heading out this fall on his own headlining The Buffalo Roams Tour. About Ian Munsick:
A native son of Wyoming, Ian Munsick is painting a stampeding, spirited portrait of the American West with his sophomore albumWhite Buffalo, out now. The 18-track album spans unfiltered tales of romance and ranch life, hard-working anthems with honkytonk hooks and mountain-time odes to family and forever-young fun. It builds upon the spacious roots-pop beauty he introduced on his major label debut, Coyote Cry. Over the past three years, the 30-year-old has accumulated nearly half a billion global streams and a host of accolades. He has been named an “Artist to Watch” by Spotify, CMT, Fender, MusicRow and more. A seasoned entertainer, having grown up tending cattle by day and playing music in a family band each night, Munsick toured recently alongside country music superstars Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnson. Beyond his noteworthy professional accomplishments, he has also become both a husband and a father. Now the Warner Music Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is representing his home, and its special cast of people, like never before. The first release from White Buffalo, standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” (with Cody Johnson), hit No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown, was named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022 and recently received RIAA Gold-certification alongside “Long Haul” off his debut album Coyote Cry. Recently making her debut in the GRAMMYS Press Play Series, XTIE is back to celebrate her 3 year music journey where she’s been writing, producing, and performing. APOLLO-23" is an ode to her journey as an artist, a celebration of her creativity and passion, and a testament to her “cosmic pop” sound. APOLLO-23 delves into XTIE's exploration of life, the universe, and the relationship between humanity and nature. Using the Greek myth, APOLLO is the God of Sun and Light, Music and dance, XTIE wishes to take you onboard onto her spaceship and enjoy a journey of self-discovery, self love, and she hopes her songs can be a beam of sunlight into listeners’ life. Despite our lack of understanding about ourselves, we are always curious about the world beyond our planet. In reality, we can board our own spaceship and explore ourselves, our life, our bodies, the world we inhabit, time, and embrace what we already have.

With all 8 tracks written and produced by XTIE, each one was crafted with care and attention to detail. Focus track #5, “#FF,” stands for final fantasy and is an Anthem of Independence for those who need it. XTIE explains “it’s about realizing that your love to yourself is more important than relying on other people's love. I don't need to romanticize this toxic situation, I just need to walk away and celebrate my independence and self love.” “Flower Town” sets the EP’s tone with its dreamy, ethereal sound and lyrics that speak of longing and yearning. “Spaceship” is a catchy, pop-infused tune that's impossible not to sing along to, while “Skin” is a haunting, melancholic ballad that will leave you feeling raw and vulnerable. “Skin” (under the skin ver.) is a bonus track only available by purchasing a physical album. It’s a re-imagined live recording version of XTIE’s new arrangement. Track #6, “麥田看守 員” (Field of Gold), is sang in Cantonese and an ode to XTIE’s hometown of Hong Kong. With lyrics about being thankful for what you already have and not chasing something that isn’t meant for you, XTIE wrote this as a “thank you” to her supporters throughout the years.

Hailing from Hong Kong, XTIE is an independent artist that self-produces, writes, arranges, and performs her own songs. Already having garnered support from Recording

Academy, Earmilk, Wonderland Magazine, Billboard ID, MTV Asia, BBC Radio, NOTION and more. Her singles have charted and peaked at No.1 across radio stations in Hong Kong and Taiwan. XTIE recently played at Ear Up Music Festival 2023 at Macpherson Stadium and a sold-out headline concert in Hong Kong. Making her first overseas appearance in the UK playing at London, Brighton and Wrexham, XTIE was featured at music festivals like FOCUS Wales and The Great Escape in May. MTV Asia praised XTIE stating; "Not only gifted with warm jazz-tinged vocals, she also writes, arranges, produces, and performs her songs that are shimmering." Earmilk raved about her previous release; "XTIE continues to set herself up as a promising talent in the industry with her flair for transportive productions." Apart from her releases as an artist, her production credits include stellar-level acts and TV shows from Hong Kong, including but not limited to: Janice Vidal, Alfred Hui, ViuTV King Maker IV, (a girl group idol competition) etc. XTIE is also currently writing and producing for A-Pop / K-pop markets as well. Aptly describing her music as “cosmic pop”, the Hong Kong producer-singer weaves shimmer yet sophisticated pop beats with candid stories about the universe.

MOODRING Announce "YOUR LIGHT FADES AWAY" EP + Share "WOULDYOUWAITFORME?" — LISTEN🌟

Florida-via-Atlanta alt-metal band MOODRING are pleased to announce their forthcoming EP, titled YOUR LIGHT FADES AWAY. It arrives on July 14 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

To herald the new EP, the band has shared the visualizer for the new single "
WOULDYOUWAITFORME?" Watch and listen below. The song epitomizes the band's patented push and pull energy — where chunky guitar riffs collide with dreamy soundscapes, layered vocals, and thick grooves. The track manages to straddle the line between anthemic and pit-ready with an effortless grace that is isn't normally expected among such down-tuned nastiness.

"A song about the fragile fibers pulled taut between opposing feelings," says singer Hunter Young. "It's a love song about hating to love and loving to hate, devoted to a toxic desire which remains constant even though it suffocates and consumes. The song reflects these contrasts in its mashing of sultry, sensual melodies with high angst and screaming desperation."

He furthers, "We really wanted to push ourselves to experiment with vocals on these new songs, and find a way to work our signature chorus hook in amongst new approaches to melody and aggression. And the fact that it was written whilst Hurricane Ian raged literally outside the studio windows very likely contributed to the stormy, dramatic tones and emotions within the track."

ABOUT MOODRING:
Moodring previously released the full length album Stargazer in June 2021. The album was soaked and splattered with shades of crimson, black, and blue. It explored themes of pain and loss, sex and addiction, love and death against a gloriously patchwork musical backdrop. Moodring mix swaths of moody, '90s grunge and thunderous, '00s hard rock into a unique and unforgettable sonic blend. Ultimately, Stargazer served as a sonic document about letting go and giving in — letting go of trauma and pain and giving into temptation, vices, and the void.

TEETH - DEBUT EP A BIBLICAL WORSHIP OF VIOLENCE OUT NOW + VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE ‘WE EAT OUR YOUNG’

The volatile powerhouse that is Ontario, Canada’s hardcore/metal quintet TEETH have emerged from the sludge of a foul generation - a vessel whose sole purpose is to create the most assailing, aggressive music imaginable. Born from illegal back-alley shows that resulted in literal fires, TEETH has come off a string of sold-out - and absolutely vicious - headliners while independently amassing over 1 million streams, gaining recognition from metal titans SLIPKNOT and deathcore innovators EMMURE. TEETH is just getting started, and they’re playing for keeps.

Today marks the release of the bands debut EP A Biblical Worship Of Violence - now available digitally via Nuclear Blast Records - accompanied by a video for their new single  "We Eat Our Young", animated by Sam Beck (Spite, Carnifex). The vinyl format will be shipped on July 21st.

Watch "We Eat Our Young'" below

Stream the EP A Biblical Worship Of Violence here: http://teeth.bfan.link/a-biblical-worship-of-violence

Vocalist Blake Louis Prince states, "'We Eat Our Young' structurally came out all at once - I was pretty heated at that moment in time - feeling a lot of "fuck you" energy - and it just felt like a lot of fire. It's sort of a trance or hyperfocus state for me - then it's over”

"'We Eat Our Young' is a representation of how so many of us battle with ourselves internally" comments Chris LeMasters. "It’s the dichotomy of feeling guilt while being frustrated and hostile toward those very feelings”.

A Biblical Worship of Violence was recorded at Bell Tower Studios - directly across the river from Buffalo, NY - home to hardcore juggernauts EVERY TIME I DIE. Davis Maxwell and the band were responsible for producing and engineering the record while Lance Prenc(ALPHA WOLF, POLARIS, VOID OF VISION) handled mixing and mastering. The album art/layout was created by Heavy Sleeper Co

The band states, "A Biblical Worship Of Violence is our ode to the ache of change - a snapshot of a moment in time where we were all going through dark shifts in our personal lives that forced us to see life through the lens of true pain and discomfort. We knew we needed to create something so visceral and honest to articulate what we’d been going through while also giving us the opportunity to speak on the state of this world. Division, compulsion - an intrinsic gravitational pull toward cruelty and brutality. ABWOV is a commentary on human beings darkest, most volatile conventions."

A Biblical Worship Of Violence will be available as a red with black splatter vinyl on July 21st!

TEETH will be on tour supporting this release in 2023, so keep your eye out for new international tour dates soon.

Outlaw Pop Artist DEVORA Shares New EP ‘God Is Dead’, announces tour dates with Bush

With influences that range from Nine Inch Nails to Dolly Parton, and a touch of Lana Del Rey thrown in for good measure – genre bending Outlaw Pop artist DEVORA has released a new EP "God Is Dead" via Tiger Tone Records / [PIAS].  She is also slated to tour with Bush in February (dates below).

The EP contains four songs, with previously unreleased track "Bonesaw" leading the way. DEVORA says of the ominously enchanting track: “Bonesaw” is about a night in a motel room gone wrong, in a dark direction. It’s a voyeuristic impression of the lines between romance and impulse being heavily blurred. The song opens with seemingly illusive pretty snapshots of an all-American day dream, but progressively turns morose and ends with a bonesaw left in the motel room sink. I used to read a lot of medical textbooks as a hobby and one of the surgical tools from the civil war era, the bonesaw, always intrigued me. I have a couple of vintage ones at home”. The music video was directed by Felicity Jayn Heath.

She continues: “A lot of my songs take place in motel rooms. There’s something really macabre and eerily temporary about a motel room where, for essentially 24 hours, you can be whoever you want to be in that room sealed and removed from the outside world... It’s like your own revolving set. What happens in that room stays in that room. A lot of serial killers have set up shop in motel rooms and I know I’ve definitely walked into some gnarly motel rooms where I’ve gotten hit with this feeling - like getting punched in the gut, where I've started to put the pieces together that something really messed up must have happened in this room… “Bonesaw” is all of the above”.

The EP, produced by Alex Aldi (Passion Pit, Holy Ghost!) and Cass Dillon (Goo Goo Dolls, Grey Daze) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck), is a collection of stories Inspired by true events that paint a picture of a modern Wild West culture. The songs are a haunting ode to the dark side of the American Dream. Gone are the days of the white-picket fences and beauty pageant queens; they’ve left long ago and made way for a new form of cultural anarchy, non-conformist beliefs and a generation of outlaws like DEVORA.

DEVORA’s debut EP, Outlaw, celebrated life in the fast lane, offering an inner glimpse into a mad world of exile and rebellion, love and lawlessness. It was her first installment of a fierce collective of stories and art that illustrate a perfect portrait of her dark wild west. The EP saw support at radio, peaking top five on the SubModern Commercial Specialty Charts, and press write-ups at places like AltPress, INKED, and Earmilk. DEVORA has amassed more than 3 million cumulative audio streams of her music to date. She has been honing her live show chops with solo dates in the Southern California area, along with direct support dates on a national tour with The Warning in the spring of 2022.

Tiger Tone Records was welcomed into the [PIAS] family in late 2020 and puts them among the company of revered indie labels such as Transgressive, Heavenly Recordings and Bella Union. Tony Hoffer is celebrated for an illustrious career spanning decades working with distinguished artists such as M83, Phoenix, Beck, The Kooks, The Snuts and many more.

Savage Hands Announce "Rock Bottom" EP + Share "Angel Dust" — LISTEN

Savage Hands, a hard rock group hailing from the Maryland and Virginia area of the U.S., will release the Rock Bottom EP via SharpTone Records on April 7.

Today, the band has shared the new single "Angel Dust." Listen below.

"'Angel Dust' is just about going for something in life, no matter what kind of hurt you go through in the process," the band says. "We've all worked a job, dated a significant other, or have been involved in some type of scenario that probably weighs down on our mental health or physical health. This song mainly is a representation of a sort of 'lust' we feel trying to achieve greatness from whatever it is we desire — not giving in to the 'red flags' and pushing through them as if the end goal is going to change the outcome."

As for the EP, vocalist Michael Garrow explains, "When people read the word 'rock bottom,' they typically associate it with something that's super negative. In this sense, we're using it as if it's just where we come from. We come from a low point in the industry, as everyone else does… and we want to make it known that we're proud of where we came from and we love the grind. It takes a lot to be a musician these days and we're proud of the things we had to do and will continue to do to keep getting our music into new ears. It's celebrating the small victories and respecting the long game."

"Welcome Home Part 3' was super fun to write because all three of the tracks ultimately sound so different from one another," Varela states. "I also worked with other writers, such as Charlotte Sands, for the first time. That experience was sick! It helped to unearth a creative side that I didn't even know I had."

The band also shared an unofficial and intimate performance video for "D34D." Watch it Below and witness Varela's intensity as a performer and the song's melodic heft.

The 3-song EP features a trio of brand new songs. It follows 'Welcome Home Part 2', which is a Spanish-language version of songs from the band's latest album 'Welcome Home', which is out now.

ABOUT VRSTY:

'Welcome Home' is the band's debut full length for the label and follows last year's breakthrough 'Cloud City' EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles "Shameless" and "Massive." The latter was the most played on SiriusXM's Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020.

VRSTY have perfected their seamless and fearless cross-pollination of metallic grooves and R&B-influenced, after midnight vocal swagger on this 14-track offering. VRSTY aren't just offering their own take on a genre; they have authored a fusion style that is entirely their own.

"'Welcome Home' is an incredibly personal album to me," Varela shares. "I know everybody says that, and hey, maybe they're not lying when they do. I sure as hell am not. It was definitely a task, at first, trying to figure out how to phrase or sing something without getting too personal. But somewhere along the way, I threw that idea out the window and decided to say exactly what I felt. You won't find me trying to sound cool or using any fancy wordplay. It's just me in my rawest form, saying exactly what I've felt or experienced over the years, which is what has made me who I am today. I think if anybody ever wants to get to know me, this record will give you everything you need to know. No secrets. Just me."

Minneapolis powerpop/ indie rock artist The Persian Leaps presents 'Alright Alright', previewing 'Machines For Living' EP

"Silky fuzz and solid hooks echo The Smiths, Orange Juice and Teenage Fanclub with great enthusiasm... celestial guitar jangle" NME Magazine

"A little bit of R.E.M., a little bit Lemonheads. A dash of The Smiths, a hint of The Replacements... all-reaching, down to earth, good American indie rock" ~ Spill Magazine

"Unpretentious and infectious... vast riffs, euphonious vocals and pop sensibility. captivatingly pleasurable blustery indie rock"Louder Than War

"Truncated treatises in big-guitar post-punk power-pop" The Big Takeover

"Huge riffs echoing through your speakers, melodious vocals and the sort of pop sensibility we’ve come to expect from bands like Nada Surf"Austin Town Hall

Midwestern power pop / indie rock outfit The Persian Leaps presents the single 'Alright Alright', the second taster of their new 'Machines for Living' EP, to be released on October 7 via Land Ski Records.

Based in Minneapolis, The Persian Leaps surrounds principal songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Drew Forsberg, who came up with the band's name in college while daydreaming through his Greek Archaeology class. Writing solo under that name for years, he finally assembled a band in 2012.

Forsberg explains "This song is about people who thrive on conflict. They’ve always existed, but it’s so much worse in the digital age when people can post inflammatory statements with total anonymity–or at least not say things directly to someone’s face. This song is for people who hang out online in the Comments section."

Following the powerful lead track 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget', which was written and performed by Jon Asher (Drew's uncle) and folk/rock superstar Dan Fogelberg under the name The Coachmen. a local opener for bands like The Who and The Hollies, whose only recorded output was a 45 released on Ledger Records in 1967 with this track as the A-side.

The latest in a fruitful string of releases, The Persian Leaps released their widely acclaimed 'Drone Etiquette' album in late 2021. Here again, they dish out a fine new collection of 90s college rock-inspired compositions, their distinct sound built on a magnetic alternative rock foundation.

From their 2013 debut 'Praise Elephants' EP, which NME Magazine described as “celestial guitar jangle”, the Leaps released an EP every autumn until 2017. From their acclaimed sophomore 'Drive Drive Delay' EP in 2014 to their fifth 'Bicycle Face' EP, they have delivered one perfect power pop cocktail after another. Their massive 2018 'Pop That Goes Crunch' anthology was followed by a return as a studio project, releasing the 'Electrical Living' LP in 2019 and the 'Smiling Lessons' EP in 2020 together with Jon Hunt.

As of September 13, 'Alright Alright' will be available on Bandcamp, and will also be offered as an instant gratification track when ordering the full 'Machines For Living' EP. As of October 7, this EP will be released across online platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

Scottish dream-music icon ROBIN GUTHRIE presents new 'Riviera' EP, ending 2021 with 3 new releases

Following the October release of his 'Mockingbird Love' EP and the November release of his full-length album 'Pearldiving' (his first album in nine years) comes another unique release by legendary Scottish music sculptor Robin Guthrie - the 4-track 'Riviera' EP, a collection completed earlier this year..

The 'Riviera' EP is available on limited-edition CD and as a digital download via Soleil Après Minuit with distribution in North America via Darla and in Europe by Cargo.

'Riviera' stands on its own as a release, apart from the album, featuring Guthrie’s ever present signature sound and atmosphere, displaying a refinement and maturity only found in the work of an artist working largely unfettered from the constraints of the music industry.

His approach to music is perhaps more akin to that of a painter or a photographer. The adept use of light and shade, melody and counter melody, the carefully and precisely arranged instrumentation, musical textures and colorings gives his music a depth and level of detail which marks a master craftsman.

“I made this collection earlier this year while taking a break from recording 'Pearldiving'. I found a common thread among several unfinished tunes, that curiously, they had all been written on the southern shore of some landmass or other in the northern hemisphere. I was pleasantly surprised when they all fell into place together and retained this atmosphere in my head,” says Guthrie.

Earlier, he shared, “After 'Another Flower', released just a few days before the untimely passing of my friend and co-conspirator Harold Budd, I felt the need to break my studio down and build it up again afresh to clear my head."

40 years on from founding Cocteau Twins, Robin Guthrie has certainly been its most prolific member, offering a steady and stellar stream of material over the years. His film scores include Gregg Araki's ‘Mysterious Skin’ and ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’, co-written with longtime collaborator Harold Budd. His many other collaborators include John Foxx, Mark Gardener, Telefon Tel-Aviv, Eraldo Bernocchi and Jay Jay Johanson.

Guthrie’s more recent credits as a producer and remixer include Resplandor, Ummagma, Fawns of Love, Hatchie, Jack Colwell, Tamaryn and Heligoland, whose new Guthrie-produced single 'Don't Fall In Love With Me' has also just released.

As of December 10th, 'Riviera' will be available on CD, as well as digitally on all major platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where it can already be obtained directly from Guthrie himself.

POLYCHUCK ANNOUNCES 2-SONG EP

The awesomely musically eclectic jack-of-all-trades, Polychuck, has announced the release of a 2-song EP, ‘Polychuck Part II: Shadows Remain,’ which will be released on Friday, December 3rd, 2021.

Below is the EP’s link to stream and download and video:

https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/polychuck/part-ii-shadows-remain-2

Video can be viewed below.

“Scarred” is an emotional journey into the depths of addiction, how it affects relationships and how it can become an unhealthy relationship in its own right. It features a guitar solo by Justus Hajas, a 17 year-old Tik Tok sensation. With movie samples, a pulsating, irresistible beat and a prog influence, ‘Scarred’ blends Polychuck's eclectic influences into one scintillating performance.

An optimistic ode to resilience and perseverance, “Lay a Claim” expands the scope of Polychuck's never-ending creativity. It includes nu metal scratch sounds, modern hip-hop drum sounds and 80's metal synth lines all into a coherent, moving musical creation. The song's originality excellently represents the artist's desire to cross all musical borders, while truly carving out a legacy of his own in the world of rock.

When asked how the new material on the EP differs from his previously released material, Polychuck replied, “Those were the 2 songs that originally didn’t make the cut because of their darker, more aggressive sound. These are the heavier tracks that were written and recorded at the same time as the other ones on the EP.”

And concerning what made him decide to issue an EP rather than waiting to include the material on a full-length, he explained, “I needed to close the chapter about ‘Shadows Exposed’ - songs about mental health, introspection and self-inquiry. This whole episode has been a lot of self-discovery especially the music writing aspect.”

What about Polychuck’s future plans? “Now that I’ve explored many facets of songwriting, I’m consolidating my identity as a composer and I am working on a full length ‘concept rock’ album.”

A great guitar shredder since the age of only 13, Polychuck is now an innovative and ever-maturing singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and high profile guitar coach who's ready to take the rock world by storm. And ‘Polychuck Part II: Shadows Remain’ is another major sonic and artistic step.

Wade Bowen Releases Six-Song EP "Where Phone Don't Work"

WADE BOWEN SHARES RENEWED SENSE OF HOPE & INSPIRATION VIA SIX-SONG EP, WHERE PHONES DON’T WORK,
AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE NOW

Watch the Official Music Video for Lead Single “When Love Comes Around

A longtime staple of the Texas music scene, Wade Bowen continues to prove that his music can’t be constrained by the state line with today’s release of his highly anticipated six-song EP, Where Phones Don’t Work, via Thirty Tigers and produced by Paul Moak. Listen HERE.

A dozen albums have shown Bowen’s evolution – including six studio sets, two beloved live collections, a gospel album and an ongoing series of buddy-country hits with fellow Texan, Randy Rogers – yet with each distinct piece of art his focus remains on writing unique songs with a literary quality and constantly reexamining his sonic territory to match his life, as evidenced once again on Where Phones Don’t Work, which sees Bowen as a cowriter on all six songs.

The project opens with the title track, “Phones Don’t Work,” cowritten with Aaron Raitiere and Rhett Akins, a song with a singalong quality born from Bowen’s desire to push himself to write bigger sounding sounds, with the results seemingly tailormade for a long-awaited return to live shows.

Where We Call Home” follows, with the Brad Clawson and Jeremy Bussey cowrite marking a years-in-the-making return to Nashville songwriting sessions for Bowen and celebrating the little things that bring joy in life, from an old Waylon Jennings song to your first car. “Those things are important to me,” says Bowen of the lyrics’ nostalgic details. “Every day, we should find those little gems that bring us comfort and make us take a deep breath and appreciate what we have.”

The Last Town in Texas,” one of two cowrites with Eric Paslay and Heather Morgan on the project,” is championed by Bowen as the song he believes in most from his entire career thus far and also marks the first time he’s namechecked his home state in a song. “I’ve always said I’m an artist from Texas, not a Texas artist,” he explains. “I’ve made it a point not to say Texas in any of my songs. This one was completely different, though, because it had to be said. I love when it’s done right and differently.”

The other Paslay/Morgan cowrite on the project, lead single “When Love Comes Around,” was awarded MusicRow’s “Disc of the Day” award upon its recent release, with Billboard also honoring the song among the best of the week, noting that “two decades into his music career, Bowen’s music retains a newcomer’s energetic fervor, melded with his signature blend of sounds from across the wide spectrum of Texas music.”

“Trouble Is” marks a bucket-list cowrite for Bowen, who wrote the track praised by Outsider as a song that “rivals some of his best work” with the legendary Steve Earle. “I was just hoping he liked me as a person – that was my goal,” notes Bowen. “To actually get a great song out of it makes it that much better.”

Closing out the project, “Be You,” written with Drew Kennedy, is what Bowen describes as “the mission statement of the entire project,” intended to lift people up after the difficulties of the past year-plus. “We decided to make this the final song on this EP because we wanted this to be the feeling people walk away with when they’re done with the project,” notes Bowen. “This song is just saying to everybody, ‘Please take a deep breath, find the good in the world and, most importantly, find the good in each other, and we’ll get back to a much better place than we are right now.”

Together, the collection marks the first solo project from Bowen in three years, with the promise of a full-length album on the horizon for 2022.

About Wade Bowen
Twenty years and some 4,000 shows into his career, the name Wade Bowen has become synonymous with authentic Country music– and for good reason. An artistic descendant of American icons like Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen and more, Bowen is a contemporary link in a Texan chain of roots-rock poets stretching back more than 50 years – yet his ambition never ended at the state line.

Seen as one of the genre’s finest and most genuine modern voices, Bowen’s approach stays rooted in tradition, but also stands on the creative cutting edge. His focus remains on writing unique songs with a literary quality and shifting his sonic territory to match his life, as evidenced by his uplifting new single, “When Love Comes Around,” off his forthcoming EP, Where Phones Don’t Work, available everywhere now (Thirty Tigers).

Wielding a knack for direct, poetic songwriting that never panders, Bowen matches his gravel-road growl to an organic sound spanning the whole of Texas and beyond, tapping both country and rock influences. A dozen albums have shown his sonic diversity – including six studio sets, two live collections, a gospel album and an ongoing series of buddy-country hits with fellow Texan, Randy Rogers. Along the way, he’s scored hits and accolades based on quality, not quantity, and continues to perform around 200 nationwide shows each year – including multiple appearances on the venerated Grand Ole Opry stage.
