Multi #1 Country-rocker Tyler Farr today releases his latest southern-rooted project Rednecks Like Me via Broken Bow Records/Night Train Records. Produced by Jason Aldean with his long-time band-members Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy, the country-to-the bone EP flaunts Farr’s signature raspy vocals and is a swift return to the sound that initially propelled him to redneck stardom. "This is the first project I’ve co-written all the songs on, so this is a big step in my career for me," said Farr. "I’m so proud of this album as it showcases my evolution as a singer/songwriter and I can’t wait for fans to hear it."
Heading back to his rough and rowdy ways, Rednecks Like Me features six new songs, including Farr’s latest focus track “Rednecks Like Me,” which All Country News deemed “a page out of a country boy’s journal.”
The EP includes boot-stomping jams like “Tell You ‘Bout That,” a southern rocker delivered in Farr’s trademark raspy sound, telling of his proficiency in the country boy world. “Silverado Gold” is a smoothly-delivered song that makes you want to spin around in a headlight glow and tells the story of memories that keep on shining like Silverado gold.
“First Rodeo” is an emotive track with an undeniable beat, evoking imagery of a former love riding off into the sunset. The deeply personal “Questions” is a beautifully melodious ode, offering a rare glimpse into Farr’s life as the father of a little girl.
Rounding out the EP is “true-blue country jam” (Country Swag) “Country As Shit” featuring multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll that Taste of Country declared “a summer-ready ode to windows-down, mud-crusted, beer-soaked fun in the country…offering scorching celebrations of life in the backwoods, checking off all the boxes for what it means to really party in the country.”
A professionally trained opera singer, declared “one of the best male vocalists in country music today” (Taste of Country), Farr was the first artist signed to Jason Aldean’s Night Train Records/BBR Music Group. Breaking onto the scene in 2013 with his riotous #1 hit “Redneck Crazy,” the platinum-selling artist has scored three #1s (including "Whiskey In My Water" and “A Guy Walks Into A Bar”), scored two Top 5 albums on Billboard’s 200 chart, been honored as a New Face at Country Radio Seminar and been nominated for Music Row’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
About Tyler Farr:
“One of the best male vocalists in Country music today” (Taste of Country), Tyler Farr is the first artist signed to Jason Aldean’s Night Train Records/BBR Music Group. The Country-rocker, with three No.1 songs to his credit (“Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water,” and “A Guy Walks Into a Bar”) broke onto the scene with the 2013 release of his debut album, Redneck Crazy, which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200. Farr’s Platinum-selling title-track “Redneck Crazy” projected Farr forward to celebrate back-to-back No. 1 singles, including his first No. 1 as a songwriter, with his Platinum-certified hit “Whiskey in my Water.” His sophomore album, Suffer In Peace, followed suit, also making its debut in the Top 5 on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums and Billboard Country Albums Charts, leading Farr to become the only solo male Country artist in the past decade to have their first two studio albums debut in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart. Known for his love for our military and his passion for the outdoors and recognized as a 2014 CRS New Faces of Country Radio and 2014 Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” nominee, the opera-trained singer quickly earned coveted slots touring with Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Combs, Brantley Gilbert and Lee Brice. The Missouri native’s dry wit, silly antics and reputation as “a no-frills musician who pours his drinks as hard as he pours his heart into his songs,” (Rolling Stone), led to the star’s riotous social following of fans eager for his next move. After releasing “true-blue country jam” (Country Swag) “Country As Shit,” featuring multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll that Taste of Country declared “a summer-ready ode to windows-down, mud-crusted, beer-soaked fun in the country,” Farr heads back to his rough and rowdy ways with his latest Aldean-produced EP, Rednecks Like Me, out now.
KEEP UP WITH TYLER FARR
