Enter Shikari Announce New Companion Record "Dancing On The Frontline" & New US Tour Dates

Almost a year to the day since the release of their UK #1 album "A Kiss for the Whole World", Enter Shikari are announcing a new companion record "Dancing On The Frontline". The new record brings together remixes, non-album singles (featuring the likes of Wargasm, Cody Frost, AViVA and Fever 333’s Jason Aalon Butler), plus live recordings from the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show and Future Sounds shows. The record's opening track 'Goldfish (Shikari Sound System remix)' is out now. Pre-order "Dancing On The Frontline" HERE.

Talking about the new release, lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds says:

“We’re exactly one year on from the release of A Kiss For The Whole World, so it feels like the right time to present all our output from this crazy year, along with some new treats, all in one place. We’ve not had a lot of time or energy to do any Shikari Sound System mixes for a while, so it was great to be able to step back into that chair and remix 'Goldfish' and 'Bloodshot'. We tested out the Goldfish rework live on our UK & European tour and insanity ensued.”

Hear 'Goldfish (Shikari Sound System remix)' on streaming services here and watch below.

"Dancing On The Frontline" also comes with a Blu-ray of the band's headline performances at Slam Dunk Festival UK in 2023 and Germany's Vainstream Festival in the summer of 2022, with both shows edited by the band’s longtime visual collaborator Oleg Rooz.

Their much-lauded live show has since been all around the world, covering the USA, Australia, Europe, UK, Ireland and more. Audiences in the UK also witnessed the band's biggest ever headline tour to date of the country's arenas, an audio-visual spectacular that The Guardian awarded four stars and heralded as "the beginning of Enter Shikari’s greatest chapter."

In October the band will bring special guests You Me At Six out on the road with them, as they journey through North America on what will be You Me At Six's final ever shows in the continent, ahead of their split in 2025.

Talking about the upcoming tour, Reynolds continues:

"In October, Enter Shikari bring special guests You Me At Six to the states for a fresh headline run. "North America has always been difficult for Shikari, long tours, thousands of miles, and playing venues smaller than most of the other rooms we get to visit around the world. But we’ve always kept returning because there’s a real zest and passion from our audience out there, even if fewer people ‘get us’.

Recently things seem to have begun sizzling a bit more for us, with more shows selling out and more intensity in the crowds. So it’s some reward for our tenacity that we’re returning in October for what will be our biggest ever North American headline tour. And that will be made all the sweeter by being able to bring our friends You Me At Six with us for this one. We’ve known each other a long time, but somehow only ever played a couple of shows together, so the fact that they’re joining us for what will be their last ever USA & Canada tour really means something to us."

Australian pop-punks Yours Truly will also be joining the tour as openers on all dates.

Enter Shikari and Jason Butler (Fever 333) Join Forces For New Single 'Losing My Grip'

Enter Shikari and Fever 333 lead singer Jason Butler have released their new collaborative single 'Losing My Grip' today. The track marks the first new music from Enter Shikari in 2024, following the band's biggest year to date which included the release of their first ever UK #1 album A Kiss for the Whole World and the announcement of a huge world tour. They closed their 2023 with live runs through Europe and Australia, and will begin their biggest ever UK headline tour later this month. Stream 'Losing My Grip' HERE and watch the accompanying video below.

Linking up with long-time friend and upcoming tour mate Jason Butler (Fever 333), 'Losing My Grip' is a characteristically inquisitive and probing single that beats its chest and locks eyes with a world spinning out of control. It again showcases the collaborative talents of a band that in the last year alone have worked on singles with AViVA, Cody Frost, WARGASM and You Me At Six.

Talking about their new single, lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds says:

"We've known [Fever 333 lead singer] Jason for years now and have toured much of the world together. I think we always thought that it'd be great to collaborate on something when the right opportunity surfaced.

This track certainly felt right. It required a thoughtful intensity, which Jason provides effortlessly in whatever he sets his mind to.

We can't wait to take Fever 333 out on our UK and Europe tour, it's been too long since we shared a stage together.

Losing My Grip oscillates between two of our favourite and foundational genre influences; Drum and Bass and hardcore punk.

Lyrically, it's about the immense power that our species now wields, and the pressure and weight that that adds to our lives. We're the only species capable of destroying itself (and all others) completely and, increasingly, it appears as though we're only too willing. Losing My Grip is about the fight to stay sane whilst living in a deeply and dangerously flawed system.”

Fever 333 lead singer Jason Butler adds:

"I've always been a fan of Enter Shikari. Yes, them as a band, but moreover, them as people. Yes, what they do, but even more so how they do it. They are an entity in their own lane and I'm honoured to have had an opportunity to swerve in it for a second and very excited to be rockin' with them on this upcoming tour. WE ARE GODS."

Listen to 'Losing My Grip' on streaming services here

Enter Shikari will be continuing their World Tour in the UK and Europe this Feb and March. The band's UK tour is a ground-breaking tour during which £1 from every ticket sale will be donated to the Music Venue Trust in support of grassroots venues. They will return to the US to wow fans at Welcome To Rockville in May.

More about Enter Shikari and new album A Kiss For The Whole World

As the calendar now signals three years since Enter Shikari last released an album - their UK #2 charting album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible – it is useful to think back to the final question the band last posed fans: “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” Little could they know just how close to the end things would end up feeling as the events of the early ‘20s dimmed the light in the furnace of their live juggernaut, and connection to their fans. “At the time it felt like we ourselves, as musicians, were experiencing the death of our band,” says lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds.

Unsurprisingly, the key in the band’s ignition came in the form of a live show as they headlined the Download Festival Pilot in front of 10,000 fans. Where not a single new word flowed from the pen of Reynolds in the two years prior, a realisation was born that would come to define the band’s seventh LP: “I just didn’t realise that the human and physical connection to other people were so central to how I write,” he says. Enter Shikari isn’t just four people – it’s hundreds of thousands.

The album's lead single "(pls) set me on fire" sparked the next stage in the band’s evolution, and the first words we hear from Enter Shikari 2.0 don’t come in the form of a question this time, but a command: “Please set me on fire”. In other words, ignite the spark inside us and set us free. This may be a new Enter Shikari but they’ve lost nothing in their flair for bold opening gambits.

Reynolds comments on the single’s conception: "Honestly, I thought I was f*****. I’ve never felt so detached from my soul, my purpose, my f****** spirit. I didn’t write music for almost two years. The longest I’d gone before that was two weeks. I was broken. It’s almost as if my brain had asked: “What is the point in music if it cannot be shared? What is the point in writing music if it’s not to be experienced with others?” and then promptly switched itself off. ‘(pls) set me on fire’ grew out of that desperation. This song is a projectile vomit of positive energy. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free."

It was in the Spring of 2022 that the band descended to the coastal town of Chichester, and a delipidated farmhouse, to rebuild their studio setup and capture their renewed momentum on record. Using only solar power to track the album – in what Reynolds says was to “bring back some sense of naivety” – the life-giving properties and Technicolor palate of A Kiss For The Whole World were made real. Reynolds continues: “Back to basics. This band - my best friends - bundled into an old farmhouse, miles away from anywhere. Off-grid, and ready to rediscover ourselves. This album is powered by the sun, the most powerful object in our solar system. And I think you can tell. It’s a collection of songs that represent an explosive reconnection with what Enter Shikari is. The beginning of our second act”.

Enter Shikari Link Up with Multi-Disciplinary Aussie Star AViVA for New Single "Strangers"

UK trailblazers, Enter Shikari, are thrilled to announce their new collaborative single, "Strangers" alongside fellow dynamic talent AViVA. Fans can stream the new single HERE or at the link below.

This exciting coming together of two genre-blending artists is as explosive as each of their fanbases can expect, as the former touring partners bring their signature to let "Strangers" soar. Crushing and impassioned, "Strangers" erupts in characteristic fashion and again showcases the collaborative talents of a band that in the last year alone have worked on singles with Cody Frost, WARGASM and You Me At Six.

Lifting the curtain on the creative journey behind the single, lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds says:

"Aviva has has such a great voice (I can still hear her operatic warm ups, echoing around the backstage rooms!), so it was a pleasure to sing with her on the track. Rob and I got to visit her at home on the beautiful coast of New South Wales and work together on what would become Strangers, the story of newly found freedom from a suffocating relationship.”

Sharing her thoughts on the vibrant collaboration, versatile songstress AViVA adds:

"Teaming up with Enter Shikari for this project has been an incredible experience. After touring with them in 2022 we thought it would be fun to work on a song together and 'Strangers' just seemed perfect.

We all share a deep passion for music, and together, we've crafted something truly special that I believe our fans will love. The song has been worked on across multiple countries, and time zones, and we were even lucky enough to do the vocal recording together at my home studio. The song continues to explore a concept I see as a throughline in much of my artistic work. The loss of connection, and isolation that follows. the line 'we're just strangers now' really sums it up, but I think people will really connect with the rawness of this song, be it the loss of a romantic relationship or losing a friend, that pain often lingers with us for a long time."

Enter Shikari's remarkable journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of musical innovation and a passion for pushing the boundaries of their genre. With a dedicated and ever-growing fanbase, their live shows are nothing short of explosive, leaving audiences in awe. As they embark on a World Tour and gear up for their most extensive UK arena tour yet in the new year, Enter Shikari solidify their status as trailblazers, with thought-provoking lyrics and an unforgettable stage presence at the heart of their performance. There's no doubt that Enter Shikari's future promises more groundbreaking music and electrifying performances, ensuring their legacy of success will continue to grow. Be sure to stay tuned for more Enter Shikari news soon.

Praise for Enter Shikari's new album A Kiss for the Whole World:

"Enter Shikari reassert their credentials as one of the UK's most important rock bands." - Upset ★★★★★

“A Kiss For The Whole World might just be its authors' finest work yet. Rooted in the present, somehow it is still the sound of the future.” - Louder ★★★★ ½

“These are anthems of liberation for what seems an eternal uncertainty that we live in.” – Clash ★★★★

"There is an explosive exuberance at the heart of Enter Shikari's superb seventh album." - Kerrang! ★★★★

“As hopeful as they’ve ever sounded” - NME ★★★★

“Here is an album that sees Shikari proving exactly why they’ve carved their own place in UK music royalty.” - Rolling Stone UK★★★★

"When it comes to combining rave, metal and pop craftsmanship in songs that come with self-help messages and moral guidelines, nobody beats [Enter Shikari]" - The Times

ENTER SHIKARI have a way with opening statements and as their new album begins with the words “Be embraced, billions” (‘A Kiss for the Whole World x’), we immediately learn plenty about the band's ambition for this album to touch people.

Its trio of whirlwind single releases to date have reignited dormant sparks '(pls) set me on fire' confronted how we measure self-worth ('It Hurts') and eyed the trappings of cyclical mistakes (‘Bloodshot’). Journeying through the new album, we are met with calls to revel in the power of spontaneity, (‘Leap Into The Lightning’), encouraged to explore (‘Jailbreak’), and - most poignantly - asked to consider the changing nature of identity (‘giant pacific octopus’).

A Kiss for the Whole World heralds the band's most vibrant, direct and life-affirming album so far.

Fans can also catch Enter Shikari on the Welcome To Rockville lineup in May of 2024 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL.

As they take the stage at the iconic festival, Enter Shikari reaffirms their position as a musical force to be reckoned with and promises an unforgettable experience.

Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds says:

"I’m so excited to let this beast out into the wild! It’s such a vibrant album, a cocktail of emotions and I can’t wait for people to delve in.

Judging on the way the tracks we’ve played live so far are going down, I think it’s really gonna connect with people.”

ENTER SHIKARI have a way with opening statements and as their new album begins with the words “Be embraced, billions” (‘A Kiss for the Whole World x’), we immediately learn plenty about the band's ambition for this album to touch people.

For ENTER SHIKARI, rejuvenation, resilience and resurrection have been on the agenda as they've been introducing the new songs to huge audiences in the UK, Europe and Japan on a series of innovative live residency dates this Spring.

ENTER SHIKARI Share New Single "Bloodshot" & Announce Special Matinee Show

Enter Shikari are today sharing "Bloodshot", the third single to be taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Listen to "Bloodshot" below.

"Bloodshot" follows recent singles "(pls) set me on fire" and "It Hurts", both of which were instantly embraced with open arms by fans old and new, and received their first live outings during the band’s sensational run of sold-out February residency shows in the UK. For Enter Shikari, rejuvenation, resilience and resurrection have been on the agenda as they introduce new music to the world. However, in the arrival of "Bloodshot" the band have more questions to pose themselves, and us.

Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds explains:

“Every day, I seem to be asking myself “Is this article biased?”, “is this claim true?”, “Should I be more furious about this issue? Or less furious?”, “Am I being manipulated? Provoked? Radicalised by my own ‘tribe’?.

"Bloodshot" is about how hard it is to find truth, and how easy it is to stop thinking for yourself and simply repeat your ‘team’s’ mantras.

Everyone’s so fucking angry with everyone else and it’s exhausting. It seems like social media’s main purpose these days is to hypnotise us to hate."

Pre-order A Kiss For The Whole World here. Limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3 album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

Enter Shikari have also announced an intimate all ages matinee show at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA on April 30th, to accompany their sold out run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US. Alongside their matinee show, the band will be hitting Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10) for their special US run.

ENTER SHIKARI Share New Single "It Hurts"

Enter Shikari are today sharing "It Hurts", the second single to be taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Listen to "It Hurts" on streaming services here.

"It Hurts" follows January's earth-shaking lead single "(pls) set me on fire". It brings with it a call to switch up our worldview and reassess the ways in which we judge ourselves - all in a flurry of race-to-the-finish-line intensity. Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds explains:

"'It Hurts' came to me in a dream. Literally. Melody, chords, and fully-formulated chorus were all part of a dream that, thankfully, remained with me when I woke up. I was hiding under the duvet at 3AM, singing it into my phone, much to the bewilderment of my girlfriend.

Lyrically, "It Hurts" is about perseverance, and the importance of reframing failure as a fruitful and, in fact, pivotal route to progress. Society teaches us we should avoid and criticise failure, when defeat and honest mistakes can actually present us with insights that light our way forward.

In reality, we should be taught that simply to try makes us more than enough.

Pre-order A Kiss For The Whole World here. Limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3 album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

Enter Shikari have also previously announced a run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US. Taking place in May this year, the band will be playing 3 very special US show, hitting Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10).

ENTER SHIKARI Drop Official Music Video For "(pls) set me on fire"

Enter Shikari have dropped the official music video for "(pls) set me on fire" today. Watch the video below. The release follows the announcement last week of their highly anticipated new album, A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Pre-orders for the album are available HERE with limited formats of the new album come packaged with the Live From Alexandra Palace 3album & DVD, recorded live in December 2021 at the band’s sold out 10,000 capacity London show.

‘(pls) set me on fire is the first single from Enter Shikari’s forthcoming album ‘A Kiss For The Whole World’. The accompanying music video was conceived and directed by frontman Rou Reynolds, alongside London-based Producers / longtime friends / collaborators of the band, Kode Media.

Intended specifically as a more simple (yet extremely dynamic) video which twins with its single #2 successor, ‘(pls) set me on fire’ was filmed in one complete shot on one locked-off camera in the docklands of East London, just hours into the beginning of 2023.

On the subject of the video, Rou Reynolds said :

"I’ve not always been happy with our previous music videos, so figured I’d put my money where my mouth was and direct these ones myself. I wanted the ‘(pls) set me on fire’ video to feel minimal and uncomplicated, which is actually the polar opposite of the next video.

So, given that the main function of this video is really just to set up the next one, I think it came out fucking great.”

Enter Shikari will perform a run of very special album release shows across UK, Europe and the US. Taking place in May this year, the band will play 3 very special US show, hitting Los Angeles (5/03), Chicago (5/5) and New York (5/10). Tickets are available in advance for one week only, to those who have pre-ordered 'A Kiss For The Whole World' from band & label stores, as well as members of the band’s fan club. General on-sale for remaining tickets will begin on Thursday, January 26th at 10am local time.

ENTER SHIKARI share new single "Bull" feat. Cody Frost

Enter Shikari are today sharing a brand-new single, ‘Bull’ feat. Cody Frost. The new track is the second stand-alone Enter Shikari single of 2022 and follows the band’s huge summer return ‘The Void Stares Back’ feat. Wargasm.

Having lit up the mainstages at Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer and taken their live show across the US and Australia through the autumn, Enter Shikari once again welcome a collaborator into the fold for the seismic new single ‘Bull’. Find the new track on streaming platforms HERE and watch the video directed by Elliot Gonzo below.

Cody Frost had long been in the minds of Enter Shikari for a collaboration, and when the track’s co-writer and producer Rou Reynolds began to pen a song that took aim against harassers, bullies and trolls, Cody’s voice immediately jumped into the foreground. With ‘Bull’ the band swipes at those that come into our lives only to cause damage. It’s an intense stampede of emotion that tramples all over the wreckage of what’s left behind by these types of people, seeing the scorched earth as a place on which to build something new – something better. The addition of Cody Frost is a monument to the positive ways that people enter our lives as well.

Lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds comments:

“Some people seem to crop up in your life, do immense damage to it, and then scuttle off again unscathed and unfazed. Whether it’s harassers or bullies, social media trolls, or ill-considered romantic partners, this song is about those who damage your mental health, your self-esteem, and even your very identity”.

“We’ve known Cody for years and years now, and consider them a real part of the inner Shikari family. We’ve always known they were a wonderful talent and it’s been great to see them begin to ascend and find their voice.

When I was writing the chorus to Bull I could just immediately hear their voice. It seemed ingrained in the very viscera of the song already. We showed them the track and they came at us with all the passion in the world. Cody has incredible dynamic ability and is able to offer enormous power but with real vulnerability and tenderness never too far away. It was a joy to have them on this one, it all came together so effortlessly and we are all over the moon with the result”.

Cody Frost adds:

“I can’t tell you how much this collab means to me, and it came at just the right time. I’d been through a hard breakup and lost everything, so when Rory messaged me asking if I wanted to be on a Shikari track, I lost my mind! I’ve been a huge fan of Enter Shikari since I was 15, I even have my favourite track title tattooed on my palms. When I got the news I sat in my room for hours and the lyrics just poured out, I went into the studio with Dan (Weller), who has worked with me on my own music and some of Shikari’s too, to lay down the vocals while the band listened! Filming the video was a dream, my favourite musicians serving me pies!!! It was surreal, and the concept was so fun I just know that Shikari fans are gonna dig it.”

Enter Shikari will headline Slam Dunk Festival 2023 in the UK and will be touring across mainland Europe in December. Full info and tickets at www.entershikari.com

ENTER SHIKARI Drop New Single "The Void Stares Back" Featuring Wargasm

Enter Shikari are today sharing a brand-new single, ‘The Void Stares Back’, featuring the breakthrough rock duo Wargasm. Listen below.

It has been almost three years since Enter Shikari last released a new single. On their previous outing ‘The Great Unknown’, the final single to be taken from their UK #2 album 'Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible', we last heard the band questioning “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” As they now share highly anticipated new material, the answer to those questions comes into sharp focus: a new beginning is upon us.

Long-established as restless innovators operating in entirely their own lane, Enter Shikari re-emerge today with some of their most thrilling and potent work so far, in collaboration with Wargasm. ‘The Void Stares Back’ spins a startling pop sensibility into a haymaker chorus, that erupts to champion acceptance, community, belonging and the power of progress. It’s about staking your claim, being who you are, searching for like-minds and ushering out the antiquated views of old.

Lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds comments:

"It is with elation, and more than a little nervousness, that we release this; our first track after over two years of dormancy. It is a roisterous journey made all the more so with the addition of our friends Wargasm. Thematically, the piece is about the forward march of social progress, and how, often, those with a more conventional archaic outlook on sexuality, gender, social design, economics etc, see those with differing ideas like bewildering, depraved creatures from another dimension.”

Wargasm add:

“Shikari were a big part of our growing up, so it was an absolute honour to be asked to collaborate with such an incredible and well-spoken band. They stand for the right things - we're a little more pessimistic. It was fun playing the darker devil's advocate to Rou's light...where we're going, you won't need eyes to see...”

"The Void Stares Back" is released in the wake of several large live music returns. The band headlined last summer’s Download Pilot Festival and sold out a fourth show at London’s Alexandra Palace as part of an album tour victory lap. The band plays the mainstage at this month’s Reading & Leeds Festivals in the UK.
