Corey Kent Teams with Lauren Alaina for Latest Release "Now or Never"

Sony Music Nashville artist Corey Kent has spent more than 15 years cutting his own path through a tangled wilderness of stumbles and setbacks … and never once come close to waving a white flag. The result…he is about to release his sophomore album, Black Bandana, Sept. 6, 2024 and will kick off his headlining Black Bandana Tour on Sept. 21. The platinum-selling Kent has given fans another taste of the upcoming  project today with the release of “Now or Never” featuring Lauren Alaina. Listen to “ Now or Never” Below and pre-save Black Bandana HERE

"'Now or Never' is a song about drawing a line in the sand for yourself,” shared Kent. “It’s about loving somebody but refusing to let them continue to hurt you by taking a stand and asking your partner to make up their mind... 'You either love me or you don’t.’"

“I am so excited to be a part of this song with Corey,” said Alaina. “I think the message is super powerful. It’s okay to love someone and take a stand for yourself when needed. I am honored Corey asked me to be a part of it. I can’t wait to see where the song takes us.”

Written by Sam Ellis, Ryan Hurd and Geoff Warburton and produced by Chris Farren, “Now or Never” finds Kent channeling the ’80s-rock anthems that helped give his childhood a soundtrack turning it into an orchestral-rock power ballad... and a duet of epic emotional proportions. Featuring the crystalline vocal counterpoint of Lauren Alaina, a pair of lovers resolve to give their volatile connection a final ultimatum –make it work now, or break it off entirely.

A Bixby, Oklahoma native now based in Dallas, the proud husband and father has become a decorated artist on the rise, growing from humble heartland roots into a Platinum certified Number One hit maker with 940 million career streams, and a black bandana on his neck. But today, that Black Bandana is more than an accessory – and not just the name of his sophomore major-label album. It’s his rally cry.

“It started from riding motorcycles and wanting something over your face so you didn’t swallow a bug,” the singer-songwriter says. “But then it turned into a staple I wear on stage, and then a symbol of the path through my career, and life. Through all the ups and downs, the one constant thing was this relentless hope – this relentless pursuit of believing that if I don’t give up, I can get where I’m going.”

With a self-built story that has seen success and disaster, keeping that belief wasn’t always easy – but it’s been paying off. Rising from the vibrant Red Dirt country scene as the embodiment of authenticity, Kent set his sights on Nashville as a teen, bringing his self-penned catalog of country-rock anthems with him. But after the pandemic coincided with the loss of his first publishing deal, Kent was forced to move to Texas and get a job on a paving crew to pay the bills, yet he stubbornly refused to call music quits. Honky-tonks and dancehalls on both sides of the Red River became his stomping ground, and slowly but surely, the black bandana spirit grew.

Fast forward a few years and the hit single “Wild As Her” proved he was right all along. An untamed tribute to a free-spirited stunner, the track re-invigorated Kent’s career as a Platinum-certified No. 1 at country radio, and the lead single off his major label album debut, Blacktop. And while momentum kept building, with Kent hitting the road alongside Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum and more, the mainstream moved to claim they knew it all along. Next-big-thing accolades came in from CMT, Opry Next Stage and more, but even as Kent became the most played new artist on country radio for all of 2023, he kept the underdog, who-cares-about-conventional-wisdom mentality. And so did his fans.

For Kent, the point was that his fans have the same independent spirit he does, and he took that lesson into his next chapter. Settled into his ranch in Texas and intent on being fully present as husband and father, while also achieving his dreams, his second album is all about finding balance, keeping clear eyes on what’s important – and waving that Black Bandana for all to see.

Co-writing six of Black Bandana’s 10 songs, what Kent ultimately wanted was to mix themes of integrity, resilience and family with a sonic setting befitting the mission. Finding the midway point between cinematic electric guitars and heart-pounding drums meet a warm, gravel-road rasp, as Kent brings classic rock into the present tense.

“We all face our own demons. We all face our own setbacks, and I hope this record serves as encouragement,” he says. “It would be really easy to lean on the past and go ‘Look at what I’ve done,’ but I’m still excited about the records I’ve yet to create. I’m excited about the shows I haven’t played yet. I’m excited about unlocking new levels of my craft, and writing more songs that people connect with deeply. …I still live for those moments.”

Kent is also connecting with friends on the road in his new podcast “Bus Call.” The podcast finds Kent chatting with everyone from country music star Bailey Zimmerman to 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, OSU Running Back Ollie Gordon. The Texas Troubadour and his guests share laughs, inspirational moments and talk through the ups and downs of both business and personal lifeListen to the first two episodes of season one now and stay tuned for a new episode each month.

The Oklahoma native will be joined by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts, Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on select dates for his headlining, international Black Bandana Tour, which kick-offs in Paso Robles California on Sept. 21. The road warrior will trek across both the U.S. and U.K. with stops in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Dublin, London and more into early 2025. Tickets are on sale now. Corey Kent Announces Sophomore Album ‘Black Bandana’ + Releases New Track “Never Ready”

On the heels of announcing his headlining 25+ City Black Bandana Tour on Monday, Sony Music Nashville’s Corey Kent has revealed his sophomore album, appropriately titled Black Bandana, will be released Sept. 6, 2024. The platinum-selling Kent has given fans a first listen of the project today with the release of heart-felt, new track, “Never Ready.” Listen to “Never Ready” HERE and pre-save Black Bandana HERE

“There are a few virtues that I live my life by. They have guided me in the toughest and darkest of times. One being unwavering hope… believing if the odds are one in a million, you’ll be the one,” Kent shared regarding his forthcoming album. “Another being relentless perseverance… when everyone else quits, you stay the course. This album embodies those virtues. We all have our battles to fight. Our people to love and protect. It ain’t always easy. When the going gets tough and you feel like waving the white flag, I hope this record inspires you to raise a black bandana instead.”

Produced by Kent with Chris Farren and Austin Goodloe and written by Kent along with Austin Goodloe, Joybeth Taylor, Lydia Vaughan, new track “Never Ready” finds the father of three reflecting on the moments in life you can never truly be ready for whether it is the birth of your child or the loss of a parent.

“I’m so proud of this song,” Kent said. “It’s about those moments in life that no matter how much you prepare for, you’re never ready for them. You know they’re coming and but they’re such big moments when they happen, it still feels like they hit you out of left field. A song about real life, love and loss…all the elements that make for a great country song to me.”

It’s been a breakout year for the gravel-voiced Blacktop singer. In addition to being named a CMT Listen Up Artist, as well as a member of The Opry Next Stage Class of 2023, he released his major label debut album, Blacktop, featuring the No. 1, Platinum-certified hit, “Wild as Her,” and has already surpassed 750 million career streams. The album was a nod back to the Oklahoma native/Dallas based country star’s many miles driving on the blacktop to hone his craft taking music to the fans anywhere he could play.

Never one to rest on his laurels, the road warrior is keeping his foot on the gas in 2024 burning up the blacktop once again with his just-announced headlining Black Bandana Tour. He will be joined by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts, Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on select dates. The headlining international tour will kick-off in Paso Robles California on Sept. 21, and trek across both the U.S. and U.K. with stops in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Dublin, London and more into early 2025.

Drawing inspiration from The Eagles, Keith Richards, Turnpike Troubadours and more, Kent’s bandana-wearing Rock ‘N’ Roll spirit comes to life on the stage. And after over a decade of paying dues, his career has not been without starts and stops … that perseverance serves as the inspiration behind the tour’s name.

“For us, the black bandana has been what we’ve picked up in times when everyone thought we should wave a white flag to surrender,” shared Kent. “I’ve spent a lot of years raising my black bandana high and letting 'em know that I wasn’t giving up that easy. I’m so excited to still be doing what I love and can’t wait to get on the road this fall and see all those black bandanas waving back at me.”

Kent finds himself musically at the intersection of rock infused country, heartland values, and red dirt grit. Still in his 20’s, he has built an incredible fanbase, developed his live show for the last 15 years, and is positioned as one of country music’s next breakout stars.

Last year the adventure-seeking road veteran joined Parker McCollum on tour in addition to playing festivals and in front of 15,000+ fans a night on Jason Aldean’s 42-city Highway Desperado tour. To close out 2023 he headlined a slew of shows of his own before joining Ashley McBryde on the UK leg of her tour earlier this year.

And after over a decade of paying dues, his career has not been without starts and stops … that perseverance serves as the inspiration behind the tour’s name.

“It all started with a bunch of Oklahoma boys piling into a red van called ‘Rooster’ and taking any gig we could get. We believed our live show would speak for itself, and we’d hustle to the merch table after our set to sling t-shirts in hopes of making enough to fill up the van to get to the next show. All those sleepless nights in the van, all the opening slots, all the miles, all the shirt slinging, all the blood, the sweat and the tears PAY OFF TODAY!” Kent reflects. “Today, I’m stoked to announce our first ever headline tour starting here in the USA and then hopping across the pond! Time to make some memories.”

Kent finds himself musically at the intersection of rock infused country, heartland values, and red dirt grit. Still in his 20’s, he has built an incredible fanbase, developed his live show for the last 15 years, and is positioned as one of country music’s next breakout stars.

Cody Hibbard Releases Small Town Anthem, "We Speak Country"

Recently signed to a co-publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Droptine Music, Cody Hibbard’s blue collar raising and ability to relate to the everyman seeps through each new release. With his latest, “We Speak Country,” timed to Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, Hibbard continues to celebrate his Asian Pacific American heritage and unique path in country music. Watch the official music video below.

Written by Carlton Anderson, Kasey Tyndall and Logan Ryan Wall and produced by Jim Catino and Julian King – with the music video directed by Wales Toney (Whale Tale Media) – “We Speak Country” continues to showcase Hibbard’s relatability, sharing how blue collar men and women are united through their shared interests and hard work, more than by how they speak.

"'We Speak Country' tells the story of my roots and how I grew up along with a lot of my fan base. It's one that's close to my heart because of its relatability factor, and I can't wait for my fans to hear it," remarks Hibbard.

Known in Nashville circles for his expert A&R ear, music veteran Jim Catino of Droptine Music first discovered Hibbard’s music while diving into streaming services on the lookout for new artists to capture his attention. With recent development for Dalton Dover leading to a publishing deal with Droptine and Sony Music Publishing along with a record deal with UMG Nashville, Catino is excited to see Country’s tent expanding to encompass even more prowess.

Hibbard’s recent release and debut on Droptine, “Looking Back Now,” is available on all streaming services.

Tenille Townes & Bryan Adams Duet for "The Thing That Wrecks You"

Born from a chance encounter in a stairwell, “The Thing That Wrecks You,” available everywhere now, brings reigning CCMA Entertainer of the Year Tenille Townes and GRAMMY Award winner Bryan Adams together on a vocal performance that matches the energy of the song’s lyrics, describing the moment love careens headfirst towards heartbreak. Listen below.

“I was recording a song for a Hallmark Movie in Vancouver last summer and found myself completely enamored by the recording space we were in,” remembers Townes. “Later in the day, I found out that it was Bryan Adams’ Warehouse Studio, and I actually ran into Bryan himself on the staircase on my way out. We talked for just a few minutes, and I was so happy to meet him because his path as a fellow Canadian has been incredibly inspiring to me, with a collection of songs that have impacted the world in such a huge way.

“Later that night, I thought about ‘The Thing That Wrecks You,’ a song I’d written a while before with Kate York and Daniel Tashian, and how the spirit of that song made me think about his voice,” she continues. “I decided to go out on a limb and sent him the song along with a letter asking if he might be up for singing on it with me. Fast forward to now, where not only have I gotten to sing with a hero of mine, but I have also found a mentor and friend through this whole adventure. This song is evidence to me that putting a wild thought out in the atmosphere and believing in it is a powerful thing.”

Just shy of four minutes, the driving track produced by Townes and her band’s guitarist, Jaxon Hargrove, was recorded with her touring band joining her in-studio as well as with Adams adding his own guitar prowess to the song alongside his vocals. Trading opening lines, the pair come together for a stirring duet on the chorus:

The song offers a preview at new music from Townes, whose most recent project, Masquerades, was released in April 2022 via Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville in partnership with RCA Records. Fans can also catch her on the road this summer, including at major festivals such as Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Faster Horses Festival, Watershed Festival and more.

About Tenille Townes
Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Tenille Townes released her latest project Masquerades April 22 via Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville in partnership with RCA Records. A meditation on duality, self-reflection, and embracing flaws, Masquerades follows her acclaimed debut album The Lemonade Stand, which was named Country Album of the Year at the 50th JUNO Awards. Townes is a 15-time Canadian Country Music Award Winner (CCMA) and is the reigning CCMA Entertainer of the Year. The two-time ACM Award-winner is also the first female artist in Mediabase Canada history to achieve two No. 1 singles (Music Canada Gold-certified “Jersey on The Wall (I’m Just Asking),” Music Canada Platinum-certified and RIAA Gold-certified “Somebody’s Daughter”). Following standout support runs with Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Brothers Osborne, George Strait and Reba, Townes is headlining shows across the globe in Australia, Canada, The United Kingdom, Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany and the US. Her international touring efforts earned her a nomination for CMA’s international achievement award. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Townes has been featured by NPR, Variety, Refinery29BillboardRolling Stone, NBC’s “TODAY,” BBC and more. Additionally, she has raised over $2.5 million for Big Hearts For Big Kids, a non-profit she started when she was 12 years old to benefit a youth shelter in her hometown, which has grown to support organizations such as Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee, S.A.F.E. Animal Haven, and the Manna House.

Miranda Lambert Earns Four GRAMMY Nominations, Bringing Career Total to 27

Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Also Nominated for Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance & Best Country Duo/Group Performance

Three-time GRAMMY winner Miranda Lambert added to her impressive tally of 23 previous nominations with four new nods, earning a nomination in each of the Country categories for the 2023 ceremony: Best Country Album, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

“I’ve always viewed a GRAMMY Award as one of the highest honors you can achieve as an artist,” notes Lambert. “I think back to creating these songs with some of my closest friends, not knowing where those writing sessions would lead, and it blows me away to see where they’ve taken us. These nominations are an absolute honor and I’m so proud to be representing the Country music community with this music that means so much to me.”

Best Country Album nominee Palomino arrived in April as the largest female Country album debut of 2022, produced by Lambert alongside Luke Dick and Jon Randall. Already named among the best albums of the year by TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum and more, it marks the latest installment in a storied career that has spanned seven previous No. 1 solo albums, 10 No. 1 singles, more than 70 prestigious awards and countless sales certifications, earning the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year praise from NPRas “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

With Pitchfork declaring that she “manages the hat-trick of both timelessness and timely activism” by challenging conventional gender notions in her Best Country Song nominated “If I Was A Cowboy” (awarded to the songwriters: Lambert and Jesse Frasure), the Texas native continues to expand the tent of the Country genre via her music.

In His Arms,” nominated for Best Country Solo Performance, was originally featured on 2021’s GRAMMY-nominated The Marfa Tapes, a raw and intimate recording with collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. It was reimagined on Palomino, with Paste celebrating the reimagined song “now wrapped in gauzy guitars and echo” and Variety declaring that her “lovelorn vocal floats alongside gossamer brushstrokes of pedal steel and organ, producing a perfect little slice of nocturnal melancholy, all the more effective for resisting the urge to reach for the rafters.”

Lambert co-wrote Best Country Duo/Group Performance nominee “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” with Luke Combs (whom she sings with on the duet) and Dan Isbell, with the Tennessean declaring, “with a restless, road-worn chorus led by two of Country music’s favorite voices, the song leaves a can’t-miss mark.”

Also nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist at this Sunday’s American Music Awards, the top streaming female Country artist of 2022 was also named to the 2022 TIME100 list honoring the world’s most influential people, and her headlining Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency is underway now at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater.

Elle King to Release BTS Look at "Worth A Shot" Music Video with Dierks Bentley

The CMA Fest Co-Host is Savoring the Summer with Hit New Single and Tour with Chris Stapleton

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Elle King is living her best life and having a blast along the way. As “Worth A Shot,” her new single and music video is rising the charts and continuing to garner massive streaming support, King is set to release a behind the scenes peak on set at the recent video shoot. Fans can watch below.

Collaborating with her longtime friend Dierks Bentley, “Worth A Shot,” is about a song about a relationship that is on the rocks but is ‘worth a shot’ at saving. Of the song, Wide Open Country noted, “The song is full of wordplay and lyrics regarding shots and alcohol while still telling the story about the struggling couple.”

The concept for the music video was created and written by King who collaborated with directors Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa Stone (Running Bear Films). Filmed in Murfreesboro, TN, the video flashes back to the Wild West in the late 1800s where King and Bentley star as husband-and-wife outlaws. With wanted signs, a liquor-filled saloon, and a shot for shot duel, the cinematic video is an unexpected take on the “highly engaging” (MusicRow) tune.

Last week King and Bentley hosted the CMA Fest primetime special on ABC which won the nightly ratings in total viewers. Filmed from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN during the 49th CMA Fest in June, the television special features 30 of music’s hottest stars as they take the stage during the four-day festival. In addition to hosting, King had several performances in the special including her smash hit Ex’s & Oh’s” where she was joined by her friend Ashley McBryde for a performance that Music Mayhem Magazine said “Stun With a One-Of-A-Kind Collaboration.”

Fans who didn’t have a chance to tune-in to the CMA Fest Special can catch King on the road with multi-Grammy winning artist Chris Stapleton and his “All American Road Show” Tour. Her set includes “Ex’s & Oh’s, “Worth A Shot,” and version of her massive hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home) with Miranda Lambert. The song recently topped the charts making it the first woman-woman collaboration to reach the top spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart since Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love Me” in 1993 which was also the only one on the 1990 launched airplay chart.

“Let me tell you, if anyone is having more fun than me this summer, I want to come join your party too,” laughed King. “I honestly couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and everyone playing, streaming and enjoying my music. This is what I’ve dreamed of and worked for since I was a teenager. I can’t believe this is my job and I get paid for it!”
