BMI’S JELLY ROLL HOSTS TRIPLE NO. ONE PARTY AHEAD OF GRAND OLE OPRY INDUCTION

BMI’s multi-GRAMMY® award-winning Nashville native Jelly Roll threw a triple No. One celebration yesterday (3/10) at the Grand Ole Opry’s Studio A, before his member induction. The BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville/Republic recording artist celebrated three of his eight consecutive career toppers as he was reunited with the songwriters, producer and publishers behind “Liar,” “Heart of Stone” and “Halfway to Hell.”

Hosted by BMI and ASCAP and emceed by BMI’s Clay Bradley, the evening began by inviting the hitmakers behind the fiery six-week No. One “Liar” to the stage. Produced by Zach Crowell, the song was co-written by Jelly Roll, Ben Johnson (BMI), Taylor Phillips (BMI) and Ashley Gorley (ASCAP), who all shared grateful remarks. Next, Jelly Roll’s co-writers behind the multi-week No. One “Heart of Stone,” Crowell and Blake Pendergrass (BMI), shared their praises about the song’s success while giving a nod to their co-writer, Shy Carter (BMI). In celebration of his first No. One party as a BMI songwriter, Bradley presented Pendergrass with a custom Taylor 210e DLX guitar.

Jelly Roll, wearing a Johnny Cash cross necklace given to him backstage by John Carter Cash for the evening, closed out the night by reminiscing on the 2025 BMI Country Award-winning song “Halfway to Hell” and gave nods to the songwriters Jessie Jo Dillon (BMI), Jesse Frasure (BMI) and Matt Jenkins (ASCAP) who were unable to attend. Concluding the celebration, BMG Americas’ President, Frontline Recordings Jon Loba presented the songwriters with plaques celebrating their milestones. The evening was sponsored by Studio Bank, who made a charitable contribution on behalf of Jelly Roll and the songwriters to the Judge Dinkins Educational Center. Green River Whiskey, the new official whiskey sponsor of BMI No. One parties, gifted Jelly Roll's collaborators a commemorative bottle of single barrel bourbon in honor of their chart-topping achievements.

JELLY ROLL BECOMES NEWEST MEMBER OF THE GRAND OLE OPRY

Multi-Grammy® Award winner Jelly Roll officially joined the Grand Ole Opry family tonight and was inducted by his close friend and fellow Opry member Lainey Wilson. Also joining in Jelly Roll’s Opry induction celebration included his friend and mentor, Opry member Craig Morgan, as well as friends Leanne Morgan and ERNEST.

Additionally, in a full circle moment, Sheriff Daron Hall and Davidson County Juvenile Correctional Professional Yolanda Hockett were in attendance and were thanked from the stage by Jelly for their belief and guidance since he encountered both in his time serving at the juvenile center, as well as members from the Judge Dinkins Educational Center, who Jelly currently works with to support and empower underserved youth. He also thanked his family including his Mom who was sitting in the front row, marking the first time she had seen him perform at the Opry.

Jelly Roll, wearing a cross that belonged to Johnny Cash that was given to him by Cash’s son John Carter Cash, kicked off his induction night with high-powered performances of his hits “Liar,” “Need A Favor,” “I Am Not Okay,” “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” and “Son Of A Sinner” joined by his friend ERNEST. Following an emotional video of his history with the Opry, friend and Grammy-winner Lainey Wilson walked to the circle with him to officially welcome into the family.

“There are some people in this business who are great singers, some people who are great songwriters and storytellers, and every once in a while somebody comes along who is something even bigger than that,” said Wilson. “They are a voice for people who feel like they don’t have one. And that’s exactly who Jelly Roll is. Your love for Jesus Christ radiates from you, and I'm so proud of you. Country music has always been about telling stories, the good, the bad, the messy; it's about redemption, and tonight we are welcoming a man who has never been afraid to tell the truth about his life. He turned pain into purpose, mistakes into music, and somehow managed to make millions of people feel like they are a little less alone. I’m so proud to call you my friend. Jelly Roll, because of your heart, your story, and the way you have used your voice to lift everybody else up, it is my honor to welcome you into the Grand Ole Opry family.”

An emotional Jelly Roll received his Opry member award saying, “To take a convicted felon from Music City who found country music because I’m from Nashville, and you take that kid who's been in the local juvenile and local county jail, and you bring him here and give him Grammys, awards, and platinum plaques, and then you make him a member of the most prestigious group of the Grand Ole Opry. Every word of that sounded like I’m telling you a lot about myself, but that is a story only God could be the author of. Some stories only God can write. This is truly a God story. I talk a lot more about him now because I'm getting a lot closer to him and  I recognize that. I don’t deserve this, I don’t deserve the grace God gave me, but I think that's the best part, right? And yet he gives it all the time.”

The two friends closed the show with a performance of their duet “Save Me.”

Jelly Roll was invited to become a member during a surprise moment of his interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, the #1 podcast in the world across all platforms. Rogan surprised Jelly Roll with a video message from Opry member Craig Morgan - inviting him to join the Opry family.

The country superstar and BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville/Republic recording artist made his Opry debut on November 9, 2021 and has become an Opry fan favorite and beloved by not only the fans, but many of its members over the years. Jelly Roll has dedicated his time to playing the show numerous times, mentoring many artists through the Opry NextStage program, and serving as host of Opry NextStage Live shows in Texas.

Jelly Roll’s Opry history with Morgan predates back to a moment years ago when freshly released from prison, Jelly was in the Opry audience as Morgan performed “Almost Home,” a moment the star references as ‘life changing’ for him. Years later, Jelly was surprised on stage by Morgan, where they performed “Almost Home” together on the Opry stage. Marking the full-circle moment, Morgan presented handwritten, autographed framed lyrics of “Almost Home” to Jelly to commemorate the occasion.

Jelly Roll recently won every Grammy Award he was nominated for in 2026 including Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake, Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Amen” with Shaboozey (his current country radio single that is inside the Top 5 and surging towards number one) and Best Contemporary Country Album of the Year for his sophomore album, Beautifully Broken, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. The album features his multi-week #1 Grammy-nominated song, “I Am Not Okay.” The three Grammy wins recognize his major impact on both country and Christian music genres.

Having grown up in Antioch, Tennessee, the CMA, ACM, Grammy, Dove and People’s Choice award winning star’s debut Country project, Whitsitt Chapel, continues to resonate and the album marked the biggest debut by a Country artist that year of release.

The Opry will continue its 100th celebration in 2026 with a performance next week at Carnegie Hall (March 20), Opry 100 Honors shows including “Opry 100 Honors Little Jimmy Dickens” (March 21), and other special shows. About Kashus Culpepper
Alabama-born country crooner Kashus Culpepper encompasses the sound of the South. A student and reverent purveyor of Southern music – country, soul, blues, folk and rock – Culpepper’s husky, sandpaper growl bellows like a freight train over self-penned stories that are as raw and real as they are haunting. Finding his voice in church as young as five years old, it wasn’t until 2020’s global pandemic that Culpepper went from listener to performer, picking up a guitar and learning cover songs to play at barrack bonfires in Rota, Spain during his deployment with the Navy. Covers soon became originals, and once he landed home on U.S. shores, Kash played dive bars up and down the Mississippi Gulf Coast, making a name for himself with the fresh-yet-reminiscent sound that oozes from his very being. Crashing into prominence, Culpepper sold out headline club shows throughout the South before formally releasing a single song. With Nashville taking notice, Culpepper found a musical home at Big Loud Records. Culpepper has joined Leon Bridges, Sierra Ferrell and Darius Rucker on tour – embarking this year on a headlining run as well as dates with Wyatt Flores and Eric Church. Named one of the 2026 Shazam Fast Forward Class, WXPN’s Artist to Watch for January 2026, 2026 Nashville Scene Artist to Watch, GRAMMY.com’s 25 Artists to Watch in 2025, Apple Music Zane Lowe’s 25 Artists for ’25, 2025 Variety Power of Young Hollywood Impact Report, Opry NextStage Class of 2025, Billboard’s February 2025 Country Rookie of the Month, 2025 Amazon Music Bonfire Artist to Watch, Apple Music’s February 2025 Country Riser of the Month, 2025 Pandora Country Artist to Watch and Martin Artist Showcase Class of 2025, Rolling Stone declares: “If what we’ve heard so far is any indication, expect 2026 to be a breakthrough year for this Alabama singer.” Culpepper’s debut album Act I is out now.

JASON ALDEAN TAKES “HOW FAR DOES A GOODBYE GO” ALL THE WAY TO NUMBER ONE AT COUNTRY RADIO, HIS 31ST CAREER CHART-TOPPER

Multi-platinum award-winning artist and reigning country powerhouse Jason Aldean lands his 31st number one at Country Radio topping both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts with his latest single “How Far Does A Goodbye Go” via Broken Bow Records. On the Billboard Country Airplay chart, Aldean now ties George Strait, Alan Jackson and Luke Bryan for the fourth-most No. 1s since the chart began in 1990. This single served as the first preview of Aldean’s new album Songs About Us, dropping April 24. Pre-add, pre-save, pre-order HERE.

“Man, I thought 30 was a milestone…now we’re sitting at 31 number one songs. That’s pretty wild. Thank you to country radio, my team, our streaming partners, the songwriters and every one of y’all who’ve listened and turned these songs into something bigger than we ever imagined,” says Aldean.

The chart topping success coincides with Aldean’s Full Throttle World Tour return to Australia and his first time headlining New Zealand this week with shows kicking off on Thursday. Aldean is also a two-time nominee at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards — Country Artist of the Year and Country Song of the Year for his 30th number one hit “Whiskey Drink.”

Over the past two decades, Aldean has built a remarkable career with 13 Top 10 country albums, 31 number one hits at country radio and a SoundExchange Hall of Fame Award for being one of the most-streamed artists of all time.

JASON ALDEAN PARTNERS WITH HOUSTON NATIVE, 13-YEAR-OLD DJ DANIEL, TO RAISE $200,000 FOR HEROES FOR CHILDREN

Grammy-nominated, award-winning entertainer Jason Aldean’s FULL THROTTLE Tour made its sold-out stop in Houston, TX Friday (8/15) at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, but not before making a very important local stop. Before taking to the stage, Aldean joined Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, members of the Houston Astros baseball team, and families, staff and children from Texas-based non-profit Heroes for Childrenfor a full day of mini-golf at Puttshack and baseball fun before the Full Throttle show that evening. Aldean, in partnership with Full Throttle tour sponsor Patriot Mobile, also presented a surprise check for $200,000 to Heroes for Children, thanking them for all they do and thanking DJ for bringing his awareness to the organization.

Patriot CMO Scott Coburn, (Aldean), Heroes for Children Co-Founders Jenny Lawson and Larissa Linton, Patriot Mobile COO Jenny Story, (DJ Daniel) and Patriot Mobile CEO Glenn Story at a Heroes for Children Puttshack event ahead of Aldean’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Full Throttle Tour stop on August 15th in Houston, TX.

The event was the culmination of initial outreach online by 13-year-old DJ Daniel, a cancer fighter and Houston native, who made a video plea earlier this year asking, “Hey, does anybody know Jason Aldean? Because we’re trying to do a country show down here to raise money for kids with cancer.” Jason saw the video while he happened to be with his friend and fellow artist Darius Rucker, so they responded here, with Jason promising to meet the teen and help his mission.

In addition to hosting the event at Puttshack mini golf, Aldean also worked with the Houston Astros, who came to the table in a big way, offering kids a chance to attend batting practice including meet-and-greets on site with some of its players and free tickets to a future Astros game, ahead of Aldean’s sold-out show that evening. Hall of Famers Roger Clemens and Jeff Bagwell were in attendance, playing golf and taking pictures with families battling pediatric cancer. Later that evening at the Full Throttle Houston show, DJ made a surprise on-stage appearance to share his story of how Heroes for Children helped him, encouraging fans to also get involved, and also telling a few jokes that had the crowd roaring.

DJ Daniel, who suffers from a rare form of brain and spinal cancer was told almost 8 years ago that he had about 5 months to live, and after battling cancer and undergoing more than a dozen surgeries, has since spent countless hours working to raise awareness and funds in the fight against childhood cancer and Texas non-profit Heroes for Children. Co-founded by Jenny Lawson and Larissa Linton, who both lost children to cancer, Heroes For Children helps to ensure no family faces childhood cancer alone. JASON ALDEAN CELEBRATES HIS 30th #1 AT COUNTRY RADIO WITH HIS LATEST SINGLE “WHISKEY DRINK”

GRAMMY nominated entertainer and ACM Artist of the Decade, Jason Aldean lands his 30th #1 at Country Radio via Broken Bow Records this week with his latest single “Whiskey Drink,” featured on his album Highway Desperado. Recently, kicking off his “Full Throttle Tour” with sold out dates at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (5/23), Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Canada (5/24) and the Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY (5/25), the country music superstar is bringing his hit packed show to CMA Fest this week in Nashville as he closes out Nissan Stadium on the opening night, Thursday, June 5 before heading back out on the road in July.

With this latest accolade, Jason joins an elite class of entertainers who have logged 30+ #1 hits throughout their career like George Strait, Tim McGraw, Ronnie Milsap, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton.

“30 #1s is a huge milestone, and I couldn’t let it go by without thanking the fans, country radio, the songwriters, BMG and the best promo team in the business,” says Jason Aldean. “I appreciate all the support we have gotten from everyone over the last 20 years. And, I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon; so, I’m working hard on getting this next round of music out and can’t wait to share it soon.”

“I always say icons come from the fringes and Jason Aldean exemplifies that without question,” says Jon Loba, President, Frontline Recordings, BMG Americas. “When many questioned his music early on, he was uncompromising and in the process, added an entirely new sound to the genre that many tried to chase, but none could replicate.  Today, he registers his 30th #1, while continuing to sell out arenas and amphitheaters. We at BMG look forward to him shaping the sound of Country music for years to come.”

ABOUT JELLY ROLL:
Award-winning, GRAMMY® nominated Nashville native singer/songwriter Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart for the first time with his acclaimed 2024 album, Beautifully Broken—which also earned the highest critical praise of his career so far from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Associated Press, NPR, and more. The release concluded his most successful year yet and followed his sold out Beautifully Broken Tour in arenas nationwide. The album includes the platinum-certified #1 hit “I Am Not Okay.”

Just a year earlier, Jelly debuted Top 3 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart and #2 on the Top Country Album charts with his debut Country Album, Whitsitt Chapel (released June 2nd, 2023) - earning the biggest Country debut album in Billboard Consumption Chart history. Following his sweep at the 2023 CMT Music Awards where he earned three awards to become the most awarded artist of the night, the Billboard Country Power List Cover star and “country’s ‘most authentic’ new artist” (The New Yorker) received Billboard’s 2023 Breakthrough Award and the People’s Choice Award for Male Country Artist of the Year. Nominated for Best New Artist and Best Duo/Group Performance for “Save Me (with Lainey Wilson)” at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, along with eight genre-spanning nominations at the 2024 iHeartRadio Awards and a win for Best New Country and Pop artist wins, Jelly is one of three artists alongside Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs to have scored three Country Airplay #1s in 2023 and the first to do it with his first three singles. He has earned six consecutive #1s to date at Country radio and is “one of Nashville’s fastest rising stars” (The New York Times). A 4X winner at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards and the most nominated male at the 2023 CMA Awards, with five total nominations capturing his first CMA Award for New Artist of the Year, Jelly continues to break boundaries. His #1 hit single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt— set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights including a Platinum certification from the RIAA on the heels of his 28-week reign at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Most recently, “Save Me” earned Jelly his first ACM win for Music Event of the year, released his new album Beautifully Broken on October 11 and launched his Beautifully Broken Tour on August 27th following his eight consecutive #1 singles: “Liar,” “I Am Not Okay,” “Chevrolet” - Dustin Lynch feat. Jelly Roll, “Halfway To Hell,” “Save Me,” “Need A Favor,” “Son of A Sinner” & “Dead Man Walking.”

Not just an artist but a humanitarian, Jelly continues to resonate with fans on a global scale while racking up numerous milestones - from playing his sold-out hometown show for 18,000 fans at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to donating a recording studio at the juvenile detention center he served in as a teen, to the release of his record-breaking documentary by ABC News, “Save Me” - the most watched music documentary on the platform - to his visits with rehab centers and those incarcerated across the US. Featured by Nightline, GMA, GMA3, The New York Times, LA Times, The Tennessean, Billboard, Variety, American Songwriter, CMT and more, his self-built, unconventional industry rise and unique fan connection has garnered praise from numerous outlets, with Variety noting, “for everyone who’s facing the same struggles, Jelly Roll is their Springsteen,” and American Songwriter echoing, “with a string of accolades and an extremely dedicated following, Jelly Roll has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.”

In the energetic visual, two worlds collide as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles race around an arena prior to Jelly Roll’s performance. Collaborator David Guetta and stars Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and more also make cameo appearances.

LAINEY WILSON SECURES CMA FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Lainey Wilson entered the 2024 CMA Awards as a host alongside Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning for the first time this year and by the close of the show was awarded two CMA Awards including: Female Vocalist of the Year, her third consecutive win in the category, and Music Video of the Year for her #1 hit song “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”

In her acceptance speech for Female Vocalist of the Year, Lainey shared: "I've always been told if you feel like you've got a gift, you're supposed to share it, and I think that means whether you drive a tractor or pour coffee, make people smile or laugh, whatever that is I think you're supposed to share that gift."

Throughout the broadcast, Lainey would take the stage for two performances — an emotive, cinematic adaption of her current Top 20 and rising Broken Bow Records single “4x4xU” from her 2025 GRAMMY-nominated Country Album of the Year, Whirlwind, and again for the George Strait tribute performing his signature “Amarillo By Morning.” Lainey's live adaptation of "4x4xU" will release tonight to all streaming platforms. Pre-save/pre-add HERE.

BMG Publishing was proud to see writer Dan Wilson capture a CMA Award for Song of the Year for “White Horse,” a track co-penned and recorded by Chris Stapleton.

In addition, 2025 GRAMMY nominee Jelly Roll, a three-time nominee at the 2024 CMA Awards, also hit the stage twice throughout the broadcast — first with Brooks & Dunn, 2024 Duo of the Year winners, for a powerful and moving performance of “Believe” that had the audience in tears and later with Keith Urban on his fiery Stoney Creek Records single “Liar” from his just-released Billboard 200 #1 album, Beautifully Broken.
