Holding Absence Announce New Album 'Modern Life Is Lonely' Out August 28 via Sumerian Records

South Wales trio Holding Absence have today announced the release of their third album, ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’, on August 28th via new label partner Sumerian Records. To mark the announcement, the band have also released a brand new single, "Reflection", a bruised, deeply introspective anthem about confronting self-destruction, distorted self-image and the painful process of learning to heal, evolve and finally accept your own reflection.

Speaking of the track and today’s announcement, frontman Lucas Woodland shares, “We are ecstatic to release our new single "Reflection", taken from our upcoming album ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’. This album is our boldest and most creative body of work to date, so we can't wait for you to hear the whole thing in August! In the meantime, we hope you enjoy "Reflection.

'Modern Life Is Lonely' is a deeply human exploration of grief, love, identity and emotional survival in an overstimulated world, tracing the fragile line between despair and rebirth through imagery of broken mirrors, fading memories, fractured bodies and ghost-like connections. Across the record, Holding Absence wrestle with loneliness, trauma, mortality and the search for meaning, balancing crushing vulnerability with moments of transcendence and hope as the album’s characters attempt to reconnect with themselves and each other before time, distance and modern existence pull them apart completely. Pre-save the album at the link here.

After bringing the heat at last week's Welcome To Rockville, Holding Absence will next be setting their sight on Sonic Temple this weekend, Louder Than Life in September, and Aftershock in October. For ticket info, please click here.

Darkwave-shoegaze pioneers LOWSUNDAY unveil ‘Black EP’, new offering after 25-year hiatus

US darkwave-shoegaze pioneers Lowsunday is back with new music via Projekt Records - the 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine - Black EP', the second release of all-new material released since 1999. The album released focus track 'Shattered', the band has also shared a darkly fascinating video for 'This Is Not Heaven', produced by Jer Herring.

Lowsunday (initially Low Sunday Ghost Machine) emerged as a "retro-futurist" pioneer, blending darkwave and shoegaze long before the genres saw their modern revival. Their legacy was cemented with their debut album 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine' and the 1999 masterpiece 'Elesgiem', both re-released via Projekt Records in the past 18 months (for their 30th and 25th anniversaries, respectively).

When they dissolved, they left behind a cult reputation for mercurial sounds and blistering guitar work that set the stage for subsequent generations of alternative artists. Following a nearly 25-year period of inactivity, the band resurfaced as a duo in 2025—consisting of original members Shane Sahene (vocals, guitar, synth, bass, drums) and Bobby Spell (bass, guitar, drums).

Earlier, the Pittsburgh-based duo released their ‘Low Sunday Ghost Machine - White EP', ranked second among Post-Punk.com's Best EPs of 2025, and showcased by the singles 'Love Language''Soft Capture' and 'Nevver'. Both a reflection and a resurgence, Lowsunday's two new EPs usher in a welcome return, marked by superb production and a renewed creative clarity, bridging three decades of distinct sonic legacy with balanced doses of escapism, dreamlike sounds, drones and feedback.

With a sound defined by atmosphere, precision, and heartfelt shadow and depths since 1994, Lowsunday is now asserting their presence with a new force. While the 'White EP' explored light and texture, the 'Black EP' is the darker counterpart and definitive statement. Shadow and intensity, layered guitars, tight rhythms, and austere synths, this new EP' distills the duo's vision into a sharper, more potent form — a bold declaration of their enduring artistic power.

"The 'Black EP' was an exciting record to make — it just flowed through us, as did the White EP. We have many moments on the record where we don’t understand how the songs got to where they did. We recognize that the songs are somehow more than us — that’s the magic that keeps us coming back for more. I can’t help but view this new EP like the Jungian shadow. We let ourselves indulge in some of the darkest emotions we experience -- there is a confessional nature to it," says Shane Sahene.

"Musically, it’s a natural extension of the 'White EP'. We dreamed of releasing the two EPs back to back - one white, one black -- like a big, heavy record that looks like an Oreo. The cover art makes a completed 12 x 24 image when placed one above the other. This EP series will go down as a very pivotal moment for the band in that it has cleared our emotions and let out many creative impulses."

Their crystalline shimmer, classic song structures and melodic hooks makes for and atmospheric sound that is timeless and as relevant as ever, elevating the elements that defined their earlier work. A bold evolution into more cavernous soundscapes, oscillating between walls of chaotic feedback and fragile, ethereal passages, their resurgence delves into shadowy and vast acoustic realms, shifting from abrasive ripples of distortion to brittle, shoegaze-infused moments of intense longing.

Bobby Spell shares, "For me, this EP is deceptive, opening with energetic and wistful 'You’re So Wired' but followed by songs that are melancholy and introspective. These are the strongest songs we’ve yet done. With strong and memorable melodies, they invoke feelings of isolation (not a new theme for us) and sadness, but in a way that feels familiar instead of depressing, leaving a sense of hope".

As of May 15th, the 'Low Sunday Ghost Machine - Black EP' is available across digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the limited edition 7" of 'Static / Besides', can also be ordered. The vinyl edition of the album (limited to 200 copies), released on May 29th, can be pre-ordered via Bandcamp and the Projekt Records website.

About WARLORD

Warlord was born in 1981 as the brainchild of guitarist/songwriter William J Tsamis and drummer Mark Zonder. Widely celebrated as one of the pioneers of epic metal and despite being unable to have a constant presence as a live act (due to Tsamis’ personal ongoing health issues), over the years Warlord has amassed a massive following in the metal world. Bill Tsamis sadly passed away on May 2021. Now reborn with a lineup including founding member Mark Zonder, longtime member Giles Lavery… plus Jimmy Waldo, Eric Juris, Diego Pires and Stefano Pascolino… Warlord rises out of the ashes once again, ready to embark on their first ever North American tour.

MADBALL RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM NOT YOUR KINGDOM; LEAD SINGLE 'REBEL KIDS' OUT NOW!

NYHC kings Madball remain one of the few legacy acts capable of seamlessly bridging the gap between the old-school era and the modern heavy music landscape. To say hardcore is in the band’s DNA is an understatement—it is their lifeblood. On their tenth studio album, Not Your Kingdom which will be released on July 24th via Nuclear Blast, the band delivers their trademark tales of survival, but with a deeper, more introspective edge. The lyrics offer a raw look into Freddy Cricien’s perspective on the current state of the world and the human condition, marking their most personal release to date.

The first glimpse into the album arrives with 'Rebel Kids.' An anthemic track at its core, it leans into the band’s classic groove and unrelenting energy while striking a chord with the new generation of hardcore fans. The accompanying music video was co-directed by Freddy Cricien and Dave Causa, with Causa also handling filming and editing duties.

MADBALL's Freddy Cricien comments, "Funny enough, Rebel Kids was the first track written for this album and actually was completely put together probably 2 years ago … or so. The sentiment, vibe and message of the song really became the catalyst for what came after. We all loved the song immediately but I couldn’t have known it would be the first single. We have several songs that we feel could be first “out of the gate”.  But in the end Rebel Kids made the most sense musically, lyrically etc. We look forward to releasing this song and album. It’s a special one for us and we’re hoping the rest of the world feels the same once they hear it!"

REPENTANCE Announce New Album Retaliate Unleash Crushing Title Track as First Single!

Chicago metal outfit REPENTANCE has announced their upcoming third full-length album Retaliate, set for release on July 17th, 2026 via Noble Demon. Alongside the announcement, the band has unleashed the record’s title track as the first single, offering an intense glimpse into what promises to be their most hard-hitting and focused release to date.

"'Retaliate' is a straight punch to the teeth. Coming out swinging", vocalist Adam Gilley comments about the track. "This song has that take no prisoners intensity and hooks. So tune in and turn that sh** up!!!!"

Stream the single below:

Formed in 2018 by guitarist Shaun Glass (ex-Soil, Dirge Within), REPENTANCE have steadily carved out a name for themselves in the modern metal landscape with a sound built on groove, heavy riffs, technical precision, and unrelenting intensity. Emerging from the Chicago scene, the band quickly gained traction on the live circuit, sharing stages with acts such as Trivium, DevilDriver, Jinjer, Sacred Reich, and Toxic Holocaust, among others.

Their debut album God For A Day (2020) received strong critical attention, leading to a worldwide signing with German label Noble Demon in 2021. This partnership marked a new chapter for the band, beginning with the EP Volume I - Reborn (2021), which introduced vocalist Adam Gilley and featured a guest appearance from Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu.

In 2023, REPENTANCE followed up with their sophomore album The Process of Human Demise, a record that further solidified their reputation for blending groove metal intensity with modern thrash precision. Produced by Alex Lackner and mixed/mastered by Chris Collier, the album also featured guest contributions from Corey Beaulieu and Milo Silvestro (Fear Factory), drawing comparisons to genre heavyweights such as Pantera and Lamb of God.

Now, with "Retaliate", the band push their sound even further. Once again produced by Alex Lackner at Accelerated Sound, the record was mixed by Ari Mihalopoulos at Inner Light Studio - a pairing that brings both familiarity and a fresh sonic perspective to the band's most aggressive material yet. The album arrives with punishing groove and nonstop aggressive hooks, pushing the band's sound forward while staying rooted in the intensity that has defined them since day one.

"Retaliate" will be released digitally on July 17 via Noble Demon and is available for pre-save at THIS LOCATION.

A COLD PARADISE Release Music Video For Brand-New Single “Here I Rise”!

Modern metal act A COLD PARADISE have released a new music video for their latest single “Here I Rise”. The project is led by Antonio Calanna, known to many metal fans as the former vocalist of ALL FOR METAL. Marking a bold new chapter, the track combines modern heaviness, emotional intensity and soaring energy into a powerful statement of intent.

Driven by massive riffs, cinematic atmosphere and an uncompromising performance, “Here I Rise” perfectly captures the core identity of A COLD PARADISE. The song reflects themes of growth, resilience and transformation while channeling raw emotion into an explosive and deeply personal listening experience.

This song captures exactly what A Cold Paradise stands for: the will to grow, to rise, and to turn emotion into something powerful. It’s raw, energetic, and unapologetically intense.”

Watch the video clip below:

A COLD PARADISE is a modern alternative metal band founded in 2025 by Antonio Calanna, signed to Perception – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. The project was born from a desire to emphasize atmosphere, melody, and emotional depth within heavy music, without compromising its force.

Rooted in genuine feeling, A COLD PARADISE builds its sound from the inside out, letting emotion guide both songwriting and production. Heavy riffs collide with expressive melodies, cinematic atmospheres, and carefully woven electronic elements that shape the emotional arc of each song. The band works with a defined collective identity: music, lyrics, and visuals all feed into the same artistic world, where storytelling, contrast, and emotional weight matter as much as the breakdowns. Living in the tension between vulnerability and force, A COLD PARADISE blends modern metal and rock with immersive textures to create a dynamic, evocative, and unmistakably human sound.

Ray Hawthorne Has Had The Worst Week On New Single "Head Spin"

Pop punk's most lovable liability, Ray Hawthorne, returns with yet again, another new single for people who are holding it together using only spite and a good chorus. Fresh off the hometown wreckage of "Burn New Jersey Down" ft Pete Zen and his sophomore album, "Ray Hawthorne Isn't Real", the Los Angeles-based renegade has today delivered "Head Spin", a dizzy, bruising portrait of being broke, exhausted, and tethered to someone who keeps holding you back. Fans can listen to the new single Below.

Guitars up front and a chant that hits like a mantra you didn't mean to memorize, "Head Spin" finds Ray Hawthorne unraveled and running on nothing. Serving as the fifth single of his latest era, "Head Spin" is a reminder that someone should probably check on him, but not before the album is announced.

In lieu of talking about the music, Ray Hawthorne would like to discuss his career goals:

"I like to solve mysteries. If I wasn’t a full time world famous rock star, I’d most likely be a detective. Or a bounty hunter. Or both. I’m always solving mysteries, so recently I looked into what qualifications are necessary to be a private investigator in the state of California. It’s easier than you might think, but still somewhat complicated. First off, you have to be at least 18 years old. I’ve got that. Then you have to pass a criminal background check. I’ve most likely got that. But to cap it all off, you need to have at least three years (or 6,000 hours) of PAID qualifying investigative experience. What the fuck? I’m sorry, here I am trying to be a legitimately licensed private investigator and you’re telling me I should have and COULD have ALREADY been taking money for my services??? Do you have any idea how many mysteries I solve on a weekly basis for fucking free?? Shit goes missing around the house, I’ve got suspects and a clue board set up in under five minutes. Let a motherfucker try to cheat on my best friend, I’ll have everybody’s headshots and last three addresses in a spreadsheet that night. Some asshole quits my friend’s band and screws everyone over in the process, I’ve already plotted where the fire exits are around their apartment building in case of any “accidents.” These are just a few examples of my determination and mystery solving acumen. So with all this in mind, I need your help. Let’s say my new song, Head Spin, is actually a coded message I’m putting out into the world. And let’s say you receive that message. Let’s say this message resonates with you and helps you on a level that only a private investigator could. Almost like I’ve investigated your music taste and supplied you with something you’d enjoy. It would make sense to me that, in that specific scenario, the proceeds I make from such a song could arguably count as paid investigative work. And the amount of time spent listening to such a song could arguably count toward the mandatory 6,000 hours of paid investigative work. YOU could be the reason that I’m finally able to become a full time mystery solving punk rock private investigator.

That’s it. That’s all I have to say.”

Renowned for his work in North Kingsley, the acclaimed project alongside Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down, Hawthorne initially captured hearts as the Heartbreak Hero with his inaugural solo release "Heartbreak Feels Good in a Place Like This". Building on his solo work, his debut record "Ray Hawthorne Sucks" further cemented his status as a bold new voice in pop punk, quickly amassing a devoted following and over 20 million streams across all streaming platforms for his magnetic charm and razor-sharp wit.

Blending heartbreak, sarcasm, and just the right amount of emotional stability, Ray Hawthorne leads with a messy kind of hope, turning emotional freefall into something you can scream along to. Where debut album and his firstborn, "Ray Hawthorne Sucks", leaned into an earnest DIY vulnerability, his latest record, "Ray Hawthorne Isn't Real", took a turn and tapped into the restless defiance of a secondborn. The 15 tracks helped embrace the chaos, laugh at the pain, and maybe, just maybe, allow us all to find a little redemption along the way.

Starting from the very real possibility that Ray Hawthorne is just a guy screaming into the ether (and somehow making it sound catchy), his catalog has become a refuge for anyone who's ever felt too loud, too sensitive, or too much. Loud, petty, and deeply cathartic, Ray Hawthorne is proudly one of the most unapologetically honest voices modern pop-punk.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Ray Hawthorne news coming very soon.

The Ghoulstars Premiere The Dark Overlords of the Universe

Flying saucers, a pet werewolf, Ghostbustin’ proton streams,  joyrides in the Cadillac that once belonged to Children of Bodom vocalist and guitarist Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho. Meet The Ghoulstars, a fresh - and frightening blast from pop-culture’s past. Since beaming down onto their native haunt of Finland, these horror punks have tantalized crowds and captured the attention of CNN, Metal Hammer and other international press with their monstrously catchy mash-up of metal, punk and cult classics. Their blockbuster debut album, The Dark Overlords of the Universe, hits shelves tomorrow, Friday, May 15.

“It’s like a delicious kid’s cereal that has a shockingly healthy nutritional label and way more fiber than you remember: it’s good shit”, New Noise attests in an interview with The Ghoulstars guitarist Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso.

Lucky ghouls can hear all of The Dark Overlords of the Universebefore the album comes out tomorrow by listening to the full album stream today on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

The Dark Overlords of the Universe is a love letter to our fifteen-year-old selves”, Laakso says. “It’s crammed with headbanging metal riffs, shout-along punk rock choruses, B-movie Easter eggs, ‘80s aesthetics, surprising curveballs and the sheer joy of all the pieces falling into the right places. Move over, Rover, and let the ghouls take over!”.

Despite their ghostly appearance, The Ghoulstars are a collection of real talent. Axeman Daddy Ghoul and goose-bumping drummer Toni “Ghoulio” Ronkainen shared a past life together in Kuolemanlaakso. Bassist Markus “Hella Ghoul” Makkonen formerly haunted the low end for Hooded Menace while moonhowler Arthur “LL Ghoul A” Thure croons for the stoner rockers Thermate.

While the initial inspiration for The Ghoulstars came after burning rubber to Venom, The Dark Overlords of the Universe is possessed by a love for everything that blew the band’s minds as kids. The title track crosses surf beats, heavy riffing and a hair-raising transition into a chorus that’s absolutely to die for. With Mötley Crüe’s pomp and the can’t-do attitude of Twisted Sister roaming its halls, lead single “Too Ghoul for School” is jam-packed with more fun-filled ‘80s antics than Saturday afternoon detention.

“The record is unique, catchy and a really fun listen”, says Triptykon guitarist and vocalist V. Santura, who mixed and mastered The Dark Overlords of the Universe.

The Misfits, White Zombie and other cultishly beloved touchstones like The Wolfman jump out during the album’s crisp 34-minute runtime. “Graverobbers from Outer Space” pays homage to an Ed Wood B-horror classic with a headbanging chorus, though not many straight-up punk rippers are enlivened by a doomy C-part and güiro. The Ghoulstars also enter original plots into horror’s hallowed crypt. Set amidst the cruel unfeeling world of the Wild West, “The Dead in Purgatory” rides a galloping melody after Morricone’s heart into a sunset that’s colored by the fifty shades of Volbeat.

The Ghoulstars may be undead, but there’s nothing pale or lifeless about The Dark Overlords of the Universe. Thanks to the rapid anticipation around the album, the band have signed to Nem Agency, which is one of the largest music promoters in Finland. Keep your eyes peeled for more live dates coming soon!

VRSTY Drop "face down"

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") are fearless when it comes to experimenting with musical boundaries — effortlessly blurring, blending, and bending the lines between genres to craft their own unique brand of alt pop, hard rock, and R&B. It doesn't have a name but it's DNA-distinct, and distinctly VRSTY.

Today, they share the new single "face down." Listen to the chill yet thumping track with a massive breakdown, below

"This was the last song we wrote for the record and the first that everybody fell in love with," says Joey Tyler. "Oddly enough, this was also the quickest song we wrote. We did it in about an hour but sometimes those songs just hit harder. There's something special about just naturally vibing with a song and it all coming together on its own. At its core, this song is also just the most relatable to me. It's about two people who simply cannot figure it out but chose to stay regardless — because why not?"

It follows the funky, '80s-inspired jam "ez2find," featuring The Home Team's Brian Butcher and Issues' Skyler Accord. Check out the groove-driven track here. It's quite the bop — it's the closest thing you'll find to a rock 'n' roll dancefloor jam! The song resonated greatly with the band's following on social media, gathering in excess of 530,000 views across creators. Check them out here, herehere, and here.

Tyler says, "I wrote this song about feeling like every show I've ever played is a one-night stand. You get one chance to impress people and make them love you enough to want to keep talking about you and keep them coming back. It's a wild feeling. This was also my first time working with Skyler Accord (Issues) and Brian Butcher (The Home Team). They both made it such a smooth and fun experience."

Smooth, indeed. The song is powered by old school R&B rhythms with a modern flair and Tyler's buttery smooth vocals. When he sings the chorus, "I'll be easy to find // Catch me running through your mind," it'll take up real estate in your brain long after the final note has faded out.

ABOUT VRSTY:
VRSTY make music as energetic and richly diverse as the city that spawned them. Assembled by band leader Joey Varela, a Puerto Rican singer from New York City raised on R&B, pop, and Spanish music and equally inspired by metallic post-hardcore, VRSTY blend genres with fearless ambition and visceral enthusiasm. A handful of EPs preceded 2020's debut album, Welcome Home, itself followed by a three-part series of sequel EPs solidifying the band's reputation.

VRSTY specialize in what Kerrang! described as "endless grooves and danceable parts, punctuated by breakdowns and completed with dark atmosphere." Meanwhile, "Massive," from 2020's Cloud City EP, remained the Most Played on SiriusXM's Octane for two consecutive weeks. In a 9/10 review, Outburn described Welcome Home as "effortless, fun, and above all genuine." Blabbermouth raved, "While other bands may have introduced the concept of genre-bending, VRSTY have refined it."

Levitate, the band's sophomore set, was powered by spirited conviction and a commitment to follow their muse wherever it leads. Tyler co-produced Levitate with Justin Deblieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White, Lorna Shore, Fit For A King).

VRSTY have commanded the crowd anytime they perform, connecting with anyone who struggles with feelings of low self-worth, bad relationships, or generally feels like an outsider. It’s a feeling of shared community evident on the band's tours with the likes of 10 Years, Nonpoint, Secrets, and For The Fallen Dreams, among others.

Ultimately, VRSTY aim to encourage, provoke, and inspire listeners in the next era of their career — with more music on the way in 2026.

DREW BALDRIDGE IS BRINGING COUNTRY MUSIC BACK TO THE FARMLAND WITH EXCLUSIVE TOUR STOPS

Following the announcement of his upcoming FARM FAITH FAMILY Tour, Drew Baldridge revealed today that he will once again bring live music directly to rural fans by giving them the chance to win free private concerts on their own farms. Fans can enter HERE

Baldridge first launched the idea during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, when he began performing intimate backyard concerts for fans across the country, ultimately playing more than 400 shows. What started as a handful of performances quickly grew into a grassroots movement that helped define a new chapter of his career.

“A few years ago, I posted on social media asking if anyone wanted me to come play in their backyard,” said Baldridge. “Over the span of three years, I received more than 20,000 messages. I only intended to do a few shows, but it grew beyond my wildest dreams. I miss those personal, intimate performances, so being able to give back to the fans who supported me during that time is something I can’t wait to do. We want to visit farms and small towns that may not regularly get concerts at theaters, amphitheaters, or arenas — people who grew up in communities just like I did.”

The tour will feature songs including his current radio single, “Rebel,” which continues climbing the charts following his Top 10 hit “Tough People” and history-making No. 1 single “She's Somebody's Daughter.” Baldridge also recently released his new song, “Love Needs You,” written alongside Josh Thompson and Matt Dragstrem. Inspired by memories of his early relationship with his wife Katie in his hometown of Patoka, Illinois, population 550, the song reflects on the simple moments that helped shape their life together as parents of two young boys. Get it HERE.

These select farm concerts will be woven into his headlining FARM FAITH FAMILY Tour, with tickets available now at DrewBaldridgeMusic.com

The 14-date headline run kicks off June 11 in Omaha, Nebraska, and wraps October 18 in Newport Beach, California. Support will come from Alyssa Flaherty and Chase Wright on select dates.

He will also bring the spirit of FARM FAITH FAMILY back home to Patoka on September 19 for the fourth annual The BIG Baldridge and Bonfire. The one-day country music festival celebrates his grassroots Baldridge and Bonfires Tour. First launched in 2022 with three consecutive nights, the event returns in 2026 following a one-year hiatus. Kingdom Collapse Announce "Survivor" Album Out 10/30 + Share "Survivor" Video

Kingdom Collapse create the soundtrack to survival. The San Antonio, TX hard rock band alchemizes unfathomable tragedy, trauma, and loss into massive and magnetic anthems powered by pummeling instrumentation and arena-size hooks that remind you to never give up.

Today, the band is thrilled to announce its new album Survivor, which arrives October 30 via Mascot Records. Pre-save it here.

The band also shared the video for the impactful and anthemic title track. It will hit you in all the feels. Watch it below

"I wrote 'Survivor' while looking back at times of struggle and loss in my life," states singer Jonathan Norris. "I realized that those experiences made me who I am today. We want our fans to know that whatever life puts in your path, you can overcome."

Bassist Aaron Smith shares, "'Survivor' is an anthem for all of humanity. Whether it's big or small, we all have challenges in our lives. Optimism is the key for getting through the storms that life brings our way. With a positive mindset and a fighting mentality, we can all be 'Survivors.'"

Kingdom Collapse originated out of the childhood friendship between aforementioned vocalist Norris and Smith, who grew up together, found music around the same time, and recognized its power after Jonathan endured the loss of his father at eight-years-old.

In order to cope, he immediately retreated into music and the embrace of a small community — which included Aaron's family. This was the turning point where both boys realized the power of friendship, the power of music, and their potential together.  "I saw my father die right in front of my eyes," Jonathan sighs. "I didn't even know what was happening. In some ways, that darkness has never left. Music became my light. I connected with it, and it gave me hope for the future. Kingdom Collapse is a band that carries that torch."

Jonathan and Aaron each made the rounds in local bands and even collaborated a few times on short-lived projects. When they finally joined forces in Kingdom Collapse, it was as if everything they'd gone through as friends prepared them to make a statement together.

Jonathan tapped Aaron to play bass, and they rounded out the lineup by welcoming guitarist David Work and drummer Gaston Flores into the fold. Their quiet and devoted grind paid off when their breakout track "Uprise" resonated on a global scale, gathering 5 million-plus Spotify streams and bulldozing the way for 2022's independent Unbreakable EP. The latter housed their biggest single to date "Unbreakable," which has generated north of 11 million Spotify streams and hit No. 1 on Octane. Unafraid to put in the work, the four-piece didn't bother with day jobs and went all-in on music, hitting the road for hundreds of shows a year. They shared stages with everyone from Three Days Grace and Nothing More to From Ashes To New, Fire From The Gods, ATTACK ATTACK!, and Adelita's Way.

In 2025, they caught the attention of Mascot Records and inked a deal with the label. Now, Kingdom Collapse hold nothing back on their new single.

Kingdom Collapse are touring through the summer. The band will also hit several festivals in the summer.

Savage Hands & Of Virtue Unite For The Art Of Love And Power Tour This Summer!

This summer, two of heavy music's most compelling forces are hitting the road for The Art Of Love And Power Tour, a co-headlining run that is set to be one of the most unmissable heavy tours of the year. Maryland alt-metal catalysts, Savage Hands, and Michigan metalcore outfit, Of Virtue, have today announced the 27-date North American trek, with tickets available for purchase HERE.

Kicking off on July 16 in Greensboro, NC and closing out on August 21 in Nashville, TN, The Art Of Love And Power Tour will see both bands trading headlining slots each night to give fans two high caliber sets under one roof. The first half of the tour will feature support from Set For Tomorrow, with Kingdom Collapse joining for the second half. Sorry X will also be supporting on all dates.

On hitting the road this summer for The Art Of Love And Power Tour, vocalist Mike Garrow of Savage Hands shares:

"We’re stoked to run our first co-headliner across the entire country with some of our greatest friends. You all have been asking for this and here it is."

Speaking on the band's excitement for The Art Of Love And Power Tour, vocalist Tyler Ennis of Of Virtue adds:

"Mikey and I have been friends going back to our days being on SharpTone together! We have always talked about touring together and the opportunity finally has presented itself. “The Art of Love & Power” is going to be a massive ripper and we’re so excited to have Kingdom Collapse, Set For Tomorrow and Sorry X along for this amazing journey!

You’ll be able to hear our newest singles Death of the Altar, The Art Of Love and a few more bangers from our newest record. This tour will be the last time some of your favorite songs off of Omen as well so grab your tickets and we can’t wait to see you this Summer!"

With over 55 million streams to their name, Savage Hands arrive at 2026 on the back of a landmark year, signing to Oxide Music, earning the largest crowd of their stage at Louder Than Life, and opening for heavyweights Attack Attack!. Guided by producers Andrew Baylis and Lee Rouse, the quintet have carved out a hybrid sound that dissolves the lines between post-hardcore, metalcore, and alternative rock, and with "POWER" leading the charge into 2026, the best is still to come.

Of Virtue arrive on the heels of one of their strongest years yet, with singles "Death Of The Altar" and "The Art Of Love", building on the momentum of their 2023 record, "OMEN", which has surpassed 65 million streams since its release. Long-standing advocates for mental health awareness, the band have shared stages with Slipknot, Bad Omens, Nothing More, and Three Days Grace, and have performed at festivals across 35 countries.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Savage Hands and Of Virtue news coming very soon.

CROBOT Dive Headfirst into “Trouble” with New Single and Video from Supermoon Album

“Trouble” is the kind of song you’d be proud blowing the speakers out of that ‘69 Nova (or that 2024 Prius…) - either way, this one is made to be jammed LOUD.  This brand new CROBOT track off of their new record Supermoon features the fuzzed-out, wooly intro riff from guitarist Chris Bishop, Brandon Yeagley’s moon-beaming vocal screams, and the funkified and unified rhythmic brotherhood of Nico and Willie Jansen on drums and bass. “Trouble” stares danger right in the face and asks it to stay a little while longer, just to see what happens.

Rock heavyweights CROBOT recently released their highly anticipated new album, Supermoon, arriving today which has received significant media coverage. Known for their thunderous riffs, infectious hooks, and larger than life swagger, the band returns with a record that is both a natural evolution and a bold expansion of their sonic identity.

With Supermoon, CROBOT tap into something bigger, something louder, dirtier, and undeniably cosmic. The album channels the band’s raw energy into a collection of tracks that blend crushing hard rock, fuzzed out grooves, and psychedelic textures into an experience that feels as expansive as it is explosive.

Lyrically and sonically, the album reflects a band fully locked in confident, creative, and ready to take listeners on a ride that’s as electrifying as it is immersive. Whether it’s the swaggering, riff driven stompers or the more expansive, mood driven moments, Supermoon proves CROBOT are operating at full power.

CRIMSON STEEL Release Lyric Video For "No Absolution", Announce New Album Show No Fear

An explosive offering awaits from the Raleigh, NC, based ensemble CRIMSON STEEL. As the band gear up to unveil their forthcoming full length album, Show No Fear, CRIMSON STEEL present their first single release in "No Absolution". Show No Fear is set to arrive on October 2, 2026, via Heaven and Hell Records.

"No Absolution" showcases the dynamic characteristics of CRIMSON STEEL's sound. While inspired by traditional styles, progressive metal and power metal, the single delivers a modern feel. "No Absolution" provides haunting melodic moments alongside ferocious rhythms. Throughout the track, emotional vulnerability is entwined with heavy power.

Lyrically, CRIMSON STEEL delve into themes surrounding guilt, condemnation, and spiritual isolation. The imagery evokes a sense of a being who is trapped with their own internal suffering, unable to atone or make amends for past actions. "No Absolution" explores an inability to escape from the torment that exists within oneself.

CRIMSON STEEL focus on storytelling through their music. Each track across the album contributes to the larger emotional narrative experience. At its core, Show No Fear explores the human experience often drawing on fantasy and mythical imagery to convey the central themes of fear, transformation, power, and perseverance.

Show No Fear was produced by Wendy Brancaccio and recorded and mixed at Vintage Noise Studio with Wendy Brancaccio and Bill Spears. The album was mastered by Anthony Focx. Cover artwork and design for Show No Fearis by Johnathan @gerardster.

Guest vocals on “Bleed into One” were provided by James Rivera, recorded at Hombre Malo Studio and engineered by Larry Barragán.

About CRIMSON STEEL:

With a style rooted firmly in classic metal, Raleigh, NC based CRIMSON STEEL combine elements from traditional metal and power metal to produce a high octane sound with a modern feel. Initially formed in 2022 by bassist Joel McGee, the quartet draws influence primarily from the likes of JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE, CRIMSON GLORY, and QUEENSRŸCHE.

Alongside McGee is vocalist Tina Langevin, both of whom performed together as teenagers before unexpectedly reconnecting in this new musical endeavor. The line-up is completed with David Ryan on guitars and backing vocals, along with Will Adkins delivering percussion in addition to backing vocal duties.

Entwining story-driven songwriting with the intense energy of crowd-participation and the live stage, CRIMSON STEEL is preparing to unveil their debut album Show No Fear on October 2, 2026, via Heaven and Hell Records.

Erdve Unleash Reckoning on New Single "Epigrama"

Erdve are releasing the title track from their upcoming third album Epigrama. Following previous singles "Nyra" and "Ydos”. “Epigrama” follows the album's arc from grief and moral decay to existential reckoning.

Watch the visualizer for “Epigrama” below:

Epigrama comes out May 29, 2026 on Season of Mist.

Pre-order & pre-save

https://orcd.co/erdveepigrama

"Epigrama" articulates the philosophical nucleus of Erdve’s new album. Where "Nyra" traced the suffocating cycle of unresolved grief and "Ydos" charted the corrosive progression of regret into stagnation, the title track turns toward accountability. Every decision, or absence of decision, carries an unavoidable debt. The band’s new single moves through the confines of understanding toward a point where clarity and madness become indistinguishable, framing entropy as a governing moral condition.

ERDVE is a metal band from Vilnius, Lithuania, experimenting with extreme music since 2016.

In 2017, the band signed a record contract with SEASON OF MIST records, who later released their debut album VAITOJIMAS (translated as: Moaning). The album has set a strong foundation for the band to keep pushing the limits of creativity within the framework of heavy, yet atmospheric metal iterations.

Their second album SAVIGAILA (translated as: Self-loathing) was released by Season of Mist in 2021, and has presented a different and more abrasive approach towards composing and storytelling, focusing on the intensity, unpredictability and drama.

The band is known to dive into unexpected ventures by choosing to perform in places that intuitively seem incoherent to the type of music being played or are not considered to be regular venues. First such show took place in the church of St. John's 2019 and another one in Lukiškės Ex-Prison, both in Vilnius, Lithuania.

After the second album, the band took some time to rediscover their relationship with music and identified the elements that would convey their future vision in the most truthful way. This idea is followed by their 2026 release - EPIGRAMA, that delivers a familiar, yet a fundamentally different approach towards experimenting within the confines of heavy music and reflective storytelling. The goal was to craft a meticulous consistency between the music, lyrics and sound production, where every aspect of the song works together to create meaningful impact. This album marks a new beginning for ERDVE, in the process of rediscovery, experimentation and raw expression.

SEA SLEEPER Release New Track “Manifestor” From Upcoming Album Burden of Antlers

SEA SLEEPER has return with “Manifestor,” an ambitious, eight-minute journey that marks the band’s most expansive and progressive work to date. The track is the latest preview of their forthcoming sophomore album, Burden of Antlers, set for release on September 18, 2026.

Clocking in as the longest song the band has ever written, “Manifestor” captures Sea Sleeper at their most dynamic, shifting through a wide spectrum of moods while maintaining a striking sense of cohesion. Themes and motifs introduced in the opening minutes resurface and evolve throughout the track, creating a circular, immersive listening experience.

“Manifestor” offers a powerful glimpse into Burden of Antlers, Sea Sleeper’s second full-length release. Building on the foundation of their debut Nostophobia, the new album represents a more deliberate and cohesive creative vision. Rather than chasing constant change, the band leans into revisiting and expanding musical passages, exploring ideas in full and allowing them to evolve organically.

Formed by three longtime collaborators who have spent nearly 15 years crafting their take on heavy, unconventional metal, Sea Sleeper recently expanded their lineup with the addition of Tony Spradlin. The result is a tighter, more focused unit pushing deeper into the strange and weighty sound they’ve always aimed to create.

Burden of Antlers arrives September 18, 2026.

About SEA SLEEPER:

With a passion for death and post metal, SEA SLEEPER infuse their heavy sound with an array of genre influences to produce something more dynamically extreme. The band formed in 2019 comprised of Jesse Cooley (guitar/lead vocals), Shane Cooley (drums/vocals), and Nick Kessler (bass/vocals), with Tony Spradlin (lead guitar/vocals) subsequently completing the line-up in 2022.

The debut EP Nihilism was released independently in 2019, followed by their acclaimed debut album Nostophobia. Released in 2021 via Metal Assault Records, Nostophobia garnered notable recognition achieving #10 album of the year for Noob Heavy and #7 spot for album of the year at GBHBL in 2021, as well as seeing the band become a Top Selling Bandcamp artist in the same year.

GREEN LUNG RETURN WITH FOURTH ALBUM, NECROPOLITAN + UNVEIL 'EVIL IN THIS HOUSE'

The funeral bell is tolling, the ravens have left the tower - the long-awaited fourth album from the UK’s lords of the riff is finally upon us. Necropolitan will be released on Friday September 11th 2026 by Nuclear Blast Records. A monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, Necropolitan is also a grand celebration of the occult lore and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London.

With producer Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Ghost) at the helm, this time handling everything from recording to mixing, the band decamped to Rockfield Studios in January 2026, following in the muddy footprints of some of their key inspirations, from Black Sabbath to Queen to Judas Priest. Sonically, they were set on capturing their megalithic live sound more accurately than ever - stripping back their usual dense, multilayered arrangements to their rawest, leanest form and recording much of the album live to capture their Sabbathian heaviness, frenzied Hammonds and haunting Mellotrons as faithfully as possible.

The result is an album that combines the soaring hookiness of This Heathen Land with an uncompromising rawness and heaviness, and takes the band’s distinctive brand of sonic storytelling to macabre new heights.

If, a year after Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning show and the death of Ozzy Osbourne, you had any doubts about the future of traditional British metal, Necropolitan will lay them to rest. Here is a band taking the torch from the heavy metal godfathers and running with it, bursting with all the musicianship and storytelling flair that has kept the genre’s flame burning for a half-century, and using it to temper a lyrical and sonic world that is entirely their own.

Lead single ‘Evil in this House’ answers the question ‘what would it sound like if a stoner metal band carried out a paranormal investigation?’, complete with a monstrously Sabbathian riff and an ectoplasmic synth solo. An accompanying music video inspired by 70s haunted house movies premieres on YouTube today.

This Saturday, Green Lung will be headlining the UK’s premier stoner rock, doom, sludge, and psychedelic metal festival Desertfest London. You can also catch them on June 25th at Manchester Academy, with Acid Bath and Conan.

Green Lung: Summer 2026

15 May - UK  London, Desertfest London
25 June - UK  Manchester, Manchester Academy

*supporting Acid Bath

A cult band in every sense of the word, Green Lung emerged from London’s heavy rock scene with self-released debut EP Free the Witch (2018).

Drawing on a host of peculiarly British musical influences, from doomy hard rock to pastoral prog and psych to the Hammer Horror theatrics of the NWOBHM, the band have swiftly risen to the forefront of the UK metal scene.

Lyrically celebrating the folklore, myths and legends of Britain, they conjure the wild and witchy spirit of their forebears for a new generation.

Green Lung have released three critically acclaimed albums, Woodland Rites (2019), Black Harvest (2021) and This Heathen Land (2023). They have toured internationally with Clutch, Opeth and Unto Others, and performed on festival stages from Roadburn to Download. Their latest album This Heathen Land landed at #1 on the UK’s Official Rock and Metal Album Chart.

Exploring Birdsong Release Video for New Single "Spy in the House of Love"

Progressive alt-pop outfit Exploring Birdsong have today released their new single "Spy In The House Of Love," the latest track taken from their upcoming debut album Every House We Built, out June 26 via Long Branch Records.

Speaking of the track, vocalist Lynsey Ward shares, "I came across the book 'Spy in the House of Love' by accident one day, and immediately felt compelled by how the phrase had organized a lot of messy feelings while being in the throes of a heavy break-up. There is actually very little that the book and our song have in common, but discovering it did catalyze a great deal of focus creatively and personally. Everyone at some stage has felt confused or betrayed in heartbreak, and we are far from the first to write a song about it. It is quite new territory for us, though!"

On their debut full-length Every House We Built, Exploring Birdsong step into their most vulnerable and personal chapter yet, shifting from conceptual storytelling to an intimate exploration of human connection.

At its core, the album reflects on relationships in all forms, friendships, family and romance, using the metaphor of houses to explore how bonds are carefully built over time but can fracture just as easily. This idea of fragile architecture runs throughout, with recurring imagery of homes, spaces and foundations giving the record a cohesive emotional thread.

Across the album, the band draw directly from lived experience, moving through themes of anxiety, toxic dynamics, inherited grief, longing and absence, while also capturing moments of warmth, hope and self-realisation. It balances emotional intensity with moments of restraint, shifting between vulnerability, anger and reflection.

Central to the record is the sense that even the strongest connections can reveal hidden cracks, leading to collapse and loss. Yet, it ultimately resists despair. Instead, it closes on a note of renewal, suggesting that despite everything that breaks down, there is still value in building, trusting and starting again.

Every House We Built is a deeply human debut about what we create with others, what we lose, and the quiet resilience it takes to rebuild.

Exploring Birdsong will embark on a headline UK tour this September, playing their biggest headline shows to date.
