Heilung Announce Podcast

Heilung are known around the world for transcending the boundaries of sound and history. Since forming in 2015, the Nordic collective have made their unmistakable presence felt everywhere from the Billboard charts to Glastonbury, The Game Awards and major Hollywood films. Their performance rituals draw crowds into an intimate, mystical space that threads together earth, fire and incense with throat singing, primordial rhythms, subtle electronic textures, a mesmerizing light show and instruments made from human bone.

Today, Heilung are inviting both fans and newcomers to step into their world, where history and spirit converge, by announcing their first-ever podcast. Hosted by founding member, singer and shamanic practitioner Kai Uwe Faust, The Podcast journeys into the lore, traditions and primal forces that shape Heilung and their Amplified History. The first episode is dedicated to “Afladhirhait”, which opens their debut album Ofnir and is featured on their latest live album Lifa Iotungard .

Cryptopsy Featured on Cover of Decibel Magazine

Fresh off slitting through a largely sold-out European headline tour, Cryptopsy remain insatiable as ever. The most vile band in death metal are nominated for Best Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year at this year’s JUNO Awards, a category that they won just two years ago. LA-based alt-rock artist TX2 has today released his debut album End Of Us via Hopeless Records. The 13-track album features collaborations with Black Veil Brides, Magnolia Park, Ice Nine Kills, DeathbyRomy, and Ekoh, and arrives after a decade of building one of heavy music's most polarizing and devoted fanbases. ABOUT TX2

TX2 is the project of Los Angeles-based artist Evan Thomas, known for raw, emotionally charged alt-rock that refuses to play by the rules. Since going viral on TikTok in 2023 with "I Would Hate Me Too," TX2 has amassed 1 million monthly Spotify listeners, 1.3 million TikTok followers, and a touring resume that includes opening for Beartooth, I Prevail, Killswitch Engage, Ice Nine Kills, and Parkway Drive on the Summer of Loud tour.

Thomas founded the X Movement, a community dedicated to mental health awareness and creating safe spaces for fans who feel like they don't belong. Today marks the release of Cream Of The Crap! Collected Non-Album Works • Volume 3, the newest, long-overdue entry in a series of rarities collections by Swedish high energy rockers THE HELLACOPTERS, combining rare and lesser-known material from a myriad of singles, EPs, and compilation songs. The 24 tracks featured in this set have originally been released between 1998 and 2005, most of them only on vinyl and out-of-print CDs, and include originals like ‘Disappointment Blues’, ‘Freeway To Hell’, ‘Doggone Your Bad-Luck Soul’, 'Ferrytale' and ‘Long Gone Losers’ as well as cover versions of songs by Motörhead, Wilson Pickett, MC5, Smokey Robinson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, The Ramones, The Nomads, Adam West – whose singer Jake Starr penned liner notes for this release – and many, many more. Furthermore, a lot of these songs have never been released digitally. Less than three years after their triumphant, chart-storming comeback record, Eyes Of Oblivion, which entered on #1 in their home country, on #3 in Germany, and on #6 in Finland, Sweden's most consistently great rock outfit is back with another banger of an album called Overdriver, due out on January 31st, 2025.

In the meantime, THE HELLACOPTERS have celebrated their triumphant return by playing a show with the mighty Iron Maiden in Gothenburg in July 2022, and gigs with Ghost in Germany in June 2023, apart from their own string of headline shows throughout Europe. Eager to keep the rock flowing, February 16th, 2024 saw THE HELLACOPTERS release not one, but two stunning versions of their classic Grande Rock album, which was originally released in 1999. Grande Rock Revisited included a remastered original version and a remixed and partially re-recorded version as a companion piece, showing how the album could have sounded in a parallel universe with guitarist Dregen being in the band at the time. After making rock grande again, the group set sights on new material, debuting the phenomenal single 'Stay With You'  in May 2024 and releasing it as limited 7inch via Lightning Records.

Their ninth full-length Overdriver was recorded at Strawberry Studio & The Honk Palace and is the first HELLACOPTERS album entirely produced by Nicke Andersson. As you might expect from a HELLACOPTERS album it's filled to the brim with roaring guitars and earth-shattering grooves, fist-raising energy and anthemic choruses, while keeping the variety richer than ever before. NYC's Laptop reveals “Xanadu,” a sun-soaked tale of ambition and the cost of wanting more

NYC alternative pop outfit Laptop presents 'Xanadu', the latest offering from their forthcoming album "On This Planet", which starts out sounding like a love song, but slowly reveals itself as something darker. A duet between frontman Jesse Hartman and Nevis vocalist Anna Hadeed, the track explores the American idea of settling down — building a life, owning something permanent — and how that dream can quietly go wrong. It’s less about romance than what happens when good intentions collide with money, power, and the pressure to create something lasting.

Formed in the late ’90s, Laptop released three albums with Island Records, earning praise from NME, The Guardian, and others for their stylized blend of synth-pop, irony, and emotional precision. Now revived as a contemporary project with his son Charlie Hartman, Laptop has become a vehicle for Hartman grappling openly with adulthood in this chaotic world — not as a clean resolution, but as something messier and harder to define. “Xanadu” captures the moment when the art dream runs into the desire for stability, and neither comes out untouched.

The title nods directly to Citizen Kane, where “Xanadu” names Charles Foster Kane’s vast, illusory estate — a symbol of success that ultimately exposes loneliness and regret. Laptop updates the idea for a modern American setting. In this version, Xanadu isn’t a castle; it’s a mid-century dream house, full of hope and expectation, carrying the belief that ownership might finally bring peace. This is love song disguised as a hard look at the pitfalls of American materialism.

Filmed on Oualie Beach in Nevis, where overdubs for Laptop's coming album were recorded, the video juxtaposes Hartman and Hadeed's chilled beachside duet with glossy, candy-colored visual sequences involving a separate couple. Gently mocking the modern semi-colonialist belief that paradise can be packaged, purchased, and controlled, we see a slick couple sail toward their dream, only to see it sink beneath the waters of their own ambitions and end up in flames. Kitschy postcard titles like "The Good Life” and “Live the Romance" punctuate their journey, underscoring the bitter irony of it all.

Jesse Hartman got his start as a Voidoid with Richard Hell, before founding indie rock band Sammy with Luke Wood, and releasing albums via Fire Records and Geffen Records.  Since reviving, Laptop is on a roll on the strength of the singles “Indie Hero”, "Confused", "Additional Animals", "I Don't Know" and “Weirder”, mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Julian Lennon), collectively drawing millions of views and reintroducing Laptop's humor and sounds to a new generation.

“Xanadu” will be released via Hurricane Cove Records on February 13, available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Laptop’s much-anticipated "On This Planet" album will be released on June 5. The band performs next at NYC's Mercury Lounge on April 9, along with UK rockers Art Brut.

Miss May I Share Video for New Single "Die on the Vine"

Ohio metalcore favorites MISS MAY I are thrilled to share the first taste of new music for 2026. Today, they drop the video for new single "Die on the Vine," which is full of galloping guitars, plate-shifting breakdowns, and memorable melodies.

"'Die on the Vine' captures a mid-life reckoning — coming to terms with how deeply childhood experiences and unresolved trauma shape who we become," the band explains. "The song reflects the moment where denial stops working and self-awareness sets in. If those patterns are something you have to live with, the choice becomes whether to decay under their weight or grow stronger through them. 'Die on the Vine' leans into that tension, framing survival as adaptation: sharpening your thorns over time instead of letting the damage define you."

What wise words set to a metallic maelstrom!

MMI will appear at both Inkcarceration Festival in Ohio and Rock Fest in Wisconsin this coming July. More live shows will be announced in due course.

For now, though, it's time to "Die on the Vine."

Resistor Announce New Album "BITE THIS!" + Share "Dead Soul" Video

Long Island, NY quintet RESISTOR — Anthony Grambo [vocals], Anthony Conti [guitar], Ian Schneider [bass], Anthony Arce [turntables], and Peter Smith [drums] — channel the cocky bravado of O.G. nu-metal through a prism of 21st century hardcore spiked with DJ squeals and vitriolic spitting.

"We feel 'DEAD SOUL' is the perfect introduction to this record," says Schneider. "This has been one of our favorite tracks, from its initial conception to final execution. The themes of Resistor's music have always boiled down to 'Fuck you' and 'DEAD SOUL' is no exception to that central meaning. We're so excited to finally be able to share this song with you all and hope it resonates as strongly with you as it has with us."

At the epicenter of extreme metal, hardcore, and nu metal, Resistor have patented their own pummeling sound—which they've appropriately christened "knuckle dragging wika wika core." 

They don't just flirt with breaking genre boundaries; they proudly fuck everything up in their path.

"Collaboration makes Resistor what it is," states Schneider. "Every member's hand is on the music. As a listener, you're getting these distinct sets of influences and voices all coming together. Our vision is to maintain the heaviness and the catchiness, so it's ignorant and genuine. Other than a few impacts and bass drops, everything was created by a live instrument. We pulled inspiration from the past, but it’s definitely modern and authentic."

Speaking of authentic, the band originated out of a friendship forged between Conti and Grambo. They first crossed paths at a skate park, began hanging out all of the time, and eventually decided to write songs. The lineup solidified with the addition of Smith, Schneider, and Arce. They shored up their signature style with the So It Begins EP [2023] and HEADCASE EP [2025], tallying millions of streams in the process. On the road, the group notably packed houses and emerged as an outlier with enough gusto to set it off everywhere from Gathering of the Juggalos to the Inkcarceration pre-show. Throughout 2025, they pieced together BITE THIS! with producer Randy LeBoeuf [Kublai Khan TX, The Acacia Strain, Gideon].

Ultimately, Resistor live outside the neutral zone.

Orbit Culture Release Live Video For "The Storm" + North American Tour Starts 2/18

Right before embarking on their next quest — an extensive tour throughout USA and Canada with support coming from Ov Sulfur and Atlas — ORBIT CULTURE are releasing a live video for the fan-favorite "The Storm," which was filmed by Riivata Visuals and Grimvisions during their highly successful European tour last winter.

The band comments, "This video for 'The Storm' documents our last headline tour. Most of the footage was shot in Gothenburg, close to where we come from. Watching it now brings us back to a night that carried real weight — intense, focused, and honest. It was a defining moment for us, and 'The Storm'
reflects that feeling without needing to explain it."

It marks another video for their acclaimed album Death Above Life that was released to overwhelmingly positive feedback by fans and media in October of last year.

"The album represents change, a new beginning," says guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Niklas Karlsson. "It brings up a lot of good and bad emotions but it’s a big change for the better. It feels like a rebirth."
