1349 Unleashes New Performance Video for "Striding the Chasm" from Forthcoming Live Album

True Norwegian black metal horde 1349 is now unleashing a new performance video for the song "Striding the Chasm," which is taken from the band's upcoming live album, 'Winter Mass,' via Black Metal Promotion. The blistering clip can be found below.

'Winter Mass' will be released on November 28, 2025 via Season of Mist. The concert was captured on November 20, 2021 in the band's hometown of Oslo (NO) at the venue Parkteatret.

1349 frontman Ravn comments, "'Striding The Chasm' is an emblematic track. It maintains the 1349 signature ferocity, but also adds a complexity in its approach and stands out as the most thrash-infused pinnacle in our catalog. It is the track that challenges the listener to confront their own dark and primal nature. Performing this track live was a revelation to me as the imminent connection between the song and audience became an instant hit and I feel the track's potential is enhanced even more now within a live setting, within our Live Ritual...within our 'Winter Mass.'"

Bassist Seidemann adds, "'Striding the Chasm' from 'Winter Mass' showcases 1349 in supersonic splendor. The live version is a flawlessly executed, hyperaggressive up-tempo rendition, demonstrating the black metal mastery of 1349."

The offering will be released on vinyl and CD; pre-orders are now live HERE.

1349 has also recently been announced among the first wave of bands to take the stage at next year's edition of Beyond the Gates Festival. The epic four-day metal event will take place once again in the heart of Bergen (NO) from July 29 - August 1, 2026. Tickets are available HERE.

The cover artwork and layouts for 'Winter Mass' were created by Kim Diaz Holm. The Norwegian artist has captured more than 2,000 concerts, often while standing to the side of the stage. Holm has worked with larger-than-life artists like Abbath but developed a special connection with 1349 after drawing them at both Inferno Festival and Hulen in 2012. Over the past 13 years, he has continued to document the band's incendiary live shows and even designed their merch. What he's created for Winter Mass draws fans even closer to fire. Sketched while he was headbanging in the pit, these drawings leap off the page with the same raw, dark spirit as their muse.

Now, fresh from the ashes of their eighth album, The Wolf & The King, 1349 are releasing a new live album. Though recorded shortly after pandemic lockdown was lifted, 'Winter Mass' explodes out the gates with the band’s signature aural hellfire. This hour-plus set, recorded at Oslo's Parkteatret, enraptured their home crowd with apocalyptic spells from across their discography’s massive cauldron of chaos. Early classics like “Sculptor of Flesh” thrash with unchained madness. Recent favorite "Striding the Chasm" whips by at a blistering pace that could only be captured by cover artist Kim Diaz Holm, who drew the album’s artwork while headbanging in the pit.

"I will always be here / In all ways in all times", snarls Ravn on hellacious cut "I Am Abomination". After three decades and counting, what was once a proclamation is now a testament to 1349's enduring firepower.

Experience aural hellfire live in the flesh back where it all began with 'Winter Mass.'

Manchester's INCA BABIES presents 'Two Rails To Nowhere', previewing 'Reincarnation' album

Manchester's iconic post-punk outfit Inca Babies presents 'Two Rails To Nowhere', the latest re-envisioned offering from their 'Reincarnation' album, out November 28th via Black Lagoon Records. The Spotify version of this release includes both the 2025 version and the original from 1988.

The original version of this track - found on their fourth album 'Evil Hour' from 1988 - was never given the epic grandeur that it deserved. Previously a 3-minute folk rock tune that told a small story of country woe, this expanded version is now allowed to breath into the country prison song it always wanted to be, telling a far more heroic tale.

Led by Harry Stafford, Inca Babies were a vibrant part of Britain's early postpunk / death-rock scene, amassing a steady following through five intensive years of touring, six singles and four albums, all of which entered the UK Indie Charts. After four sessions for BBC's John Peel show in 1984-1988, the band called it quits, but then reformed in 2007.

The Incas are now a 4-piece, with Stafford (guitar, keys, vocals) joined by guitarist Jim Adama, bassist Dave Carmichael (Rat) and long-term member Rob Haynes (The Membranes, Goldblade) on drums and percussion.

With bottle neck Slide from blues guitarist Vincent O'Brien and the measured rhythm backing of Rob Haynes, the song has at last been allowed it’s epic status. Through its video, the song has been given a contemporary tilt, bringing the action into the 21st century with Manchester trams and a city centre setting providing the backdrop for the mournful pleading of Harry’s vocal delivery.

"The song was a take on Western blues, in the guise of Woody Guthrie and Burl Ives, maybe having the same sorrowful tale of ‘Worried man Blues’ from the 50s. Now it has been re-recorded and slowed down to a more contemplative pace. and with floating guitars and harmonic vocal blues the story becomes all the more of the prison song it was intended to be," says Harry Stafford.

This follows 'Candy Mountain', a reworking from their 1985 album ‘This Train’, with its hypnotic bass line, contemporary groove and electronic sequencing. The road-tripping video, filmed by Jonny Stafford, escapes the urban grind to the country, where the air is sweeter and the landscape infinite.

'Reincarnation' is a collection of select Inca Babies tracks, re-recorded, re-invented and reincarnated for 2025. Recorded and mixed over two years at  6Db Studios in Salford by renowned producer Simon ‘Ding’ Archer (The Fall, PJ Harvey) and Harry Stafford, with Ding also contributing serious sonic and dub flourishes, this album was mastered by Marco Butcher at Boombox Studio in North Carolina.

"Looking through our back catalogue, it occurred to me that there were tracks that should again be made available in some manner and others that would benefit from reinvention. Last year's 'Ghost Mechanic Nine' album was an opportunity to create new music for our fans, who would like this music in the form of digital downloads and, for the truly hardcore, as a 12” Vinyl Album," says Harry Stafford.

"But it was also a realisation that we could invigorate old tunes. We already had a ‘best of’ compilation in ‘Plutonium', released in 2006, so we embarked upon a new quest, to inject new life into our favourite back catalogue. This whole project was to be an Innovative re-imagining of old tunes: re-invented for contemporary consideration. All of them Re-awakened and 'Re-inca-rnated'."

Inca Babies' journey - from their formation in 1983 in Manchester's now-legendary deck-access flats of Hulme to where they are today - was highlighted in last year's documentary 'The Making of Ghost Mechanic Nine'. Since reforming, they have released four albums and toured Europe, Russia, North America, India and beyond. They continue to explore goth, punk and death-rock jazz-blues, while paying tribute to the strong riffing and cool, dead-pan delivery of the dark wave scene at the time.

As of October 28, 'Two Rails To Nowhere' is out everywhere, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. On November 28, the full 'Reincarnation' album will be released on both CD and digitally.

Koe Wetzel Releases Howling New Song “Werewolf”

Landing just in time for Halloween, Rolling Stone’s “unpredictable wild man” Koe Wetzel releases new song “Werewolf,” giving fans the perfect opportunity to embrace their own wild side – no costume required. Listen to “Werewolf” Below.

“‘Werewolf’ is a fun way of owning all the chaos that comes with me: the good, the bad and the loud,” shares Wetzel. “We had a blast making it, and who knows – maybe it’s the start of something or maybe it’s just an opportunity to cut loose.”

Co-written by Wetzel with Bones Owens and Burgess and produced by Josh Serrato, “Werewolf” channels the raw, untamed spirit fans have come to expect from Wetzel and finds the Texas native blurring the lines between monster and man:

The new song follows “Surrounded,” released as the first taste of new music since his chart-topping 9 Lives, with standout “High Road” featuring Jessie Murph landing on year-end “Best Of” lists from the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard, LA Times, Tennessean, Holler and more. He also graced the cover of POLLSTAR and received three new RIAA certifications at the sold-out Red Rocks finale of the Damn Near Normal World Tour, which saw the rockstar perform for well over 200,000 fans globally with over 96% of all headline tickets sold – and even spawned its own live album.

About Koe Wetzel
Koe Wetzel never met a genre wall he couldn’t tear down. The Texan singer-songwriter has earned a rabid audience for his songs that mix country, rock, hip-hop, and even Nineties grunge. With his defining fifth studio album, 9 Lives, released in 2024 via Columbia Records, Wetzel earned recognition on several major year-end best-of lists, including Rolling Stone, Billboard, the Tennessean and more, with the Los Angeles Times naming lead single “High Road” (feat. Jessie Murph) as the No. 8 best song of 2024 across all genres. The single not only marked Wetzel’s debut at Country radio, it also held the No. 1 spot for five weeks and became his fastest song to reach the RIAA Platinum milestone to date. Previously, his 2016 album Noise Complaint endeared him to fans with its no-holds-barred lyrics about drunken nights, broken hearts and stints in jail, and included the Gold-certified hits “Love” (feat. Parker McCollum), “Something to Talk About” plus the infamous “February 28, 2016.” Wetzel’s 2020 major label debut, Sellout, only furthered his legend with the Platinum-certified “Drunk Driving” and “Good Die Young” plus the Gold-certified “Kuntry & Wistern.” The 2022 follow-up, Hell Paso, hit No. 3 on Billboard’s Country Albums and spawned hits on both the country and rock charts, including the Gold-certified “Creeps” and “Cabo.” To date, Wetzel has amassed 3.7 billion total streams and has created a genuine experience with his live concerts, which he describes as “total chaos.” Wetzel performed for well over 200,000 fans across the U.S. in Europe in 2024, with over 96% of all headline tickets sold, in addition to playing prominent festival sets and opening for Morgan Wallen on the superstar’s One Night at a Time Stadium Tour, while 2025 saw him again embark on a year of heavy touring both as a headliner and alongside Wallen and HARDY.

MAYHEM

Mayhem stands as one of the most legendary and influential bands in Norwegian music history. Since their formation in 1984, they have been a driving force in the development of the Norwegian black metal scene – a movement that would later gain worldwide recognition and inspire countless bands. Through controversies and dramatic events including suicide and murder, the band’s reputation and mythology grew beyond imagination. Yet Mayhem still carry the banner high, continuing to push forward despite every setback. Every Mayhem concert is a unique experience – and the band is ready to make Inferno Metal Festival 2026 something truly special.

PRIMORDIAL

Formed back in 1991, Primordial grew throughout the nineties to become Ireland’s most renowned black metal band. Drawing inspiration from Celtic folk music, they created a sound that stood apart from everything else in the genre. Over their long career, the band has released ten albums – the latest, the masterpiece “How It Ends” (2023). Primordial have not played in Oslo since 2017, also at Inferno Metal Festival, so it is with great pleasure that we welcome them back to the capital.

FUNERAL

Funeral is Norway’s leading death doom metal band, formed back in 1991. Alongside contemporaries like My Dying Bride and Anathema, they broke through with their heavy, distinctive sound and a tempo so slow it makes a 95-year-old grandmother seem fast. Thus, funeral doom metal was born. Over the years, the band has explored many directions and drawn inspiration from diverse sources, but founder Anders Eek has always steered the ship steadily through adversity. Last year they released their latest album, “Gospel of Bones”, featuring baritone opera singer Eirik Krokfjord – an album that received glowing reviews. Funeral rarely perform live, but after their memorable Inferno appearance in 2006, it’s finally time for their long-awaited return.

MÚR

With a sound that defies generic labels and a vision that stretches the limits of creativity, Múr are the latest descendants from Iceland’s volcanic underground. The emerging quintet are forging a new era of dark, atmospheric and boundary shattering metal. With progressive sensibilities that harken to the Devin Townsend Project and mid-era Opeth, a talent to cohesively juxtapose atmospheric textures with polished technicality a la Neurosis and Gojira, and a focus on jazz study among the fresh-faced instrumentalists, Múr is already proving itself to be a reckoning force.

NITE

From San Francisco, USA comes Nite – a band delivering blackened heavy metal. Rooted in NWOBHM and inspired by black metal, they have forged their own soundscape – one unlike anything else. Since their formation in 2018, the band has released three albums, the latest being the critically acclaimed “Cult of the Serpent Sun”, which arrived earlier this year. Members of Nite have also played in bands such as Serpents of Dawn, Dawnbringer, Satan’s Wrath, and Wild Hunt. This will be Nite’s very first performance in Norway.

HIEROPHANT

Hailing from Italy, Hierophant have been active since 2009. The band’s roots lie in black metal, with early influences from sludge and hardcore, before evolving in recent years into a more brutal death metal-inspired sound. Whatever the direction, Hierophant have consistently delivered music of high quality – and that won’t change when they play Inferno Metal Festival for the very first time.

SOVEREIGN

Formed in Oslo in 2018, Sovereign spew out a venomous blend of death and thrash – no gimmicks, no polish. Just crushing riffs, barbaric speed, and a war cry against the glossy decay of modern metal. This is a ritual of raw power and precision. Known for their intense live performances – where deadly precision meets pure aggression – and after successful tours along the U.S. East Coast and across Europe, Sovereign have firmly established themselves as a band to watch.

BLODKNOKE

Blodknoke play brutal crust punk with clear traces of black metal. Expect chaos, filth, and ferocity when the band take the stage. Get ready for a sweaty, high-energy show that may include future classics such as “Heller halshugd enn halvsugd” (“Rather Be Beheaded Than Half-Sucked”), “Sørgporno” (“Grief Porn”), and “Hore med hagle” (“Whore With a Shotgun”).

CAVERN DEEP

From Sweden comes doom metal band Cavern Deep. Since their formation in 2019, they have released three albums of impressive quality. Their latest release, “Part III – The Bodiless”, arrived earlier this year to widespread acclaim. With their unique blend of heaviness and melancholy, Cavern Deep have established themselves as a band to keep a close eye on in the years ahead.

AUTOMATON

Automaton is a psychedelic doom/post-black metal band formed in 2012 in Athens, Greece. They combine down-tuned riffs, psychedelic layers, and black metal elements into their own distinctive and heavy sound. So far, the band has released two albums: “Echoes of Mount Ida” (2014) and “Talos” (2018). Their music is described as dark and intense, with a cinematic quality and relentless drive. After a successful performance at Inferno Metal Festival 2024, we’re thrilled to welcome Automaton back.

HEVN III

From the pitch-black underground of Oslo comes Hevn III, who released their self-titled debut album last year. If you think black metal has become too polished and pompous, Hevn III is the band you’ve been looking for. Here you’ll find lo-fi black metal filled with chaos, primitive aggression, and glacial coldness. Drawing inspiration from William Blake, Nietzsche, and Crowley, Hevn III have created a cohesive work unlike anything heard since the early nineties.

VOIDSPIRE

Voidspire is a new death metal band from Oslo. Featuring members from Horrifier, Ruun, Blodkarsk, and Celestial Scourge, it’s clear this is a group who know exactly what they’re doing. Their debut EP is set for release later this year, and all signs point to a record well worth paying attention to.

The iconic Inferno Metal Festival started in 2001 and is the longest running metal festival in

Norway and one of the most important extreme metal festivals in the world. We are very proud

of this position and we will continue fronting Norwegian metal and bringing bands from all over

the world to Norway. Inferno Metal Festival is being held four days at Rockefeller Music Halls’

two stages Rockefeller and John Dee as well as many smaller clubs around Oslo. The festival takes place during Easter in Norway when not a lot of other stuff is happening in Oslo. The festival are usually sold out and more than fifty percent of the audience are from outside of Norway. The ticket sales are from all over the world including China, Australia, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, USA, Columbia, Argentina and many more.

True to their signature energy and rich tones, drenched in tension and melancholy, "Payback from God" dives to the heart of the moment, questioning and reflective of turbulent times.

It's the first glimpse of the band's new album, coming January 23 via Pelagic Records. Pre-orders will be available November 19.

New Miserable Experience are a Philadelphia-rooted collective that reshapes heavy-music rigor into expansive, melody-forward songs through alternative synth-rock. What started as a file-trading collaboration between vocalist/bassist David Grossman (ex-Rosetta) and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Mahesh Kost (Model Prisoner) expanded into a full band that now includes Rosetta drummer Bruce "B.J." McMurtrie Jr., technical metal bassist Brett Bamberger (Revocation), and guitarist Brody Uttley (Rivers of Nihil).

Each member of New Miserable Experience contributes a distinctive sonic fingerprint. The vocals act as the emotional center, delivering lines that feel confessional and immediate; synths and guitars are constructed with shimmering arpeggios and decisive motifs; percussion and production choices blend groove and tension within electronic nuance; and bass work often functions as a countermelody, lifting refrains and anchoring transitions. Together, the five players emphasize careful craft over spectacle, shaping a song that rewards patient listening.

DREW BALDRIDGE REWRITES THE RULES OF REBELLION WITH NEW SINGLE “REBEL”

Country star Drew Baldridge is redefining what it means to be rebellious with his powerful new single, “Rebel,” available everywhere October 31 and impacting country radio November 3 via Lyric Ridge Records/Stoney Creek Records. Fans can pre-save/add HERE

Written by Baldridge and Adam Sanders, and produced by Zach Crowell and Nick Schwarz, “Rebel” stands as an anthem for holding fast to your convictions. Turning the traditional idea of rebellion on its head, Baldridge challenges what it means to push back, trading chaos for character and celebrating integrity, faith, and family as the ultimate acts of defiance. With its soaring chorus and driving production, “Rebel” channels the strength it takes to stay true in a world that often rewards compromise.

Anchored by lyrics like “I’m gonna stand my ground / Ain’t gonna back down / Make sure my last name ain’t stained and stands on integrity / I’m gonna stay true to my woman / And true to my roots,” Baldridge delivers a message that’s both timeless and timely; a declaration that these days staying true to your word is the most radical thing of all. The song honors the quiet strength of consistency, loyalty, and setting a good example. It’s about character and doing what’s right even when no one’s watching.

“I wrote this song after noticing how often the wrong things get glorified,” said Baldridge. “Doing the right thing can feel rebellious, and I hope fans - and my son - see that being a rebel here is actually a good thing. The song celebrates doing the right thing even when it’s not the ‘cool’ or easy choice.”

With his signature mix of small-town grit, heart, and honesty, Baldridge continues to forge a genuine connection with fans through songs that champion his core pillars of farm, faith, and family. He’s currently bringing that message to audiences across Australia and New Zealand while opening for Jelly Roll on the Down Under 2025 Tour. After returning to the U.S. for a brief stint, Baldridge will head overseas once again to close out the year with his first-ever UK and European headlining run, the Country Born Tour. ATAVISTIA Unveil "The Atavistic Forest (Reforged)," Announce Album

Symphonic melodeath storytellers ATAVISTIA are set to return with The Winter Way (Reforged), a magnificent re-recording of their 2020 album, on December 12 via Blood Blast Distribution. Lead single “The Atavistic Forest (Reforged)” roars straight into the first verse, no intro needed. Charging riffs and ferocious vocals briefly give way to gorgeously atmospheric soundscapes, then ramp up the intensity as the sonic labyrinth whirls onward. Intended to be a powerful introduction to ATAVISTIA's new songwriting, performance, and production capabilities, "The Atavistic Forest (Reforged)" has been reworked more than any other song on the album. The band also revised the song's lyrics for clarity and thematic consistency, demonstrating an exacting attention to detail that showcases the care they put into each release.

Sippola comments, "For the first time in my life, I’m happy with this album. It took quite the toll on my mental health releasing it when we did but there’s no reason to dwell anymore. It is the way it should’ve been!"

ATAVISTIA lineup:

Mattias Sippola - Guitar, Vocals, Composition, Production
Max Sepulveda - Drums, Engineering
Elia Baghbaniyan - Guitar
Spencer Budworth - Bass, Vocals

About ATAVISTIA:

Formed in 2017 in Vancouver, Canada, ATAVISTIA takes their fans on a spellbinding journey though vast sonic landscapes of snow covered forests, desolate tundras, and permafrost-laden landscapes. Fans of WINTERSUN, ENSIFERUM, DIMMU BORGIR, and XANTHOCHROID will be enthralled by the elements of melodic death metal, black metal, and Scandinavian folk that is intricately woven together throughout their diverse soundscape.

Taking inspiration from the majestic natural landscapes of their homeland, earthly seasons, and ancient Norse culture, ATAVISTIA’s grandiose sound matches these lyrical themes in an impressive symphony of destruction. Their debut EP, One With The Sun (2017) introduced their unique blend of beauty and ferocity, which they followed up with a stormy full-length in 2020 through The Winter Way. The next two releases, the full-length Cosmic Warfare (2023) and the EP Inane Duncam (2024), saw the band spreading their wings and exploring a wider variety of influences. Through it all, ATAVISTIA balances graceful melodies with a brutal rhythmic cacophony, swirling elegance and fury together like a ferocious northern blizzard.

On stage, ATAVISTIA is a force of nature, like waves crashing against a rocky shore. Their music washes over audiences worldwide, leaving them gasping for more long after the last note has faded. They have toured Europe twice alongside notable acts such as SKÁLMÖLD, METSATÖLL, and SEVEN SPIRES, and have opened locally for MOONSPELL, ELEINE, and OCEANS OF SLUMBER. ATAVISTIA has firmly established its presence in a niche among a wide swath of metal genres.

Are you ready to lose yourself in the juxtaposition of lush and arid, the dichotomy of hope and despair, and welcome the inevitable and beautiful end?

PALE HORSE RITUAL Challenge Dogma with New Single “Holy Lies”

Canadian heavy psych doomers PALE HORSE RITUAL return with “Holy Lies”, the latest single from their forthcoming album Diabolic Formation, arriving November 28 through Black Throne Productions. Bold and unflinching, the song pulls no punches as it confronts centuries of religious power structures and the human cost left in their wake.

“Holy Lies” lays bare the contradictions between immense spiritual wealth and real-world suffering. Its lyrics push against the hierarchy and fear tactics often used to enforce obedience, shining a harsh light on the ways control is cloaked in sanctity. At the heart of the track is a call for equity and liberation. It is an insistence that no one is born to kneel.

Driven by low-end groove and a wall of saturated tone, the band finds a razor-sharp balance between weight and momentum. The guitars churn through layers of fuzz, while the rhythm section carves a deliberate, relentless path forward. There's a hypnotic pull to the song’s structure, anchored by a hook that lingers long after the final note.

With Diabolic Formation on the horizon, the band continues to sharpen their vision, crafting a record that explores the darker corners of belief, power, and the struggle to reclaim autonomy in a world built to obscure it. Pre-orders are available HERE

Dave continues.. "I never mention my health problems in the song, that would be too corny, so I broadened my scope and made it for anyone out there who's going through pain"..."Its basically about standing tall and fighting for yourself, fighting to stay alive, no matter what kind of hell life throws at you”

DER ROTE MILAN To Unveil 'Verlust'. New Video Premiering At Ghost Cult Magazine

Enveloped in shadow, German sextet DER ROTE MILAN create intense, melodic, riff-driven sounds inspired by nature, historical wars in Central Europe, anti-religion and inner conflict. The band explore a strange sense of beauty that emerges from despair through the multi-faceted nature in which loss is experienced. The new album, Verlust, follows the 2023 EP Schlund and sees DER ROTE MILAN develop further their atmospheric sound and lyrical depth. Verlust will be released on December 12th, 2025, via Unholy Conspiracy Deathwork.

As the first single, and opening track to Verlust, "Aus der Finsternis" establishes the mood for the album. Through a sonic manifestation, DER ROTE MILAN focus on the initial shock, the first stage of loss in this track. The powerful and heavy instrumentation reveals a sense of destruction, of desolation, as the reality of the loss hits. Through the melodic elements, there is fragility but also a very faint touch of hope hidden amongst the gloom.

Watch the video Below.

Verlust is steeped in a deep sense of humanity - of indulging in the human condition, even those parts many may wish to avoid. DER ROTE MILAN encourage us to sit with the discomfort, with the pain and acknowledge that change is certain, but it is not hopeless.

Singer/Songwriter Adam Mac Releases Third Studio Album 'Southern Spectacle'

Rising country singer/songwriter and self-proclaimed “Southern spectacle” Adam Mac continues to pave his own lane as one of the genre’s most dynamic new voices with Holler noting, “it's no wonder his fans have started calling him ‘cowBoy George.’” Today the man Pride.com calls “fearless” releases his third studio album, Southern Spectacle. On Tuesday the independent recording artist kicked off release week making his national television debut performing album track “Old Photograph” on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” Watch the performance HERE and listen to Southern Spectacle Below.

The LP features recent releases “Old Photograph,” called “a powerful country pop anthem” by Holler, title track “Southern Spectacle,” as well as “All Dollars, No Sense,” which Billboard hailed as a “must-hear” calling it "a bold, dancefloor-ready fusion of country and pop and Pride.com declaring it is “the definition of queer joy.” The early tracks have set the stage for Mac’s most ambitious and unapologetic project yet.

Southern Spectacle has been two years in the making,” shares Mac. “It’s bold, vulnerable and the most authentic I’ve ever been on a record. Every track is drawn from a lived experience, stories that shaped me — triumphs and setbacks. It’s my queer country experience seen through a technicolor neon lens. This album is me stepping into my power as a true ‘Southern spectacle,’ and I hope it helps folks find that same courage in themselves.”

Dubbed “country music’s very own Elton John” by PEOPLE, Mac will celebrate the album’s release tonight at 8 pm with a special performance at The Eighth Room. Limited tickets are available for purchase at eighthroom.com

Unafraid to sparkle in the spotlight – or speak his truth, Mac captures hearts with his Southern flair, raw truth and glitter-soaked twang. Southern Spectacle was produced by Jason Mater (with additional production by Sean Trainor, Warren Riker and HALLIE). The danceable fusion of country and modern pop was recorded over two days at Nashville’s Black River Studios and cements Mac’s reputation as one of the genre’s most original voices.

“People want things to be like ‘this’ or like ‘that,’ and there’s not a lot of space for ‘both,’” Mac explains. “But I can be glamorous and flashy, and also raised on a Kentucky farm, with all the same values you have. I have just decided to embrace the full spectrum of who I am.

“I’m making music that I wish I had growing up – that I wish I could have seen myself in,” he shares. “And I feel like we’re doing something right.”

Mac was raised in Russellville, Kentucky, about an hour north of Nashville (and a world away from Music Row). A farm-and-church kid who loved The Spice Girls and Shania Twain and couldn’t stop singing, he soon moved on from bedroom vocal clinics to Sunday services and talent shows and started writing songs after losing a dear friend in high school.

Mac also realized he was gay, and that was something to put out of sight. Enduring the typical pressure to “fix” his “unacceptable” truth, which he had fully internalized by age 22, he moved to Nashville to write songs he thought the mainstream would accept. By his own admission, nearly 10 years of struggle led nowhere – Mac’s agile vocal just wasn’t enough to overcome his vanilla vision of country pop. But with the pandemic, Mac realized he was doing “three chords and the truth” all wrong.

“I was trying to appease the masses and not ruffle feathers, or even hint at the fact I was a queer country singer,” he explains. “Then I decided to do what I loved and write songs without anything other than just being honest. With hindsight it’s like ‘Well, duh. That’s obviously what you should have been doing the whole time!’”

The creative epiphany worked wonders. Fusing vocal soul with a danceable country-funk mix (and the full fabulousness of his personality), 2023’s breakout hit “Disco Cowboy” set Mac free. The rapturous music video held the No. 1 spot on CMT’s 12-Pack Countdown for four weeks, leading to a full album of the same name and many conversations.

Southern Spectacle is a definitive intersection of country music and queer identity. Twelve songs co-written by Mac with close friends (including an additional queer creator on most of the album’s tracks) mark a work of cloud-nine courage, with a resilient, revelatory sense of self-acceptance. Louder and prouder than ever, Mac dives further into the world he established on Disco Cowboy. “It’s so autobiographical to me, and also the starting point of where we left off,” he says. “This is the most honest I’ve been in any music – I really held no filter on it.”

In large part, that meant finally embracing his own story, contrasts and quirks included.

“This album is a journey through a multitude of feelings – from feeling like you stand out in a small town, to growing up with an older sibling who was the epitome of everything your father wanted,” he says. “It feels like the complete story of where I’ve been, especially after the past two years.”

As a visible queer voice in country music today, Mac’s journey has not been without challenges. When he was scheduled to headline the Logan County Tobacco and Heritage Festival in his conservative hometown, backlash from local pastors sparked national headlines. His strength in the face of hate drew support from fans, hometown friends and celebrities alike – including Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini and Brandy Clark – and led to a guest appearance on Morris’ Lunatics Tour in Chicago.

As a lifelong outsider who’s learned to make his own space the central message of his work –  he wants everyone to know they matter, even if they’re complicated. So have a little fun.

“I hope that my community feels seen and represented and safe, and they have words for things they felt but were never able to explain,” he says. “For people outside of our community, I just hope they feel the joy – because that’s the way to make change. How do you argue with someone’s happiness?”

With his magnetic presence and rich storytelling, Mac continues to carve out space for queer voices in the country format showing that there’s room for every kind of story. For the latest news and updates follow along on InstagramTikTok and Facebook @adammacmusic and online at adammacmusic.com.

Out Today From Reverya!

REVERYA is a mystical trio hailing from Tampa, Florida, whose sound drifts between the ethereal and thunderous. After the haunting debut EP Melinoe, they unveil their first full-length opus, Affliction In Bloom, set for CD release today October 24th, 2025.

This album is no ordinary collection of songs—it's a conceptual garden where each track blossoms as a distinct flower, embodying the trials and tenderness of human suffering. With titles drawn from nature’s poetry, each bloom holds symbolic weight, weaving an emotional tapestry meant to be experienced in full—start to finish, petal to petal.

The journey begins in stillness with "Allium", a soft, meditative prelude that eases listeners into the dreamy tendrils of "Wisteria".

"Allium" opens like a whispered incantation—two minutes of delicate acoustic reverie, drifting gently until faint, ethereal vocals rise like mist. The allium flower, symbolizing light and fortune, offers a soft blessing for the journey ahead. Rooted in garlic, it wards off darkness, setting the tone for the album's unfolding.

"Wisteria", one of REVERYA's earliest creations, bloomed even before the band fully formed. Born from political frustration, it reflects the dangerous allure of unchecked power. Like the Wisteria vine—beautiful yet poisonous—the song serves as a haunting reminder of the consequences of ignoring power’s dark side.

The album ignites with "Pyrophyte", a fiery counterpart to "Wisteria". With relentless screams, it mirrors escalating fury in the face of a corrupt, power-hungry world. Addressing global struggles, the song touches on war, division, and the uncertain future for younger generations. As chaos builds, a powerful, defiant singalong bursts forth, reminding us that we endure even through the fire. The title "Pyrophyte", referring to a plant that thrives in fire, symbolically connects to humanity’s resilience.

"Forget Me Not" follows, a tender exploration of the emotional weight in deciding whether to bring a child into this world of uncertainty reflected in predecessors, "Wisteria" and "Pyrophyte". Its soft piano and strings give way to raw vocals, capturing perhaps the most vulnerable moment on the record. The lyrics explore the anguish and desperation of parents watching their children suffer through internal and/or external struggles in such an evil and confusing world. Tender words cradled softly in warm blankets of orchestra and piano, cushioned with guitar chugs, and carried by luscious drums grooves.  The chorus poignantly illustrates the anguish of making such a choice, intertwined in a desperate apology leaving the listener to ponder over the only solo featured on the album. The nursery door is closed but never forgotten with a callback to the chorus played softly on a child's toy music box.

"Dahlia", the final flower to bloom, was crafted swiftly and naturally by the trio. Partially inspired by the Black Dahlia murder, the song reflects betrayal and emotional disintegration. A fitting partner to "Forget Me Not", the track captures the dark beauty of the flower—both musically and visually—marking a shift in tone with thall influences. "Dahlia" and "Forget Me Not" serve as emotional companions, validating pain within.

The final act unfolds like the setting sun—"Lily" acts as a delicate interlude, bridging "Dahlia" and "Asphodel". Using a reimagined piano part from "Asphodel", it drifts into an ethereal, somber atmosphere. Its simplicity is carried by lyrical motifs, referencing the journey so far while foreshadowing the final chapters. The white lily, traditional for funerals, symbolizes the album’s reflection on grief and loss.

"Lily" acts as a delicate interlude, bridging "Dahlia" and "Asphodel". Using a reimagined piano part from "Asphodel", it drifts into an ethereal, somber atmosphere. Its simplicity is carried by lyrical motifs, referencing the journey so far while foreshadowing the final chapters. The white lily, traditional in funerals, symbolizes the album’s reflection on grief.

"Asphodel" began with an instrumental foundation crafted by Travis and Kaleb, then later tailored to honor a loved one who suffered a stroke due to a brain tumor, leaving them paralyzed with no memory or chance of returning to their previous self, only to breathe unconsciously completely dependent on life support. The gut-wrenching decision to set them free with a prayer for a peaceful afterlife inspired the lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes. We journey through the stages of grief in this song with a soft verse, a pre-chorus and breakdown filled with angry desperation, bursting into the song's powerful and sentimental chorus, leading into a healing and hopeful singalong outro. In Greek Mythology, souls who have passed must wipe their memory by drinking from the River of Lethe, before they are peacefully transitioned to the Asphodel Fields where they experience a peaceful, eternal afterlife.

"Magnolia" is a heartfelt tribute to a grandmother who passed away during the pandemic. The song began with the lyrics alone as just a poem or letter for her, acting as an answer to a recording of her urging her grandchildren to spend time learning her language, Arabic, as well as confessing the happiness she felt being with her grandchildren despite the far distance. The scent of the Magnolia flower is that of her perfume which evokes early childhood moments spent together. Through fear, aggression, hope, harmony, heartbreak, grief, and more, this soft, sentimental track is a perfect send off to bring this journey to a close.

Affliction In Bloom is not just an album but a timeless voyage—an invitation to feel deeply, to hurt and heal, and to find meaning in both bloom and decay. It is deeply personal yet universal, an elegy, a wish, and a love letter wrapped in petals and pain.

BLACKSHAPE Release New EP 'Prismer I' + "Feels Like Flying" Official Visualizer via Papercut Recordings

Atmospheric post-metal outfit BLACKSHAPE have released their new EP 'Prismer I' along with the official visualizer for "Feels Like Flying" via Papercut Recordings. The EP is the band's latest body of work since their 2021 self-titled full length, 'BLACKSHAPE'. Speaking about today's release, the band commented:

"Making 'Prismer I' was the most demanding creative endeavor of our lives. It tested friendships, stretched deadlines, introduced a new member, and pushed us to our absolute limits. We set out to make something bigger, heavier, and more beautiful than our first record, and we feel we’ve accomplished that. Musically, it captures the full spectrum of our elation and struggle throughout its creation.

Endless thanks to our producer and friend, Adam Cichocki (CHEE-HOT-SKEE), who worked tirelessly alongside us to bring this record to life. We couldn’t be more proud of what we created and can’t wait to release the first installment of Prismer into the world."

'Prismer I' is available now on all streaming platforms at the link here. Watch the "Feels Like Flying" visualizer below, and be sure to stay tuned for more BLACKSHAPE news coming soon.

ABOUT BLACKSHAPE

Haunting, intricate, and emotionally brutal, BLACKSHAPE create music that lives in the shadowed space between chaos and clarity. Their compositions stretch across post-metal, math rock, and ambient minimalism—twisting tension and release into something visceral and cinematic. For fans of sonic unease, dramatic builds, and songwriting that lives outside the lines.

Making Prismer IBLACKSHAPE’s new record, pushed the band to their breaking point. The process became their prison, a crucible of relentless personal and creative pressure. But the music was a prism—refracting that pressure into something beautiful, harrowing, and cathartic, and ultimately reshaping their perspective in the very act of making it. The title reflects this duality, capturing both the burden of confined thinking and the liberation in breaking it apart. Like a prism splitting light, every experience expands perspective into countless paths, showing that escaping the prison of one view means embracing the full spectrum: beautiful, ugly, terrifying, and freeing. This is Prismer.

Order Unself here:

CONJURER's co-vocalist and guitarist Dani Nightingale states: "I approached this song with the idea in mind of the first bricks that make up the metaphorical wall someone might put (or find) between them and their surroundings, the world they inhabit, both physical and metaphysical. For many people in a similar or comparable position to mine, those initial instances of disassociation and alienation begin at school, when one is first integrated into a social and educational environment with their peers and those who watch over them.

"I can’t describe what it’s like to be vilified for behaviours and traits that are just normal and natural to you, but because no-one understands you – not even yourself – you’re forced to adhere to things you don’t understand and become something you’re not."

CONJURER will be touring Unself across the UK and Europe in November. UK dates will be supported by Pijn and Death Goals.

Full dates can be found at https://www.conjureruk.com/live

This record is the sound of four individuals living with more purpose and as a consequence creating with more purpose. Unself sees them reaching out to offer community, catharsis and connection. CONJURER remain true to their original mission - they’re still having fun, playing interesting heavy music - but now that music is imbued with the power that comes from opening themselves up to others, at first within the band, and now beyond.

YELLOW SNOW ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE, "WHAT'S THIS?" AND ACCOMPANYING MUSIC VIDEO

The next single and video from Yellow Snow's rocking and fun holiday album, 'Volume 1,' is ready to go – "What's This?" A classic tune penned by Danny Elfman that originally appeared in the classic Tim Burton film, 'The Nightmare Before Christmas,' the Yellow Snow lads make it all their own with their rendition, which can be enjoyed via this link: https://found.ee/whatsthis

Youtube video can be found below;

Concerning the song, Yellow Snow's creator, composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and vocalist Mike DiBiase, had this to say. “I never knew if it was a Christmas or Halloween song. Instead of doing a traditional orchestral arrangement, I thought, ‘Let’s do big Queen-Type vocals in place of that orchestral instrumentation and then let’s make it really rock with heavy guitars.’"

"So, I went downstairs and worked out the arrangement. Then, I drank a bottle of wine, and I sang it the best I could. The vein in my temple was about to pop out of my head by the time I was done, but it fits our brand. It’s definitely a rockin’ song now.”

For years, Rhode Island-born DiBiase — a lifelong musician and EMMY ® Award - nominated audio post production talent by trade — had “gifted” family and friends hard rock Christmas songs. He decided to bring them to the stage at a Rhode Island club in 2007 for the live debut of Yellow Snow, packing the house and donating a portion of the proceeds to various charities.

He annually headlined shows throughout the ensuing years stirring up a level of cult fandom among the initiated. The music also quietly took on a life of its own as DiBiase’s original song “Giddy Yup, Santa Claus” landed a high-profile sync on The CW’s Riverdale.

Armed with the framework constructed by DiBiase and his bandmates (Matt Baird, Al Diaz, Franklin La Barbara, Denise Gouvin, Jason Berndt, and Chris Piccirillo), he decamped to Nashville in order to finish recording what would become Yellow Snow’s full-length debut LP, 'Volume 1,' during 2023.

And soon, the single and video for his rendition of "What's This?" is certain to stir up some serious holiday vibes for rock fans.

ARSENIC KITCHEN Conjures the Dead with Their New EP HANDBOOK FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED

Prepare to cross over into the beautifully macabre. Arizona's dark alternative rock force ARSENIC KITCHEN returns with their most ambitious and haunting work to date — the new EP, Handbook for the Recently Deceased, out NOW

The narrative of “Devil’s Advocate” presents the story of a reaper figure who develops sympathy for the individuals he observes. This narrative strategy introduces the EP’s conceptual framework, which explores themes of morality from an unconventional perspective. The single is accompanied by a music video that highlights the band's focus on visual storytelling. The video depicts the reaper encountering individuals at their moment of passing and presenting each with a copy of the “Handbook for the Recently Deceased,” a direct homage to director

Tim Burton’s 1988 film, Beetlejuice
