Nineties Rock Legends Launch New Supergroup Howl Owl Howl, Hitting the Road this Fall

A true rock supergroup is one of the most elusive creatures in music, yet today a new specimen emerges. Dubbed Howl Owl Howl and drawing on three of the most impactful careers in American rock, a star-studded new band (with an old school rock & roll soul) is alive, and kicking.

Founded by Grammy winning Hootie & the Blowfish frontman/multi-Platinum country star Darius Rucker, R.E.M. co-founder/Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Mike Mills and The Black Crowes co-founder/former drummer/lauded media personality Steve Gorman, Howl Owl Howl was born in 2021 from a longtime friendship, evolving from casual jam sessions into something unique.

Some 30 years in the making, the new band fuses organic roots rock with an open-minded alternative flair, matching a fluid, feel-oriented rhythm section to the barrel-chested vocal rasp of an iconic frontman.

Now powered by world-class instincts and their own personal chemistry, the band’s founding members spent years in the same orbit through their hard-touring ‘90s heyday, often saying they should start something of their own. With Howl Owl Howl, the moment has finally come – and these rock legends are far from done making noise.

“It feels great to be singing with a rock band again. It’s like buddies getting together, but also getting to play with your idols,” Rucker explains. “The stuff we’re writing is so different than anything I’ve tried to do before.”

“You never can explain band chemistry,” Mills adds. “We all like each other. And we all admire each other musically. All those things come together and if it weren’t fun, we wouldn’t be doing it.”

Meanwhile, Howl Owl Howl will start its first chapter doing what a rock band does best – hitting the road for the Howl Owl Howl Tour 2025. Showcasing their longtime creative camaraderie and unique new sound, nine initial dates kick off November 3 in Indianapolis, Indiana, with additional stops stretching across the Eastern U.S. and Midwest.

Along the way punchy garage rock and jangle pop will mix with throwback soul, blues and beyond, as self-penned songs veer from deeply personal to colorful and quirky – steeped in the rebellious passion and forever-young philosophy of rock … yet designed in a different phase of life.

Each show will combine three distinctive, award-winning talents in new and unheard ways, as the band performs their original music live for the first time.

“There’s not a single guarantee. We’re finally going to get to plug in and let it rip a little bit,” Gorman explains.

Hard Rock Titans OTHERWISE Are Back With a Vengeance, Releasing Their Brand-New EP, Some Kind of Alchemy

The Las Vegas based gold-certified, hard-rock titans, OTHERWISE, triumphantly return with a brand new EP and label home. The infectious, new single/video for the track,

“Stop, Drop and Roll (Doesn't Work in Hell),”is a hard driving banger with a massive catchy chorus, which will quickly demand your undivided attention. This also marks the first release under their new partnership with

Seek and Strike that culminates with the release of the Some Kind of Alchemy EP out now! The band have gone back to their roots and re-embraced their classic harder rock sound, which is very reminiscent of the vibe of their widely acclaimed debut album. See below to check out the new single and order the

EP for free.

OTHERWISE states: "Signing with Seek and Strike was honestly a very easy decision for us. The label was co-founded by a dear friend who has believed in the band and our message since our inception. He cares about us and vice versa, which is saying a lot for the music business.

ABOUT THE BAND:

OTHERWISE have been an unrelenting force in the unforgiving trenches of the music industry, for the past two decades. Consisting of blood brothers Adrian and Ryan Patrick, the powerhouse duo behind the Las Vegas hard rock outfit, they’ve turned scars into anthems and stages into battlefields, earning RIAA Gold Certification for their breakout hit “Soldiers;” a modern rock classic born from the grit of the independent grind. Raised in a city of illusions, the Patrick brothers built something real: a fiercely loyal fanbase they call The Family Wise, bonded not by hype but by heart.

Over 250 million streams later, their legacy isn’t just loud, it’s ever-lasting. Through their nonprofit Life By Music, the brothers use their platform to give back, delivering instruments, lessons, and life-changing experiences to at-risk youth and veterans nationwide. Every note they play carries purpose. Every show is a family affair and every song is a battle cry from two brothers who refuse to ever back down.

RELIQA - Return With Pounding New Single 'Your Touch'

Sydney alternative metal outfit Reliqa are back with pounding new single, 'Your Touch', a genre-blending anthem about ambition’s darker side and the risk of losing sight of what you love, out now via Greyscale Records and Nuclear Blast.

Written in close collaboration with artist and producer James McKendrick (Void of Vision), 'Your Touch' blends the quartet's trademark progressive metalcore roots with bright, dance-driven textures, pushing deeper into newfound sonic territory on their follow-up to last year's debut album Secrets of the Future.

"Your Touch is a continuation of a close-to-heart idea we started exploring on Secrets of the Future, about the fear of ambition going too far,"
says the band. "It’s about having tunnel vision, where your sight’s set on a single target so narrowly that one day you realise you’ve left everything you love behind. The song is full of outer space imagery for that reason - it felt like a fitting metaphor for making bold moves that leave you more isolated than ever."

The music video, directed by Colin Jeffs of Ten of Swords Media, sees the band in a spacecraft-like setting that mirrors the song’s themes of confinement, ambition and isolation. Watch it below.

Since rising out of Sydney’s underground, Reliqa have established themselves as one of Australia's most exciting new prospects. Trailblazers in their own right, they've shared stages with the likes of BABYMETAL, Spiritbox, Periphery, Make Them Suffer and more, as well as touring with Good Things Festival last year. Their 2024 debut album showcased a band leaving no stone unturned in their quest for total musical expression, harnessing the most savage and passionate elements of modern metal fused with electronica, pop, prog and post-hardcore for the thrill of it.

With every new experience, they have endeavoured to bottle everything they felt and feed off it as much as possible as they look to the next milestone. Remembering exactly how it felt to watch their dreams playing out before them and using it as a light as they venture into the unknown.

'Your Touch' is the next leap in Reliqa's unstoppable ascent. Out now via Greyscale Records & Nuclear Blast. Stream it HERE.

Eihwar Reveal Hidden World on New Single

The enfants terribles of Season of Mist’s roster, Eihwar, are releasing a new single today. Known for their explosive fusion of Nordic folk and electro-industrial chaos, the clan continues to defy the solemnity of most pagan acts on “Hugrheim” with a style that is wild, cartoonish, and fiercely ritualistic.

As Eihwar themselves proclaim:

Over the past few years, our souls have gradually taken over the bodies of two human musicians. Through incarnation, we lost much of our memories. All that remains are images, emotions, and fragments from our previous existence, mixed in with the thoughts and memories of our human hosts. In this new song, we evoke the memories that gradually come back to us: memories of Hugrheim, the tenth world of Yggdrasil, hidden and unknown to men. This world is shaped by the Hugr, the spirit. In this realm dwell the invisible forces of the soul and consciousness. When our vessels perish here and our incarnation ends, we will return to Hugrheim. Still, we hope to remain here as long as possible this time, because nowadays the beer is fucking good, the rockstar life is pretty damn cool, and dental anesthesia actually exists.

Watch the video for “Hugrheim” Below:

Stream “Hugrheim”

https://orcd.co/eihwarhugrheim

Following a summer of electrifying festival appearances at Wacken Open Air, Resurrection Fest and Midgardsblot, as well as dates opening for The Hu, with “Hugrheim”, Eihwar present a song that both deepens their mythos and heightens their trance-driven energy.

The word “Hugrheim” comes from Old Norse roots. It can be understood as the realm of spirit, of memory, of consciousness. In the lore woven by Eihwar, their souls appear as reincarnated essences inhabiting human vessels, recalling fragments of their former existence. The song channels these recollections through warrior cries, horns, ritual percussion and machine-driven pulse, aligning Asrunn and Mark with pagan folk lineage while advancing into their own shamanic and celebratory, dance-driven terrain.

To celebrate “Hugrheim”, Eihwar are opening their new Traveling Merchant Webshop. This shop currently includes four t-shirt designs, one of which was only previously available at their concerts. It also holds the “Eihwar bindrune” medallion, which the duo describe as the “jewelry of the clan” - a symbolic extension of their ritual universe.

Eihwar’s debut album Viking War Trance is out now on Season of Mist.

The video for “Hugrheim” was directed by Samuel Maurin and features actors Arya and Benoit Lala. The digital artwork showcases costume design by Yaelle Ghyselink.

Many bands have explored the Pagan & Norse worlds over the last 15 years seeking atmospheric, acoustic and ritual sounds with great seriousness. This is not the path EIHWAR chose.

Although the musicians of Eihwar are virtuosos in their acoustic traditional instruments, their goal is to bring some fun… and as much chaos as possible during their concerts, provoking the craziest trance on dancefloors. They bring a festive and furious neo-viking music whose primal force is based on technoid machines, mixed with trance vocals, shamanic drums and traditional Nordic sounds. Electronics are a ‘new steel’ for those modern warriors, cold and powerful. As the web already says, the duo is a kind of new ‘Viking Carpenter Brut’.

Asrunn — Vocals, Traditional Percussions

Mark — Vocals, Machines

The Quality of Mercury takes us to 'Heaven's Gate', teasing sophomore album 'The Voyager'

Alt-rock artist The Quality of Mercury presents his latest high-paced trip with 'Heaven's Gate', the latest gem revealed from his forthcoming sophomore album 'The Voyager'. Nine years after releasing his debut 'Transmission' album, he is back with new music that is both anthemic and accessible, cinematic and catchy - a perfect blend of muscle and melody.

'Heaven's Gate' shines with an unexpected lift balancing the expansive feel of space-rock with vibrant pop elements. A story about longing to transcend into enlightenment, the upbeat pulse gives it a sense of momentum, like you’re cruising through the stars with the windows down.

The Quality of Mercury is Pennsylvania-based artist Jeremiah Rouse, who handles everything from writing and performing to engineering. This groovesome, graceful and grand music with space-rock atmospherics speaks to our deep need for connection, both human and spiritual. His ongoing search for meaning is woven into songs that range from bursts of excitement to moments of quiet reflection.

"'Heaven’s Gate' is inspired by the real-life cult of the same name, but it’s not a song about tragedy; it’s a song about longing. I saw myself in their story: the endless search for something beyond this world, the gaze fixed on the stars, waiting for a sign, a savior, an escape," says Jeremiah Rouse.

"I’ve spent so much of my life looking up, hoping for divine intervention, for something greater to lift me out of the weight of this world. Whether that’s God, aliens, or something unnamed, 'Heaven’s Gate' is about the hope that there is something out there. Something bigger, kinder, more meaningful than what we know here on Earth. This isn’t a song about giving up. It’s about believing there’s more."

'The Voyager' is an adventurous journey, each track offering a different terrain of feeling: exhilaration, anxiety, longing, and introspection. Lead track 'Ganymede' is an upbeat cinematic journey that reflects the album’s overarching themes of distance, discovery, and transformation, this song is about finding love and losing it, fulfilling Rouse's mission of exploring emotion and texture across vast sonic terrain.

Rouse's recorded works serve as a bridge to his audience —a suitably distant medium, given his songs about receiving transmissions emanating from the other side of the universe and epic, intergalactic voyages. For all its otherworldly sound and association with vastness and space, the intensity and intellect, depth and profound insight found here is a journey into the artist’s own inner space.

Influenced by such iconic bands as Hum, Failure, Starflyer 59, and Sunny Day Real Estate, The Quality of Mercury creates a vast, immersive world, each track built as a sonic landscape - grand in scope yet meticulously detailed. The goal is simple but ambitious: to create music that reveals something new with every listen. Tiny flourishes, subtle swells, and sound elements crossing the stereo field are placed with obsessive precision, often blooming unexpectedly or popping out at just the right moment. Every detail matters, perhaps to a fault, but that’s part of the craft.

With a background in film production and a lifelong love of sci-fi cinema,  Jeremiah approaches songwriting with a distinctly visual mindset. Every song is imagined like a scene from a movie — framed, lit, and paced as though it were a short film. That cinematic sensibility, combined with a meticulous approach to sound design, results in music that’s as emotionally resonant as it is sonically rich.

'Heaven's Gate' is out now, available from fine music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. The full album 'The Voyager', which can already be pre-ordered via Bandcampwill be released on October 24.

Graveripper - From Welkin To Tundra

Indianapolis thrashers GRAVERIPPER have been the soundtrack for post-apocalyptic extinction since forming in 2019. Since then they established themselves as one of black thrash’s most ferocious upcoming bands with their blazing Radiated Remains EP, a spot on the long sold-out Faster Than the Fucking Devil split, and their scorching first full-length (Seasons Dreaming Death).

Now these Midwestern speed demons return with their bleakest and heaviest record yet, From Welkin to Tundra. As a genre, black thrash is usually light on actual black metal influence. But Graveripper is a different beast. This album’s chilling atmosphere and dark edge invokes IMMORTAL, CARPATHIAN FOREST, and AURA NOIR as much as MOTORHEAD or MIDNIGHT.

“From Welkin to Tundra is a blackened, cold, furious assault that captures Graveripper’s distinct style of blending Black and Thrash metal better than any release yet,” vocalist/guitarist Corey Parks describes. “From the dreadful opening track, to the blazing “burn the house down” closer, this record is a sonic assault of Black Thrash ‘N’ Roll that I am very proud of.”

Even the album’s stunning cover art by Adam Burke feels like a classic black metal landscape with its shadowy elegance. The painting illustrates the album’s title, reflecting heaven reduced to a frozen wasteland. It’s a bleak concept that perfectly fits GRAVERIPPER’s vicious approach and From Welkin to Tundra’s darker sound. With two new members in the ranks (Steven Garcia on bass, and Nick James on drums), GRAVERIPPER's ready to conjure endless winter with this record.

From Welkin to Tundra unleashes hell on October 17, 2025. Available on Vinyl, CD, Cassette, and Digital from Wise Blood Records.

Excide Share Visualizer for New Single "Pariah"

EXCIDE  Tyler Washington, Gill Gonzalez, Gage Lanza, Caleb Hogue, and Jacob Paris — recently announced their second album Bastard Hymns. It arrives November 28 via SharpTone Records. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has issued the visualizer for new single "Pariah." Watch it below.

Washington shares, "Lyrically, 'Pariah' is sort of an inward look back to when I was growing up. Not ever really fitting in anywhere or with anyone, wrangling with the religion and politics of your own family and friends, and sort of losing hope at a point that you’ll ever find where you're supposed to be."

He continues, "The song itself was such an unexpected outcome. Originally, we wrote the big chorus hook first, sort of aiming to nail down a 'radio rock' song. After ditching the idea of what it SHOULD be, we came back to the idea (with Austin Coupe) and just started piecing it together naturally. That lead to so many cool things, like the weirdly-timed two-step riff, lots of acoustic guitar layers, and my favorite being the big Soundgarden-esque bridge section that features my favorite vocal take to date."

He finishes, "I think it's fitting the way this song stands on its own: Matching the vibe of the lyrics and hopefully being a welcome little sonic detour."

Bastard Hymns is the logical next step from the band's debut album, Deliberate Revolver. "Having felt like we accomplished what we came to do on the first record, there were no guidelines or barriers around where we were to go next. This opened up so many avenues for our creativity and exploration. We were lucky enough to begin working with SharpTone the following year, which put the band back in gear and opened up new possibilities for the path forward."

Sonically, the band was inspired by the grooves and energy of late '90s post-hardcore bands such as Cast Iron Hike and Snapcase, while siphoning melody and textural elements much the same as Quicksand and Cave In. The band was not afraid to shift gears a bit and take influence from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Failure, which, Excide admit, " allowed us to really push the sonic needle into uncharted territory, even further accentuated by Austin Coupe's co-writing and production."

Overall, the album is a "fuzzy, rocky, groovy, angry record. Seeped in the woes of growing up in a hillbilly hellscape, and living to tell the tale. The result was Bastard Hymns."

During 2020, Excide initially introduced a boundary-breaking signature style gestated across projects such as Two of a Kind and Actualize/Radiation Reel. Two years later, momentum picked up on the heels of their independent full-length debut, Deliberate Revolver, which incited the applause of Brooklyn Vegan, Revolver, and more. They caught the attention of Sharptone Records and inked a deal with the label. In 2024, their next era ramped up in earnest with the two-pack Humdinger, including "Dis(re)member" and "All Down (But 9)." Right away, Stereogum raved, "Both of its tracks go hard," and NO ECHO marveled at how "the band's dynamic blend of '90s-flavored hardcore and propulsive post-hardcore rhythms has shined brightly on each of their releases."

Silly Goose Are "Split" With New Video

Buzzy rap x rock news-and-noisemakers Silly Goose are back with an album full of hard rock party jams. As is always the case with the Goose, they don't simply crash the party. They take over the party.

Their new album Keys to the City will arrive on October 17 via Blue Grape Music. Pre-order it here.

Today, Silly Goose shared the video for new single "Split." Watch it below

The song is a bit of a sonic departure for the Goose, who are known for their hands-in-the-air, good-time-all-the-time anthems. Of course it features their signature grooves and rap x rock style, but with a bit more melancholic and moodily melodic vibe, thus showing off the band's dynamics and unexpected vulnerability.

"It's one of the outliers, and it showcases a different side of what we're capable of," singer Jackson Foster states. "The raps are more laidback and low-key, and the hook is sing-y. It's a song about not being ready to move on."

Silly Goose are touring through 2025, supporting Landmvrks this fall, along with headline dates in December. The band will headline shows in Europe in November, and support Hot Milk on select dates.

STELLAR CIRCUITS REVEAL 2ND SINGLE, 'CORRIDOR'

Prog-Alt-Metal upstarts STELLAR CIRCUITS have debuted the 2nd single, ‘Corridor,’ from their sophomore album, Phantom :: Phoenix, that’s out November 14th via Nuclear Blast Records. The anthemic new track adds rocket fuel to the band’s upward trajectory with mesmerizing vocals and hooking riffs; another highlight from their game-changing new record.

Commenting on the new song, vocalist Ben Beddick says:

With ‘Corridor,’ it seemed like we uncovered a side of the band that we haven’t really explored before. It felt like we tapped into a lighter, more uplifting part of our sound and that was exciting to discover.

The song has a very nostalgic vibe and seems to stem from influences that we haven’t been able to express in previous albums. It feels very removed from our darker and heavier side but we also feel like it only adds to the breadth of music that we’re able to create.

‘CORRIDOR’ MUSIC VIDEO BELOW:

STELLAR CIRCUITS’ follow up to 2023’s acclaimed record Sight To Sound, is a cathartic work of art that explores the trials and tribulations of life and death and the process of healing and perseverance in the face of agony.

Beddick says of the album:

When we were writing this record, one of the things that kept coming up was the idea of death and rebirth through fire. This idea of killing off the old and dead parts of ourselves in order to give birth to something new and maybe even a truer version of who we all are. Every time we write an album, we go into the process with the idea of getting uncomfortable and exposing a more vulnerable part of ourselves. There also seems to be a constant theme of dealing with loss when we’re in the middle of writing.

Everybody went through different periods of loss and grief during this process and I think that it shows through in the subject matter and the sounds that came out of it. We always want to push ourselves to a new place and build on the foundation that we’ve created over the last few years of being in this band. I think that we’ve been able to achieve that with Phantom :: Phoenix. It’s a representation of that cycle and I hope it can act as a catalyst for growth to those who listen.

About STELLAR CIRCUITS:

Stellar Circuits is making a powerful impact in the progressive metal scene following the release of their acclaimed 2023 album Sight to Sound on Nuclear Blast Records. Fusing punishing grooves, intricate melodies, and emotional weight, the album pushed the band’s sonic boundaries while staying rooted in their intense, immersive sound. Tracks like “Witch House” and “Catch Your Death” showcase a darker, more evolved edge that continues to resonate with fans of metal and progressive rock alike.

The band—Ben Beddick (vocals), Jesse Olsen (bass), Tyler Menon (drums), and Jared Stamey (guitar)—has built a reputation for emotionally charged, technically precise live performances, following extensive touring and appearances alongside acts like Chevelle and Arch Echo. With a growing audience and relentless creative energy, Stellar Circuits has emerged as one of the most dynamic forces in modern progressive metal.

Now, the band is preparing to enter a bold new chapter with their upcoming album Phantom :: Phoenix, set for release in 2025. A cinematic and visceral exploration of light and dark, the album delves into themes of personal transformation and the rebirth of the self through fire. It’s an emotionally and sonically expansive record that challenges both the band and the listener to confront what must be destroyed in order to evolve. With new music on the horizon and a sharpened creative vision, Stellar Circuits is poised to break new ground and leave a lasting mark on the genre.

Downswing Drop "Too Little Too Late" (Feat. Chris Roetter)

Darkness isn't merely a theme for Downswing — it's the environment they've learned to endure.

The Albany, New York outfit cultivates a heavy atmosphere and melodic depth, stripping away emotional armor and calloused defenses to reveal something raw and defiantly honest. The band’s new album, And Everything Was Dark, serves as both a mission statement and a bold leap forward.

It arrives October 24 via MNRK, the band's new label home. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band shares the video for new single "Too Little Too Late," featuring Chris Roetter of Like Moths to Flames.

Watch it below

"At its core, 'Too Little Too Late' is about being in a dark place and realizing that help or comfort often arrives only after the damage is done," the band shares. "It's about wrestling with that helpless feeling of something constantly pulling you down, making you feel less like yourself every day."

Since 2016, Downswing have steadily evolved into a powerhouse of modern metal and groove. The group's current incarnation emphasizes big choruses, bigger breakdowns, atmosphere, and emotion. "This is the first time it feels like we're doing exactly what we want," says vocalist Harrison Seanor, who joined the band in 2020. "We're not chasing any specific trend or scene. We’'e Downswing."

Downswing are comprised of Seanor, guitarist Anthony Salvaggio, bassist Chris Arnold, and drummer Nick Manzella. Created with a focus on clarity and impact, And Everything Was Dark builds on the sonic foundation of their earlier work while boldly venturing into new territory. Gargantuan riffs and breakdowns intertwine with massive hooks, textures, and lyrics that resonate deeper than ever before. Downswing formed in 2018 and quickly made waves with their unique blend of metallic hardcore aggression and groove-driven heaviness. Early releases, such as the Dark Side of the Mind EP (2017) and Good Intentions (2020), cultivated a dedicated following in the underground and earned the band a reputation for high intensity. In a glowing 9/10 review, New Transcendence said 2022's New Lows EP "packs a hefty punch" and "a stellar appetizer to whatever is up next in the band's bright future." The Let This Life Devour You EP arrived in 2024.

Downswing are touring this September, opening for He Is Legend, who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Suck Out the Poison album. All dates are below. The band will return to the road in November, supporting Great American Ghost and appearing alongside Wristmeetrazor and Saltwound. All dates are here.

Dogma Announce Headlining U.S. Tour

Explosive and rebellious hard rock band DOGMA announce the U.S. headlining Time To Be Free tour. The tour kicks off October 23 in Anaheim, CA, and runs through November 23 in Westland, MI, including select co-headlining dates with A Killer’s Confession (the band led by Waylon Reavis, ex-Mushroomhead). Fans will also have the opportunity to join DOGMA face-to-face through limited Meet & Greet experiences, available now at www.officialdogma.com/meetngreet (please note that concert tickets are not included).

In honor of the season where shadows grow stronger, DOGMA unveils an exclusive Halloween presale at www.officialdogma.com/store. The collection features two limited-edition T-shirt designs, each package including the shirt of your choice, exclusive stickers, and a lanyard.

Lilith says,

“America… your silence has starved too long. Now the veil is torn, and we return not as guests, but as the storm you begged for in whispers. We cross the American land as fire incarnate, carrying the weight of every sin you tried to bury.

This tour is called 'Time To Be Free' not only after our latest single, but also because freedom is the core of Dogma. To be free is to break the chains of obedience, to tear down imposed morality, to rise above the herd that fears the truth. On these nights, we will not perform; we will liberate. Our music and our word are the weapons in this cultural battle against the doctrines that seek to limit us all.

Halloween is revelation. The season when masks burn, when shadows rise, when truth stands exposed. For this rite, we forged two relics, garments for the faithful. They exist only for this season, then they vanish forever.

And to those who dare to stand before me,  the Meet & Greet is not a transaction; it is a covenant. Few will hold it. Even fewer will understand it.

The Time To Be Free is here. Burning, consuming, unstoppable. Confess. Submit. Or be erased. Your call.”

*with A Killer’s Confession

Born from the union of heavy metal and unapologetic sensuality, DOGMA is less a band and more an exorcism. Their performances bleed theatrics and throb with tension — an altar where riffs reign, inhibitions collapse, and every beat is a confession.

In their church, there is no shame — only truth.
No penance — only passion.

No gods — only DOGMA.

DOGMA was never created to entertain; it was forged to awaken.
Their shows are not concerts; they are rites where fire and flesh collide, where sound becomes weapon and word becomes blade. Every stage they set foot on turns into a battlefield against the doctrines that seek to keep the world silent, obedient, and small.

In their temple, there is no forgiveness to beg for, no chains to protect you, no gods to answer to.
There is only the scream of truth, the hunger of passion, and the freedom to choose.

Be free, only if you want to.

Kneel if you must... but it is not to pray.

The Last Will And Testament is gripping from start to finish, jaw-dropping inside and out, representing some of OPETH’s finest material to date. Just as OPETH welcomed many into its distressed arms over the years, the Swedes again deliver on the promise that great music always tells a compelling story - this time with growls we had not heard since the 2008 Watershed.

OPETH’s 14th album was written by Åkerfeldt, with lyrics conferred with Klara Rönnqvist Fors (THE HEARD, ex-CRUCIFIED BARBARA). The Last Will And Testament was co-produced by Åkerfeldt and Stefan Boman (GHOST, THE HELLACOPTERS), engineered by Boman, Joe Jones (KILLING JOKE, ROBERT PLANT), and OPETH, with Boman, Åkerfeldt, and the rest of the band mixing at Atlantis and Hammerthorpe Studios in Stockholm. The strings on The Last Will And Testament were arranged by Åkerfeldt and Dave Stewart (EGG, KHAN) and conducted by Stewart at Angel Studios in London. Not one to miss a beat, visual artist Travis Smith returns to the fold, crafting his 11th cover, a haunting ‘photograph’ reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's infamous Overlook Hotel photograph. Miles Showell (ABBA, QUEEN) also revisits mastering and vinyl lacquer cutting at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Kenny Chesney's HEART LIFE MUSIC Tour Adds Chicago, Nashville & Miami Book Fair

When Kenny Chesney started work on Heart Life Music, he had no idea what would unfold. But like everything he does, he committed to the process, dug in and really examined the road from being a sports-obsessed kid lying in the yard and staring at the sky, to becoming the man the Wall Street Journal deemed “the King of the Road.” Football stadiums, student bluegrass band trips to Moscow, Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica, George Jones’ plane and experiencing Key West with his friend Jimmy Buffett are just some of the places the songwriter-superstar from East Tennessee found himself revisiting to tell the story.

“And after all of it, I can’t wait to share all the characters I’ve met, people who’ve been behind the scenes, the dead ends and places that maybe seemed like not much with readers,” Chesney enthuses. “Because every single step, smile or hard lesson was part of this crazy ride. I had no idea how much I’d remember and learn about how we got here, but I am really excited to share it with No Shoes Nation.

“Whether a Lower Broadway that no longer exists, and almost can’t be imagined, or the insane crowds at Chicago’s Soldier Field over the last 20 years, I’ve tried to make this book tour go  places that really stuck with us, made us – all of us – into the community we are,” he continues. “These stories aren’t just postcards from stops along the way, they are love letters to every person or place who was there. It’s why the final end papers are a picture from Soldier Field in 2024 with all those people that made it magic.”

Adding three more dates, Heart Life Musicthe Book Tour will go to Chicago the day after release for an event at the Copernicus Center, presented by The Book Stall. Then Chesney will head to Nashville for two book talks at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMA Theater, in partnership with Parnassus Books.

“I wanted to go to the heart of the country, and Chicago sure represents that for me. I wanted to go to the place where all of my music came together, the songwriters and creative community were so generous and encouraging to me. Teaming with Parnassus Books for an event at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, yards from the Turf where I’d played for tips when I arrived, is a dream come true.

“And we were asked to be a headliner for the opening  of the Miami Book Fair. I feel like we’re going back to the Super Bowl, which when you read the book, you’ll get the reference. It’s an honor to be part of such a respected and iconic event. And the way I love South Florida – from West Palm Beach’s Coral Sky to the Tortuga Music Festival, Miami and the Keys – this is a whole other homecoming.”

Joined for freewheeling conversations that explore the story and process by two-time LA Press Club Music Criticism and Entertainment Journalist of the Year and co-author Holly Gleason, Chesney will deep dive into Heart Life Music. Establishing a voice that captured coming of age and living life as fully as possible in the 21st Century, the man the Los Angeles Times called “the people’s superstar” wants each event to reflect his unique relationship with No Shoes Nation, the music and anyone seeking inspiration to create their own place in the world.

Known for commanding the largest stages nationwide, Heart Life Music ventures to places long gone, makes unexpected music in Jamaica, the Kremlin, New England and Cabo San Lucas, drifts across the waters of the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Beyond meeting and collaborating with heroes, forging transcendent friendships in the islands and beyond, Chesney’s introspective look at the songs and sound that defined No Shoes Nation offers the intimacy of sharing a slow afternoon on the water. Each ticketholder will receive a signed copy of the book.

Guilt Trip Sign to Roadrunner + Share Video for New Single "Burn"

The band — Jay Valentine [vocals], Jak Maden [guitar], Sam Baker[guitar], Tom Aimson [drums], and Lily Kilcoyne [bass]— shares the video for "BURN," its debut single for the label. And it's quite a ripper than captures the riff-roaring essence of classic thrash with a thoroughly modern and stadium-sized edge.

Watch the video below

"We are thrilled to announce that Guilt Trip have signed to Roadrunner Records," the band states about the new partnership, which feels like home for both sides. "To celebrate, we present 'Burn,' our brand new single and first with the label. Roadrunner and its history forged Guilt Trip's sound as you know it, so this collaboration always felt inevitable. Thank you so much to the fans for the unwavering support throughout the years — this is only the beginning. Here's to the next chapter."

Maden offers a deeper insight into the song, saying, "Sonically, it's a metal song with hardcore influences sprinkled in. To us, it felt a little bit like old Machine Head. It's definitely an anthem. As soon as we finished it, I knew it needed a simple repeated line until the drop and 'wall of death' section. We won't even need to tell the crowd what to do."

Guilt Trip will spend the fall touring alongside Kublai Khan and will appear at Louder Than Life in Louisville on September 18 and at New England Metal and Hardcore Fest on September 20.

The Pretty Wild Announce New Album 'zero.point.genesis' out November 21 via Sumerian Records + Drop "PARADOX" Official Video

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have announced their debut album, 'zero.point.genesis' out November 21 via Sumerian Records. The forthcoming full-length includes previously released fan-favorite tracks "OMENS", "Button Eyes", "living ded", and the smash-hit "sLeepwALKeR" will be available as a physical bonus track. Altogether, the tracks have already amassed a staggering 20 million streams on Spotify alone and nearly 3.3 million views and counting on YouTube. In celebration of the news, the sisters have released a new track from the album "PARADOX" and the accompanying official video. When asked about the album, the band shared:

"'zero.point.genesis' is an album of collapse and resurrection, mythic, yet memeable in its rawness. For me, it’s about battling and ultimately healing the fake ego structures forged in trauma that kept me small, erasing my feminine gifts to fall in line. It’s crawling through the haunted shadow void society is too afraid to face, and emerging closer to my core essence through reclamation of those feminine gifts." -JYL

"This record is layered with multiple dimensions of interpretation; the more you listen, the further you traverse through them with us. We pushed into concepts that once felt untouchable to us, we set external input aside, and wrote them anyway. It’s an album of poetic contrasts, brutally heavy moments, with haunting instrumentation and flayed open lyrics. Woven throughout are nods to our personal interests, theatrical elements, classical composition, and moments of rage and playfulness." – JULES

Pre-order 'zero.point.genesis' here, stream "PARADOX" here and watch the official video below.

After a momentous summer tearing up the stage on the Hell Hath No Fury Tour while making their Welcome To Rockville and Inkcarceration debuts, The Pretty Wild will next hit the road with Set It Off, Fame On Fire and VANA beginning Tuesday, October 28 in Atlanta, Georgia. BIG ASS TRUCK I.E. HITCHES THEIR HARDCORE RIG TO NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS

The Inland Empire, a lovely area just east of Los Angeles and Orange Counties in Southern California known as much for its great weather and beautiful deserts as its devastating wildfires and  threatening faultlines, is now the epicenter for one of hardcore music’s biggest breakouts, BIG ASS TRUCK I.E.

Over the last year, the five-piece wrecking crew has slayed the scene faster than the Green Goblin big rig from “Maximum Overdrive.” Armed with only a demo and a couple of singles, BIG ASS TRUCK I.E. have managed to dominate the pit with their reckless brand of cataclysmic hardcore at shows with TERROR, COMEBACK KID and STICK TO YOUR GUNS and performances at Welcome To Rockville, LDB Fest, Sound & Fury, Warped Tour and Inkcarceration to name a few.

Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce the signing of the Truck, who’ve just dropped a rampaging new track/video called ‘BACK-WHEEL STOMP.’

Commenting on the signing and single the band states:

We’re super stoked to be on Nuclear Blast! They’re such a legendary label that a lot of our influences have been a part of so it’s also a wild full circle moment for all of us to be involved like this! ‘BACK-WHEEL STOMP’ is one of our heaviest songs we’ve made and it’s just the beginning of what we’re ready to unleash with Nuclear Blast.

Label Manager and Head of A&R for Nuclear Blast America, Tommy Jones, adds:

Whatcha gonna do when THE TRUCK runs wild on you?!?

BIG ASS TRUCK I.E. are currently on tour, performing at Louder Than Life Festival today, followed by headline dates, appearances at New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, Riot Fest and Furnace Fest and a tour with CHIODOS and HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS in November.

About BIG ASS TRUCK I.E.:

Born in the inland empire. Fueled by diesel and bad decisions.

2000 horsepower breakdowns. 12-ton riffs. Anyone in the way catches the back wheel stomp.

Not a band. A wrecking crew on bald tires.

BIG ASS TRUCK I.E. isn’t here to partake in hardcore. It’s here to run it over, back it up, and run it over again.

Big riffs. Big energy. BIG ASS TRUCK.
