SYDNEY QUISENG SIGNS GLOBAL PUBLISHING AGREEMENT WITH BMG

Excide Share "Your Flowers" Video

Carolina post-hardcore quintet EXCIDE, who've been tipped by Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and Revolver, are back with the visualizer for their brand new single "YOUR FLOWERS." It's a hyperkinetic anthem with plenty of push and pull guitar energy, a monster breakdown, and singalong choruses.

Swollen Teeth have today unleashed their emotionally charged new single "Foster" and the accompanying music video (via Blowed Out Records). Still there are those few uncompromising musicians scattered among us that prefer to rely on good old-fashioned brow-beating hard work rather than succumb to the prefabricated mainstream success that is so prevalent in today’s modern musical arena.

Enter 40 Cycle Hum, whose genuine approach to writing and performing is sure to cause fans and industry types everywhere to stand up and take notice. This latest powerhouse offering boasts a massive punch and will no doubt have even the most docile fans throwing their fists to the air. Produced and engineered by Stevo Bruno (Five Finger Death Punch, Motley Crue, Prong), and mastered by the late great George Marino of Sterling Sound.  The album features 12 scorching tracks including “Seven Stitches”, "Rise Up”, and more. The band’s inception featured Singer/Frontman/Guitarist Brandon Mitchell, Guitarist Rocky George (of Suicidal Tendencies/ Infections Grooves),  Bassist Mike Duda (of W.A.S.P., and Drummer Francis Ruiz (Buckcherry) who were involved in much of shaping the band’s direction and songwriting approach.   The industry would then call on Rocky George and Mike Duda to fulfill their responsibilities in their other respective bands.  Mike was called back to W.A.S.P., and Rocky was called to FISHBONE. 

It was at that time guitarist Mark Zavon (Kill Devil Hill), and Bassist Kenny Lefort joined the fold and began forging a new path ahead.  As fate would dictate,  the musical climate changed among other developments, and eventually resulted in the band members pursuing other musical endeavors.    

While the guys have individually and collectively paid their dues, and have been a part of many musical collaborations and bands, the fact that what they created together is “worthy”.    Worthy of being heard, shared, loved by true music fans,  but also worthy of being performed and recognized along side of their established musical cohorts & peers.  With the band members having remained in touch with each other and remaining active in the music world,  the universe has now set the stage to allow 40 Cycle Hum to share the great music they have created!

Today, Argentinian singer SANTIAGO RAMONDA is proud to share his new single “Bad Girl,” along with its accompanying official video, taken from his upcoming debut album ‘The Walls Are Crumbling Down,’ out on July 18th via Frontiers Music Srl.

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to present the upcoming debut album from RAMONDA, the first solo release by the brilliant Argentinian singer SANTIAGO RAMONDA.

RAMONDA had already caught the attention of the melodic hard rock scene with Stormwarning's debut album, and he's back again—this time under the direction of Serafino Perugino, president of Frontiers Records—to prove his immense vocal talent, crafting an album of melodic rock gems!

SANTIAGO started as a guitarist and then became a singer, developing his skill primarily through practice and self-knowledge. Although he has received valuable advice and guidance from some experts, including Iván Sencion, his growth as an artist has been largely self-directed.

In 2020, as a result of a cover of Joe Lynn Turner's “Prelude/Endlessly” published on his YouTube channel, SANTIAGO began to catch the attention of some players in the global melodic rock scene. Guitarist Stuart Smith (Heaven & Earth), whom the label has a long relationship with, shared SANTIAGO's YouTube videos with the label.

'The Walls Are Crumbling Down' is a solid album, showcasing songs with big choruses, a wide range of vocal arrangements, and SANTIAGO's tone—striking a perfect balance between vocal extension and a warm, bluesy digression (with “Blue Heart Of Stone” being a clear example)—alongside amazing guitar work by Suraz Sun, guitarist for Girish And The Chronicles.

Describing the album, RAMONDA added:

Killswitch Engage — Jesse Leach, vocals; Adam Dutkiewicz, guitar; Joel Stroetzel, guitar; Mike D'Antonio, bass; and Justin Foley, drums — released their latest album THIS CONSEQUENCE on February 21, via Metal Blade. "'Aftermath' is a song about the realization of a tragic event or a war, and the strength it takes to rebuild and the hindsight of the loss, betrayal, and madness that transpired while going through it all," Leach explains. We have taken so much from our planet and ripped the scales in the incorrect direction."
 
The singer continues, "This song is not just a desperate song with a sense of sadness and anger — it is a call to arms. I'm urging my fellow humans to rise above the helplessness and despair. I want people to see we need to put one foot in front of the other and start to rebuild our lives. Be it from an abusive relationship, a financial hardship, a death of a loved one, or mourning yet another disaster unleashed upon the natural world."

Leach finishes, "We all have power to create change. To me, this works perfectly with the various organizations we partnered with for this video. We all have a responsibility to the amazing place we call home. Chicago's PUSH PUPPETS share cosmic brilliance on 'Launching a Satellite', showcasing new LP

Chicago indie pop-rock outfit Push Puppets presents 'Launching a Satellite', a dramatic epic about insecurity that evolves as it goes. This is the latest gem from their fourth multifaceted album 'Tethered Together', newly released via Flowering Tree Music. With dynamic choruses that offer stark contrast to the quieter more exploratory sections, it ends with stunning interplay between the string quartet and electric guitar.

Based in Chicago, Push Puppets creates songs with earworm melodies and shiny production that belie often-bittersweet sentiments. This is the creative outlet for singer-songwriter and guitarist Erich Specht (lead vocals, guitar), who is joined by a core of Steve Frisbie (backup vocals, guitar), Kyle Magnusson (keyboards), John William Lauler (bass) and Greg Essig (drums).

This astral-themed video was pgeroduced by Scott Thiele and Sebastian Gonzales. with video editing and animation by Tcomas Studio. Push Puppes are joined by a string quartet, comprised of Stephanie “Sly” Young on violin, Katherine Andrick on viola, Molly Rife on cello and Kelly Jozwiak on violin (note: Janis Sakai performs in the audio recording).

"It was fun to see this song fully realized with the string quartet adding so much.  While performing live, I would typically play the instrumental section on guitar imitating violins.  So it was exciting to adapt it to a real string quartet while still keeping some room for lead guitar," says Erich Specht.

"This album offers a nod to the artistic excesses of the 70s, whether it's a wall of phased vocals or a moment where guitars and strings rip a quick line together between phrases.  The tracks are widely varied yet cohesive - and within a given song, you're likely to be taken elsewhere."

Produced by Doug McBride (Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Silversun Pickups, Cheap Trick) and Erich Specht, ‘Tethered Together’ was mixed and mastered by Doug McBride at Gravity Studios in Chicago. Most of the songs on this album also involve a string quartet, with a horn section on one.

This record is graced with impeccable songwriting that shines with lush harmonies, angular guitars, dramatic keyboards and strings backed by a smoking rhythm section. Erich Specht muses on relationships and loss, as well as the weight and joy of life, in a manner that is poetic and seems effortless, his lyrics fitting to the melody like pieces of a puzzle. Wearing his vulnerabilities like a badge of honor, this music takes us on a journey to unexpected places.

Kicking off with the arena-rocking anthem ‘Similar’, which explores universal connections, and 'Hearts Aren’t Souvenirs', 'Probably' offers a poignant tribute with a dramatic string-laden conclusion. The superb 'All Together On 3' builds progressively to a cathartic blend of live strings and desperate vocals, highlighting the strength found in unity.

The album continues its sonic journey with the dramatic and evolving 'Launching a Satellite', culminating in a striking interplay between strings and electric guitar. 'This Whole Endeavor' hooks the listener with a memorable piano riff while recounting the ebb and flow of a past relationship. A lighthearted interlude arrives with the retro rocker 'Tell Colleen to Calm Down', followed by the Spanish-tinged inhibition-shedding 'Shake It Like You Mean It'. The album delves into the pain of lost love in the Americana-influenced 'Hearts Are Fragile' before reaching a powerful and dramatic conclusion with 'The Logical Conclusion', driven by intense strings and piano.

The 'Tethered Together' album is out now, available on CD, digitally on fine digital platforms. It can be obtained in either format directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

Bask Announce New Album 'The Turning'

Ever since they came rumbling down from the Blue Ridge Mountains, it was clear that Bask are cut from a different neck of the woods than their fellow Southern trailblazers.

"It's really exactly what you want from a musical artist", Heavy Blog is Heavy wrote about the band's previous album, "a group of people creating their own sound that isn't aping anyone".

The climb to reach album number four wound up taking the Asheville natives on one hell of a trip. But The Turning takes Bask's homebrewed Heavy Americana to a new dimension. While its lead single starts with boots firmly planted in familiar metallic pastures, "Dig My Heels" leaps into the great beyond thanks to a gentle nudge from the band's newest member.

"We've been through so many trials and tribulations together over the past five years", Bask says. "We were knocked down by COVID, then by Hurricane Helene. Seeing this album finally come to light is therapeutic for us. The Turning is Bask at our finest. It's our most cohesive and heartfelt effort, an ode to our mountain home in the sky".

For as long as they've been together, Bask have called The Land of the Sky home. "We've been a band longer than we've been with our spouses", says bassist Jesse Van Note. The Turning is still rooted in Appalachia's rugged terrain. The album was recorded at Echo Mountain Recording with producer and fellow Asheville fixture Kenny Harrington, who's also worked alongside Manchester Orchestra. "Dig My Heels" quickly settles into a sunbaked groove with riffs that are as chiseled as red clay. But once drummer Scott Middleton takes the reins, the band's new single bounds off in a proggier direction.   

"This song stemmed from Scott calling me out", laughs guitarist Ray Worth. Instead of following Worth's headbanging leads, the band let Middleton's sideways gallop be their guide. "There's nothing wrong with playing in 4/4", Middleton acknowledges, "but if you're not exploring, then you're missing out on a world of opportunity". As "Dig My Heals" rounds the corner into the chorus, what should appear but a country field of paisley countermelodies.

"We all like heavy music and half us grew up around folk and bluegrass", says vocalist and co-guitarist Zeb Wright, "but The Turningleans into that mix even further".

Fresh off a largely sold out Spring 2025 North Americanrun, GRAMMY-nominated heavyweights TRIVIUM are thrilled to announce their upcoming Fall 2025 headline tour plans.

The band will embark on "The Ascend Above the Ashes" trek that kicks off October 31 in Myrtle Beach and runs though December 14, with an epic hometown show in Orlando.

Irish Emo Duo GREYWIND Announces New Album ‘Severed Heart City’ Out September 19th via FLG

Today, the Irish emo duo GREYWIND is excited to announce their cinematic new album,‘Severed Heart City.’ The album will be released on September 19th via FLG. Having heralded the start of a new era earlier this year with epic cuts, ‘Acid Rain’ and ‘I.K.A.M.F.’, the brother-sister duo have announced their second full-length alongside the release of another arena-ready anthem, which will also appear on the record, titled ‘Waterfall.’ The new single is accompanied by a music video, available below.

Guitarist Paul O’Sullivan comments:

“'Waterfall' is about hopelessly wanting someone to love you, but getting absolutely nothing in return and waking up to the fact that they couldn’t care less about you. Recording this song felt like a massive moment in our career - it’s dark, cinematic, and has everything we love about music in it.”

Getting to this point has been more than a rollercoaster for GREYWIND, whose debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released in 2017 via a major label who promptly dropped them despite the band’s ultra-promising “Ones To Watch” status. They’ve gone on to stoke their own creative fire and herald an avid fanbase with a Tik Tok surge during lockdown, an EP released by Version III last year (‘Antidote’), tours and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and North America, and now a partnership with FLG. ‘Severed Heart City’ is both the culmination of and the soundtrack to that journey, taking in all the twists and turns in the siblings’ story, both personally and professionally, along the way.

Steph and Paul O'Sullivan comment on the new album:

“’Severed Heart City’ is an extended allegory for the stages of trauma, and one’s inner struggle to find resolution. There are many roads that lead to the heart of this broken city, but there is only one bridge out – one of acceptance and hope. Our band was created after the suicide of our uncle and since then we’ve been on an intense journey of achieving some of our biggest dreams to then having everything ripped away from us. ‘Severed Heart City’ is a place where it’s ok to be sad, depressed and feel like the whole world is against you but it’s also a place where you make sure none of those things ever make you give up on yourself or your dreams. Only you can save yourself.”

It’s no surprise to hear that GREYWIND are inspired by great emo pop originators like Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, with the duo’s flair for the dramatic and knack for an earworm melody resulting in an album filled to the rafters with anthems.
