Finnish Heavy Metal powerhouse FIRE ACTION unleash their electrifying new single and music video for "Survive", marking a thunderous preview of their upcoming studio album 'Until The Heat Dies'. The single is also accompanied by a music video.

With three albums – ‘Rock Brigade’ (2016), ‘Fahrenhater’ (2018), and ‘9112’ (2020) – to their name, FIRE ACTION are anything but newcomers and have long established themselves as an integral part of Finland's metal scene. The quartet surrounding guitarist Juri Vuortama and vocalist Pete Ahonen has taken a musical quantum leap producing eleven traditional heavy metal songs, each diverse in their own right. Maltese-born-Swiss musician Marc Storace started his exceptional musical career in 1970, with the Swiss cult progressive band TEA, which became a very successful band and with whom he released 5 LPs. Marc gained attention for his frontmanship and high-pitched raunchy vocal tone.

In 1979, Marc became the voice of Krokus, the most successful Hard Rock band from Switzerland. After their first album with Marc, 'Metal Rendez-Vous,' Krokus played several world tours, sold over 15 million records, and won many gold and platinum awards.

After the group disbanded, Marc formed the band Blue, who released their self-titled album in 1991, including the widely known hit “You Can't Stop The Rainfall”.

In the 90s and 2000s, Marc acted in two feature films (Anuk and Handyman) and reached gold status with various Krokus formations and three LPs. With many guest appearances such as on Rock Meets Classic, Sweet 50th Anniversary, Ken Hensley Live in Switzerland, Schubert In Rock, and on Manfred Ehlert's albums 'Amen' and the rock opera 'Test', Marc remained present with his fans.

In 2008, fans were surprised by the news that the original Krokus formation would be touring again. The success was tremendous: tours in USA, Japan, Europe and South America as well as 2 new studio LPs, which, in turn, earned platinum status. In December 2019, Krokus played a farewell concert at the sold-out Hallenstadion in Zurich.

At the beginning of 2021, Marc started working on his solo career as STORACE and at the end of 2021, he released his first solo album 'Live And Let Live.' In the middle of the pandemic, Marc started his first tour in Switzerland accompanied by the album's studio band. Since May 2022, Marc has been performing with his new band and rocking the stage like never before.

Marc spent 2023 and 2024 writing and producing the new album 'Crossfire,' a monster piece of Hard Rock, with songwriting shared between Marc Storace, guitar player Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper band) and drummer Pat Aeby (Krokus, Gotus).

'Crossfire,' produced by Tommy Henriksen and mixed by the award-winning engineer Olle Romo, features a collection of Hard Rock anthemic songs, with big choruses, great guitars, and an awesome rhythm section!

Liverpool's THE WOOD releases debut album, blending blue-eyed soul, southern & indie rock

Liverpool-based duo The Wood present their debut 'Days' album, released via Riverdream Records. The Wood is made up of Alex Evans (vocals, backing vocals, percussion) and producer and co-writer Steve Powell (guitars, bass, backing vocals, keys, percussion), who met when Powell was recording Evans at his Ark Recording Studios in Liverpool. Creating music that is difficult to categorise yet somehow sounds familiar, The Wood cleverly mesh blue-eyed soul, southern and indie rock.

As the world overground traverses life blissfully unaware, The Wood have been holed up in a warehouse basement studio amongst the imposing brick edifices of Liverpool's ancient dockland. Working. Always working. Here, the great warehouses stand shoulder to shoulder against the wind coming in off the river, like dockers waiting for a shift. These historic streets stand as a testament, a monument to their past. To the trade and exchange of goods, of ideas. The movement of people in the hope of something new. An escape of some sort. As a producer, Steve Powell is an expert at unearthing sonic magic, having recorded many notable artists records, including Michael Head and The Strands, John Power, def.fo, The Stairs and Ella Guru He also produced and played guitar on the first Michael Head and the Red Elastic Band record 'Arturius Revisited' and number one indie album 'Adios Senor Pussycat'.

For The Wood, knowing what they want but not necessarily where it will lead them, time has been their friend, their growth leading them to 'Days' - an album of rich textures, built around songs filled with soul, purpose and an innate sense of release. Above all, this is a truthful record - from the shuffling groove and mariachi trumpet of the album's opening track and first single ‘Let It Loose', to the mountainous gospel-tinged chorus of 'River' and the immensely intricate production of 'Back to the Start'. The simple yet sheer yearning beauty of 'Stay with Me' sounds immediate and familiar. The melody of 'Autumn Dreams' seems to float, dancing gracefully around the notes almost preternaturally in the voice of Alex Evans - the kind of melody that can make a summer's day feel autumnal.

Industrial icon SKOLD & alt-rock maverick Love Ghost release Metropolis-backed album 'Love Ghost x SKOLD'

Alternative rock maverick Love Ghost and industrial legend Tim Skold (SKOLD, Shotgun Messiah, KMFDM, Marilyn Manson, Motionless in White) have released their debut 'Love Ghost x SKOLD' album, following a string of singles that include ‘Nightshade and Cocaine’, 'Payback' and 'Ski Mask'.

This 13-track record is released through iconic American label Metropolis Records, continuing the label's long relationship with Tim Skold. Mixing fire with brimstone, these two innovative artists have joined forces, forging the raw energy of grunge with the driving rhythms of industrial rock, taking us through an adrenaline-filled journey that Finnegan Bell dubs "literally musical storytelling".

"We very deliberately tried to not have a specific “sound” for this album and instead make music that is genuinely honest and pure in that sense. We both have stylings and character so we didn’t feel that was something that needed much attention and instead focused on making a rad collection of songs that we felt are really cool. I think real and true diversity come from making sure you don’t stifle the raw creativity," says Tim Skold.

Finnegan Bell adds, "I would agree with Tim, we made music that we felt was from the heart and stimulated our imagination. The music sounds like multiple universes coming together to create something unique and we are proud of that. I’ve also always felt that art should be in the eye of the beholder, because it means something different for every individual person that is experiencing it."

Swedish musician and record producer Tim Skold is best known for his work with KMFDM, Shotgun Messiah, Marilyn Manson, and Motionless in White, as well as performing as SKOLD and half of Not My God (with Nero Bellum). A full-fledged band member of Marilyn Manson for several world tours, Skold produced the band's #1 Billboard US charting album 'The Golden Age of Grotesque', cover versions of 'Tainted Love' and 'Personal Jesus', and the controversial album 'Eat Me, Drink Me'. He later co-produced two Motionless in White albums. As SKOLD, he has released several albums and toured extensively with Front Line Assembly and Motionless in White, among others.

Based in LA, Love Ghost is an enigmatic indie band dishing up a distinctive blend of grunge, alt-rock and post-punk, informed by the Seattle tradition as much as Soundcloud-era fearlessness. Founded by vocalist-guitarist Finnegan Bell, the band quickly garnered attention for their raw, energetic sound, mature lyrics and numerous collaborations. Having toured internationally, they've also earned plaudits from such publications as Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, American Songwriter and New Noise.

"For me, writing is something that has always been so intuitive - like it clicks or sometimes it doesn't click. But for this project, we just kind got into the studio and had really good chemistry. Now you know that a lot of songs came from that. Sometimes Tim would have an idea or sometimes I would. It just felt like electricity. Every single time that we would get together, we would have a new idea and we would have a new song basically," says Finnegan Bell.

In his turn, Tim Skold notes that, in a fleeting and constantly evolving music industry, this project presented unique opportunities that differ from his collaborations with such high-profile artists as Marilyn Manson and Ye, where heightened fame and media attention can significantly complicate the creative process, not to mention logistics.

Randy Houser and Miranda Lambert Deliver Heartfelt Tribute to Enduring Love with "Still That Cowboy"

Steve Hackett announces ‘Live Magic At Trading Boundaries’ for release in January

Steve Hackett’s annual performances at Trading Boundaries, in Sussex, UK have become something of a tradition for the legendary guitarist in recent years. Presenting stripped down material, and showcasing his acclaimed classical compositions, these unique & intimate concerts have become a highlight of the year, beloved of his fans. As Steve explains: “It’s always a joy for me to play at Trading Boundaries, a magical intimate place full of beautiful lights and exotic imagery, illuminating the darkest time of year over Christmas and New Year… It’s the perfect location for my acoustic set.”

‘Live Magic At Trading Boundaries’, set for release on January 17th 2025, collects various recordings from these shows from over the years, and also features appearances from regular collaborators including brother John Hackett on flute, Roger King on keys, Rob Townsend on flute & sax, & Amanda Lehmann on guitar & vocals. The release also coincides with Steve’s next two live appearances at the venue, on the 18th & 19th of January 2025.

SUNSTORM is a project created, overseen, and directed by Serafino Perugino, President of Frontiers Records, and it was originally designed to showcase a musical style similar to singer Joe Lynn Turner’s Melodic Rock/AOR roots.

Since 2021, SUNSTORM features one of the most impressive vocal talents of recent years, Lords of Black and Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero. Romero’s debut album with SUNSTORM, 'Afterlife' was released in early 2021 and showcased a rejuvenation of SUNSTORM's previous musical formula, mixing Melodic Rock/AOR with more '70s oriented hard rock, ala Rainbow (for which Romero performed as singer).

Romero's voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, The Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, and Elegant Weapons with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner.

Ronnie Romero is also a prolific solo artist, with the release of his first two cover albums 'Raised On Radio' and 'Raised On Heavy Radio' – where he pays tribute to legendary artists from the metal world – and his latest work 'Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters', the first to feature all-new original material, released in September 2023.

OPETH Streams Visualizers for Song, "§4 ," New Album 'The Last Will & Testament' Out Today

The wait is finally over and OPETH's highly anticipated 14th studio album, 'The Last Will & Testament,' is now available worldwide today, November 22, via Moderbolaget // Reigning Phoenix Music! To celebrate this release, the Swedish prog legends are now sharing a visualizer for the song "§4," which can be found below.

Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt comments on the track, "'§4' is an oddball song, just written by instinct. I'm not a clever guy when it comes to writing music. People call us 'thinking man's metal,' I think that's laughable. I listen to music from so many different genres, it's impossible to me to stick to one genre. I find the idea boring to try and belong somewhere, we're a bit all over the place, and I think this song shows our diversity. For '§4' I was inspired by something called 'twelve note music,' which I think is a classical term, where you're supposed to play twelve notes und you cannot repeat a note twice. I heard some of that music by classical pianists playing, and it sounds wicked, it sounds evil, it sounds really strange - so that inspired the initial guitar theme. There's a melodrome theme in the beginning, it just sounds odd, like it doesn't fit in, almost like a free-form jazz solo or something like that. But it quickly kind of lands in an almost traditional metal theme with a common response type death metal vocal that has a stereo double-tracked normal vocal response.

"I can't remember what happened during the writing process, but I reached a point where I just stopped and felt, 'ok, time for something strange!' We ended up with a flute solo by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, which was kind of an accident in a way, because I asked him to do a narration, not flute. As he was doing the spoken word bits, he asked me 'do you need a flute solo?' I was like, 'yes, please!‘, while I didn't really have a part for a flute solo! I had to shuffle through the songs quickly in my head before he would change his mind. I had him on the hook, of course I was gonna find a piece! So, he played almost like a common response type flute solo in '§4.'

"This is a great song with the ending piece being one of the more evil pieces of music I've written in a long time: it sounds really menacing, sick almost!“

Opeth's fourteenth album was written by Åkerfeldt, with lyrics conferred with Klara Rönnqvist Fors (The Heard, ex-Crucified Barbara). ‘The Last Will & Testament’ was co-produced by Åkerfeldt and Stefan Boman (Ghost, The Hellacopters), engineered by Boman, Joe Jones (Killing Joke, Robert Plant), and Opeth, with Boman, Åkerfeldt, and the rest of Opeth mixing at Atlantis and Hammerthorpe Studios in Stockholm. The strings on ‘The Last Will & Testament’ were arranged by Åkerfeldt and returning prog friend Dave Stewart (Egg, Khan) and conducted by Stewart at Angel Studios in London. Not one to miss a beat, visual artist Travis Smith returns to the fold, crafting his 11th cover, a haunting "photograph" reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's infamous "Overlook Hotel" photograph. Miles Showell (ABBA, Queen) also revisits mastering and vinyl lacquer cutting at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Åkerfeldt rolls out the red carpet for storied flautist and Jethro Tull main man Ian Anderson. Not only do Anderson's signature notes fly on "§4" and "§7", he narrates on "§1", "§2", "§4", and "§7". Joining Anderson, Europe's Joey Tempest lends a backing vocal hand on "§2”, while Åkerfeldt's youngest daughter, Mirjam Åkerfeldt, is the disembodied voice in "§1".

‘The Last Will & Testament ‘is gripping from start to finish, jaw-dropping inside and out, representing some of Opeth's finest material to date. Just as Opeth welcomed many into its distressed arms over the years, the Swedes again deliver on the promise that great music always tells a compelling story—this time with growls.

“It’s a restless record for me,” concludes Åkerfeldt. “It’s an explosion of ideas, which I like. It’s a bit shorter and snappier. But I definitely didn’t want to rehash anything. The only thing that has come back is some of those death metal screams, but the mindset is still much more forward looking. In typical Opeth fashion, it’s not a direct record that you understand and that you love or hate right away. It takes time and if you put that time into it, you might like it… or hate it! It feels like it was written on a whim. Which it was, in a way! I hear things on this album and think, where the fuck did that come from?”

LAINEY WILSON SECURES CMA FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Lainey Wilson entered the 2024 CMA Awards as a host alongside Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning for the first time this year and by the close of the show was awarded two CMA Awards including: Female Vocalist of the Year, her third consecutive win in the category, and Music Video of the Year for her #1 hit song “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”

In her acceptance speech for Female Vocalist of the Year, Lainey shared: "I've always been told if you feel like you've got a gift, you're supposed to share it, and I think that means whether you drive a tractor or pour coffee, make people smile or laugh, whatever that is I think you're supposed to share that gift."

Throughout the broadcast, Lainey would take the stage for two performances — an emotive, cinematic adaption of her current Top 20 and rising Broken Bow Records single “4x4xU” from her 2025 GRAMMY-nominated Country Album of the Year, Whirlwind, and again for the George Strait tribute performing his signature “Amarillo By Morning.” Lainey's live adaptation of "4x4xU" will release tonight to all streaming platforms. Legendary black metal icon ABBATH has partnered with renowned photographer JEREMY SAFFER for an exclusive print photo series! The limited edition prints were shot by Saffer and signed by Abbath; they can now be purchased HERE.

Jeremy Saffer comments, "I am elated to announce I have teamed up with the legendary Abbath Doom Occulta for an autographed print series. Abbath is an icon of icons and without question one of my favorite people to work with. His image is as iconic as his music and I am extremely fortunate to have had multiple opportunities to contribute to his visual legacy working together in photo shoots. (with more photos on the way soon!) The signed prints are from our shoots in New England over the past 10 years and are printed on Pearl paper which looks absolutely incredible giving it a metallic look with crystals in the paper. There are also super limited (4 of each) larger museum quality Hahnemühle Fine Art Giclée Agave prints which are just absolutely unreal in image, color, texture, and quality. There are an extremely limited amount of hand signed prints available, each were hand signed by Abbath in silver sharpie in Boston earlier this year. Its such a massive honor to work with such a legend and to team up on a very rare autograph print series with Abbath is beyond words."

The song, co-written and produced by Grammy-winning producer Ken Lewis (X Ambassadors, FUN.), captures the thrill, allure, and challenges faced by dreamers chasing their future in the vibrant city of New York.

Get a Little "MUD" on Ya — Dorothy Shares Official "MUD" Video

The raven-haired rock star from Los Angeles, DOROTHY, returned over the summer, with the scorching new single "MUD." She rode in on a black horse, equipped with leather and signature red lip, the rock world will once again be schooled in the undeniable chemistry that is alive and well amongst metal and rock loyalists and country badasses.

A musical outlaw through and through, Dorothy's new single is a display of raw, full-bodied vocal power complimented by heavy-hitting instrumentation and riffs galore. The song landed at No. 3 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and at No. 4 on the Active Rock Chart.

Earlier this month, the singer shared an explosive performance video of the song, something her legion of fans has been eager to see and hear. Watch it here.

The visual presents Dororhy in all of her bad-ass, rock 'n' roll glory.
