Hillhaven, Featuring Members of Ice Nine Kills + From Ashes to New, Share "Sycophants" Video

Earlier this year, members of Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes to New formed a brand new band called HILLHAVEN

Today, they have shared the official video for their fourth single "SYCOPHANTS." Watch it below. And prepare to get your party mosh on!

It follows the buzzy prior singles "Damned to Dream," "The God You Think You Are," and "GAPS."

"I think this might be the one we've all been most excited about, especially after shooting the video," says singer Chris Kelly. "It kind of felt like we were all getting a little peek at what a Hillhaven show might actually look like and, honestly, it doesn't get any less fun to watch, which I've done more times than I care to admit. There's an energy and charisma to this song that makes you wanna let loose and that's exactly what we did on set; one of those 'core-memory' type moments for us. Is party moshing a thing? Because it might have to be now."

The Hillhaven lineup is comprised of  the aforementioned Kelly (Alustrium, ex-Galactic Empire, and who is rumored to play for Babymetal's band) on vocals, as well as From Ashes to New's Maty Madiro on drums; Ice Nine Kills' Ricky Armellino on guitars; live From Ashes to New member Jimmy Bennett on guitars; and bassist Jaime GoWell.

Spinefarm Signs Deadlands, Band Shares "Villain"

SPINEFARM is pleased to welcome New York-based band DEADLANDS to the roster.

To kick off this new partnership, the band has shared the video for the new single "VILLAIN."

Watch it below.

"The narrator's journey is one of empowerment, as they reclaim their strength and flip the script on their oppressor," the band shares. "The imagery of setting traps and planning attacks symbolizes the strategic, calculated response to pride's manipulative grip, transforming the victim into a formidable force. As the song culminates, the protagonist embraces their role as the 'villain,' illustrating how the fight against pride can lead to a dark realization of one's own power by succumbing to the sin, losing themselves and ultimately their life in the process."

DEADLANDS are infusing fresh and unexpected energy into traditional metal. Founding member and frontwoman Kasey Karlsen is used to laying her cards face up on the table, as she has been writing about her toxic relationships, friendships, hardships, and current events — basically all topics that are near and dear to her heart — since she was in high school. She is also a social media star, drawing over a million followers across platforms, thanks to her compelling content. CJ Arey, professionally known as "NO SHADE," creates melodies for the guitar and bass while simultaneously inputting his own flare of trap and cinematic references into the production of the music. Kyle OBraitis creates all the drums for Deadlands. His hard-hitting rhythms and strategic placement for each song really drives the feel and direction for each track.

The band is currently working on new material for the label that is themed around the seven deadly sins. Fans of bands like Asking Alexandria, Motionless In White, Escape the Fate, Falling in Reverse, Wage War, and Bring Me The Horizon will be magnetically drawn to DEADLANDS.

"Villain" is just one of the seven deadly sins coming your way from Deadlands. Stay tuned for more.

Ashley McBryde Performs on ABC's "Good Morning America" + "GMA3" Tomorrow, 8/7

Following her hosting duties for ABC’s CMA Fest special, GRAMMY award winner Ashley McBryde is set to perform her current single “The Devil I Know” on “Good Morning America” and album closer “6th of October” on “GMA3: What You Need To Know” tomorrow, August. 7.

“Ashley McBryde writes about the outcasts – the best characters in her songs are downtrodden, stuck, and determined as ever. ‘The Devil I Know’ is an anthem for all of them,” lauds Vulture, naming the title track from her critically acclaimed album as one of the best songs of the year.

“6th of October” was written with Blue Foley and CJ Field after the passing of one of McBryde’s longtime collaborators, Randall Clay, with Field bringing in a song he’d started with Clay. The track has since become a celebration of self-compassion among her fans, with Billboard sharing “acceptance and self-assuredness flows particularly on album closer ‘6th of October,’” while Arkansas Democrat-Gazette calls it “bittersweet, John Prine-ish.”

Named one of the best country albums of the year by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Slate, Paste, Holler and more, the cover art for The Devil I Know includes five representations of the different facets of McBryde’s personality: Joan of Arkansas, the Golden Gal, Girl in Red, Blackout Betty and Ashley Damn McBryde. To celebrate each one, McBryde compiled playlists of her songs from each persona, with the full collection titled Meet the Family.

McBryde recently wrapped The Devil I Know Tour Presented by Ariat and will perform headlining dates across the U.S. through the summer before joining Cody Johnson on The Leather Tour this fall. For additional dates and tickets, visit AshleyMcBryde.com.

Levi Hummon Premieres "Make It Love" Official Music Video on CMT

Fresh off the release of his powerful and hopeful new song “Make It Love,” Red Van Records artist Levi Hummon teams up with CMT to premiere a captivating music video that radiates vibrancy and emotion. Available on all platforms today, the video starts with a monochromatic palette, but as the song builds, the visuals transform, blooming into a kaleidoscope of colors that showcase the song's message of optimism and connection. Directed by Nikki Fletcher, watch the video below.

“The video is representative of the simplicity and beauty of the song,” said Hummon. “It’s really just four layers of instruments and vocals, and the element of the string quartet behind me—I think it feels so classy, cool, and contemporary. The performance video transforms from black and white to color and has a Wizard of Oz effect. It’s super beautiful, and that’s what the song is to me. The video feels elegant, and I’m so excited to partner with my friends at CMT to premiere this video to the world.”

“Make It Love” embodies the enduring power of love. Co-written with his father, Grammy Award-winning writer Marcus Hummon, and the late Andrew Dorff, this powerful love song is a much-needed reminder of the beauty and strength of love.

Music Row Magazine said of the song, "Make It Love," it is “a hopeful, moving pop ode to curing the world’s ills with love. Very, very pretty and thoroughly enjoyable from the opening acoustic guitar notes to the string embellished finish.”

In addition to the new song and video, Hummon will soon join his friend and collaborator, Walker Hayes, for select shows on his Same Drunk Tour. The pair can currently be heard on Hummon’s hit single “Paying For It,” which they co-wrote with producer Eric Arjes. The song has more than 30 million streams and inspired a dance that became a TikTok sensation.

Chase Rice Unveils Independent Album 'Go Down Singin'' Set for Sept. 20 Release

Building upon the ironic turn of 2023’s I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, celebrated by Billboard as “one of 2023’s most unexpected artistic pivots” and one of the best albums of the year across all genres, Diamond-certified songwriter Chase Rice doubles down on the raw introspection of that project with forthcoming independent release Go Down Singin’ arriving September 20. Pre-order/pre-save HERE.

Mirroring the cover art of that critically acclaimed I Hate Cowboys album, which features an image of his late father holding two Coors Banquets during the late ‘80s in Wyoming, Rice recreated that photo himself for Go Down Singin’ as he continues to honor the man who not only served as his childhood hero, but who also still shapes his music and the person he is today.

Marveling at being a work-in-progress, he considers the 11-song cycle an arrival on the brink of “being the man my father always believed I could be.” Now, after what seems like so many chances, the Florida-born, North Carolina-raised dreamer is making good on what his father told him so many years ago, “Boy, anyone can play guitar, but no one is gonna really listen to you until you start singing.”

And writing. Though he co-wrote “Cruise,” arguably one of country’s biggest songs this century, Rice realized he’d only been skimming the surface. A kid when he started, he faced challenges, loss, soul-searching and gained a new appreciation for the art instead of the craft. With Go Down Singin’ Rice emerges as a spirit settling into a more philosophical place, still wildly committed to living wide open in pursuit of his dream and being the best man possible.

In a voice sturdy as a retaining wall, Rice confesses, “I’m 38 now, and that’s part of it. I’ve journaled since I was 15 years old, but there’s something about being able to tell other people. I’m a deep person, but I don’t know to show it in real life, so I’m trying to do it in my music.

“For me, Go Down Singin’ is everything about where I am and what I want,” he continues. “I’m starting to see myself as who I want to be, not who I thought I should be. That’s a good start. And I think a lot of men struggle with this stuff, too.”

Getting honest, digging down, Rice shifted his approach. Collaborating for a second time with producer Oscar Charles (Boy Named Banjo, Madeline Edwards, Elvie Shane), the pair worked to create a sound that was as honest, as real instrument-grounded as the songs that were emerging. Written largely on guitars and piano, Go Down Singin’ shows a man reckoning with growing up.

“For one record, I thought I was Ed Sheeran. For one, I thought I was Florida Georgia Line,” he offers. “I was 22. I got into the party scene, I got lost. I didn’t know. I was very influenced by Eric Church, and wanted to be like him, though mostly, I was just so confused. You fall into things, being in the studio, and you look back…”

Now when Rice looks back, it’s for the sake of the songs. As a writing process, Go Down Singin’ also marks a creative – if seemingly unlikely – collaboration with three-time GRAMMY winner Lori McKenna, who is also featured on the album. Known for vulnerable but clear-eyed emotion, the Americana force came to see Rice play in Boston and recognized the wounding and the promise inside him.

“I just had Chase Rice over here, who I had not known. His last record has a song called ‘Bench Seat.’ I think it’s like a masterclass in songwriting, and he wrote it by himself,” McKenna shared with Billboard of their first songwriting session together. “I think he’s got this long, beautiful road ahead of him.”

“I wanted to bring her a song I had started that was the story of moving to Nashville, getting anything you wanted and losing it all,” Rice recalls of “Oh Tennessee,” one of their four cowrites on the album. “I knew she would understand, and from there, well, we had so much to say.”

Across their collaborations and the entire record, the man who’s had three No. 1s, his own sold-out tours and key stadium support slots with Garth Brooks and Kenny Chesney takes stock of where he is, where he’s going and what really matters.

“I’m a fuck up, and I know it,” he admits. “But I’m trying. I mean, my favorite story in the Bible is David, who sends his best friend off to war, so he can be with his friend’s wife… I was a lost kid who lost his Dad. I’m not alone. I know lots of people struggle, too. The last record dealt with that loss, and this one is about taking all that and becoming who you’re meant to be.”

About Chase Rice
With more than 2.6 million albums sold and over 2.8 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With new releases “Fireside” and “Go Down Singin’” previewing his forthcoming independent album Go Down Singin’ (Sept. 20) as the follow-up to critically acclaimed album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, Rice’s sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life; from emotional reckoning to an admiration of the American West. The recent album, including standout tracks “Oklahoma” and “Bench Seat,” serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, which featured his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” and the Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.”

This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, freer; unbeholden and uninhibited. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the 3x Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Platinum-certified Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; Platinum-certified “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Double Platinum “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to guesting on sold-out stadium shows with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice consistently sells out venues on his own headlining tours, including the recent Get Western Tour in support of his new music, and he is currently serving as direct support on Dierks Bentley’s Gravel & Gold Tour.

Randall King Arrives At Country Radio w/ “I Could Be That Rain”

For eight years, Hereford, Texas native Randall King has been traveling the country, bringing true honky tonk sound to over 140 venues each year. Now, King is lending his neotraditional baritone to the airwaves, as “I Could Be That Rain” arrives at country radio today as the most-added single, with 35 stations spinning the song on impact. Listen below.

With nearly 400 million career streams across his growing catalog, King's first single at Country radio was written by Brian Fuller and Mason Thornley, and is the first from his 2024 sophomore record Into The NeonKing’s vocal delivery captures the pain of unanswered calls and lonely thoughts.

“Man, I’m pumped! I’ve been eager, and patient, for this opportunity my whole career and I am ready to ride those air waves,” King shares. “It’s something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid, listening to Strait and Alan on the airwaves, mimicking they’re singing in the side mirror from the passenger seat. This is ‘all I’ve ever wanted, so I’m chasing that neon rainbow’ now!”

Into The Neon, which arrived in January via Warner Music Nashville, was praised by Billboard for King’s “smooth vocal styling,” while Texas Monthly declared “his Texas bona fides are unimpeachable” and Holler lauded King as “the genre's neo-traditional figurehead.”

King is gearing up for his 10-show Into The Neon - International Tour, kicking off August 18 with a sold-out show in Oslo, Norway, and additional sold-out stops in Copenhagen, Denmark; Amsterdam, Netherlands and more.

In September, King will bring his annual KingFest back to the Nashville Palace, with special guests Walker Montgomery and Brian Fuller on Sept. 13, and Braxton Keith and Mackenzie Porter on Sept. 14.

About Randall King:
A West Texas native and self-described “old soul," Warner Music Nashville's Randall King has never wavered in his honky-tonk allegiance – in fact, he’s worn it like a badge of honor, growing with pride into a leading voice for today’s traditional country. Amassing nearly 400 Million streams with singles like “You In A Honky Tonk,” “Hey Cowgirl” and “Mirror, Mirror,” he’s kept the twang alive in country’s mainstream while also earning acclaim through deeply personal EPs like 2020’s Leanna, and his 2022 major label album debut, Shot Glass – which landed on both Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 Country Albums of 2022 and Billboard’s All Genre 50 Best Albums of 2022 (So Far). Schooled on icons like Keith Whitley, George Strait, Alan Jackson and John Anderson, but inspired by modern masters like Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan, King first built an independent, grass-roots following on the strength of his electrifying live shows – each one a harrowing mix of rowdy roughnecking, romantic tenderness and breathtaking emotion – never asking for permission to explore his creative vision. He has since gone on to headline all across the U.S., the U.K. and Europe, where he continues to play nearly 150 shows a year and hone his craft where it matters most. Named a Country Artist to Watch by everyone from Pandora and Country Now to Music Mayhem Magazine, his sophomore major label album Into the Neon, available now, takes that craft to the next level, as King’s neo-traditional roots meet the blood-pumping rhythms and sharp, arena-sized grooves of Y2K-era country and beyond. Co-produced by King and Jared Conrad, and featuring 18 tracks, punchy sounds exist side-by-side with timeless swagger, further blurring the line between yesteryear and today – even as King renews his forever-country vows.

The Light Age was written and recorded over a few weeks in both Buffalo, NY, and Milford, CT, where the members reside.Taking cues from the Grunge Rock and Hardcore of the 1990s that was so influential to them growing up, the members of Many Eyes skillfully blend chaos with melody.

Many Eyes’ live performances, including their tour with post-hardcore icons THURSDAY, have demonstrated their ability to deliver high-energy shows with precision and emotion. With Craig Vittorio now on guitar and Sean Vallie on bass, alongside Nick Bellmore’s powerful drumming and Keith Buckley’s commanding vocals, the band remains focused on pushing forward and exploring new creative horizons.

SMILE EMPTY SOUL is a hard rock band that originated in Los Angeles, CA in the late 1990’s and has stayed true to their brand of “no bullshit”, “real as it gets” hard rock to this day. The band signed a major label record deal in 2003 to release their self-titled debut album in May of that year. They realized huge success at alternative radio, rock radio, and the music video channels that have since fallen by the wayside or turned into reality show networks.

After 3 very successful singles/videos and a gold record from the debut release, the band ran into trouble with their record company (which was in the midst of turmoil at the top levels) and found themselves working extra hard in the trenches, and signed to indie labels or no label at all from then on.

This would become SMILE EMPTY SOUL’s destiny, as they have gone on to release many more albums and EP’s on various labels, as well as their own company “smile empty music inc”. The band released their 9th full length record Black Pilled on October 12th of 2021 completely on their own.

“Smile” has become known for its constant touring and never wavering honest sound/lyrics. They’ve never changed for anybody, and turned down many opportunities to “sell out” because it’s not who they are.

With a new album, and just as much drive as they had starting out 20 years ago, this band looks to continue to build on the legacy they’ve created as one of the hardest working, and most underrated bands in rock and roll.

The band has recently partnered with TLG|ZOID / Virgin Music Group to release new music. Denny Sanders (The Label Group) and Sean Danielsen previously partnered on the successful release of Consciousness. Released in 2009 the record has become second only to the band's debut release in popularity.

The Native Howl Release "God's Gonna Cut You Down" + Official Video via Sumerian Records

Purveyors of their own genre-blurring sound "Thrash Grass", The Native Howl has breathed new life into Johnny Cash's brooding "God's Gonna Cut You Down" with their fresh reimagination of the song and accompanying music video (via Sumerian Records). Speaking about the track, the band commented:

"It was a privilege to honor Johnny Cash by following Frankie Nasso’s vision for this project. This song and video have a very different tone than anything in our repertoire thus far, and the writing/arrangement process was just as unique to us. We are grateful to Jay Ruston for helping us capture the studio magic of its’ assembly, and create a new Howl soundscape, of which we are very proud!

After winning Season 1 of the hit TV series No Cover and signing with Sumerian Records, the band released tracks "Can't Sleep", "Sons Of Destruction", and most recently, "Mercy" featuring the inimitable Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. Stream "God's Gonna Cut You Down" here and watch the music video below.

The Native Howl is a genre-defying quartet hailing from Leonard, Michigan, USA. Their fast-tempo music they’ve coined as “Thrash Grass” combines the aggression and intensity of thrash metal with the precision and melodicism of bluegrass. The band was born from a musical experiment that defied all expectations by blending elements of folk, bluegrass, rock, and metal, resulting in a sound entirely their own. With a dash of outlaw spirit and a touch of the wilderness, their music transports listeners to a sonic landscape where the traditional meets the contemporary. From foot-stomping bluegrass jams to lightning-fast metal-esque banjo picking, their tracks are a musical thrill ride that keeps the listener guessing with each note. Their lyrics often explore the dark sides of the human condition, nature, and the trials of life, creating a deep and personal connection with their audience.

The Native Howl Is:

Alex Holycross - Guitar, Bouzouki, Lead Vocals

Jake Sawicki - Guitar, Banjo, Vocals

Mark Chandler - Bass, Vocals

Zach Bolling - Drums, Percussion

1349 Unleashes Haunting Music Video for New Single, "The God Devourer"

True Norwegian black metal horde 1349 will be releasing their eighth full-length, 'The Wolf and the King,' on October 4, 2024 via Season of Mist! The Norwegian horde is now unleashing the third offering from the record, "The God Devourer," along with a music video! The clip was directed by Claudio Marino and produced by Artax Film; it can be found below.

1349 frontman Ravn comments, “'The God Devourer.' Opening track of 'The Wolf and the King.' It tears a hole in the universe and set the atmosphere for the album as a whole. It strangely also resonates perfectly with the ominous apocalyptic mood of the world today.”

The forthcoming offering was mastered by Jarrett Pritchard and produced and mixed by Prichard & 1349 frontman Ravn at NEW CONSTELLATION R.M.P.

Pre-order for 'The Wolf and the King' are now live HERE.

1349 is not like other bands. It’s not a group of friends who decided to make music together. 1349 is a band formed with a unified vision and specific purpose: To maintain the legacy of black metal.

“I didn’t like the direction that black metal took in the mid part of the ’90s,” 1349 vocalist and mastermind Ravn recalls. “It started losing everything that I liked about black metal—the grimness, the eeriness, the primal emotions that captivated me and brought me into that sphere. You had all these synthesizer-based bands dressing up in pirate shirts and looking like goths. It ruined something that I truly hold close to my heart.”

In 1997, Ravn formed 1349 and recruited bassist Seidemann and, now former, guitarist Tjalve to help him pursue the vision of recapturing the original spirit of black metal. The longstanding lineup of Ravn, Seidemann, guitarist Archaon, and drummer Frost (also of Satyricon) has been in place since 2001. “I found people that felt the same way as me,” Ravn says of his bandmates. “We wanted to bring back the trademark of Norwegian black metal, as it was presented in the early 90s. Every time we release an album, that’s the inspiration and the backdrop.”

The Wolf and the King is the latest sortie in that crusade.1349’s eighth album sees the Oslo-based band harnessing the primordial energy of black metal’s decade-defining second wave and channeling it through ancient mysteries and the relentless global chaos of the 2020s.

The album title comes from a classic alchemical allegory: A wolf devours a king. Then the wolf is devoured by flames, and a new king rises from the ashes. “When I first heard about alchemy when I was young, it was people turning metal into gold,” Ravn says. “Further down the road, through various literatures and magical practices, I realized that what you’re turning into gold is metaphorical. It’s about personal development, basically. You want to be the best you can be, and that’s what we try to do as well. We try to top ourselves, to kill our egos in order to grow as persons. If you don’t do that, you will die. You will not rise from the ashes.”

Lead single “Ash of Ages” combines thrash with extreme metal flourishes and a proper doomsday theme. “The song is based on a story I read about a layer of ash that covered the Earth 12,000 years ago,” Ravn explains. “This layer of ash comes from a meteorite that struck the Earth during the Ice Age. It melted a lot of the ice, which is where the Great Flood came from. The Great Flood is in the Bible, but it was written about in every ancient culture. The theory is that it washed away a lot of other ancient cultures that held a higher intelligence level than those that were found after the flood. So, it possibly set human civilization back many thousands of years.”

Released as a one-sided maxi-12” with a flipside etching by Jordan Barlow—who did all the artwork for The Wolf and the King (as well as the band’s 2019 album, The Infernal Pathway)—“Ash of Ages” is also a warning to check your ego. “To think that you’re important, that you’re anything but an ant down there, is futile,” Ravn points out. “In the end, everything will be washed away, and nothing will be left.”

“Shadow Point” comes complete with a video and revisits the sonic domain of The Infernal Pathway with a classic headbanger groove. “This one references the Star of Algol, or ‘the Demon Star,’” Ravn offers. “It’s actually two stars that revolve around each other, and the small one is devouring the big one. Human beings have seen this star from early ages, and it has had many names over the years. It’s a known part of the magical world, so I wanted to include it in a song.”

Shot through with menace and a snaky groove, album opener “The God Devourer” will also have a video. “The lyrics are based on the alchemical principle of devouring all that you feel is in your way of becoming a better human,” Ravn says. “It sets the ominous tone for the whole album.”

Recorded at Amper Tone in Oslo, Norway, and New Constellation R.M.P. in Orlando, Florida, The Wolf and the King was produced and mixed by Ravn and Jarrett Pritchard (Eulogy, Pulchra Morte), the band’s long-standing sonic wizard who also worked on their previous two albums. The lyrics were written by the band’s longtime wordsmith, Svartalv, who has been working with 1349 for twenty years.

Jordan Barlow’s elaborate artwork for The Wolf and the King reflects the album’s chronological position in 1349’s discography. “This is our eighth album, and the artwork and lyrics are filled with references to this number of infinity,” Ravn explains. “You can basically go on a quest finding references to the number in the artwork.”

All told, The Wolf and the King is the exalted output of the joint force that is 1349. “We all work together to make the best black metal possible every time we release an album,” Ravn says. “This is our common goal. We’re a band on a mission.”

The cover artwork for 'The Wolf and The King' was created by Jordan Barlow

Trashcan Sinatras' John Douglas presents 'Oranges & Apples', announces North American tour in support of debut album

Acclaimed Scottish troubadour John Douglas, whose songwriting and artistry have been integral to the enduring legacy of Trashcan Sinatras, presents an intimate video for Trashcans classic 'Oranges & Apples'. This is one of 11 tracks on his eponymous debut album, released via Reveal Records.

It's been a fine year for Douglas, including a UK headlining tour, UK Top-40 charting of Trashcan Sinatras' reissued debut album 'Cake' (33 years since its original release), and a new Trashcan Sinatras documentary, produced by award-winning Irish journalist Ken Sweeney. Tracing their 35-year story, it features first-hand accounts from band members, explores dramatic moments in their history, and includes acoustic performances by Douglas of some of the Trashcans' most-loved songs.

Now Douglas announces his 'Lost in North America Tour - Part One', taking his craft on the road throughout October.

"I am so excited to be coming to the USA and Canada this year to debut my solo shows. It’s me, my guitar and many songs..  some new and some old with a new lick of paint. I will get lost in song and story and look forward to conjuring up the good stuff in North America," says John Douglas.

One of Scotland’s finest songwriters, Douglas will be joined for his West coast and Midwest dates by Lily Vakili of Vakili Band, a savvy street poet who finds the sweet spot between Patti Smith, Grace Slick and Janis Joplin. For East coast dates, he will be joined by singer-songwriteLauren Calve, whose new album 'Shift' earned her the 2024 Wammie Award for Best Country/Americana Album.  Together, these artists will treat listeners to an intimate series of masterclasses in musical storytelling.

Part of the 'Me & Midnight Sessions', 'Oranges & Apples' follows the first acoustic video filmed in Hyndland, Glasgow - 'I Just Want To Go Home'.  Earlier, Douglas shared videos for album tracks 'Lost', 'I'm Not The Fella' and 'Always'plus Trashcans classics 'Leave Me Alone' and 'Weightlifting'.

John Douglas shares, "'Oranges & Apples is a song very close to my heart. It’s a love song to a fellow artist… the late Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd. He ploughed his own furrow and showed all who followed how to be your eccentric, individual, glorious self. Stay true to you. Paint, sing, write, sculpt, carve, dance your own way through this playground. Hang on to your wonder at this world. Syd did. He’s away now… gone, but resonating on. As the song says.. now everything is enhanced by him".

His debut album presents an intimate snapshot of the talent, charisma and depth of this celebrated songsmith, recorded live at Kyoti Studio in Glasgow with renowned producer Mark Freegard (New Model Army, Lush, The Breeders, Del Amitri, Marillion). Reflecting Douglas' candor, this 11-track collection features original material and new recordings of fave Trashcan Sinatras' material, plus his own rendition of the Prefab Sprout classic ‘We Let The Stars Go’.

Apart from touring with his partner Eddi Reader’s band, the past few years have seen Douglas perform around the UK and Ireland, sometimes joined by friends like Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), Jill Jackson, Withered Hand, James Grant (Love & Money), and even Martin McAloon (Prefab Sprout), with whom he first toured in 1990 for the Trashcan Sinatras / Prefab Sprout double bill.

John Douglas' debut album is available on CD and digitally via Bandcamp, as well as from fine online platforms. US fans are also in luck as he'll be on his first headline tour in October.

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Fall of Summer,” is currently climbing the chart at country radio and was most added its first week. Listen to “Fall of Summer” on the album Rolling Stone says is “every bit as legit as Jamey Johnson’s That Lonesome Song, Garth Brooks’ In Pieces, or Randy Travis’ Storms of Life,” HERE

“Across the 13-track collection, McCreery exhibits his continued growth as a vocalist and songwriter,” notes Holler. People echoes the sentiment, writing that the album “brims with a newfound confidence and maturity,” while Country Nowcalls it “his best record yet,” and American Songwriter declares it a “career album” as Rise & Fall finds him exploring not only heartbreak but rowdy nights, nostalgia, faith, newfound joy, fatherhood and enduring love, resulting in a project full of insightful storytelling. The album was produced by McCreery’s longtime production team of Frank Rogers, Derek Wells and Aaron Eshuis.

McCreery co-wrote 12 of the 13 songs on the album, which Billboard observes, “Light-hearted fare such as ‘Stuck Behind a Tractor’ and ‘And Countin’’ mesh with heartbreak brushoffs such as ‘Lonely,’ the bluegrass-inflected album-closer ‘Porch’ and the faith-filled ‘Red Letter Blueprint.’” It is available digitally as well as on CD and vinyl. In addition, Amazon is releasing a limited-edition forest green vinyl version of the album. Order autographed vinyl and CDs of Rise & Fall HERE.

This Friday, Aug. 9 McCreery is set to join Callista Clark on her latest release, the duet “Gettin’ Old” on the Dreamcatcher Artists label (pre-save HERE). Clark wrote the song with Averie Bielski and Karen Kasowski, while Joey Hyde and Frank Rogers share production credits.

Of the collaboration McCreery shared, “I’ve been a fan of Callista and her talent for some time, especially after having her out on my European tour a few years ago,” said McCreery. “I loved this song from the first time I heard it and was honored that she asked me to sing it with her.”

The two recently shot a music video for the track, conceived, produced and directed by award-winning film maker Roman White, which will be released in the coming weeks.

With his latest album Rise & Fall, featuring his sixth No. 1 single “Cab in a Solo,” current single “Fall of Summer,” and 12 additional tracks, McCreery explores classic themes of heartbreak, rowdy nights, nostalgia, faith, newfound joy, fatherhood, and enduring love, and through it all, felt comfortable being himself, resulting in a project full of electrified twang, rich baritone vocals and insightful storytelling. Kenny Chesney Hits Another Record in Nashville

Kenny Chesney brought the blazing Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour home to Music City’s Nissan Stadium, and set another personal record for the tour. With 57,523 people packed into the stands, floor and sandbar, it surpassed his best attendance at the venue by 300. Even more than the number of tickets, Chesney’s high-impact, go hard and give it all away performance was a testament to the joy of playing live and a catalogue of songs that define coming of age in the 21st century.

Soaked with sweat from the earliest part of his two-hour set, Chesney tore across the T , threw songs into the crowd and let them chime in. Without missing a beat, he ventured into old favorites, duets with Uncle Kracker, Megan Moroney and surprise guests Old Dominion on “Save It for a Rainy Day” – and debuted “Just To Say We Did,” the acoustic midtempo about living in the moment. For the eight-time Entertainer of the Year, it was a matter of delivering in a city known for songwriters, musicians, singers and more.

“Nashville’s known for the quality of its creative people,” the songwriter/superstar from East Tennessee explained. “And when you hit that stage, you’re playing for people who know what it means to pour life into songs, to play as if your life depended on it. When you’re playing for people like that, you really want to give it all away.”

Having bested his previous best attendance of 2022’s 57,211 by more than 300, the Nissan Stadium show had added more than a thousand tickets the day prior. Marking his sixth play at the home of the Tennessee Titans, the concert was also Chesney’s 200th stadium show – and one that resonated with a crowd that sang any time he stopped and tilted from side to side in time to his like “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems,” “Get Along” and “Don’t Happen Twice.”

Whether delivering a life-spanning ballad like “There Goes My Life,” a joyously buoyant “Summertime,” the hilarious romp “Out Last Night” or blasting through the surging “Living in Fast Forward,” the man deemed “the People’s Superstar” by the Los Angeles Times delivered from the heart.

“Memories are made in moments like our show,” Chesney says. “You can’t always know what it is, just that people live their lives inside these songs – and when No Shoes Nation comes together with purpose, shows turn into their own kind of momentum. Just hearing people sing back on so many of the songs was reason to push even harder. I’m lucky I have a band up to the task.”

With just three weekends left on Chesney’s Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour, including an unprecedented three-night stand at Gillette Stadium, this year’s tour presented by Blue Chair Bay® Rum is celebrating new friends and old, memories in the making and songs that have defined coming of age across the heartland this century.

To The Grave Drop Music Video For Brand New Track "BURN YOUR LOCAL BUTCHER"

Australian deathcore powerhouse and ardent animal rights activists, To The Grave have dropped brand new track, "Burn Your Local Butcher" today, along with an accompanying music video. An obnoxiously heavy display of the ferocious, no-punches-pulled, modern deathcore the band are rapidly becoming famed for, "Burn Your Local Butcher" is the second track to be released from the band's upcoming new album, 'Everyone's A Murderer,' scheduled for release on August 30th via Unique Leader Records. To The Grave vocalist, Dane Evans explains

"For this you'll need:

A glass bottle

Any flammable (or combustible) liquid (alcoholic drinks with a higher percentage of alcohol can also work)

A rug or a towel

First, take the glass bottle and pour your flammable liquid there.

Take the towel, twist it to the size that fits into the bottle, then put it into the bottle, making sure the larger part of the towel is outside the bottle, not inside, otherwise you risk activating it instantly when you burn the towel.

(optional) put some of the flammable liquid on the towel

Now, when you want to use it, light the towel on fire, and try throwing the molotov cocktail as soon as possible after that."

Everyone's A Murderer’, the band's upcoming third full-length album, promises to be To The Grave's heaviest and most evolved offering yet, both sonically and thematically. The album attacks societal and environmental themes with the relentless intensity the band are known for, giving voice to the voiceless via their unique, signature blend of brutally impactful deathcore.

Providing further insight on the new album, Evans shares

"For this record my aim was to speak through the faceless activists that fight for animals, for those living in vystopia feeling alone and helpless in a world that will fight tooth and nail to defend the animal holocaust. Due to it being illegal to rescue farmed animals from abuse these activists must stay silent about it to avoid having their own freedom taken.

It wasn't an easy task, it's never going to do justice to the horrors animals go through every day by the millions in cold, dark sheds around the world or to those that have witnessed it and are doing everything they can to put an end to it. There's no words, no lyrics and no music that can describe the violence or bring back the lives stolen by human hands so this is for them.

Our idea for this album evolved so much before it started but we knew we wanted something that sounded classic, like it was from a different decade entirely. It had to have all the elements that brought us all towards deathcore all those years ago combined with all the modern touches you'd find in the recent TTG material, all whilst trying to do something new and step outside our comfort zone in the process.

It was cool to work with the new lineup on the gritty details like production, tones and getting the energy of the drums down. Once the album was in a listenable state these guys really gave it all personality and brought everything to the table to shape this new sound.

We're very critical of ourselves as artists and have made music in the past that for whatever reason we haven't loved. With that in mind I think the overall goal with this record was to make something that regardless of what anyone else thought, we were proud of and I'm happy that we all had that shared vision in mind.

We probably had the most fun making this record that we've ever had and it felt liberating to be able to make something that we liked. It felt like starting the band from new again and only having the pressure of wanting to write cool shit.

The singles are tough as fuck and I think do a good job of representing the blunt force approach on the album leaving a tonne of surprises in the sharps bin for when people pick it up on release day. That should make sense when it drops."

ABOUT TO THE GRAVE

One of Australia’s most uncompromising bands, To The Grave garnered international success with their 2019 debut album 'Global Warning'. The caustic five piece have continued to collect international success, with 2021’s follow-up 'Epilogue', a re-issue of 'Global Warning' with bonus tracks, their 2023 album, 'Director's Cuts' along with it's subsequent Deluxe release, which featured a new collection of tracks on the 'Offcuts' EP solidifying their position as “one of the country's heaviest exports.” (Revolver).

To The Grave have steadily built an audience in the underground, accumulating more than 11 million Spotify streams, racking up over 5.4 million YouTube views, all whilst decimating live audiences alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris, Cattle Decapitation, Thy Art Is Murder, Shadow of Intent, Angelmaker, Enterprise Earth, Vulvodynia and Alpha Wolf.

Now, following a sold-out national headline tour in 2022, global critical acclaim for the release of 'Director's Cuts' and it's Deluxe release, featuring the 'Offcuts' EP and plenty of upcoming tours, the band are more focused than ever.

To The Grave lyrically expose a societal and environmental hell on earth whilst pushing the boundaries of accessible extremity, full of barbed hooks, thick with atmosphere and drenched in groove. Razor-sharp guitars played with an exploratory approach - blending everything from whammy pedal squeaks and chiming cleans to death metal chainsaw tones - are entwined with live drums to give a level of dynamism that musically sets this band apart from the extreme metal pack, yet they maintain the weight of the heaviest bands today. Vocalist Dane Evans commands a multifaceted performance, bursting with vocal energy from throat-ripping dissonant screeches to low end gutturals.

To The Grave are

Dane Evans - Vocals

Jack Simioni - Guitars, Programming

Matt Clarke - Bass, Vocals

Nic Webb - Guitars, Vocals

Rangi Barnes - Drums
