Capsule to Release New "Ferox" EP on 12/12

Capsule are back with brand new EP, titled Ferox. It's out on December 12. Pre-order it here. 

The band formed in 2005 in Miami, Florida with Eric Hernandez (drums, vocals) and Colin Smith (guitar, vocals). Performing as a three-piece with Shane Starak on bass, Capsule released a 7-song demo on Robotic Empireand toured extensively across the U.S., until 2007 when Ryan Haft replaced Starak on bass. Their first full length album, Blue, was released in 2008 on Robotic Empire.  

By 2010, Capsule became a four-piece, with Haft moving to second guitar and Hernandez moving to bass guitar and vocals. Capsule released their second full length record, No Ghost, on Rorschach Records in 2011. Performing with various drummers in both the U.S. and Europe, the lineup was finally rounded out with Derrick Flanagin on drums.  

After some touring around the U.S., including a stop at BEST FRENDS DAY in Richmond, Virginia, the five song EP, [A], was released digitally on April 20, 2013.  

On October 31 of this year, Robotic Empire and Rorschach Records released [A] on vinyl for the first time. The release and other merch is available here. 

After nearly a decade of no live performances, Capsule performed at the Fest 21 in Gainesville, Florida.

"Our priority is to make more music," the band states. "We'd all be doing that anyway in some form or another, and with Capsule, we can push things as far as we want, both musically and technically. We don't have any expectations other than producing the best art we can."

Bleed the Sky Enters Studio for Highly Anticipated 4th Album, Scheduled to Release in Summer 2024

An announcement that will set the metalcore community ablaze, Bleed the Sky has officially commenced the recording process for their long-anticipated fourth studio album. The band, renowned for their ferocious sound and unwavering stage presence, has entered the studio with a mission to create a sonic masterpiece that will undoubtedly redefine the genre.

Known for their previous chart-topping releases and electrifying live performances, Bleed the Skyis poised to raise the bar even higher with this upcoming album. Fans around the globe have been eagerly awaiting new material, and the band is primed to deliver an experience that transcends expectations.

The as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024, promising a soundtrack that encapsulates the raw energy and uncompromising spirit for which Bleed the Sky is known for. With their signature blend of relentless riffs, thunderous percussion, and evocative lyrics, the band aims to leave an indelible mark on the metalcore landscape.

Hailing from the musical breeding grounds of Orange County, CA, metalcore band Bleed the Skybegan in 2003 with vocalist Noah Robinson, guitarists Kyle Moorman and Wayne Miller, bassist Casey Kulek, sampler Luke Andersen and drummer Austin D’Amond. Merely two months later and ready to dive into the music scene, the group performed their first show to a sold out crowd in an opening spot for Opeth and their second headlining the world famous Whisky A Go Go.

Early the following year their first EP, Bleed the Sky, was produced by Ben Schigel, known for his work engineering and mixing great music with groups such as Ringworm, Chimaira, and Walls of Jericho. The band sold over 1,000 copies on their own before signing a deal with Nuclear Blast Records in the fall of 2004. Their April of 2005 debut for the label, Paradigm in Entropy (2005), featured a futuristic, industrial, and melody-infused take on nu-metal’s dissonant riffs and aggressive vocals.

The album cemented the band as a forerunner in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement of the mid 2000’s and allowed for many opportunities and shows, including a consistent rotation on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball. Their major success allowed them to tour with the likes of Hatebreed, Soulfly, Napalm Death, Red Chord, Agnostic Front, Disturbed, Diecast, and ILL Nino, only further promoting their albums and musical talent over the years.

Following the release of two well received albums with Nuclear Blast Records, Paradigm in Entropy (2005), and Murder the Dance (2008), they once again aimed to redefine who they are with a new label, Art Is War Records. The releases of This Way Lies Madness (2020) and the single "The Devil Will See You Now" (2020) started to gain the band massive online attention with the single reaching over a million streams on Spotify.

Not letting the pandemic keep them down for long, Bleed the Sky has returned with the same intensity that fans of their previous albums will be familiar with, as well as a new brutality that they are excited to share with the metal community. In 2022, Monte Barnard joined the group as the new frontman and was eager to bring his talent and experience to an already versatile group.

Getting his start in Northern California’s Death Metal scene, Monte Barnard joined Alterbeast in 2014 and continued his work touring and filling in on vocals with such bands as Thy Art Is Murder, The Kennedy Veil, and Fallujah. He still also fronts Emberthrone on Seek & Strike Records, as well as Lesser Animal.

Armed with a new vocalist and the release of a new single, “The Parasite” featuring guest vocalist Mark Hunter from Chimaira, they are set to make a mark once more in the music world and enthrall the masses with vigor.

The group is currently composed of Monte Barnard on Vocals, Kevin Garcia on Guitar, Wayne Miller on Guitar, David Culbert on Bass and Austin D’Amond on Drums.

Darkest Hour Announce New Album "Perpetual | Terminal" + Share Video for Title Track — WATCH // Touring With Exodus This Fall

Washington, D.C. quintet Darkest Hour — Mike Schleibaum [guitar], John Henry [vocals], Aaron Deal [bass], Travis Orbin [drums], and Nico Santora [guitar] — have announced their tenth album Perpetual | Terminal, out February 23 via MNRK Heavy. Pre-order it here.

Electronic hardcore pioneers I See Stars have dropped their latest track "D4MAGE DONE" and the accompanying music video today (via Sumerian Records). When asked about the inspiration behind today's release, vocalist Devin Oliver shared:

“'D4MAGE DONE' delves deep into our modern addiction to technology, revealing the unsettling truth that our constant connection comes at a price. We drew a comparison between the dim cerulean blue lights and the act of staring at the sun, symbolizing how they blind us to the reality that, by feeding our addiction, someone is constantly watching..”

These once-in-a-headbanger-lifetime experiences will be offered to fans during the festival, which includes a tour to the infamous Fantoft Stave Churchwith Finn Håkon Rødland, the Black Metal Landmarks tour with Tore Bratseth, and Beyond the Black Metal Classics - a guided tour of Grieghallen with Pytten!

Black Metal Landmarks with Tore Bratseth

Metal legend and storyteller bar none, Tore Bratseth (Old Funeral, The Batallion, Bömbers) will take you on a trip to the outskirts of Bergen to show visitors a series of key locations in the Norwegian black metal lore. The trip includes stops at the Lysekloster ruins, where a series of legendary photo and video shoots have taken place, as well as the bunker where Euronymous was photographed for the “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” promo cycle. Another stop on the trek is the location of the original Os Rock Club where Mayhem rehearsed before the recording “DMDS” in Grieghallen, and also regular rehearsal place for Old Funeral and Amputation.

This trip will go by bus from outside of Grieghallen (Nygårdsgaten).

Beyond the Black Metal Classics - a guided tour of Grieghallen with Pytten

If you want to get an in-depth look at how some of the most renowned black metal classics from the 90s came together, look no further! Legendary producer Pytten has offered to take the Beyond the Gates audience on a guided tour of Grieghallen, where he recorded seminal albums such as Enslaved’s Vikingligr Veldi, Frost and Eld, the first two Emperor albums, In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, Gorgoroth’s Pentagram and Antichrist,Mayhem’s De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, and Immortal’s Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism, Battles in the North. Without a doubt, all of these records were instrumental in shaping what became the sound of the inimitable Norwegian Black Metal scene in the 90’s.

In an effort to make this an intimate experience for all attendees, there will only be a very limited number of tickets available for each group.

Fantoft Stave Church Tour with Finn Håkon Rødland

Any self-respecting black metal aficionado knows the dark story of the genre's origins, which includes the infamous Fantoft Stave Church arson that took place on June 6, 1992. Now rebuilt exactly as it was before the fire, fans can get a personal tour of this legendary site with black metal historian Finn Håkon Rødland.

HELFRÓ Release "Traðkandi Blómin í eigin Hjartagarði"

Icelandic black metal ensemble HELFRÓ are back with Tálgröf, an album that's inspired by the dark manifestations of the human mind. The sickness of humankind is explored through intense rhythmic passages, fusing the extremities of traditional death metal together with sombre, introspective lyrical convictions.

The album's third single, 'Traðkandi Blómin í eigin Hjartagarði' (meaning: "Trampling the Flowers in Your Own Heart's Garden"), absolutely crushes with destructive blast beats, chugging death metal riffs and tremolo-picked melodies. It's another Tálgröf track that explores the facets of humanity's worst killers. The numbing of one's emotions is placed at the forefront in its chilling lyricism.

"We explore the idea of consciously numbing yourself of any positive emotion in preparation of committing acts that go against the fundamental laws of humanism & your own very nature," says vocalist Ragnar Sverrisson. After seeing first-hand how deforestation threatens Costa Rica's ecosystem, two angry metalheads started their own non-profit organization.  Named after their joint passion for savage heavy metal and wildlife preservation, SAVAGE LANDS was founded in 2022 by Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and musician-turned-activist Sylvain Demercastel, who's a Costa Rica resident.

"Hearing the chainsaw on a daily basis, because of a recent real estate fever destroying Costa Rica's ecosystem, we thought it was time to start a new type of action", says Sylvain. "We are reaching out to this great active community of metalheads."

Today, SAVAGE LANDS are debuting their first single. "The Last Howl" features Andres Kisser (Sepultura) and John Tardy (Obituary). 100% of the song's royalties will go toward protecting threatened lands from deforestation.

Fittingly, "The Last Howl" is a howling tribute to the howler monkey, an endangered species in Costa Rica. Verbeuren hammers out thunderous fills and pinging cymbals, while Sylvain rains down heavy pangs of distortion.

"The Last Howl" packs added fury thanks to some special guests. Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser rips off not one, but two acrobatic solos, and swamp king John Tardy (Obituary) unleashes his inner primate with some ferocious, spit-flinging growls.            

"When Dirk first received the instrumental demo, he immediately had John Tardy in his mind for some vocals." Says Sylvain. "Making the link between the howler monkey's scream and the more melodic chorus of the song.

"Less than 24 hours after reaching out to John through a common friend, we received a YES from Tardy, and knew it was going to be the start of a great adventure."

Artists occasionally support causes through donations to organizations. With SAVAGE LANDS, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren teamed up with his guitar-wielding friend Sylvain Demercastel to create their own US 501(c)3 non-profit.

SAVAGE LANDS raises money for reforestation & the creation of sanctuaries free of human destruction. Using their own royalties, donations and other fundraising efforts, the organization builds nature sanctuaries, establishes green zones and other land preservation projects. They partner with other non-profits, scientists and forest engineers, as well as Decibel Magazine and Season of Mist.

BFD (Bob Frank Distribution), headed by the 2022 Billboard Indie Power Player Bob Frank, has been named the global representative of Royal Rainbow Productions, handling the curation and release of the iconic Judy Garland's musical catalog in a long-term deal, along with global distribution partner The Orchard.

"We are honored to represent this historic catalog of Judy Garland's audio and video masters. There is so much material to work with that has not been seen or heard in decades," adds Frank.

BFD will be releasing a host of titles in the future, kicking things off with Judy Garland Christmas, which is available here — and landed just in time for the festive holiday season. Meanwhile, Judy Garland: Classic Duets album arrives on November 24 and is available here on CD and limited, numbered vinyl. It features the audio recordings of songs performed on The Judy Garland Show from 1963 to 1964.

In 2024, more of Garland's legendary musical repertoire will be available — to the delight of her extended generations of fans.

In her lifetime, Garland never made an actual or proper "Christmas album." Her few holiday performances on film and radio, plus a special episode from her TV series, are all that we have. Judy Garland Christmas is taken from The Judy Garland Show, Episode #15, also known as "The Christmas Show," which was taped on December 6, 1963, and aired on December 22, 1963. It is said to be Judy's favorite episode from her 1963-1964 musical variety show on CBS and it's obvious as to why — her young children, Liza Minnelli, and Lorna and Joey Luft, served as her very special guests.

Several songs from Broadway shows ("Steam Heat" from Consider Yourself; "Where Is Love?" from Oliver!; and "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?") are also included, alongside traditional Christmas favorites. Guest Jack Jones sings a beautiful ballad titled "Lollipops and Roses."

Garland is at her most magical when she sings an emotionally charged version of "Little Drops of Rain," a song from the animated film Gay Purree, for which she provided the voice of the cat Mewsette.

Garland opens with "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" from her classic 1944 film Meet Me In St. Louis. She was asked to close the show with another of her signature songs "Over the Rainbow."

Judy Garland: Classic Duets is a collection of archival performances from the 1960's CBS television series. The program features the stars of the day including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Liza Minelli. and many more.

VUKOVI have today released a huge new single titled "MERCY KILL," with a brilliant video directed by vocalist Janine Shilstone and Zac Pinchin. The single was given its world premiere last night on the Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P Carter, and you can listen back to the whole show HERE.

"I wanted to depict the devotion towards addiction, whether it be towards a substance or another human," says Janine. "You know it's dangerous but find yourself submitting to the high again and again."

The band recently announced that it has signed to SharpTone Records and released the single + video '"CREEP HEAT," which had its first play on BBC Radio 1's Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe and was the band's first new music since the release of their album NULA in October last year.

Emerging indie pop-rock artist, Harley Luck, has released his EP, Cloud Cover, today. This musical journey is a poignant exploration of teenage romance and heartbreak, capturing the essence of coming of age and the universal experiences that resonate with most teenagers. Written and produced

by Harley Luck, Cloud Cover offers a unique blend of youthful energy within its lyrics and themes, artfully juxtaposed with mature instrumentation and production.

The title "Cloud Cover" comes from a metaphor that helped Harley Luck verbalize his past experiences. He states; “Growing up, I always heard people say “I wish I could lay in the clouds.” With such a soft appearance, they look like the perfect place to take a nap. While they look fluffy and comfortable, their looks are misleading and if you were to try to lay in the clouds, you would fall through. This idea of wanting something that you know you can’t have is a metaphor for my experiences. There was a girl that I liked and I knew I couldn’t be with because we were friends and I doubted that she felt the same way. Even though I understood the reality of it, I still became infatuated with the idea of it all. This EP is me verbalizing my emotions while going through this rollercoaster of coping with reality.”

The EP's tracklist is a carefully crafted narrative that mirrors the stages of infatuation and heartache. It kicks off with the energetic and infectious "Stay," representing the initial infatuation, expressing the desire for someone to stay in your life. "Alive" follows, delving deeper into the blossoming emotions, as real memories and connections begin to form, making the experience feel tangible and euphoric. The EP takes a pivotal turn with "Cut Off," reflecting the moment when ambiguity and mixed signals begin to cast doubts on the feasibility of being with the person you like. Craig Morgan and Trace Adkins to perform “That Ain’t Gonna Be Me” on “Fox & Friends” PLUS Morgan will sing the national anthem to kick off the 2023 Fox Nation Patriot Awards

Country music hit-maker, author and patriot Craig Morgan will be joined by fellow Grand Ole Opry member and multi-platinum entertainer Trace Adkins to perform “That Ain’t Gonna Be Me” on Fox & Friends this Thursday, November 16. The collaboration can be found on Morgan’s recently released Enlisted EP. That same evening, Morgan, who is currently an Army Reserve soldier, will have the honor of singing the national anthem as part of Fox Nation’s Patriot Awards, celebrating American patriotism by honoring everyday heroes across the country who have shown dedication to our nation and the values we hold dear.  The show airs live on Fox Nation starting at 7:00 pm central.

The televised performances come on the heels of Morgan and multi-genre hit-maker, CMA New Artist of the Year winner and Grammy Best New Artist nominee, Jelly Roll, performing their collaboration, “Almost Home,” on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” last week during a special Veterans Day show. Grand Ole Opry member Ashley McBryde announces additional dates to The Devil I Know Tour Presented by Ariat, kicking off the second leg Feb. 22 in Charleston, S.C. with 30 more dates scheduled across the U.S. through June 2024. SINGER DUSTIN BATES ANNOUNCES SECOND NOVEL A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE

Visionary cinematic rock collective STARSET thrilled fans today with the announcement of their U.S. spring tour — IMMERSION: THE FINAL CHAPTER. 

Known for their groundbreaking immersive live shows known as DEMONSTRATIONS, the tour is set to be STARSET's most impressive tour yet. Framed by a dystopian futuristic narrative, the theme of this latest set of DEMONSTRATIONS promises most-anticipated conclusions to narrative threads that have been woven into their multimedia experiences, through music, videos, and live performances. 

STARSET mastermind Dustin Bates also announced the release date for his second novel A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE that will launch on April 8, 2024 alongside the start of the tour. The book is the follow up to his debut The PROX Transmissions that released in 2016, with the popular Marvel graphic novel of the same name launching in 2017.
