Today, guitar virtuoso John 5 releases the new single “You Me And The Devil Makes Three” from his latest solo album Ghost, produced and mixed by Barry Pointer. The bluesy song, featuring extra percussion from Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, also gets the music video treatment with a visual piece following John 5 around the world on some of his latest solo tour dates. “You Me And The Devil Makes Three” follows previous anchor tracks, including “Hollywood Story” (about the first time John 5 picked up a guitar and the path that led him to the incredible career he has today) as well as "Fiend," "Deviant" and “Moon Glow.”

From Ashes to New are taking a firm stance against bullying as they drop their new radio single "Die For You" from their recently released album REFLECTIONS, out now via Better Noise Music. "Die For You" serves as the follow up to "Drag Me," the band's first-ever No. 1 at rock radio. It was a career high moment.

Also, "Die For You” has amassed over 11M streams globally and is outpacing many songs currently in top 10 at Active Rock chart.

From Ashes to New then experienced yet another moment — this one viral — that has demonstrated the depth of their connection with their fans. The band posted a video of one of their fans singing "Die For You" at a show, and noticed bullying comments being made towards the fan and immediately leapt to her defense. Brandyberry doubled down and addressed this behavior from the stage, reinforcing the fact that the band will not tolerate such antics. "All I could see was a beautiful soul having a beautiful moment," says Brandyberry. “The first track off the album is a high-power energy piece, with a few elements of prog trickery but retaining the accessible chorus block, which was always a signature of ASIA’s music from the very beginning. Harry and I started working on this as one of the early ideas that seemed to come together very organically. Virgil’s dynamic and innovative drum parts drive the piece along, while John’s soaring guitars keep the momentum. Harry’s vocals are commanding, and my keyboard parts hold the wall of sound together. More than four decades after redefining the sound of melodic progressive rock, ASIA returns in 2026 with 'Indigo' - a studio album that bridges past, present, and future with remarkable grace and authenticity.

Now featuring Geoffrey Downes alongside an inspired new lineup - Virgil Donati, John Mitchell, and Harry Whitley - ASIA steps confidently into a new era while honoring the legacy that made them one of the most iconic supergroups of all time.

Geoff Downes described the genesis of the album:

“The initial writing period began in 2015, following the release of our previous album 'Gravitas' in 2014. John Wetton and I started putting our ideas together, aiming to get into the studio once more. It was with great sadness that John became seriously ill. During this time, we had put on hold our plans, and sadly, John passed away before we could continue and complete it. So, it was always in my mind that at some point it would be a shame not to finish off some of these songs and finally release them as part of an ASIA album.

“In 2023, when the tribute concert for John took place, I was so encouraged by the response to ASIA’s music that I viewed this as the perfect opportunity to re-establish not only the band, but also to reunite with our long-time supportive label, Frontiers, paving the way for us to get back in the studio”, he continued.

Downes also added:

“So, ASIA was back in the room, so to speak, and we were very fortunate to have recruited Virgil Donati and John Mitchell, both of whom had worked extensively with John before, as well as our new vocalist and bassist, Harry Whitley. The tours followed to great success throughout 2024 and 2025, and finally, we sat down towards the end of last year to record the album. Working with these fine musicians was a great privilege and the music just seemed to flow”.

“The album was really a joy to make. I forged a close writing relationship with Harry, and I felt how great it was to be working with someone who had very similar musical influences and taste once again, just as I did with John. I feel that this is one of our best albums to date. The songs are deep in musicality, with a powerful and original performance, dynamics and strong lyrical undertones – it’s an album that hopefully our fans will widely appreciate and support our cause to put ASIA back on the map. Enjoy the ride!” he concluded.

Recorded throughout 2025 and produced by Downes and the band, with mixing and mastering handled by John Mitchell, 'Indigo' captures the unmistakable spirit of ASIA while injecting it with renewed vitality and purpose.

At the heart of the album lies an emotional connection to the band’s history. 'Indigo' includes some of the final compositions written by the late John Wetton - “Tattoo Indigo (Parts 2 & 3)” and “Chesapeake Bay”- imbuing the record with a profound sense of continuity and tribute. The presence of Wetton is further felt through the extraordinary vocal performance of Harry Whitley, whose tone and phrasing evoke a striking and deeply moving resemblance to the band’s original voice.

Melancholic aggression and intensity await in the new single release, "When The Sun Comes Out At Night" featuring Johan Lindstrand (THE CROWN). With a line-up formed of three previous members of AMON AMARTH, and completed with Clint Williams, FIMBUL WINTER embarks on greater exploration and development of melodic death metal. This latest endeavor follows the band's previous single "Crowned In Ash" and the 2025 debut EP What Once Was.

"When The Sun Comes Out At Night" descends into a thunderous, high-speed onslaught driven by incessant riffs and untamable percussion. Fiercely melodic, entwining guitars traverse alongside the anguish-fueled harsh vocal performance from Clint Williams and guest vocalist Johan Lindstrand (THE CROWN). The shadowy atmosphere, brutal in nature, obtains a heroic, victorious quality as it reaches its end.

Lyrically, "When The Sun Comes Out At Night" explores the loss of stability experienced upon seeing reality too clearly. This awakening of truth, of knowing, becomes disorientating as it dismantles what was once certain.

"This track is my way of processing a truly disgusting situation I found myself in," shares Katerina, pulling back the curtain. "Having Johnny on it felt less like a traditional feature and more like a confrontation — a stand-off between two voices. That dynamic gave the song an intensity it wouldn’t have had otherwise, making it one of the most powerful tracks we've created."

Ciardullo concurs, "Working on this song with Kat was an absolute riot. It's not every day you get to work on a song with someone you went to high school with 10+ years down the road. From the moment I heard the demo, I was excited to work on it and see where we could take it and I'm extremely proud of what it's turned into."

Producer Jordan Chase also offers a deeper insight, saying, "'Black on White' was a very late addition to the songs we had already written, but it was an absolute blast to create. We wanted to keep Kat's signature sound, while also making a home for Johnny’s vocal style. It came together incredibly fast —and thankfully so— because Kat and I only had four hours to finish the final touches on the music and track all of her vocals. Sometimes, having a tight deadline can create real magic. Johnny's and Kat's vocals complement each other extremely well, and Johnny did an amazing job adding new ideas that we hadn’t even considered while demoing the song. The power of a crossover is definitely real on this one."

The trailblazers known as The Veldt are back with their new single 'Morning, June and Yesterday', offering a sneak peek of their 'Spanikopita' EP. Rooted in the traditions that shaped the genre yet looking beyond them, "Morning June and Yesterday" embodies the spirit of dream pop and shoegaze as both reflection and forward motion—a journey further into the noise, the beauty and the unknown. The accompanying video is an homage to Vaughan Oliver, the legendary graphic designer whose visual style defined the aesthetic of the 4AD record label.

Here, The Veldt's guitars wander through a contextual vortex of sound, tracing invisible paths between morning light and fading memories. They ebb and flow like currents carrying pieces of yesterday into the present, surrounding the listener in a haze of longing and wonder. The song asks not where we have been, but whether we can travel further—beyond memory, beyond certainty, and into whatever waits on the horizon... One of the most notable first-wave shoegaze bands, formed in North Carolina in the 1980s by identical twins Daniel Chavis (vocals, guitar) and Danny Chavis (guitar), The Veldt have long occupied a distinctive space where shoegaze textures intersect with soul, gospel, and experimental rock. Drawing inspiration from artists as varied as Prince, Sun Ra and Pink Floyd, the band developed an approach that favors atmosphere, groove, and emotional nuance over rigid genre boundaries.

After relocating to New York City and expanding their lineup with bassist and programmer Hayato Nakao, the group deepened its sonic identity, incorporating layered production and electronic elements while maintaining a strong melodic core. Consistently prioritizing depth and mood, their recordings reward close listening and their live performances emphasize immersion.

Released as a tour-exclusive CD, 'Spanakopita' features new tracks and experimental demos that The Veldt curated especially for US and Canadian tour dates they just completed with post-punk legends The Chameleons, underscoring The Veldt'd enduring relevance, continued artistic momentum and expanding horizons.

The EP includes mixes by Carlos Bess, engineer for the Wu-Tang Clan production circle, along with Will Brooks (Dälek) and Jason Furlow (aka Nosaj) of New Kingdom, also known for his new project Wave Generators and his work with Morcheeba. Their involvement helped shape the project’s evolving fusion of post-punk atmosphere and DJ-culture experimentation—an approach developed through ongoing collaboration over the years working as a production team Illuminutty (a.k.a. Danny Chavis adds, "Morning, June and Yesterday' dictates the art of Drone and it’s never ending quest for the artistic repetition of soundscapes in texture and visual sound patterns and form, cognitive dissonance of sound".

The EP's lead track 'Black Girl', released with a video by Rob Weiss and James Eakins, reinterprets themes from the 1972 film 'Black Girl', reflecting the determination of a young dancer striving toward excellence, despite the social limitations surrounding her. Inspired by that spirit of persistence and vision, the track channels a modern, dream-pop-inflected atmosphere reminiscent of A.R. Kane, while moving beyond strict genre labels like shoegaze to incorporate broader influences and sonic elements.

"Many of the recordings on 'Spanakopita' point toward the direction of our next body of work. Alongside newly created material, the release also draws from a deep archive of previously unreleased recordings from past years - part of a larger collection scheduled for release this September on Little Cloud Records and 5BC Records - as we continue expanding the sound shaped through these collaborations," says Daniel Chavis.

The Veldt's music career has been rich, gradually building a solid legacy. Pitchfork included The Veldt's album 'Afrodisiac', produced by the legendary Ray Shulman (The Sundays, Bjork, The Sugarcubes) in the top 50 shoegaze albums ever released, while Stereogum included ‘Until You’re Forever’ in the top 31 shoegaze tracks. Their recent'Illuminated 1989' album, produced by Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie, was also widely acclaimed with support on six continents.

Hot on the trail of her 'Real Life Evolution' album, released early this month by iconic NYC artist Joan As Police Woman via UK independent Reveal Records., she presents an intimate performance of the title track - the 'Real Life (Real Life Anniversary Sessions)'. This is the latest offering from this video series, recorded by Adam Sachs at The Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn and filmed by Ehud Lazin. Also as part of the 20th year anniversary of her debut album 'Real Life', she earlier shared stripped-down trio-format versions of 'Eternal Flame', 'Flushed Chest', 'The Ride','Anyone' and 'I Defy'.

Joan Wasser, known as Joan As Police Woman since 2004, is a critically acclaimed musician and producer, and a sought-after collaborator, dubbed “the coolest woman in pop” (The Times) and “one of the 21st century’s best musicians” (The Economist). As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music defies easy categorization, crafting her own sound that blends various genres.

Joan confesses, “I wrote this song to romance a man. We met once for 3 minutes and I had decided he was The One. Bear in mind, this is ages ago. Conveniently, we lived 6000 miles apart. We were pen pals. It felt like high romance. He was brilliant actually - perhaps too smart. He was intractable and of course that drove me mad. The song describes the walk to the post office with the love letter - in this case, the cassette recording - and imagines the moment it lands in his hands. I brazenly put his name in the song. Unsurprisingly it didn’t work out between us. But the song did."

Unveiled exactly 20 years from her debut's release, Joan As Police Woman has reimagined her 'Real Life' album with numerous guests. Through countless performances, these renditions are brought to life by the brilliance of the players who helped define their sound. The result is ten stunning tracks with varied flavours and collaborators.

“People ask me all the time: “Do you ever get tired of playing your old songs?” The answer is an unequivocal no. And if I ever did, I’d reinvent them until the joy came back — not as an act of revision, but of rediscovery. Songs live beyond their creators. Deathcore Act SARCOMA Present New Explosive Single "En Llamas"

"En Llamas", which translates to "on fire, or in flames" is an explosion of aggression. The latest single to land from Ecuador's extreme metal act SARCOMA, it is a brutal and ferocious offering designed for the mosh pit. "En Llamas" arrives ahead of SARCOMA's forthcoming album that is set to release later in 2026.

SARCOMA comment on "En Llamas":
"From its inception, when there were just a couple of riffs, we immediately got the feeling that this one was meant to be about violence and perfect for frantic moshpits. Lyrics refer to exhaustion, laceration and the burning sensation of a deadly circle pit.

It's all about avoiding being crushed by this deadly vortex while the band keeps feeding it with a fiery beat.

The same overlaying theme of proving oneself is also subtly present, this time in the live show scenario."

Musically, "En Llamas" is a hybrid of Latin and extreme metal styles. The track is powered by beats drawing from Latin and modern death metal, with blackened death metal riffs and a Latin / metallic hardcore chorus. Over the course of the song's arrangement, there is a further sonic shift and the track ends with a progressive breakdown and an apocalyptic mood.

Obliterating rhythms establish the untamable power of "En Llamas" in the first moments of the track. Eerie dissonance returns throughout the track's arrangement enhancing a dark tension and sense of unease. Contrasting intense speed with a slow and unrelenting pace, "En Llamas" demonstrates SARCOMA's extreme nature over multiple forms.

Hidden ahead of the first chorus is the subtle audio sample, “welcome to hell”. A brief line of dialogue from Pinhead to one of his victims, it was taken from one of the Hellraiser movies. This continues SARCOMA's theme of utilizing audio samples to enhance the themes of their music.

"En Llamas" was produced by Juan Pablo Flores and recorded at Valley of the Death recording studio. The single was mixed and mastered by Juan Pablo Rivas.

About SARCOMA:
SARCOMA is the first Spanish-language deathcore band in the world. Formed in Quito, Ecuador, in 2006, the quartet launched their debut EP Silenciosa Tortura independently that same year. 2016 brought a hiatus until seven years later, in 2023, original members Santiago Romero and Juan Pablo Flores returned to write new music, now joined by Andrés Jaramo (drums) and Andrés Éguez (bass).

During SARCOMA's first incarnation, following the first EP, the band released the debut, self-titled full-length album in 2008 with the Esclavitud del Siglo XXI EP arriving in 2013. The band embarked on a heavy national and international touring schedule in neighboring countries.

SARCOMA's unmistakable style, technical precision, and impressive live performances led them to be considered, by the media and the public alike, as the undisputed "fathers of deathcore" in South America. In early-mid noughties, the band's unique mix of hardcore and death metal elements was something unheard of in the country at the time.

The band's sound draws influence from the likes of DECAPITATED, DYING FETUS, KNOCKED LOOSE, SEPULTURA, DESPISED ICON, GOJIRA, with the addition of progressive elements and a thematic focus on their life experiences and environment of Latin America.

2023 saw the band return with renewed vigor and intent unleashing the EP Mesak, the live releases Al Rojo Vivo and En Vivo En Quito in 2024, and "Divino Poder" single in 2025, all via Valley of the Death. SARCOMA wasted no time returning to the live stage in 2023 venturing on the Mesak Ecuador National Tour, along with performances at Mechanimal Fest and Quitofest.

Singer Maria Lessing weighs in, saying the song was a watershed moment for her, as she was able to capture the feeling of deep emotional satisfaction that comes from the bond between sisters and how the role of being a big sister has impacted her.

She says, "This is probably the most important song I have ever written. It was extremely hard for me to write and I have failed to write a good song about this very important topic over and over again these past years. To sum it up: This song is about true love and how it feels. It can be very hard to recognize true love, but I personally found it in the role of being a big sister. Being someone who protects, cares, and always finds the time and patience to be there.

"I tried, and still try, my best to keep my younger sister from the pain that I had to go through. Even though we already went through a lot of pain together in our lifes, but it made our bond only stronger. I feel like no one will ever truly understand you like a close sibling does."

"This one started with a request by [drummer] Johannes [Früchtenicht] when he said he wanted a certain kind of ballad," further explains guitarist Manuel Kohlert. "Challenge accepted. The instrumental was actually very easy to write and came naturally. Compared to the rest of the album this track is by far the softest, yet it builds up to a big, still heavy chorus followed by a dreamy acoustic bridge. All in all, this is our rock ballad."

Future Palace will spend the bulk of 2026 touring, with festival appearances and a fall tour on deck. All dates are below, including a return to the U.S. to appear at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville in September.

DED Release Deluxe Edition of "RESENT" Today + Share "Denouncer"

RESENT: Deluxe Edition will feature unreleased tracks and demos, adding 11 new tracks to the original 12-track album and offering fans a deeper look into the creative sessions that ultimately shaped RESENT.

The RESENT Deluxe edition expands on the band's third studio album with five additional songs, including the previously released single "Weapon" and the aforementioned "DENOUNCER." It also features three tracks that were strong contenders for the original album but ultimately didn't make the final tracklist, along with six demos ranging from raw early ideas to near-finished recordings.

"We thought it would be cool to put everything out there and give people a look behind the curtain," says frontman Joe Cotela. "These songs and demos were all part of the creative process behind RESENT, and we wanted fans to hear the full picture of what we were working on during that era."

Speaking about "DENOUNCER," Cotela explains, "I've always loved this song. I wanted it on the record, but I think it ended up feeling a little left-of-center compared to the rest of the album. It's not necessarily a strange song, but it has a different energy and perspective that made it stand apart from the other tracks. Looking back, that may be exactly what makes it interesting.

"At its core, the song is about finding your own spiritual power and refusing to hand that power over to people who want to use fear, guilt, or authority to control others. A lot of the inspiration came from seeing evangelists, institutions, politicians, and religious figures use faith as a tool for influence rather than a path to connection. The song isn't about attacking pure religion or telling people what to believe. It's about questioning anyone who claims to speak on behalf of something greater or weaponizing that for gain while using that position to manipulate others.

"For me, spirituality, faith, love, energy, life, death, the essence of being alive—those are deeply personal experiences. No other human being can define my relationship with the universe, with the creator, or with whatever connects us all. I believe people should be encouraged to look deep within themselves, ask questions, and find their own path rather than externally and faithfully following someone else's version of truth. Ultimately, 'DENOUNCER' is a reminder that we should question everything we think we know—not from a place of cynicism, but from a place of curiosity, growth, and personal freedom. Well, maybe a little cynicism."

Overall, the deluxe is a "must-listen" for fans.

he song UNITED STATES was recorded 5 years ago when Rick Derringer asked me to put drums on it. It sat for 5 years.Then last week I asked his wife Jenda to send me the song to listen to. I remember really liking the song. After hearing it I gave it to Pat Regan to remaster.

Then I asked Dom Esposito if he can put a video together quick to get it out for our country’s 250th anniversary celebration. So we are celebrating Rick Derringer who passed away last year also.

Jenda and I decided to make a video together to celebrate Rick and the 250 years of our country.

Carmine Appice shared his thoughts on on the song and video “Back Door Man” — “Back Door Man” is an old blues classic. This version originally appeared on Howlin’ Wolf’s The Howlin’ Wolf Album (often referred to as his “Electric Album”).

This time, I wanted to make a real blues album for Temple of Blues 2. Temple of Blues 1was made up entirely of Cactus songs. I’ve always loved the Howlin’ Wolf album, which also gave Cactus our biggest song, “Evil.” We ended up recording seven songs from that album, and I always thought “Back Door Man” was one of the strongest tracks.

Today, Norwegian progressive trailblazers Enslaved are honoured to reveal 'Spirit Helper', a unique and deeply powerful collaboration with Kevin Kicking Woman, an Elder of the Blackfeet Nation.

'Spirit Helper' has arisen partly from a relationship with Fire In The Mountains, which takes place each year within the Blackfeet Nation, Montana. Enslaved will be returning to the festival later this month to perform. Ivar Bjørnson from Enslaved and Kevin Kicking Woman explain the concept behind 'Spirit Helper' and the lengthy process behind it.

The 'Spirit Helper' artwork was created by Nicholas Rink, who explains the meaning and symbolism behind it:

"I see the light blue wave at the bottom as a representation of the ocean between us, but also the background vibration of existence connecting us all and giving birth to existence, life, and of course the song itself.

The red line I imagine connecting us across the globe, representing our shared humanity and brother/sisterhood - the living breathing life in us all. The yellow spiral represents the song moving amongst all of these things.

The "Stars" were part of Ivar's original conception and I see them come to represent the power and source of the song. The black circle with the lightning bolt represents Kevin's singing and the spiritual power it carries, and the rainbow of triangles is representative of the musicians.

I wanted to include them symbolically and thought the traditional "triangle man" was a cool way. It took me a bit to decide how I wanted to use it but eventually it came to me to pay homage to Dark side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and included the rainbow colors in a unique way.

All of this is on an old map of Norway that my grandma had saved out of an old National Geographic magazine. I like using maps because LAND is so important in shaping us, our humanity, and how we express ourselves."
