THE VICE Release Music Video for "Waltz de Anima"; New 3-track EP "The Red Tape Sessions" out now via Noble Demon!

Stockholm-based dark metal four-piece THE VICE have unveiled the music video for "Waltz de Anima", the epic closing track from their newly released 3-track EP "The Red Tape Sessions". The EP is available now via Noble Demon

About the track, the band comments: "Waltz de Anima", in my opinion is definitely our most 'epic' song to date. The chorus was the first segment written and it immediately felt like one of the 'big choruses' we'd wanted to write for a long time, but it just hadn't come to us yet. But from the first demo-recording of the song we knew that this was one for the books. It has a very majestic, regal tone to it which we kept close in mind when writing the rest of the song. And with the strange, smoke-drenched, early 1900's jazz-club-vibe in the intro and the interlude reminiscing of parties of the bourgeoisie in huge ballrooms centuries ago, or some twisted night at the Royal Opera or Ballet even, I think we did quite well in highlighting that mood throughout the entire song."

Listen to "The Red Tape Sessions" in full HERE

From the very beginning, THE VICE has followed their own crooked path, driven by a desire to carve out a place of their own within the scene.

And that grimy, wildhearted, metal/rock/pop fusion, with one foot firmly planted in the windswept, frozen North and the other cemented to the concrete of the streets, sure sounds like nothing else. Dark, blackened metal, ferocious rock 'n' roll, posh punk and harsh, hardcore attitude; mixed with a huge dose of the cultural colossi of the 90's such as Guns & Roses, Pantera, Prince, Grunge, Oasis, Neometal, Fight Club, The Matrix and Terminator 2 to name a few. All of that - and everything in between - comes close to describing the very essence of THE VICE.

Three full-length albums and numerous EPs into their career, the band stands as a confident, adrenaline-pumping unit - a bunch of loose cannons at the starting blocks, ready to commence the next chapter in THE VICE saga.

"The Red Tape Sessions" - a striking collection that builds upon the foundations of March’s "A Great Unrest" (Noble Demon), elevating both the production and songwriting while drenching it all in a strange, electrifying neon glow - is out now and available for purchase HERE.

The Virgos Sign with Season of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to welcome The Virgos!

Following a decade of setting the standard for hardcore and metal as a member of Bad Seed, Harm's Way and Nails, vocalist and guitarist Andy Saba banded together with kindred spirits Danni Crockett and Eli Gerrity over an addiction to all things heavy. Channeling thick Sabbathian rhythms, Manowar's majesty and the hypnotic ass-shaking of Queens of the Stone Age, the Wilkes-Barre power trio have declared a new age for true heavy metal.

"We decided it was time to let the Apocalyptically loud horses of metal run free again, and shine a light on every color of the Dark Rainbow of Metal", Saba says.

This year, The Virgos released their third and finest full-length. "Lord Have Mercy is a triumph in multiple heavy musical styles", writes Swim to the Sound. "Fans of everything from melodic hardcore to goth rock to stoner metal will be able to find something to love here". While familiar to lovers of Heaven and HellInto Glory Ride, Type O Negative and Lucio Fulci, the album's full-throttled blast of psychedelic pyrotechnics is unlike anything you've heard before or since.

"The theme of Lord Have Mercy is that we missed out on the future", explains Saba. "Utopia isn't happening. We're going backwards now. Superstition, devilry, war, plagues, revolution...it's the Dark Ages again. So let's get with the times. Medieval times call for Medieval responses. If you want to understand the headspace I was in while writing this album, watch Fulci's 1983 movie Conquest several dozen times. It's all in there".

Watch the video for "Yes", the heavy, hard and horny single from Lord Have Mercy below.

The Virgos entire discography is now available on digital streaming platforms through Season of Mist.

Kreator Release Video for Scorching New Single "Satanic Anarchy"

Metal titans KREATOR have unleashed "Satanic Anarchy," the brand new single from their highly anticipated sixteenth full-length, Krushers Of The World, which will be out on January 16 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The song bears all the hallmarks of KREATOR's best material of the last few decades — fast-paced thrash riffs, a catchy, anthemic chorus, and a masterful guitar solo — all wrapped into three-and-a-half minutes.

After paying homage to Dario Argento's cult horror classic Suspiria with their last single "Tränenpalast" and its corresponding video, KREATOR further prove their affinity for the horror genre by referencing another classic movie in the music video for "Satanic Anarchy." Released 10 years after Suspiria, Clive Barker's Hellraiser (1987) is known for being just as influential and groundbreaking for modern horror by combining intense psychological thrills with graphic gore.

Mille Petrozza comments, "Hordes! I hope you'll like our brand new video for the song 'SATANIC ANARCHY' off our new album KRUSHERS OF THE WORLD. The lyrics speak about a divine revolt of the mind: Breaking the spell of obedience, standing together against tyranny, and igniting change where fear once ruled. The narrative part of the video takes us back to the cinematic masterpiece Hellraiser by the great Clive Barker, This isn't a remake or a sequel — it's an echo. A tribute to the raw imagination of '80s horror, where pleasure, pain, and chaos shared the same key. Enjoy!"

LIONS AT THE GATE Ignite a New Era With “Burn The Candle” and Bold Label Debut

Metal powerhouse LIONS AT THE GATE proudly announce the release of their explosive new single, “Burn The Candle,” which arrives alongside a visually striking music video directed by Vicente Cordero. This marks the band’s first official unveiling since signing with Reigning Phoenix Music. The track delivers a sharpened edge, renewed urgency, and a bold declaration of what fans can expect from the band’s next era, set to unfold in 2026.

🎧 Stream “Burn The Candle” now: https://latg.rpm.link/burnthecandlePR

With its searing riffs, thunderous rhythm section, and impassioned vocal performance, “Burn The Candle” stands as a rallying cry for unity amid division, a theme at the heart of the band’s creative vision.

Frontman Cristian Machado shares powerful insight into the song’s meaning:

“Burn The Candle is a song about the divide being driven into our societies. Hatred is being normalized right in front of our eyes. No one is immune to it, we are being fed constant direction to build fortresses around our hearts because it’s a war out there, and so lead your ego into battle. This song yells out to people, divided we are like sheep waiting to be led to a slaughter. So proudly we wave the triple-edged sword driven into the side of humanity: greed, pride, lust. I know eventually we open our eyes, but for how much longer will we burn the candle at both ends.”

Of the signing, Reigning Phoenix Music co-founder Gerardo Martinez states: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Lions at the Gate to the roster. With their deep-rooted legacy, fearless sound and bold vision, they embody exactly the kind of creative force we’re proud to support. Their debut album showed what happens when raw emotion meets uncompromising craftsmanship and we could not be more excited to help amplify what’s coming next."

The partnership with Reigning Phoenix Music marks a milestone moment for LIONS AT THE GATE, who enter this new phase with sharpened purpose and an unrelenting creative fire. “Burn The Candle” serves as the first spark of what is to come as the band builds toward an ambitious release cycle in 2026.

Adding fuel to the momentum, LIONS AT THE GATE are currently on tour with the legendary DEATH ANGEL, bringing their ferocious live energy to stages across the country and giving fans an early taste of their revitalized sound.

RAIBARD Unveils New Single “Still Your Name,” a Haunting Meditation on Reincarnation and Lost Memory

Progressive rock group RAIBARD announces the release of their new single “Still Your Name,” an evocative exploration of reincarnation, fragmented memory, and the quiet ache of something lost but not forgotten. The song centers on the experience of feeling a connection to a life once lived, even when the details have faded beyond reach.

“Still Your Name” asks a striking question: What if you cannot remember the specifics, but you remember the feeling? The lyrics speak from the edge of recollection, lingering in the emotional space where a previous life seems close enough to touch, yet impossible to name. Lines such as “I miss your face, are you still there somewhere?” and “Where are you now? I’ve missed me somehow”capture the sense of searching for someone, or even an earlier self, that exists only in memory’s periphery.

Musically, the track blends melancholy with a sense of mystery. Guest keyboardist Jeff Kolter adds atmospheric textures that shimmer through the arrangement, while a dual tracked ESP guitar routed through a twenty year old Soldano amplifier creates a layered harmonic richness. The production allows the song to feel at once intimate and expansive, mirroring the emotional themes at its core.

Arriving on March 6th, RAIBARD’s new album Postscript builds on the band’s progressive foundations with a wide range of stylistic influences. Despite this variety, the album remains cohesive. Each track shares a common musical DNA, rooted in melodically centered writing in which implied harmonies elevate even simple progressions and heighten their emotional impact.

The rhythmic identity of Postscript also reflects RAIBARD’s established sound. Melodies and harmonies routinely anticipate the downbeat, giving drummer Phil MacKay a dynamic canvas for inventive performance. On bass, Greg Dellaria provides a central layer of connective energy. His lines bridge harmonic, rhythmic, and melodic roles with subtle but unmistakable mastery.

Postscript was recorded across three locations. MacKay and Dellaria contributed their parts remotely, sending material to Daniel for editing, mixing, and mastering. Daniel’s own performances were captured in either his living room or an isolation booth, creating a blend of immediacy and precision that underscores the album’s emotional and musical depth.

Daniel Gil – Guitar and vocals
Greg Dellaria – Bass
Phil MacKay – Drums and percussion

Varials Announce "Where The Light Leaves" Out 2/27 + Band Shares Video for Title Track

Philadelphia's VARIALS — Skyler Conder, vocals; Shane Lyons, guitar; Mike Foley, bass; Sean Rauchut, drums — re-entered the chat and in a metallically massive way in September. The band shared the video "I'll Find the Dark," its first new track since 2022. It's an impenetrable and intimidating wall of sound. Watch the video below. It was also the first track to feature formidable new frontman Conder.

Varials up the ante yet again by announcing their new album WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES. It arrives February 27 via Fearless Records. Pre-order it here.

The band has also shared the video for the title track, which is another hulking slab of metal.

Watch it below:

"'Where The Light Leaves' is the key introduction to the overall idea of the album itself," says Conder. "Through many emotions in my life, I found myself always feeling trapped within my mind, in a sense of purgatory and as if my mental state was a nightmare. The video and song are meant to elaborate, lyrically and visually, what it feels like being stuck there and unable to leave — eventually just accepting it and learning to live with it."

There's a distinct irony to "Where The Light Leaves." It sounds like a live demolition. The earth-shaking percussion and blast beats are like slabs of concrete, tumbling from the sky, while Conder spits violent verses that could've erupted from the center of the earth. It's plate-shifting collision of riffs and roars. Ultimately, what comes down goes right back up — the track is just another instance of Varials erecting a wall of metallic chaos with each new song.

Varials deliver hardcore ferocity, monstrous breakdowns, and nu-metal groove with an adventurous atmosphere and unapologetic purpose. Born in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, Varials embody East Coast attitude and determination, pouring every ounce of struggle into their songs. Their fourth album, Where the Light Leaves, arrives with explosive energy and focus. Varials first established their place in the modern heavy landscape with Pain Again (2017) and In Darkness (2019). Tracks like "Romance," "Empire of Dirt," and "Anything to Numb" became anthems, blending metalcore strength with raw honesty that deeply resonated with audiences. Scars for You to Remember (2022) expanded that vision, further cementing their reputation as one of the most emotionally intense acts of the modern era. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Dayseeker, The Plot In You), Where the Light Leaves signifies a new chapter. An often chaotic and experimental process—creating dozens of demos—resulted in 13 songs that capture Varials at their most powerful and creatively ambitious. The performances are deliberately raw, embracing imperfections to forge an immediate, human connection. Guttural heaviness paired with new melodic textures delivers a sound that is both punishing and expansive. As demonstrated on tours with Knocked Loose, Wage War, and Kublai Khan TX, among others, Varials are a fierce and formidable live band, and that energy is reflected in Where The Light Leaves.

Nate Vickers Jumps Headfirst On Brand New EP & Video For Title Track "Don't Look Down"!

Alt rock's breakout act to watch, Nate Vickers, ushers in a new chapter with his brand new EP, "Don't Look Down", out mow via Oxide Records. Embracing a bolder, rock edge, today's release is led by the anthemic title track, "Don't Look Down", and it's brand new music video, watch below.

Channeling the rush and collapse of a love that once felt live-saving, "Don't Look Down" captures the freefall of the aftermath. Anchored by a towering chorus, the EP as whole leans into Nate's heavier rock instincts while still leaving space for his vulnerable, confessional moments at the core of his writing.

To further celebrate the release, Nate Vickers is bringing "Don't Look Down" and the rest of his acclaimed discography to the stage for an intimate run in his home state of Texas. These debut headline dates mark a full circle moment for the Houston-based artist, serving as his first shows since joining Jared Leto and Thirty Seconds To Mars on stage for a one-time performance of "The Kill", a moment sparked by his viral cover. Tickets are available HERE.

Digging into the meaning of "Don't Look Down," Nate Vickers reflects:

"This song comes from the moment you realize love isn't saving you anymore-it's slowly killing you. It's about holding on to someone who keeps letting you fall, and burying the pain until you can't hide it anymore."

Speaking on today's EP release and finally taking these songs on the road, Nate continues:

"‘Don’t Look Down’ is my way of ending the year strong, while also closing this chapter of my career. I’m extremely excited for my debut headlining shows and all the new, heavier music I’ll be dropping in 2026."

With his smash hit "A Little Too Late" cementing Nate Vickers as a breakout voice and his previous single "Parasite" pushing his sound into a darker, more visceral territory, latest singles "Falling Away From Heaven" and "Deja Vu" build on that rising momentum. Seeing Vickersblending gritty guitars with pain and the pursuit of healing, his latest EP, "Don't Look Down" captures an artist unafraid to bare his scars while reaching for something greater.

Inspired by icons such as Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, and Bad Omens, Nate Vickers has crafted a sound that is unmistakably his own, drawing more than 1.5 million followers to his TikTok and 540K to his Instagram. Between viral, late-night covers and playlist-dominating originals, Vickers has also earned his place as a standout favorite on Pandora and Sirius XM's Octane. What began as a spark has now become an alt-rock wildfire.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Nate Vickers news coming soon.

Paleface Swiss Drop Emotionally Devastating New Single and Music Video "Everything Is Fine"

Switzerland’s heaviest export Paleface Swiss release new track Everything Is Fine today, the third and final single from their upcoming The Wilted EP, out January 2, 2026. The single differs greatly from the previously released songs from the EP so far and further displays the raw, emotional vulnerability the band are completely unafraid of tackling head on. It lands alongside one of the most emotionally charged and visually ambitious videos the band has released to date that depicts the story of two lovers grappling with heartbreakingly unfair circumstances that neither can change. Watch the official music video below and stream the new track.

Following previously released singles, Instrument of War and Let Me Sleep, this final track marks the last threshold before The Wilted EP’s full reveal. It continues the record’s core narrative: burnout, fragility, and the quiet devastation that follows explosive success. Having sold more than 35,000 tickets across the U.S. in 2025 and completed a sold-out rund through the UK, Europe and Australia, Paleface Swiss now steer into the emotional reckoning of what comes next.

“Everything Is Fine tells the story of two lovers caught in situations they cannot change,” says frontman Marc “Zelli” Zellweger. “They face unfair trials that wound them, yet they try to accept what neither wants to accept. In trying to numb the pain, it only cuts deeper because they keep asking why love fails even when they’ve done everything right.”

Musically, the track balances the band’s signature heaviness with stark melancholy. It’s one of the most cinematic and emotionally raw moments of the band's career to date. Directed by longtime collaborator Kriss Jakob, the video explores themes of love, death, and disassociation with stark theatricality. Zelli also took on co-editing duties for the first time, deepening the creative intimacy and ensuring every frame beautifully compliments the weight and impact of the track's theme.

The Wilted EP was born in the aftermath of relentless momentum. Written across months of mostly-sold-out touring through Europe, the U.S., and Australia, it traces the burnout, emotional collapse, and uneasy regrowth that comes in the wake of releasing a life-alteringly successful album and trying to learn how to navigate the aftermath. If Cursed documented the breaking point, The Wilted EP lingers in what comes after. The hollow quiet, the spiraling mind, the fragile attempts to maintain forward motion and continue to rise.

Its visual identity continues the band’s symbolic language of flowers: blooms that were once vivid when featured on the Cursed album artwork, are now curled and brittle. An unflinching depiction of decay and disintegration.

Known for their incomparable live performances and fearless approach to intense and vulnerable topics, Paleface Swiss has built a reputation as one of the most vital, unfiltered, and rapidly rising forces in the world of modern metal today. With their latest full-length album, Cursed, Paleface Swiss took listeners into their darkest, most intricate, and artistically diverse chapter yet, combining their trademark Nu-Core heaviness with raw vulnerability, a rare and special combination for a band within their genre. The album charted at #17 globally on Spotify, #3 in the U.S., and #1 in the UK, followed by an extended version - Cursed: The Complete Edition.

The album's success kicked off a year of career-defining momentum for Paleface Swiss that included back-to-back sellout tours across Europe & the UK, North America, multiple festival performances and their first ever tour of Australia. Refusing to rest on their laurels, Paleface Swiss will begin 2026 with the release of 'The Wilted EP', their biggest headline tour of Europe and the UK to date and will be heading back to the US in May to play major festivals Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple Festival. For more info and tickets head to palefaceswiss.com

NYC's Jessie Kilguss shares 'Fool's Fight', showcasing sixth album 'They Have A Howard Johnson's There'

NYC-based singer-songwriter Jessie Kilguss presents 'Fool’s Fight', a beautiful calling card for her new album 'They Have A Howard Johnson's There' - her sixth to date. Here, she delivers a powerful, indie-folk anthem about surrendering to a relationship so immediate and intense it feels like a cosmic force, compelling the narrator to abandon all societal pretense.

A name whispered with reverence in deep-cut New York songwriting circles, Kilguss is not one to shy away from the cinematic or the deeply literary. Defined by a clever, layered nostalgia, Kilguss crafts a sonic space that is intimately personal and universally resonant, proving that sometimes, the greatest stories can be found in the most unlikely places.

Engineered, produced, mixed and mastered by Charlie Nieland (Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie, Scissor Sisters) at Saturation Point Studios in Brooklyn, this album is a collection of tracks that are nuanced, building from a simple guitar and voice into something far grander.

"I have a songwriting club with my friend Rembert Block, who is a singer-songwriter-bandleader and also sang backing vocals on my record. We meet every 3 or 4 weeks and share a new song with each other. Our club has been meeting for over two years now, which has been incredibly helpful for keeping us both in the habit of writing new songs on a regular basis," says Jessie Kilguss.

"When I wrote 'Fool’s Fight', I was deeply ensconced in Elena Ferrante’s "Neapolitan Quartet", which I loved! The song is slightly inspired by those books. As with any song it also relates to my own life but I like to let people project their own stories onto my songs, find their own meaning."

A fine cartographer of this emotional landscape, Kilguss isn't just making music; she's collecting fragments of the past, stitching them into a luminous, deeply felt present. A powerful collection steeped in sweet nostalgia, divine inspiration and sophistication, this album is a masterclass in mood and a sonic exploration where poetic introspection and light-filled melodies intersect with folk-laced resignation.

"This is a collection of songs I’ve written over the past few years, most being inspired, at least in part, by a book (Elena Ferrante’s 'The Lost Daughter & Neapolitan Quartet'), a movie ('Dog Day Afternoon') or a work of art ('The Ecstasy of St Teresa'). The title comes from a line in the song 'Howard Johnson’s', which is a roundabout tribute to my father Howard, who passed away in 2023," says Kilguss.

"I’ve been working on this album for the past year with producer Charlie Nieland, with whom I have been collaborating since 2007. We started every track with just voice and guitar and built them out from there. Previously, I’ve always gone into the studio with my band to record. This was an interesting way to work as we deconstructed each song and then put them back together.."

This album also involves heavy-hitters like Kirk Schoenherr (Tegan and Sara, Elle King, Chet Faker)John Kengla (David Byrne, Ben Kweller, Serena Ryder), Andrea Longato (Duncan Sheik, Jeremy Jordan), Rob Heath (Madison Square Gardeners, Julia Nunes), Dave Derby (The Dambuilders, Gramercy Arms, Lloyd Cole) and Rembert Block (Rembert and the Basic Goodness).

The lead track 'Howard Johnson's' is a beautiful, melancholic tribute to her late father, Howard, name-checked in a surreal line by Al Pacino in the movie "Dog Day Afternoon", while 'St. Teresa in Ecstasy' is a divine, slow-burn revelation, inspired by Bernini's dramatic sculpture and the dizzying feeling of being utterly overwhelmed by art or even something celestial. understands the power of great moments, and this song is pure, dramatic and full of radiant harmonics.

Kilguss is a former actress who cut her teeth working with titans like Daniel Day Lewisand Winona Ryder on 'The Crucible', as well as Marianne Faithfull and Mary Margaret O'Hara in the Tom Waits / William Burroughs musical 'The Black Rider'. Kilguss sings with Gramercy Arms, Loser’s Lounge, Jim Andralis & the Syntonics and Benjamin Cartel. She has performed at the Sundance Film Festival and with Freddie Stevenson, touring with The Waterboys, and was an artist in residence at Fish Factory Creative Center in Stodvarfjordur, Iceland in the summer of 2025.

Kilguss' 2022 album 'What Do Whales Dream About at Night?' LP features drummer Brian Griffin (Patti Smith, Brandi Carlisle, Lana Del Rey), bassist Whynot Jansveld (The Wallflowers), composer-producer Naren Rauch, and Nathan Schram (Bjork, David Crosby, David Byrne), with whom Kilguss ran the non-profit organization Musicambia.

Illusions of Grandeur Unleash Their Darkest Anthem Yet with New Single “CURSES”

When the clock strikes twelve, the world changes — and so does the sound of modern rock. Rising rock force Illusions of Grandeur steps into the shadows with their explosive new single, “Midnight”, a cinematic, pulse-pounding anthem that blurs the line between reality, illusion, and revelation.

Fueled by towering guitars, a thunderous rhythm section, and vocals that rise from a whisper to a storm, “Midnight” captures the moment where fear and freedom collide. It is a song about reckoning — with your past, your demons, your dreams — and the dangerous power that comes alive when nothing is left to hide.

Released in 2023, "Midnight" is getting new life with an official release.

OPETH RELEASE OFFICIAL ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO FOR "§3" TO MARK THE ONE-YEAR-ANNIVERSARY OF THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of The Last Will and Testament, OPETH is proud to unveil a brand-new animated video crafted to bring the album’s intricate story to life. Created by Absynthe Moon Media, the film offers a visual interpretation of the narrative that has intrigued fans since the record’s release in November 2024.

The animated music video for "§3"returns to the central family story at the heart of the album. Set during the reading of a 1920s patriarch’s will, the video captures the shifting relationships and subtle tensions that shape the storyline, while allowing viewers to interpret the finer details for themselves.

Guided by Mikael Åkerfeldt’s story and concept, the visual narrative enhances the album’s core themes: identity fractured by lies, legacies built on instability, and the slow unraveling of those who once believed they understood their place within the family. The result is a stirring and immersive complement to one of OPETH’s most ambitious works.

German Rock x Metal Trio The Hirsch Effekt Share "Das Nachsehen" Visualizer

German rock x metal trio The Hirsch Effekt present the video for the new single "Das Nachsehen." It's the second track to be released from their new studio album Der Brauch, which arrives January 30 via Long Branch Records.

"Tausend Male hab ich diskutiert. Kein Mal davon hab ich das mit dir."

"The song 'Das Nachsehen' is basically about how I — and some people around me — deal with conflicts," says singer Nils Wittrock. "Instead of talking to each other, interpersonal conflicts are negotiated with third parties. Many people shut themselves off behind their noise-cancelling headphones and smartphones. This stands in stark contrast to how many (especially) men walk around with a great sense of mission — be it loud engines, phone calls on speakerphone or Bluetooth speakers. Sometimes it seems to me that we are forgetting how to talk."

Since their formation, The Hirsch Effekt have carved out a unique niche in the German-speaking music scene. Yet, despite — or perhaps because of — their elusiveness, the band has captivated a devoted audience. Musically, The Hirsch Effekt have always embraced limitless possibilities. Acoustic, introspective moments —where bassist Ilja John Lappin brings out his cello or guitarist Nils Wittrock returns to his classical roots — sit naturally alongside massive progressive metal onslaughts.

While earlier works, despite their diversity, were still labeled "metal albums," this new record explores paths first hinted at on the multilayered second album, Holon: Anamnesis — the same album that fans of VISIONS magazine voted the only German-language entry among the 20 best albums of all time. Der Brauch can be seen as a return to that pivotal point — and simultaneously as a bold step forward. Drummer Moritz Schmidt doesn't entirely forgo blast beats, but the record demands a new heading. In the end, though, there is only one truth: *t unmistakably sounds like The Hirsch Effekt.

THE HIRSCH EFFEKT ARE:
Nils Wittrock — Guitar, Vocals
Ilja John Lappin — Bass, Vocals
Moritz Schmidt — Drums, Vocals

COREY KENT AND KOE WETZEL REACH ROCK BOTTOM IN NEW COLLAB, “ROCKY MOUNTAIN LOW”

Multi-platinum country star Corey Kent reaches rock bottom in a devastating new collaboration, “Rocky Mountain Low” (feat. Koe Wetzel). Featuring a swampy groove and the agony of barely hanging on, the track is out (12/5).

A desolate Western rocker co-written by Kent alongside Austin Goodloe, Michael Tyler and Thomas Archer, “Rocky Mountain Low” finds Kent and Wetzel careening down a heartbreak spiral, falling from the high of a woman’s love. And before landing in a canyon of despair, they hit every emotional boulder on the way.

"'Rocky Mountain Low’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded,” Kent reflects. “It has all the rock and roll elements I grew up on and all the country influences I love. I asked my buddy Koe to jump on the second verse, and he was the person I pictured when writing that part, so having him on the track just makes it feel even more authentic.”

With production by Goodloe, low-down country grit meets the golden shimmer of ‘70s rock, to create an avalanche of soul-chilling angst. A weary vocal blend and the muted thump of a damaged heart join the lonely howl of electric guitars, with no strength left to fight off the pain.

“Corey and I have talked about working together for a while now, and this song finally gave us the chance,” shared Wetzel. “I heard it once and knew it was the one. I’m really proud of how it came together.”

The first taste of new music since Kent’s 2025 EP Poster Child, “Rocky Mountain Low” (feat. Koe Wetzel) will impact Country Radio on Monday (12/8). Despite the single’s wounded theme, the independently-minded artist continues scaling a steep trail to superstardom.

Surpassing 1 billion career streams earlier in the year, Kent’s second No. 1 single “This Heart” was certified GOLD by the RIAA this week, and his hard-driving hit “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” is approaching PLATINUM status. Both join Kent’s TRIPLE-PLATINUM No. 1 breakout “Wild As Her.”

Looking ahead, the Oklahoma native will join Jason Aldean’s Full Throttle World Tour in February 2026 for a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand. Next April, Kent will return to the massive Stagecoach festival in Indio, California (4/25). And in May, he’ll be back overseas for the Highways Festival in London, U.K. (5/16), plus a handful of headline dates in Germany and The Netherlands.

Recognized by Rolling Stone as an artist that is “poised to be country’s latest red dirt star,” Kent has become a decorated artist on the rise, growing from humble heartland roots into a Triple-Platinum certified No. 1 hit maker with one billion career streams.

Rising from the vibrant Red Dirt country scene as the embodiment of authenticity, Kent set his sights on Nashville as a teen, bringing his self-penned catalog of country-rock anthems with him. But after the pandemic coincided with the loss of his first publishing deal, Kent was forced to move to Texas and get a job on a paving crew to pay the bills, yet he stubbornly refused to call music quits, with honky-tonks and dancehalls on both sides of the Red River becoming his stomping ground.

Fast forward a few years and the hit single “Wild As Her” proved he was right all along. An untamed tribute to a free-spirited stunner, the track re-invigorated Kent’s career as a now Triple-Platinum-certified No. 1 at country radio, and the lead single off his 2023 major label album debut, Blacktop. Since then, Kent’s track “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” went Gold and he also earned his second No. 1 at country radio with track “This Heart,” as the song reached the top of both the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart and the Billboard Country Airplay chart this summer.

Kent released his sophomore major-label album, Black Bandana, to critical acclaim in 2024, with Music Row Magazine describing the title track as “gently but unrelentingly uplifting.” He’s also earned next-big thing accolades along the way, including recognition from CMT and the Opry Next Stage program and toured with the likes of Morgan Wallen, Jon Pardi, Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum and more.

Defined by the tenacity and trailblazing spirit he developed from years of cutting his teeth on the road, Kent is now kickstarting a new chapter, taking his creativity to new heights. For the latest news and information about Corey Kent, visit coreykentofficial.com.
