After emerging from the misty forests of Northern California four years ago, Wrath of Logarius spread through the world of underground metal like a bloodborne virus. "...a ferocious display of intent which signifies the band's potential to become a powerhouse", New Noise wrote about the band's burning introduction.

Many hunters would've reaped their rewards while resting their bones, but Crown of Mortis only builds on the band's growing lore. The album's first single summoned all the bloody runes from the band's formless spellbook. Now armed with newly minted Strega guitars, Wrath of Logarius cycle through the many moonlit phases of black metal on "Of the Void".

New bassist Xolotl opens the icy procession with dissonant bass chugs, as if marching toward death. Like a howling wind, Vastator whips across a darkened stretch of classic tremolo picking, only to climb like mist through a solo that drips with despair.     

"Open the gates and let revision in", Noctifier screams before being engulfed by the blistering flames from Lord Marco's blast beats. "Slowly dismantle every part of you". 

On "Of the Void", Wrath of Logarius usher black metal into a boundless new realm.

STAN LYNCH (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) Announces Formation of THE SPEAKER WARS + Debut Music Video

STAN LYNCH, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, long-time drummer and founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, announces today the formation of THE SPEAKER WARS. After two decades of recording and touring multiple albums with The Heartbreakers, STAN moved to the other side of the recording console and shifted his focus to production and songwriting. Over the years, STAN has written and produced hits for artists in multiple genres, including the Eagles, Don Henley, Tim McGraw, The Mavericks, Ringo Starr, The Byrds, Toto, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

While writing in Nashville, a publisher introduced STAN to Texas singer-songwriter, Jon Christopher Davis, who was gathering material for a solo record on a major label. After accumulating an album’s worth of songs, Jon abandoned working on a solo record and the two decided to start a band to perform the newly created material. Adding Jay Michael Smith on guitar, Brian Patterson on bass, Steve Ritter on percussion, and Jay Brown on keyboards, THE SPEAKER WARS was born.

The band then headed into 5M Studios in Denton, TX, with co-producer Mike Pisterzi, and produced a full-length album. Upon hearing the material, Frontiers Records immediately signed the band, and their debut album is scheduled for release on May 30th.

STAN LYNCH says:

"After my 20-year tenure with the Heartbreakers, I got a second act writing and producing. It was educational beyond measure to learn how to create music from the other side of the glass. Around this time, I met Jon Christopher Davis in Nashville who casually mentioned that we should start a band –– so here I am –– in THE SPEAKER WARS and it's good to have my old job back. The guys in our new band know how to make great music, and I'm looking forward to another round.”

Movements Share New Song "Where I Lay" — LISTEN // Tour Kicks Off 3/1

MOVEMENTS are delighted to share the brand new song "WHERE I LAY."

The song boasts Movements' signature push and pull guitar tension, but there is a level of stunning refinement of the band's sonic hallmarks. It also finds the band exploring some territory it had stepped away from in the songwriting process.

"'Where I Lay' is one of those songs that was tough for me to write," says vocalist Patrick Miranda. "Lyrically, it's really emotionally vulnerable and it had me revisiting places with my writing that I hadn't explored in a while. It's for anyone else out there who feels like they've never quite fit right in the world. This one is for the outcasts."

Regarding the single's striking, black and white artwork and its overarching connective tissue with the previously released Movements song "Afraid To Die," Miranda states, "It's a behind-the-scenes film photo that I took at the 'Afraid To Die' music video shoot!"

He furthers, "The idea is that 'Afraid To Die' and 'Where I Lay' are living in the same world thematically — and, in some ways, are extensions of one another. In 'Afraid To Die,' I'm being chased by masked figures. In 'Where I Lay,' the masked figure is going to be me. Since 'Where I Lay' is about feeling like you don't belong; it's almost this idea that the reason I was being chased in 'Afraid To Die' is because I never really was supposed to be part of the group of masked figures to begin with. It's like you're wearing a mask to try to blend in, but in the end, it's pointless... because one way or another, you'll be found out."

In other Movements news, the band will embark on their 2025 North American Tour, joined by special guests Citizen, Scowl, and Downward. Produced by Live Nation, the 24-city tour kicks off on March 1 at Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ making stops across North America in Atlanta, Toronto, Brooklyn, Detroit, Chicago, and more, before wrapping up in Los Angeles at The Torch at the LA Coliseum on April 6.

It's been a whirlwind few years for Movements as evidenced by the fact that band's 2020 albumNo Good Left to Givedebuted at #3 on the Alternative chart and their streams have doubled since then with 478 million total streams in the U.S. alone. However, despite their success, the Southern Californian act have constantly reinvented themselves since forming in 2015 and the band's third full-lengthRUCKUS!sees the post-hardcore quartet taking their sound to expansive and sometimes unexpected places. Produced by longtime collaborator Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange), the album fuses post-hardcore and punk influences with a healthy dose of pop songcraft to create an album that defies scene conventions in favor of something wholly unique. Manchester electro pop artist Richard Evans shares 'Aidoru' single, previewing new album

Manchester-based electro pop artist Richard Evans is back with his new single. 'Aidoru', released via Cold Star Media, is named for the Japanese word meaning "idol". The song's lyrics explore the status of a virtual pop idol designed only to please its audience as it sings of love with no understanding of what the word means.

A British-Irish electronic musician, writer and digital media artist, Evans' foray into the music scene includes time as the keyboardist in UK cult band James, with whom he also co-wrote and recorded material, and as guitarist and songwriter for St. Vitus Dancers.

'Aidoru' previews Evans' new 'Quantum' album, released in stereo, binaural and spatial audio mixes, created by award-winning Swiss sound designer Hervé Girardin. Recorded at Cold Star Studios, this nine-track collection itself is themed around artificial intelligence -  probing its impact upon us,  how algorithms are changing us and questioning what responsibility we bear for the things we create.

"This song is one of the first written for the new album and marks a change in my writing process, being originated on just piano and vocals rather than devised within studio software. I specifically wanted a bright, hi-energy track to match the commerciality of the virtual idol concept. The lyrics reflect a creation that is designed for just one purpose - to serve its listeners," says Richard Evans.

Last year, Evans released his 'Dream of the World' EP, composed and recorded in the aftermath of a life-threatening illness. In 2022, Evans was struck with Miller Fisher Syndrome, a rare auto-immune disorder that threatened to rob him of his ability to speak, sing, and play music. Yet, against all odds, he emerged victorious, relearning everything from scratch -  a testament to his unwavering determination and a celebration of his triumph over adversity.

Richard Evans' draws inspiration from real-world science, exploring biotechnology, machine intelligence and the environment. For this album, existing songs were refined and new material was written, combining the warmth of classic synths with pared-down lyrics that explore real-world subject matter.

His 2022 debut record 'Sentinel' is an electro-pop concept album that touches on micro-plastics, gene editing, stardust, technogenic disasters and human evolution, telling the story of humanity at a tipping point and a world trapped in a climate crisis. Both 'Sentinel' and 'Dream of the World' were met with critical acclaim and global airplay.

He has performed live shows at festivals around the UK and at the end of 2023, a year on from the illness, he delivered his first large-scale outdoor production with visuals projected onto the exterior of a  venue during a performance. In 2024, Evans also received the Cultural Accelerator commission from Media Immersive Technology Innovation Hub to prototype a new live production featuring hologram-style projections, spatial audio and lighting effects.

Evans also wrote, directed and produced the science fiction drama 'AEON'. An author of many short stories, he also published the novel 'KOSMONAUT ZERO' (via Dead Ink), researched at Star City Cosmonaut Training Centre. He also oversaw the 'Gagarin 50' exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the first human spaceflight by Yuri Gagarin.

As of February 18, 'Aidoru' is available everywhere online, including Spotify, Apple Music and directly from the artist via Bandcamp. The full 'Quantum' album will be released on April 25 via Cold Star Media.

A rock band out of a factory section of Stamford, CT by way of NYC. The Fifth Estate often played 5 or 6 hours a night, 6 nights a week, for months at a time. They rocked harder and heavier than most bands of the 60s. This did them no great service due to the AM Radio pop required of the day. So on a bet at a NYC party they jokingly did “Ding Dong The Witch is Dead”. It was a huge hit around the world. This and 3 other hits moved them on to huge concert around the country. Live they were ahead of things in the 60s and as Tomorrow Is My Turn could show you they already played what would become the thing in the 70s and again in the 90s and then and now again with bands like Oasis in the 2020s.

WEDNESDAY 13 Announces 10th Studio Album "Mid Death Crisis" + Drops Scandalous New Music Video

WEDNESDAY 13 comments, "Growing up in the '80s, I remember the satanic panic of heavy metal music and parents' concern over what their kids were listening to. My mother was constantly checking my cassettes and making sure I wasn't possessed by the devil. Most of the music that I listened to never had any of those themes, but they were just accused of it. So when writing the lyrics to this song, I wrote what I thought would terrify my mother if she had stumbled upon this music. I wanted the lyrics to be upfront and leave no question as to what they were about...The Devil. This song is done in a fun spirit, and we don't plan on burning any churches in the future."

Eerie introductory track "There's No Such Thing As Monsters" vibrates with electricity before industrial-tinged "Decease and Desist" kicks in full blast.WEDNESDAY 13's trademark crooning wastes no time entering the fold as he careens through the high-octane horror anthem, before tracks like "Rotting Away" and "Blood Storm" ensnare with metallic goth-punk energy that will have crowds moving wall to wall. Written in motion – on the road, in hotel rooms, and across continents – it reflects the raw energy of their return to the global festival circuit after an 11-year hiatus. UNATØNED was recorded at Robb's Jam Room, Sharkbite Studios, and Drop Of Sun Recording between July 2023 and December 2024. The album was produced by Robb Flynn as well as Zack Ohren who was also responsible for the engineering. The mixing and mastering was handled by Colin Richardson and Chris Clancy at Audioworks UK and the mastering of the record was handled by Ted Jensen and his assistant Justin Shturtz. The only exception was the track 'LANDSCAPE ØF THØRNS' which was produced by Flynn and Joel Wanasek who was also in charge of mixing the single alongside Zack Ohren. MACHINE HEAD once again tapped Seth Siro Anton to create the album artwork.

This Spring, MACHINE HEAD are heading on a massive North American tour alongside labelmates and Swedish melodic death metal icons IN FLAMES, Italian metal titans LACUNA COIL, and American metalcore outfit UNEARTH. The 24-date trek will kick off on April 5th with a “hometown” show for MACHINE HEAD at the legendary Fox Theater then heads South for a stop at Sick New World Festival before heading East and making its way across Canada.

But the Athenians' upcoming eleventh album is their darkest and most epic creation yet. Like their brothers-in-arms, Nightfall sculpt towering gothic melodies from their blackened slab of death metal. After all, they're the first Greek band to perform at Wacken Open Air. Children of Eve is blessed with the mightiest set of hooks in their deep discography. Their new album was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen, who's worked with Volbeat, Amaranthe, The Black Dahlia Murder and many other big names from metal's pantheon. "I Hate" seethes with thunderous bass, riffs that crack like lightning and blast beats from ex-Septicflesh drummer Fotis Benardo that flow with all the fire and fury of the River Styx.

"I am a manic servant of deity of doom", Efthimis roars as a Greek choir echoes his righteous anger like the call of a siren.

Their new single will have the festival masses headbanging and raising horns, but it wouldn't bear the mark of Nightfall if it didn't possess a deeper message. While the band's disdain for the restrictions of the Eastern Orthodox Church has only grown, their latest act of rebellion was fueled by the ongoing rise of religious wars. "Anger was the root", Efthimis reveals about what inspired Children of Eve. In the video for "I Hate", a fallen warrior is resurrected, only to hunt down his guardian angel.

"Faith is a personal matter", Efthimis continues, "but it can become a dirty business".

It's a message that the frontman hopes will unite metal messiahs across the globe. While Nightfall was on hiatus during the 2010s, Efthimis was diagnosed with depression. He now wears a black mask to cover half of his face to symbolize what's it's like to live under the invisible veil of mental illness. "We can talk about this. We can sing about it", he says when asked about the band's new initiative Metal Music Against Depression (MMaD), which is supported by the European Alliance Against Depression in Germany. "We can build a community that's based on understanding".

RED REIGN SET TO OPEN FOR LA GUNS THIS SPRING, IN SUPPORT OF 'DON'T LOOK BACK' LP

Virginia-based rockers Red Reign are honored to announce a string of east coast dates that they will open for LA Guns throughout late April and early May. 

The band will be performing standout tracks from their most recent album, 'Don't Look Back.' 

"We are excited to be back on the road supporting one of our favorite bands, LA Guns," said the band in a statement. 

"We are looking forward to being back on stage performing live – material from our latest release and fan favorites, and continuing to meet new friends along the way."

RUSS BALLARD is simply one of the most renowned and gifted songwriters in pop and rock music. His music career started when he was only 14 years old, and he wrote a tune, which was recorded by The Shadows, appearing on their album, 'The Sound Of The Shadows' in 1964.

During the 70s and 80s, his songs ruled the airwaves, and the list of hits is pretty much endless. From “Since You Been Gone” (Rainbow), “God Gave Rock'n'Roll To You” (Argent and KISS), “So You Win Again” (Hot Chocolate), “New York Groove” (Hello and Ace Frehley), “You Can Do Magic” (America), “Winning” (Santana) or “I Don’t Believe In Miracles” (Colin Blunstone) – just to name a few – everyone who needed a great song knew that with RUSS BALLARD they could not go wrong.

Numerous records/artists were also produced by him, like Roger Daltrey, America, Elkie Brooks, Skindred or Sada Vidoo. In 1974, he started a solo career (after his stint with the band Argent in early 70’s), which had its highest momentum with the 'S/t' album in 1984 (which included the hit single “Voices”) and the follow up “The Fire Still Burns”.

Since then, BALLARD has released 10 studio albums and is still writing and producing hits. Three songs from his 1984 and 1985 albums were featured in the TV show “Miami Vice” and were extensively played on dance floors around Europe.

He continues, “Lyrically, I wrote it from the place I used to go whenever something went wrong in my life, which I think we can all relate to. It's a place I now consciously avoid when things fall apart. But it’s that moment when everything in your life has fallen apart, you’re at the bar, and you just don’t care anymore. Maybe it’s the end of a relationship, the loss of a friend or family member, or you just got fired—whatever it may be, we've all had a night like this. It’s a scary feeling, and it’s a place I never want to go back to, but that’s the song in a nutshell. It’s pretty on the nose, so to speak, but I felt like I needed to write it down to remind myself to never go there again.”

DIAMOND DOGS may be a bunch of renaissance rockers deeply rooted in the early 70s British rock and roll, but just like their forerunners, they owe almost everything to Little Richard, the architect of it all! It's impossible to even imagine rock and roll without him.

One of DIAMOND DOGS' early tunes is called "Lunatic Eye-Rolling Delivery" which is a line nicked from a concert review of Little Richard, and we believe it sums up the essence of his greatness pretty well. He was much more than a rock pioneer, the way he dressed up and spoke was something the world had never experienced before.

Little Richard got Paul McCartney to write "I Saw Her Standing There", got James Browna new haircut, and put a silly little mustache on Prince!

So, the idea of recording a homage to the true king of rock and roll had been with the band for many years when CHRIS SPEDDING one day called Sulo and asked if they should record something together. Of course, Sulo immediately said yes, and then asked him to join DIAMOND DOGS in the upcoming studio session to record some well selected Little Richard gems for an LP. All said and done, and CHRIS was extra thrilled that his favorite "Send Me Some Lovin'' was among the songs that were picked.

And, on a cold and windy January day, the DOGS gathered with the new old puppy in the sweet premises of Dog Pound Studios, along with their beloved friend and engineer Jonas Åhlén.

About the re-recorded version of "The Road", the band comments:

"'The Road' was a very fun and special song that was originally the exclusive bonus track for the Japanese release of our second album, 'Emerald Seas'. It’s hard to believe it, but now, for the album’s 5-year anniversary, we wanted to give a facelift and update to this track and release it for the rest of the world to enjoy.

Multiple versions of this new song are presented here on this EP. 

 Music lovers will state that a great “song” will sound great played in any of these formats, so TESLA’s Brian Wheat and Frank Hannon have teamed up to produce this 12” Vinyl EP of their new single  “All About Love” showcasing these different versions of the song. 

Captured by Brian Wheat in his upstate NY recording studio, there is an electric version that shows how the band performs the song in full force, as well as two stripped down acoustic versions that showcase the dynamics of his mixes. Thus, Jeff Keith’s heartfelt lyrics about sharing love can be felt and to honor TESLA’s tradition of  adding an acoustic instrumental to their love ballads, Frank Hannon recorded here a new classically influenced acoustic guitar solo piece titled “From The Heart” that is a nod to their 1987 hit “Love Song”. 

Furthermore, to present the “live in concert”  element of TESLA, a rendition of "All About Love" segues into James Gang’s classic song "Walk Away", both were recorded live at a Las Vegas concert earlier this year. They are included here as bonus tracks! 

Throughout their nearly 40 year career, TESLA the band has performed diligently showing their prowess in these diverse environments. Both their electric and acoustic formats are received with love and acceptance by their loyal fanbase and TESLA the band is still selling out concerts to this day.

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like Bad Company, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000.

DAWN OF SOLACE Release New Album & Lyric Video for New Track "Dream"; 'Affliction Vortex' out now ! ​

DAWN OF SOLACE, the Finnish masters of melancholic metal, have unleashed their latest creation, Affliction Vortex. Released through Noble Demon on Vinyl and Digipak CD, the album promises to solidify the band's place at the forefront of the genre.

Formed in 2005 as Tuomas Saukkonen's (WOLFHEART, BEFORE THE DAWN) creative outlet, DAWN OF SOLACE quickly established itself with their debut album, "The Darkness" (2006). Despite a hiatus due to legal complications, the band's loyal fanbase remained unwavering, keeping the flame alive. A triumphant return came in 2019 with the signing to Noble Demon. This partnership revitalized DAWN OF SOLACE, leading to two successful full-length albums - "Waves" (2020) and "Flames of Perdition" (2022) - alongside an unplugged EP. In early 2024, the band entered the studio, determined to craft their most versatile album yet.

Affliction Vortex represents the culmination of this artistic evolution. The album promises a dark and immersive experience, delving deep into the heart of Finnish melancholy. It's a sonic journey that will resonate with fans of atmospheric and emotionally charged metal.

To celebrate the album's release, DAWN OF SOLACE have unveiled a lyric video for the track "Dream". Regarding the choice of "Dream" as a single, mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen comments: "Dream might not be the most typical DoS single song but the forward pushing pulse and the steady groove of the song made it impossible to ignore it as one of the obvious single choices. Like a train rushing through the night and full moon illuminating the view."

LOVE IS NOISE Release Debut Album “To live in a different way” via Century Media Records

LOVE IS NOISE release their debut album “To live in a different way” on the heralded metal label Century Media. Already receiving incredible reviews across the board, with Metal Hammer claiming the album is “the first truly great debut of 2025” and scoring it 9/10, and Kerrang! also praising the record.

 After an incredibly busy and successful 2024, this year is set to be another massive one for LOVE IS NOISE. February 14th sees the release of their highly anticipated debut album, ‘To live in a different way.’ With influences from Portishead, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Oasis, Bowery Electric, Boards of Canada, and Deftones, the band set about to create a record that makes you feel every emotion possible.

Speaking of the album, Cam says:

“‘To live in a different way’ is the story of a kid from Bolton trying to understand the world he lives in. It's 11 tracks full of love, heartache and dream-soaked melody, I believe we’ve created something special.”

LOVE IS NOISE is an exercise in empathy, both lyrically and musically. The band’s Century Media debut, ‘To live in a different way’, straddles the roughshod riffing and volume of their DIY origins while embracing shoegaze-facing melodiousness, hints of Brit-pop, and a beating (and bleeding) heart erupting from Cam Humphrey’s plaintive vocals. Co-produced by the band with engineer Kel Pinchin and mixed by John Markson (Drug Church, Drain, The Story So Far), ‘To live in a different way’ is a startling debut album. From the opening track, “Devotion,” where Humphrey’s voice invokes passion and positivity, to the second track, “Soft Glow,” the album’s first single where he croons, “You are the one that shines on me,”before launching into a throat-shredding exaltation of emotion amidst a crushing battery of slashing guitars and battering drums, it’s clear from the onset that LOVE IS NOISE’s heartbeat is a thunderous one.

“We made a conscious decision to make the record feel like a live band, mistakes included!”says Cam. “In an era where perfection is heavily favoured, we wanted to do the complete opposite and dive headfirst into creating something our idols would’ve set out to create.”

LOVE IS NOISE began its journey in 2021 as a collaboration between Humphrey and former guitarist Tom Mellon (who recently left the band to explore other musical endeavours) balancing the ethereal and intense. While sonic signposts include modern-day shoegaze as well as the likes of Glassjaw and Deftones, the band’s 2022 EP, 'Euphoria, Where Were You?' (released on FEVER 333 frontman Jason Aalon Butler’s 333 WRECKORDS CREW) pointed towards a soul-crushing sonic heartache all their own.

A string of singles led to the band inking with Century Media and beginning work on their debut album. LOVE IS NOISE released the first taste of new music with the acclaimed singles “Soft Glow” and “Jawbreaker” which appeared on numerous playlists across the streaming platforms and were featured on BBC Radio One (Daniel P Carter, Alyx Holcombe and Nels Hylton all showing their support).
