RED REIGN SET TO OPEN FOR LA GUNS THIS SPRING, IN SUPPORT OF 'DON'T LOOK BACK' LP

Virginia-based rockers Red Reign are honored to announce a string of east coast dates that they will open for LA Guns throughout late April and early May. 

The band will be performing standout tracks from their most recent album, 'Don't Look Back.' 

"We are excited to be back on the road supporting one of our favorite bands, LA Guns," said the band in a statement. 

"We are looking forward to being back on stage performing live – material from our latest release and fan favorites, and continuing to meet new friends along the way."

Taking 80’s influences but steering them in a more contemporary direction, Red Reign (which is comprised of members singer/guitarist Carlton “Bubba” McMichael, guitarist Stevie Shred, bassist Larry Moore, and drummer Sammy Lee) bridge the sounds of yesterday and today, and can compete with the current active rock radio climate – as heard throughout their aforementioned 2023 full-length debut, ‘Don’t Look Back,’ which was supported by opening shows last year for classic rockers Nazareth. 

Overseen by Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum producer David Ivory(Halestorm, Silvertide), the ten-track LP features such standout tracks as “Don’t Look Back” (which features a guest appearance by guitarist George Lynch), “Here I Am,” and “No Peace, No Love.” The band strongly feels that “All types of music lovers can find what they like in each one of our songs.” To check out the group's music video for "Don't Look Back," below.

Heavier songs are mixed with bluesier, boogie inducing tracks and dark, introspective ballads, often harkening back to the first three albums the band made, but also pushing the band forward. When fans absorb the album as a whole, they'll see that the tracklisting is divided up into 'sets' or 'suites', where a sonic style is explored across multiple songs before moving on to the next, making for a remarkable listening experience.

Feeling inspired and excited like they did when they first started out, but with many years of wisdom and experience under their belts, and most importantly, a renewed and stronger creative and personal relationship, Guns and Lewis are maintaining a creative peak that started with "The Missing Peace". "Checkered Past" shows a band invigorated and ready to bash you over the head, as well as “wow” you with some epic, slower songs, and even make you dance a bit to some rock 'n roll.

Since their self-titled debut in 1988 to the widely praised comeback albums "The Missing Peace" and "The Devil You Know", L.A. GUNS, led by Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis have always delivered solid rock ‘n roll to their fans. This current incarnation of the band has been touring non-stop, with a notable break coinciding with all other touring bands, and the cohesiveness of the unit, not to mention Phil’s stunning and unique vocals and Guns’ mind-bending guitar playing, are on full display here. As the title implies, the performance celebrates the band's treasured second album, "Cocked & Loaded". The band has dropped a live version of "Wheels of Fire."

"Cocked & Loaded Live" will precede the release of a brand new studio album from Lewis, Guns, and company, which is due this fall. More details on that in the coming weeks.

As everyone knows at this point, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a difficult blow to the entire live music business. While artists, road crews, venues, and fans all collectively eagerly await a return to normalcy, artists have gotten busy bringing live music to fans' living rooms. While they had just commenced work on an upcoming new studio album, in November 2020, L.A. Guns wanted to get together and do one of the things they love most, which is play a 'live' show. The band announced a special gig at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, NV that would celebrate the 31st anniversary of their beloved album, “Cocked and Loaded”.

L.A. Guns, aka Phil Lewis, Tracii Guns, Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin, and Scotty Coogan, thus performed a one of a kind show which was streamed worldwide to fans in the comfort of their own homes. The band performed all the classic proper studio tracks from Cocked & Loaded and, as usual, delivered a killer show. Picking right up where they left off from their previous incessant touring cycles and relieved to finally be onstage again, the band tore through all the classic album tracks that fans know and love. From "Rip and Tear” to "Never Enough” to "The Ballad of Jayne” to "I Wanna Be Your Man" and “Malaria,” this was a primal, visceral performance. And while celebrating a milestone in their career, the band also acknowledged the present and played “Speed” from their more recent album “The Missing Peace”.

"Cocked & Loaded" remains a gem of a truly special and unique era in hard rock music. These incredible and killer renditions of timeless songs captured in a moment and setting that none of us will not soon forget are now preserved for all to enjoy again or for the first time.

BAND CURRENTLY WRITING AND RECORDING NEXT STUDIO ALBUM

The song was written and recorded this past month while the band is in the midst of work on their next studio album. The band was so struck by the song that they felt the need to release it immediately rather than sit on it for the next studio album. It may or may not appear on said album. 

Of the song, Phil Lewis says, "This is our new single, 'Let You Down,' a deep haunting work and words from a tormented soul. It was recorded during quarantine, so Tracii laid down his guitar tracks in Denmark, I did my vocals at home in Las Vegas, and Adam Hamilton played drums and mixed it in LA. Under normal circumstances, it would have been recorded in a more traditional way, but somehow the isolation adds to the atmosphere of this very cool song. I’m sure you’re going to love it. Cheers." 

Tracii Guns adds, "This song just appeared at the right time, while we were writing and recording on different continents. Also, we won’t be performing anytime soon and it seems like the type of song that our fans can hold on to for awhile."

L.A. Guns are currently writing and recording songs for a new studio album tentatively due for release via Frontiers Music Srl in late 2020/early 2021. This will be the third studio album since the much welcome reunion of the band's core foundation of vocalist Phil Lewis and guitarist Tracii Guns. It will follow the well received studio albums "The Missing Peace" and "The Devil You Know", plus the live release, "Made In Milan" and a covers EP, "Another Xmas In Hell".
