Corey Kent & Jason Aldean Unite for Anthem "Rather Be Here"; 'Heartland Rock and Roll' Arrives 9/25

Multi-Platinum Sony Music Nashville recording artist Corey Kent is joined by country superstar Jason Aldean on his new song, "Rather Be Here," available everywhere today. The collaboration marks another preview of Kent's forthcoming album, Heartland Rock and Roll, due Sept. 25.

Listen to “Rather Be Here”  Below.

Written by Michael Hardy, James McNair, Josh Miller, Morgan Wallen and Daniel Ross, "Rather Be Here" is a rowdy, feel-good anthem celebrating the unmistakable magic of a Saturday night at the local honky tonk. Fueled by a sing-along hook and southern rock swagger, the track captures this simple truth:

"There's nothing I love more about music than playing live, which is why this song resonated so deeply with me," shares Kent. "The energy from a rowdy Saturday night honky tonk crowd is the spirit of this track."

Kent continues, "I really wanted to capture a '70s-style southern rock vibe, and I'm so lucky to have my big brother in country music, Jason Aldean, on this one. It's still surreal every time I hear his voice come in on verse two. Nobody has blended country and rock & roll better than Jason. His early stuff was such an inspiration to me as an artist, so having him on this song is perfect. It has such an infectious, sing-along quality to it, and I can't wait to hear folks sing it with us at shows."

"Rather Be Here" continues the rollout of Heartland Rock and Roll, Kent's highly anticipated third major-label album and the project that finally puts a name to the sound he's spent years building.

"Heartland Rock and Roll is my third major label album, and it's really the first time I've been able to finally name the sound I've been working towards my entire career," shared Kent. "These songs sound like where I'm from. The lyrics span from nostalgia, to honest regrets and gratitude for the simple things I value most in life. From top to bottom, this is me. Every artist wants to leave their mark in music... a way to say, 'I was here and I did it my way.' This feels like mine. This is heartland rock and roll."

Produced primarily by Austin Goodloe, with additional production from Jon Randall and Chris Farren, Heartland Rock and Roll captures golden-hour nostalgia, rugged honesty and the peace that comes with staying true to yourself. Across 16 tracks, Kent blends country, rock and soul into the signature sound that has defined his career.

The new collaboration follows a string of standout releases from the album, including his recent blockbuster single,"Rocky Mountain Low" featuring Koe Wetzel, fan favorite and current single, "Empty Words," which is already Top 50 and climbing on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart following early release due to overwhelming demand and millions of weekly streams, along with "Wannabe," and "Cigarette Burns."

Infusing Oklahoma roots with the untamed energy of a rebel rocker, Kent has built his career on doing things his own way. From dancehalls and dive bars in Bixby, Oklahoma to earning two No. 1 singles at country radio, more than 1 billion career streams and multiple RIAA certifications, Kent's rise has been steady, hard-earned and fueled by conviction.

"I've been fighting my differences for so long, but now it's like, 'Let's just use those,'" Kent explains. "I'm not trying to be anybody else. Bigger fades, 'better' lasts."

The forthcoming album follows Kent's breakout projects Blacktop and Black Bandana, which established the singer-songwriter as one of country music's most compelling and unconventional voices. To date, Kent has earned Platinum certification for "Something's Gonna Kill Me," Gold certification for "This Heart" and Triple-Platinum certification for his No. 1 breakthrough hit "Wild As Her."

Rolling Stone has praised the Oklahoman-native for giving "the region's signature sound a shot of mainstream sensibility," while CMT and the Opry NextStage program have recognized him as an artist to watch. He has toured alongside Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean, Parker McCollum, Jon Pardi and Koe Wetzel.

MOONSPELL Announce North American Tour as Special Guests of CRADLE OF FILTH

Fresh off the release of their brand-new, internationally acclaimed studio album Far From God via Napalm Records, Portuguese gothic metal pioneers MOONSPELL have announced their long-awaited return to North America this fall as special guests of extreme metal legends CRADLE OF FILTH. The extensive U.S. and Canadian run will also feature WORM GLOOM and BLACK SATELLITE, bringing one of the season's most compelling dark and extreme metal packages to stages across the continent.

Armed with songs from their latest offering Far From God alongside fan favorites and timeless classics, MOONSPELL will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of their landmark album Irreligious, delivering a set that spans the band's remarkable career.

Fernando Ribeiro comments:
"Moonspell and Cradle of Filth, came a long way… We first played together in 1994 and since then we've sharing stages all around the globe. It's also our return to the North America and we sure want to make it count! Cradle is on a creative and touring roll so we’ll try to get ourselves some of their charm and deliver you amazing nights to the sound of our very own Portugal brand of Gothic Metal. We’ll be promoting our new album Far from God, the 30th anniversary or Irreligious and will go deep into our history and legacy. See you under the spell!"

Local Ticket Presales start on Thursday, July 16 at 10am local time
Public On Sale: Friday, July 17 at 10am local time

Released on July 3, 2026 via Napalm Records, Far From God has quickly established itself as one of MOONSPELL's most celebrated works to date. The album earned several international cover stories and entered the charts at #3 in Portugal, #19 in Austria, #27 in Germany, #46 in Switzerland, and reached #22 on the French Rock & Metal Albums Charts, underscoring both the band's enduring international appeal and the overwhelming response from fans and critics alike.

Born out of five years of creative searching, doubt and ultimate rediscovery, Far From God marks a powerful return for the band. Far from playing it safe, MOONSPELL deliver a work that feels like a rebirth: darker, sharper and emotionally unfiltered. Rather than bending to modern trends, the band double down on identity and substance, presenting a bold and beautiful statement of Gothic Metal in its purest essence: dark, romantic, dramatic and unapologetically heavy.

Far from God – produced with Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Sólstafir, Ghost among many others) – shines like a black diamond, luminous yet shadowed in texture and colour, both musically and sonically. It reconnects with the darker spirit of MOONSPELL's classic era while sounding powerful and contemporary. Far From God is not nostalgia; it is a statement. A Gothic Metal hallelujah. MOONSPELL's 21st century Irreligious. It's not only a powerful reminder that MOONSPELL remain a defining force in the genre they helped shape, but an album that truly saves Gothic Metal from boredom and predictability.

Watch the Visualizer for "Sister Christian (2026)" Below:

Few bands have defined the sound of American melodic rock quite like NIGHT RANGER. From the soaring anthem of “Sister Christian” to the thunderous riffs of “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me," and fan favorites like “You Can Still) Rock in America” this album’s ‘Best Of’ collection captures the very essence of their decades-long career — now refreshed for 2026.

Featuring the classic hits alongside standout tracks from their more recent albums, this compilation spans the full spectrum of NIGHT RANGER’s signature sound: anthemic choruses, blazing guitar solos, and unforgettable melodies. Highlights include the power-pop perfection of “(You Can Still) Rock in America,” the heartfelt balladry of “When You Close Your Eyes,” and the cinematic sweep of “Four in the Morning.”

But the ‘Best Of’ is not just a look back. It also celebrates the band’s creative output over the last 20 years, spotlighting tracks like “Time of Our Lives,” “High Road,” “No Time to Lose,” “Somehow Someway,” and “Truth,” proving that NIGHT RANGER’s energy, songwriting, and musicianship have only grown stronger with time. These songs show that the band continues to innovate while staying true to the melodic rock roots that made them legendary.

The band — Jack Blades (bass and vocals), Kelly Keagy (drums and vocals), Brad Gillis(guitars), Eric Levy (keyboards), and Keri Kelli (guitars) — delivers every track with the energy and precision that have kept NIGHT RANGER at the forefront of rock for more than four decades.

This ‘Best Of” album also features two bonus tracks that make this collection of songs truly special: a fresh take on “Wasted Time” recorded live off the floor at Sweetwater Studios, also accompanied by an exclusive music video, and a festive live performance of “Feliz Navidad” that showcases the band’s playful side.

Perfectly timed ahead of their summer 2026 tour, this ‘Best Of’ album serves as both a definitive introduction for new fans and a must-have collection for longtime followers. Whether revisiting the classics or discovering the new 2026 remasters, NIGHT RANGER’s ‘Best Of’ is a celebration of enduring melodies, electrifying performances, and the unforgettable spirit of one of rock’s most iconic bands.

Ray Hawthorne Sends The Call To Voicemail On New Single "Hang Up"

Pop punk's most lovable liability, Ray Hawthorne, unravels on his latest single, "Hang Up", where self-awareness stops being productive and starts eating you alive. Trapped between the truth and or self-preservation, "Hang Up" follows the instinct to lie just enough to get through the day, wrapping Ray Hawthorne's ugliest thoughts into something undeniably catchy. Listen to the new single, "Hang Up" Below:

Turning the lens sharply inward, "Hang Up" abandons easy catharsis in favor of something more restless and unresolved. The track wrestles with identity, the comfort of self-sabotage, and the strange safety in never fully meaning what you say. Without a resolution, you're faced with the worst things you believe about yourself on repeat, the dial tone, and the growing suspicion that the line's been dead the whole time.

In an effort to provide insight into the track "Hang Up", Ray Hawthorne took a moment to make things significantly worse:

"When I was recording this song it became abundantly clear to me that it needed to start with a shit talking voicemail. I called a friend of mine that I met at the school bus stop when I was like nine years old and we’ve been inseparable ever since. This girl officiated my wedding, that’s how close we are. So anyway, I call her and I go “Yo pimp, can you shit talk me on a voice note real quick?” She laughed and said she’s literally always ready to talk shit on me. Thats a real friend right there. Like two minutes later I get hit with no less than four voice notes tearing me apart as a person. Shit that cuts deep in a way only your closest friends know how to get to you. It was awesome. We couldn’t even use everything because there was so much shit talk and not enough instrumental intro. But maybe one day I’ll drop the deleted scenes on a Hang Up DVD. Until then, I think the song is worth listening to just for Kristi’s performance alone.”

Renowned for his work in North Kingsley, the acclaimed project alongside Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down, Hawthorne initially captured hearts as the Heartbreak Hero with his inaugural solo release "Heartbreak Feels Good in a Place Like This". Building on his solo work, his debut record "Ray Hawthorne Sucks" further cemented his status as a bold new voice in pop punk, quickly amassing a devoted following and over 20 million streams across all streaming platforms for his magnetic charm and razor-sharp wit.

Blending heartbreak, sarcasm, and just the right amount of emotional stability, Ray Hawthorne leads with a messy kind of hope, turning emotional freefall into something you can scream along to. Where debut album and his firstborn, "Ray Hawthorne Sucks", leaned into an earnest DIY vulnerability, his latest record, "Ray Hawthorne Isn't Real", took a turn and tapped into the restless defiance of a secondborn. The 15 tracks helped embrace the chaos, laugh at the pain, and maybe, just maybe, allow us all to find a little redemption along the way.

Starting from the very real possibility that Ray Hawthorne is just a guy screaming into the ether (and somehow making it sound catchy), his catalog has become a refuge for anyone who's ever felt too loud, too sensitive, or too much. Loud, petty, and deeply cathartic, Ray Hawthorne is proudly one of the most unapologetically honest voices modern pop-punk.

Be sure to stay tuned for more Ray Hawthorne news coming very soon.

ABOUT RAY HAWTHORNE

Do you remember that episode of Degrassi where Ashley really wants Craig to tell her he loves her, but Craig gets all panicked and can’t tell her that he does? It causes so much drama in their relationship. She begins to question her feelings for him and because of that, he becomes seemingly unsure of his feelings for her. So, in an effort to quell the bad vibes, Craig writes a song that includes lyrics IMPLICITLY AND EXPLICITLY stating that he loves her. (Total banger by the way, the only song of his I like better is the one he sings at the battle of the bands after the two inevitably break up, it’s also about Ashley. I believe it’s called ‘What I Know’) Anyway, Craig was only able to admit he loved Ashley in song form, but you as the viewer are left wondering ‘Does he really love her, or was this just his solution to end the drama?’ Or, ’Is this truly the only way he can express himself because he’s kind of nervous about speaking his true feelings outside of the structured environment of a song?’. I tend to believe it’s a mixture of both. So what I’m trying to say is, this collection of songs is kind of like that. I always feel like I have so much to say but often feel a bit too vulnerable when discussing my actual feelings. So for the majority of my life, I’ve just written them into songs instead. These songs can be quite vulnerable even if they seem silly at times. So now you’re left to wonder... am I telling the truth or just trying to get rid of Ashley’s bad vibes?

Emptiness Premiere Nowhere Speaks

On their new album, Nowhere Speaks, experimental metal band Emptiness unlock an unheard dimension that’s governed by their own awe-inspiring logic.

Nowhere Speaks comes out tomorrow, Friday, July 17 on Season of Mist, but you can hear all ten absorbing songs today by listening to the full album stream below:

Pre-order & pre-save

https://orcd.co/emptinessnowherespeaks

Save for vocals, keyboards and additional effects, Emptiness performed Nowhere Speaks live in the studio, after four years of preparation, rehearsals and tests to ensure the music could be performed with the right weight and intention. This is not a production detail so much as a commitment to a specific kind of tension, the kind that does not survive being assembled in pieces. Emptiness’ previous album, Vide (2021), had no distortion, was sung entirely in French, and existed at the edge of silence; Nowhere Speaks moves in the opposite direction, and does so deliberately, opening exactly where Nothing But The Whole (2014) cut off mid-riff and closing by looping back to that album's opening riff.

From early in their career, EMPTINESS has worked this way: Jérémie Bézier handling production across all its dimensions, Olivier J.L.W. directing the visual work in its entirety. Sound and image conceived, shaped and finalized from within. Nowhere Speaks continues that closed circuit, as it always has been.

Nowhere Speaks is not a return. After the most introverted and isolated record of their career, the band opens outward into density and live intensity. The album, developed over an extended period of time, was composed by Jérémie Bézier and Olivier J.L.W., who oversee its production across both sonic and visual dimensions, bringing the work to completion as a unified whole, committed to tape live in the studio. The structural conceit of opening mid-riff from where Nothing But The Whole ended, and closing with that album's opening riff, is not nostalgia. It is the same logic that has always governed EMPTINESS: the cycle without a fixed point, beginning and ending inside each other, nothing and everything at the same time. The band has spent years demonstrating that they do not move in straight lines. Nowhere Speaks is a continuation from a point the listener was not meant to forget.

Line-up:
Jérémie Bezier — Vocals, Bass
Olivier J.L.W. — Guitars
Simon L. — Guitars
Dea Hydra — Synths
Laye Louhenapessy — Drums

Miscreance Reach Peak Tech-Thrash on New Single “Oracle’s Rift”

When they first crawled forth from Italy’s underground four years ago, Miscreance were likened to Death, Sadus, Voivod and other immortal beings from the alternate timeline that is the history of extreme metal. But on the band’s upcoming second album, they deliver a mind-altering experience that’s far from just another blast from the past.

Today, Miscreance are releasing the second advanced single from their upcoming new album. By venturing deep into an unrecognizable past, the band reach peak tech-thrash on “Oracle’s Rift”.

“Through a collective hallucination, a voyage through time led us to discover a moment in human history that was lost”, the band says about the far-out path they took to Reminiscence. “‘Oracle’s Rift’ takes us to where the skies end. Whirl to the dirge of judgement and walk the path to oblivion”.

Listen to “Oracle’s Rift” below:

Reminiscence comes out August 28, 2026 on Season of Mist

Pre-order & Pre-save

https://orcd.co/miscreancereminiscence

While recorded in Italy, Miscreance discovered the concept for Reminiscence by sifting through the sands of time. As the band chug, gallop and shred through steep shifts in tempo, “Oracle’s Rift” opens upon a hidden world where ancient cave dwellings house crystal dripstones and a shadowy all-knowing entity.

We are all very happy with how our first album turned out but we wanted to go bigger by tying Reminiscence to a specific concept”, guitarist Tommaso Cappelletti says.

Bassist Jean-Claude Rossignol explains further. “What we’ve created is a ‘lost album’, sent from an unknown civilization that’s both futuristic and extremely primitive. Through psychic powers and capabilities that transcend earthly comprehension, these primordial extraterrestrials have achieved total neural unity. Yet innate wickedness still lures inside of them, harboring the need for preys, scalps and lust”.

Old-school heshers will raise horns upon recognizing the mark of the greats on “Oracle’s Rift”. “We still play old-school tech-thrash", assures guitarist Andrea Granauro. But while faithful to both Atheist and Dark Angel as it is scrupulous to Coroner, Reminiscence isn’t an attempt to recall death metal’s glory days.

“You’ve never known the face of death / But now it becomes yours”, drummer Andrea Feltrin growls from deep within the many twisted passages of the album’s new single. As Miscreance tear through the final sprint of “Oracle’s Rift” before cleansing themselves in the fires of hell, the last thing you see – or hear – is death metal’s future mutating right before our eyes into an otherworldly fusion of whammy bar and bongo.

While recorded in Italy, Miscreance discovered the concept for Reminiscence by sifting through the sands of time. Along with splintering riffs and trippy tempo shifts, the band uncovered a hidden world where jungle-dwelling hunters and digeridoo coexist with strange tongues, telepathic surgeries and a burning celestial corpse. As imagined by Iranian artist Mona Shiraz, the album’s cover art is a modern interpretation of the kind of painting that was all the rage during the Stone Age. “What we’ve created is a ‘lost album’”, Rossignol says. “It comes from an unknown civilization that’s both futuristic and extremely primitive. Through psychic powers and capabilities that transcend earthly comprehension, these primordial extraterrestrials have achieved total neural unity. Yet innate wickedness still lures inside of them, harboring the need for preys, scalps and lust”. Climbing “The Moaning Hill” is not for the faint of heart, but the intricate twists along its perverse path lead to truly sacred pleasures.

“You’ve never known the face of death / But now it becomes yours”, Feltrin growls amidst the many peaks hidden within “Oracle’s Rift”. As the band tear through a torturous passage with ruthless precision, the last thing you see – or hear – is death metal’s future mutating right before our eyes.

With Reminiscence, Miscreance unlock a mind-altering experience of old-school technical death metal.

DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT Present Introspective New Single "Waiting For Rain"

The new single release "Waiting For Rain" sees DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT delve into the unpredictable nature of creativity and inspiration, and the frustration this brings. The band's forthcoming album, The World is a War Zone, is scheduled to arrive on September 18, 2026 via Widowbird Records.

"The early verses talk about feeling imprisoned and 'unanswered prayers'".Explains Duncan Evans. "As the song progresses the verses become more hopeful, speaking of how we can find inspiration from within. The chorus uses metaphors including 'rainfall', 'starlight' and 'heaven' to talk about how we can find the motivation we need from inside ourselves."

DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT's use of this imagery occurs throughout The World is a War Zone. In "Waiting For Rain", these themes direct attention inward portraying motivation as something to be cultivated rather than granted at will.

Musically, in the verse of "Waiting For Rain", the band borrows its steady-paced rhythms and dominant guitar hook from folk rock. Accompanied by vocal arrangements that are simple and stark, tension is built ahead of the chorus through movement between major and minor keys. "Waiting For Rain" opens into an intense and frantic chorus that sees discordant touches balance against the lead vocal melody.

The World is a War Zone marks the first full-length release under the name DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT. Formed in 2022 to reflect the emergence of a committed three-piece lineup, the band channels intense post-punk dynamics through the dark and primal undercurrents of folk music. Across nine tracks and 45 minutes, the album explores faith, psychological upheaval, suffering and renewal, navigating the internal battlefields that shape modern existence while holding fast to the possibility of redemption.

About DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT:

DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT is the collaborative evolution of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist DUNCAN EVANS, built around a committed three-piece lineup that transforms intimate compositions into expansive, emotionally charged performances. Formed under this name in 2022, the project reflects a shift from solo authorship toward a unified band dynamic, where arrangements are shaped collectively and the music breathes with the chemistry of a live unit.

At its core, the band fuses post-punk intensity with the dark and primal undercurrents of folk music. Hypnotic bass lines and powerful, nuanced drumming provide a muscular foundation for chiming guitar arpeggios, warm organ textures and sheets of atmospheric noise. The songs often move through shifting time signatures and dramatic dynamic contrasts, flowing from sparse, fragile passages into towering crescendos with a sense of purpose and emotional weight.

Lyrically, DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT explores faith, doubt, suffering, transcendence and the search for meaning in a fractured world. Religious imagery frequently appears, reframed as metaphor and directed inward rather than toward distant absolutes. The writing confronts catastrophe and psychological turmoil with unflinching honesty while holding onto the belief that renewal and redemption remain possible.

The result is a sound that feels sombre, mournful and fiercely committed, grounded in the traditions of post-punk and folk yet shaped by a distinctly personal vision.

DUNCAN EVANS AND THE WEEPING STARLIGHT is:

  • Duncan Evans – vocals, guitars, synths, software instruments

  • Ol Jessop – bass guitar

  • Kev Reid – drums

"Belligerence," the second single off The Ocean's upcoming 12th studio album Solaris is a heavy one: A song that makes reference to the band's older albums while imbuing it with a fresh sense of intensity. Listen below.

New vocalists Enrico Tiberi's vocals deliver a familiarity and energy that is sure to resonate with long-time fans of the band. Meanwhile, Lane Shi (Otay:Onii), who used to sing for the American band Elizabeth Colour Wheel, adds a new direction to The Ocean's sound, comprising elements and experience as a musician and performance artist who has appeared at events such as CTM, Biennale, or as part of Florentina Holzinger's polarizing opera Sancta. When Shi's and Tiberi's voices meet in the harmonized verses, it's moments of unprecedented beauty.

"Belligerence" draws parallels between the cosmic explorations of Tarkovsky's 1972 film Solaris — the inspiration behind the band's new album — and the explorative nature of artists and current-day political leaders. One of the last lines of the lyrics of "Subatlantic," the closing track of Holocene is "prepare for departure" — invoking the idea of a group of survivors embarking on a ship to take them away from a sinking mothership earth, to build a new place to live in space.

Solaris is an album that tells a story of cosmic escapism:  journey on that ship, which is essentially a celestial rescue boat escaping from a metaphorically sinking Mother Earth. The rescue boat can be imagined as a historic naval vessel, and the lyrics and episodes of the album  make reference to the real-life explorers of the past who set out to discover (back then) unknown continents and uncharted territories: Da Gama, Magellan, Sir Frances Drake, as well as the Polar explorers Amundsen, Scott, Rasmussen etc.

The stories of these historic journeys all share similar elements: Storms, disease, wreckage, power games, personal rivalries, egos, belligerence, mutiny, AND finally the quest for truth and justice. While most explorers initially had noble motives and were driven by a limitless spirit of exploration and discovery which was stronger than the many hardships suffered along the way, their legacy is often stained with cultural imperialism, genocide and tales of dictatorial leadership.

Far from being a glorification of male, white explorers who sought to colonize unknown worlds, or a romanticization of patriarchal constructs, Solaris draws a line between these extremely driven explorers and present-day political leaders. It poses questions of the shadowy darkness of being a "great" leader, it queries the very notion of a divine calling and the cost of following such an instinctive pull. It also traces the shape of these psychological patterns into the creative world and applies the same lines of enquiry to creative forces. Can exploration be redefined to be conceived as a process of silent observation, documentation and learning, rather than bequeathing our own ideas and values on others?

The album serves as a critique of the underlying motives and psychological dispositions of an explorative mindset and a thirst for power. It is an existential questioning, a probe of reason of the general purpose of technological advance, in the specific light of the destruction of our habitat. It's a dystopian outlook into a future where Earth has become uninhabitable – not despite, but as a direct consequence of human intelligence, as the foundation of technological advance.

The band comments, "'Belligerence' is a song about the culture of arguing and about the destructive force of contained anger and belligerence as a trait of character, often transfigured as an attribute of reason and a critical mind."

JAH WOBBLE & TIAN QIYI recast 'Strawberry Fields Forever', heralding 'Mystic Liverpool' album

Legendary bassist and producer Jah Wobble and Liverpool-based duo Tian Qiyipresent 'Strawberry Fields Forever', ushering in their new album 'Mystic Liverpool: The Beatles' Psychedelic Psongbook', out August 14th via Cherry Red Records and Wobble's label 30 Hertz. Previewed by the lead track 'Tomorrow Never Knows', this is a deeply personal reimagining of The Beatles’ psychedelic period, these songs are framed within a soundscape of Chinese, Mongolian and dub traditions.

These songs may have been penned by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, but Jah Wobble (aka John Wardle) and his sons John T Wardle and Charlie Wardle (aka Tian Qiyi) have made these songs uniquely their own. 'Mystic Liverpool' draws on Wobble’s signature dub bass, John T’s drums, Chinese percussion and yangqin, and Charlie’s erhu and vocals, while 'Strawberry Fields Forever' sees Charlie play morin khuur with the boys' mother Zi Lan Liao — a Royal Academy of Music–trained harpist and the most recognized gu-zheng performer worldwide — joining on gu-zheng.

Jah Wobble is a founding member of Public Image Ltd (PiL) and formed Invaders of the Heart in 1982. In his 50-year career, he has achieved chart success, a Mercury Music Prize nomination and a rich discography. He has collaborated with Can's Holger CzukayJaki LiebezeitU2's The Edge and producer François Kevorkian, in addition to Sinéad O’Connor, Massive Attack, Ginger Baker, Björk, Brian Eno, Pharoah Sanders and, most recently, Horace Andy on his 'Timeless Roots' album, Ken Boothe on his 'Old Fashioned Ways' album, and Jon Klein on the 'Automated Paradise' album.

Tian Qiyi takes their name from John T Wardle and Charlie Wardle's Chinese middle names, Tian Qi and Tian Yi. Meshing British, Chinese, Mongolian and dub traditions, their music bridges cultures to forge a sound that also weaves in post-punk and experimental production, their sound imbued with magnetic tension between ancient tradition and dub futurism, East and West, land and spirit.

"This is the one that started everything for me — the song that opened my psyche as a small boy in the East End. So it was always going to be the centrepiece of this record. It’s a family track in every sense with Charlie on erhu, morin khuur and vocals, John T on drums and yangqin, and Zi Lan on guzheng," says Jah Wobble.

"The dub sensibility runs right through it — there’s a lot of space in the mix, a lot of trust in the listener. I don’t think we’ve tried to compete with the original. What we’ve done, I hope, is honour the mystery of it — let it breathe in a slightly different room, with different instruments, and see what happens. It still feels like more than music to me."

Adrian Crowley & Bring Your Own Hammer resurrect the past on 'Quinn The Adventurer' single

Bring Your Own Hammer (BYOH) in partnership with Dimple Discs, continues its acclaimed Music and History Series with the release of "Quinn the Adventurer", a compelling new single performed by celebrated Irish songwriter Adrian Crowley that stands as another striking chapter in this series, bringing an extraordinary true story from Ireland's past vividly into the present through song.

This previews "From the Tombs", This barnstorming  21-song double album is a journey through the history of crime, law and order in Ireland and among the Irish Diaspora in the 19th century.

This is the second BYOH album following "My Grief on the Sea", a collection of songs about the sea, maritime voyages, and migration to and from Ireland during the 1800s, dedicated to Cathal Coughlan (Microdisney, Fatima Mansions), one of Ireland’s most revered artists, who was also involved in this project.

A musical portrait of one of the most remarkable true stories to emerge from the Irish diaspora, "Quinn the Adventurer" tells the extraordinary tale of James Quinn (a.k.a. Tim O'Brien), a young Irish Catholic who left Belfast in 1920 to embark on an astonishing journey across North and South America. By 1924, Quinn had arrived in Hollywood, where he worked as an extra in silent films alongside Charlie Chaplin.

Quinn's adventure took an unexpected turn when L.A. newspapers reported his arrest upon exhibiting a collection of Amazonian shrunken heads at the Long Beach Pike amusement park. Charged with the theft of the collection (valued at $25,000), Quinn was convicted of first-degree burglary and sentenced to San Quentin State Prison. Yet, thanks to the extraordinary twists of his life, he never served his sentence, instead skipping bail before resurfacing in Panama, on his way to Havana, Cuba.

Adrian Crowley's rich, unmistakable voice and masterful storytelling transform Quinn's remarkable journey into an evocative ballad that captures the spirit of adventure, reinvention and myth. The song invites listeners to imagine themselves crossing the Caribbean alongside Quinn, hearing first-hand the stories of a life lived on the edge of history.

One of Ireland's most distinctive musical voices, Crowley has spent more than two decades crafting music celebrated for its poetic depth, haunting narratives and resonant baritone. An award-winning songwriter, singer and composer, his most recent album "Measure of Joy", produced by the acclaimed John Parish, received widespread critical praise and radio support.

Bring Your Own Hammer is a masterclass in collaborative artistry that unites historical scholarship and contemporary composition. Curated by Dr. Richard Mc Mahon(lecturer in History at MIC, Limerick and currently a visiting fellow at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge), BYOH explores forms of invented history, rooted in historical sources from Ireland and overseas, with support from Dr. Niall Whelehan(senior lecturer at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, who has written widely on the history of modern Ireland and the Irish diaspora with a focus on the 19th century).

Bringing some of Ireland’s and Britain’s finest songwriters together with historians to create new and original song cycles based on historical sources and to interpret song material rooted in the history of 19th-century Ireland and of the Irish Diaspora. Not a band, nor an ensemble or even a collective, Bring Your Own Hammer is a faction - one that is armed with voices and instruments and dedicated to re-interpreting historical material in song form.

Other contributors to this landmark album include Sean O’Hagan (Microdisney, Stereolab, High Llamas), Audrey Riley, Cian Nugent, Linda Buckley, Tony Higgins, SJ McArdle, Michael Walsh, Lisa LambeLuke Haines (The Auteurs, Baader Meinhof), Miriam Ingram, Hugh Bunker (Fatima Mansions), Damian O'Neill (The Undertones), Brigid Mae Power, Anne Gilpin (Morton Valence),  Lavinia Blackwall (Trembling Bells), Inni-K, NQL. Kelsey Michael, Neil Farrell (Toasted Heretic) and Michael J. Sheehy.

As of July 10, "Quinn The Adventurer" is out on digital platforms, such as Apple Music, Spotify. and Bandcamp, where 'My Grief On The Sea' is also available on CD and imited Edition vinyl.

Goroda Release New Single + Video “Do Something Wrong” feat. Bobby Amaru of Saliva

Hard rock band GORODA have unleashed their new single and music video, "Do Something Wrong," featuring Bobby Amaru of Saliva, available now via Judge & Jury Records.

After GORODA opened for Saliva at a sold-out show earlier this year, the bands connected. The mutual respect and appreciation they developed led them to join forces and create “Do Something Wrong.”

“Our song 'Do Something Wrong' showcases our creative potential and highlights the genres in which we particularly excel in. The track features a striking musical break, as well as a collaboration with a band that has inspired us for many years. In many ways, the song is a scream, not so much for help, but rather as a response to the tense situations unfolding in the modern world. Through this piece, we aim to show that there is always another way to act…that things can be done differently,” shares the band.

Bobby Amaru adds, "When they sent me the song idea, the first thing that grabbed me was the message. From the lyrics alone, I knew they were writing for the world, not just for themselves. It carried a powerful message of unity and hope, and I felt connected to it right away. I also have a lot of respect for their work ethic and the passion they put into everything they do, so it was an easy yes for me."

Lyrically, "Do Something Wrong" challenges the notion that people should be forever defined by where they come from, the mistakes they've made, or the history they've inherited. Instead, the song emphasizes that what truly matters is where you stand today, what you stand for, and who you choose to stand beside. Through its message, GORODA encourages listeners to connect across differences, reject division, and embrace shared humanity. "Do Something Wrong" captures that spirit while introducing the band to an even broader audience through their collaboration with Bobby Amaru.

Musically, GORODA has carved out a sound all their own. Drawing from influences that span synth-wave, progressive jazz, classical music, and modern hard rock, the band blends technical musicianship with emotionally charged songwriting to create an unmistakable sonic identity. Their songs serve as vehicles for collective reflection, urging society to confront its mistakes and resist the corrupt officials and institutions of power.

“Do Something Wrong” feat. Bobby Amaru of Saliva is available now on all major streaming platforms!

hot mess Chase The Feeling Of A Neon Night On New Single "Take Me Home"

Milwaukee pop rock upstarts, hot mess, have today released their latest track, "Take Me Home", a neon lit, pulse racing anthem that marks a bold step for the rising band. Expanding on their knack for infectious hooks and raw-edged energy, hot mess lean into their cinematic, synth-driven production on "Take Me Home", all while holding tight to the grit that captures the impulsive rush of a late night drive or crowded dance floor. Fans can stream "Take Me Home" BELOW.

Built on shimmering, retro-futuristic synth layers and driven by a punk rock backbone, "Take Me Home" finds hot mess fusing 90s nostalgia with a distinct modern edge. At its core, the brand new track is a plea stripped of pretense, yearning for someone or something with total, unguarded intensity and embracing the kind of fleeting, all-in moments that feel like they might not come twice.

Speaking on the DNA of "Take Me Home", bassist Trevor Gallagher shares:

"This is the ultimate track to kick off our new era. The song blends 80’s Blade Runner esque synth layers, with Mötley Crue levels of swagger and punk rock energy. But the 80s are long gone. We needed some new heat for a new day. Something nostalgic enough to get you interested and cool enough to make you stick around for the whole party."

Only six songs into their career, hot mess are still in the earliest chapters of their story, yet the trajectory is unmistakable. Colliding a danceable pop rock with a streak of pop punk grit, the band deliver songs that feel instantly familiar and endlessly replayable. Hook heavy and high energy, hot mess are just rough enough around the edges to hint that something bigger is beginning to take shape.

Stay tuned for more news from hot mess soon.

BRAND NEW SONG FROM SYNTH POP LEGEND HOWARD JONES “STAND UP” HAS EXCLUSIVE WORLDWIDE PREMIERE

A brand new song from synth pop legend Howard Jones, “Stand Up,” has its exclusive worldwide premiere today via Billboard. The track is taken from Jones’ forthcoming album GLOBAL CITIZEN (due out in 2027) and is created on his newly-refurbished original Roland Jupiter-8 keyboard (the flagship synth of the early 80s). Of “Stand Up,” Howard Jones commented, “’Stand Up’ was born out of revisiting my original Jupiter-8 synthesiser which has just been repaired. I rediscovered how much I love its analogue sound. It’s my favourite synth and features on ‘What is Love?’, ‘New Song’, and ‘Things Can Only Get Better’. The key message of ‘Stand Up’ is that everyone is important and we must not let others shut our voices down…stand up and be counted.” Jones will perform the song for the first time in front of audiences on his “Things Can Only Get Better” package tour kicking off next week. “Stand Up” will be available for purchase beginning tomorrow here.

The “Things Can Only Get Better” North American tour is the feel-good 80s event of the summer. It features a bill curated and headlined by Jones himself with support from fellow British 80s greats Wang Chung, The English Beat and Modern English and will be hosted by SiriusXM’s Richard Blade. All four artists will perform full sets. Fans can expect to hear the biggest hits from the decade including “Things Can Only Get Better,” “What Is Love, “No One Is To Blame,” “Dance Hall Days,” “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” “Save It For Later,” “I Confess” and “I Melt With You”. The tour kicks off in Napa, CA at Blue Note Napa Sessions on Sunday, July 19th. Please see below for the complete itinerary. Click here to purchase tickets.

Electronic music pioneer Howard Jones has been a constant presence on the international touring scene for the past four decades, playing live in several different configurations including intimate solo shows and dates with his full high-tech band set-up. He first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983, with his very English songwriting and pioneering synthesizers with “New Song”. His first two albums HUMAN’S LIB and DREAM INTO ACTION were worldwide hits. HUMAN’S LIB reached #1 in 1984 in the UK and featured the hits “New Song,” and “What Is Love?” In 1985, Jones released the follow-up, DREAM INTO ACTION, which quickly became a Top Ten Platinum album in the United States and featured the smashes: “Things Can Only Get Better,” “Life In One Day,” “No One Is To Blame,” and “Like To Get To Know You Well.”

Howard Jones has sold upwards of 10 million albums worldwide and continues to make new music and tour the world. Jones has performed on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! As well as NBC’s top-rated morning and nighttime shows respectively, Today and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His ubiquitous hits can be heard in such high-profile television series and films such as “Stranger Things,” “Breaking Bad,” “Watchmen,” “The Carrie Diaries”, “Superstore” and “Bumblebee.”

German heavy metal legends ACCEPT release another single off of their upcoming new album masterpiece, Teutonic Titans 1976-2026, produced, mixed and mastered by the legendary Zeuss. They have teamed up with "Metal God" Rob Halford and guitar icon Matthias Jabs for an explosive new rendition of the genre classic, "Balls to the Wall." Serving as the second single from their massive 50th-anniversary celebratory album, Teutonic Titans 1976-2026, this track perfectly illustrates the band's half-century legacy. Dropping September 4 via Napalm Records, this tight and powerful release delivers a vital blow that proves ACCEPT are as relevant as ever. Featuring 19 timeless songs and more than 50 legendary guest artists, the album culminates in an unforgettable moment as the Metal God himself joins the band on the iconic anthem "Balls to the Wall." The all-star metal supergroup they gathered is another powerful look into the album celebrating both the band's extraordinary 50-year legacy and the heavy metal genre they helped shape itself.

Wolf Hoffmann about "Balls to the Wall":
"Rob is the Metal God. I don't need to say any more about him. Once we knew that he would do it, it was an obvious choice to give him ‘Balls to the Wall' because it's the best fit imaginable! I played all the rhythm guitars. Matthias Jabs from Scorpions played the solo, which is very cool and a huge honor, and it's Rex Brown on bass and Jason Bowld on drums. So that's a really cool package."

German heavy metal legends ACCEPT celebrate 50 years of pure power, bringing together the scene's A-list musicians for a landmark release. Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 stands as a definitive statement of the band's legacy, forged in steel and driven by unmistakable riffs. Arriving September 4, 2026, via Napalm Records, the album delivers some of the most iconic songs ever written in heavy music.

Led by guitarist Wolf Hoffmann, the longtime architect of ACCEPT's sound, the band is joined by a staggering 50 guests across 19 reimagined versions of their biggest tracks. Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 is ACCEPT's most ambitious and star-studded release to date, reaching far beyond the borders of their country of origin. Featuring the biggest names in heavy music paying tribute to the German icons, the record cements the band's standing on the global stage. This is more than an album; it is a manifesto of metal! Pre-orders are now available in various exclusive formats.

Wolf Hoffmann about Teutonic Titans 1976-2026:
"There is no better way to celebrate this 50-year anniversary than to have our musical peers, friends, and inspirations come together with us to record these classic ACCEPT songs, which I am honored and proud to share with the World. I hope everyone enjoys this very special record as much as we all enjoyed making it."

Get Your Copy Of Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 NOW.

By enlisting a "Who's Who" of metal, no two songs on Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 are the same. Every track features a different combination of vocals, guitars, bass, and drums, giving each classic a fresh edge.

Tobias Forge delivers a commanding performance on the track "Save Us" (I'm a Rebel, 1980), joined by Ray Luzier on drums. Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett, and Mikkey Dee tear through the speed metal classic "Fast As A Shark" (Restless and Wild, 1982). "Balls to the Wall" surges with the powerful range of Metal God Rob Halford, alongside the guitar work of Matthias Jabs, while the reimagined "Love Child" is elevated by Billy Corgan and David Ellefson (both songs from Balls to the Wall, 1983).

Other guest stars on ACCEPT's extraordinary release include Sebastian Bach, Gary Holt, Phil Demmel, Chuck Billy, Joe Lynn Turner, Jeff Scott Soto, John Bush, Frank Bello, John Norum, and Bumblefoot. Holissstik Bares Tortured Soul on New Single “Would You Take This Heart”

No matter what shape his muse takes, Tor-Helge Skei remains both one of the most consistent and surprising talents in extreme music. As a founding member of the critically acclaimed Manes and Lethe, the Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and producer has pushed the boundaries of metal and electronic music. Now, with his latest experiment, he’s expanding his vision like never before. While it spans an impressive range of genres and features many celebrated collaborators, Holissstik achieves something even greater than its individual accomplishments.

Today, Holissstik are releasing the second advanced single from Chapter 1: This Endless Solitude. While scarred by past misgivings, by bearing its tortured soul, “Would You Take This Heart” reveals the collective spirit that makes Skei and his collaborators such a unified force.

“Collaboration is the heart and soul of Holissstik”, Skei says. “‘Would You Take This Heart’ was originally a simple, slow, ambient instrumental. But, as is often the case, the song evolved, unplanned and uncontrolled. As more and more collaborators added their parts, it became heavier and heavier, darker and darker”.

Listen to “Would You Take This Heart” Below:

Chapter 1: This Endless Solitude comes out August 14, 2026 on Season of Mist.

Pre-order & Stream

Besides Hellem, Murphy and Parelius, the other members of Manes’ core and extended family who contribute to Holissstik include Atrox’s Eivind Fjøseide, ex-Atrox’s Tor-Arne Helgesen, The Third and the Mortal’s Rune Hoemsnes, Drontheim’s Tom Christian Engelsøy and Atrox’s Rune Folgerø. Holissstik also welcomed involvement from Kristoffer Oustad of Kristoffer Nyströms Orkester, Plague Machinery and formerly V:28; Christophe Denhez of Område and Ecr.Linf; rapper Pierre Ripka, or “K-rip”; Nik Košar of Kamra; Gabriel Trentini of Luce d’Inverno and Malaflame; rocker and engineering guru Stig Waltoft, a.k.a. “FluffyBunnyFeets”; and Trond Johansen. Not to mention, Buddhist monks were even persuaded to contribute chanting. While This Endless Solitude is mostly in English, it also features Pali, French, Polish and Italian.

Although the very nature of Holissstik demands that we expect the unexpected, the collective’s future certainly seems to guarantee obsidian horizons and torrential deluges of artistic truth. In other words, the project promises to persistently and ritualistically pummel us with devastating yet necessary, epic masterworks. Skei and his collaborators truly present the most immersive experiences possible and, in Manes language, offer a safe place in the unsafe; dive in with your hands bound, and be submerged within the imprisoning brilliance. Skei continues to participate in a range of outstanding groups, and yet Holissstik stands as the most unpredictable and, counterintuitive as it might sound, accessible undertaking in the history of his illustrious career.

UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP AND ONE4 RECORDS FORM JOINT PUBLISHING VENTURE ONE4 MUSIC

Universal Music Publishing Group Nashville and ONE4 Records announce the formation of their new joint publishing venture ONE4 Music, with Kentucky-born singer-songwriter Hunter Flynn as the initial signing.

“Troy (Tomlinson) and I share a deep respect for great songs and the people who write them, and our shared passion for developing great songwriters is at the core of ONE4 Music,” shares ONE4 Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Brian Wright. “Hunter is exactly the kind of songwriter we want to champion, a storyteller with a unique perspective and a gift for connecting with listeners. We’re proud to welcome him as our first signing.”

“ONE4 Music is built on a long-standing friendship and a shared belief in putting songwriters first,” shares Troy Tomlinson, UMPG Nashville’s Chairman and CEO. “What drew us to Hunter is the honesty in his writing. His foundation is strong, and we’re looking forward to supporting him as he continues to develop his voice as a songwriter.”

Blending folk, country, soul and rock into raw, reflective songs inspired by the landscapes and stories of his youth, Flynn has built a grassroots following through relentless touring and emotionally charged performances. In 2025, he was named Artist in Residence at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, a rare honor recognizing both his artistic integrity and cultural impact, and earlier this year he signed with Big Machine Records/Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment, in partnership with Appalachian Soul Music.

“I’m thrilled to be the first songwriter signed to ONE4 Music,” shares Flynn. “Both Brian and Troy have impacted this business so much, and to have them believe in my songwriting enough to ask me to be the initial signing is an absolute honor and a privilege.”

Flynn’s latest release “Robbing A Bank” is available now. Listen BELOW.

The Joy Thieves rip it with 'I'll Be Your Hammer' from 'Apocalypse Pending' feat. Chris Connelly - soundtracking the end of the world as we know it

Chicago-based industrial-rock-punk-experimental supergroup The Joy Thievespresents 'I’ll Be Your Hammer' from their full-length album 'Apocalypse Pending', released via Armalyte Industries. As with the album's lead singles 'No Anchor' and ‘The Wrong End of Your Rifle’, the accompanying video was created by Lumbra Productions.

A rallying cry to inspire people to stand up to fascism as it quickly spreads around the globe, the song’s title is a direct response to ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ by The Velvet Underground, and also alludes to the quote “Art is not a mirror, it’s a hammer” by the trailblazing Scottish documentarian John Grierson.

Many instantly recognize the iconic voice of Chris Connelly (Fini Tribe, Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Pigface), who shares, “While ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ by The Velvet Underground is an introspective plea from one lover to another, ‘I’ll Be Your Hammer’ is written from the perspective of an individual standing up to a fascist regime. The more you suppress our rights, the stronger I get”.

Highly influenced by the hip hop music production techniques of the 80’s and early 90’s, 'Apocalypse Pending' finds the Joy Thieves Productions team of Dan Milligan and James Scott redefining themselves by utilizing a sample-heavy production to forge elements of industrial, rock, experimental, punk, hip hop, metal, and freeform jazz. But instead of sampling the music of others, they draw inspiration in the talents of the band’s 80+ other members, resulting in an incendiary sound all their own.

While The Joy Thieves combine a wide array of musicians in order to craft their signature sound, 'Apocalypse Pending' stretches this concept to its limits, turning their entire song-creation process upside down. Instead of members contributing songs, as before, they meticulously gathered hundreds of unrelated recorded musical fragments from their fellow Joy Thieves, then painstakingly reconstructed brand new pieces of music from these fragments, ultimately creating a fresh and innovative sound.

'Apocalypse Pending' captures the zeitgeist with such precision while touching on the decay of the individual and exploring the isolation of our modern world. Seething with frustration and rage at one moment, and coolly delivering beat poetry the next, this album uses a densely layered, sonic collage as the perfect vehicle to deliver the band’s violently anti-fascist sentiments.

“’I’ll Be Your Hammer’ takes root in the soil laid down by our punk and industrial ancestors. More than any other song on the record, it deviates from the break beat inspired backbone and into somewhat more accessible, albeit aggressive and discordant territory. We crafted this song to relentlessly hit the listener in the face with punk rock attitude and providing a recklessly speeding vehicle for Chris Connelly’s brilliant, seething lyrics," says James Scott.

The Joy Thieves includes current, former, and touring members of Ministry, Stabbing Westward, The Rollins Band, Killing Joke, Pigface, RevCo, PIG, David Bowie, Blue October, Machines of Loving Grace, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Naked Raygun, Foetus, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Pegboy, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps and more.

The band crafts their cohesive signature sound from the contributions of its ever-growing 80+ roster of members, drawn from a diverse range of genres, including industrial, rock, punk, darkwave, hip hop and experimental music. Created by “all of us, and yet, none of us”, this is a sound all their own, their music aggressive, yet precise; confrontational, but refined; and harsh, yet melodic.

'Apocalypse Pending' is out now, available on Digipack CD and digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

Death Metal Act CURSED AWAKENING Explore Dissociation With "Dominion"

"Dominion" is the latest single release to land from CURSED AWAKENING and continues their narrative concept surrounding a fresh born soul navigating its new existence in a dystopian landscape. The track emerges early from the void ahead of the forthcoming full-length, Path Of A Soul, set to arrive later this year.

Thematically, "Dominion" delves into the darkness as the new soul contemplates ending its own life in order to escape the hellish realm in which it inhabits. However, it chooses to persevere and have 'dominion' over it's own future and ignore the path destiny has already built. Over the course of the track list, the fresh born soul stumbles through self-discovery and self-destruction.

"Dominion" brings a slow and burdensome pace with a dual-guitar harmony before erupting into a high-speed melodic, brutal onslaught. Drawing musical inspiration from AT THE GATES, CURSED AWAKENING play with dynamics and style across the track. A tremolo-picked black metal-esque bridge, intricate lead guitar solo and tremolo picking introduce further technical elements with a chaotic mood.

About CURSED AWAKENING

Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 2021, CURSED AWAKENING (formerly known as ARRHYTHMIA) delivers a thrashy death metal sound rooted in classic influences such as DEATH, BOLT THROWER, AT THE GATES, SLAYER, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, and SUFFOCATION. Their music combines old school riffing, melodic passages, neoclassical soloing, and introspective lyricism that goes beyond surface level extremity.

After reforming under the CURSED AWAKENING name in early 2026, the band solidified their creative identity and lineup. The current lineup consists of Abraham Verdin on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Michael Nystrom Bala on lead guitar, Brady Dukart on bass and backing vocals, and Ronnie James Keough on drums.

With 2024 bringing notable live performances in Chicago and beyond, CURSED AWAKENING continues to sharpen their sound and vision. The band's latest release of singles including "Past Newtonium" and "The Rift", alongside the newest "Rest In Chains", are further testament to the band's continuation and escalation, marking a darker and heavier chapter as the band moves toward their upcoming 2026 album.

CURSED AWAKENING is:

Abraham Verdin – Rhythm Guitar, Lead Vocals
Michael Nystrom Bala – Lead Guitar
Brady Dukart – Bass, Backing Vocals
Ronnie James Keough – Drums
