Built on shimmering, retro-futuristic synth layers and driven by a punk rock backbone, "Take Me Home" finds hot mess fusing 90s nostalgia with a distinct modern edge. At its core, the brand new track is a plea stripped of pretense, yearning for someone or something with total, unguarded intensity and embracing the kind of fleeting, all-in moments that feel like they might not come twice.
Speaking on the DNA of "Take Me Home", bassist Trevor Gallagher shares:
"This is the ultimate track to kick off our new era. The song blends 80’s Blade Runner esque synth layers, with Mötley Crue levels of swagger and punk rock energy. But the 80s are long gone. We needed some new heat for a new day. Something nostalgic enough to get you interested and cool enough to make you stick around for the whole party."
Only six songs into their career, hot mess are still in the earliest chapters of their story, yet the trajectory is unmistakable. Colliding a danceable pop rock with a streak of pop punk grit, the band deliver songs that feel instantly familiar and endlessly replayable. Hook heavy and high energy, hot mess are just rough enough around the edges to hint that something bigger is beginning to take shape.
