Savage Lands Purchase First Nature Reserve

Just a few months ago, 60,000 square feet of  rainforest along the Costa Rican coastline was going to get chopped down. Fortunately, the angry metalheads behind Savage Lands had other ideas.

Using royalties from their first-ever single, Dirk Verbeuren(Megadeth) and musician-turned-activist Sylvain Demercastel purchased an ecological easement that covers more than 90% of that endangered area. While Savage Lands doesn't own the property, not a single tree can be cut down thanks to their purchase.

Savage Lands is a 501 (c)3 non-profit that's co-operated by Dirk and Sylvain. Using donations, fundraising efforts and their own song royalties, they partner with other non-profits, scientists, engineers and metalheads to build nature sanctuaries, establish green zones and other land preservation projects.

Music fans can support Savage Lands just by listening to their music. 100% of all royalties go to supporting their reforestation efforts.

Watch the video for "The Last Howl", which features Andreas Kisser  (Sepultura) and John Tardy (Obituary).

https://youtu.be/yrnm6pNdBFI

Heavy metal tends to obsess over death and destruction. But thanks to Savage Lands, the genre's heaviest hitters are banging their heads together to protect the Costa Rican rain forest.

Named after their joint passion for savage heavy metal and wildlife preservation, Savage Lands was founded in 2022 by Dirk and Sylvain Demercastel, who's a Costa Rica resident.

"Hearing the chainsaw on a daily basis, because of a recent real estate fever destroying Costa Rica's ecosystem, we thought it was time to start a new type of action", says Sylvain. "We are reaching out to this great active community of metalheads."

Plenty of big names have signed on to join the army of trees that Savage Lands is growing across Costa Rica. Along with Obituary and Sepultura, members of Heilung, Gojira, Testament and Lord of the Lost have all pledged their support.

Season of Mist recently announced their partnership with Savage Lands. This marks the first time that  a record label has partnered and released music with a non-profit organization.

Fittingly, "The Last Howl" is a howling tribute to the howler monkey, an endangered species in Costa Rica. Verbeuren hammers out thunderous fills and pinging cymbals, while Sylvain rains down heavy pangs of distortion.

"The Last Howl" packs added fury thanks to some special guests. Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser rips off not one, but two acrobatic solos, and swamp king John Tardy (Obituary) unleashes his inner primate with some ferocious, spit-flinging growls.

"When Dirk first received the instrumental demo, he immediately had John Tardy in his mind for some vocals", Sylvain says. "He made the link between the howler monkey's scream and the more melodic chorus of the song.

"Less than 24 hours after reaching out to John through a common friend, we received a YES from Tardy, and knew it was going to be the start of a great adventure."

Artists occasionally support causes through donations to organizations. With SAVAGE LANDS, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren teamed up with his guitar-wielding friend Sylvain Demercastel to create their own US 501(c)3 non-profit.

Savage Lands raises money for reforestation & the creation of sanctuaries free of human destruction. Using their own royalties, donations and other fundraising efforts, the organization builds nature sanctuaries, establishes green zones and other land preservation projects. They partner with other non-profits, scientists and forest engineers, as well as Decibel Magazine and Season of Mist.

"If you want to make a difference, take action! Our greatest hope with Savage Lands is that it will inspire you to join us, and if you can, to start your own initiative to help preserve animals, forests, and our planet", says Dirk.

Reconciler Release New Album "Art For Our Sake"

RECONCILER SHARE NEW ALBUM ART FOR OUR SAKE  VIA SMARTPUNK RECORDSβ€” LISTEN

Reconciler is delivering true punk hits on their thoughtful, high-energy new album Art For Our Sake. The album features artwork hand-painted by vocalist and visual artist Joseph Lazzari, representing the band's hands-on approach to their music.

The band released three albums ahead of the release: Shots in The Dark, Never Fade Away, and Art For Our Sake.

"This isn't 'Art For Art's Sake.' It doesn't stand alone, devoid of intention, symbolism, opinion, or the essence of the human spirit. This record is bound to us. We made it as an extension of ourselves with the intention of connecting more deeply with our community. This is Art for Our Sake," says the band's vocalist Joseph Lazzari

Reconciler is a band from Atlanta, GA who first amplified in the summer of 2016. Harkening to a sound alternately Southeast and East Bay, they released their debut LP, Set Us Free, in February of 2019 to critical acclaim from punk and Americana outlets alike. The band spent 2019 playing often across the Southeast and East coast and announced their first European shows, slated for June 2020. Shortly After the first anniversary of Set Us Free, the world shut down and all plans were canceled indefinitely. Reconciler wouldn’t see another stage for 18 months despite releasing a split 7 inch with the legendary Gainesville outfit, Ship Thieves in January of 2021 and offering another new track on the Grace vinyl comp alongside many noteworthy acts including Hot Water Music, Samiam, and Catbite the following October. Reconciler has been hard at work rebuilding and refining its focus and is beyond ready to return with their sophomore album, Art For Our Sake, via Smartpunk Records. This 13 track LP stands as a testament to the band’s tenacity and work ethic and is certain to offer Reconciler’s strongest output to date.

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they’re a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' "Mutiny" and Gameface's "Good,” they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worldsβ€”putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

"Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has released timeless albums such as Less Than Jake’s Anthem, Nominee’s Lowlife, RIVALS’ Sad Looks Pretty on Me, Virginity's POPMORTEM, and melodic skate punkers The Swellers' My Everest."

Necrowretch Streaming New Album

Ten years ago, Necrowretch emerged with the revival of old school death metal. But these French sorcerers have always been branded with the mark of the beast. After pushing their death drive to the extreme on their first album for Season of Mist, the band are back and ready to release their biggest, boldest, most sophisticated and blackest album yet.

Swords of Dajjal comes out this Friday. But you can hear the whole album now by listening to the full album stream.

Listen: Below

Swords of Dajjal is out February 2, 2024.

Swords of Dajjal still lays the hammer. Lead single "Numidian Knowledge" churns through a corpse-grinding riff while beating you over the head with non-stop fills from new drummer Nicolas Destroyer. But even though their previous albums were devoted to Satan, this time around, Necrowretch sold their whole soul to the devil. Heck, this album isn't just named after the Islamic Antichrist. That's Dajjal on the cover, staring back at you with those cutting, soulless eyes.

"Ave Ingirozoglezim" Vlad erupts on "Dii Mauri", conjuring riffs that churn and whip with the fury of a sandstorm.

Clearly, Necrowretch still play blindingly fast. But Swords of Dajjal is just as deadly when shifted into a more brooding gear. Where the band used to spend only a few days in the recording studio, they spent three years on this album, sharpening everything from Vlad's signature shriek all the way down to the guitar tones. A molten crunch of reverb opens a fiery pit to hell on "Kasar Al-Kufar", which erupts into a solo that's so memorable, it'll haunt your nightmares.

Vae Victis !

"Debout les morts!" Necrowretch says. "Today marks the release of Swords of Dajjal, our blackest opus to date. It took us many years to craft this unholy manifest, but it will take only seconds to bring you eternal doom ! Listen to it at full volume, stream, share, get it from your local death dealer and enjoy every damn part before you rot in Hell!

Praise for Necrowretch

"Dynamic blackened death metal...embraces melody and blends it with pure savagery" - Teeth of the Divine

"A raw, primitive and relentless sound with absolutely manical percussion and possessed singer Vlad's beastial screams" - Kerrang!

"They charge blastbeats and hurl guitars and the kitchen sink at listeners, and that is almost always certain to attract fans of kvtl metal" - Echoes and Dust

"Speedy, razor-sharp display of blackened death metal mayhem that is as entertaining on a tenth listen as it is on the first" - Heavy Blog is Heavy.

"Filled with enough hate, putrefaction and sorrow to fill a deep inferno of black, deathly abyss" - V13

"They approach their ghoulish task with considerably more gusto (and know-how) than many of their peers" - Pitchfork

Now entering their fifteenth year as a band, France’s Necrowretchare about to open the most ambitious chapter of their career with Swords Of Dajjal, their three-years-in-the-making fifth album.

Initially the sole work of multi-instrument and vision leader Vlad, the band was - for better and for worse - lumped in the β€˜old school deathmetal revival’ of the early 10’s. Yet while their debut Putrid Death Sorcery did indeed  bear all the usual suspects of said genre, it nevertheless already had that extra, raw-as-fuck and just plain vicious element that really set them apart from the rest of the pack. Conforming to the norm was never in question and instead of selling out or trying to slow things down, as true misfits as they are, they went the exact opposite direction, first with 2015’sWith Serpents Scourge, only to be vigorously confirmed by its furiousfollow-up, and their first for Season Of Mist, 2017’s Satanic Slavery. To the point where once the touring cycle was over for the latter, Vlad himself felt he had explored this direction as far as he could have and that changes were on the horizon.

β€œOn Satanic Slavery we on purpose took things as far as we could, as our goal was to deliver the most bestial album possible. But once we achieved that goal, I knew we had to take a slightly different if still as uncompromised direction.” Incidentally, that’s when Wenceslas Carrieu from Cadaveric FUMES entered the picture, first as a momentary live session on bass. But when second stringer Kev Desecrator vowed to amicably part way with the band to focus on DESTRΓ–YER 666, he switched to six-strings and proved to be the valuable songwriting partner Vlad had been looking for since thedeparture of the band original bass player Amphycion in 2015. β€œHeimmediately came up with lots of ideas and thanks to him, we now have a whole new dynamic: a bit like Sepultura had back in the days in between Max Cavalera and Andreas Kisser, with me focusing now on my vocals and playing rhythm guitars while Wenceslas takes care of all the solos, the starting riffs and the off-the-map bits.

With their fourth album, and first with Wencelas, The Ones From Hell was only one month old when Necrowretch was about to tour Europe with both Kampfar and Taake for three weeks. A tour bus was booked, the set was well-rehearsed, everything was ready and then... disaster struck. β€œSix days before we were due to play our first show, the whole thing was cancelled. Then COVID hit us and the world was basically shut down. We were numbfor a couple of days but soon realized that the best way to bounce back was to move forward so we instantly started working on new songs.” The result is Swords Of Dajjal by far, their biggest, boldest and most ambitious production ever.

β€œWe spent no less than three years working on the songs, demoeing them and fine-tuning the details and rehearsing them as a three-piece and six weeks in the studio with Francis Caste (Hangman's Chair, REGARDE LES HOMMES TOMBER, Svart Crown etc.). Prior to that, we used to be a pure product of the underground, with albums done in just a couple of days whom were never 100% satisfied with in the end as we had to rush everything. We’re still very underground, mind you. But this time around, we knew we had to give it all, no matter what. So we started by changing our gear, our sound and our tuning. And once we entered the studio, we forinstance spent a whole day just testing different amps just to get the right sound and crunch we were looking for. I even took some singing lessons to gain more depth and power. In a way, it almost feels like a whole new band.”

The whole record was written on purpose mostly on acoustic twelve-string guitars (β€œthe idea was that if it sounds good and catchy that way, it’d be even better with distortion”) and as a three-piece, β€œsomething we hadn’t done in a long time” with their new drummer Nicolas Ferrero, not exactly a newcomer as he’s been playing on and off live with them since 2018. The result is, according to Vlad, β€œour most black metal record, with splashes of death metal here and there. Whereas on the previous album all tempos were pushed to the extreme, there’s far more variety here to be found. It also gave us free reins to reach a more mystical, Biblical if you will vibe” fed by his experience living in Turkey in the late 10’s. β€œWe choose to focus onthe Dajjal character, basically the antichrist in the Muslim religion. The Coran says that he’ll appear as a false prophet only to bring doom to this world, with an army of demons coming from the east.” Represented on the cover of the album with his double edged sword and bathed in the same kind of reddish and orangey mesmerizing lights one can experience when the sun sets on wind-beaten deserts, all eight songs on the album are prophecies, past and future, where Dajjal plays the leading role.

Now completed on bass by R. Cadaver (former Cadaveric Fumes vocalist) who officially joined once the recording was done after playing as a live session member for the last two years, and armed with their biggest, most complex and intense album of their career, Necrowretch are about to yield their sword of destruction and exterminate everything in sight.

Bassist, Maddox Messer, shared insights into the inspiration behind the song:
β€œOne more Time was written about relationships that had regrettably moved on. Personally, we felt that it was about trying to fix things too late. As the years went by we realized it had so much more meaning. Dealing with our own personal losses, wishing to see loved ones again, and wanting to be the person that they could rely on. One more time hits a heavy note of regret and longing for a second Chance to change things for the better.. Realizing the importance of fixing things now instead of putting them off.”

Messer's ability to encapsulate raw emotion within their music has resonated with audiences, making their releases highly anticipated events. The band's commitment to authenticity and relatable storytelling continues to solidify their place within the rock music landscape.

Molly D’Ago Releases New Single "Someone Just Like You"

Soaring music sensation Molly D'Ago is set to enchant audiences with her latest single, "Someone Just Like You." Written by Molly D'Ago and Myles Clayborne(Music), and Molly D'Ago and Alex Rhodes (Lyrics), the track promises a harmonious blend of soulful melodies and meaningful lyrics.

Producer Myles Clayborne and Executive Producer Pepper Gomez brought this musical masterpiece to life, ensuring a seamless fusion of sound that is bound to resonate with listeners. The impeccable vocal engineering is credited to Guido Falivene, while the mastering was expertly handled by Justin Shturtz of Sterling Sound.

"The song 'Someone Just Like You' explores the journey of transcending the mirroring tendencies of a narcissist. It conveys the realization that despite all of your efforts, pleasing them is simply impossible because of their own low self-esteem. The lyrics suggest that true happiness for such individuals lies in being with someone who shares similar qualities," says Molly.

The single is now available for streaming and download.

WATCH "SOMEONE JUST LIKE YOU" (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO): below

Meet the extraordinary musician whose journey seamlessly weaves between the realms of rock and law, Molly D’Ago. Her saga began in the gritty yet electrifying world of a garage band called Pacinello during her high school years. The unbridled passion of Pacinello propelled them on a nationwide tour, setting the stage for a musical odyssey.

Transitioning from garage anthems to the grand stages, Molly D’Ago emerged as a hired-gun guitar player, gracing audiences with her remarkable talent. Collaborations with iconic bands like The All-American Rejects, Pop Evil, Frankie Ballard, and more solidified her presence in the dynamic landscape of the music industry.

In a harmonious twist of fate, Molly D’Ago discovered her vocal prowess, adding a new dimension to her artistry. The year 2022 marked a significant milestone as she made her mark on the US Rock Charts, securing the 38th position with the hauntingly beautiful single, "End of the World."

The narrative took an unexpected turn as Molly D’Agostino pursued a legal education at Syracuse University College of Law while navigating the demanding life of a touring musician. Juggling the complexities of law and music, she emerged not only as a powerhouse on stage but also as a licensed attorney in New York.

The crescendo of Molly's story reached its zenith when she inked a record deal with Wake Up! Music Rocks. In 2023, the world witnessed her ascend to the pinnacle of success, claiming the #1 spot on the International DRT Chart with the evocative single, "My Sweet Burning Heart." The global recognition affirmed her as a force to be reckoned with, seamlessly blending legal acumen with musical brilliance.

Now, as Molly unleashes her latest creation, "Someone Just Like You," anticipation and excitement ripple through the air. This new chapter in her musical saga promises to captivate hearts and minds, solidifying her status as an artist who transcends boundaries and defies expectations.

Molly D’Ago’s story is not merely a melody; it's a symphony of resilience, talent, and the pursuit of passion in multiple arenas. Her journey underscores the limitless possibilities that unfold when artistry and intellect converge in perfect harmony.

Jordyn Shellhart and Charlie Worsham Team Up on "A Nice Thing To Do," Out Now

Warner Music Nashville singer/songwriter Jordyn Shellhart is starting 2024 on a positive note with ode to kindness, β€œA Nice Thing to Do” featuring Charlie Worsham. Listen to β€œA Nice This to Do”  below.

β€œI’ve looked up to Charlie since before he even released any solo music. He’s an absolutely world class artist,” shared Shellhart β€œAnd he’s taking me out on tour this year, which is the NICEST, nice thing to do. So having him on this song really is a dream come true.”

The airy and affirming track was written by Shellhart and Cameron Jaymes and produced by Jaymes. It finds the Wyoming native and her frequent collaborator ,Worsham, calling for a little kindness because it is always β€œa nice thing to do.”

You should be careful who you treat like that at a party
What if your castle ever crumbles under you?
You never know, someday they might be somebody
And if not it’s still not a nice thing to do

The new music follows a breakout 2023for Shellhart who was named a member of 2024’s CMT Listen Up Class following the release of her cozy Christmas EP, Cross-Legged By The Fireplace, and debut album, Primrose, which garnered critical acclaim on multiple year-end best of lists.

β€œβ€˜Ethereal country-pop’ is the best way to describe the debut album from Jordyn Shellhart, who writes with vulnerability and potent detail on Primrose,” lauded Stereogum, naming the 12-track project one of the β€œBest Country Albums of 2023,” while noting it’s β€œa perfect album for those who dreamt of an acoustic twangier version of Midnights.”

β€œA collection that offers immense career promise,” boasted Billboard upon its release, with Country Now declaring it β€œa work of pure artistry that will take listeners on a unique musical journey,” while Nashville Lifestyles observes Shellhart β€œjumps the line of intriguing new songsmiths with her debut…evocative in style and voice.”

Next month Shellhart will hit the road with Worsham opening for a run of dates beginning Feb. 15, in Birmingham, AL. Known for her emotive storytelling and soulful melodies, β€œA Nice Thing to Do” is the first of new music to be released this year. For the latest news and upcoming tour dates visit, jordynshellhart.com and follow along @JordynShellhart on FacebookInstagramX and TikTok

About Jordyn Shellhart:
Like a coming-of-age novel chronicling the heroine's passage from childhood to womanhood, singer/songwriter Jordyn Shellhart's 12-track Primrose ventures from joyful to introspective, providing intimate yet vivid glimpses into the Wyoming-native's most formative moments and milestones. Although her first full album for Warner Music Nashville, its refinement and sophistication stems from more than a decade as a signed writer, earning cuts by Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Cody Johnson and Don Williams. Whether asking "Who Are You Mad At," crooning over not the loss of a lover but of their mother in "Tell Your Mother I'm Fine" or the retrospective "Maybe Someday You'll Have A Daughter," Shellhart's Primrose is the first chapter in what is sure to be a storied career.

Statement From Morgan Wallen

I’m writing y’all from a duck hunting trip because I want to fill you in on something happening tonight.

Back in 2014, I went to Florida to try my hand at making original music & songwriting for the first time. This led to a recording deal with a local investor & an artist management deal that I deeply regret. Unfortunately, I signed both deals without any legal representation.

We made 13 songs. Some were ok, most were terrible as I was just learning how to write in general & figuring it all out. I was not the only collaborator, so many of these songs were not my idea nor to my standards. We deemed 5 worthy-enough to make the Stand Alone EP which includes a fan-favorite, β€œSpin You Around.”

Tonight, those colleagues I parted ways with almost 10 years ago plan to release a β€œ10th Anniversary” edition of Stand Alone against my wishes & include 8 unreleased songs, distributing it with the assistance of my former managers. For months I’ve been exploring every avenue possible to acquire the rights to this old music & keep the quality of my catalog consistent with songs I choose to release & believe in.

It’s gross, greedy & an example of how the dark side of the music business can suck the soul out of artists.

I want you to know this is NOT my new music & I don’t want to see this happen to anyone else. I cringe when I listen to these songs & I’m concerned my fans may mistakenly believe this is a new release by me. I begin recording my next project at the end of February. I’m feeling inspired creatively & super excited to make more music I’m proud of.

In response:
1. I re-recorded β€œSpin You Around (1/24)” this week in Nashville & it comes out TONIGHT.
Thank you Joey Moi & Bryan Sutton.  I did the artwork myself while in the woods duck hunting. Hope you like it, lol.

2. I am donating $100k from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals For The Arts (VLPA) program. I hope young aspiring musicians read this story & know they should never have to give up their creative freedoms for an opportunity in this business.

3. Trust me, when new music is ready, you’ll hear it directly from me.

SINGER, SONGWRITER AND ACTRESS, MAYA J, UNLEASHES SULTRY R&B-POP VIBES WITH LATEST SINGLE β€œCHILLS”

Maya J, the multi-talented artist, actor, songwriter, and musician, has released her latest single, "Chills." This melodic R&B-pop gem, enriched with jazz elements, showcases Maya J's unique songwriting prowess and smooth, sensual vocals. Written and co-produced by Maya J herself, "Chills" is a testament to her artistic evolution, bringing a fresh twist to her signature style. Maya J's background as a violinist and lifetime music study greatly contributes to

her harmonious compositions, while her eloquence shines through in her unique lyricism.

Executive produced by Glitter Rain Entertainment, Maya J's RIAA-member record label that she has been operating since 2014, "Chills" came to life under the guidance of engineering producer Jacob McCaslin. The collaboration emerged just months after their initial meeting, resulting in a track that stands out in the contemporary music landscape. "Chills" draws comparisons to the works of acclaimed artists such as Sabrina Claudio, SZA, Lana Del Rey, and Billie Eilish. The song is poised to find a home on playlists curated for night drives, date nights, relaxation, or even hot yoga and pilates classes.

Maya Jenkins has consistently demonstrated her commitment to excellence in her craft, both in music and acting. A product of a New York/Los Angeles acting conservatory and training at renowned LA studios, Maya J's dedication to her artistry is evident in every project she undertakes. Her musical journey began with the debut single "Symptoms of You" in 2016, followed by a series of successful releases. Maya J's artistic achievements include the well-received "Come Find Me" and "Like You," with the latter showcasing her skills not only as a songwriter but also as a director and co-producer of the accompanying music video. Maya J's creative contributions extend beyond her solo career; her song "Tell Me" was selected for the season 2 promotional trailer of ABC Family’s hit series, β€œFamous in Love” in 2018.

2 Shadows Unleash Blistering New Track "Mad God"

Vancouver based metal band 2 Shadows are heading into the New Year in high gear with their blistering new track "Mad God'' on Rock Shop Records.  The song starts with a brief acoustic interlude before bludgeoning the listener with crushing down-tuned guitars and staccato snare sounds, underpinned by  thunderous bass drums and piercingly intense vocals.  The song laments how people blindly follow the rules to get ahead in life – often without ever really knowing why they are doing it.

2 Shadows Glen Bridden says β€œWhen Tryst and I wrote the song Mad God we were inspired by the Phil Tippett film with the same name. We were blown away by the apocalyptic dystopian setting and the delivery of the horror elements in the movie and it got us excited to try exploring those vibes musically. Our song β€œMad God” ended up being the easiest and most fluid song to write and we didn't make many changes after the first demo.

He continues β€œWhen it came to the lyrics of the song I focused on the dissonance visible in everyday urban life, like how lonely you can feel in a densely populated area and how common it is for people to numb themselves with prescription drugs and the like.  It would seem people feel more comfortable β€˜under an influence’ and that’s where the lyric β€œoverdosed on sanity” comes from and where the dystopian horror begins to show itself and come full circle”.

2 Shadows are veteran road warriors and are planning a tour for later this year.   The band plans to release more new music in 2024.

About 2 Shadows:

2 Shadows has been together since 2015 and have been steadily honing their craft through continuous touring. They draw inspiration from legendary acts like Slipknot and Rammstein, while also being influenced by contemporary acts such as Motionless In White, Asking Alexandria, and Avenged Sevenfold.  2 Shadows have gained serious momentum over the last year by going viral on all social media platforms - especially TikTok, where they have over 390k followers, and on Facebook – where they have 320,000 followers.  The band has an impressive 100 Million content views across all their networks. 2 Shadows have amassed 5 million career audio streams and more than 2 million combined video views on Youtube.

Floya Share "Lights Out" Video

FLOYA are dropping the video for "Lights Out," and it's special release for them, as it was the first song they ever wrote and recorded.

Watch the video below.

"We were jamming somewhere in Norway when we stumbled upon the main riff of the song. Phil went straight into the recording booth and laid down some sketches, it was very natural. I feel like 'Lights Out' is an homage to our musical roots; we were very different people when we wrote that one. Lyrically, it’s probably the darkest one we did, but the topic it tackles is so important. It's an amazing feeling to now release it after all this time β€” it's very humbling," says Marv Wilder.

"Lights Out" shines as a standout track on Floya's electrifying debut album, Yume, out March 8 through Arising Empire.

Yume is available as CD, limited colored vinyl variants, together with unique merch options at the Arising Empire Online Shop.

Th album was recorded and produced by Chris Kempe (Embark Audio), and mastered by Robin Schmidt.

Caught between the stomping beats and airy synths of the EDM world and the overall feel of a modern rock band, FLOYA are a truly special duo.

Hailing from Germany, Marv Wilder and Phil Bayer found common ground by talking about their childhood influences, namely Peter Gabriel, U2, and Sting. With the vision in mind to fuse a fresh pop rock sound with the aesthetics of EDM and world music, the pair set out to showcase what's rarely found on todays music market.

After the successful launch of "The Hymn," the song was featured in an official AFL game between Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs on Australian Television, marking quite the achievement for an act that’s been public for only a few months.

FLOYA also received praise in the form of airplay by Kerrang! Radio (UK) and Radio Contact (BE).

VIPASSI Streaming New Album

VIPASSI have been carefully unlocking a mystery. The Australian quartet's new album, Lightless, explores all sorts of twisted phenomena, from the hooded ritual of "Phainesthai", the distorted maze of "Labyrinthine Hex" to the star-gazing mastery on "Morningstar".

Lightless comes out this Friday, January 26. But you can get a sneak peek at the whole album today by visiting our YouTube channel.

Listen to the full album below.

Pre-order: https://shop.season-of-mist.com/list/vipassi-lightless

Early praise for Lightless:

"Vipassi have managed to take the prior achievements of their debut and interlaced them with fresh ideas and approaches that show a massive development in their sound" - Distorted Sound (9/10)

"What makes Lightless truly stand out is its genuine sense of personality...a chemistry that cannot be imitated or manufactured. I'll take that kind of real vision and know-how over noodle salad any day of the week" - Metal Sucks (4/5)

"A superb follow-up...a fine example of why Vipassi is among the best up-and-coming instrumental progressive metal acts" - Metal Injection (8/10)

As a purely instrumental band, Vipassi are blessed with a telepathic chemistry. No wonder they can spin epic stories without uttering a word.

Watch as they weave as one through a full band play through of "Labyrinthine Hex", then conjure spirits deep in the dark, twisted woods of "Phainesthai" before venturing off into the mind-bending space caves of "Morningstar".

In Buddhist tradition, VIPASSI is the twenty-second of the twenty-eight Buddhas. Etymologically, the name has its roots in clear vision – a being of extreme contemplation. The band of the same name is a world-spnning instrumental extreme metal band from the lands of Australia, France and the UK.

With members of acts such as Ne Obliviscaris, Black Lava, Hadal Maw & Virvum, their work on the 2017 debut album β€˜Sunyata’, which has a loose signification of Emptiness or Void, set the grounds for a technically impressive and fully instrumental exploration of sonic textures in what can best be described as – a divine experience reaching the depths of the human soul.

Originally made as a project between Daniel Presland (Drums) and Ben Boyle (Guitars) as far back as 2007 to explore new concepts and sounds not currently engaged by their projects at the time, the band has since then grown and expanded to an international connection of like-minded musicians and virtuosos with Arran McSporran (Fretless Bass) and Benjamin Baret (Guitars).

Further exploring their labyrinthine textures and layers of sounds, Vipassi is back with their sophomore album β€˜Lightless’. The album shifts from the realm of the void towards a clash of light and dark – and sees the band expanding into even more technical and experimental realms, pushing the limits of their own ideas and abilities to heights unimagined when the band began all those years ago.

KILL THE THRILL Streaming New Album

KILL THE THRILL are blessed with an elusive vision. Over the past 30 years, the French duo have been dreaming up an abrasive-but-hypnotic blend of industrial rock, post-punk and dark wave.

Their new album, Autophagie, immerses audiences in a cinematic fever dream that would give David Lynch nightmares. The title track swarms with feedback-laden guitars, while "Capitan" crests into an industrial-sized groove. "They come back from afar / With nothing", Chris Dick sings on "A la  dΓ©rive", his voice raw with bitterness, straining each note to a breaking point.

Autophagiecomes out this Friday, January 26, 2024 on Season of Mist.

Praise for Kill The Thrill and Autophagie

"A great post-punk album that doesn't shy away from musical experiments...haunting, exciting and beautifully arranged" -Power Metal

"Too sparse for metal, too morbid for new wave, too humanized for industrial, and definitely too alternative for alternative rock" -All Music

"Relentlessly heavy...overwhelmingly atmospheric" -Sputnik Music

KILL THE THRILL was formed in 1989 and is composed of Nicolas Dick on vocals, guitar and lap-steel, Marylin Tognolli on bass for its founding members. Stemming from the French noisy wave of the early 90's, their music is often described as dark, abrasive and hypnotic, full of epic moments, with a dense and rich sound mixing elements of industrial rock, post-punk, dark new wave and experimental metal.

Forging an atmosphere as dreamy as chaotic, with multiple layers and atmospheres, sometimes ambient, sometimes more hostile. Kill The Thrill interlaces orchestrated soundscapes, enriched with innumerable layers and arrangements, playing amongst the rifts to create a unique and personal work, so far from everything and so close to everyone.

The group released its first album in 1993 entitled DIG, followed by an EP: PIT (on the labels Noise Product CH and Semetary), and at that time had three musicians, already working with samples and playing with blocks of sound.

In 1996, the trio became a duo with a second album entitled LOW (Noise Product CH), recorded, mixed and produced by Nicolas Dick. The artist ErikM intervened on the interludes with sound tracks which frame each title of the group. The album is hailed by the press as a perfect balance between melody and distortion.

Over the years, tracks have appeared on a large number of compilations: La Famille (Noise Product Belgium), Serial Killer Vol 1 (Roadrunner), Brutale Generation (Semetary / WMD), Ah Quelle Belle journΓ©e (Amanita records), A Wild State Of Noise And Disorder (Pandemonium), 5 Years Of Fury (Noise Product CH), Tribute To Godflesh (Nihilistic H. Rec.), Fear Drop 14 : "Coal Fire" The Cure masterpiece Pornography, Dark 80's (Atropine Records) etc.

Frederic De Benedetti joined the band on guitar and it's again as a trio that the album 203 BARRIERS was released by Season Of Mist in 2001, the album again entirely recorded and produced by Nicolas Dick. With this new opus Kill The Thrill ’s music has evolved towards a daring, disturbing and more extreme sound. With international promotion and distribution, signing with the label Season Of Mist allowed an opportunity of further development for the band.

Kill The Thrill has shared stages all over Europe with other artists such as Godflesh, Killing Joke, Zeni Geva, Isis, Young Gods, Treponem Pal, EinstΓΌrzende Neubauten, La Muerte, Neurosis, Jesu, Jim Rose Circus, GrΓΆtus, Dillinger, Escape Plan, DΓ€lek, etc.

The album TELLURIQUE released in 2005 (Season Of Mist, recorded and produced by Nicolas) combines a cold and clinical industrial/metal sound with a new wave sensibility, bathed in a heavily melancholic atmosphere, but leaning more in the direction of noisy, distorted shoegazing mists than the fires of metal. The album is described by the press as an organic journey in which you must immerse yourself to feel its harshness and beauty.

This exacerbated trio asserts itself as a true entity in symbiosis, with an unfiltered and no holds barred take on music and sound. Anger has no origin, and when the events from which it arises, physical bodies and soundwaves, can no longer contain patience and intelligibility, the sounds become the violence.

But with Kill The Thrill , violence is always suggested more than frontally expressed, it remains hemmed in and contained.

In 2015 the band reissued its first under the title 1989 (Atypeek Records), a digital-only album intended as a nod to Kill The Thrill ’s origins.

During a few years of silence put to good use on the personal and musical projects of the members of the group, Kill The Thrill took the time to polish a new version which should be released at the beginning of 2024.

The band has released a limited number of albums in its career so far, but is resistant to all erosion, the secret of its longevity residing in the timelessness of the music.

An atypical band whose music is enough to itself ; a discrete band for imposing music ; a group which reveals next to nothing but pursues its sonic quest, outside of common standards. A living ambiguity: cold and hot, the calm and the storm.

"A long flow of orgasmic lava, a wave of shimmering noises that carries away everything in its path. One immerses oneself entirely in its bewitching atmospheres. We leave for a long descent on a carpet of guitars, their richness is inside, under this heap of notes and noises, under this black and disturbing mass. It's up to you to understand what you can during a journey that is sublime".

To Kill the Shiver reaches for the ineffable.

Sleep Token released their third studio album, Take Me Back To Eden, via Spinefarm, last May. Listen here.  The artist also enjoyed a completely sold-out North American tour this past fall. Additionally, Revolver is celebrating Sleep Token as its Artist of the Year with a special collector's edition. Get it here.

ABOUT SLEEP TOKEN:
2023 was the year of Sleep Token and 2024 is looking to be much the same.

The album has generated 400 million streams, whilst standout single "The Summoning" has generated 150 million streams alone, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the #1 song spot on a host of international Spotify viral charts, as well as being selected as a "YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise," featuring on YouTube's homepage, viewed by millions of people every day.

The unprecedented accolades keep rolling in, between the fact that ST has never played a headline show in the UK that didn't sell out, "Aqua Regia" picking up consistent airplay on the Radio One "Future Sounds" show hosted by Clara Amfo, plus huge pop star Demi Lovato sharing Sleep Token's music with her 153 million Instagram followers, Sleep Token consistently smash boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place.

And even though Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press (out of necessity, not ego or gimmick), media can't help but write about the phenomenon, reporting on the band's every move; NME note, "Sleep Token offer their fans an entire world to immerse themselves in if they so wish. It's a place of escapism, and the foundation of a huge fan community that's dedicated to studying the band's creativity. While they have the same fervor as any other fandom, there's still a notable difference." Elsewhere, Metal Hammer called them "the most exciting band in metal right now."

ABOUT EMPIRE STATE BASTARD
Having recently released their widely celebrated debut album Rivers of Heresy, Empire State Bastard is led by Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and Mike Vennart (Biffy Clyro live guitarist and solo artist, ex-Oceansize), and features the legendary Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Testament, Mr. Bungle) on drums, with Naomi Macleod (Bitch Falcon) rounding out the live line-up on bass.  The concept for Empire State Bastard emerged when Neil and Vennart would spend downtime on tour sitting at the back of their bus sharing the heaviest, most avant-garde and confrontational music they could find.  Now, a decade on from its conception, the project has finally come to fruition with the release of Rivers of Heresy, a collection of songs which adventurously probes slamming hardcore in the vein of Siege; the frenetic, visceral thrash of Slayer; the claustrophobic sludge of Melvins; the freeform vocal dexterity of Mike Patton; and the gargantuan stoner riffs of Sleep. Empire State Bastard is a band that’s rooted in the tradition of metal’s forefathers but informed by more recent waves of leftfield aggression.

ALT-POP ARTIST, DELA KAY UNLEASHES β€œIDWTAY” The Ultimate 'Situationship' Anthem

Alt-Pop sensation Dela Kay is ringing in the new year with the drop of her latest single, "IDWTAY" (I don’t wanna think about

you) – an anthem delving into the complexities of modern dating. The track explores the relatable concept of a "situationship," where one decides to move forward with a new connection, yet the lingering thoughts of a past flame persist. It's that powerful girl anthem about moving on but also still leaning into your toxic tendencies, wanting the old person to feel a little jealous while you do it. With a mix of fun, sexiness, and upbeat aggression, "IDWTAY" is poised to become the go-to song for those navigating the delicate balance between moving on and embracing lingering feelings.

Dela Kay, who hails from the vibrant music scene of Nashville, TN, describes "IDWTAY" as one of her personal favorites among the new songs she plans to release in 2024. Drawing inspiration from artists such as The Maine, Maggie Lindemann, Paramore, and Avril Lavigne, Dela Kay continues to embrace her Alternative roots while crafting music that is both authentic and edgy. The track follows the success of her previous single, "Let You Down," which has amassed over 125K streams and secured a spot on Shazam's Best New Music Apple Playlist. "Let You Down" explored the intricate dynamics of modern relationships, showcasing Dela Kay's ability to craft songs that resonate with listeners on a deep, emotional level.

Dela Kay, who identifies as a songwriter first and foremost, believes that this phase of her career is her most authentic to date. With a commitment to releasing a series of singles throughout 2024, she is determined to leave a lasting impression and make her mark on the music industry with her unique voice and perspective. "I hope to make a lasting impression, making my artistic mark with authenticity and edginess. I think women have a voice and I intend to use mine and don’t plan on stopping until I have everyone’s attention," passionately expresses Dela Kay.

MORE INFO:
Hailing from Nashville, TN, music was always a big part of the household for Dela Kay. Seeing the emotional connection a personal song could make fueled her desire to write and to be a storyteller. She studied musical theater at The Chicago College of Performing Arts at the Theatre Conservatory of Roosevelt University, where she grew creatively in many ways, but ultimately felt a strong call back to her roots of songwriting. β€œI will always love life in the theater. But there is something so much more satisfying to me when I create something uniquely mine, from my heart, using my own words and music. I draw from the scars of broken relationships just as easily as the joy and celebration of being young and free.”

In 2014, her electro-pop style began to emerge through a collaboration with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and producer, Femke Weidema; which eventually led to her first electro-pop/European-infused single release, β€œ9 out of 10,” as Dela Kay in 2016. Named by Earmilk as an artist who was gifted β€œwith a rich, distinctive vocal style” for her 2018 release of β€œMake You Mine,” Dela Kay went on to continue releasing singles and garnering hundreds of thousands of streams. In 2019 Dela Kay released β€œAll My Love” through Sony Music,

which ended up charting 49 on the top 150 global artist charts for Digital Radio Tracker as well as in the top ten for the Top Independent Charts. The release of β€œThink About You” shortly followed, which ended up becoming Dela’s highest-streamed song to date with almost 800k streams and counting. After a brief hiatus, Dela Kay marked her return by debuting a new, more alternative sound in 2021 with the release of β€œThe Worst Part,” via Wonderland Magazine.

Encouraged by the positive feedback, Dela Kay delved deeper into this new sound with the release of "Old News," a collaboration with Ryan Dulude and Rikki Jo Randall. Closing out 2022, Dela Kay touched hearts with "Daughter," a poignant song dedicated to her father. This track marked a departure from her usual upbeat style, embracing a more folk-driven alternative sound, rich in vulnerability and cinematic storytelling. With the release of β€œLet You Down” in 2023, Dela Kay began her new journey with a wave of fresh content continuing throughout 2024. Looking ahead, Dela Kay plans to embark on a West Coast tour in the spring and summer, bringing her music and unique brand of storytelling to audiences far and wide

NEW STUDIO ALBUM UNBROKEN OUT JANUARY 26

"Coming or Going" is the second single taken from New Model Army's new studio album Unbroken, out January 26.

PRE-ORDER UNBROKEN HERE.

Unbroken was written and recorded over quite a long period of time. With the process interrupted by both the delayed 40th anniversary shows and the Sinfonia live orchestral project, this is a very New Model Army album, full of guitars but with the emphasis, as ever, on the rhythmic power of bass and drums, as the band continue to push the boundaries of their signature sound while staying true to their heart. The subjects and moods are variable, creating a diverse collection of tracks which touch on topics ranging from social and political commentary to deeply personal reflections.

"Not much hits me as genuine these days, but New Model Army hits it for me. Wonderfully recorded and produced by themselves, mixing this album felt like a gift. Here’s hoping lots of people feel the same way about listening to it," states Tchad Blake.

War All the Time arrived in September 2003. It was described as "sensitive as a teardrop, but hitting with the impact of a two-by-four across the jaw" by Entertainment Weekly and "as intense enough to resonate outside their corner of the underground" by Rolling Stone. Elsewhere, Blender highlighted how the band and album "combine emo's nervous-breakdown emotionalism and hardcore punk's aggression." The album is equally beloved by the band's diehard legion of fans and is considered a benchmark of the '00s.
