The Pretty Wild Release New Track "Button Eyes" and Official Video via Sumerian Records

Rising metaphysical metalcore powerhouse The Pretty Wild have unleashed their new track "Button Eyes" and the official music video via their new label home, Sumerian Records. The sister duo previously released their smash hit "sLeepwALkeR"which has already surpassed 5.6 million Spotify streams, with the official video already amassing 381k views on YouTube. Most recently, The Pretty Wild joined forces with Kittie and Diamante on the 'Queen Of The Ring' official movie soundtrack for their haunting reimagination of Metallica's legendary classic, "The Unforgiven", available on all streaming platforms at the link here. Speaking about "Button Eyes", the band shares:

"This song is for anyone who’s ever felt objectified, used or controlled. It’s about the moment you consciously break free from manipulation and you sever ties with that toxicity for good. We used dolls as a vessel for this theme, mostly as a way to blend playful melodies and imagery in a way that lightens a heavy conversation topic." - jules

"'Button Eyes' explores the theme of disillusionment with life and the process of reclaiming personal power. The song cheekily pokes at the painful process of breaking free from the misleading beliefs that held us back and stepping into our truth. Essentially empowering ourselves by rejecting disempowering narratives that were imposed upon us. Personally, I love this one because it comes across fun, poppy, and superficial, but the irony in it, is that it’s the juxtaposition of all that at its core." -jyl

UK Metal Legends RAGING SPEEDHORN's New Album 'Night Wolf' is Out NOW via Spinefarm

British metal pioneers, RAGING SPEEDHORN, have released their brand-new studio album 'Night Wolf' via Spinefarm

RAGING SPEEDHORN drummer Gordon Morison comments:

“We’ve been blown away by the responses to both ‘Night Wolf’ and ‘Every Night’s Alright For Fighting’, and seeing the excitement from the fans ahead of today has been amazing. Making 'Night Wolf' was a joy, and we’re excited to hit the road today with Hit The Lights! If you haven’t grabbed a ticket yes, don’t miss out. These dates are going to be pure fucking chaos!”

Watch the Video for "Every Night's Alright For Fighting"

'Night Wolf' is an album that perfectly captures the magic RAGING SPEEDHORN have been concocting over their 25-year plus career. Flitting between sludge, crushing doom and high-energy dirt-fuelled rock ‘n’ roll riffs, the sextet have matured like a fine wine and honed their craft to a new level.

Featuring ten tracks of ferocious, riff-centred metal that’s packed with strength, power, and, ultimately, song-driven groove, RAGING SPEEDHORN are once again ready to provide an antidote to mediocrity and pedestrian radio-rock.

Recorded with Russ Russell (Napalm Death, At The Gates, Dimmu Borgir) at Parlour Studios in Kettering, UK, the relationship between RAGING SPEEDHORN and Russell has been honed over many years – he has produced the Pledge Music-released 'Lost Ritual' and'Hard To Kill'.

The band’s drummer, Gordon Morrison, comments:

Russ really captures what we want to achieve and understands the band. We always work well together and, frankly, I wouldn’t want to record with anyone else at this stage.”

'Night Wolf' is the first album to feature new guitarist Daf Williams who joins founding members Frank Regan (vocals), Gordon Morison (drums) and mainstays Jim Palmer(guitar), Andy Gilmour (bass – who also plays with UK post-hardcore legends Hundred Reasons) and second vocalist Dan Cook. This reinvigorated line-up sees RAGING SPEEDHORN not only capture the spirit of the band’s DNA but push their own musical boundaries and swagger into new uncharted territories.

Order 'Night Wolf' HERE

Since the release of their eponymous debut in 2000, RAGING SPEEDHORN have enjoyed a career built on stunning, unhinged, raucous live shows and albums to boot. They’ve played countless worldwide shows and festivals, sharing stages with Slipknot, Clutch, Biohazard, Enter Shikari, Skindred, earthtone9 and many more.

Notably, RAGING SPEEDHORN opened up the infamous 2001 UK Ozzfest at Milton Keynes Bowl, playing in front of 50,000 metalheads; they received Kerrang! Award nominations; spent a night behind bars in Spain while on tour with Biohazard; and caused havoc during the 2002 Kerrang! Awards in London, resulting in Placebo’s Brian Molko joining in on the action and flipping over the band’s alcohol-laden table.

'Hard To Kill' was released during the global pandemic on the band’s own label Red Weed Records. Navigating the difficulties that ensued during that time, 'Hard To Kill' was RSH’s biggest release in years and made numerous UK chart appearances: #11 Rock & Indie Chart, #7 Indie Breakers Chart, #26 indie charts, and #95 physical charts – the first time the band had chart success since 2001 – all without the backing of a record label!

Having started in their original hometown of Corby, while its members are now spread across the Midlands and South Wales, the teenage spirit of rebellion and kicking against the pricks still lies in the heart of RAGING SPEEDHORN.

With 'Night Wolf' the band is as ferocious and ready to rumble as ever.

“I love being in this band, it's the only thing I've done for this long and I love playing music with these guys,” states Morison. “Why would I want to stop? It's in your blood, you can't stop. We were kids when we started, and it seems like I blinked and I'm still here doing this. We have a new album, a new deal, and if you think about it, there's not many bands from when we first started that are still going like we are.”

Morison continued:

“It's about chemistry and not giving a fuck and just believing in what you want to do. Honestly, it's been the best being in a band with these guys, it's just so easy. Every now and then there's a bit of a bicker, but there's never ever any arguments between us anymore, which I think is good. We all just get on really well, we love writing, we love hanging out, it just feels great. I wouldn't want to be in a band with anyone else, and that's half the battle there, isn't it?”

As the saying goes, you can’t keep a good thing down.

RAGING SPEEDHORN are:

Frank Regan – vocals

Daniel Cook – vocals

James Palmer – guitar

Daf Williams – guitar

Andy Gilmour – bass

Gordon Morison – drums

Wolves at the Gate Announce New Album "Wasteland" + Share "Parasite" Video

Wolves at the Gate are back with a brand new album. They will release Wasteland on May 30 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here

The band has shared the video for the first single "Parasite." Watch it below.

The song is masterful mix of synths, screams, and stompy breakdowns, so basically everything you want in a metalcore song!

"Throughout the whole album, we are exploring different concepts through the lens of a broader narrative and story," says vocalist/guitarist Steve Cobucci. "With 'Parasite,' we wanted to write a song that explores the relationship between a parasite and its host. It's such a powerful metaphor for the way that we all relate with our own weaknesses, tendencies, and sin."

He continues, "There's a sense in which we hate the way that we continue to go back down the same dark paths, but we only walk those paths because there is something we want and something that we are getting out of it. We can say that we hate it as much as we want, but there is something enticing about it. It is a song essentially about the insanity of sin. The very thing that we crave is the very thing that hates us and wants to kill us. Chasing after sin is a bottomless pit. Always promising but never satisfying."

He finishes, "The chorus line captures that idea saying, 'And I died a million deaths to live.' That's the picture that I see of my own sinfulness. I chose to dive into things that I knew would result in a million deaths thinking that it would give me life and regardless of how many times I saw how shallow and empty it was, I still chased after it. This song is a lament of a reality that I know all too well. And so I wanted to write a song that would shine a bright light on it for me to remember that sin is an empty promise that leaves you hollow in the end. The same way a parasite feeds on you until you have no life left to give."

Wolves At The Gate have quietly and naturally evolved since their emergence out of the Midwest in 2008. Their vision unfolded across albums such as Captors [2012], VxV [2014], Types & Shadows [2016], Eclipse [2019], and Eulogies [2022]. Blabbermouth rated the latter "9.0-out-of-10.0," while mxdwn summed it up as "powerfully moving." Along the way, the group tallied tens of millions of streams fueled by the likes of "Counterfeit," "Deadman," "Lowborn," "Peace That Starts The War," and more. Not to mention, they've performed alongside everyone from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Red to Fit For A King, August Burns Red, and Born Of Osiris. In 2024, a core idea screamed out to guitarist Steve Cobucci, shaping the creative direction of the band's next evolution. It slowly, but surely seeped into the DNA of the music and his words.

"As I was working on the album and especially the lyrics, I began to realize that the Wasteland was a metaphor for a frame of mind that I don't want to live in, but a world I feel myself drawn back into over and over again," Cobucci reveals. "I hate it. It's a world of empty promises. It's a mirage. A counterfeit."

The musicians carefully pieced together what would become Wasteland. Cobucci co-produced the 13-track body of work with Josh Gilbert of Spiritbox, while the band recorded in New Jersey, San Diego, and Los Angeles. This time around, they added multiple dimensions to their signature sound, layering intriguing interludes and electronic overtures into the framework.

Chase Rice Shares "Live From Chief's" EP: Eric Church & George Strait Covers Plus Unreleased Original "Cowboy Goodbye"

Country music maverick Chase Rice has surprised fans with today's release of a special three-song EP, Live From Chief's. Captured during his recent acoustic underplay shows at Chief's on Broadway on Feb. 13 and 14 – which American Songwriter cited as emblematic of the fact that "Chase Rice didn't change, he just got brave enough to be himself" – the project highlights Rice's raw, unfiltered artistry in a way that fans rarely get to experience at his larger arena shows. Listen HERE.

The project opens with two standout covers: fellow Asheville-area native Eric Church’s “Carolina,” one of the first songs Rice was inspired to learn to play on guitar during his college years at UNC, and George Strait’s iconic rodeo hit “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” which itself inspired the EP’s third song.

The previously unreleased “Cowboy Goodbye,” a yearning song co-written by Rice with Oscar Charles and Foy Vance during a recent post-Red Rocks retreat in Colorado, serves as a pivotal moment for his next studio album – the oft-teased Eldora expected later this year. The first song written for the highly anticipated follow up to recent independent success Go Down Singin’, “Cowboy Goodbye” reflects on the sacrifices that come with the pursuit of music and the longing for something more:

“I love my life; I love my job; I love what I get to do for a living – but I’ve given up a lot to do it,” Rice shares in the live recording’s introduction, reflecting on the deeply personal parallels between the life of a touring musician and that of a true cowboy. “I don’t have a family yet – that’s the goal – but that’s one of the main things that I’ve given up to do this thing… Since I was a little kid, I always wore the cowboy boots, I always wore the cowboy hat and the cowboy way of life was always just kind of in my mind.”

Co-produced by Rice and Charles, the EP features an intimate, stripped-down sound with Charles on drums and background vocals, Jonathan Sherwood on bass and Tori Allen on fiddle. Recorded at two back-to-back sold-out shows at Chief’s just a few weeks ago, these performances were part of a unique two-night residency where Rice celebrated his artistic evolution:

Feb. 13: A Night of I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go to Hell – A deep dive into the storytelling and raw emotion of Rice’sacclaimed album praised for its authenticity and connection to his roots, hailed by Billboard as “one of 2023’s most unexpected artistic pivots” and Forbes as “a full-circle, career defining journey for Rice, as both a singer and a songwriter.”

Feb. 14: A Night of Go Down Singin’ – A showcase of Rice’s recent independent release, praised by Rolling Stone as “an excellent collection of poignant, often anthemic country,” which finds him “trying to do what creative people are supposed to: grow and change,” while Cowboys & Indians proclaimed that “maturity and clarity are the reality on Chase Rice's new album…what is sure to be one of 2024’s most well-received country albums of the year.”

With Live From Chief’s available across all streaming platforms now, fans get a rare, up-close listen to the stripped-down magic that made these shows unforgettable, while also catching a first glimpse of what’s to come with Eldora.

About Chase Rice
With more than 2.6 million albums sold and over 2.8 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With independent album Go Down Singin’ available everywhere now as the follow-up to the critically acclaimed I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, and both brought together on the songwriter-forward Fireside Sessions, Rice’s sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life; from emotional reckoning to an admiration of the American West. The new music serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, which featured his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” and the Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.”

This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, freer; unbeholden and uninhibited. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the 3x Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Platinum-certified Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; Platinum-certified “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Double Platinum “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to guesting on sold-out stadium shows with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice served as direct support on Dierks Bentley’s 2024 Gravel & Gold Tour and consistently sells out venues on his own headlining tours across the U.S. and beyond, with the Go Down Singin’ International Tour underway now.

Ian Munsick’s Full Circle Headlining Cheyenne Frontier Days Set, July 18, 2025

Wyoming native Ian Munsick crossed off a bucket list venue when he sold-out his Red Rocks Amphitheatre debut last June, but for the singer hailing from the Rocky Mountain region, his sights were already set on making his next dream a reality: headlining Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) in his home state.

After a group of fans started a Facebook page petitioning for Munsick to headline CFD in response to his Red Rocks show, the page caught the eye of Wyoming paper Cowboy State Daily, who published a story sharing the fans’ pleas. The promoters are now yielding to the demand, setting Munsick as a headliner for this year’s CFD on July 18, 2025. Tickets go on-sale Thursday, March 13 at 9 a.m. MT at CFDRodeo.com.

“The zenith of my musical ambition has always been to headline Cheyenne Frontier Days. No event symbolizes Wyoming or the west better than the Daddy of Em All,” remarks Munsick. “That’s where my music belongs because that’s where my inspiration comes from. The great honor of being the first Wyoming native to headline CFD is most definitely the highlight of my touring career and quite possibly my musical career as a whole… truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. It will be a night I will never forget.”

Munsick’s CFD headlining set will follow the April 18 release of his upcoming third studio album, Eagle Feather. Eagle Feather expands on the concepts of the land, people, culture and stories that inspire himas depicted in his 2023 release, White Buffalo. While the white buffalo represents prosperity and rebirth, the eagle feather is inspired by the native symbol representing honor, strength and wisdom, and serves as a continuation of his sophomore project by highlighting Munsick’s personal growth through life experiences and lessons learned that have shaped him into who he is.

Produced by Munsick, Jared Conrad and Jeremy Spillman, Eagle Feather includes duets with Lainey Wilson and Flatland Cavalry lead singer Cleto Cordero, with songwriter credits by fellow singer/songwriters Caitlyn Smith and Stephen Wilson Jr. as well as two rare outside cuts in “Drink Around” and “Horses Not Hearts.”

Munsick is currently headlining his spring 2025 Horses Are Faster Tour featuring a rotating lineup of support including Colby Acuff, Avery Anna, Chayce Beckham, Bayker Blankenship, Kashus Culpepper, Hudson Westbrook and Jake Worthington. In 2024, Munsick opened on select dates of Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again Tour and supported Morgan Wallen on select dates of his record-setting One Night At A Time Tour.

ELUVEITIE - RELEASE NEW SINGLE 'AWEN'

As the release of ELUVEITIEs new album ÀNV approaches the band release today their uplifting new single 'Awen'. The track sees the bands more traditional instrumentation at the forefront, shining a spot light on the Celtic roots buried within ELUVEITIEs core.
The new album Ànv, will be released on April 25th, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records. After the headliner tour was a great success, ELUVEITIE returns to the stage in October 2025, together with ARCH ENEMY, AMORPHIS and GATECREEPER. All dates are listed below.

ELUVEITIE frontman Chrigel Glanzmann comments: "AWEN is musically perhaps one of the album's catchiest songs... sticking our necks out on pretty modern metal music, at the same time with a chorus coming in with that very traditional, mystically melancholic, solemn kind of 'grandeur', much like older Eluveitie songs such as OF FIRE, WIND & WISDOM, SLANIA'S SONG or ALESIA. Lyrically it time-travels some fairly bold lines off that several thousand years old mythological text ANV is based on, into the modern age and makes them speak directly to us and our modern civilizations! We're really happy with and proud of it and we hope you'll like it as much as we do!"

Restless Mosaic releases ‘Quality Mirrors’ album, a sonic shift past the darkness

West Coast artist Restless Mosaic presents his third album 'Quality Mirrors', and 11-track offering that is saturated with surprise, following up his 2022 album 'Made By Thawing Ice'.  The haunting and hypnotic focus track 'Circling the Canopies' was inspired by electronic music legends Delerium. The album's lead track 'Lost Within This Time' features Anji Bee of iconic dreampop duo Lovespirals.

Restless Mosaic is the project of Brandon Isleib, an electronic songmaker based in Everett, WA, named for the idea of a mosaic's intricacy and structure, and how the parts and the whole relate in a way that they only make sense when they come together. Combining sounds and genres, usually considered disparate, he connects them into something greater than any one of them.

"The album title compares my low self-identity to being farsighted: I need others to hold up mirrors at a distance so that, in the reflections, I see what I am. My initial emotional literacy was taught not by people I knew but by artists like Peter Gabriel, Natalie Merchant, Tasmin Archer, and Kirsty Hawkshaw, and I clutch their work talismanically," says Brandon Isleib.

"This third Restless Mosaic album is a check-in on my emotional literacy, with mirrors held up by my amazing collaborators to see a fuller picture. It has more lyrics than I’d written in the past decade, and even though I’m using a lot of the same vocabulary, it’s coming from a much realer person. Topics like how power differentials between parents and children change with age ('7000 Sparks'), or my fears that therapists are teaching me how to be the best them instead of the best me ('The Emotion Right in Front of Me'), aren’t undone by intellectualization like they might have been when I was younger."

Restless Mosaic takes a principled approach to arrangement and textures, his lyrics are as vivid as they are polysyllabic. The music on this album is grounded - sonic adventures exploring a sense of restlessness. A setting in which listeners can expect the unexpected, this music is a boon for your neuroplasticity. With his music having been streamed over 3 million times via YouTube over the years, Restless Mosaic ow moves into the foreground with his own voice and a variety of collaborators.

This album showcases the artists' diversity, from a Eurodance track that soundtrack your shopping experience to the shoegaze influences next to P-Funk-tinged chaos presided over by rapper Declaime of Aloe Blacc, Madlib, and Flying Lotus (he is also executive producer of Georgia Anne Muldrow's Grammy-nominated 'Overload'). New York singer-songwriter Rose Alaimo contributes vocals on a track and even mastering engineer Vincent Villuis (best known for his ambient work as Aes Dana, his psychill label Ultimae Records and work with Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow) is also in on the fun.

Brandon Isleib adds, "With this album, my soul finally got to speak without coughing on the dust of my past. It still speaks idiosyncratically, but now it’s intelligible. Maybe because of that dusting off, the album might sound darker than my conscious headspace when making it. I have no idea if you’ll hear track three, 'Melt Spun', as happy or sad. But how often are we exclusively one or the other, anyway? Our inner light refracts in the prism of daily life. Sometimes we’re red by day and blue by night, trying to keep it all together. What colors do your mirrors reflect back to you?"

As of March 7, the 'Quality Mirrors' album is available everywhere, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. Later this year, Restless Mosaic aims to release a new album that brings Declaime's poetry to Isleib's back catalog of instrumentals.

Spineshank Announce Summer Tour + Festival Appearances

Grammy-nominated, '00s-era nu-metal favorites SPINESHANK have announced they will reunite in 2025 for the 25th anniversary of their landmark release, 2000's The Height of Callousness, with a revamped lineup featuring original/founding members. The lineup will feature vocalist Jonny Santos; drummer Tommy Decker; and bassist Rob Garcia, rounded out with the addition of guitarists Tommy Decker, Jr. and Jason Hager (Years of Fire, ex-Chimaira).

The reunited Spineshank have announced several major festival appearances including Louder Than Life, Inkcarceration, and Aftershock, as well as a co-headlining tour with The Union Underground, dubbed AN EDUCATION IN CALLOUSNESS, with both bands celebrating their respective 2000 releases played in their entirety.

"We are beyond excited to be able to celebrate 25 years of The Height of Callousness," says Decker. "This is the record that defined us as a band and changed our lives. We can’t wait to play all of these songs and share the memories with all of you who lived it with us."

Santos shares his bandmate's enthusiasm, saying, "We are extremely excited to celebrate the return of Spineshank for the 25th anniversary of The Height of Callousness tour, and get to share this milestone with the people who were there back then, and the new fans that never got the chance to see us play. Truly an honor!!!"

"It's amazing that 25 years later people still react to The Height of Callousness the way they do," shares Garcia. "We're excited to get out and play these songs again, see old friends, and throw down for all the new fans who never got to see Spineshank the first time around!"

The band has also announced plans to release a new track this spring to digital outlets, which will be the first new SPINESHANK music released since 2012's Anger, Denial, Acceptance

Formed in 1996 in Los Angeles, Spineshank exploded onto the late 90’s Metal scene with their 1998 Roadrunner debut Strictly Diesel, and quickly built a rabid underground following, hitting the road alongside current and future luminaries like Sepultura, System of A Down, Fear Factory, Biohazard, and Static-X.

Born from a unique fusion of industrial metal, alternative metal, and nu-metal elements, Spineshank gained prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s as part of the emerging wave of heavy music influenced by electronic textures and aggressive rhythms. Known for their emotionally charged compositions and intense live performances, Spineshank left a lasting impact on the Metal scene, blending heavy riffs, electronic undertones, and introspective lyrics to craft a distinctive sound that has resonated with fans worldwide for over 30 years.
Their sophomore effort, 2000’s The Height of Callousness (2000), Produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Mudvayne) marked a turning point into a more polished and aggressive sound, leading to critical acclaim and wider exposure,  as Spineshank joined the ranks of Ozzfest 2001 and toured alongside a who’s who of modern Metal greats including Slipknot, Linkin Park, Type O Negative, Mudvayne, and more.

In 2003, Spineshank released Self-Destructive Pattern, which included the Grammy-nominated single "Smothered.", but despite their success, internal tensions led to the departure of vocalist Jonny Santos in 2004, who formed SILENT CIVILIAN, and the band went on hiatus shortly after. Santos eventually returned, and Spineshank reunited in 2008, releasing their fourth and final album, Anger Denial Acceptance, in 2012.

In 2023 Santos and Decker announced the forming of a new project, The Less Dead, which led to further speculation about the future of Spineshank, until early 2025 when the band was announced to be reuniting as part of the lineup for LOUDER THAN LIFE to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Height of Callousness.

MIKE TRAMP Shares New Lyric Video for "Lonely Nights"

Esteemed rock vocalist and guitarist MIKE TRAMP shares a new lyric video for the track "Lonely Nights," the stellar single from his latest album - 'Songs Of White Lion – Vol. II' which is out now via Frontiers Music Srl. The album's ten tracks are a set of re-imagined select cuts from his former band, White Lion.

About the album, MIKE TRAMP shared this:

"Would Leonardo Da Vinci have re-painted Mona Lisa, if he had gotten a second chance? That, we will never know, but I can say for sure, that I am beyond thrilled to have gotten a second chance to re-record and sing the songs I wrote between 1983 and 1990. Today I have such a better understanding of how I want to express the songs in my voice than I had when I was in my 20’s, it’s just a fact, and I’ve grabbed the chance. 'Songs Of White Lion' is a whole new chapter, matter of fact it is current."

Check Out the Lyric Video for "Lonely Nights" below:

MIKE TRAMP came to prominence in the music world with White Lion, who formed in 1983. After signing to Atlantic Records, the band enjoyed great success with their second album 'Pride' in 1987, which included the hits "Wait" and "When the Children Cry". The band's third album, 'Big Game' (1991), and fourth album, 'Mane Attraction' (1992) continued the band's winning streak, but ultimately WHITE LION disbanded in 1992.

After WHITE LION, TRAMP formed the hard rock band Freak Of Nature, who had a decidedly darker and harder vibe than White Lion. Freak Of Nature would release three studio albums before disbanding in 1996. In 1998, Tramp kicked off his solo career with the album, 'Capricorn'; in 2002, his second solo album 'Recovering The Wasted Years' was released. TRAMP would then take a break from his solo career from 2004-2008 to tour and record under the name Mike Tramp's White Lion and eventually under the name White Lion, releasing the album 'Return Of The Pride' in 2008.

Since 2009, TRAMP has been writing and recording as a solo artist releasing nine studio albums, including his most recent, 2022's 'For Første Gang.' He has also been a consistent presence on the road, both as an acoustic solo artist and with a backing band, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon.

Volbeat Announce New Album "God Of Angels Trust" + Drop Video for "By a Monster's Hand"

VOLBEAT — Michael Poulsen (vocals, guitar), and Jon Larsen (drums), and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) — are thrilled to announce their ninth album God Of Angels Trust. This album arrives on June 6 via longtime label Republic/Universal. Pre-order it here.

The album will coincide with plenty of summer touring on the band's "Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide" with further dates and details below.

Today, the band shares the first taste of new music via the video for the first single "By a Monster's Hand." The song is a mid-paced riff-fest with no concessions to standard meter, juxtaposing pummeling rhythms with point-counterpoint hooks.

Watch the video, which splices footage of Volbeat in their most natural state of performing, all the while following an ominously unsettling and familiar face, here.

The video was produced by Ghost Atomic and directed by Adam Rothlein, the same team that lensed videos for prior Volbeat hits "Shotgun Blues," "Die To Live," and "Leviathan."

With God Of Angels Trust, The Danish band — which has scored ten #1 songs on the Billboard Mainstream Rock airplay chart, the most ever for a band based outside North America — has thrown caution to the wind, ignored comfort zones, and paid little heed to traditional songwriting in the search for something more immediate and surprising.

The end result will thrill Volbeat's dedicated legion of fans.

"In the past, I've taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them," says Poulsen. "This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. Instead of following any kind of structure I said, 'Okay, there are no rules. I can do anything I want. I can start with a chorus or do songs that are just a bunch of verses stacked on top of each other. Anything goes.' That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album."

Poulsen's excitement to thwart convention is palpable throughout God Of Angels Trust, a punchy, crunchy album that's undeniably Volbeat, yet marches to a fresh new metallic and melodic energy.

Poulsen started working on songs for the follow-up to 2021's Servant of the Mind in the summer of 2024. Volbeat was taking a year-long break from touring to give Michael a chance to recover from throat surgery and to tour with his death metal band, Asinhell. Driven equally by his excitement to record a new Volbeat album and by his determination not to follow convention, Poulsen worked on songs for a mere three weeks with bandmates drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. Amazingly, they worked on a new song at every rehearsal. Three weeks into the process, Volbeat had arranged half of God Of Angels Trust. That's when Poulsen decided that having no rules meant he could follow his muse wherever it took him, and he veered off on a different path. He and the band still wrote and rehearsed two songs a week, but they started composing more familiar rock songs that drew from traditional elements.

The band entered the studio with their longtime producer Jacob Hansen in the fall of 2024. As with the songwriting, Poulsen wanted to work quickly and rely on instinct, so they just plugged in and started to play. To keep the music sounding urgent and immediate, Volbeat recorded live in the studio, playing as few takes as possible before moving from one song to the next.

When it came time to add lead guitar, there was no question that Volbeat would tap Flemming C. Lund, who currently tours with the band and worked with Michael in Asinhell. A mere 13 days after they started working with Hansen, Volbeat were finished.

As impressive as it is that Volbeat wrote and recorded an entire album in about five weeks, what's more incredible is that God Of Angels Trust sounds as fleshed out, eclectic, and fulfilling as albums that have taken 10 times longer (or more) to create. In the end, creating such a strong album so quickly was a tremendous challenge that demanded Zen-like calm, a joy for exploration, maximal creativity, and razor-sharp concentration to pull off.

"In some ways, it feels like we've come full circle,” Poulsen explains. "If you start drawing a circle over an extended period of time, eventually you've going to get back where you started, and that's how I feel now. I've dealt with medical operations, lineup changes, and all these things, and now it feels like a rebirth. It doesn't feel like we're doing our ninth studio album, it feels like we're on our first album again and there's something really refreshing about that."

Volbeat will return to the road on the "Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide," beginning in June and running throughout 2025. The tour begins in June with a co-headline Canadian run with Three Days Grace and special guests Wage War, which will be followed by headline treks in the U.S. with special guests Halestorm and The Ghost Inside, and Europe and the UK with special guests Bush and Gel. All dates are below.

Fans who pre-order the album from volbeat.dk or Universal Music Group up through 5pm local time on Sunday, March 9 will receive a code to access tickets before anyone else starting Monday, March 10 at 10am local time. Regular on-sales begin Friday, March 14 at 10am local time.

The band's official D2C store is here.

Evidence of a Struggle explores timely controversy on 'Give Us A Kiss' single, teasing sophomore album

Chicago alternative rock outfit Evidence of a Struggle presents their controversial new single 'Give Me A Kiss', the second offering from their eponymous sophomore albumout May 9 via The Glue Factory and The Orchard, following the lead track 'Eddy Derecho'.

Centred around the musings of multi-instrumentalist W P C Simmons V a.k.a. Rev. Billy Simmons,  Evidence of a Struggle has grown since releasing their 2023 eponymous album to also involve Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, of1000faces, Garbage, Filter) on drums, synths and bass, and John Airo, who provides visual art for the projects. The new album is a lyrical departure from Evidence of a Struggle's 2023 debut instrumental album.

With recording, mixing and final production by Sanford Parker (Voivod, Russian Circles, Yob, Eyehategod, Wovenhand, Darkthrone), this album sees notable contributions by bassist Alan Berliant (Chris Connelly, Mavis Staples, Saint Asonia)and Solomon Walker (Liz Phair, Bryan Adams, Morrissey) with Grammy-nominated sound engineer Chris Gelin (Smashing Pumpkins, Trent Reznor, RZA, Tom Morello, Korn) handling post-production and mastering.

“‘Give is a Kiss’ is about incentivized control by media, government, religion, business, pharma, banking and mass media, who are not so subtly subduing us all with hollow psychological, monetary and chemical rewards to make us weak, malleable, dependent and wanting more just like that first kiss,” says Rev. Billy Simmons.

“We wanted to utilize some of the benefits (or curses as some would argue) of AI-assisted generative imagery. This is a different looking glass into everything affecting us, traveling within the same currents as the other songs or videos are flowing in regards to religion, money, war, inequity, inequality, pain, suffering, anger and, at the end of it all, hope. Still, it speaks through several differently-focused lenses, using this increasingly controversial technology. Maybe it can help everyone else look at themselves a little differently and avoid becoming part of the problem. Welcome to the uncanny valley. Give us a Kiss.”

Known for creating lush, cinematic, beautiful and sometimes chaotic compositions, Evidence of a Struggle spent most of 2024 weaving a dense tapestry of sonic, musical, lyrical and "visual observations” of what’s happening in our world now, in the past and what may happen in the future. Rooted within the chaos of our world, it is a loud and thoughtful sonic exploration of our unique ability as a species to harm, destroy, thoughtlessly marginalize, and discard with reckless disregard for anyone or anything outside of our immediate orbit.

"The video was created by Rev. Billy using a combination of analog and text-to-video AI generations. Over 100 generative video assets were edited using Final Cut Pro to make the final product. Each AI video I generated took 1 to 5 minutes, depending on bandwidth at The Glue factory. Not every text prompt resulted in a “good” video. For every single “good” 10-40 second generated video there were probably 3 To 5 that weren’t “good”. That’s a lot of time," says Rev. Billy Simmons.

"It’s not the most efficient way to create a video, but I’m really happy about the uncanny valley it allows me to explore. Each attempt to describe the angles, lighting, motion, and nuances that I want to AI encourages me to critique how I approach lyrics for new songs and how I can be more succinct and descriptive as a songwriter and storyteller. This video contains many hidden and easy-to-miss surprises. Happy hunting."

Transforming into a musical chameleon at night, Rev. Billy's day to day entails running Rev. Billy's Chop Shop, a salon with a creative space that regularly showcases artists' work (declared by Chicago Reader as the city's best gallery). The forthcoming 'Eddy Derecho' album is a lyrical departure from Evidence of a Struggle's debut instrumental album.

Rev. Billy previously collaborated with notable artists, such as RCA artist , Urge Overkill, Touch and Go, and major labels like BMG and Universal. In 2020, he returned to music in the midst of lockdown boredom, allowing him a continued creative outlet. Playing every instrument and recording his debut album at The Glue Factorystudio, he then joined forces with Sanford Parker.

As of March 5, 'Give Us A Kiss' is available from fine digital platforms, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp.  The full album will be released on vinyl, CD and digitally on May 9.

Cryptopsy Reissuing 'None So Vile'

They made blasphemy sound fresh on their debut, but for their follow-up, Cryptopsy claimed the crown as the most vile band in all of death metal.

None So Vile established death metal as a truly vulgar art form. With each slurp from his chalice, Lord Worm smears the line between what's sacred and profane until it's dead and dripping. Lead guitarist Jon Levasseur shouldered more of the songwriting duties while seamlessly shredding between gut-slitting chugs, blistering technical riffage and orgiastic solos, though Cryptopsy still followed the textbook drumming of Flo Mounier. Trampled underfoot by a relentless piling-on of blast beats and oddly-timed bursts of double bass, "Graves of the Fathers" quickly cemented itself as a sacred rite amongst circle pits.

"In writing None So Vile, the idea was to create something heavier, faster and more technical than Blasphemy Made Flesh", Flo says. "We were growing as musicians and so was our love for extreme music! At no point in time had we ever thought it would turn out to be one of the essential albums in death metal history. We are very happy that our fans did!"

Season of Mist is reissuing None So Vile on May 9, 2025.

Cryptopsy would win a JUNO after continuing to push the limits of extremity for the next three decades. Still, while only the band's second album, None So Vile is worshiped by gatekeepers and fresh heshers to the underground. “You won’t find a more deserving album to be the first-ever Canadian entry into the Decibel Hall of Fame”, the magazine wrote about None So Vile, which they named the tenth best death metal album of all time.

On None So Vile, Cryptopsy claimed their crown as the most vile band in all of death metal.

Though now revered as the most vile band in death metal, before Ungentle Exhumation, Cryptopsy were still just a whisper among the Canadian underground.

After settling on a new name and several lineup changes, Cryptopsy recorded their first demo as a five-piece in 1993. While the band would go on to re-record most of these songs for their blasphemous full-length debut, Ungentle Exhumation already bore their unmistakable mark on death metal. “Gravaged: A Cryptopsy” is split open by the hair-raising screech and brutal barks of Lord Worm, while Flo Mounier flogs closer “Mutant Christ” with unhinged technical precision.

Ungentle Exhumation was the first release in the band’s transition from Necrosis to Cryptopsy”, says drummer Flo Mounier. “It’s more death-metal type music. The songs have more blasts, more chunky grooves, and were recorded on good old analog, in one room, with all the musicians together!”

Season of Mist is reissuing Ungentle Exhumation on April 11, 2025.

STARSET Share "dark things" Video

Visionary, sci-fi-inspired rock collective STARSET have shared the new single "dark things,"  a haunting descent into obsession and self-destruction. With shadowy melodies and hypnotic intensity, the track pulls listeners into a world where devotion turns dangerous and darkness takes hold. Lines like "Mayday, we've been sinkin' here slowly / Turning into something unholy" build a cinematic tension that is both mesmerizing and menacing.

As the chorus warns,"When you search the dark, you get dark things," STARSET deliver an immersive, spine-chilling anthem that lingers long after the final note.

Watch the video below:

"dark things" follows 2024-released tracks  "TOKSIK," "BRAVE NEW WORLD," and "DEGENERATE."

This Gift Is A Curse are blessed with an unholy triple attack. Heir wields the transcendent ferocity of black metal, sludgy doom and the crushing weight of hardcore. Hammering blast beats and a swarm of needling tremolo picks tear through lead single "Kingdom" like the hounds of hell. "I made a secret door into your eyes", a possessed Jonas Holmberg chants alongside Livmødr's bewitching queen Laura Morgan.

On Heir, This Gift Is A Curse reign where other swinelords fear to tread.

THIS GIFT IS A CURSE defies the transient trends of music, instead choosing to carve its path with the bones of the fallen. Their forthcoming album, 'HEIR,' is a relentless pursuit of the extreme, a mosaic of human suffering and the dark beauty that lies within. As the album prepares to sear its mark upon the world, one thing is clear: There will be no heirs to the throne of darkness that THIS GIFT IS A CURSE occupies. The crown is theirs alone, forged in the fires of creation and destruction, a beacon for those who dare to walk the shadows.
