'NASHVILLE Reunion Tour' Returns to Atlanta & Nashville this Fall

After a sold-out 2023 tour, stars of the iconic hit television series “NASHVILLE” are returning with shows in Atlanta and in Nashville. NASHVILLE Reunion Tour will play Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy on November 22 and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on November 23.
 
The NASHVILLE Reunion Tour will feature stars Clare Bowen, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio, who will take the stage to perform classic songs from the series as well as their own original material. 
 
“It’s rare that an actor gets to play a dream role like Scarlett for so long,” said Bowen. “Even rarer to have ‘NASHVILLE’S’ beautiful catalogue of music that we get to continue celebrating with audiences around the world. The live shows are an evolution of the series. Esten added, “It’s difficult to describe the depth of feeling I have for the show ‘NASHVILLE,’ the character Deacon, and the amazing people that I got to work with those beautiful six years. That I get to join with some of them, sing these songs, and bring them to the people who made it all possible - the fans of ‘NASHVILLE’ - is a blessing I will never take for granted. I can’t wait to do it again!”
 
With the success of last year’s tour, cast member Jackson said, “I am so excited that the musical journey with the ‘NASHVILLE’ cast is still unfolding. We’ve been digging into the ‘NASHVILLE’ catalogue and uncovering some tunes we’ve never performed live together. I’m immensely grateful to be able to go on the road and perform these songs with my cast mates, our incredible band, and experience it all together with our amazingly dedicated fans.”

Clare Bowen used to drive cattle on horseback, in rural Australia. She is now an actor, writer, director, and one half of critically acclaimed Americana duo, BOWEN * YOUNG. Bowen is currently balancing her filming and touring schedule, with the recording of BOWEN * YOUNG’s sophomore album. A classically trained vocalist, Bowen had just finished leading the original Australian cast of the musical adaptation of “Spring Awakening” when the Academy Award winning artistic director Cate Blanchett suggested Bowen travel to the USA, where she landed the role of Scarlett O’Connor on “NASHVILLE.”

Multi-talent Charles Esten is a global entertainer. Best known for his roles as “Ward Cameron” on the Netflix hit show “OUTER BANKS” and “Deacon Claybourne” in ABC/CMT’s “NASHVILLE.”  The artist-songwriter delivered his highly anticipated independent debut album, “Love Ain’t Pretty” this year, co-writing all 14 songs with acoustic guitar credits.  Garnering over 21 MILLION streams to date, Esten is a 2018 Guinness World Records title holder for the “Most consecutive weeks to release an original digital single by a music act” after delivering 54 original songs once a week for 54 straight weeks. Jonathan Jackson is a multi-dimensional artist: an author, musician, actor, and filmmaker. Jonathan’s life in the arts began as an actor at the age of eleven on General Hospital, where his work was honored with five EMMY Awards. After years working in feature films such as Tuck Everlasting and Insomnia, he played Avery Barkley in “NASHVILLE,” for six seasons. His works as an author include, The Harrowing of Hell and The Mystery of Art, which has been translated into Greek, Romanian and Russian. Jonathan was recently named Associate Dean and Primary Lecturer at Theoria School of Filmmaking. 

In addition to the “NASHVILLE” cast tours, he is the lead singer and songwriter for the band Jonathan Jackson + Enation. His latest album is The Harrowing of Hell (Official Soundtrack). Over the course of three decades in Hollywood, his journey as an artist, performer and public speaker has taken around the world to notably the U.K., Ireland, Italy, Romania, Russia, Canada and Greece. He currently resides in Tennessee with his wife Elisa and their three children.

Actor and musician, Sam Palladio, grew up in Cornwall in the southwest of England, but it was in Music City, that Sam got his musical big break playing the role of Gunnar Scott in “NASHVILLE.” Since then, Sam’s been focusing on his debut record, collaborating with acclaimed British songwriters like Ed Harcourt, Jonny Lattimer and Nick Hodgson and recording with US producers Soren Hansen (New Politics), Paul DiVincenzo (Elle King) and Dave Sardy (Noel Gallagher, Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, The Who). Reflecting both his British roots and his new home in the States, the record is uniquely personal and will finally be revealed to the world on September 13, 2024.

Kenny Chesney Hits New Record @ MetLife; 2+Hours, No Shoes Nation + Lots of Love

Never mind the rain. Kenny Chesney came to MetLife to play, and play hard. The home of the NY Giants and Jets was packed to a level that blew out Chesney’s previous best of 59,999 in 2022 by over a thousand tickets. But even more than the numbers, it was the heart, the hoist and the heft of No Shoes Nation who cranked into a raving a cappella chorus of “American Kids,” swayed side-to-side and raised their lights into the sky to tour rarity “Knowing You” and got swept up in a particularly sultry “Somewhere With You.”
 
“We could tell even before we walked out onstage, MetLife was ready for this show,” Chesney raved after the show. “No Shoes Nation always shows up hard when we play New York, but this crowd, even before they could see us, they made sure we felt all that passion. It was incredible – and then when we walked out, it didn’t let up, not even in the ballads.”
 
For Chesney, making his eighth appearance at MetLife, it’s been a summer of breaking personal records across the country. Corey Kent Teams with Lauren Alaina for Latest Release "Now or Never"

Sony Music Nashville artist Corey Kent has spent more than 15 years cutting his own path through a tangled wilderness of stumbles and setbacks … and never once come close to waving a white flag. The result…he is about to release his sophomore album, Black Bandana, Sept. 6, 2024 and will kick off his headlining Black Bandana Tour on Sept. 21. "'Now or Never' is a song about drawing a line in the sand for yourself,” shared Kent. “It’s about loving somebody but refusing to let them continue to hurt you by taking a stand and asking your partner to make up their mind... 'You either love me or you don’t.’"

Written by Sam Ellis, Ryan Hurd and Geoff Warburton and produced by Chris Farren, “Now or Never” finds Kent channeling the ’80s-rock anthems that helped give his childhood a soundtrack turning it into an orchestral-rock power ballad... and a duet of epic emotional proportions. Featuring the crystalline vocal counterpoint of Lauren Alaina, a pair of lovers resolve to give their volatile connection a final ultimatum –make it work now, or break it off entirely.

A Bixby, Oklahoma native now based in Dallas, the proud husband and father has become a decorated artist on the rise, growing from humble heartland roots into a Platinum certified Number One hit maker with 940 million career streams, and a black bandana on his neck. But today, that Black Bandana is more than an accessory – and not just the name of his sophomore major-label album. It’s his rally cry.
 
“It started from riding motorcycles and wanting something over your face so you didn’t swallow a bug,” the singer-songwriter says. “But then it turned into a staple I wear on stage, and then a symbol of the path through my career, and life. Through all the ups and downs, the one constant thing was this relentless hope – this relentless pursuit of believing that if I don’t give up, I can get where I’m going.”
 
With a self-built story that has seen success and disaster, keeping that belief wasn’t always easy – but it’s been paying off. Rising from the vibrant Red Dirt country scene as the embodiment of authenticity, Kent set his sights on Nashville as a teen, bringing his self-penned catalog of country-rock anthems with him. But after the pandemic coincided with the loss of his first publishing deal, Kent was forced to move to Texas and get a job on a paving crew to pay the bills, yet he stubbornly refused to call music quits. Honky-tonks and dancehalls on both sides of the Red River became his stomping ground, and slowly but surely, the black bandana spirit grew.
 
Fast forward a few years and the hit single “Wild As Her” proved he was right all along. An untamed tribute to a free-spirited stunner, the track re-invigorated Kent’s career as a Platinum-certified No. 1 at country radio, and the lead single off his major label album debut, Blacktop. And while momentum kept building, with Kent hitting the road alongside Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum and more, the mainstream moved to claim they knew it all along. Next-big-thing accolades came in from CMT, Opry Next Stage and more, but even as Kent became the most played new artist on country radio for all of 2023, he kept the underdog, who-cares-about-conventional-wisdom mentality. And so did his fans.
 
For Kent, the point was that his fans have the same independent spirit he does, and he took that lesson into his next chapter. Settled into his ranch in Texas and intent on being fully present as husband and father, while also achieving his dreams, his second album is all about finding balance, keeping clear eyes on what’s important – and waving that Black Bandana for all to see.
  
Co-writing six of Black Bandana’s 10 songs, what Kent ultimately wanted was to mix themes of integrity, resilience and family with a sonic setting befitting the mission. Finding the midway point between cinematic electric guitars and heart-pounding drums meet a warm, gravel-road rasp, as Kent brings classic rock into the present tense. 
  
“We all face our own demons. We all face our own setbacks, and I hope this record serves as encouragement,” he says. “It would be really easy to lean on the past and go ‘Look at what I’ve done,’ but I’m still excited about the records I’ve yet to create. I’m excited about the shows I haven’t played yet. I’m excited about unlocking new levels of my craft, and writing more songs that people connect with deeply. …I still live for those moments.”

Kent is also connecting with friends on the road in his new podcast “Bus Call.” The podcast finds Kent chatting with everyone from country music star Bailey Zimmerman to 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, OSU Running Back Ollie Gordon. Defiled have long since mastered the vile art of old-school death metal. After 30 years of slicing and dicing, Defiled know where to stick the blade. The band's new title tracks shreds through the psychological horrors of mind control with riffs that are honed from their sharp influence of '80s thrash and hardcore. "The time has come", frontman Shinichiro Hamada spits at his captors with utter disgust. "Death strikes you with derision".

With three albums now under their belts in the past four years, Defiled certainly don't have the patience to suffer any fools. Halfway through its brutal punishment, "Horror Beyond Horror" is whipped along by a squealing whammy bar and blast beats that are more piercing and precise than a firing squad.

But the band aren't afraid to crack open people's skulls, either. "What sets Defiled's old-school approach apart from the plethora of modern imitators is a refined sense of songcraft", says Lambgoat. It still cuts to the raw truth, but "Horror Beyond Horror" is also thick with stomach-churning tempo twists. Just as they seem to settle into a skull-crushing groove, the band fly off the rails with more fret-ripping madness. And yet - amidst the song's deranged lunacy, Defiled never fail to lure you back into the pit.

Movements Announce Deluxe Edition of "RUCKUS!"

Southern California post-hardcore band MOVEMENTS — Patrick Miranda, vocals; Ira George, guitar; Spencer York, drums; and Austin Cressey, bass — are proud to announce the deluxe edition of their 2023-released album RUCKUS!

But this is no ordinary deluxe edition. It's packed with extras that fans will be eager to get their hands on.

Movements look to enhance RUCKUS! by remixing the entire album with six different remixers/producers for RUCKUS! (The Remixes).

On November 1, the digital-only RUCKUS! (The Remixes) will drop, with 11 remixes of the 10 original album tracks.

The single "Lead Pipe" will have two remixes. 

On December 13, the vinyl version of RUCKUS! (Deluxe Edition) will feature the full original album, along with the new song "Afraid to Die" and the 11 remixes. It will include "Lead Pipe (Live at Studio 4)" on Flexi.

ABOUT MOVEMENTS:
It's been a whirlwind few years for Movements as evidenced by the fact that band's 2020 album No Good Left to Give debuted at #3 on the Alternative chart and their streams have doubled since then with 300 million total streams in the U.S. alone. However, despite their success, the Southern Californian act have constantly reinvented themselves since forming in 2015 and the band's third full-length RUCKUS! sees the post-hardcore quartet taking their sound to expansive and sometimes unexpected places. Produced by longtime collaborator Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange), the album fuses post-hardcore and punk influences with a healthy dose of pop songcraft to create an album that defies scene conventions in favor of something wholly unique. In order to accomplish this, the band made three extended trips to Yip's Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, to write and record the collection of songs that would end up as RUCKUS! "I truly don't believe that it could have been a more streamlined process and I don't think we've ever written music that's as good as what we put together for this record," Miranda explains. RUCKUS! sees the band integrating decidedly different influences such as Gorillaz and Strokes into their sound to challenge people's preconceptions.

Permafrost - new single 'Ultimo August'

Permafrost is a post-punk band, originally from Molde in Norway, which was formed in 1982 by school friends Frode Heggdal Larsen & Kåre Steinsbu. Robert Heggdal & Trond Tornes joined in 2001, and Daryl Bamonte in 2016. They take their name from a song by Magazine, and other influences are Joy Division, The Cure, Talking Heads, Pere Ubu, Fad Gadget, The Residents, Wire and Wolfgang Press. Trond Tornes left the band in 2022 to pursue other projects.

To date they have released the five critically acclaimed singles, 'Femme Fatale', 'Closed Eyes', 'Restore Us' and 'Come Back To Surprise', which all reached #1 on the Indie Disko Top40 chart (“Closed Eyes” for 6 consecutive weeks) as well as listing high on both the Deutsche Alternative and Native25 charts. They were added to numerous playlists including Apple Music’s 'New in Rock'. This year 'Wrong Heart' went top 5 in the ID Top40.

'Ultimo August' is the latest single from their forthcoming album 'The Light Coming Through', which will be released in Autumn 2024 on their own Fear of Music label.

Chase Rice Unveils Haunting Murder Ballad “Haw River” off Independent Album 'Go Down Singin’' Due Sept. 20

Celebrated by Billboard for “having storytelling details tumble from his lips, his portraits created quickly and efficiently,” Diamond-certified songwriter Chase Rice unveils his latest gripping narrative via today’s release of “Haw River,” offering fans a further glimpse into his highly anticipated independent album, Go Down Singin’, arriving Sept. 20. Inspired by a chance encounter during a writing retreat in Wilmington, N.C. with Blake Pendergrass – who also served as Rice’s writing partner on the recently released autobiographical title track – the haunting and evocative song showcases his ability to weave gripping narratives with a raw emotional core.
 
As Rice recalls of the chilling murder ballad’s origin, “We met a girl who said, ‘I’m Kayla from Haw River,’ and my ears just went up. Blake said, ‘We should make that a murder ballad…’ and we were off. Between the series 1923 about those priests beating up and raping Native American girls and our imaginations, it got pretty dark.”
 
With vivid lyrics and a stirring melody, “Haw River” tells the story of a preacher who exploits his power, only to face retribution at the hands of one of his victims, highlighting Rice’s continued evolution as a storyteller and his deep connection to the themes that resonate with him. The song joins a collection of songs that explore themes of growth, loss and redemption on Go Down Singin’, marking a significant moment in his musical journey as he bets on himself with the independent release.

Cheatham County Newcomer Preston James Releases Music Video for "Fences"

With his long hair, blonde scruff and dark eyes, southern rocker Preston James certainly looks the part. But it’s his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics that will convince you he’s come a long way from the clean-cut kid who first plied the boards of Broadway nearly a decade ago. 

Since then, the Cheatham County native—who was offered his first publishing deal at 18—has announced himself to the Row, signing with publishers King Pen Music and Warner Chappell Music and inking a booking deal with The Neal Agency. 

Brian Carothers and Evan Kantor, both agents with The Neal Agency, are firmly in James’s corner. “Preston is sitting on an unbelievable debut EP,” Carothers says. “I’ll never forget the day he played it for everyone here. The excitement in the room was special, and we’re all thrilled to be working with him.” Adds Kantor, “From the moment we all heard the music, we were sold on Preston’s talent. What’s been even more exciting is seeing how incredible his live show is. We are honored to be a part of bringing that to the masses.”

James notes this one is extra special because it is autobiographical. “I first met Charity (Bowden), my fiancée, at age 15 and we became fast friends but reaching where we are now has been quite the journey.” It took some convincing and several years to become more than friends, and when the relationship evolved, Charity’s father had reservations about her dating a long-haired country singer. But, James explains, “I eventually realized what really mattered, persevered and overcame every fence in front of me because I knew without a doubt that she was the one.”

The music video for “Fences,” produced and directed by Jim Cook, Cookhouse Media, is being released today. Both “Fences” and “Deal with the Devil” are featured on White Trash from Way Back, James’s five-song EP set to debut Oct. 25. Next up off the EP is “Heartbreak’s on You,” due out Sept. 20. Each cut showcases James’s passion for storytelling as he moves effortlessly from small-town love song to hillbilly headbanger, narrating the vagaries of rural life.

Autumn Kings Sign to Hopeless Records // Listen to "SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD" + "HELLBOUND"

Rock band AUTUMN KINGS, who have been steadily buzzing for the past year and with over 40 million streams and counting, have a landed a brand new label home. 

The trio, known for crafting unforgettably hooky anthems, has officially signed to Hopeless Records, and will commence working on material imminently.

"We are so excited to officially sign a record deal with Hopeless Records," the band says. "We've admired the label's fierce independent spirit for over a decade and they helped give careers to some of our favorite bands who changed our lives and inspired us to do music — Avenged Sevenfold, Sum 41, and Yellowcard, to name a few. Autumn Kings have had their music played on Football Night In America; at Detroit Red Wings games; in Major League Baseball stadiums; and on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.  They spent the summer of 2023 touring Pacific and Japanese military bases and have opened for Bush, Dorothy, Tea Party, X Ambassadors, and Mutemath. 

Extinction A.D. 'To The Detested' | Drop Music Video For New Track "Burnt Sienna"

Extinction A.D., New York's relentless purveyors of ferocious hardcore tinged thrash metal, have released their brand new album, 'To The Detested' today via Unique Leader Records. Unwavering in its brutality and pulling no punches from a lyrical perspective. The band's fourth studio album sees the band continue to expand and evolve their sound and embrace new influences. This evolution is most apparent on today's focus track, 'Burnt Sienna', crafted in homage to frontman, Rick Jimenez' Puerto Rican heritage, incorporating elements of Bomba and hearing Rick sing in Spanish for the first time on an Extinction A.D. track. Rick's vulnerable experiences that shaped the song and the band's journey to creating the song have been captured in a mini-documentary, that will premiere on Monday, August 19th HERE.

Speaking on "Burnt Sienna", Rick Jimenez shares

"This entire song was a crazy journey from start to finish. From conception of incorporating Bomba into our typical metal style, to singing in Spanish, to diving into the "personal turmoil turned pride in exploration” of my Puerto Rican heritage and my upbringing in an unwelcoming environment, to putting together the exposition video doc of the creation of the song, to choosing this as a single. It’s a lot of personal exposition and being raw about my own individual experiences and evolution as I grow older in this world while simultaneously coming to terms with some things and discovering others." 

Speaking on the release of the album today, Jimenez continues

"This album took on a life of its own very quickly and is by far the freshest one of our career. There was no second guessing or laboring over anything, it was pure unbridled energy from the first note of the first song we wrote to the final sound we recorded. We’ve never pulled any punches musically or lyrically but this is a whole new level of intensity, vitriol and honesty. It is not for the thin-skinned or the weak hearted. This record is in fact our declaration to the detested."

WME, UMPG, FBMM Rally Behind Newcomer Christian Hayes

Christian Hayes was living in Rome, Georgia and working at an oil company when he posted a video singing his self-penned song “Leaving” to his Instagram in September 2023, catching the attention of Wildrose Projects artist manager Helena Capps. After exchanging a series of messages and music links, the two entered a management agreement and set to work – with Hayes hitting the studio to record “Leaving,” since-viral single “LILY” (released to DSPs this spring, amassing over 2 million streams) and recent release “Cheyenne.”
 
Now, Hayes is building on the momentum by expanding his team even further, signing with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for booking, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) for publishing and Flood Bumstead McCready & McCarthy (FBMM) for business management. Additional representation includes Safford Motley PLC’s Scott Safford as attorney and Essential Broadcast Media for publicity. Hayes is also signed to ASCAP. 
 
“Music has always been a part of my life and now, it always will be,” shares Hayes. “Not many people get to live out their passion and purpose and I’m beyond blessed to do so thanks to this amazing team we’ve built. I’m excited to start this journey alongside all of them!”
 
Hayes was just seven years old when his Grandpa Jack, a former poet laureate for the state of Georgia, gave him his first journal. He encouraged Hayes to utilize the empty pages to write whatever he wanted – poems, songs or feelings – enforcing the understanding that his words were one of the few things that were solely his.
 
"After hearing ‘LILY,’ we were huge fans of Christian’s songwriting," says Cyndi Forman, Senior VP, A&R, UMPG Nashville. "Once we heard him perform live, we knew we had something incredibly special on our hands. Christian’s approach to songwriting is unique yet fits right in at a time when genres are blending."

Surrounded by family, poverty and love, Hayes first picked up a guitar when he was eight years old and started putting songwriting and guitar together. He prayed for God to help him learn guitar and checked out the “Guitar for Dummies" book at the local library for extra support. Hayes led worship in his church until he graduated high school and enrolled in the US Navy Reserve. He went to bootcamp and then the University of Alabama in the fall of 2018 where he wrote the first song that he says was “worth listening to twice.”

Drowning Pool, the iconic heavy metal band known for their electrifying performances and chart-topping hits, is thrilled to announce the No Authority Tour 2024 with special guests A Killer's Confession, Above Snakes and The Failsafe.! This tour promises to be an adrenaline-fueled journey, featuring Drowning Pool's dynamic return with lead singer Ryan McCombs. REPENTANCE to support ORBIT CULTURE; Release new lyric video for "Light It Up"!

Chicago, Illinois-based metallers REPENTANCE will provide direct support for the Swedish metal act ORBIT CULTURE on August 19 at Majestic Theater in Detroit, Michigan and August 20 at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, Illinois. In order to celebrate and prepare their fans for the upcoming dates, today the band released a brand new lyric video for their album track "Light It Up". Video done by Andrea Mantelli.
