OCEANS OF SLUMBER Announce Dark, Cinematic New Album

Though they proudly hail from the fiery heart of Houston, Texas, Oceans of Slumber are always pushing toward the next frontier. Back in May, while on tour with Lacuna Coil and New Years Day, the band gave a first glimpse at their upcoming sixth album with a spellbinding video for its boundless title track.

Today, Oceans of Slumber are pulling back the curtain even further by officially announcing Where Gods Fear to Speak, which was produced by GRAMMY nominee Joel Hamilton. The album's second single, "Poem of Ecstasy", breathes new life into the metal scene by remaking a timeless story in their own dark cinematic image.

Watch the grim-but-glowing performance video for "Poem of Ecstasy" Below.

Where Gods Fear to Speak comes out September 13 on Season of Mist.

Oceans of Slumber defy any and all conventions. For the past 15 years, the band have redefined the Southern Gothic by casting their tales of hope and despair against an ever-shifting backdrop of melodic death, doom and black metal, with subtle electronic flourishes and classical composition added for good measure. But their new album expands their progressive vision to the hi-def scope of a Hollywood blockbuster. Each song acts as another gripping plot twist along its grand narrative arc.

"Where Gods Fear to Speak exists somewhere between The Handmaid's Tale, The Dark Tower and Cormac McCarthy", Dobber Beverly says. "It's part science fiction, part western gunslinger with a heavy dash of post-apocalyptic survival".

Of course, no movie is complete without a compelling soundtrack. "Poem of Ecstasy" splices together so many stand-out scenes that it could spin off as its own mini-epic. We open on frontwoman Cammie Beverly, doing vocal runs in the moonlight cast by a twinkling piano, only to cut from outlaw country to doom-laden power metal and what can only be described as "dystopian grindcore".

"Every time you make a new record, you think it's the best," Dobber continues, "but 'Poem of Ecstasy' is easily one of the best songs we've ever written. It sounds like an energetic, pissed-off-band, with enigmatic storytelling and all those magical things".

Performing such a radical play on extreme metal requires a talented cast of characters. Having already toured the world with Enslaved, Ne Obliviscaris and Swallowed by the Sun, Oceans of Slumber are well-acquainted with metal's biggest stages. Even the most obscure corners of the underground recognize Dobber as the drummer for grindcore legends Insect Warfare, but he's also a classically trained pianist who composed all of Where Gods Fear to Speak. His Necrofier bandmate Semir Ozerkan adds heat with harsh backing vocals and warm but bruising bass fills, as co-guitarists Alex Davis and Chris Kritikos roar through the mix like a sandstorm, though everyone cedes the spotlight to the band's leading lady.

"I'll do everything to stay by your side", Cammie belts. Her cleans push back against the charging blast beats like a force field, but while she only gains strength from sinking into the profane depths of her newly anointed death growls, there's still a feeling that something deep inside is holding her back. "And I'll do anything except stop what I'm chasing".

On the album's title track, Oceans of Slumber banged heads with the religious institutions that loomed over their formative years in Texas, but "Poem of Ecstasy" has them fighting on a different kind of battlefield. "All of the songs on Where Gods Fear to Speak are set in this futuristic, derelict world, where the lower class are rebelling against their overzealous rulers", says Cammie, "but 'Poem of Ecstasy' is the album's big no-holds-barred love song".

The musical tug of war that rages throughout "Poem of Ecstasy" -- between unrelenting heaviness and subdued introspection -- mirrors the struggle of its hero. When writing the lyrics, Cammie was inspired by Blade Runner and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. "Sometimes, we're so hellbent on pursuing our dreams that we lose sight of the people we're fighting for", she says. "How can you save the world if you can't even save yourself?"

Not every movie has a happy ending. While plenty inspired, Cammie's last words on "Poem of Ecstasy" ring out like a cry for help. "Save me / Save me from myself", she sings, climbing into the tender reaches of her upper register, as pounding drums and tendriled riffs threaten to drag her down into the song's fiery crypt.

You'll have to wait and hear the whole album to find out whether our hero survives this cliffhanger. But for now, one thing is already clear: with Where Gods Fear to Speak, Oceans of Slumber have recorded their masterpiece.

The visuals for the "Poem of Ecstasy" video were created by Masaya

More than a decade has passed since the release of Oceans of Slumber’s Aetherial debut album, and a lot has changed. After recruiting Cammie Gilbert (now Beverly) in 2014, the Houston, Texas crew’s trajectory took a natural, upward tilt, fueled by the hugely positive response received by second album, Winter (2016). Masters of dark-hearted brutality and gritty, melancholic song craft, Oceans of Slumber transcended the usual genre limitations, favoring a progressive and boundary-less approach. With each successive record, the combination of founder, drummer, pianist and chief songwriter Dobber Beverly’s brooding, dynamic onslaughts with Cammie’s charismatic presence and elegant, sonorous vocals garnered widespread acclaim and an international fan base. Monuments to a restless creative spirit, the band’s third and fourth albums, The Banished Heart (2018) and Oceans of Slumber (2020) raised the stakes ever higher.

Nobody said it was going to be easy, however. Buoyed by the praise of critics and the love of increasingly rabid admirers, Oceans of Slumber proved true to their progressive reputation when they released fifth full-length Starlight & Ash in 2022. Although still palpably drawn from the same well of dark and daring influences that had informed previous records, the new songs were pointedly bereft of the crushing metal tropes and elaborate song structures of old. Instead, Oceans of Slumber stripped things to an ornate and earthy take on gothically-inclined songwriting and melancholy modern prog. Starlight & Ash was praised in metal and prog media, but drew the ire of the band’s big label paymasters, who were rather unimaginatively hoping for more of the same. Reaching an impasse, band and label parted ways, leading to Oceans of Slumber’s newly-forged relationship with the notoriously open-minded Season of Mist. Now armed with a brand new studio album, Where Gods Fear To Speak, these intuitive radicals have gone where they will be understood.

“The thing is, we never said we’re never going to do something heavy again,” shrugs Cammie. “People panic when a band puts out an album that does something different. It was a weird time. It came during a time when our music was different from everything else, and I think the record was a bit lost on some people - people that mattered in our realm. The fans got it, and it was received really well, just not by the label!”

Starlight should’ve been an easier way for us to branch out to a different audience,” adds Dobber. “But the label didn’t care and we didn’t try to capitalize on it. With Where Gods Fear To Speak, every time you make a new record, you think it’s the best, but there’s a couple of songs on this record that are definitely the best songs we’ve ever written, easily. There’s an energy to them that’s palpable. It sounds like an energetic, pissed-off band, with enigmatic storytelling and all those magical things.”

Recorded in Bogota, Colombia, in 2023, Where Gods Fear To Speak is a multi-faceted entry into Oceans of Slumber’s burgeoning legacy. Many of the melodic and textural elements that made Starlight & Ash such a revelation are still present, but scabrous brutality and complex, cultured arrangements are back with a vengeance. With Cammie’s astonishing vocal blend of vulnerability and abominable power, these songs are the best possible showcase for a band on an unerring mission to win the world over.

“I think Cammie is the best singer in America by far, but if she’s at such a top level and we still can’t break through, that just means that if we want to stay where we are, we’ve got to work harder!” Dobber admits, candidly. “We know how good we are, and how good the music is, but it doesn’t pay off for us all the time and the new record reflects that. It’s aggressive, it’s aggravated, but it tells a story. The closing song, "Impermanence Of Fate" - that’s the tag. It means that what you have it isn’t a fatal flaw or a mortal wound, and you can change things and work around these setbacks. So a lot of this record is fight songs.”

A colossus in both conception and execution, Where Gods Fear To Speak eschews the usual modern metal sounds in favor of an overwhelming, wall-of-sound production. As songs like the thunderous title track and the grim and sprawling "Don’t Come Back From Hell Empty Handed" cast their meandering, malevolent spells, every instrument leaps out with laser-like clarity, and the vast, emotional heft underpinning Dobber and Cammie’s lyrics is brought rivetingly to the fore. Meanwhile, standout gems like "The Given Dream" and "Poem of Ecstasy" showcase Oceans of Slumber’s still-evolving core sound, with soaring melodies and jaw-dropping dynamics that casually blur the boundary between the accessible and the avant-garde, while basking in the brooding glow of Cammie’s unique voice. Produced in collaboration with esteemed studio guru Joel Hamilton at Audovision Studios in Bogota, it emerges as a self-evident labor of love for all of those involved.

“We did the most extensive pre-production demoing that we’ve ever done for this record. Everything was finished, the vocal lines were 98% done in advance,” Dobber notes. “Then we got into the studio and I threw curveballs at Cammie to piss her off and get her to land these certain vocal sections. There has to be some element of this that is created in the moment. It’s not magical otherwise. I did all the synthesizers and orchestrations at home, but then we recorded the rest of it at the studio in Colombia. Joel’s done a lot of work with big hitters, but also with Neurosis and bands like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. So when I said we were going to make a heavy record, I wanted it to sound like all hell’s breaking loose. We wanted a very natural production and for everything to be as organic as it could be.”

From the doom-laden opening chords of "Where  Gods Fear To Speak" – released as the album’s first preview single, and revealing Cammie’s feral death growls for the first time – to the dying, desolate embers of grand finale "Impermanence Of Fate", the new Oceans of Slumber album is simply the most immersive and fascinating piece of work the band have made. As added intrigue, guest stars Mikael Stanne of Swedish melo-death legends Dark Tranquillity, and Moonspell’s iconic frontman Fernando Ribeiro lend their vocal talents to "Run From The Light" and "Prayer" respectively. Steeped in the oppressive atmospheres of doom, death and gothic metal, but rendered using a spinning kaleidoscope of progressive musical shades, Where The Gods Fear To Speak idly defies categorization, while strenuously redefining the artistic formula that Oceans of Slumber have spent so many years refining. Meanwhile, these songs paint such vivid pictures that it comes as little surprise that Where Gods Fear to Speak is a certified concept work, with a cinematic streak a mile wide.

“This album is a dystopian western or a post-apocalyptic survival movie, somewhere between The Handmaid’s Tale, The Dark Tower and Cormac McCarthy,” states Dobber. “The whole idea is that Where The Gods Fear To Speak is a movie, and we’ve written the soundtrack. If the world was taken over, like in movie The Book Of Eli, and Gary Oldman had found the Bible and the true power of it, and he was wielding the power of the lord over everybody, those people that were maybe just into their traditional spiritualism or people that were not religious at all, they would be the defectors, so the record is written from the viewpoint of the defectors. The ending credits are our version of "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. We wanted to take it back to when the music in movies set the tone for everything.”

Wildly evocative and bulging under the weight of its countless razor-sharp melodies, Where Gods Fear To Speak proves that Oceans of Slumber will not let the occasional setback put them off their creative stride. Both the heaviest and the most sophisticated record they have made yet, it covers all bases to deliver an emotional, life-affirming musical journey like no other. Some people will love it. Others may not. But what is abundantly clear is that Oceans of Slumber remain a formidable force to be reckoned with, and When Gods Fear To Speakmay be their masterpiece.

“We just hope to grow the band. We’ve had a problem with reaching the next level, but I’m hoping this record makes the difference, and people just give us a shot,” Dobber concludes. “The band is great and it’s tight, and Cammie is such a great performer. When people really get to see the real thing in front of them, which they don’t a lot of the time, it just works, intrinsically. There’s just a natural response to it. So if we can get in front of the audiences we should, then we’ll win them over and the band will grow. That’s all we want. It's a mechanism for survival at this point.”

Kent Brings Hits + New Music with Direct Support by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts,
Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on Select Dates

It’s been a breakout year for Sony Music Nashville’s Corey Kent. In addition to being named a CMT Listen Up Artist, as well as a member of The Opry Next Stage Class of 2023, he released his major label debut album, Blacktop, featuring the No. 1, Platinum-certified hit, “Wild as Her,” and has already surpassed 750 million career streams. The album was a nod back to the Oklahoma native/Dallas based country star’s many miles driving on the blacktop to hone his craft taking music to the fans anywhere he could play. Never one to rest on his laurels, the road warrior is keeping his foot on the gas in 2024 and will be burning up the blacktop once again with his headlining Black Bandana Tour.

Kent will be joined by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts, Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on select dates. The headlining international tour will kick-off in Paso Robles California on Sept. 21, and trek across both the U.S. and U.K. with stops in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Dublin, London and more into early 2025.

Drawing inspiration from The Eagles, Keith Richards, Turnpike Troubadours and more, Kent’s bandana-wearing Rock ‘N’ Roll spirit comes to life on the stage. And after over a decade of paying dues, his career has not been without starts and stops … that perseverance serves as the inspiration behind the tour’s name.

“It all started with a bunch of Oklahoma boys piling into a red van called ‘Rooster’ and taking any gig we could get. We believed our live show would speak for itself, and we’d hustle to the merch table after our set to sling t-shirts in hopes of making enough to fill up the van to get to the next show. All those sleepless nights in the van, all the opening slots, all the miles, all the shirt slinging, all the blood, the sweat and the tears PAY OFF TODAY!” Kent reflects. “Today, I’m stoked to announce our first ever headline tour starting here in the USA and then hopping across the pond! Time to make some memories.”

Kent finds himself musically at the intersection of rock infused country, heartland values, and red dirt grit. Still in his 20’s, he has built an incredible fanbase, developed his live show for the last 15 years, and is positioned as one of country music’s next breakout stars.

“For us, the black bandana has been what we’ve picked up in times when everyone thought we should wave a white flag to surrender,” Kent furthers. “I’ve spent a lot of years raising my black bandana high and letting 'em know that I wasn’t giving up that easy. I’m so excited to still be doing what I love and can’t wait to get on the road this fall and see all those black bandanas waving back at me.”

Last year the adventure-seeking road veteran joined Parker McCollum on tour in addition to playing festivals and in front of 15,000+ fans a night on Jason Aldean’s 42-city Highway Desperado tour. To close out 2023 he headlined a slew of shows of his own before joining Ashley McBryde on the UK leg of her tour earlier this year.

Kelly Clarkson: Kenny Chesney Lands 2nd #1, 54,638 at Soldier Field

When Kenny Chesney gets on a roll, it seems like nothing slows down the songwriter/superstar from East Tennessee. Having already extended his record on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart with “Take Her Home,” his 33rd No. 1, Mediabase bookends the achievement with a No. 1 on their chart as well.

“The thing about songs that are pieces of people’s lives,” Chesney says, “is almost everyone can see themselves in there. To me, I’m singing the reality people are living, and trying to show them how sweet life can be if you really look. I love that this song has connected so deeply.”

The man the Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road” and the LA Times hailed as “The People’s Superstar” has been connecting on an even deeper level on the road. Having smashed his previous sales and attendance records at almost every stadium this summer, Chesney’s show at Chicago’s Soldier Field saw almost 2,000 more people fill their historic stadium than his prior best, a fact not lost on the life-affirming powerhouse.

“It’s been the most amazing summer,” Chesney allows. “No Shoes Nation has always been this passionate, insane country without borders with people who come together, raise our pirate flag and enjoy life in ways that inspire me. I didn’t know you could have some of the responses we’ve had on this tour, and just when you think it can’t get any louder or more heartfelt, Chicago happens.”

Not only was Chicago bringing their best singing voices, the Windy City became the site of another first. Poncho, Chesney’s golden doodle, made him onstage debut, and as the doggy daddy noted, “He might like the stage almost as much as I do!”

Having sold out Lincoln Financial Field in March, adding tickets and selling those out, too, along with Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium and three straight nights at Foxborough, Mass.’s Gillette Stadium, Chesney has seen his already strong stadium numbers grow in unthinkable ways. Beyond a three day-advance-warning to come early at Northern Ohio’s Blossom Music Center, the hunger for his music continues growing 15 years after becoming the only country artist on Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Artists of the Last 25 Years.

To see that joy and freewheeling fun up close, tune into “The Kelly Clarkson Show” today to watch the small-town kids talk work ethic, high-intensity live shows, trying to kick back, college math, an honorary doctorate and the many flavors of Blue Chair Bay® Rum. Talk only, no music, the lead guest appearance brings out the best in both performers.

“Kelly Clarkson is big fun,” Chesney says. “Two long segments with her whip by, and all you’ve done is laugh! Rather than asking the usual questions, she wants to know where the songs come from and why, and maybe a little college level math.”

Presented by Blue Chair Bay® Rum, the Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour runs throughout the summer.

George Strait: The King at Kyle Field is Largest Single Concert in U.S. History

With two new songs already available off his forthcoming Cowboys and Dreamers September 6 album, the demand for the King of Country has never been hotter as made clear at Saturday night’s show (6/15/24). The Texas native set a record for largest single ticketed concert in U.S. History* and a new record for Texas A&M Kyle Field for a single event** with 110,905 fans in attendance for George Strait: The King at Kyle Field with special guests, fellow Lone Star natives and MCA labelmates, Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman.

With energy pulsating throughout the bowl, Strait greeted the record crowd after his second song of the night, “I Got A Car,” taking it all in. “It's so good to be here with Catie Offerman and Parker McCollum - let's have another big round of applause for those two. And happy birthday Parker, my gosh, what a day, what a place to spend your birthday, right?

“Man, I wanna whoop so bad, but you can't whoop if you're not/you don't go to school here? (pausing) Can I whoop, one time, just once? ‘Whoop!’” to which the crowd erupted. “I had to do it - my son said it's okay if I did that, he graduated from A&M…

“We got a lot of songs to play for y'all today/tonight. What a beautiful night, too, right? We got some new stuff that we're gonna do also, we got a new album ... out in September called Cowboys And Dreamers, so we got some stuff from that we're gonna play from that for you also and we got a really special thing we're gonna do for you, so alright, what are we here for?!,” launching into “Here For A Good Time.”

Fans came early and stayed the weekend in the gig ‘em town, filling every hotel, bed & breakfast, and Airbnb within a 40-mile radius. Night-of-the-show, they were dancing in the aisles and rejoicing in a night of hit-soaked country.

Strait’s set included “Here For A Good Time,” “Check Yes or No,” “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” “Troubadour,” “Amarillo By Morning,” and “Take Me To Texas” as well as music off his anticipated new album: “MIA in MIA,” “Three Drinks Behind,” Jennings’ “Waymore’s Blues” and the unreleased “To The Moon.”

Strait paused midway through his set to turn the stage just over to Retired Lt. General Leroy Sisco, presenting his 118th home to hero, Sgt. Tiffany Baker, via Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Homes 4 Wounded Heroes Program. Additionally, through an ongoing front-row ticket raffle fundraiser benefiting the Jenifer Strait Foundation, powered by Propeller, at each of the last 17 shows Strait has signed and donated “the shirt off his back” for the charitable initiative. To date, the program has surpassed $1.1M raised for the foundation.

Four opportunities remain to experience Strait and his Ace in the Hole Band live, visit GeorgeStrait.com for more information.

KENNY CHESNEY Makes Another Record: 33 #1s, but Who's Counting?

Having broken his single night attendance records at stadium after stadium on his Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour, Kenny Chesney extends his own record for the most No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Reprising his beloved polaroids of life with “Take Her Home,” the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar continues creating songs that reflect how the people of No Shoes Nation live, breathe and love.

“It’s an amazing feeling, hearing the people singing it back to us,” Chesney says. “It reminds you how these songs really do hold pieces of actual lives inside them, how deeply people feel these records; they’re more than hits. But when you get that call, and they tell you it’s No. 1, you realize how many people are seeing themselves on the radio. To me, that’s why I started doing this.”

Having sold out Lincoln Financial Field in March, adding tickets and selling those out, too, along with Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium and three straight nights at Foxborough, Mass.’s Gillette Stadium, Chesney has spent 2024 connecting with his fans on a whole other level. Whether the shows, the tailgating, No Shoes Radio, Blue Chair Bay® Rum pre-games or sharing the stage with Uncle Kracker and Megan Moroney, it’s been all about friendship, good times and how life comes at you one day at a time.

“The energy and passion I’m feeling this summer is a whole new level,” allows the man the Wall Street Journal crowned “The King of the Road” a decade ago. “That heart and soul is so strong, it takes these songs to places we didn’t always realize they went. Last week when I was sick, they really brought it and sang with me in a way that changed everything.

“And it’s in songs like ‘Take Her Home,’ the ones that slow things down, where that desire to be in the moment really stands out. So, to stand onstage at Soldier Field and tell those fans their lives are No. 1, that this song is like them hitting the top of the charts? I can’t wait.”

Creating a space where people can be their best selves, BORN spanned the phases of life, chasing adventure and forging memories with the friends who know how to create the best of every moment. Having defined the sound of coming of age in the flyover in the 21st century, Chesney continues pursuing the best of what the world has to offer – and serving it up in song.

Playing hard and bringing a band that means business with him, there’s going to be a lot of reasons to celebrate in the Windy City. Once again presented by Blue Chair Bay® Rum, the Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour twists all the high velocity and screaming guitars to America’s favorite football stadiums for a night that makes summer official

Jenna Paulette Announces Sophomore Album ‘HORSEBACK’, Arriving Sept. 6

Working cowgirl and songstress Jenna Paulette has been hard at work on new music since signing with independent record label Leo33 at the beginning of this year. Approaching her new project happily married and with a baby on the way, Paulette is fully embracing all aspects of her life that have shaped her, including heartbreaks and newfound love, in her upcoming sophomore album HORSEBACK, arriving Sept. 6, 2024. Pre-save HERE.

“This record is a cumulation of perspectives I have from the moments and people that made me: rural, cowboy, America, my biggest heartaches leading to my healing, the men and women I’m so proud to come from and represent,” Paulette shared exclusively with Cowboys & Indians

“From the ‘ear break’ on the record ‘Prairie Primrose,’ which I literally wrote most of from the saddle, to one of my favorites to perform live, ‘Run the Damn Ball,’ to ‘The Prophet (Grandaddy’s Song),’ it’s all a picture of the perspectives and personalities I’ve been influenced by throughout my life. A body of work I can stand behind,” she adds.

With “Darlin’” and “Hang Your Hat” already available, Paulette is offering fans a further taste of what to expect from the album with “Wild Is Her Favorite Color,” out today. Written by ACM and CMA Award-winning songwriters Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey, “Wild Is Her Favorite Color” celebrates the freedom that comes with leaving your heart on your sleeve and living authentically.

“Being wild has always gotten a bad rap, but I’ve always felt wild,” Paulette reflected from the saddle on Instagram. “Not Fireball shots at 3 A.M. wild, but honeysuckle growing up an old fence post. Horse wide open in a pasture. Sunset on fire, wind in my hair kind of wild. The kind of wild that God smiles about because he’s the one that made the wild… Not people’s opinions, not my own opinions about myself, not the constraints of society, undomesticated but feminine. Ruled by her maker and not the things the world says will make her. Free to be whatever it is that truly makes me come alive. So yes, I’m wild. And I’m hoping that when I’m done with it, it won’t have such a bad rap.”

Listen to “Wild Is Her Favorite Color”  Below.

Paulette released The Girl I Was (Red Dirt Deluxe) in March, marking the one-year anniversary of The Girl I Was, which swiftly earned critical acclaim from outlets including People Magazine and Grammy.com. Written during a time in her life when she was navigating the end of a toxic relationship, The Girl I Was chronicled Paulette’s journey in overcoming heartbreak and self discovery.

Paulette is currently on the road with Aaron Watson as part of The Armadillo Dance Hall Tour. For more information on new music and upcoming shows, visit jennapaulette.com or follow @JennaPaulette on all social platforms.

About Jenna Paulette:
A CMT Next Women of Country honoree and an Apple Music’s Country Riser, singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette — a cowgirl who came of age amid the gritty realities of ranch life — is part of Nashville’s growing wave of female artists who are rewriting the rules and charting their own paths. Paulette settled in Nashville in 2015, where she struck up a mentorship with Ashley Gorley – a veteran songwriter with 60+ No. 1 tunes under his belt – which ultimately led to her publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music in June 2021. Since collaborating with songwriters Will Bundy, Rhett Akins and Jessie Jo Dillion, as well as opening for Mason Ramsey, Parmalee, John Michael Montgomery, Clay Walker and most recently Aaron Watson, Paulette has landed brand partnerships with Justin Boots, Boot Barn, Ely Cattleman and Ranch Water.

The deluxe version of her debut album, The Girl I Was (Red Dirt Deluxe), is available now, showcasing Paulette’s finely calibrated blend of toughness and sensitivity in tracks like “Country In The Girl” and “Pretty Ugly.” Wearing her heart on her sleeve, Grammy.com remarked The Girl I Was as “transformative,” noting it “fuses the sounds of Twain and Miranda Lambert, tackling mental health with the somber ‘You Ain't No Cowboy’ and waxing philosophical on ‘Country In The Girl.’” As Paulette continues to tease her sophomore project, she most recently released “Darlin’” and “Hang Your Hat.” She continued to spotlight her authentic western lifestyle last year, performing the national anthem at the National Finals Rodeo, making her Grand Ole Opry Debut and performing in multiple festivals including CMA Fest. Paulette recently signed with independent label Leo33. For more information, visit www.jennapaulette.com.

In a world that seems to be spiraling out of control, Kurt Deimer is a man with a very clear mission: Work Hard, Rock Hard, Play hard and Spread positivity. In fact, his mantra could be summed up: “Take the high road, do the right thing, encourage others.” It sounds like a tall order these days in a world full of warring factions. And it’s an unusual mission for a singer/songwriter vocalist whose music could be described as hard rock, even heavy metal – genres that are not always synonymous with positivity.

Deimer, for his part, describes his work as good old fashioned rock and roll. “And it’s as good a vehicle as any for spreading good vibes” he says. “I’m here to encourage others to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness,” he says. “I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I try to share that with others and be a beacon of hope for my listeners.”

That positivity and perseverance has paid off for the native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s not only launched a movie franchise, Hellbilly Hollow, by filming and starring in a feature length horror film of the same name. He’s also recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, James Brown and the Rolling Stones), his management team includes Brian Wheat, manager of TESLA who discovered him while opening for TESLA.

Chris Lord-Alge says he was drawn to Kurt’s originality as an artist. “I saw something completely different in Kurt, and that was the lure for me. He isn’t a typical rock or country artist – I love hearing him talk and narrating a story, and I was drawn to taking those stories and helping turn them into music. He’s a personality, he’s someone you want to talk to.”

Things have not always been positive in Deimer’s world. At age 20, as a young rock vocalist, he found himself in the grips of drug addiction. He later discovered he was using substances to medicate an underlying anxiety condition. At that young age, he quit drugs, got help for his anxiety and never looked back.

He eventually started buying and selling rental properties and used that money to start the first of several successful companies he owns. Despite making his mark in the business world, Deimer didn’t feel ready to settle down and “join the country club and play golf all day” – so at an age when most people start thinking about slowing down, he started to speed up.

Inspired by the artists that helped shape him – Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marleyand AC/DC, to name just a few – he started writing song lyrics.

Inspired by his love of movies and acting roles in films including the 2018 ‘Halloween’remake – where his character was killed by Michael Myers – and John Travolta’s ‘Trading Paint,’ he started hashing out a movie concept that became his eventual Hellbilly Hollow feature film and franchise.

Deimer has supported Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that highlighted material from his debut EP, that came out on November 19, 2021, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence. Along with many other supporting shows including TESLA, Drowning Pooland Yngwie Malmsteen all this within the first two years of touring.

For Deimer, the inspiration is to make the world a better place one song at a time, singing about the ills of the 21st century and offering solutions instead of excuses. “When people listen to my music, I want to help them decompress and feel better after a brutal day. That’s what music always did for me, and that’s what we need more of today.”

About Jelly Roll:

Award-winning, Grammy nominated Nashville native singer/songwriter Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) debuted Top 3 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart and #2 on the Top Country Album charts with his debut Country Album, Whitsitt Chapel (released June 2nd, 2023) - earning the biggest Country debut album in Billboard Consumption Chart history. Following his sweep at the 2023 CMT Music Awards where he earned 3 awards to become the most awarded artist of the night, the Billboard Country Power List Cover star and “country’s ‘most authentic’ new artist” (The New Yorker) received Billboard’s 2023 Breakthrough Award and the People’s Choice Award for Male Country Artist of the Year. Nominated for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Save Me (with Lainey Wilson)” at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, along with eight genre-spanning nominations at the 2024 iHeartRadio Awards and a win for best New Country and New Pop artist, Jelly Roll is one of three artists alongside Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs to have scored three Country Airplay #1s in 2023 and the first to do it with his first three singles. He has earned four consecutive #1s to date at Country radio and is “one of Nashville’s fastest rising stars” (The New York Times). A 4X winner at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards and the most nominated male at the 2023 CMA Awards, with five total nominations capturing his first CMA Award for New Artist of the Year, Jelly continues to break boundaries. His #1 hit single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt — set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights including a Platinum certification from the RIAA on the heels of his 28-week reign at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Most recently, “Save Me” earned Jelly his first ACM win for Music Event of the Year, and he just released his first single “I Am Not Okay” from his upcoming sophomore Country album, arriving later this year, following his four consecutive #1 singles: “Halfway To Hell,” “Save Me,” “Need A Favor” and “Son of A Sinner.”

Not just an artist but a humanitarian, Jelly Roll continues to resonate with fans on a global scale while racking up numerous milestones - from playing his sold-out hometown show for 18,000 fans at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to donating a recording studio at the juvenile detention center he served in as a teen, to the release of his record-breaking documentary by ABC News, “Save Me” - the most watched music documentary on the platform - to his visits with rehab centers and those incarcerated across the US. Featured by Nightline, GMA, GMA3, The New York Times, LA Times, The Tennessean, Billboard, Variety, American Songwriter, CMT and more, his self-built, unconventional industry rise and unique fan connection has garnered praise from numerous outlets, with Variety noting, “for everyone who’s facing the same struggles, Jelly Roll is their Springsteen,” and American Songwriter echoing, “with a string of accolades and an extremely dedicated following, Jelly Roll has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.”

It’s been a rough handful of years for British Columbia-based extremity-laced progressive rockers, Anciients. When the quartet unleashed their Voice of the Void album in 2016, the world appeared to be their oyster and things seemed ripe for the picking. They were coming off the success of their Heart of Oak debut from 2013, its ascendancy due in large part to a collective uptick in interest for involved, forward-thinking music. The public had moved beyond toe-dipping and tire-kicking, and were instead doing headfirst dives into exploring the likes of Opeth, Mastodon, Baroness, The Ocean, Intronaut and others who originally hailed from the extreme music underground, but had since grown, matured and scrubbed behind their ears to include heaping and healthy chunks from the outskirts of their record collections and influence pools.

The Band That Auto-Correct Loves to Fuck With™ shared stages with everyone from High on Fire and Goatwhore to Boris and Lamb of God, were in the midst of a European tour when they discovered they were JUNO Award (Canadian Grammy equivalent) winners in the heavy metal/hard rock category. The world was ready to accept Anciients into its welcoming arms. Anciients was gearing up to employ takeover methods, specifically their brand of thunderous rhythms and labyrinthine riffing bolstered by a road warrior mentality. And then, the momentum petered out and the band seemingly fell off the face of the earth.

Today, Anciients are ready and poised to resume their spirited quest for heavy metal paramountcy. There’s no doubt the band is back and with a stunning and beautiful collection of ten songs on offer in the form of new and third album, Beyond the Reach of the Sun, they are positioning to reestablish themselves as a dominant force for those who love windmilling their tresses around thoughtful tempo changes, complex harmonic layers and driving power chord shifting. But what the hell happened and where did they disappear to?

“Basically,” explains guitarist/vocalist Kenny Cook, “right before Voice of the Void was recorded, my wife had our first kid. She ended up having heart complications and almost passed away from it. We recorded the last record and once it came out, I was kind of just focusing on her, dealing with her health issues and keeping that in check. I wasn’t at the stage where I could be gone for half a year, especially with a new kid. Long story short, she’s happy and healthy now, but dealing with family issues was the main priority. It was a bit of a road.”

Adding to that bit of Anciients camp turmoil, guitarist/co-vocalist/co-founding member, Chris Dyck and the band parted ways in January of 2017. This left a gaping lineup hole at an inopportune juncture in the band’s timeline. Not only did Cook have to deal with the absence of his long-term song and lyric writing partner, but Dyck was also someone he had been splitting vocal duties with since the pair formed the band in 2009. And then, while helping his wife with her recovery, raising their new born and “because we wanted to raise our son in a small town environment,” the Cook family uprooted to Columbia-Shuswap four hours east of the Vancouver area, where drummer Mike Hannay, Brock MacInnes (Dyck’s replacement) and brand spanking new bassist Rory O’Brien still reside.

“We knew Brock from other bands he’d been in and we knew he’d be a great fit,” explains Cook. “He actually filled in for Chris on a tour we did back in 2015. As far as the vocals, I just found myself picking up the slack on both ends. It felt somewhat natural, it was definitely different. Doing the lyrics myself for the first time was somewhat daunting, but it was also something done out of necessity. But even when Chris was in the band I handled 80-90% of the vocals anyway, so it didn’t change all that much.”

Then, that whole COVID-19 thing you probably heard about once or twice hit in 2020 and put another restraining bolt on Anciients' activity, especially touring as the Canadians found themselves dealing with stricter travel restrictions and mandates than many other countries; most notably, not being able to cross the border for almost two years. Once the dust settled, Cook had to adjust to being the lone vocalist and how that impacted the material he was writing while navigating being creative with distance between Anciients’ members for the first time. Not a biggie, as in-person writing sessions are more of a rarity these days, but because of the time elapsed since Voices of the Void, things/interests/influences changed and the band ended up scrapping half of an album’s worth of material and starting fresh. When they put their heads down at the end of 2021 with the focus being Beyond the Reach of the Sun, what was revealed a year later was more streamlined and slithery, more chest-thumpingly direct, more epic and triumphant sounding. Riffs come in explosive layered packets. Leads, harmonies and melodies are more on par with wind-tussled mountain tops instead of sweaty bar shows and the band moves with finely honed, martial accuracy as conducted by Hannay’s rocket-in-the-pocket staccato swing and accents.

Songs like “The Torch” blaze with the shirtless glisten of ‘70s stadium rock power. “Cloak of the Vast and Black” swirls and whirls with a combination of hardcore intensity, grunge groove and expansive six-string parries. “In the Absence of Wisdom” is a hurricane-sized maelstrom of classic and prog rock elevated to grandiosity by a return to their growling sludge/death early years as the song/album concludes. The album’s first single, “Melt the Crown” mixes cues from legendary fellow hosers Rush and Harlequin, turn-of-the-millennium post-metal and the most psychedelic corners of the Rise Above Records roster.

“The new record has a lot more of our rock side,” Cook offers, “and leans towards those elements of our sound and personalities, whereas Voice of the Void was pretty crushing all the way through. With the new material we’ve tried to add more dynamics to the music and give the songs more room to breathe."

Album opener “Forbidden Sanctuary” is the soundtrack to exploration, of new worlds and sonic arrangement as sine-wave guitars pull from vintage Mercyful Fate covens and Krautrock communes with synths opening up novel textural avenues, as they do on the ethereal wispiness and space rock/sci-fi soundscapes of the instrumental “Candescence.” Beyond the Reach of the Sun sees synths and keyboards making their first appearance on an Anciients record and were played by producer/mixer Jesse Gander and Justin Hagberg at the former’s Rain City Recorders studio. In addition to augmenting the album with his skill on the black and whites, Hagberg — a member of the recently reunited 3 Inches of Blood —  also helped Anciients navigate a significant last-minute hurdle, one that threatened to pull the reins back on their comeback roar.

“We lost our bass player literally a month before we were going in to record and were kind of up shit’s creek. Justin also plays in a band called Ritual Dictates with Rory and is the one who brought his name up.”

O’Brien, a former member of Vancouver’s Bushwhacker, was absolutely interested when approached by Anciients.

“We got lucky and he saved our asses at the last minute.”

Cook stepped up to the challenge of being the sole lyricist to drape Beyond the Reach of the Sun in deeply personal expressions of the inner turmoil, fear and isolation he’d experienced in himself and saw in others over the past few years. There were moments where he didn’t know whether loved ones were going to pull through and what life was going to look like were tragedy come to pass. Mental health and people living life without being able to see any light at the end of the tunnel became a very prevalent theme to tracks like “Despoiled” and “Beyond Our Minds.” And while the line that became the album’s title is taken from a David Attenborough-narrated Planet Earth documentary, it speaks more to the coming and going of despondency when one doesn’t know how dark the darkness is going to get, as in “Is It Your God,” which pulls from the manifestation of grief and how it can shatter belief systems.

“That one is a little more personal to me and my situation,” Cook says somberly. "I had a good friend of mine from when I was younger pass away from cancer. His mother was super-religious and there were ideas taken from her questioning how could something like that happen to her when she had such a strong faith.”

The title and themes of stripped away hope and piled on anguish and tumult were parlayed into the album’s spectacular cover art. Created by Adam Burke (Nightjar Illustrations), the drawing is part-pulp novel cover, part-Franzetta landscape, part-sci-fi movie poster and all a vast illustration one can easily lose themselves in while the record spins in the background.

“We gave him the concept and basic outline of how we wanted the cover to look and he took it to a whole new dimension. It turned out pretty wild!”

With all being said and done, Anciients have returned! They stand ready to ascend the prog metal ladder and get back to doing what they do best with a weighty and dense, but wholly accessible, album. It’s a collection of ten songs that possesses the ability to have those furiously banging heads also tapping into their power of self-reflection and contemplation to ponder the finality of existence, the value of life and their place in the universe.

“Totally! We’re going to take as many of the opportunities that come to us. The hiatus is over and I think with the new members and everyone being on the same page we’re ready to get out there as soon as possible. We missed out on a huge block after the last record, so we’ve got to make up for lost time. Now that everyone is happy and healthy, we plan to hit it hard.”

And So I Watch You From Afar Share Video for "North Coast Megafauna"

IRISH LEFT FIELD ROCK INSTRUMENTALISTS AND SO I WATCH YOU FROM AFAR RELEASE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE "NORTH COAST MEGAFAUNA"

TRACK LIFTED FROM BAND'S FORTHCOMING FULL-LENGTH, MEGAFAUNA, DUE OUT AUGUST 9 — PRE-ORDER

BAND ALSO SHARES VIDEO FOR PREVIOUS SINGLE "DO MÓR" — WATCH

Stalwart Irish post-rock outfit And So I Watch You From Afar have released "North Coast Megafauna," the latest single from their forthcoming seventh album Megafauna, which releases August 9 via Berlin's Pelagic Records and Velocity Records in the U.S.

Listen here. Watch the video below.

The clip echoes the band's tribute to their homeland throughout the album. Their beloved places of Belfast, the Irish coast, and the surrounding forests are brought to life here by the intense, almost possessed choreography of dancer Sarah Flavelle.

The band also released a visualizer for the previously released track "Do Mór." Watch here.

A tribute to the two places the collective call home, their beloved Portrush on the Irish North Coast and the beating heart that is Belfast, Megafauna is headstrong exploration and heartfelt appreciation with all the intuition, intimacy and humor of four firm friends approaching their 20th year as a band and a nod to the Irish roots that simultaneously ground and propel them forward.

Like so many other bands and creatives throughout the pandemic, ASIWYFA found themselves suddenly stationary, with any plans outside of their immediate vicinity put on indefinite hold. However, where this might have seen other acts falter, ASIWYFA took comfort in their communal bond and, as soon as they were able, began writing a record that quickly became a love letter to the communities they call home.

The intent behind Megafauna is clear from the outset. Two guitars, bass, and drums all recorded in a week erupt into effervescent life in an endorphin rush of collaboration and togetherness after the physical and psychological wilderness of isolation.

The similarly named opening track "North Coast Megafauna" serves as an appropriate anthem for the record and indeed for a band reinvigorated too. Proudly wearing their noisy math-rock, free jazz and experimental indie melting pot on their sleeves, ‘North Coast Megafauna’ is an eclectic, care-free confrontation of ASIWYFA’s joyously jarring collection of musical influences and cultural inspirations.

Megafauna is the band's first new music since 2022's critically-acclaimed Jettison,an ambitious multi-media ensemble piece packed full of experimentation and collaboration. Jokingly referring to Jettison as their mature record’, the band framed the writing of Megafauna around the their long-running mantra of "DO THE SCARY THING," which sees ASIWYFA constantly hurtling towards newness, towards progress, evolution and the unknown. Whilst the new record is ASIWYFA taking on a more familiar, traditional form; in this post-Jettison, post-pandemic world, Megafauna is a deafening and defiant statement of intent from the band's propulsive core — a clarion call for the communities that shape them, a resplendent celebration of togetherness over separation.-

And So I Watch You From Afar's Rory Friers says the title track is "one of our favorite tracks on the record. A love letter to the North Coast, our friends there, the energy, the cold days skateboarding, the long summers in the sea, our beloved music venue, the closeness of it all. It has the heart of the land there with the weight of the North Atlantic."

Sanguisugabogg Share "Permanently F**ked" Video

Ohio's notorious, boundary-pushing, and bloodsucking death metal outfit Sanguisugabogg — Cody Davidson, drums; Drew Arnold, guitars/bass; Devin Swank, vocals; and Ced Davis, guitars/bass — have shared the video for the brand new and gloriously irreverent single "Permanently Fucked." The video finds the band in performance mode... with some bloody imagery woven throughout.

Watch it Below

"The meaning of the song is a drastically blown out of proportion way of showing how much you love someone," the band states. "We got inspiration of the song from the 2018 horror film Pet where Dominic Monaghan's character volunteers himself as a vice for Ksenia Solo's character so she can torture and humiliate them and they're bound to their cage so she doesn't free the urge to murder someone instinctively and doesn't get arrested or imprisoned for killing people."

This is the first taste of new music since last year's 2023's Homicidal Ecstasy. That album followed 2021's Tortured Whole. The band continues to slice up uncompromising, in-your-face, and not-for-the-weak death metal that siphons inspiration from early to mid-'90s and early '00s death metal and brutal death metal/grindcore presented in their own style with a unique twist that pleases every style of metal maniac.

SÓLSTAFIR Shares New Song + Music Video “Hin Helga Kvöl”

Icelandic post-rockers SÓLSTAFIR are pleased to now reveal the brand new single, “Hin Helga Kvöl!" Meaning "The Holy Torment," the new offering conjures up nostalgia as it harkens back to the band's heavy roots while still layered with thick ambience and deep emotion. The song can be found along with a music video, which was directed by Karl Ágúst Guðmundsson for Polarama, at Below.

"It is a song about dying,” says guitarist/vocalist Aðalbjörn Tryggvason (guitar, vocals). “It is

about the realization that you will die sooner than later and consciously witnessing the end of your own world. It is one’s own personal idea of Ragnarök - or Armageddon. What happens afterwards? Are we reborn or are we simply food for the worms…”

SÓLSTAFIR recently announced signing to Century Media Records. They are no strangers to the music world with their 20+ years of performing across the globe as they consistently amaze audiences with their hearts on their sleeves from the first note. With a full catalog of truly exceptional timeless hits to perform, as well as some much-anticipated new music, the atmospheric Icelandic rock n’ roll sound that is uniquely SÓLSTAFIR always delivers to those who bear witness to their epic sets that take you on a journey through the ice and snow, fire and lava and breathtaking soundscapes of their homeland.

VESTIGE Unveil Total Package on First Single

VESTIGE formed during an intense period of individual turmoil. But after vocalist and guitarist Théodore Rondeau and his old Naraka bandmates Pierre-André Krauzer (bassist) and Quentin Regnault (drums) bonded with guitarist Thomas Petit over a shared love for metal innovators like Alcest and Deftones, together, the four-piece embarked on their own journey toward a modern vision of metal that's both cathartic and crushing.

Last year, Vestige achieved their first milestone by signing with Season of Mist, even though they had yet to release any music. This year, the band have played several shows in their native France, including a recent date with Celeste. Now, people all over the world can hear the first glimmer of their debut album, Janis, with lead single "Deviens la Nuit".

"'Deviens La Nuit' catalyzes everything that Vestige represents in a single piece of music", Rondeau says. "Between deep melancholy and the violence of realization, it marks the beginning of the journey that is Janis".

Watch the colorfully strobing video for "Deviens la Nuit", which was directed by Mathie Ezan (Cult of Luna, Hans Zimmer) Below.

Janis comes out September 6 on Season of Mist.

Vestige draw inspiration from modern metal innovators like Alcest and Deftones, but "Deviens la Nuit" encapsulates all the individual pieces that make this band unique. Within the span of 5 minutes, they shift seamlessly from chugging riffs and tortured growls to melodic shoegaze and atmospheric post-metal before closing with a doomy and dissonant, head-banging breakdown. It's here, within this dark night of the soul, that they bring us to the edge of despair so that we can feel what it's like to be born anew.

"Cathartic, gentle, violent but enveloping, 'Deviens La Nuit' is the transformation and realization of the condition in which Theodore composed it", Vestige says. "We hope that this song will invite you to experience this introspective journey with us".

Théodore Rondeau, the creative initiator behind VESTIGE, embarked on a journey of forming the band during a turbulent phase in his life. Emerged as a creative vessel for a complicated emotional journey, the band transcends the boundaries of individual therapy into a collaborative force that hopefully resonates with the feelings that may be all too common for the human experience.

With a profound connection to their craft, VESTIGE pour their souls into their debut album, infusing it with a captivating blend of melancholy, desperation, and catharsis. The music serves not only as an expression of their turmoil, but as a conduit for listeners to navigate the complexities of their own emotions. Through this process, VESTIGEbecomes a project with the potential to connect with people on a profound level, forging a collective experience through the universal language of music.

The formation of VESTIGE’s lineup reads like a musical destiny unfolding: Pierre-André Krauzer on the bass, Quentin Regnault on drums, and Théodore on vocals and guitar. They first crossed paths during their tenure in Naraka, a band that shared stages with icons like Cradle of Filth and Alcest. This initial connection laid the groundwork for the formation of the band. Not long after, the addition of Thomas Petit on the second guitar solidified the lineup, bringing a sense of completeness to the ensemble. The band’s sonic identity now established; VESTIGE was ready to share this experience with the world.

The signing with Season of Mist brings the band’s first milestone, allowing VESTIGE to share their journey in the form of their debut album, Janis. Poised for release in late 2024, the album is a culmination of their collective efforts and a statement of the band’s arrival in the heavy music scene. Weaving through atmospheric shoegaze textures, melodic landscapes and intense, tormented moments that reflects the emotional spectrum of the human experience, the band established a foothold into the genre of modern metal.

Beyond the studio, VESTIGE is gearing up for a series of live performance in 2024, setting the stage for an introspective musical experience that brings raw and authentic energy. A cathartic release that pulls in the listener into the emotional depths the band has to bring.

Autumn Kings Drop Video for New Single "Hellhound"

Pop-rock band AUTUMN KINGS have dropped the video for their latest single "HELLBOUND," as heard on SiriusXM's Octane.

Watch the video, directed by Henry Nadasdi, Below.

"'HELLBOUND' speaks to the story of an individual who is fighting their demons, and digging to discover the root cause of the psychological bleeding they are experiencing," says the band's Jake Diablo about the track. "After digging long and hard, they realize that the solution is right in front of them. Wake up, cut out the 'victim' mentality, and utilize the gift of choice that we each possess to do what is necessary to improve our lives."

The band's prior single "Sleep When I'm Dead" clocked over 1.2 million streams on Spotify and has been top 20 on Octane since February 1, amassing over 500 spins during that period and reached No. 37 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart, including official adds at WRIF/Detroit, Music Choice, WIIL/Chicago, WHXR/Portland, and many more.

Last fall, the band dropped their video for "Go For Gold." Watch it here.  It's a super catchy jam that will live rent-free in your brain. The accompanying visual strings together performance footage and tells the band's story. It's like a digital bio set to music.

The band has had its music played on Football Night In America; at Detroit Red Wings games; in Major League Baseball stadiums; and on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.  They spent the summer of 2023 touring Pacific and Japanese military bases and have opened for Bush, Dorothy, Tea Party, X Ambassadors, and Mutemath.

Stay tuned for more from Autumn Kings.

Canadian indie folk trio Wild Remedy presents debut EP 'Songs From Home' and grounding video for 'Wild Remedy'

"Channelling hope, their heartfelt delivery fosters a sense of connection with the artist rooted in the human condition and shared experience... Lingering long after the last note fades, their music is a heartfelt invitation to join them in their grassroots hope-filled journey of personal growth, expression and inner reflection" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Wild Remedy's inevitable success will rest entirely on their undeniable raw talent... utterly captivating. The band creates music that feels eternally relevant, their voices blending seamlessly to ground us emotionally before launching us into a world of soaring melodies" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Canadian indie folk trio Wild Remedy presents their debut 'Songs From Home' EP, and the video for 'Wild Remedy', created and animated by: Jordan Van Der Linden.

The EP is an honest collection about the realities of growing up and becoming, all set to dance-worthy rhythms and unforgettable melodies. Making music that radiates like a beacon of hope, this all-female trio of Ottawa-born musicians' music is rooted in a love for chilling harmonies and all things folk.

In these five tracks, Wild Remedy breathes fresh life into the Canadian folk genre by taking listeners on a journey of self-discovery to an inspiring soundtrack that will leave a lasting echo in the listener's heart. 'Songs From Home' is Wild Remedy's invitation to be part of something truly inspiring, invigorating and soul-nourishing. Their endearing brand of storytelling is also a vulnerable reflection of the trio’s heart and a place where listeners can find solace and contentment in their music.

Wild Remedy is made up of Amy Russett, Colleen Roberston and Shay Mahoney, who now has one foot in Ottawa and one in Montreal. Influenced by everything from alternative pop to folk-rock, gospel to disco, the band has been an emerging force in the Canadian folk scene since 2022, entertaining audiences with their catchy originals, new takes on folk classics, and haunting harmonies.

With strong harmonies and upbeat folk acoustics as strong points, Wild Remedy's songs range from a classic stomp-and-holler sound that makes you want to dance, to thought-provoking indie vibes that leave the listener feeling uplifted. Wild Remedy spins a beautiful sonic web between singer-songwriter offerings, indie pop and Canadian folk - perhaps what it might sound like if Joni Mitchell and Boygenius had a not-so-secret folk band.

“The release of this EP is monumental not only in our musical career as a band, but also our journey as artists and musicians, ourselves. Each song is a glimpse into fractions of our life stories, and to be sharing it with the world is a privilege. These songs have been written as a result of some of the hardest moments we’ve lived through over the last two years, but to take those challenges and make them into music is such a beautiful resolution to those stories. We’re eternally grateful to be on this journey together and with each person who listens,” says Shay Mahoney.

The band recently released the effervescent near-title track 'Home Song', about which Mahoney notes, "I was thinking about how life might be different if I had chosen a different career path, lived in a different city, or maybe just stayed home in Ottawa after high school. But as I thought about it, I discovered that more things make up ‘home’ than we realize. And ‘Home Song’ was born from this discovery: I could wander ‘round the globe, and home would still be found in the places where – and in the people with whom – I know I belong.”

The EP also includes 'What I Did Find', 'Wild Remedy' and two folk offerings that stir the heart and echo the bright sound and iconic harmonies the band has become known for.  Paying homage to their folk roots, their music offers the simplicity found in many Americana-Country songs, while drawing from the dynamic storytelling key of indie-folk.

Having bonded over their mutual love of music and songwriting, the trio met in 2020 and finally and made their local debut in 2022, performing at farmers markets around the Ottawa area. With Amy’s powerhouse vocals and guitar, Colleen’s smooth alto tones, and Shay’s ability to sing and play anything (including guitar, mandolin, cajon and harmonica), folks started to take notice. In 2023, the band released their first two original single songs, involving producer Nate Hardy, which were met with loads of love and grew them a grassroots fanbase.

'Home Song' is out now everywhere digitally, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. The full 'Songs From Home' EP will be released on June 14. Wild Remedy's EP release party takes place in Ottawa on June 21, followed by 'The Wild Tour' with fellow Canadian indie folk trio Wild Bloom, and a handful of shows in July and August.
