Following a decade of setting the standard for hardcore and metal as a member of Bad Seed, Harm's Way and Nails, vocalist and guitarist Andy Saba banded together with kindred spirits Danni Crockett and Eli Gerrity over an addiction to all things heavy. Channeling thick Sabbathian rhythms, Manowar's majesty and the hypnotic ass-shaking of Queens of the Stone Age, the Wilkes-Barre power trio have declared a new age for true heavy metal.

"We decided it was time to let the Apocalyptically loud horses of metal run free again, and shine a light on every color of the Dark Rainbow of Metal", Saba says.

This year, The Virgos released their third and finest full-length. "Lord Have Mercy is a triumph in multiple heavy musical styles", writes Swim to the Sound. "Fans of everything from melodic hardcore to goth rock to stoner metal will be able to find something to love here". While familiar to lovers of Heaven and Hell, Into Glory Ride, Type O Negative and Lucio Fulci, the album's full-throttled blast of psychedelic pyrotechnics is unlike anything you've heard before or since.

"The theme of Lord Have Mercy is that we missed out on the future", explains Saba. "Utopia isn't happening. We're going backwards now. Superstition, devilry, war, plagues, revolution...it's the Dark Ages again. So let's get with the times. Medieval times call for Medieval responses. If you want to understand the headspace I was in while writing this album, watch Fulci's 1983 movie Conquest several dozen times. It's all in there".

Kreator Release Video for Scorching New Single "Satanic Anarchy"

Metal titans KREATOR have unleashed "Satanic Anarchy," the brand new single from their highly anticipated sixteenth full-length, Krushers Of The World, which will be out on January 16 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The song bears all the hallmarks of KREATOR's best material of the last few decades — fast-paced thrash riffs, a catchy, anthemic chorus, and a masterful guitar solo — all wrapped into three-and-a-half minutes.

After paying homage to Dario Argento's cult horror classic Suspiria with their last single "Tränenpalast" and its corresponding video, KREATOR further prove their affinity for the horror genre by referencing another classic movie in the music video for "Satanic Anarchy." Released 10 years after Suspiria, Clive Barker's Hellraiser (1987) is known for being just as influential and groundbreaking for modern horror by combining intense psychological thrills with graphic gore.

“Burn The Candle is a song about the divide being driven into our societies. Hatred is being normalized right in front of our eyes. No one is immune to it, we are being fed constant direction to build fortresses around our hearts because it’s a war out there, and so lead your ego into battle. This song yells out to people, divided we are like sheep waiting to be led to a slaughter. So proudly we wave the triple-edged sword driven into the side of humanity: greed, pride, lust. I know eventually we open our eyes, but for how much longer will we burn the candle at both ends.”

Coatesville, Pennsylvania’s noise-driven trio BOOZEWA will hit the road this December for a run of Southern US dates with Rhode Island heavies COMA HOLE and HUSBAND LOST AT SEA opening . The tour runs December 4 through 12 and supports BOOZEWA’s new Split 12” album with underground noise collective NOWHERE, released on December 2 through DeepRest Records.

Formed in 2020, BOOZEWA has steadily built a reputation for its raw, art-first approach to heavy music. The band features Jessica Baker on bass, Rylan Caspar on guitar, and mRc on drums and vocals. Their sound draws from KARP, SONIC YOUTH, NIRVANA, GREEN RIVER, BLACK FLAG, and MELVINS. The trio has been praised as the valium version of SONIC YOUTH and THE PIXIES and the heirs apparent to the KARP throne. Known for their DIY roots, BOOZEWA’s catalog includes multiple releases on DeepRest Records, including First Contact, Deb, Developing Good Health, Maybe I’m A Bird, Bon Vivant, and now the new Split 12”.

Mawiza Release Live Session from Gojira frontman's Silver Cord Studios

While already Chilean Grammy winners, this year, Mawiza continued their rise as a guiding force for indigenous metal. Behind their critically-acclaimed new album ÜL, the modern day Mapuche warriors appeared on magazine covers, took the stage at major summer festivals and brought home a LIT Music Award.

Today, Mawiza are capping off 2025 by releasing a special performance from Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier's Silver Cord Studio. Introduced by ceremonial Mapuche chanting, this session features the thunderous stomp of "Wingkawnoam", the towering "Mamüll Reke", earthshaking lament "Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan" and other defiant anthems from ÜL. Fittingly, the band closed their Silver Cord session with a rousing cover of Gojira's "Amazonia".

"In the winter season of 2024, Mawiza arrived at Silver Chord Studio in New York, right in the middle of the Northern summer. We came answering an invitation from Joe Duplantier", recalls Mawiza's vocalist and guitarist Awka. "We traveled light, almost with nothing, the way bands from the bottom usually move. By trusting more in our newen than in any objects, we knew that if the path was true, the music would find its own tools. And that's exactly what happened. Joe welcomed us with a generosity that still moves us, a kind of care for guests that feels very close to what we are taught since childhood in our nation. He didn't hesitate to lend us his own instruments so we could shape the noise we carry inside".

"Silvercord felt like a crack in reality for us", Awka continues, "metal breathing from the walls, the city howling outside, and us walking with the shadow of our ancestors over a faraway land. The north of Abya Yala has ancient guardians; we felt them watching, testing us, opening the way only because we arrived with respect and memory.

Frontman Cristian Machado shares powerful insight into the song’s meaning:

“Burn The Candle is a song about the divide being driven into our societies. Hatred is being normalized right in front of our eyes. No one is immune to it, we are being fed constant direction to build fortresses around our hearts because it’s a war out there, and so lead your ego into battle. This song yells out to people, divided we are like sheep waiting to be led to a slaughter. So proudly we wave the triple-edged sword driven into the side of humanity: greed, pride, lust. I know eventually we open our eyes, but for how much longer will we burn the candle at both ends.”

DUSTIN LYNCH’S FUNDRAISING EFFORTS FROM SOLD-OUT TENTH ANNUAL HOMETOWN BENEFIT SHOW AID EDUCATION

Hosting his annual DUSTIN LYNCH AND FRIENDS BENEFIT CONCERT at his former high school, Tullahoma High School, for the tenth year on Tuesday night (12/2), Tullahoma, TN-native Dustin Lynch raised over $32K for two local organizations making a direct impact on children and families in Coffee County: Bel Aire PTO Inclusive Playground, which is raising funds to build the school’s first inclusive playground for special needs children, and Isaiah 117 House, which provides a safe, comforting home environment for children awaiting foster placement. Likewise, toys were collected for Toys for Tots for the area. The evening also featured special guest appearances from hit songwriters Ben Johnson, Josh Thompson, and Austin Shawn.

Fresh off a landmark year that delivered his milestone 10th #1 with “Chevrolet (feat. Jelly Roll),” Lynch continued his run of high-impact moments throughout 2025. Currently co-headlining the nationwide TWO FOR THE ROAD TOUR with Scotty McCreery, the MULTI-PLATINUM entertainer is performing to packed audiences across the country with a career-spanning set that blends his signature hits, new music like his current Country radio single “Easy To Love,” and newly expanded influences. Intoxicated is a thrash/death metal band from Altamonte Springs, Florida, originally formed in 1993. San Diego's NUKEM follows in the footsteps of thrash metal's founding fathers, producing the kind of time-tested, neck-breaking thrash that invokes deep nostalgia while still sounding fresh and modern.

The thrashers are now unleashing a vicious new single, "Torture, Murder, Mutilate!" which was inspired by the band Death. The track can be found along with a lyric video Below.

NUKEM vocalist and guitarist Steve Brogden comments, "'Torture, Murder, Mutilate!' We crafted this track after wrapping up our tour with Death To All & Suffocation, featuring legendary Death members Gene Hoglan, Steve DiGorgio & Bobby Koelble, alongside Max Phelps shredding through the space once ruled by Chuck. This track is deeply rooted in Death's influence, having had the privilege of their music as our nightly soundtrack, it definitely left its mark on us. Blending a touch of death metal with our Nukem style of Thrash, it made for a pretty brutal track!”

WORMWITCH to Headline Canadian Run in January 2026

The band comments, "Wormwitch is finally making our long overdue return to the great Canadian shield, this time joined by our western brethren in Scalding. These are sure to be five frigid evenings of unhinged Canadian metal, square in the middle of what is predicted to be a particularly unforgiving winter.”

The most influential black metal band in history returns with their seventh studio album, Liturgy of Death.

With this new chapter, Mayhem once again cement their reputation as one of the most relentless forces in extreme metal. Nearly 40 years into its career, the band turns its gaze toward the unavoidable truth of mortality. Liturgy of Death explores the philosophy of mortality with stark, uncompromising clarity. The album presents death not as an ending, but as a universal law that touches all life and exposes the fragility of human existence. This impermanence becomes a call to live with full intensity, for every gain and loss ultimately falls back into the same silence. Echoing ancient philosophies, the album portrays life as a transitional state and death as a gateway to a higher form of being, while the solemn, dark beauty of death permeates the entire work.

The track unravels the collapse of being through ritualistic chants, Latin invocations, and blistering blast beats that echo like the pulse of annihilation. Las Vegas hardcore firebrand, Roman Candle share brand new single "Nothing Is Original" today, arriving with an accompanying music video. Speaking on today's release, vocalist Piper Ferrari shares

“’Nothing Is Original’ was the first song we wrote for the new record, and it set the emotional temperature for everything that followed. Those early lines—‘holier than thou / holier than me’—opened the door to a kind of raw self-interrogation we hadn’t tapped into before. It became the blueprint for the entire album: messy, honest, and painfully human.”

Since joining Sumerian Records, Roman Candle have released the critically acclaimed singles "Fire In The Night Sky Forever."and "This Band Has Led Me To Places I Wouldn't Go With A Gun," establishing themselves as one of the most vital voices in contemporary hardcore. The band has amassed 2.8 million streams across all platforms and 400,000 YouTube views, building a devoted following through relentless live performances and emotionally resonant songwriting.

The band will be ending the year on a high note as they join Norma Jean on the California dates of the "Oh God, The Aftermath" Anniversary Tour, beginning December 6th in Bakersfield.

ABOUT ROMAN CANDLE

Roman Candle is a visceral and emotionally charged hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada, built around the creative core of Piper Ferrari (vocals) and Jonas Vece (guitar). Emerging from the ashes of their former project sowithout., the two formed Roman Candle with a vision to push the boundaries of hardcore through vulnerability, intensity, and intentionality.

Rooted in the lineage of bands like Saetia, Touché Amoré, and Poison the Well, Roman Candle blends classic “screamo” sensibilities with a modern edge—balancing raw catharsis and poetic tension. The Amity Affliction + August Burns Red Announce Co-Headline Tour for Spring 2026

AUGUST BURNS RED + THE AMITY AFFLICTION will hit the road this coming spring for the Spring Horizons Tour. It kicks off April 10 in Worcester and runs through May 17 in Philadelphia. BOUNDARIES and HEAVENSGATE will serve as support.

"We've been talking in the background about touring with August Burns Red for years at this point," says Amity's Joel Birch. "It's so awesome that it's finally happening. We can't wait to get back to our second home and bring what we feel will be one of the best tours we've been a part of to all the cities we're hitting. The lineup is amazing, the venues are amazing, and we couldn't be more hyped for it — see you there."

"We're pumped to be joining forces with The Amity Affliction for what's sure to be the can’t miss metal tour of the spring," says August Burns Red. "ABR will be debuting a few brand new songs and bringing the shred alongside Boundaries, Heavensgate, and Dreamwake. We'll see you all this April and May for the Spring Horizons Tour!"

THE LOGO: "BIG PENNY" is the affectionate nickname for the Pennsylvania Avenue bridge in Lansing, Michigan, famous for its low clearance (12 feet) that frequently traps or damages the roofs of too-tall semi-trucks and other vehicles. The name comes from the large number of trucks that have been "eaten" by the bridge over the years, which has become a well-known local joke.
