Mawiza Release Live Session from Gojira frontman's Silver Cord Studios

While already Chilean Grammy winners, this year, Mawiza continued their rise as a guiding force for indigenous metal. Behind their critically-acclaimed new album ÜL, the modern day Mapuche warriors appeared on magazine covers, took the stage at major summer festivals and brought home a LIT Music Award.

Today, Mawiza are capping off 2025 by releasing a special performance from Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier's Silver Cord Studio. Introduced by ceremonial Mapuche chanting, this session features the thunderous stomp of "Wingkawnoam", the towering "Mamüll Reke", earthshaking lament "Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan" and other defiant anthems from ÜL. Fittingly, the band closed their Silver Cord session with a rousing cover of Gojira's "Amazonia".

"In the winter season of 2024, Mawiza arrived at Silver Chord Studio in New York, right in the middle of the Northern summer. We came answering an invitation from Joe Duplantier", recalls Mawiza's vocalist and guitarist Awka. "We traveled light, almost with nothing, the way bands from the bottom usually move. By trusting more in our newen than in any objects, we knew that if the path was true, the music would find its own tools. And that's exactly what happened. Joe welcomed us with a generosity that still moves us, a kind of care for guests that feels very close to what we are taught since childhood in our nation. He didn't hesitate to lend us his own instruments so we could shape the noise we carry inside". 

"Silvercord felt like a crack in reality for us", Awka continues, "metal breathing from the walls, the city howling outside, and us walking with the shadow of our ancestors over a faraway land. The north of Abya Yala has ancient guardians; we felt them watching, testing us, opening the way only because we arrived with respect and memory.

Frontman Cristian Machado shares powerful insight into the song’s meaning:

“Burn The Candle is a song about the divide being driven into our societies. Hatred is being normalized right in front of our eyes. No one is immune to it, we are being fed constant direction to build fortresses around our hearts because it’s a war out there, and so lead your ego into battle. This song yells out to people, divided we are like sheep waiting to be led to a slaughter. So proudly we wave the triple-edged sword driven into the side of humanity: greed, pride, lust. I know eventually we open our eyes, but for how much longer will we burn the candle at both ends.”

DUSTIN LYNCH’S FUNDRAISING EFFORTS FROM SOLD-OUT TENTH ANNUAL HOMETOWN BENEFIT SHOW AID EDUCATION

Hosting his annual DUSTIN LYNCH AND FRIENDS BENEFIT CONCERT at his former high school, Tullahoma High School, for the tenth year on Tuesday night (12/2), Tullahoma, TN-native Dustin Lynch raised over $32K for two local organizations making a direct impact on children and families in Coffee County: Bel Aire PTO Inclusive Playground, which is raising funds to build the school’s first inclusive playground for special needs children, and Isaiah 117 House, which provides a safe, comforting home environment for children awaiting foster placement. Likewise, toys were collected for Toys for Tots for the area. The evening also featured special guest appearances from hit songwriters Ben Johnson, Josh Thompson, and Austin Shawn.

Fresh off a landmark year that delivered his milestone 10th #1 with “Chevrolet (feat. Jelly Roll),” Lynch continued his run of high-impact moments throughout 2025. Currently co-headlining the nationwide TWO FOR THE ROAD TOUR with Scotty McCreery, the MULTI-PLATINUM entertainer is performing to packed audiences across the country with a career-spanning set that blends his signature hits, new music like his current Country radio single “Easy To Love,” and newly expanded influences. Death Thrash Metal Outfit INTOXICATED Announces New Album; Unleashes Video for Furious First Single

Florida death thrash metal outfit INTOXICATED will be unleashing their third full-length, 'The Dome,' on March 27, 2026 via Redefining Darkness! The band is celebrating this release with the vicious first single, "War Club," along with a music video that captures the band unrelenting dominance on stage. The clip can be found below.

Intoxicated is a thrash/death metal band from Altamonte Springs, Florida, originally formed in 1993. Led by vocalist and guitarist Erik Payne, the band quickly carved out a place in Florida’s extreme metal lineage, earning early mentorship from Death’s legendary Chuck Schuldiner. Their first run produced a trio of EPs—.08 (1994), Scars (1995), and Metal Neck (1997)—before releasing their third EP, Drain.

Following their initial rise, Intoxicated went on hiatus as Payne, along with Obituary’s Donald Tardy and Ken Andrews, joined the touring lineup for Andrew W.K. in 1999, a role they held for nearly two decades while performing around the world.

The band reactivated in 2019, returning with the Walled EP (2020) and their long-awaited debut full-length, Watch You Burn (2022). LAINEY WILSON DEBUTS NEW HOLIDAY VIDEO FOR “LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!” WITH BING CROSBY

Lainey Wilson shares a new video for her version of “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” with Bing Crosby today, which was created in partnership with Hershey’s and features animated versions of the two artists. Watch Below.

Thrash Metal Outfit NUKEM Unleashes Lyric Video for Death-Inspired New Single, "Torture, Murder, Mutilate!"

California has always been fertile ground for thrash metal, leading the charge with some of the genre's most legendary acts. San Diego's NUKEM follows in the footsteps of thrash metal's founding fathers, producing the kind of time-tested, neck-breaking thrash that invokes deep nostalgia while still sounding fresh and modern.

The thrashers are now unleashing a vicious new single, "Torture, Murder, Mutilate!" which was inspired by the band Death. The track can be found along with a lyric video Below.

NUKEM vocalist and guitarist Steve Brogden comments, "'Torture, Murder, Mutilate!' We crafted this track after wrapping up our tour with Death To All & Suffocation, featuring legendary Death members Gene Hoglan, Steve DiGorgio & Bobby Koelble, alongside Max Phelps shredding through the space once ruled by Chuck. This track is deeply rooted in Death's influence, having had the privilege of their music as our nightly soundtrack, it definitely left its mark on us. Blending a touch of death metal with our Nukem style of Thrash, it made for a pretty brutal track!”

"BLADED" comes loaded with radiance and ruin, which is captured beautifully in the flawless video by Zak Pinchin.

WORMWITCH to Headline Canadian Run in January 2026

WORMWITCH will be kicking off the new year with a headlining run across Canada along with support from Vancouver's SCALDING! The trek will kick off in Ottawa, ON on January 22 and will conclude on January 26 in Sherbrooke (QC). The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

The band comments, "Wormwitch is finally making our long overdue return to the great Canadian shield, this time joined by our western brethren in Scalding. These are sure to be five frigid evenings of unhinged Canadian metal, square in the middle of what is predicted to be a particularly unforgiving winter.”

WORMWITCH will be supporting their eponymous fourth studio album, which was released on July 26, 2024 via Profound Lore Records and can be found HERE. The band is pleased to reveal that they are working on new music with an EP expected later this year!

WORMWITCH sets out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today. 

Like black wings from an obsidian sky, WORMWITCH descended from the darkness in 2015, somewhere upon the rain-soaked woodlands of coastal British Columbia. Animated from the bones of several local punk and metal bands, the new entity set out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today. 

WORMWITCH released their first demo, 'The Long Defeat' in 2015, and shortly after signed to Prosthetic Records, under whom they released 'Strike Mortal Soil' (2017), 'Heaven that Dwells Within' (2019), and 'Wolf Hex' (2021). During that time the band toured with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Midnight, Necrot, Uada, Bewitcher, and many others, earning themselves a dedicated cult following and international critical praise. In 2022, WORMWITCH struck out to independently release a string of singles and embark upon several tours of North America. After a busy festival season, 2024 saw the release of a six-song split with Atlanta black-thrashers Sadistic Ritual.

Now, with blades meticulously honed and tempered under the light of a feral Canadian moon, WORMWITCH emerges once more to offer their fourth full length record. Simply self-titled, “Wormwitch” is a statement of a band coming into it’s own - a revelrous celebration of devilish speed, searing melody and diabolical intensity.

AUGUST BURNS RED + THE AMITY AFFLICTION will hit the road this coming spring for the Spring Horizons Tour. It kicks off April 10 in Worcester and runs through May 17 in Philadelphia. BOUNDARIES and HEAVENSGATE will serve as support.

Written by Ryan Follesé, Rory John Zak, Andy Albert, Trannie Anderson, and Kevin Bard, the song paints a vivid picture of what life looks like before finding that person who turns a house into a home. With easy charm and a dose of self-deprecating humor, the duo reflects on bachelor-life décor – a cable box on the floor, a lawn chair in the living room – and how love changes everything from the furniture to the feeling of belonging.

“Rory had a difficult breakup early this year,” says Ryan Follesé. “And then he came home to an empty house… a circumstance that, to songwriters, inspires a great song title: 'Lawn Chair In The Living Room.'"

“I decided to turn heartbreak into interior design, at least that’s what a guy would call it,” laughs Rory John Zak. “Ryan and I, along with our co-writers, thought this was the perfect time to turn lemons into lemonade.”

Following standout releases including “Together Again (feat. Jamey Johnson)” and “Girls Are Pretty,” the new release marks the final chapter in Ryan and Rory’s 2025 run, a year defined by breakout momentum and a packed tour schedule. MILWAUKEE METAL FEST 2026 Welcomes IRON REAGAN to Next Year's Edition

Milwaukee Metal Festival 2026 is pleased to now welcome IRON REAGAN as the first headliner for next year! In addition, the festival has previously announced ACID BATH, BELUSHI SPEED BALL, and MORTA SKULD!

VRSTY to Celebrate 5-Year Anniversary of "Cloud City" EP With New Acoustic EP + Band Shares "Shameless (Acoustic)"

Genre-blending and bending New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") are celebrating the five-year anniversary of their Cloud City EP with a twist.

The band will drop the four-song Cloud City (Archives) EP on December 12. It features acoustic renditions of three of the EP's original tracks ("Dig," "Pathos," and "Shameless"), giving these classic songs a fresh, reimagined flavor. 
 

The new EP also features an acoustic version of "YOU & I." While this song was does not appear on the original Cloud City EP that dropped via Spinefarm in 2020, it was written during that period of the band's history and is, well, from the VRSTY archive.

"I've always loved the kinda 'heavy softness that 'Shameless' had and always thought it would be cool to explore that more," says singer Joey Tyler. "I think I went into it with that mentality at first but then also just wanted to do this as a thank you for everyone who has supported 'Shameless' and Cloud City for so many years. After all, that song was the very FIRST time anyone ever listened to us and gave us a chance."

1349 Streams Full Performance Video for 'Winter Mass' Concert via Black Metal Promotion

True Norwegian black metal horde 1349 is now streaming the full performance of their 'Winter Mass' concert via Black Metal Promotion! The concert was captured on November 20, 2021 in the band's hometown of Oslo (NO) at the venue Parkteatret. Fans can now watch the entire set below.

'Winter Mass' will be released on November 28, 2025 via Season of Mist on vinyl, CD, and audio downloads; pre-orders can be found HERE.

1349 has also recently been announced among the first wave of bands to take the stage at next year's edition of Beyond the Gates Festival. The epic four-day metal event will take place once again in the heart of Bergen (NO) from July 29 - August 1, 2026. Tickets are available HERE.

The cover artwork and layouts for 'Winter Mass' were created by Kim Diaz Holm. The Norwegian artist has captured more than 2,000 concerts, often while standing to the side of the stage. Holm has worked with larger-than-life artists like Abbath but developed a special connection with 1349 after drawing them at both Inferno Festival and Hulen in 2012. Over the past 13 years, he has continued to document the band's incendiary live shows and even designed their merch. What he's created for Winter Mass draws fans even closer to fire. Sketched while he was headbanging in the pit, these drawings leap off the page with the same raw, dark spirit as their muse.

With their signature aural hellfire, 1349 embodies the original spirit of black metal.  

Unhappy with the direction the genre took during the mid-90s, in 1997, vocalist Ravn formed the 1349 with like-minded bassist Seidemann. The band’s current lineup – which is bolstered by guitarist Archaon and Frost (who also drums for Satyricon) – has been in place since 2001. Over the past two decades, they have ignited major European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Hellfest with their fiery performances and toured internationally with the likes of Cannibal Corpse and Carcass. Each of their eight studio albums have been inspired by the same guiding principal: to bring back the grimness, the eeriness and the primal emotions of Norwegian black metal.

Now, fresh from the ashes of their eighth album, The Wolf & The King, 1349 are releasing a new live album. Though recorded shortly after pandemic lockdown was lifted, 'Winter Mass' explodes out the gates with the band’s signature aural hellfire. This hour-plus set, recorded at Oslo's Parkteatret, enraptured their home crowd with apocalyptic spells from across their discography’s massive cauldron of chaos. Early classics like “Sculptor of Flesh” thrash with unchained madness. Recent favorite "Striding the Chasm" whips by at a blistering pace that could only be captured by cover artist Kim Diaz Holm, who drew the album’s artwork while headbanging in the pit.   

"I will always be here / In all ways in all times", snarls Ravn on hellacious cut "I Am Abomination". After three decades and counting, what was once a proclamation is now a testament to 1349's enduring firepower.
