GATECREEPER - Release Music Video For Infectious New Single, 'Caught In The Treads'

Arizona death metal specialists make their triumphant return with their first new track since 2021’s An Unexpected Reality. 'Caught in the Treads' is heavily rooted in the high-powered energy that fuels the contagious atmosphere that they have encountered in their recent global live endeavors. The single, produced and mixed by Kurt Ballou of CONVERGE fame, features infectious guitar melodies and drum passages that audiences will cling to with their refined attitude as the purveyors of the new wave of American death metal.

Chase H. Mason states, "Lyrically the song is about a supernaturally charged fleet of tanks that have been possessed by the souls of fallen soldiers. It's about revenge and crushing your enemies." Expanding on the music video he mentions, "As soon as we finished recording, we started sneaking this song into our live set. We brought along our own VHS camera and had our friends film the shows where they could."

ABOUT GATECREEPER

Formed in 2013, GATECREEPER have spent the last decade steadily climbing the death metal ladder. Their self-titled 2014 EP established instant credibility as purveyors of the old-school form. The band signed with Relapse, releasing their full-length debut Sonoran Depravation in 2016. Saul Announce Spring 2024 Tour Dates With Kingdom Collapse

The legendary and iconic rock band TESLA proudly announces the release of a limited edition, double LP, Real to Reel Vol I, that is set to hit the shelves on Record Store Day, April 20, 2024.

Originally released on June 5, 2007, Real to Reel Vol I is a cover song studio album that pays homage to classic rock tunes from the late 1960s and early 1970s. TESLAbrings their unique touch to these iconic tracks, recorded using analog tape and vintage equipment, with a dedication to preserving the raw, authentic sound of the era. That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like Bad Company, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000.

Richmond war metal duo ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE will release their third full-length, 'Vengeance of Eternal Fire,' on April 19, 2024 via Profound Lore Records! To celebrate this forthcoming onslaught, the band is now sharing the pummeling first single, "Sisera," along with a music video. The clip was created by Gaberealhell and can be found below.

The album drops on March 9 via Deko Entertainment, and the band will celebrate with a record release party at Cagney’s House of Rock n Davie, FL (5981 University Drive)  on March 9th. There will be a complete album play through starting at 9pm, followed by a short set with the band. Additionally, the band will be selling CD's and merchandise at the show.
 
The show will also serve as a really big homecoming weekend in Ft. Lauderdale. Ray was in a band called Defiance in South Florida in his late teens, and he was truly a beloved local legend before he went off to join Spread Eagle in New York. 

"SupaFly's music is on the heavier side," explains West. "It’s got an urban groove, emotionally-charged lyrics that come from a place of strength, and much vulnerability. And since I’m an open book, that’s cool with me.” 
 
SupaFly released a cover of the KC and The Sunshine Band classic “I’m Your Boogie Man” for Halloween, and immediately connected with fans (with the song's video getting over 30K views upon release). This was followed up by one of Ray’s most personal tracks, “Hypothermia”, about a talented musician with dreams of stardom, who ultimately becomes disillusioned with the life he’s chosen.  The accompanying lyric video finds Ray hitting his old stomping grounds – including a stop by the iconic Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ.
 
'The Vibe' drops the night after West and Spread Eagle perform at the very same venue, fresh off the Monsters of Rock 2024 appearance. West is excited to be able to play these shows in a place he has called home on and off for much of his life.
 
"It’s a beautiful thing to have the opportunity of playing back to back shows in Fort Lauderdale with both of my original projects, and I am extremely grateful. After stepping off the MORC2024, Spread Eagle will play 3/8/24, and then my SoFlo based band SupaFly will play our album release party on 3/9/24. It’s a chance to converge my past history with my present , and to have all my friends there to enjoy the live vibe and I couldn’t be more excited!”

KORPIKLAANI - Release Brand New Single & Video, 'Aita'

Finnish folk metal superstars KORPIKLAANI are happy to unleash 'Aita', the second single from their upcoming new studio album, Rankarumpu, which is due to be released on April 5th, 2024. 

'Aita' keeps up the full-speed ahead approach from the previous single, 'Saunaan'. The dizzying pace, a catchy chorus and a masterful violin/accordion duel make 'Aita' an absolutely irresistible tune that bears all trademarks the Finns are universally known and loved for. Folk metal at its best!

Composer Olli Vänskä commented: 
"'Aita' was actually composed as an instrumental track, or that was at least the intention. I sent a demo version to Jonne and when I was asking about it a week later, he told me "hell no!" and gave me the lyrics he wrote. And good lyrics, too! I'm very satisfied about the violin riff and how the folk interlude turned out as well. Lots of interesting stuff happening there!"

Front man Jonne Järvelä added:
"I got a very cool demo song from Olli to which I riffed with a guitar. Then a theme started to form in my head that I transformed into a song which was easy to write words to. 
In the lyrics, the main person meets an old familiar village man who has been on the road as journey man for a long time and returns to his home village. The man asks his friend all sorts of questions about what he has seen around the world, but the journey man only answers vaguely, but with wise lessons."

BLAME MY YOUTH Charges Into Heartbreak with New Single “RUNNING”

About Blame My Youth:

Lightning rarely strikes the same place twice, especially in the music industry. There are exceptions, though, and Sean Van Vleet is one of them. He formed Blame My Youth in 2020—a move that was solidified when the band’s first single “ Right Where You Belong” was selected as the closing credits theme on the GRAMMY-nominated soundtrack of Bill & Ted Face the Music . 

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, follow-up single “Fantastic” picked up millions of streams and hit the Top 30 on the Active Rock radio charts. Their 2023 single “Prizefighter” rode high on US Alternative radio and their most recent single, “The Break” officially hit the airwaves earlier this week. It’s an incredible start that demonstrates just how well Van Vleet’s songs connect with people. 

That all came after a prolonged period when, following the demise of his previous band Empires, Van Vleet was writing a lot for other artists (All Time Low , Oliver Tree, PVRIS)—as well as over 200 songs in TV shows, high profile ad campaigns and video games—but rarely for himself. That changed when he began working closely with Billboard Top 100 Producer of 2023 (and Big Loud Rock co-founder) Joey Moi. Whereas before their working relationship was divided strictly between songwriter (Van Vleet) and producer (Moi), in the studio one day the pair inadvertently began writing together and realized how much they loved the process. The result was “The Break ”—the first of a number of songs Van Vleet and Moi have written together. Though infectious and upbeat, it’s also much more vulnerable and heart-torn than anything he’s ever made before, and signifies the start of what Van Vleet considers a brand new chapter for Blame My Youth. 

With 18 million cross-catalog streams and 9 million YouTube views to date and a debut album on the way later this year, it’s only going to get better and bigger for Blame My Youth from here.

Lightworker Announce New Album "How the Beautiful Decay" + Share "First Light" Video

San Francisco's Lightworker — Joe Calderon [vocals], Grayson Hurd[guitar], and Ryan Johnson [drums] — will drop their new album How the Beautiful Decay on April 19 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

"As a band, each member hit a rough patch at least once the last few years," Lightworker explain. "The song broaches on those struggles with unflinching honesty about where our minds went. However, no matter how vivid and intrusive those thoughts became, hanging on for a glimpse of the next day was a simple yet powerful reminder that life is a gift of peaks and valleys worth experiencing."

"When we were first discussing the musical direction and what the record would be about, the title How The Beautiful Decay popped into my head and stayed there," shares Hurd about the album's overall vibe. "'Decay' suggests changing and withering over time. Often, you don't notice until years down the line that it started a long time ago. We noticed the decay happening in our own lives slowly but surely during the pandemic — we couldn't see friends and family and we were stuck in our homes for a period, not sure what to do. It wasn't until we had begun writing the record when we really noticed the effect this change had taken on us, for better or worse.  

"The title encompasses what we were going through and had gone through over the prior two years. The record is about recognizing the beauty in the world, but still acknowledging the darkness without fear and doing whatever you can to find a way through it."

Lightworker first emerged with the Resilience EP in 2017. Their signature sound cemented on 2020's full-length debut, Fury by Failure. It tallied over a million streams powered up by the likes of "Empyre," "The Willing Martyr," and "Words Dissolve" [feat. Ryan Kirby of Fit For A King]. Meanwhile, a 2021 cover of the Hoobastank hit "Crawling in the Dark" maintained their momentum. During 2022, they recorded How The Beautiful Decay with Beau Burchell of Saosin in the producer's chair. The musicians made a conscious decision to let their heavier impulses lead the way in the studio. As a result, How the Beautiful Decay is a master class in beautiful brutality.

Enter Shikari Announce Free Livestream of Belgium Show on Monday, February 19

Enter Shikari are announcing news of a free livestream of their upcoming show in Belgium on Monday, February 19. The livestream will capture the sold-out opening night of the band's European run at one of the tour's more intimate venues, AB in Brussels. It's a venue with which the band have a long history, and released a 2 x vinyl LP official bootleg of a show from it in 2019.

The band are currently midway through their biggest ever UK tour which has been receiving raves reviews, with The Guardiangiving it four stars and saying it "feels like the beginning of Enter Shikari's greatest chapter."

Dayseeker Announce "Replica" Acoustic Album + Share "Burial Plot" (Feat. Caleb Shomo)

Southern California's DAYSEEKER — Rory Rodriguez [vocals], Gino Sgambelluri [guitar], Ramone Valerio [bass], and Zac Mayfield [drums] — are pleased to announce their forthcoming acoustic album Replica, which arrives digitally on April 19 and physically on June 14 via Spinefarm. Pre-save it here. 

The stripped down, intimate renditions of familiar fan favorites highlight the band's songcraft and allow the listener to experience Dayseeker in an entirely new way. This gorgeous version's heft comes from the restraint, refined instrumentation and the high impact vocal interplay.

"'Burial Plot (Acoustic)' is our third rendition that's officially been released so we knew we had to make it special and interesting for our fans," says Rodriguez. "Caleb Shomo absolutely helped transform this song and it's one of our favorites."

Commenting on the album itself, Rodriguez says, "Replica is one of our favorite releases to date. It completely shows a new side to our band and the kind of music we're capable of creating."

Replica is the somewhat unexpected (yet welcomed) result of a specific gig in 2022, when the band's gear overheated at Blue Ridge Rock Festival. Thinking on his feet, Rodriguez grabbed an acoustic guitar from the van, plugged in, and performed "Without Me." Soon, he had pulled together a five-song set on the fly as thousands of fans flocked to the stage.
 
"“I felt like we let people down, but I had so many friends say, 'Everyone will remember the day your equipment stopped working and you still played the set as a really special moment’,'" he recalls. "It felt natural for our songs. We usually will do extra tracks for a Deluxe version or re-release, but we decided to commit to an entire acoustic album this time."

Dayseeker will also embark on a headline tour this spring. The tour kicks off April 19 in Tampa and runs through May 25 in San Diego. All dates are below, including spring festival appearances, such as Rockfest, Earthday Birthday, and more. Polaris, Rain City Drive, Avoid, and Ayron Jones are set to appear at select dates on the bill, as well.

Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years — and they have reached a tipping point. The future has much in store for Heilung. The Nordic collective collaborated with Ninja Theory on the soundtrack to Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, which is set to come out this May.

Maria Franz, Christopher Juul, Kai Uwe Faust and the other members of their ritual collective will then head home to Europe, where they will return to Roskilde Festival and perform at several other European festivals, in addition to making their first-ever appearance at Download Festival. 

Before they say goodbye to the U.S. for the foreseeable future, Heilung is returning to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on April 23rd. Since its inception in 2015, the enigmatic ritual collective Heilung has been paving melodic paths to the past with their unique and mystifying sound. Evading all conventional genre tags and the confines of any specific labels, the group aptly self-describes their sound as “amplified history,” emphasizing their ability to connect modern society with the rudiments of humanity’s beginnings through music. 

Heilung once again journeys back in time with its latest chapter, ‘Drif;’ however, unlike previous offerings that centered around prehistoric northern Europe, their third album explores other great rudimentary civilizations outside of Europe.

“All the songs on ‘Drif’ have their own stories,” adds Heilung throat singer and one of the band’s three composers, Kai Uwe Faust. Each has its place and sense of belonging, with inspiration not only from Northern Europe, but from the ancient great civilizations,” explains the band. “We took the ancient surrounding advanced civilizations in account, because our ancestral Nordic civilizations did not just pop up, exist and disappear in isolation. Already in the Bronze Age, we found silk on German land that was imported already from the far, far East 3000 years ago. From the Viking age, we found beads that were brought there from present-day Syria high up in the Northern mountains.

“Centrally important concepts, still in extensive use today, like the number Zero and all the mathematical universes deriving from it, the use of iron and the general concept of settling all originate from traditional high civilizations outside the north and still fundamentally changing our ancestor’s world.

“With singing these primordial songs we want to give tribute to these cultures, reconnect to the beginnings and remember that we all, from East to West, from past to present, are connected through the exchange of ideas and inspiring each other.”

Meaning “gathering,” ‘Drif’ serves as more than merely a gateway that bridges history with modern day society, but is also a statement of the strength in unity and togetherness, which will come as no surprise to those who have experienced Heilung’s live ritual, in which every ceremony starts with a reminder that “we are all brothers.” “‘Drif’ means ‘gathering,’’ explains Heilung. “A throng of people, a horde, a crowd, a pack. In symbiosis with the album title, ‘Drif’ consists of a flock, a collection, a gathering, a collage of songs, that much like little flames were seeking towards each other, to join, to bond, to create, and be greater together.”

While Heilung features authentic and archaic instrumentation that ranges from rattles and ritual bells to human bones and throat singing, their captivating brand of music is far from primitive. Producer and founding member Christopher Juul implements subtle electronic elements that elevates the musical atmosphere and provides a more in-depth and layered soundscape.

“This album has very clearly dictated its own path. Our attempts to tame it were repeatedly fruitless, and once we came to this realization, the creative flow surged forward with immense force. So much so that sometimes it felt like the songs wrote themselves,” the band adds.

Heilung’s success has been unprecedented, achieving milestones in its few short years of existence that many do not see in a lifetime. The collective already had rapidly been growing a buzz upon the self-release of their first full-length, ‘Ofnir,’ in 2015, but their dizzying upward trajectory really took off from the moment they set foot on the stage at Castlefest in 2017 for the now-legendary debut of their live ritual. Luckily for those who were not fortunate enough to bare witness to this magical event, the full ceremony was captured on film, having since been viewed by tens of millions of fans across the globe.

As Heilung trekked across Europe and brought their mystifying experience to new audiences, talk of this new band and their stunning ceremony made way to Season of Mist label owner Michael Berberian, who quickly offered the band a record contract after seeing their undeniable musical impact for himself.

By 2019, Heilung launched their second full-length record, ‘Futha,’ which contrasted the masculine and battle-heavy themes of their debut with a feminine counterpart that celebrated fertility and female energy. Upon the first week of the record’s release, it graced the Billboard charts with coveted numbers, debuting at #3 on the Heatseekers Charts and #4 on the Billboard World Music Chart, placing on a total of seven Billboard charts while meeting critical-acclaim from the press on a global scale.

Having already made its way around Europe, Heilung announced its first ever North American tour for the start of 2020, which sold out entirely within 72 hours of ticket on-sale. The band later returned to the United States and performed their live ritual for a sold out audience of 10,000 people at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO (USA), further solidifying their early legacy status.

By this time, the band’s music started to appear in places outside the confines of music venues, videos, and vinyl. From hit television series like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Vikings’ to video game giants like ‘Conqueror’s Blade VII: “Wolves of Ragnarök’ and ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II’ to the blockbuster Robert Eggers film ‘The Northman,’ Heilung’s music has risen far above the underground and has transcended into a greater world. Even a global pandemic couldn’t slow down Heilung’s success; it only strengthened them and gave them the gift of time to complete work on album number three, ‘Drif.’

According to Greek philosopher Pythagoras, three is a divine number, signifying harmony, wisdom, and understanding. He also believed it to be the number of time – past, present, future; birth, life, death; beginning, middle, end. Purposefully or not, ‘Drif’ embodies this philosophy, putting forth a divine work of art that ties together the beginning of civilization with the modern world today. Make no mistake, Heilung still does not represent any modern political or religious ideology, but rather delivers a humbling reminder of where we came from. “Remember, we are all brothers. All people, beasts, tree and stone and wind, we all descend from the one great being that was always there, before people lived and named it, before the first seed sprouted.”

PROFANATICA are at the vanguard of the first wave of American black metal. Founded and led by infamous master of black perversion Paul Ledney (drums/vocals), they have purveyed primeval blasphemy for nigh on thirty-three years.

Ledney formed the band from the ashes of the first INCANTATION lineup when he split and took with him all of the members sans John McEntee. That early trio of ex-INCANTATION members reeled off three ground-breaking demos of some of the most extreme and blasphemic metal of its time in rapid succession. The band flyers that permeated the tape-trading circuit were no less shocking and featured the trio bloody and naked and in the throes of what was most certainly a primeval summoning of some kind. In short order, they had inked a deal with the fledgling Osmose Productions for what became one of that labels first releases (Osmose release #5); a legendary split with Colombia's MASACRE.

Something so volatile could only last briefly, and after another brief recording session the band collapsed under the weight of its own extremity. but the recordings made in this two year window went on to see dozens of reissues in the coming decades, in a testament to how formidable and formative they are to the black metal scene worldwide.

After almost fifteen years spent with his equally polarizing solo project HAVOHEJ, Ledney reignited the flames of PROFANATICA in 2006. Reemerging with a new deal from Hells Headbangers, Ledney and his new band released 'The Enemy of Virtue', a collection of that vaunted early material, and a new fulllength, 'Profanatitas de Domonatia'. A triumphant return, 'Profanatitas de Domonatia' picked up right where these Kings of US Black Metal left off, delivering a savage stream of chainsaw guitars and relentless battery upon which they desecrated everything sacred.

This set-in motion another frenetic burst of work for PROFANATICA. The next decade saw them

unleash four new full-length albums of blasphemous perversions, sacrilegious incantations, and furious black metal. In addition, the band issued six mini-albums and EP's, a full DVD of early footage, and began touring internationally in Europe and in Central and South America. For the first time PROFANATICA were appearing near or at the top of the bill at festivals like Maryland Death Fest, Messe Des Mortes, Hells Headbash, Prague Death Mass (Czech Republic), Chaos Descends (Germany), Black Sun (Spain), Tyrant Fest (France), SWR Fest (Portugal) and many more.

In fall 2018, PROFANATICA joined forces with Season of Mist and undertook their biggest tour to date supporting WATAIN and ROTTING CHRIST across Europe. And a year later, the trio vomited forth a most vulgar strain of black metal ejaculate with their SoM debut album 'Rottng Incarnation of God.'

The band embarked on an extensive twelve-country European headline tour in the album's wake. Shortly after returning home that winter, the world ground to a halt in 2020. Save a live-streaming concert production for the legendary Rock al Parque in conjuncton with BATUSHKA, little was heard from PROFANATICA.

That is until spring 2023, when PROFANATICA emerged from their den of iniquity on a European headline tour to promote a new album. 'Crux Simplex' is a ten-track offensive of sin and sacrilege, a nasty affront that bastardizes the first 10 stations of the cross. As per their legacy, PROFANATICA deals in bestial, first-wave black metal barbarity, and their eighth album unveils ungodly levels of bile and blasphemy.

ABOUT SYMPHONY X

A distinct murmur went around the world in 1994 when a certain six-string guitarist from New Jersey named Michael Romeo of the prog band Gemini recorded THE DARK CHAPTER demo and sent it out to record labels.  It seemed the new guitar messiah of the coming 21st century had made himself known to the world and he’d soon launch a new band that would stir up the prog genre! With an innovative mixture of heavy metal, progressive rock and (neo) classical hard sounds, Romeo and his men in SYMPHONY X recorded a debut album (released in Japan in '94; released worldwide in 1995) that began their journey to create a blueprint for the young generation of prog-metallers to follow.

Portland alternative pop / postmodern rock outfit Sun Atoms present their new single 'Ceiling Tiles', released via Little Cloud Records digitally and on 7" vinyl. The video follows ghosts on a velvety caper through an endless maze, arriving at a house of cards on the verge of metaphysical collapse. The B-side complements chills with thrills with a unique rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic, here dubbed 'Tower of Song (in the key of JAMC)'.

Written around a compelling baseline by Peter G. Holmström (The Dandy Warhols, Pete International Airport), who also produced this single, the single was mixed by the iconic Jagz Kooner (Massive Attack, Primal Scream, Oasis, Garbage). This is the first taste of the band's sophomore album, to be released in late spring.

Vocalist Jsun Atoms (The Upsidedown, Daydream Machine) is joined by Holmström on bass, multi-instrumentalist June Kang, Mars de Ponte (LoveBomb Go-Go), L.A. drummer Eric Rubalcava and Boise native Derek Spencer Longoria-Gomez (Hi Hazel). 2021 brought the band's debut album 'Let There Be Light', also produced by Holmström and mixed by the iconic Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths, The Cranberries), involving performances by the likes of The Vandelles' Jasno Swarez, The Black Angels’ Alex Maas and Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow, Blitzen Trapper).

"When I was a child, I saw a being made of light climb through my bedroom window, they stood at the foot of my bed and reached out to touch my foot," explains Jsun Atoms. "Mesmerizing and haunting, much like the new Sun Atoms single 'Ceiling Tiles', which reveals a story of characters living under a faux sky being manipulated to make it appear that the stars are aligning, when in fact, above this tiled Truman Show, the stars are doing just that. The characters in the song go about their day-to-day dance while the globe they are spinning on becomes an eye."

Filmed by Brady Tuazon, this video follows several characters, who come to life from of a deck of tarot cards. An amalgamation of new colors in psychedelic, dark wave, and post-modern pop, 'Ceiling Tiles' explores a dreamy netherworld peeling away under the heartbeat like a synthesized glove. A cautionary tale of a dystopian future, some of which is already materializing before our eyes now, we follow the characters into a mirror, where they live outside of the lines under a faux sky, only to find that the planet itself is an eye, crying rain. Do they make it through the maze of plastic plants and security guards and get the message out in order to light up the world?

As Sun Atoms kicked off 2024 by playing three sold-out shows at Portland’s historic Revolution Hall, opening for Dinosaur Jr., this presented the perfect chance to shoot this video. With its long stairways and iconic brick facade as the ideal backdrop for this monochromatic video, here unfolds a mysterious tale of characters living between worlds and connected by Jean Cocteau’s famously mirrored portal.

As Sun Atoms roams this 113,000+ square foot state-of-the-art concert venue, Brady reveals two worlds, weaving through each other’s transparent personas and disappearances like white light on black attire. The band members appear like rare birds in the roles of madcap non-conformist odd fellows living outside of the lines.

“I wanted to conjure the same feelings I had the first time I saw Sun Atoms perform this song. Jsun and I were in lockstep as we discussed the vision for the video. We pulled in inspiration from Jean Cocteau and other noir films like “The Killing” by Kubrick," explains the video's director, Brady Tuazon.

"Working within the boundaries of black and white let us emphasize the theme of two worlds in a psychedelic noir manner. Portraying each member as their normal selves and as a ghost version adds another layer to the duality. It makes us ask the questions, “If our own ghosts saw us today, would they be kind and encouraging to us? Or would they be spirits signaling their existence as a cautionary tale?  Filming the video was a true testament of the grit and creative solidarity at the core of Portland creatives. We had limited time and resources to pull this off”.

Apart from Dinosaur Jr., Sun Atoms has played shows with Modest Mouse, Fishbone, Besnard Lakes, The Veldt and New Candys, in addition to performing at Seattle’s Freakout Fest and Portland’s Lose Yr Mind Fest with Allah Las, Broncho and Night Beats. The band will be touring this spring, starting at Treefort Festival, along with Ty Segall, A Place To Bury Strangers, Neko Case and Built To Spill. 

As of February 23, the 'Ceiling Tiles' is available on beautiful 7" vinyl and from fine digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. Sun Atoms will be releasing a new album in late spring.

Whiskey Myers Victory Lane Awaits Each High Limit Racing Night for 2024 Sprint Car Season

Multi-Platinum chart-toppers Whiskey Myers have joined the soundtrack of the 2024 High Limit Racing season, with the genre-bending band signing on as the sponsor of Whiskey Myers Victory Lane. 
 
With the lyrics “Put me back in the saddle out on the road; The way I make a livin’ is the only way I know” epitomizing the spirit behind High Limit Racing, Whiskey Myers’ high-energy song “The Wolf” will be the official victory song played as the victor rolls into Whiskey Myers Victory Lane each race night. Check out the full version of the song on High Limit Racing’s Spotify Playlist (a “clean” version will be used in all FloRacing broadcasts and at-track). 

“We loved getting to know Rico Abreu with our partnership last season – seeing our name on his sprint car was something we never imagined when we started a band,” shared Whiskey Myers drummer Jeff Hogg. “With Rico joining High Limit Racing full time in 2024, we knew we wanted to follow his lead.”

In addition to the at-track and in-stream partnership, the Whiskey Myers Minute, a one-minute compilation of that week’s High Limit Racing highlights, will be posted to High Limit’s Instagram account following each race week with various Whiskey Myers songs being featured. 

“Not only does Whiskey Myers produce great music that fits the grassroots racing brand, the members of the band are also genuine race fans,” said Kendra Jacobs, Chief Marketing and Events Officer at High Limit Racing. “From support of our series to their partnership with Rico (Abreu), Whiskey Myers invests in sprint car racing and truly sees the value of the sports’ fan base and its growth potential.”
 
Whiskey Myers Victory Lane and “The Wolf” will be featured starting with the High Limit Racing season opener at East Bay Raceway Park on February 12 and 13. The 59-race nationwide season will conclude with a two-day finale at The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway on October 11 and 12. Tickets for select events, including the season-opening “Battle at the Bay” are now available here.
