“I am excited and relieved all in one to finally have a killer home for my new music. Not only am I good friends with one of the main owners of Mindsnap Music, (Opus, one of my former bandmates), but I trust their team dearly. I also know they’ll work hard to help get my music out to the masses so it can be heard. A lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, tears, and finances have gone into making my new record! Hope you guys enjoy it," says Joey Concepcion (Solo Artist/Guitarist).

Anyone into heavy guitar driven music will appreciate this album. Like most solo guitarist albums, it’s not just one giant solo or non-stop noodling, there are great melodies within the songs too. Joey C. can not only play guitar like a monster with his abilities being put side by side like some of the guitar greats of past and present, but he is also super humble. The album features well known guitar gurus and some of his personal heroes like Christopher Amott, Jeff Loomis, Marc Rizzo, and more.

“Joey C's songs are full of memorable hooks and I really like the controlled dissonance he's using in several of these songs. With chops to spare I believe he is somewhat of an Evil Satriani. The band here is intense as well. The drums are perfectly executed and compliment and telegraph the changes in the songs. A must hear for any heavy edge guitarists and drummers out there," says Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth/Kings of Thrash/Ohm guitarist).

Metal heads & guitar lovers… Do not sleep on this album!

Joey Concepcion has toured in Europe playing guitar for Dark Tranquility, and has filled in for Arch Enemy on guitar, toured and played with Jasta of Hatebreed, Armageddon with Chris Amontt, The Absence, Once Human, Sanctuary, and Dead By Wednesday. He has also played on albums with Lost Symphony sharing solos with Marty Friedman, Jeff Loomis, Jimi Bell, and many more amazing and legendary guitarists!

Joey C. has also played major festivals all over the world such as Loud Park Japan, Summer Breeze Germany, Reload Festival Germany, and Alcatrazz Festival Belgium, to name a few.

Joey Concepcion is also endorsed by Jackson Guitars, Dimarzio Pickups, D’Addario Strings, & Dunlop.

Hollywood Vampires Announce "Live In Rio" Album + Share "I Got A Line On You" Live Video — WATCH🧛

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES SHARE VIDEO FOR "I GOT A LINE ON YOU"

SONG TAKEN FROM UPCOMING ALBUM LIVE IN RIO OUT JUNE 2 VIA EARMUSIC

With "I Got A Line On You," we get a glimpse into one of the most spectacular live shows of the last few years.

The new single is the prelude to the first live album by Hollywood Vampires, which will be released by earMUSIC on June 2.

With singer Alice Cooper, superstar Johnny Depp, Aerosmith legend Joe Perry, and producer + songwriter Tommy Henriksen, the band has a top-class lineup.

Watch the music video below.

Stream the song here.

With Live in Rio, The Hollywood Vampires probably played their biggest and most legendary gig in front of more than 100,000 fans. The accompanying music video shows the sheer magnitude of this concert and the reactions that this song still evokes in people — even 55 years after it was written. Originally by the American rock band Spirit, Hollywood Vampires cover this classic in their very own way. Rocking, driving, and full of energy, "I Got A Line On You" seems revitalized and bristles with power. It's a three-minute track with hit potential.

In 2015, the Hollywood Vampires not only released their first album, but also played one of their biggest concerts, which will now be released as their first live album. After this success and the media interest in the ultimate rock group, sold-out concerts, and tours all over the world followed, and in 2019, finally, the second album Rise. Over 50,000 physical units sold, millions of streams, and worldwide cover stories in major magazines later, fans, press and the band were ready to bring these songs to the stage. Unfortunately, part of the tour had to be postponed due to the pandemic and will finally be made up for this summer. Fittingly, the first live album will be released a few days earlier on June 2.

The new album Live in Rio will be released as CD+DVD Digipak, CD+Blu-ray Digipak, limited + numbered 2LP Gatefold Black, and can be pre-ordered here.

BOURBON HOUSE Reveal New Wave of Classic Rock Masterpiece, 'The Fourth Album'

After revealing a series of outstanding singles coming into 2023, Heavy Blues Rock band BOURBON HOUSE has unveiled their newest LP, The Fourth Album. The 10 track New Wave of Classic Rock gem showcases the band's incredible musicianship with soaring, soulflul vocals from stunning frontwoman Lacey Crowe.

"We're always trying to outdo ourselves and I think The Fourth Album is our best yet. You'll find plenty of our signature sounds, and some forays into new music territory. I think the authenticity of this album really shines through." - Jason Clark

""Old-school and proud, Wisconsin’s Bourbon House come bearing the smoky heat and buzz of their namesake, a shedload of honkytonk keys and a flash of showy guitar soloing – and it’s all packed into this rollicking new single." - Classic Rock Magazine

Click to Purchase / Stream 'The Fourth Album' Online

Founded in 2017 by vocalist Lacey Crowe and guitarist Jason Clark, Bourbon House are a modern rock ‘n’ roll band whose music is heavily inspired by their timeless predecessors Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Bad Company, to name a few. Following up their first album was Wild Abandon (2018), Into The Red (2021) and their most recent release, The Fourth Album (2023).

Managing themselves under their own label, Steel Jacket Records, Bourbon House have been on an upward trajectory since their debut. They made Classic Rock Magazine's "Hot List" with a full page feature, were named one of 15 Rising Rock Bands by acclaimed music journalist Matt Wake, climbed Matt Pinfield's Weekly Rock Countdown, and have been invited to perform at several music festivals this year.

At the center of Bourbon House's music are Crowe's unique blues-rock vocals and Clark's gritty, bluesy guitar riffs. Their music is honest and their love for the human aspect of pure rock 'n' roll, as well as the desire to create an escape within their music, is the driving force behind their prolificity.

With more music to follow the release of The Fourth Album, festival slots, and their need to be in a continuous mode of creation, Bourbon House are poised for a strong presence in 2023.

New Music Out Now from Narnia

NARNIA

Release Ninth Studio Album,

‘Ghost Town’, Out Today!

Order HERE

Twenty-seven years into a career that continues to grow, Swedish metal band NARNIAtake huge steps into an exciting chapter with the new album ’Ghost Town’. The seasoned five-some once again shows how to shape a masterpiece with this melodic metal future classic.

On their ninth studio album, ’Ghost Town’, NARNIA has picked the icing on the cake from its vast catalog. This album can't simply be labeled a neoclassic metal album or a power metal album, though these elements are present. There are also parts that are progressive, modern, heavy, and just creatively different. This can all be summarized by saying, this is one well-crafted piece of classic, melodic metal.

Artwork: Jani Stefanovic / Layout: Jonatan Samuelsson

Order 'Ghost Town' HERE

Co-founder, guitarist, and producer CJ Grimmark is the crucial architect of the band's sound, and also its primary songwriter along with co-founder and lead singer Christian Liljegren and bassist Jonatan ”Jono” Samuelsson. Through well formulated lyrics and melodies created to enhance the music, this songwriting team has explored new modes of expression represented in songs such as ’Thief’, with its dramatic arrangement of anxiety-laden, expressive imagery, and the progressive, ’Modern Day Pharisees’, a song dealing with the subject of hypocrisy.

The title track, ’Ghost Town’, was first introduced to the cheering live-audience at Sweden Rock Festival 2022, and is now an obvious part of the set list with its bombastic four on the floor-pulse and sing along chorus. The heartbeat of NARNIAAndreas "Habo" Johansson, does a tremendous job behind the drums, and spares no energy. Martin Härenstam and his keyboards have been given a large but tasteful space on the record, and range in sound from vintage synths to grand piano.

The record's gem, "Rebel", with a nod to the band’s earliest influences, should appeal to longtime fans. But also, more immediate songs like the soon-to-be crowd pleasers, "Hold On""Wake Up Call", and "Alive""Descension", on the other hand, is more progressive, but there is a constant and clear common thread throughout the entire production that ties it together brilliantly.

"Out of the Silence" picks up where 2019's "The War That Tore the Land" left off, as the album's only ballad. Featured by Saviour Machine’s frontman Eric Clayton, who reads the Lord’s prayer with his deep baritone operatic voice.

"Glory Daze" is perhaps the album's heaviest song, which also addresses one of today's biggest problems: Stress and chasing the wind. Something that Liljegren himself experienced during a burnout.

"Different songs will appeal to different people lyrically, but we cover a variety of topics throughout the album, and I’m sure people will be able to relate to them, both musically and spiritually. Some of these songs stand out a bit from our previous repertoire, but without abandoning our historical influences", Liljegren explains and continues:

"This is an album with a positive message combined with bombastic music. You can't have one without the other when it comes to Narnia", Liljegren concludes.

Lyrics that make you reflect combined with the broad musical breadth the band possesses, along with a solid production, is NARNIA’s musical trademark which runs throughout the entire album.

If the last studio album, ’From Darkness to Light’, from 2019 marked the way, ’Ghost Town’ is a more than worthy sequel with a life of its own.

'Ghost Town' is produced by CJ Grimmark, mixed by the band"s sound engineer Viktor Stenquist, and mastered by Thomas Piec Johansson.

It is available on all digital platforms, on CD, and on vinyl on in collaboration with Sound Pollution Distribution.

NARNIA are:

Christian Liljegren: Vocals

CJ Grimmark: Guitars, backing vocals

Jonatan Samuelsson: Bass, backing vocals

Martin Härenstam: Keyboards

Andreas “Habo” Johansson: Drums

UNFELLED Streams New Album via Black Metal Promotion

Pagan black metal project UNFELLED (ft. members of WOODS OF DESOLATION, DRUDKH, AUSTERE) has partnered with Black Metal Promotion for the advanced stream of the band's debut full-length, 'Pall of Endless Perdition!' The album can be heard in full ahead of its release tomorrow, March 10, below.

Pre-orders for 'Pall of Endless Perdition' are now available HERE.
Pre-save the album on streaming services HERE.

Emerging Pagan black metal project Unfelled is rising from the underground to release its debut full-length, ‘Pall of Endless Perdition.’ Designed by the same mastermind behind Woods of Desolation, the project serves as a vicious and violent counterpart to its elegant and melodic predecessor, showcasing muti-instrumentalist D.’s impressive musical duality.

Formed in 2016 as a project of D. (Woods of Desolation, Remete), Unfelled first emerged with the solo demo offering ‘Beneath Distant Skies’ at the end of 2017. Expanding the line-up in 2020, fellow veterans Mitch (Austere, Dearthe) and Vlad (Drudkh, Windswept) were enlisted on vocals and drums respectively, completing the vision for the band.

Moving forward as a three-piece, the forthcoming full-length sees Unfelled pursuing heavier, more aggressive territory, yet never entirely eschewing the sense of melody and atmosphere established on the debut demo. “Musically weaving together fury and triumph, aggression and melody, the lyrics predominately center on bloodshed, war & death – the threefold cloak beneath which lies eternal darkness,” says Unfelled about the offering.

Now, upon joining forces with Season of Mist, Unfelled is ready to unleash ‘Pall of Endless Perdition.’ Without question, this record is certain to leave its black mark upon the masses.

New York Indie Rockers RED VOX Release New Album ‘Afterthoughts’

Release New Album ‘Afterthoughts’

Stream HERE

The conclusion of a journey that began with their 2022 LP Visions, indie rockers RED VOX have released the other half of what has grown into a double album – Visions and Afterthoughts’.

The New York-based group’s new full-length, ‘Afterthoughts’, is out today, and features the singles “Almost a Stranger”, “Forgetter”, and “Playing By The Rules”.

Commenting on the album, the band shares:

"’Afterthoughts’ completes the fifth Red Vox LP; the double album 'Visions and Afterthoughts'. Releasing a year after ‘Visions’, the songs range from upbeat, groove-based rock to darker and more contemplative meditations. The ten songs have a heavy synth and guitar focus and can be enjoyed on their own merits or as part of the whole."

Watch the Video for “Playing By The Rules”

About RED VOX:

RED VOX is a New York City based indie rock band created by Vinny, Mike, Joe, and Billin 2015. Beginning primarily as a two-piece, RED VOX would eventually incorporate the talents of all four members. All recordings have been done at Red Room Studios, engineered by Joe of Happy Anarchy fame. Somewhat aimless at first, the band came together in time due to Joe's production style and bass groundwork.

Without adhering to one specific genre, RED VOX take inspiration from a number of classic and contemporary rock bands. Vinny has said that bands like Radiohead, Pixies, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Cars, Wilco, MGMT, The Clash, Tame Impala, Queens of the Stone Age and Talking Heads were influences. Some may consider their music psychedelic, though not exclusively so.

According to Vinny, the name of the band came from a dream. This became a sort of theme for RED VOX as multiple songs have been claimed to originate from dreams. Released in 2016, the band's debut album, ‘What Could Go Wrong’ stayed somewhat rooted in guitar driven rock reminiscent of the early 90s. It would show signs of things to come for RED VOX, including a melody that would later appear on ‘Another Light’.

The 9-minute pseudo-prog song “Stranded” and brisk acoustic album ‘Kerosene’ would follow. In 2020, the band released their follow-up to ‘Another Light’, ‘Realign’, a synth heavy and groove focused record that captures the diversity of styles RED VOX is capable of.

Currently, RED VOX is releasing their 20-song double album, 'Visions and Afterthoughts' – a combination of their 2022 full-length, ‘Visions’, and their new studio effort, ‘Afterthoughts’.

Both albums are available now on streaming platforms, with a formal physical release for the double LP coming towards the end of 2023.

About Brantley Gilbert
With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. The Georgia native who started as the defiant life-of-the-party can still go ‘til sunrise, but he’s also emerged as something far greater: the leader of a massive tribe of hard-working, fun-loving believers for whom electric guitar-shredding, rapping, and twang can go hand-in-hand-in-hand. They call themselves the BG Nation, and when the BG Nation watches Gilbert on a stage, they don’t just see a star. They see themselves. Seven No. 1 hits punctuate his career: RIAA 6x Platinum-certified “Bottoms Up,” 2x Platinum “Country Must Be Country Wide,” 2x Platinum “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” 2x Platinum “One Hell of An Amen,” Platinum-certified collaboration with Lindsay Ell “What Happens In A Small Town,” and two chart-toppers as a songwriter with CMA Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kinda Party.” Gilbert’s landmark record Just As I Am clinched the 2014 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album. Earning praise from the New York Times, NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Gilbert has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all of his albums. Instead of toiling in limbo, unable to enjoy good times for fear of Judgment Day, Gilbert fully lives––rowdy friend, man of faith, devoted husband, smitten new father––just as he is. So Help Me God (Deluxe Edition) is set for release April 21 via The Valory Music Co. and features chart-climbing single “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill. Gilbert will join Nickelback this summer for the Get Rollin’ Tour, featuring 35+ dates across North America. Morgan Wallen Releases Highly-Anticipated 3rd Studio Album ONE THING AT A TIME

Morgan Wallen’s highly-anticipated third studio album One Thing At A Time – which has already notched seven Top 10 Billboard Hot Country songs ahead of its release – is available today on Big Loud/Mercury/Republic Records. Listen HERE.

The deeply personal 36-song album combines all of Wallen’s musical influences, running the gambit in both sound and subject. Showcasing his wide-ranging influences and creativity – he interpolated The Allman Brothers' “Midnight Rider” – showcased on “Everything I Love;” a sample of Young Thug’s “Lifestyle” interpolated on “180 (Lifestyle);” plus featured collaborations with Eric Church on “Man Made A Bar,” HARDY on “In The Bible” and ERNEST on “Cowgirls.” Furthering the connection to his roots, Wallen’s sister, Ashlyne Wallen, sings harmony on “Outlook.”

Beginning the album with “Born With A Beer In My Hand” (When I was puttin’ ‘em down, they put me through hell / Put some scars on some trucks, myself as well) and finishing with “Dying Man” (Codeine it got Elvis / Whiskey it got Hank / I always thought somethin’ like that / Might send me on my way / But you took hold of me / Like only a woman can / And gave one good reason to live / To a set on dying man), Wallen toggles between sin and salvation, with a lot of life covered between tracks 1 and 36.

“This record is as personal and honest as I know how to be, and represents my journey over the past two years,” shares Wallen. “I loved being back in the studio making new music and I’m super excited to see what my fans think because this is for you guys.”

Wallen will celebrate the release of One Thing At A Time with fans tonight at a free concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. With the NHL’s Predators away for a game, the stars aligned for the ACM, CMA and American Music Awards winner to return to the arena that housed three consecutive sold-out shows on his 2022 Dangerous Tour for one night only, once again filling its stands. For anyone who is unable to attend, Wallen’s bringing new music to even more fans with the livestream across his Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok accounts, or at onethingatatime.com, beginning at 7:30pm CT.

One Thing At A Time has yielded two No. 1 singles at country radio: 2x Platinum “You Proof,” which spent just 14 weeks at radio before hitting No. 1 – eventually returning to the top of the charts for a record-breaking ten non-consecutive weeks to become the longest-leading No. 1 in Country Airplay Chart history – and Platinum-certified current two-week No. 1 “Thought You Should Know,” co-written by Wallen alongside Nicolle Galyon and Miranda Lambert. Wallen’s latest release, “Last Night,” left Billboard opining “Morgan Wallen Draws A Winning Five Card Hand” as the superstar claimed the top spot on all five Billboard country charts upon its release – marking the first time an artist has done so since 2019. “Last Night” is currently rising at pop radio, while “One Thing At A Time” is off to the races at country radio.

With over 13.6 billion on-demand streams and eight chart-toppers at Country radio, the East Tennessean’s latest hit to top the charts is “Thought You Should Know,” cowritten with Nicolle Galyon and Miranda Lambert. Recent breakout hit “You Proof” became his fastest climbing single to-date, reaching No. 1 after just 14 weeks and remaining at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for a record-breaking ten non-consecutive weeks. On the heels of the unparalleled success of his 4x platinum, ACM Album of the Year, Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Mercury/Republic Records) – which topped 2021's all-genre Billboard 200 Albums year-end chart and notched historical chart status as Billboard’s longest running Top 10 album in history for a solo artist (with 108 total weeks spent in the Top 10, eclipsing Adele’s 21 and Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA), Wallen’s 36-song deeply personal third studio album, One Thing At A Time, is available now. The American Music Awards’ Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Country Song (“Wasted On You”) winner continues to touch fans’ lives in ways few can; Pollstar noting “[he has] the ability to distill his life in a way that pulls others to him.” Thanks to those very fans, the superstar has raised nearly $3 million dollars for causes close to his heart with $3 from every U.S. ticket sold for each tour benefitting the Morgan Wallen Foundation.

Gramercy Arms release star-studded 'Deleted Scenes' LP, inspired by the artistic heyday of ‘70s and ‘80s-era New York City

"Gentle and perfectly arranged, it is both calming and genuine, straightforward and talented, giving space and voice everywhere that the song and its story requires. A hidden Americana-indiepop gem, Gramercy Arms show that music truly is a journey"~ The Spill Magazine

"A slice of mature, soulful pop, gentle and refined, a swirl of gorgeous boy-girl harmonies, laced with elegant guitar lines and the perfect balance between a slightly nostalgic then and a now calling out for such astute, chart-friendly pop. A future classic" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Melancholic yet radiant, emotively shadowed but joyfully rousing, Yesterday’s Girl swiftly and keenly had the body swinging and pleasure bubbling, its melodic jangle and rhythmic kneading just as magnetic" ~ Ringmaster Review

NYC indie rock outfit Gramercy Arms have released their much-anticipated third album 'Deleted Scenes' via New Jersey-based Magic Door Record Label.

A revolving collective, masterminded by Dave Derby (The DambuildersLloyd Cole), Gramercy Arms is inspired by the artistic heyday of ‘70s and ‘80s-era New York City. They make addictive indie pop - exquisite hook-laden melodies filled with lyrics that will have you floating back in time, remembering your favorite mistake.

Produced, recorded and mixed by Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Luna, Elk City) at Magic Door Recording in Montclair, NJ, this album was mastered by award-winning engineer Greg Calbi (John Lennon, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Tom Petty, Todd Rundgren).

Earlier, Gramercy Arms teased the singles 'Yesterday's Girl' (plus an acoustic version), Derby co-penned by Derby and music legend Lloyd Cole and performed as a duet with Derby and Renée Lo Bue (Elk City, Flowers of America), and 'Tricky Love Stuff', featuring violinist Claudia Chopek (Bright Eyes, The Little River Band), saxophonist Peter Hess (Phillip Glass Ensemble, Anti-Social Music, Slavic Soul Party) and backing vocals by Lo Bue, Jessie Kilguss and Gary Burton (Dovedale).

This album is quite the star-studded affair, involving Lloyd Cole, Kevin March (Guided by Voices, The Dambuilders, Shudder to Think), Doug Gillard (Guided by Voices, Nada Surf), Sean Eden (Luna), Rainy Orteca (Joan As Police Woman), Mark Lizotte (Diesel), Rafa Maciejak (Lloyd Cole and the Negatives), Phoebe Summersquash (Small Factory), Lysa Opfer (Aeon Station), Kendall Meade (Mascott), Verena Wiesendanger (Semi Gloss), John Leon (Royal Arctic Institute), Hilken Mancini (Fuzzy), Richard Alwyn-Fisher (King Canutes), Mike Errico, Steve Hurley (Gigolo Auntsand Carl Baggaley (Elk City, Royal Arctic Institute),

"Every step of this record has been about collaboration. Before we started, Ray Ketchem and I documented our vision for how the record should be. We wanted it to be simple, melodic, powerful and beautifully recorded. We were almost finished with the record and then COVID happened and we had to cancel what were initially intended to be the final sessions of making the album," says Dave Derby.

"During the pandemic, when the entire world seemed to go on break, we reached out to friends like Mike Errico, John Leon (Royal Arctic Institute, Roky Erickson), Stephen Hurley (Gigolo Aunts) and Mark Lizotte (Diesel), who were able to contribute remotely. Their contributions really transformed the record."

Ray Ketchem adds, "We were lucky to work with Greg Calbi, legendary Grammy-winning mastering engineer of classic records from Talking Heads, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen. Calbi called me after spending the afternoon working on 'Deleted Scenes' and said, “Who IS this guy? Every one of these songs are fantastic!”

Lyrically driven and rich on vocal-harmony, interspersed with elements of 60s sunshine pop and folk-rock, 'Deleted Scenes' follows previous albums 'The Seasons of Love' (2012) and 'Gramercy Arms' (2008).

'Deleted Scenes' is out now across online platforms, including Apple MusicSpotify and other online stores, as well as Bandcamp. On March 1, Gramercy Arms hosts their record release show at Sid Gold's in New York, the first in a series of monthly Public Access TV Musical Variety Shows hosted and produced by Gramercy Arms, Jessie Kilguss, Gary Burton, Richard Alwyn Fisher and Dave Derby.

Liverpool indie rock outfit The Room reform after 38-year hiatus, releasing invigorating 'Restless Fate' LP

"A band who have a genuine need to create art, they create literate, film-like songs aimed as much at the mind as the feet. They are not looking back to past glories at all, but looking forward to future ones. In Restless Fate, they have already found one" ~ Louder Than War

After a lengthy hiatus, Liverpool post-punk / indie rock stalwarts The Room are back to release the first new music recorded in 38 years. Originally formed in 1979 by singer Dave Jackson and bassist Becky Stringer, their new 'Restless Fate' LP was recorded and mixed at Ark Studios in Liverpool. Co-produced by Steve Powell (Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band, Autour De Lucie, Echo & The Bunnymen), the album was released on 9x9 Records.

‘Restless Fate’ picks up where the band left off. At times shimmering, at times haunting, their melodic blend of progressive, alternative pop and sultry post-punk is just as relevant and captivating now as when they broke up in 1985. An exploration of man’s search for meaning and the dysfunction of the human condition, there is still a relentless optimism at the core of this record.

The Room also present the video for the album's lead single 'The Drift', created by Mark Jordan. Inspired by long peaceful walks during lockdown, contrasted with a sense of inevitable drifting apart and loss, Jackson reflects on how people come and go from our lives over the years in a beautiful melancholic tale of slow loss.

The Room earned the support of John Peel, with whom they recorded four sessions (Strange Fruit eventually released 'The Peel Session'), an appearance on 'The Whistle Test' show, and production support from Television's Tom Verlaine and John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Billy Bragg, Microdisney) on their 'In Evil Hour' LP (1984). Recordings from their two sessions for Janice Long's BBC Radio One programme and Saturday Live would be used for the band's final release while together - the 'Jackpot Jack' EP (1985). In 2004, the LTM label released the 'No Dream (Best Of)' compilation, followed by the 'Indoor Fireworks' LP, recorded in 1982 and released via Red Flame Records in 2005.

Past members include Robyn Oldlum, Clive Thomas, Alan Wills, Paul Cavanagh and Peter Baker. Having toured the UK and the USA, The Room has performed with The Fall, The Birthday Party, Bauhaus, Southern Death Cult, Violent Femmes, Tom Verlaine, John Foxx and The Red Guitars.

Following the band's split, Becky and Dave went on to form several other bands: Benny Profane, Dust and Dead Cowboys. Dave has also recorded under his own name and, most recently, he issued a string of releases as The Room in the Wood (with Paul Cavanagh).

Since lockdown, Dave and Becky reunited to record their new album under their original name, joined by guitarist Darren Brown, Becky's son Ethan Kyme on keyboards and drummer Tom McCabe.

"It's great to be working with Becky Stringer again and the infusion of new blood has produced an album we're proud of.  Live reaction to the new songs has been amazing. A recent trip to Manila to perform old songs by The Room with Filipino musicians at Sneak Attack was the first time I'd sung them since 1985. It's great to revisit old stuff, but writing new songs as The Room is where the excitement really lies. New Dreams from an island cursed by Restless Fate," says Dave Jackson.

"'Sleepless' is about addiction to media that keeps us on our phones and obsessed by trivia. 'Red Admiral' is a reflection on childhood with an implied murder mystery hidden in the picture. 'Kingdom' is an atheists hymn. 'Crying Face' is about a Facebook troll I know. 'Bull in the Doorway' is about the paintings of Francis Bacon. 'Mirror World' is an oblique response to a misinformation in the media. 'Cursed Islands' is about an island off the coast of Napoli and also the redundant World Islands in Dubai. 'Time Comes' was another response to lockdown. 'The Reeds' is about a bereaved swan on Prince's Park Lake."

The 'Restless Fate' album is out now, available digitally across fine music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon. It can also be obtained on CD and as a vinyl record via Liverpool-based 9x9 Records.

Chase Rice's 'I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell' Available Now

CHASE RICE SHARES INTROSPECTIVE STORIES
OF LOVE, REGRET AND REDEMPTION WITH NEW ALBUM

I HATE COWBOYS & ALL DOGS GO TO HELL
AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE NOW

With today's release of I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, chart-topping singer/songwriter Chase Rice is poised for a career-defining moment with the album already earning praise as his best work to date. Born out of the recent time away from the roar of sold-out crowds, the project is the result of Rice's realization that despite career milestones including RIAA Diamond certification as a songwriter, numerous multi-Platinum hits and three No. 1s at Country radio to his name, he still had more to offer creatively – both to fans and to himself.

“People always say that Nashville is a 10-year town; that it usually takes 10 years of grinding to finally reach that moment of breakthrough success,” reflects Rice, “For me, though, I was part of a group of songwriters that found lightning in a bottle immediately when I moved to town. It was a wild ride that I hung onto and tried to replicate as much as I could. What I’ve realized, though, is that I never identified who I am as my own artist. Now, a decade later, I know that my 10 years in this town were all about discovering my true self and getting to this point of releasing an album that I can honestly say reflects the man I want to be from start to finish.”

Offering 13 tracks, all of which feature Rice as a songwriter (including three solo writes), I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell showcases a raw, passionate side of the man praised by Sports Illustrated for “his wild ride to redemption” and honors his late father, Daniel Rice, with its cover art.

“My dad was one of those good guys you read about – tough, hardworking, always helping other people out,” Rice notes of the man gracing the album cover. “I try to live my life in a way that would make him proud. I haven't always measured up to that, but I get closer to that man I want to be and the man he’d be proud of every single day.

“Making this album was a big step towards that musically, too,” he continues. “Not only is it the most vulnerable I've ever been, it’s also something he’d enjoy listening to and is full of stories I wish I could tell him. I’ve always wanted to honor him by using this photo as an album cover, and I know this project is the one that deserves that.”

Building on solo songwriting sessions with just his acoustic guitar, plus trips with friends where songs were born from real life as opposed to Music Row writing appointments, Rice took the same approach into the recording process with producer Oscar Charles. Forgoing a traditional studio, Rice and Charles turned his rural home into their 24/7 workspace, bringing in a live band with no click track to capture a rugged, authentic sound over the course of an immersive two-week session.

Opening with the timeless message of true love’s power on “Walk That Easy,” the album immediately makes clear that this is a different sonic product than any previous offerings from Rice, as does lead single “Way Down Yonder” with a funky, carnival-sounding guitar line repeating throughout the track and lyrics based on true moonshining history building to the infectious chorus.

Life Part of Living,” meanwhile, summarizes the album’s overall theme of love, regret and redemption in its opening verse (“I’ve had a lot of good years I missed as they rolled on by / Now here I am just a kid goin’ on 35 / I’ve played my songs and played my part, played it wrong and played some hearts / Lived the highs, lows, in betweens of this thing called life”). Rice offers a similarly contemplative performance on introspective anthem “I Walk Alone,” with the lyrical imagery serving as an autobiographical metaphor for his own musical journey, building to a climax during the goosebump-inducing final third as he lets loose vocally.

Clocking in at nearly eight minutes in length, standout track “Oklahoma” (featuring the Sooner State’s own Read Southall Band), also builds to an impressive climax; opening as a haunting Wild West ballad and concluding with a three minute, surging instrumental outro to fully illustrate the impressive dynamic of the live band recording in Rice’s own living room.

Celebrated by Billboard as “one of his most earnest vocal deliveries to date,” “Key West & Colorado” served as an early preview of the album along with “Bench Seat,” written alone by Rice as an emotional ode to the power of a dog’s love and released recently along with a heart-wrenching music video spotlighting mental health. Another solo write and early preview, “If I Were Rock & Roll” was the first song written for the project. Initially released as a single in late 2021 and now appearing as a reimagined version on the album, it sees Rice reflecting on the people and memories that have shaped him – as well as the areas in which he’s fallen short.

Despite the emotional heft, the album also features points of high-energy punctuation while maintaining a mature musicality, including with a a fresh take on a tried-and-true Country music theme. Feel-good singalong “Goodnight Nancy” (featuring Boy Named Banjo) celebrates the local “roadhouse queen,” while “Bad Day To Be A Cold Beer” introduces a new cowriter to Nashville via PGA Champion Justin Thomas, whose simple statement during a day together on the golf course – “Boys, it’s a bad day to be a cold beer” – now finds permanence on Rice’s album.

The humorous honky-tonk apology of “Sorry Momma” offers another light moment with a singalong chorus and jangly piano as Rice delivers a heartfelt message to the woman who did everything she could to keep a brood of three rowdy boys in line, concluding, “Lord knows I’m to blame, so I’m sorry Momma for the hell you raised.”

The tongue-in-cheek lyricism is perhaps most evident on one half of the album’s title, “All Dogs Go To Hell,” which illustrates how painful it can be to watch love leave by weaving a web of lies to reveal a man in denial as the chorus peaks (“I don’t miss you baby, and all dogs go to hell”), and on “I Hate Cowboys,” the other half of the project’s title, bringing the album to an emphatic close by flipping the truth on its head with an ode to how enviable cowboys really are.

“I’m at the place in my life now where I just want people to know who I really am as opposed to who they think I am,” Rice summarized the 13-song offering to PopCulture. “I think this record's a good start.”

Soon, fans will get to hear the new music live on Rice’s Way Down Yonder Tour, set to visit iconic venues such as Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre beginning March 3.

About Chase Rice
With nearly 2.4 million albums sold and over 2.4 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With the new album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell crafted in his rural Tennessee home-turned-studio and available everywhere now, his sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life, as evidenced by recent releases “Bench Seat,” “Way Down Yonder,” “I Hate Cowboys” and “Key West & Colorado.” The new music serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, featuring his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen. (feat. Florida Georgia Line)” and Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.” This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better, freer; unbeholden and uninhibited. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the triple-Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll.” In addition to guesting on sold out arena tours with Kane Brown and Jason Aldean plus stadium shows with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice is set to get back on the road this spring in support of the new music.
