Ian Munsick Announces ‘White Buffalo: Introduce You To God’ Deluxe Album, Available April 5

With his 2023 album White BuffaloIan Munsick painted a sprawling ode to the west and its people. The son of ranchers, he is now sharing the majesty of his home with the next generation. Today he announced four new tracks White Buffalo: Introduce You To God, a deluxe version of the celebrated collection (pre-order HERE). The first of the album’s four new tracks, “Heartbreak King,” is available now (listen HERE).

“18 songs just wasn’t enough,” remarks Munsick of his sophomore project. “This Deluxe album features songs I wrote four years ago and songs I wrote four months ago. They’ve lived in my imagination long enough, now I can’t wait for them to be yours. Family, faith, heartbreak, legends of the west… you’ll get 'em all in this project. Thank you for always pushing me to write and release more music.”

Munsick’s release of White Buffalo last year earned accolades from Billboard, American Songwriter, People, MusicRow and more. Grammy.com remarked, “Munsick's ability to turn his Western upbringing into relatable sentiments is the epitome of what makes him special… his passion for his homeland — from the culture to the people — rings through in both the lyrics and the musicality.”

Munsick burst out of the gate in 2024, starting with the release of White Buffalo: Voices of the West. The feature-length documentary is now available on Apple iTunes, Apple, Google Play, Kanopy (Libraries), Microsoft, Vudu, YouTube Rentals and Amazon TVOD. The Tennessean praised Voices of the West, which features conversations with members of the Blackfoot and Crow tribes as well as the Blackfeet Nation, as “essential to maintain and humanize the tie to Western culture.”

Last week, amid his headlining Boots, Buckles & Bolos Tour, Munsick stopped by The Bobby Bones Show for an in-studio interview and performance (watch HERE). He also released his exclusive Apple Music Sessions, featuring western-influenced covers of Justin Bieber, Hall & Oates and Travis Tritt (listen HERE).

Munsick is back on the road this weekend, with a show tonight in Kansas City, MO. His headlining run will continue through the spring, including a sold-out date at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre on June 5. This summer he will join CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson for her Country’s Cool Again Tour

Ian Munsick’s ‘White Buffalo: Voices of the West’ Available On Demand Beginning Jan. 26

Known for his ability to transport people to the west by way of his sawing fiddle and coyote cries, Wyoming native Ian Munsick’s sophomore album White Buffalo painted a vivid lyrical picture of his homeland and its unique cast of characters. Now, Munsick is expanding on those depictions with his documentary White Buffalo: Voices of the West, arriving to streaming platforms on Friday, Jan. 26.

The documentary will initially be available on Apple iTunes, Apple, Google Play, Kanopy (Libraries), Microsoft, Vudu, YouTube Rentals and Amazon TVOD. After 60-90 days, it will become available on Freevee, The Roku Channel and Tubi.

“Some of the best kept secrets are out there, thriving, where the prairie meets the mountains,” Munsick reflects. “I was lucky enough to be born and raised in the heart of cowboy country, mostly untouched by the outside world. It’s a culture where Cowboys and Native Americans are one in the same. I’ve always wanted to use my platform to help shed light on what’s been hidden for decades, and Voices of the West was a great way to convey an important message, while artistically collaborating with a people who rarely get the opportunity to have their voices heard.”

Spanning nearly an hour, the film expands on the concept of Munsick's sophomore album White Buffalo, with the white buffalo representing a sacred symbol for the plains tribes of Native America, its return signaling prosperity and rebirth. Delving into conversations with Pro Buckin’ Horse producer and entrepreneur from the Blackfoot Tribe, Dougie Hall; rancher, horse trainer and actor from the Crow Tribe, Stephen Yellowtail; and cowgirl from the Blackfeet Nation, Sammy Jo Bird; Munsick explores the modern-day relationship between cowboys, ranchers and Native American tribes, and how they often rely on each other to live off the land out west.

Munsick first premiered the documentary to an intimate crowd of 150 attendees on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the Beverly Theater in Las Vegas during NFR. Following the screening, the cast was joined by Cam Mackey, director/cinematographer from the Tohono O'Odham Nation and executive producer Caroline Munsick, for a panel discussion moderated by film, television actor and enrolled member of the Lakota Nations, Mo Brings Plenty. The 30-minute conversation highlighted the importance of sharing Native and Western experiences from those who live them in order to shed an authentic light on the culture.

Ian Munsick Sets “White Buffalo: Voices of the West” Documentary Premiere for 12/6 in Las Vegas

Wyoming native Ian Munsick has never shied away from sharing the influence of his homeland and its people in his music. “For centuries, our horse nation relatives carried my ancestors on their backs and continue to in these modern times. It can be said they are responsible for our existence today," says Brings Plenty. “American Indians, cowboys, ranching, and rodeo are deeply rooted in this country's history, culture, and the enduring spirit of the American West, and through Ian's lens, a historical story of growth, camaraderie, respect, humility, and the importance of creating allies with communities other than our own -- organically through our shared love of our four-legged relatives -- will appear for audiences of all ages.”

Ian Munsick Shares Stripped-Down Tracks from "White Buffalo" on "Me and a Fiddle" EP, Out Now

Whether bathed in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains or illuminated by the spotlight at CMA Fest’s Nissan Stadium, Ian Munsick is perhaps most at home when it’s just him and a fiddle. Today he shares five stripped-down tracks from his critically acclaimed album White Buffalo on the Me and a Fiddle EP (listen HERE). Intimate live performance videos of each track take the viewer to the majestic landscape of Sun Valley, Idaho alongside Munsick and violinist Tim Hayes (watch Below).

“Country music is at its finest when you strip it down. All the best songs translate the same (if not better) when all the noise is muted and it’s just a voice and one instrument. Well… maybe two instruments, cuz you know I gotta have a fiddle," shares Munsick. "I believe these five stripped versions from White Buffalo will take you right into my childhood living room in Wyoming where I fell in love with songwriting in the first place. Back where it all began. Just me and a fiddle.”

Hailed “Western music royalty” by The Tennessean, the Wyoming native earned accolades from Billboard, American Songwriter, GRAMMY.com, MusicRow and more for his 18-song sophomore album White Buffalo. Holler declared, “Through Munsick’s carefully crafted new project, you can experience the emotional ebbs and flows of the Green River, feel the highs and lows of the Grand Teton and witness the wild, free-spirited euphoria of a band of mustangs riding off into the sunset.” “Long Live Cowgirls,”the album’s celebrated duet with Cody Johnson, has earned more than 100 MILLION streams and been certified Gold by the RIAA.

Fans can see Munsick and a fiddle – and a whole lot more – at fairs and festivals throughout the summer. He will join Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour on Aug. 11 (Ohio Stadium) and Aug. 30 (PNC Park) before heading out this fall on his own headlining The Buffalo Roams Tour. Flagship Track "Long Live Cowgirls" Receives RIAA Gold Certification
with Nearly 100 Million Global Streams and Counting

Wyoming native Ian Munsick is spreading the Rocky Mountain gospel with the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album White Buffalo, out now (stream / purchase HERE). With 18 tracks that all credit Munsick as a co-writer and co-producer, White Buffalo is an ode to his homeland and serves as a raw, untamed depiction of the American West.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do as a country music artist is represent the West,” Munsick shared. “The land, people, stories and culture are all what give me endless inspiration to create music. I started writing the songs for White Buffalo three years ago. I’d never been so eager to write, and a big factor in that excitement was the way you all responded to my last album, Coyote Cry. But this time, I really wanted to transport all five of your senses to where I was born and raised. I hope you smell the alfalfa pastures, taste the crack-of-dawn Folgers coffee, feel the numbing waters of the Blackfoot river, hear the summer wind blowing through the Indian Paintbrush and, finally, see the White Buffalo wandering through the Wyoming prairie. This album is for the West… thank you for letting me take you there.”

The official music video for the album’s title track premiered today across all CMT platforms and the Paramount billboards in Times Square. Shot at Diamond Cross Ranch in Jackson Hole, the video underscores the expansive Wyoming landscape and lifestyle. Ian Munsick Shares "Little Man" from Upcoming Album "White Buffalo"

IAN MUNSICK SHARES SONG FOR HIS SON:
“LITTLE MAN” OUT NOW.

18-Song Album White Buffalo Due April 7

On his upcoming album White Buffalo, due April 7, fast-rising country artist Ian Munsick details the people and places, from the Rocky Mountains to Music City, that have influenced his story. His new track “Little Man” is an ode to his son – to the simple virtue and wholesome integrity of a child – and, ultimately, a reflection on the kind of man Munsick has grown up to be. Listen to the track, penned alongside Adam James and Ben Simonetti, below.

“The best songs are the ones inspired by life-changing events,” Munsick shares. “First love, true love, heartbreak, death, birth… as a songwriter, these monumental experiences continue to bring out the best music in me. Becoming a father is no exception. My life changed forever when Crawford came into this world. Suddenly, nothing was more important. Snow cones, Tonka trucks and sleepless nights began to take over my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m a better man because of my little man.”

“Little Man” is one of 18 tracks on Munsick’s robust sophomore album White Buffalo (pre-order HERE). The forthcoming project, which comes three years after his critically acclaimed debut Coyote Cry, is an ode to his homeland and serves as a raw, untamed depiction of the American West. White Buffalo has already yielded standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” with two-time CMA Award winner Cody Johnson. “Long Live Cowgirls” has topped SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown and has accumulated upwards of 85 million global streams. Tune-In Tomorrow, Feb. 18 for Munsick’s “My Opry Debut,”

Airing 10/9p CT on Circle Network

Raised as a ranch hand in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains, Wyoming native Ian Munsick knows the value of persistence and hard work in all aspects of life – and relationships are no exception. Munsick releases “Dig” off his upcoming project White Buffalo today (listen HERE). He penned the track alongside Jessi Alexander and Dave Villa.

The inspiration for the song’s tale first arrived to Munsick as a recurring image of digging to reach a skeleton. That image serving as the metaphorical backdrop, “Dig” details the time and dedication it takes to gain the trust, and ultimately earn the love, of the people you care about.

“Melodies have always come to me at the most inconvenient times,” Munsick shared. “In the middle of class, on airplanes and even in my sleep. Now, I’m not complaining – I just wish the universe would choose more opportune moments to strike creative lightning into my brain. A couple years ago, I dreamed up the verse melody for ‘Dig’ and, unlike most of the music I dream, I remembered it as soon as I woke up. I immediately reached for my phone and recorded it so it wouldn’t escape into my subconscious fog. I knew it was one of the best melodical phrases I had written, and I’m grateful the universe let me hang onto it.

"As a songwriter, I love pairing melodies with lyrical ideas," he continued. "This particular musical phrase was begging for a lyric that highlighted the dark string of notes, while remaining optimistic with the chorus lift. What better way to do that than working for love. In my opinion, the best kind of love is the kind that doesn’t always come easy, but the kind you have to dig for. That’s where the real gold is."

Munsick will release his sophomore album White Buffalo on April 7 via Warner Music Nashville (pre-order HERE). The 18-track ode to his homeland, which comes three years after his critically acclaimed debut Coyote Cry, serves as a raw, untamed depiction of the American West, with the white buffalo itself symbolizing the rebirth of Munsick’s artistry and life. The project has already yielded standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” with two-time CMA Award winner Cody Johnson and his most recent release “River Run.” Watch HERE to see the full track listing reveal from earlier today.

As he prepares for album launch, Munsick continues to sell out dates on the road. He recently extended his Long Live Cowgirls Tour into May 2023 with Ned LeDoux as a special guest on select dates. The run includes his first headlining arena shows at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa; Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska and First Interstate Arena at MetraPark in Billings, Montana, as well as his Ryman Auditorium headlining debut. The tour kicked off Jan. 20 with a sold-out show at the legendary Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas. Tickets for the run are available HERE.

Tomorrow, Feb. 18 Munsick’s “My Opry Debut” episode will air at 10/9p CT on Circle Network. Fans can re-live his standout performances of “Long Haul” and “Horses Are Faster,” which landed the rising star a standing ovation on the coveted stage.

Ian Munsick Adds Seven New Dates to LONG LIVE COWGIRLS TOUR

Ned LeDoux Joins As Special Guest On Select Stops

New Dates Include Munsick’s First Headlining Arena Shows in Iowa, Nebraska
And Montana + Previously Announced Ryman Auditorium Headlining Show

Celebrate the One-Year Anniversary of the Track That Inspired It All
With “
Long Live Cowgirls (Me and a Fiddle)” Out Now

With high demand and numerous sold-out shows marking his 2023 return to the road, Wyoming native Ian Munsick extends his recently launched Long Live Cowgirls Tour into May 2023 with seven new dates. The run includes his first headlining arena shows at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa; Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska and First Interstate Arena at MetraPark in Billings, Montana; as well as his previously announced Ryman Auditorium headlining debut. Tickets for the run are available HERE.

Fellow Wyoming native and son of country legend Chris LeDoux, Ned LeDoux will join Munsick on select dates. The tour, named after the song that has garnered over 74.5 million global streams to date and topped SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown, kicked off Jan. 20 with a sold out show at the legendary Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas. Today, in celebration of the one-year anniversary of its release, Munsick showcases his knack for strumming a fiddle with the special release of a stripped down version, “Long Live Cowgirls (Me and a Fiddle),” out now. Listen HERE.

“Since you guys have been selling out venues across Texas, the Midwest and the Southeast, I figured we better add more dates and head west on the Long Live Cowgirls Tour! We even added a few arenas for the very first time," Munsick shares. "And to make it even better, my buddy Ned LeDoux is joining us. Folks, you do not wanna miss this tour when it rolls through your town… it doesn’t get any more western than this!”

The Long Live Cowgirls Tour compliments the news of Munsick’s sophomore project White Buffalo, due April 7, 2023 on Warner Music Nashville. White Buffalo is an ode to the wild landscapes and complex characters of Munsick’s homeland, including a real-life glimpse of the bond between Native American and cowboy culture.

Reflecting on its meaning, Munsick notes, “The White Buffalo is a sacred symbol for the plains tribes of Native America. With its return brings prosperity and rebirth. Growing up a stones throw away from the Crow Reservation in southern Montana, Native American culture runs rich in our community through traditions, history and legends. I remember first hearing about The White Buffalo through my father. As rancher, musician and teacher, my dad has very close ties with members of the Crow, Sioux and Northern Cheyenne tribes from the classroom and the livestock trade. He passed down this love of Native American culture to my two older brothers and me.

"Towards the end of making this album, I knew the body of songs I had were special in that they paid tribute to the land and people I love most. My music had evolved with my life. Since my last album, I had become a father and husband… two life changing events. In a way I had been reborn, and so had my music. To pay homage to the culture of the region that raised me, White Buffalo was the perfect title to encapsulate this project. I hope it brings green grass and big medicine to whoever is looking for it.”

It’s a deep-seeded respect that is often misunderstood in other parts of the country, and one that Munsick hopes to shine a light on through the release of the album and unique collaborations with Native American artists, including Isaiah Stewart.

Stewart shares, “Ian and I have a passion for the West and the foundation that it was built on. I highlight and celebrate the early illustrations that built the identity of western cowboy culture that was compiled from all cultures that helped build it. My personal work focuses on the Native Cowboy that has developed from bareback warriors to ranchers in the saddle.”

White Buffalo has already yielded the loping “Horses & Weed,” faith-driven love song “More Than Me,” standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” with two-time CMA Award winner Cody Johnson and Munsick’s recent release “River Run.” Lauded by Billboard for its “gorgeous fiddle,” the “organic musical romp” paints a vivid image of the beauty of love, longing and their natural symbolism. Pre-order the album HERE and listen to “River Run” HERE.

About Ned LeDoux:
One of the most incredible things about great music is that it has the ability to take the listener to a place they’d rather be. A compelling song can carry someone back in time to a treasured memory, or transport a person to a spectacular western prairie they’ve only visited in their dreams. Ned LeDoux’s music has that kind of power. As a songwriter, he has a knack for bringing people, places and emotions vibrantly to life with his insightful lyrics, and warm, strong voice that makes him sound like a beloved friend you always want to hang out with. Those gifts are fully on display on LeDoux’s new album Buckskin.

“I’m writing my own story and if people take a liking to it, that’s wonderful,” says LeDoux. “As long as I’m writing from the heart, and writing about what I know, I can definitely listen back to it and be proud.”

Ned LeDoux is carrying on the family tradition created by legendary father Chris LeDoux, but he’s also charting his own course, and Buckskin is the latest step on that journey. “I hope I inspire people to never forget where you came from,” he says. “That’s one thing I’m very proud of. I’m carrying on a tradition, but I’m writing my own story. I’m very proud of my family and friends and there’s one piece of advice my mom gave me when we were kids: ‘Never forget where you came from and show respect to people no matter where you are.’ So with this album I hope to inspire and show people, ‘Hey this old cowboy isn’t changing for nobody.’ I want people to know they should never give up on a dream. There’s always time. Just keep on going.”

Watching Ricky Skaggs burn down the auditorium with Kentucky Thunder left me shook. 12 years later, I plan on doing the same thing, but this time, it’ll be Wyoming style. Ian Munsick Announces Sophomore Album "White Buffalo" Arriving April 7

DUE APRIL 7 ON WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE

Pre-Release Track “River Run” out TODAY

Tickets for Long Live Cowgirls 2023 Tour On Sale Now

Three years after introducing his mountain-high voice and canyon-deep lyrics with his critically acclaimed debut, Coyote Cry, Wyoming native Ian Munsick has completed an 18-track ode to the American West: his sophomore album White Buffalo is due April 7 on Warner Music Nashville. Munsick shares production credits across the project with collaborators including Jared Conrad, Jeremy Spillman and more. Pre-order White Buffalo HERE.

“A lot can happen in three years. In fact, I’ve had more change in my life in the last three years than the 26 years leading up to them,” Munsick shares. “I’ve become a father and a husband. I’ve become a better songwriter, entertainer and have finished working on my second album! Damn does it feel good to finally say that. White Buffalo will take you on a journey through the last three years of my life. Songs about love, loss, fatherhood, nostalgia, cowgirls and cow shit with, of course, plenty of fiddle. I could not be prouder of this record or more excited for you to hear it. It’s been three years in the making, but I promise you it’s been worth the wait.”

White Buffalo has already yielded the loping “Horses & Weed,” faith-driven love song “More Than Me” and standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” with two-time CMA Award winner Cody Johnson. With more than 70 million global streams, “Long Live Cowgirls” has topped SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown and spawned a 2023 tour of the same name. Munsick continues to welcome fans into the White Buffalo fold with the release of his newest track, “River Run” (listen HERE).

“Love and landscape… that’s what inspires me most as a songwriter, artist and producer,” Munsick says of the track he penned alongside Jeremy Spillman and Ryan Beaver. “Whenever I need inspiration, I just close my eyes and let the memory of the place I love most take me downstream. For this song, that place was the Tongue River. I remember fishing, swimming and rolling down the mountain cold waters in the heat of rodeo season… some of my fondest memories. I hope ‘River Run’ rolls you right back to wherever that place is for you.”

People magazine has declared, “In a world craving the chance again to be amongst beautiful landscapes and open air, there is the fresh music of Ian Munsick.” Over the past three years, Munsick has accumulated more than 375 million global streams on his stampeding, spirited portraits of the American West. Recalling cottonwoods and sagebrush, fan favorite track “Long Haul” twice charted on Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 and earned him an iHeartRadio Rocky Mountain Country Music Award for Song of the Year. Celebrated for a sound and stories that conjure “equal parts epic adventure and down-to-earth wisdom” (American Songwriter), Munsick has earned accolades from CMT (2023 “Listen Up Artist”), Country Now (2023 “Country Next: Artists to Watch”) Spotify (2022 “Hot Country Artist to Watch”), MusicRow magazine (2022 “Next Big Thing”) and more.

The noted entertainer and multi-instrumentalist will hit the road for his headlining Long Live Cowgirls 2023 Tour starting on Jan. 20 with a sold out show at the legendary Gruene Hall. Tickets for the run, which features up-and-coming singer / songwriter Ashland Craft, are available HERE.

JUNO Award Winning Rock Duo CROWN LANDS Join Greta Van Fleet on 'Dreams in Gold' Tour This Month

JUNO award-winning, powerhouse rock outfit Crown Lands are eager to embark on their most impactful US tour to date. The duo of Cody Bowles (vocals, drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, keys) will join the 2022 'Dreams In Gold' arena tour, supporting the one and only Greta Van Fleet! Crown Lands will begin their run on the tour on October 18 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Commenting on these upcoming shows, Cody & Kevin share:

"We’re very much looking forward to playing in the US again! It’s been years. We’ve missed the culture, the interstates, and the people. It’s an honour to be opening up for Greta Van Fleet. They opened the door for rock music to penetrate the mainstream in our generation. It feels like a natural fit. So many fans have called for us to tour together for years. It feels good to be making it happen!"

The Canadian prog-rockers go on to address making their return to the states this year, saying:

"Touring the USA right now is one of the hardest things a band can do. It has become absurdly expensive when you factor in fuel, hotels, Van maintenance, crew wages, work permit costs (trust me this is a big one). Not to mention the risk of covid and other illnesses when playing to arenas full of people. It’s a beautiful and risky endeavour. All of this, plus 8-hour drives each day to get on stage for a half hour. That time on stage is why we do it. We believe it’s worth it. We are a live band. It’s in our blood. This is why we do it! See you on the road."

ABOUT CROWN LANDS

Juno-Award winning rock-duo, Crown Lands’ self-titled debut album, produced by Grammy-nominated Dave Cobb, was released in the summer of 2020, to widespread acclaim from the likes of Guitar World, Kerrang!, and American Songwriter; coverage from the BBC and the CBC. Crown Lands then stormed into 2021 with two songs, “Context: Fearless Pt. 1” and “Right Way Back,” that returned them to their prog-rock roots and pointed the way to a limitless future, while also connecting the group to their legendary countrymen, Rush, after working with three prolific Rush producers – Terry Brown, Nick Raskulinecz and David Bottrill – on the tracks. “Context: Fearless Pt. 1” and “Right Way Back” premiered with Rolling Stone and were named “Rockest Record of the Week” on BBC Radio 1. Shortly after, Crown Lands received their first Juno Award nominations, for Rock Album of the Year and taking home the award for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Crown Lands continued their collaboration with Bottrill, releasing four more tracks they had worked on with him in the form of White Buffalo which included the mission-driven title track, “White Buffalo” which was presented as the third installment of a trilogy of songs addressing Indigenous rights. The series of songs connect the past with “Mountain,” the present with “End of the Road” while “White Buffalo” aspires to a prosperous future. Most recently, Crown Lands released their first-ever live record, Odyssey Volume 1 which celebrates songs from their emergent discography to date.

Hailing from Southwestern Ontario, powerhouse Canadian rock duo Crown Lands is a startlingly fresh jolt of energy, making music that brings together a range of influences

from folk and blues to psychedelic prog rock. The group’s name is indicative of their

musical ambitions: “Crown Land” is territorial area belonging to the monarch—or, as

Bowles (whose own heritage is half Mi’kmaw, an Indigenous tribe from Nova Scotia)

puts it: “Crown Land is stolen land and we are reclaiming.

Bowles (whose own heritage is half Mi’kmaw, an Indigenous tribe from Nova Scotia)

puts it: “Crown Land is stolen land and we are reclaiming

“With songs that speak to Canada’s much-mistreated indigenous population, Bowles and Comeau are counter-culturalists for our times, with one eye on the legacies of Rush, Yes and Genesis, and another firmly on the present, raising awareness of injustices that have too often gone unseen by the wider world.”

In anticipation of its release, the band divulge what people can expect, “the White Buffalo EP rounds out the experience of ‘White Buffalo’ and ‘The Oracle.’ ‘Inner Light’ and ‘The Witching Hour (Electric Witch)’ highlight our obsession with complex meter & harmonization. ‘Inner Light’ is the first Crown Lands instrumental, and we could not be prouder of it. We have continually pushed the boundaries of what two people can do.” They continue, “This is an ever-growing project and we are hopping back into the studio with David Bottrill to expand upon the themes presented in this body of work.”

“White Buffalo” which was released earlier this summer with “The Oracle,” is the third instalment of a trilogy of songs addressing Indigenous rights. The series of songs connect the past with “Mountain," the present with “End of the Road while “White Buffalo” aspires to a prosperous future.

“The first thing you notice when you listen to Crown Lands is the technical mastery the music demands. Comeau’s guitar is wailing, unrelenting and mathematically complex. Bowles’ voice howls their politically charged lyrics at a register reminiscent of the glory days of rock and roll.” – Next Magazine

“Fusing the bite of The White Stripes with the brains of Rush, exploring social issues such as the plight of Canada’s Indigenous people, and dressing like shamanic moonchildren on a mescaline trip, they could be rock’n’roll’s next royalty.” – Classic Rock

Juno Award-winning, powerhouse rock duo Crown Lands – Cody Bowles (vocals and drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, and keys) – share two new tracks, “White Buffalo” and “The Oracle” today through Spinefarm Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Both tracks were recorded with three-time Grammy Award-winning, Toronto producer David Bottrill (Tool, Mastodon, Rush, Peter Gabriel).

“White Buffalo” arrives as a symbol of aspiration, in recognition of the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities to overcome injustice while manifesting a prosperous future. The big guitars, stomping baseline and pummeling drums barrel forward as if to conjure the movement of a giant buffalo.

“White Buffalo is the third instalment in our trilogy of songs about Indigenous rights,” says Crown Lands. “Mountain is what happened. “End of the Road” is what is happening. White Buffalo is manifesting what will happen: overcoming oppression and rising up to reclaim one’s land. The White Buffalo is a symbol of manifestation. When Colonizers came to North America they tried to wipe out the Buffalo to starve Indigenous people to death. The buffalo are still here. We are too, and together we’ll overcome. Also, never has 7/8 ever been more danceable.”

“White Buffalo” is released today with the accompanying official music video, directed by Alim Sabir. The spirited visual sees Crown Lands immersed in the elements, performing in a new age forest with dancers that fortify the theme of movement.

Over the course of a thirteen-minute, multi-part composition, “The Oracle,” continues another story that Crown Lands is creating, revealing the origins of the Queen character featured in the “Context: Fearless Pt. 1” music video. “We wanted to take the listener somewhere and evoke a sense of adventure,” says Bowles. Taking solace from the realities Crown Lands confront in a fictional world they continue to create.

Crown Lands were introduced to Grammy Award-winning producer David Bottrill after he produced the vocals for the band’s last release, “Context: Fearless Pt. 1.” Comeau recalls, “The riff for ‘White Buffalo’ came to me during the Context / Right Way Back session with Nick Raskulinecz back in February 2020. It felt addicting and special then. It was originally written in 13/8 and the chorus was in 7. It kept popping its head up in jam sessions, but we weren’t sure how to make the chorus work. Enter David Bottrill.” On working with the esteemed producer, Comeau continues, “Dave is one of the most meticulous and detail-oriented people we’ve worked with. His precision helped make these songs exactly what they needed to be.”

Fans now have a chance to experience a Crown Lands live set up-close-and-personal as the band announce a hometown show on December 1, 2021 at the Axis Club (Formally The Mod Club) in Toronto. Tickets are available now on Ticketmaster.
