SEVEN SPIRES Shares New Single "Love's Souvenir" + Music Video

Today, SEVEN SPIRES is excited to share their new single, "Love's Souvenir," taken from their recent album 'A Fortress Called Home,' out now via Frontiers Music Srl. The new single is accompanied by a music video, available below.

SEVEN SPIRES vocalist Adrienne Cowan comments on the new single and video:

'Love’s Souvenir' was born on one of the darkest days of the production of our fourth studio album 'A Fortress Called Home.' It’s a song about believing you must be extraordinary to be loved, and the aching marble museum that carves inside. It was a way to confront the shame of craving connection, and the long-standing fear of loss when there’s no energy left to perform. I always had the feeling 'Love’s Souvenir' needed a music video. Nearly ten months after the album’s release, we finally get to show it to the world: brocade-and-silk-clad agony filmed in a desecrated church in subzero temperatures. It’s beautiful and ugly, polished and raw as the album itself. Working with Chris Kells’ team again was cathartic and wonderfully arty as always. And, if it’s possible to say about something so painful, I’m incredibly happy with and proud of the final result 🤍"

SEVEN SPIRES is an American symphonic metal band. Since their inception in 2013 at Berklee College of Music, these best friends have forged their home in the darker corners of the melodic metal world. To support the release of their fourth studio LP, 'A Fortress Called Home,' SEVEN SPIREStoured on three continents: first in Europe as direct support to Skálmöld with Atavistia as first support, then in North America directly supporting Kamelot with Ad Infinitum also featured on the bill. To end 2024, SEVEN SPIRES embarked on their first-ever headlining tour of Japan with Lords of the Trident.

SEVEN SPIRES Celebrates 5 Year Anniversary of 'Emerald Seas' with Re-Recorded Version of "The Road" + Music Video

SEVEN SPIRES celebrates the five year anniversary of their acclaimed album 'Emerald Seas' with a re-recorded version of "The Road", which is accompanied by a music video.

"The Road", originally only released as a bonus track on the Japan edition of 'Emerald Seas', has now been revitalized with new recording, mixing, and mastering as well as featuring Dylan Gowan's drumming on a recorded SEVEN SPIRES song for the first time.

About the re-recorded version of "The Road", the band comments:

"'The Road' was a very fun and special song that was originally the exclusive bonus track for the Japanese release of our second album, 'Emerald Seas'. It’s hard to believe it, but now, for the album’s 5-year anniversary, we wanted to give a facelift and update to this track and release it for the rest of the world to enjoy.

"Aside from a couple of orchestral and keyboard parts, this version of 'The Road' is entirely re-recorded, remixed, and remastered, including Dylan Gowan’s fantastic drumming for the first time on a recorded SEVEN SPIRES song. It’s a fitting one, because Dylan basically jumped in the deep end with our recent show schedule, and as you can see from the accompanying video we put together for the release, it’s been nothing but a blast having him on tour with us!

"It’s a fast-paced, technically-challenging, super uplifting anthem celebrating the shared joy of live metal shows, and we hope you love our new version of 'The Road' as much as we loved making it for you."

Seven Spires on the new single: “‘Lightbringer’ is a song about revelling in life's fleeting pleasures, and indulging the parts of yourself that the world demonised. It was born from a love of Korean Pop Music, and in the context of the story of the album "Gods of Debauchery", it sees our detached anti-hero sailing from port to port, collecting a loyal crew of devotees without regard for the collateral damage left in their wake."

On the album "Gods of Debauchery", the band continues: "There is a ton of influence from video games, films, and TV soundtracks such as Skyrim, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Lucifer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel films, and many more, plus our love for classic Kamelot, Dimmu Borgir, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Late Romantic Classical Music. The most important part of making art is staying true to yourself, and we unapologetically did exactly that, which meant exploring every corner of what we love about music, and constantly pushing the technical limits of our own musicianship."

FIRST SINGLE & VIDEO, THE TITLE TRACK, OUT TODAY

Coming off their critically praised sophomore album, "Emerald Seas", Seven Spires are set to return with their third, and by far, most ambitious album to date, "Gods Of Debauchery" on September 10, 2021. "The song “Gods of Debauchery” became the title track because it was the perfect exposition for the story and our Hero’s mindset: a loathing-laced mockery of who they were in the events of our last two albums “Solveig” and “Emerald Seas”. They had gotten everything they wanted, but at the cost of their humanity, and there was no way to go back, no second chances, no possible way to redeem themselves," says the band of the first official single and music video from the album.

"Gods Of Debauchery" offers an incredible feast of music styles within the broad tent of heavy metal. From symphonic to progressive to black to death metal influences, coupled with emotional ballads, this record is an exquisite sonic and lyrical journey for the discerning metalhead. This band is the present and the future of the genre and continue Frontiers' tradition of identifying and signing the most promising young talents.

"There is a ton of influence from video games, films, and TV soundtracks such as Skyrim, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Lucifer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel films, and many more, plus our love for classic Kamelot, Dimmu Borgir, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Late Romantic Classical Music. The most important part of making art is staying true to yourself, and we unapologetically did exactly that, which meant exploring every corner of what we love about music, and constantly pushing the technical limits of our own musicianship," the band says about the making of "Gods Of Debauchery".

Seven Spires, an American metal quartet, specializes in melancholic tales and tenebrous grandeur. Part bittersweet melodic metal anthems, part apocalyptic melodic death and black metal, and part Classical Romanticists, they are storytellers who draw from across the traditional spectrum of metal and beyond to weave tragedies of demons, death, love, and the peculiarities of human condition.

The band met while studying at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, so their musicianship is in keeping with the metal tradition of maintaining a tireless work ethic to be the best at your craft. Following a highly successful crowdfunding campaign and release of their debut album “Solveig" (2017), Seven Spires performed extensively in the US, Canada, and at festivals such as MetalDays, 70,000 Tons of Metal, and ProgPower USA. That success combined with their stunning musicianship and songs, prompted Frontiers to sign the band to their rapidly expanding metal roster. The band’s sophomore album, “Emerald Seas" (2020) was a highly emotional, dark, and theatrical release. The band, as with their debut, collaborated with Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Kamelot, Epica, etc), who mixed and mastered the album. Incidentally, Adrienne Cowan was handpicked by Paeth to front his new band, Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony and she was also chosen as one of the touring vocalists for the hugely popular Avantasia project.

SEVEN SPIRES RELEASE NEW SINGLE

LISTEN TO 'THE CURSED MUSE' NOW

NEW STUDIO ALBUM OUT THIS FALL

Seven Spires have released a brand new single, 'The Cursed Muse' today. The song sees the band seamlessly blending their love of the heavy, symphonic, and black metal genres into a mesmerizing mix that is simultaneously furious and catchy.

"'The Cursed Muse' is the reintroduction of our exhausted hero from the previous two albums. Haunted by demons of the past, this sea-captain-turned-psychopomp contemplates their future: a lonesome eternity riddled with regret, resentment, and the crushing belief that they do not deserve happiness," says the band.

The single serves as an appetizer for the forthcoming epic new studio album from the band, due this fall on Frontiers Music Srl. More details on that forthcoming in the weeks ahead.
