The title OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE is itself a warning: a caution against a world in which the rise of AI has come to symbolize humanity’s growing confusion over what it means to be human. More than a framework of “against AI” or “against technology,” this album calls for the liberation of the soul in response to a world that is steadily being bleached of color, and to the brutality of people who, having stopped thinking for themselves, continue to hurt one another. That is the reason coldrain continues to fight. And OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE is the album where that essence appears more youthful, pure, and unfiltered than ever before - a human fuse burning toward ignition.

Coldrain, the quintet that is about to release their 8th album, first emerged in Japan in 2007, proudly identifying themselves as a “loud rock” band. Their songwriting, heavily influenced by the nu-metal and emo/screamo movements of the 2000s, resonated directly with the youth culture of America at the time. Yet in the Japanese rock scene of that era, “loud music” was still largely associated with melodic punk and pop-punk. As a result of that advance, coldrain absorbed musical elements far beyond nu-metal and screamo alone. While maintaining melodies that carried a distinctly Japanese sense of emotion, they transformed into a chimera capable of crossing through every subgenre of rock. Their ability to be both heavy and endlessly pop became their greatest weapon.

Now, especially since joining forces with Century Media Records, the very fact that their music cannot be defined by a single attribute - and the very “in-between” quality of their style - has become a musical identity unconstrained by borders or genres, radiating an originality that stands among the strongest in the world.

coldrain are a band whose lives were changed by music that could never have been born in Japan, and yet they themselves are a hybrid that could only have emerged from the Galápagos-like environment of Japan. That is coldrain. Rather than needing to acquire a new place, coldrain were able to turn simply “being themselves” into music in its most unfiltered form. As a result, OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE is pierced throughout by a youthful rawness that feels almost impossible for a band nearing twenty years since its formation.

HANABIE. Drop New Track "Life Is Short, O Brave Girl" via Sony Music Japan For Upcoming Anime 'Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games' on Crunchyroll

Japanese Harajuku-core sensation HANABIE. have today released their new single, "Life Is Short, O Brave Girl" alongside the official music video (via Sony Music Japan). The track will serve as the opening theme for the upcoming anime series Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games and will be available on all major streaming platforms worldwide.

Known for their explosive blend of metalcore, hardcore and Japanese pop culture influences, HANABIE. bring their signature energy to the new song, which captures the passion, determination and youthful spirit at the heart of the anime's story.

Based on the popular manga series, Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games follows Mitsuki Aya, a student at the prestigious Girls' Academy who discovers her refined and idolized classmate is actually a hardcore, trash-talking fighting-game enthusiast. Despite the academy's strict ban on gaming, the two bond through their shared passion and begin a series of intense battles that spark both rivalry and friendship.

Reflecting the anime's themes of dedication and self-expression, HANABIE.'s new single delivers a powerful mix of aggression, melody and infectious energy.

Speaking about the collaboration, the band shared:

“Since the anime is set at an all-girls school, we felt a strong connection to the story. HANABIE. was also formed by students from an all-girls school during our high school years, so we could really relate to the passion and dedication the characters have for something they love. As we worked on the song, we found ourselves recalling many memories and felt excited imagining how the track would come together. We're huge fans of anime and video games ourselves, so it's a real honor to be involved with such a wonderful series."

When asked about "Life Is Short, O Brave Girl", vocalist Yukina commented:

Since this is an anime theme song, I read the original work and immersed myself completely in its world while writing the song! For the lyrics, I included words that fans of Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games will hopefully recognize and think, "Oh!" when they hear them. I also reflected on my own youth, remembering the things our faculty advisor said to us when we were attending an all-girls school and passionately playing in a band while being obsessed with heavy music, as well as the rebellious spirit I felt during those days.I hope this song becomes one that overflows with energy for anyone who is passionately devoted to something!

HANABIE. guitarist and vocalist Matsuri stated:

We had the honor of writing this song for the TV anime Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games. HANABIE. and the characters in the anime have many things in common, such as growing up in an all-girls school and dedicating ourselves wholeheartedly to something during our school days. Because of that, there were many moments during the songwriting process when I could truly relate to the story, and it made creating the song a lot of fun. Rather than trying to neatly blend HANABIE.'s world with the world of the anime, we focused on finding the best way for the passion and energy of both to collide. I would be very happy if this song reaches many people.

Bassist Hettsu said:

As the theme song for the TV anime Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games, this song expresses the world of fighting games through a powerful sound! One of its greatest charms is the way it combines the tension of battle scenes, the exhilarating feeling of youth, and the graceful elegance of young ladies. For the bass, I played with groove and a sense of momentum in mind so that it could support the song's energy. I would be happy if, along with the rhythm that makes you want to move your body, listeners can also feel the straightforward emotions of our student days, when we were completely devoted to something.

Drummer Chika also shared:

As the opening theme song for the TV anime Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games, this song is a perfect match for the world of the anime! While capturing the energy of the characters and the battles, it turned into a song that naturally gets you excited. One drum highlight to listen for is during the chorus, where I strike the China cymbal four times in sync with the lyrics, "MATCH UP!! SMASH UP!!" I hope everyone will enjoy listening to it again and again together with the anime.

'Happy Pills' is already familiar to our fans, but this new version breathes life into something beloved for some time. It has the new sound of who we are today while sticking to the roots of what we know our fans love. We didn’t want to change much but wanted them to hear what it would sound like re-recorded today. ABOUT WEATHERS

Southern California-based alternative rock band Weathers — lead singer/frontman Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsen and bassist Brennen Bates — have been consistently creating finely crafted introspective pop songs heavily inspired by the counter-culture of the 80s and 90s since forming in 2015. The band makes music that speaks to those among us who tend to forget that, regardless of outward appearances, everyone is struggling with something and that no one is alone. Weathers’ story is a tale of growing up, of coming into one’s own, and includes themes of depression or anxiety and the often difficult maintenance of mental health.

They first grabbed listeners' attention with 2016's "Happy Pills," which peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Initially, vocalist Boyer and guitarist Olsen met in 2012 while attending a battle of the bands in the Los Angeles suburb of Manhattan Beach. By 2015, they had formed Weathers, recruiting bassist Bates. Signing with RCA Records, they released their debut single, "I Don't Wanna Know," a swaggeringly moody song that drew comparisons to Walk the Moon and The Neighbourhood. Fans followed, and in March 2016 they landed a slot at SXSW. Their follow-up single, "Happy Pills," garnered the band even more attention, becoming the most added track to rock radio in July 2016. In 2018, they issued the Kids in the Night EP, featuring the single "1983."

ICE NINE KILLS Slash Their Way To First Ever #1 At Active Rock Radio With "Twisting The Knife"

Ice Nine Kills enter the fog today with “Play Dead,” a brand-new single and accompanying music video created in collaboration with Dead by Daylight, the world’s leading multiplayer horror game. Written for Dead by Daylight’s 10th Anniversary celebrations and announced on their anniversary live stream, “Play Dead” brings Ice Nine Killsinto one of horror gaming’s most iconic worlds, uniting two genre-obsessed universes built on suspense, survival, mythology, and the thrill of the kill.

The track was created in collaboration with longtime Dead by Daylight composer Michel F. April and arrives alongside an in-game Ice Nine Kills Collection, allowing players to represent the band inside the game’s ever-expanding horror universe with unique DLC.

Fans can stream “Play Dead” now HERE and watch the accompanying music video BELOW

The release follows the band’s first-ever #1 at Active Rock Radio with “Twisting The Knife (feat. Mckenna Grace),” the official song from Scream 7, and continues an extraordinary run that has seen Ice Nine Kills soundtrack some of modern horror’s biggest moments across film, gaming, and beyond.

The forthcoming part two of the music video continues INK’s celebrated lore, which has featured genre stars including Matthew Lillard (Scream), David Arquette (Scream), Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie’s), Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), and Bill Mosely (The Devil’s Rejects), among many others. “Play Dead” welcomes skateboard legend Tony Hawk, Devon Sawa (Idle Hands), Krsy Fox (Terrifier 3), and the Dead by Daylight team to the INKverse.

Ice Nine Kills mastermind Spencer Charnas shares:

“Ice Nine Kills has always lived somewhere between menace and mischief. ‘Play Dead,’ our take on Dead by Daylight, is a collision of hooks, horror, and total chaos. As lifelong horror fans, we find it surreal and an absolute honor to have Ice Nine Kills’ music officially tied to Terrifier, Scream, Ready or Not, and now, the iconic survival horror game Dead by Daylight.

Collaborating with Dead by Daylight gave us the chance to step into a world that feels deeply aligned with our creative instincts. The game has an incredible legacy, and that chaotic, eerie, immersive energy is something we respect and admire. We wanted the song to feel like a real extension of that universe, not just inspired by it, but genuinely part of it.

We worked closely with longtime composer Michel F. April to ensure every detail, from the atmosphere to the intensity, felt true to the game, and we spent time on set with Dead by Daylight creatives Mathieu Cote and Eric Pope, as well as player experts like SpookyLoopz.

The video also features iconic genre star Devon Sawa. He’s one of my favorite actors, from Idle Hands and Final Destination to literally playing “Stan” in the Eminem video. And we’ve got Krsy Fox, one of the new modern horror scream queens, who not only had a showstopping performance in Terrifier 3, but is a kickass indie horror film producer, too.

Having Tony Hawk appear with us felt essential because he isn’t just the Michael Jordan of skateboarding. He’s synonymous with the marriage of music, gaming, and subculture. We bonded over the same offbeat pop-culture touchstones, from punk rock to the irreverent ’80s comedies like The Naked Gun that shaped my brain just as much as horror did.

And of course, Dingbar Tarbani slithered in to make things even stranger.”

Dead by Daylight has become a definitive force in interactive horror, bringing together an ever-expanding roster of original and iconic Killers and Survivors from across film, television, gaming, and beyond. With more than 70 million players worldwide, the game has built a vast, collision-ready universe where horror’s most unforgettable characters can share the same blood-soaked playground.

Dead by Daylight has always been about celebrating horror in all its forms, and Ice Nine Kills shares that same passion for the genre we have,” said Mat Côté, Head of Partnerships for Dead by Daylight. We’ve always been big fans of their music, and their creativity and deep connection to horror culture made this collab feel incredibly natural. We’re excited for our players to represent the band in-game with the Collection we created together, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience the new Dead by Daylight crossover track the guys cooked up.

Play Dead” follows a succession of high-profile horror collaborations that have cemented Ice Nine Kills as one of the genre’s most natural musical counterparts. “A Work of Art” served as the official song from Terrifier 3, the highest-grossing unrated film ever. “Twisting The Knife (feat. Mckenna Grace)” played over the closing credits of Scream 7, the blockbuster sequel that delivered the biggest domestic opening weekend in the franchise’s history. Ice Nine Kills Presents “Hell or High Slaughter (Grave Diggler: Pt. 2)” then blazed into Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, deepening the band’s expanding lore with the introduction of their “fathers’” band. Most recently, it was revealed that Spencer will also be voicing a character in the highly anticipated Halloween: The Game exclusively available as part of the game's Digital Deluxe Edition releasing on September 4, 2026.

Now, with “Play Dead,” Ice Nine Kills step fully into horror gaming.

Twenty years on from their debut album, the band continue to build one of the most immersive worlds in modern heavy music, where songs become scenes, videos become lore, and every new release sharpens the blade for whatever comes next.

Brand of Sacrifice Return With Explosive Double Single "Seeing Red" & "This Place Wasn't Meant For Us"

Canadian deathcore titans Brand of Sacrifice have returned with a devastating double single, “Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us,” marking the band’s first new music since late 2023 and the opening strike of a major new chapter. Arriving with the scale, precision, and emotional force that have made Brand Of Sacrifice one of heavy music’s most singular modern bands and serious contenders for the modern deathcore crown, the two tracks feel both newly sharpened and deeply connected to the sound, scale, and conviction that the band are known for.

Since their formation in 2018, Brand of Sacrifice have built a world around a lethal combination of force and feeling. Across every era, their sound has carried the feeling of standing at the edge of something enormous, where beauty, violence, grief, and transformation all collide in the same frame. With the two new tracks released today, Brand of Sacrifice reconnect with the atmosphere and emotion of early releases The Interstice, their 2019 debut EP, and their 2021 Billboard-charting, Juno-nominated sophomore album Lifeblood. The result is a continuation of the band’s formative instincts: visceral heaviness, cinematic unease and emotional immediacy, sharpened through the force and command of the band they have become.

Seeing Red,” sees the band come out swinging with one of their most direct and overwhelmingly brutal tracks to date. Built for devastating impact, the track is arguably one of the heaviest in the band’s catalog but underneath the brutality is something more human. The track speaks to the desperate search for agency when everything feels unstable, turning the guttural chaos of the music into something listeners can connect to on an emotional level.

Its companion, “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us,” leans into the band’s gift for atmosphere and tension. Hauntingly eerie, cinematic, and slow-burning before the earth finally gives way, the track pulls the listener deeper into the darker, moodier sonic world-building side of Brand of Sacrifice.

Speaking on the new singles, vocalist Kyle Anderson shares:

“Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us” mark an incredible moment for us as our first new material since 2023. While these songs push Brand of Sacrifice forward, they also reconnect with elements of our past, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere and emotion of The Interstice and our sophomore release Lifeblood. We wanted to strip things back and focus on something more visceral, and honest while capturing a sense of nostalgia without simply repeating ourselves. We’re very proud of these tracks and can’t wait for everyone to experience this next chapter with us.”

Today’s new tracks follow the band’s 2023 EP Between Death and Dreams and standalone single “Purge,” which also marked their signing to Nuclear Blast Records after their incendiary independent rise. That chapter expanded Brand of Sacrifice’s emotional and thematic range, with Anderson moving away from the anime themes of previous releases and looking inward to explore the darker trenches of the human condition while the band continued to stretch their sound into increasingly cinematic territory.

With “Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us,” Brand of Sacrifice pull the atmospheric world building and cinematic violence of their formative work into the present with the same level of brutality and a closer examination of the human condition. Every detail feels sharpened by the band they are now: heavier in impact, broader in theme and atmosphere, and more direct in intent. It is the sound of a band stepping into their next chapter with total command of the world they have built.

Tickets go on general sale Friday, June 19 at 10am local.

20 Years Unplugged gives fans the chance to experience Daughtry’s catalogue in a stripped-back acoustic setting, reframing the songs that have soundtracked arenas, rock radio milestones, and some of the most defining moments of the band’s career. The tour will pull the band’s music into a more raw and immediate space, where the weight of a lyric, the scrape of a guitar string, and the quiet before a chorus can hit as hard as the full-band impact.

The announcement follows the release of SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (DELUXE), the complete edition of Daughtry’s two-part project via Big Machine Rock. The collection brings together SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART ONE) and SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART TWO), along with additional live recordings that capture the force and connection of the band’s latest era. Across tracks including “ARTIFICIAL,” “PIECES,” “THE BOTTOM,” and “ANTIDOTE,” Daughtry continue to channel grief, change, confrontation, and self-reclamation into some of their heaviest and most emotionally direct work to date.

For an artist whose songs have always lived at the intersection of power and vulnerability, 20 Years Unplugged will see Daughtry strip down some of their biggest and most meaningful tracks, distilling them to their purest form and bringing fans closer to the songs, the stories, and the unmistakable voice that have carried the band from one of the biggest rock debuts of the century through two decades of connection, evolution, and success.

Support for the tour will come from up-and-coming alt rock star, Ryan Perdz. The Buffalo, NY singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist recently announced his debut album Can’t Cry, out August 14 via Big Machine Rock, and has been building momentum with the release of “Sour,” “Heavy Eyes,” and his fresh reimagining of MGMT’s “Time to Pretend.” Raised on his grandparents’ family farm and citing rock icons such as Chris Cornell, John Frusciante and Kurt Cobain as some of his biggest influences, Perdz’s unique brand of guitar-driven songwriting brings a raw, melodic voice to a new generation of modern rock.

Ryan Perdz Drops New Track "Time to Pretend" via Big Machine Rock

Buffalo, New York singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Perdz has released his fan-favorite, fresh reimagination of "Time to Pretend". Prior to today, Perdz released tracks "Sour" and most recently, the emotionally compelling "Heavy Eyes" along with the announcement of his debut album 'Can't Cry', set for release on August 14 via Big Machine Rock. Speaking about "Time to Pretend", Perdz commented:

'Time to Pretend' is the first cover I’ve ever released. I wanted to record something that I could change the genre and really make my own. The lyrics are so raw and I felt like heavy distortion and new guitar riffs would transform the song into something new. The angsty lyrics paired up with heavy guitars turn the song into a new rock fueled anthem.”

Fans have their chance to see Perdz on his Summer 2026 tour going on now and wrapping on Friday, June 19 in Chicago, Illinois(tickets available at the link here). Stream "Time to Pretend" below and pre-save 'Can't Cry' here.

Wes Parker Releases Debut Album 'Super Rare' And Shares "Dinosaur Park" Official Video via Big Machine Rock

Rising alt-rock artist Wes Parker has today released his eagerly anticipated debut album 'Super Rare' via Big Machine Rock. In celebration of the release, Parker dropped the gorgeously cinematic official music video for his haunting single, "Dinosaur Park". Leading up to today, he released tracks "Bad Doggie" and most recently, "Little Birdie", along with their respective visual accompaniments. Speaking about "Dinosaur Park", Parker shared:

‘Dinosaur Park’ is a song inspired by the 2009 disappearance and likely murder of Susan Powell in Utah. I’m not usually a true crime person, but hearing her story deeply affected me and left me heartbroken for her and her family. This manifested through a dark but propulsive track with haunting guitar riffs and a sort of uneasy undercurrent that feels somewhere in the world of Radiohead sonically. "Mommy stayed the night where the crystals grow" is a lyric that was a direct quote from one of her late children (at the time 4 years old) when asked where their mother was the night of her disappearance.

'Super Rare' is available now on all streaming platforms at the link here. Watch the official music video for "Dinosaur Park" below.

After wrapping up his Spring headlining tour across North America, Parker is now on the road with indie-folk powerhouse Shakey Graves. Fans will also have their chance to see him at this year's All Things Go Fest in Washington, D.C., spanning the weekend of Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, alongside alternative and indie rock juggernauts including Mitski, Hayley Williams, Brandi Carlile, and many more. Evil Island Announce Debut Album; Drop Music Video For New Single "Animal"

Evil Island have announced their debut album, Terraform The Afterlife, arriving August 14 via Blowed Out Records. Born from the creative firestorm that followed The Blood Brothers' 2024 reunion tour, the record finds Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato, Mark Gajadhar and Autry Fulbright pushing their collective chemistry into bold new territory. Today, the band also share the album's second single, “Animal,” alongside an unhinged new music video that transforms a sun-bleached desert gathering into an increasingly violent cultish nightmare. Fans can pre-order Terraform The Afterlife on vinyl HERE. Stream “AnimalHERE and watch the blood-soaked music video Below

Produced by Ross Robinson, Terraform The Afterlife also features a carefully selected cast of guest vocal performances, including Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells, Michael Gatto of XCOMM, Jordan Blilie of The Blood Brothers and Fugazi's Guy Picciotto, marking his first recorded vocal performance since Fugazi's 2002 album The Argument.

Speaking on today’s announcement, Evil Island vocalist, Johnny Whitney shares

“Evil Island was born out of the firestorm of creative energy that Cody, Mark and I felt when The Blood Brothers reunion tour ended in 2024. My brain was on fire, I was gripped with a kind of mania. I had so many ideas rattling around in my skull that if I didn’t make something new with my friends, the psychic damage probably would’ve manifested as some exotic form of cancer.

I knew our story wasn’t over. More importantly, I knew our particular strain of feral pop hardcore felt more necessary than ever given that the world is boiling in bullshit. So we wrote eleven songs, brought Ross Robinson into the fold, then Autry joined the band, and suddenly everything locked into place.

With Terraform the Afterlife, we let Ross completely off the leash. What was supposed to be a two-week recording session turned into a five-month descent into something far bigger than we imagined. We built a musical world that’s dazzling, violent, joyful, ugly, melodic, brutal and somehow still coherent. We put every drop of ourselves into this record. Terraform the Afterlife is the most creatively gratifying thing I’ve ever been part of, these songs will be fucked into my skull forever.”

Picciotto's appearance carries particular significance. A longtime friend and collaborator of the band who previously worked with The Blood Brothers on their acclaimed 2006 album Young Machetes, he was drawn back into the studio after receiving a call from Cody Votolato while Evil Island were deep into recording.

Speaking on how this rare and exceptionally special collaboration came about, Guy Picciotto shares

“Last November I got a text from Cody Votolato checking in and asking to talk on the phone. I had worked as a producer with Cody and his Blood Brothers compatriots on their last album ‘Young Machetes’ and those guys had become some of the dearest people in the world to me. The experience of making that record was such a blast - both hilarious in terms of humor and hi-jinx but also hugely revitalizing to me in terms of getting to watch their musicality, their creativity and their camaraderie up close.

“I had been blown away by their reunion shows the year before and had thought they were even better than ever so I was expecting Cody to maybe drop news of more shows in the offing. I certainly wasn't expecting him to drop the bomb that he, Johnny and Mark had formed a new band with Autry and that they were already fully in deep tracking an album with Ross Robinson back in the producer saddle with them. I was even more surprised when Cody asked if I would be up for singing back-ups on one of the tracks. Given that my general attitude vis-a-vis the Blood Brothers is that I would take a bullet for any of them, I felt like I had to at least give it a shot despite not having sung on a recording since the last Fugazi album THE ARGUMENT back in 2002.”

Today’s announcement arrives following a remarkable start for the band. Evil Island's debut single “Tiger Baby” sold out its entire pressing of 300 hand-signed 7-inch records in less than six hours, while the band's live lineup has expanded with the addition of Todd Weinstock, formerly of Glassjaw, on second guitar. His arrival adds another direct thread to the early-2000s post-hardcore ecosystem and further strengthens Evil Island's live incarnation as the band prepare to bring this new material into the world for the first time.

Initially envisioned as a brief recording session, Evil Island’s time in the studio expanded into a five-month creative odyssey with Robinson behind the board. Across thirteen tracks, Terraform The Afterlife embraces contradiction at every turn, balancing melody and abrasion, beauty and ugliness, joy and destruction into a singular musical world.

If “Tiger Baby” opened the door to Evil Island's universe, “Animal” now tears it from its hinges.Set against the stark backdrop of the desert, the accompanying video follows the band as the leaders of a mysterious cult-like gathering. Dressed in white and surrounded by devoted followers, they move through increasingly unsettling rituals as day gives way to night. What begins as something communal, hypnotic and strangely playful gradually mutates into a hallucinatory nightmare of violence, devotion and bloodshed.

Providing further context on the release, Johnny Whitney continues

“‘Animal’ felt enormous almost immediately. It’s the only song we’ve ever written that sounds authentically like us while also sounding like it could be blasted through the PA at a football stadium. Our pitch for the music video was basically, ‘What if ISIS started making TikTok dance videos?’ I don’t know if we achieved that, but I did get to smash a head with a sledgehammer, which feels like a good sign.”

Terraform The Afterlife will be released on August 14, 2026 via Blowed Out Record. Vinyl pre-orders available now HERE.

About Evil Island

Evil Island is Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato and Mark Gajadhar of The Blood Brothers alongside Autry Fulbright of OFF! and …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, with Todd Weinstock of Glassjaw joining the band’s live lineup on second guitar.

Formed in the wake of The Blood Brothers’ 2024 reunion activity, Evil Island emerged when Whitney, Votolato and Gajadhar found themselves compelled to continue creating together. With Fulbright joining the band and legendary producer Ross Robinson behind the board, what began as a brief recording project quickly expanded into a five-month creative odyssey that became the band’s debut album, Terraform The Afterlife.

The album features guest appearances from Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells, XCOMM vocalist Michael Gatto, Blood Brothers vocalist Jordan Billie, and Fugazi’s Guy Picciotto, whose contribution marks his first recorded vocal performance since Fugazi’s 2002 album The Argument.

For musicians whose collective work helped shape underground music for an entire generation, Evil Island is neither a reunion nor a side project. It is the sound of artists continuing to push themselves creatively, resulting in a debut album that is ambitious, unpredictable and entirely its own.

HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD To Co-Headline Taste Of Chaos 2026; Drop New Single "Feels Like Home"

Hollywood Undead return today with brand new single “Feels Like Home,” out now via Sumerian Records. The track finds the multi-platinum rap-rock powerhouse turning pain into belonging, delivering a bruised, melodic anthem for anyone who has grown too familiar with the weight they have been carrying. Stream “Feels Like Home” now HERE and watch the accompanying lyric video Below.

The release arrives alongside the announcement that Hollywood Undead will co-headline the return of the Taste of Chaos tour this fall with In This Moment and special guests I See Stars, Vana, and Melrose Avenue. Ticketing info and full routing below.

Feels Like Home” delivers the unique brand of emotional gravity that could only come from Hollywood Undead. The track captures the strange comfort of survival when darkness becomes routine, turning isolation into something communal, cathartic, and unmistakably Undead. Speaking on the release, Hollywood Undead share:

““Feels Like Home” is about getting used to the things that are slowly breaking you. It’s a song for the broken, a reminder that they’re not alone and that with us, they’re right at home.”

Feels Like Home” follows the band’s recent run of single releases since signing with Sumerian Records, including “Hollywood Forever,” “SAVIOR,” “1x1,” and “All My Friends” feat. Jeris Johnson. Together, the tracks have marked a renewed chapter for Hollywood Undead, one that has reintroduced their iconic masks, sharpened the emotional and sonic extremes of their creative identity, and carried the band into one of the most successful stretches of their career.

Hollywood Forever,” the band’s October 2024 Sumerian Records debut, set the tone for this era, cracking 20.3 million cross-platform streams and peaking at #18 at Active Rock radio. “SAVIOR” followed in June 2025, pulling the band in a darker, more emotionally exposed direction, before “1x1” arrived in March 2026 with a sample of Slayer’s legendary “Raining Blood” riff and the sound of a band still dominating a genre, almost two decades into their career. Most recently, “All My Friends” feat. Jeris Johnson pushed Hollywood Undead into a darker, more theatrical lane.

Hollywood Undead continue a major year of live activity across North America, the UK, and Europe. Following their appearance at Welcome To Rockville earlier this month, the band heads overseas for a full summer run that includes Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring, Download, Nova Rock, Graspop Metal Meeting, Jera On Air, Vainstream, and select headline dates across Germany, Poland, Switzerland, and beyond. They will return to North America later this summer for Inkcarceration Festival, Rock Fest, Les Grandes Fêtes TELUS, Rock La Cauze, Rocklahoma, and the newly announced return of the Taste of Chaos Tour that they will co-headline with In This Moment.

The Taste Of Chaos 2026 tour will begin on September 22nd in Charlotte, NC and will hit a further 21 cities across the US before culminating in Anaheim, CA on October 26th. Artist pre-sales and VIP packages begin at 10am local on Monday, June 1st, with venue pre-sales beginning at 10am local on Tuesday, June 2nd, and general on sale beginning at 10am local on Wednesday, June 3rd. XCOMM Drop "PIRATES" ft. GHOSTEMANE Ahead of Debut Album Release This Evening

Venice Beach hardcore punk unit XCOMM have released their new single and official music video “PIRATES” ft. GHOSTEMANE today, one final grenade before the arrival of their debut album, Time To Burn, which hits streaming platforms tonight at 9pm PT / 12am ET via Blowed Out Records. Fans can watch the official music video for "PIRATES” ft. GHOSTEMANE which stars XCOMM, Ghostemane and Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise Below and stream the track HERE. Time To Burn will be available on streaming platforms this evening at 9pm PT/12am ET HERE

Produced by Ross Robinson, the architect behind era-defining records from Korn, Slipknot, Glassjaw, At The Drive-In, The Cure and more, Time To Burn perfectly crystalizes the essence of XCOMM - young, loud, funny, furious and swinging for the fences. With a level of craft rarely so expertly honed this early in a band’s career, XCOMM have delivered a once-in-a-generation debut that bottles the raw charge of a new wave powered by defiance, authenticity and unbridled talent.

“PIRATES" ft. GHOSTEMANE brings XCOMM’s feral hardcore velocity into direct contact with GHOSTEMANE’s ominously powerful presence. The accompanying video, directed by Darren Craig, also features GHOSTEMANE and Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, throwing the band’s chaos into a visual world of police chases and ruined suburban picnics.

Frontman Michael Gatto shares:

“Im so excited for the world to finally hear this record! Every little bit of writing to preproduction to actually being in the studio recording with Ross was amazing. We’ve got a lot of shows and new music to come. This is just the beginning!

Shooting the Pirates music video was great, Darren Craig killed it and Ross chewed up a pickle and spit it all over my shoes for the video - homemade relish. The video captures the intensity that the song was written about. And having Ghostemane feature on the track was mind-blowing.”

Drummer, Revel Ian shares

“Working on this record with Ross Robinson was the most cathartic experience I’ve ever had. There were no limits to what we could be or do. Playing our instruments was like breathing; you didn’t have to think it was just there; it was like an extension of our being. This record is what I’ve always wanted to do my entire life.”

For a band still at the beginning of their story, XCOMM have already ascended with the kind of velocity most new acts spend years trying to manufacture. Their breakout run has included early singles Fake ID,” “Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing and Borrowed Happiness, with Fake ID alone surpassing 2.5 million views across platforms and helping fuel the band’s rapid climb to nearly 90,000 Instagram followers.

That momentum has carried from screens into real rooms. XCOMM have already supported Foo Fighters at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, played The Punk Rock Museum’s 3rd Anniversary Parking Lot Show in Las Vegas, appeared at California Chaos Festival with Militarie Gun, and are set for major upcoming performances at Bumbershoot Festival, supporting Dethklok at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on May 22 and Observatory North Park in San Diego on May 28, plus appearances at Warped Tour in Washington, D.C. and Long Beach.

Their widening orbit is matched by a startling list of high-profile early supporters, including Mike Patton, Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down, Brann Dailor of Mastodon, Phil Anselmo, Leland Sklar, Dave Lombardo, Roy Mayorga, Jerry Cantrell, Jack Black, Dave Grohl, Keanu Reeves, Toby Morse, Kevin Lyman, Ghostemane, Skrillex, Duff McKagan, Fred Durst, Ben Shepherd, Elle King, Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, Jakob Nowell, Tony Hawk, The Blood Brothers, Guy Picciotto, Ross Robinson and Sid Wilson.

Robinson first encountered the band in a small club, where their impact was immediate.

“I first saw them at a small club and caught myself laughing out loud as they blasted through their set. For me, that’s an instant “yes”. That youth needed to be captured - raw and fast. Luckily they’re way more cool and talented than I could’ve hoped! “The future is absolutely unlimited for these kids. I can see them inspiring their generation to play music with an unfiltered fire - 100% real instruments with authentic expression of feeling- embracing the imperfection of being a human. An Anti-AI movement.“

This sense of unfiltered youth runs through every corner of Time To Burn. Across eleven tracks, XCOMM turn frustration, boredom, impulse, anger and absurdity into short, sharp shocks of hardcore clarity, simultaneously honoring the hardcore punk lineage that came before them, whilst also adding fresh and invigorating elements pulled from inspirations like David Lynch movies. Songs like their breakout single, Fake ID channel the real-life irritation of being turned away from shows for being under 21 into a snotty anthem of refusal, while Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing stretches the band’s range from frantic confrontation into darker, more atmospheric pressure.

For Fletcher Dragge, the band’s appeal is direct, immediate and deeply rooted in what punk is supposed to feel like.

“I was immediately caught by the simple but hooky, straightforward, guitar, riff, and ripping drums holding it down! I was sold immediately. Good old school punk rock the way it’s supposed to be written and delivered! Not only are these guys delivering exactly what I love to hear. They’re fucking young as shit.!! Super stoked to see the next generation of punk rock coming to life, the future looks bright and I’m 100% in.

These kids are earning everything they have achieved, 100 percent on their own. Trust me when I say these kids were born to be punkers.”

XCOMM are Michael Gatto on vocals/guitar, Revel Ian on drums, Adan Escoto on bass and Hunter Grogan on DJ/sampler. Together, they make punk rock that feels visceral before it feels fashionable. No borrowed attitude. Just the sharp, unruly sound of a young band kicking open the door while everyone else is still deciding whether they’re allowed in the room.

ABOUT XCOMM

Signed to Blowed Out Records, the label and incubator founded by Ross Robinson, Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong, XCOMM recorded their debut album Time To Burn with Robinson producing. Early singles Reasons,” “Fake ID,” “Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing,“Borrowed Happiness and “PIRATES” ft. GHOSTEMANE introduced a band capable of turning frustration, humour and pressure into precise, pummeling punk songs with teeth.

Ryan Perdz Announces New Album 'Can't Cry' Out August 14 via Big Machine Rock

Buffalo, NY singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Perdz has announced his debut album 'Can't Cry', set for release on August 14 (via Big Machine Rock). In celebration of the news, Perdz has released his poignant new single "Heavy Eyes" taken from the forthcoming full-length, along with the heartbreaking official music video. Speaking about the album announcement, he commented:

'Can’t Cry' is my take on modern rock. All my inspirations in one. The lyrics on this album I hold close and I feel like it tells a story many people can relate to today, helping those who struggle in silence not feel so alone. This is my first full album and this release is really important to me. It was an amazing experience writing and recording it and I’m so excited to perform these songs live for people.

When asked about "Heavy Eyes", Perdz shared:

The inspiration behind “Heavy Eyes” is the struggle of losing someone and the weight it holds in your life. “Heavy Eyes” has a distinct sound of soft verses and powerful, anthemic choruses; it's a track that I believe will really help people who struggle with mental health. My lyrics will speak to the people who sometimes can’t speak for themselves.

Built on cinematic tension, sharpened melodic hooks and Zahna’s ferocious vocal command, “The Archer” introduces the next chapter of an artist who has turned profound personal trial into hard-won resilience and purpose. It is heavy, devotional and deeply human, pulling from the same world of spiritual warfare, freedom and deliverance that sits at the heart of Break or Breakthrough.

“The Archer” is an anthem to the taunting Goliath in your way! It’s a song about evil being unable to hide anymore, and the reckoning that unfolds afterwards."

The new album finds Zahna stepping into her most fully realised creative era to date, expanding the visual world, symbolism and emotional stakes that have become central to her work. Across her songs and videos, Zahna builds with the intensity of someone treating rock music as a vessel for survival, confrontation and release, where every hook lands with purpose and every heavier moment feels earned.

For Zahna, signing with XOVR Records marks both a milestone and a mission. Having long hoped to work with someone likeBrian “Head” Welch, the partnership has given her the space to build an album rooted in trust, detail produced the record.

Zahna’s recent momentum has already carried into active rock. Her previous single Defiler” has been spinning across a growing list of active rock stations across the country including SiriusXM Octane, Music Choice, HardDrive Radio, explodingonto the chart after just a few weeks at the active rock format where it remained for over a month whilst also hitting Top 20 on the SiriusXM Octane chart.

With “The Archer” now out in the world and Break or Breakthrough arriving September 4, Zahna is entering a chapter built on purpose, survival and resilience. The arrow has been fired from the bow.
