UFO ‘NO PLACE TO RUN’ SCHEDULED TO RELEASE ON DELUXE, EXPANDED, REMASTERED AND REISSUED DOUBLE CD AND TRIPLE VINYL

Chrysalis Records are proud to present UFO’s classic 1980 album ‘No Place To Run’, newly remastered from the original production tapes transfers at AIR Mastering and reissued on stunning 3LP tri-fold sleeve 180gm vinyl and 2CD Digipak formats on August 15th, 2025.

‘No Place To Run’ was the eighth studio album by UFO and the first with Paul Chapman on guitar, following the departure of Michael Schenker. It was produced by legendary Beatles producer George Martin and recorded at his newly launched AIR Studios in Montserrat in the Caribbean, a stark difference from the bands’ usual surroundings.

Reflecting on the album forty five years later Phil Mogg said: “The thing that sticks in my mind from recording ‘No Place To Run’ was the complete miss match with UFO / George Martin (who was a lovely chap) and nothing summed it up more than when George would say to Geoff (sound engineer): ‘Well Geoff, it’s six o’clock, time for a G&T out on the veranda.’ How very civilized!”
  
The reissue includes a new and previously unreleased mix of ‘Live at The Marquee, London, November 16th 1980’, mixed by revered engineer Brian Kehew from the original multi-track tapes, giving a powerfully fresh sound. Only three tracks have ever been officially released before (‘Lettin’ Go’, ‘Mystery Train’ and ‘No Place to Run’). The other eleven tracks from this legendary show have not been available until now. The set will take fans right back to the electric atmosphere of the Marquee, with a band at the very top of their game.

Shredd and Ragan Present The Great North American Rush Off To Honor Neil Peart

Buffalo’s #1 morning show, 97 Rock’s Shredd & Ragan, is excited to announce The Great North American Rush Off—a heartfelt tribute to one of rock's greatest legends, Neil Peart, the iconic drummer of Canada’s #1 band, Rush. This project aims to honor Peart’s legacy while raising funds for The Neil Peart Memorial at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines, his hometown.

In 2020, the St. Catharines City Council, with overwhelming community support, voted to name the newly rebuilt pavilion at Lakeside Park after Neil Peart. However, the vision for this memorial extends beyond the pavilion. Plans are in place to erect two larger-than-life bronze sculptures of Neil Peart, connected by a pathway featuring experiential and interpretive elements that celebrate his personal and professional legacies, including his time with Rush.

The Great North American Rush Off is designed to spark conversations about the urgent need to raise funds —$500,000— to kickstart the construction of The Neil Peart Memorial. "Rush means so much to music fans in the Buffalo area, so we wanted to find a way to help fans give back,” remarked Shredd & Ragan. “When we tell them about the Neil Peart Memorial, they can't wait to help.”

**A Call For Covers**

Shredd & Ragan are calling on bands—both local and national—to submit their Rush cover songs. These tracks will be featured in a curated digital and physical compilation, with all proceeds benefiting The Neil Peart Memorial.

“This will be a fitting tribute to Neil and a spectacular monument where fans can gather and share their memories,” said David DeRocco of the Neil Peart Memorial Committee. “I’m looking forward to hearing the tributes being created through The Great North American Rush Off, and even more excited to be moving this project forward to completion.”

**The Goal** 

By launching this project, Shredd & Ragan’s goal is to create awareness for the various sponsorship packages available to help raise the necessary funds. Individual Rush fans can purchase $500 CAD “Wood Level Sponsorship” packages which includes a personalized message of up to 250 characters displayed at the park. If all of the packages are sold, the park will raise the necessary funds to fully complete the project. 

“When we started digging into the idea of raising money for the park, it became apparent that our mission is to help raise awareness that this park exists and needs to be funded,” explains MX2 Media’s Michael Parrish. “If our efforts spread the word to the legion of Rush fans around the world, I have no doubt they will rise up and help turn this  park from a concept to reality.” 

The Great North American Rush Off is just getting started and will expand as word spreads. A charity concert is also being planned in Buffalo featuring some of the bands that submitted songs, along with a charity auction of high-value items donated to help raise funds.

10TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE OF DEBUT SOLO ALBUM FROM ANGEL VOCALIST FRANK DIMINO ANNOUNCED

Best known for being the frontman of the legendary Hard Rock band ANGEL, who were discovered (similarly to VAN HALEN) by KISS bass player Gene Simmons and signed to Casablanca Records. With that label ANGEL released 5 critically acclaimed studio and one live album in the second half of the 70’s before disbanding and being resurrected by both DiMino and Punky Meadows in 2018. After the band’s initial break up, Dimino went on to work with UFO’s Paul Raymond and worked as a singer for Soundtracks, scoring a Platinum album for the inclusion of his Cycle V song “Seduce Me Tonight” on the “Flashdance” soundtrack.

Frank Dimino released his first solo project Old Habits Die Hard in 2015, a fine Melodic Hard Rock album which saw him collaborate with some heavyweights of the Vegas music scene where he currently resides. Under the production of Paul Crook (MEAT LOAF), Old Habits Die Hard sees the participation, among others, Oz Fox (STRYPER), Eddie Ojeda (TWISTED SISTER), Rickey Medlocke (BLACKFOOT, LYNYRD SKYNYRD), Jeff Duncan (ARMORED SAINT), and former ANGEL bandmates Punky Meadows (on guitar) and Barry Brandt (co-writing with Frank the song” Even Now”).

Warrant was formed in 1984 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, and experienced success from 1989 to 1996 with five albums reaching international sales of over 10 million. The band first came into the national spotlight with their double platinum debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich (1989) and one of its singles, "Heaven", which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's success continued in the early 1990s with the double platinum album Cherry Pie(1990), which provided the hit song of the same name.

In 1992, Warrant released their third album, the critically acclaimed Dog Eat Dog. The record achieved only moderate commercial success compared with the first two albums but still sold over 500,000 copies reaching Gold status and charting at No. 25 on the US Billboard charts. The band's fourth album Ultraphobic produced by a returning Beau Hill (Alice Cooper, Ratt, etc…) was released in March 1995 and, featured the singles "Family Picnic", "Followed" and the ballad "Stronger Now".

Rick Wakeman, featuring the vocals of Hayley Sanderson brings an all new show to the U.S. this Summer

In the last five years or so, keyboard maestro, composer and raconteur Rick Wakeman CBE has entertained audiences around the US with his brilliant and witty one-man shows, featuring solo performances of his work with YES, his own compositions and some surprise adaptations of other musicians’ material.

However, in July, his STRICTLY WAKEMAN tour will present a new show unlike any of his previous appearances. For the first time ever, Rick will be joining forces with a female singer – Hayley Sanderson, well-known for her work as one of the leading vocalists on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing TV show – to present a series of concerts featuring music specially adapted for piano and vocals.

Rick and Hayley have been working together for several years. He accompanied her on her 2009 album, Just Songs, and impressed by her vocal versatility and clarity, subsequently invited her to sing lead vocals on a number of his shows for band (and sometimes, orchestra) in the UK and South America, at prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the O2 Arena. Rick Wakeman needs no introduction. His 50-plus year career started as a much-in- demand session pianist and keyboard player, who performed his own arrangements on many classic records by the likes of David Bowie, Cat Stevens and Elton John. After a brief sojourn in the Strawbs, he joined YES and remained a member throughout their most productive period when they became the most successful progressive rock band in the world. After leaving YES, he acquired legendary status by writing and recording groundbreaking concept albums on a grand scale, but is equally at home performing solo on a Steinway grand piano. His record of being the only pianist to have two solo instrumental albums (Piano Portraits and Piano Odyssey) enter the UK charts in the Top 10 on release remains unbroken. While respecting his own musical history, Rick is always looking for ways to refresh, update and extend his legacy. “Hayley is great to work with, as she has the talent to feel the music in such a way as to make all the arrangements seamless,” he comments. “Hayley and I have never worked in concert with just the piano and voice, and so it opens up opportunities for new arrangements of pieces from rare albums, like Make Me A Woman from the Time Machine album, and Julia and The Hymn from 1984.”

IN THEORY COLLABORATES WITH GUITAR GREAT ERIC GALES ON ROUSING RENDITION OF THE LED ZEPPELIN CLASSIC “SINCE I’VE BEEN LOVING YOU”

In Theory is not your average rock band; they are a powerhouse of sound, emotion, and creativity, redefining the boundaries of the genre with their unique and electrifying sound. Hailing from diverse musical backgrounds, this dynamic group of talented players has come together to forge a path that is distinctly their own. Now, In Theory have just released their new single “Since I've Been Loving You,” with special guest Eric Gales in tribute to one the greatest rock bands - Led Zeppelin. The single is powerful, emotional collaboration with guitar legend Eric Gales and Mike Mostert bringing down the house. This exciting dramatic version showcases the incredible vocalist Tony Covino, along with a special all-star cast of Glen Sobel-Drums (Alice Cooper/ Hollywood Vampires/ Motley Crue), Jimbo Hart- Bass (Jason Isbell), and Clayton Ivey- Keys (Swamper/Fame Gang). As Mostert states, “We created a unique dark, dramatic version of a classic with tension, passion which takes the  listener through an emotional journey that transcends the body and soul”.

JUDAS PRIEST AND ALICE COOPER UNITE FOR CO-HEADLINING FALL TOUR

This fall, shock rock legend Alice Cooper and heavy metal trailblazers Judas Priest will share the stage for an epic co-headlining tour across North America. Produced by Live Nation, the 22-city run kicks off September 16 at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, MS, and stops in Toronto, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and more before wrapping October 26 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX.

Coming off the second leg of their Invincible Shield Tour and the release of their celebrated 19th studio album, Judas Priest remains a dominant force in metal. Meanwhile, Alice Cooper, the godfather of theatrical rock, wraps up his "Too Close For Comfort" tour this summer, promoting his most recent "Road" album, and will have an as-yet-unnamed all-new show for this tour. MICHAEL SCHENKER RECRUITS DEREK SHERINIAN TO TOUR JAPAN

Michael Schenker has invited keyboardist Derek Sherinian to tour Japan with him in January, including a show at the legendary Budokan.

In 2021, Michael Schenker invited Sherinian to guest on his album "Immortal" album on the opening song "Drilled To Kill". Schenker said of Sherinian, "Derek and myself trading solos, it sounds unexpected and beyond my expectation." "Absolutely fantastic!" In 2022, Schenker returned the favor by guesting on Sherinian's Vortex album on the song "Die Kobra". In 2024, Sherinian appeared on Schenker's My Years With UFO album.

Sherinian was also recently named “Best Keyboardist” in Japan’s BURRN! Magazine 2022 Readers Poll (an award he also received previously, in 2020). Derek was also voted “Greatest Keyboardist of the 21st Century” and  #8 “Greatest of All Time” by MusicRadar.com, and also was ranked #9 “Greatest of All Time” in PROG Magazine.  

Sherinian has distinguished himself by his versatility, and aggressive "guitaristic" approach to his signature keyboard style. MusicRadar.com declared, "His virtuoso playing has seen him dubbed the keyboard-playing version of Eddie Van Halen." David Coverdale claims that “Derek plays the Hammond organ like the son of Jon Lord.”

Starting his pro career with Alice Cooper in 1989 on the “Trashes the World” world tour, Sherinian proceeded to tour and record with KISS, Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Idol  and Whitesnake. He has also released nine solo albums, and was the co-founder of Planet X,  Sons of Apollo, and supergroup Black Country Communion (also featuring Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes, and Jason Bonham).

CANADIAN HARD ROCK ACT HELIX CELEBRATES 50 YEARS WITH NEW BEST-OF RELEASE

Crown X Recordings, Canada’s premier re-issue label, proudly announces the release of Helix 50 – The Best Of, a career-spanning collection celebrating five decades of one of Canada’s most legendary hard rock bands. The compilation features an all-star re-recording of Helix’s multi-platinum hit “Rock You,” alongside international chart-toppers from their major label debut, No Rest For The Wicked(1983), through to Vagabond Bones (2009). An all-new track complete the circle. Using cutting-edge audio technology, every track has been expertly remastered for both CD and vinyl at Iguana Recording Studios in Toronto, ON for a new sonic experience.

Helix’s newest studio track “Stand Up” is released on all streaming platforms Friday, May 18. Followed by a Friday, May 2 streaming and video release of the all-star recording of “Rock You”, featuring founding vocalist Brian Vollmer and longtime bassist Daryl Gray, along with special guests Phil X (Bon Jovi), Brent Fitz (Slash), and Todd Kerns (Slash). COSMOSQUAD ANNOUNCES MIDWESTERN TOUR DATES, REUNITING FOR FIRST LIVE SHOWS IN 5 YEARS FEATURING THEIR CLASSIC LINEUP

Veteran progressive rock fusion trio Cosmosquad has announced a highly anticipated Midwest tour for April 2025, marking the band's first live performances in over five years. The tour will feature the group’s classic lineup, including guitarist Jeff Kollman, drummer Shane Gaalaas, and bassist Kevin Chown.

Formed in 1997, Cosmosquad pioneered a distinctive blend of metal and jazz fusion, drawing from the worlds of shredding metal riffs, intricate jazz chord structures, and improvisation. Over the years, the band has released five acclaimed albums, including Cosmosquad (1998), Squadrophenia (2001), Acid Test (2003), Live at the Baked Potato (2010), and their 2017 concept album The Morbid Tango, which received critical praise for its innovative fusion of genres.  “Born from the vibrant Los Angeles music scene of the ‘90s, Cosmosquad has always been a project that allows us to break free from the musical confines of our other high-profile session and touring work,” said Kollman. “We’re excited to reconnect with our fans and bring some fresh energy to our live performances after such a long break.”

Cosmosquad has remained a musical outlet where the trio merges their roots in classic rock with their shared love for jazz fusion. Despite each member’s extensive touring careers, the band has maintained their unique chemistry and a commitment to pushing musical boundaries.

Guitarist Jeff Kollman is known for his signature tone and fearless guitar work. His recent solo album, 2023 A.D. (released in 2024), features a guest appearance from Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith on the single “Tongs & Thongs.” Kollman continues to tour with Alan Parsons, alongside performances with legends like Chris Isaak, Lou Gramm (Foreigner), and many others.

Drummer Shane Gaalaas, originally from Canada, has built a legendary career through his long association with Japanese rock superstars B’z and has worked with notable artists including Glenn Hughes, Billy Idol, Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, and Uli Jon Roth. Gaalaas’s ability to blend rock attitude with jazz sophistication has earned him recognition as one of the world’s finest drummers.

Bassist Kevin Chown is a prominent member of 90s rock band Steelheart and has previously toured with artists such as Sebastian Bach, Paul Gilbert, Tony MacAlpine, and Tarja Turunen. Chown has also contributed to multiple solo and collaborative projects, including The Bombastic Meatbats, alongside Jeff Kollman and Chad Smith.

Cosmosquad’s music continues to resonate with fans and critics alike, with glowing praise from industry legends such as Steve Lukather of Toto, who said, “Some of the best, most inspiring stuff I have heard in a long time! Incredible playing and just gorgeous melodic composition. This band is killer!”  and British record producer Terry Brown (Rush, Fates Warning, Voivod) who said “This album is so cool I cannot pick my favorite cut.  Just so much great material and killer execution.”

It was quite important for us to nail down the balance between the more traditional elements of classic rock with utilizing available technology and our creativity.”

On Friday, June 6, 2025, one of the greatest and most successful Canadian rock bands of all-time, Triumph, will be honored with a star-studded tribute album. 'Magic Power: All Star Tribute to Triumph' will arrive via Round Hill Records, featuring such renowned rockers as Dorothy, Sebastian Bach, Nancy Wilson, Joey Belladonna, Slash, and Jeff Keith covering classic Triumph tunes. 

The 15-track album features an amazing collection of musical firepower, including drummers Kenny Aronoff and Tommy Aldridge, and guitarists Bumblefoot, Paul Gilbert, Nita Strauss. 

The project was conceived by renowned producer Mike Clink – who has produced classic recordings for Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue and Whitesnake.

'Magic Power' will be released on CD with a 12 page booklet and as a double LP gatefold edition.

The participants are extremely honored to salute Triumph, including Phil X, who went on to say, "It is so incredible to get back to my roots with my brothers, Gil, Mike and Rik. The Triumph fans will love this!”

Originally formed in 1975 and hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the trio was always proud of their Great White North roots. And seemingly ever since their inception, Triumph was on the cutting edge of technology when it came to their live show – particularly lighting, sound, and effects. 

Sophisticated lasers, pyrotechnics and moving lighting rigs, all computer-controlled – Triumph was one of the first arena rock bands to incorporate all of these elements into their shows. Triumph's headlining tours were legendary, and the band was featured on many memorable stadium/outdoor shows – including the US Festival, the World Series of Rock, the American Rock Festival and Texxas Jam, Day on the Green, to name but a few.

WANG CHUNG ANNOUNCES CAREER RETROSPECTIVE, "CLEAR LIGHT/DARK MATTER."

Some of the '80s biggest and most enduring hits were created by a single band, Wang Chung – including "Dance Hall Days," "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," "Let's Go", "To Live and Die in L.A.," "Hypnotize Me," and “Fire In The Twilight” – and now all those tracks (and more!) will be included on the new compilation, 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' via SING (distributed by Symphonic/AMPED Distribution).

Scheduled to release on Friday, May 9th, 2025, 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' reveals the many layers of Wang Chung's music. Available on CD, digital, and a double set on black or white vinyl, the compilation spans the band's more than four-decade career featuring a carefully curated selection of their greatest hits and hidden gems, including never-before-released demos and a new live recording. Additionally, a single-vinyl release of just the "Greatest Hits" (disc one) of 'Clear Light/Dark Matter' will also be available. Pre-order here.

The double-vinyl and double-CD sets also include an edit of the recently released brand new remix of “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” by acclaimed remixer Eric Kupper, known for his work with artists such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Depeche Mode, Diana Ross, and Earth, Wind & Fire. The duo of Nick Feldman and Jack Hues came out of the post-punk/new wave scene in the UK, and went on to achieve global success selling millions of records. Throughout their 40+ year career, they have released 6 studio albums and 2 greatest hits collections. They have had 6 US Top 40 hits, including a massive #1 single. They composed and performed the complete score for the 1984 neo-noir action thriller film "To Live and Die in L.A.” and also the song 'Fire in the Twilight’ for the legendary film "The Breakfast Club," amongst many others. 
 
In the process of all of this (and somewhat unintentionally), Wang Chung became part of the contemporary culture of North America with their huge smash 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight,' with its now famous line ''Everybody Wang Chung Tonight'' which saw the invention of a new US verb: ''to Wang Chung'."

In 2024 Wang Chung’s hit song 'Dance Hall Days’ was featured almost in its entirety in the 2024 hit movie starring Anne Hathaway titled 'The Idea of You.'  'To Live and Die in LA' also got used as the theme tune for the John Mulaney Netflix show ‘Everybody’s in LA.' 

And now, fans will be able to experience all of Wang Chung's classics via 'Clear Light/Dark Matter.'

2024 was certainly a successful year for Wang Chung, starting off spectacularly last February with the first US landing on the Moon since 1972. The Moon lander’s data storage unit had all Wang Chung’s album covers together with photos of Nick and Jack and their families uploaded onto it. 
Later in the year, 'Dance Hall Days' was featured almost in its entirety in the aforementioned smash hit movie starring Anne Hathaway, titled 'The Idea of You’.  'To Live and Die in L.A.' also got used as the theme tune for the John Mulaney Netflix show 'Everybody's in LA.' 
On the live front, the band continued to wow audiences wherever they played throughout their extensive touring in 2024.
 
2025 looks to be even more notable for Wang Chung, with the release of ‘Clear Light Dark Matter’ and ‘Live at El Mocambo’, as well as even more touring in North America, Australia, UK and around the world throughout the year. Plus the band plans to mark the 40th anniversary of ‘To Live and Die in LA’ later in the year….details to come on that.
